GENERAL HOSPITAL: Chase Turns a Blind Eye to the Scathing Headline About His Ex-Wife and Runs to Her Defense

By the end of the Thursday, October 8 episode of General Hospital, we were left scratching our heads at how utterly indefensible Chase’s (Josh Swickard) complete and utter blind eye to his ex-wife, Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) actions and his knight in shining armor antics are so misguided.
Let’s break this down! After Lulu’s (Alexa Havins) piece in The Invader has the whole town of Port Charles talking, Carly (Laura Wright) laughs in Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) face about how he was trapped in a wheelchair with a paralytic drug for months, while Tracy (Jane Elliot) filled Michael (Rory Gibson) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) in on the article, which to this point they have not seen.
Said article, comes on the heels of Lulu’s little chat with Sidwell (Carlo Rota) in his hospital room. The headline reads: “Motion Denied: Congresswoman Gives Husband Paralytic Drug For Months!”
Michael and Brook Lynn worried that Willow will lash out do something vengeful and blame the Quartermaines for this. They hope that Chase will finally see the light to who Willow truly is.

WILLOW CAN DO NO WRONG?
Meanwhile, Chase is meeting with his lawyer Monet Mitchell (Blythe Howard) to discuss his separation from Brook Lynn, when he suddenly gets a text from Tracy. He opens it up and tells Monet he has to bolt. Something has come up. So, Chase being Chase, shows up in the Quartermaine kitchen and blames Brook Lynn, Michael and Tracy for a hit piece on his ex-wife.
The three deny involvement. But Chase being Chase, doesn’t believe a word they are saying. He then makes a VOW to stop them from trying to destroy Willow’s reputation any further! After he storms out, Brook Lynn is angered and devastated that no matter what, Chase is standing by his ex, and not trying to save his marriage to her.
FRIENDLY SUPPORT INTERUPPTED
Meanwhile at the gatehouse, Willow is opening up to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), who came by to see her to offer her support. Willow admitted the story is true and that Sidwell gave her the paralytic drugs to use on Drew, in return for having her implanted in congress to do his bidding and to take Drew’s seat. Willow’s concerned that the mere existence of this article will cause massive problems with her political career and the custody arrangement over her children she has with Michael.
As Britt tries to help Willow figure a way to save herself, Chase arrives fuming mad. He tells Willow he is absolutely sure that Brook Lynn, Michael and Tracy were behind the article and he knows exactly how they could fight back.
So, does it seem to you that even if Willow admits to Chase to what she did to Drew is true, that Chase will just feel bad for her and not see anything but desire for her? Is Chase going to continue to be the dumbest male character in daytime? Weigh-in via the comment section, but first, check out the scenes between Britt and Willow below from today’s GH.
Chase needs to be fired from the PCPD. He does not deserve to wear a police badge. Come on GH why are you guys making him out to be so dumb!!!!!
There are highs and lows with any long running soap but GH is in a funk lately – storyline and writing wise. I’m not a frequent complainer and rarely leave comments anywhere but oof these past few weeks in particular have been rough. Dummy Chase. Bland new characters. All the Sonny/Ava stuff. But I will ride it out and hope things improve soon.
You know how it was said that Willow exhibited cult follower patterns due to growing up in Dawn of Day? Well, it seems to be contagious as far as Chase is concerned. Despite all the evidence to the contrary, Chase continues to believe Willow is a victimized pillar of virtue.
If the great love of Willow’s life is a doe-eyed dunce shooting blanks, more power to her. They are actually perfect for each other. They meet each others’ delusional needs Willow can keep entertaining us with her cray cray and Chase will keep covering up her crimes. I can’t wait to hear what his big plan is to vindicate her.
I think that if he and Willow ever had sex , we’d find out that he isn’t shooting blanks
I bet you’re right, and even though Chase is sterile, Willow may find a way to get pregnant and claim it is his miracle baby. The heights of evil Willow will reach to hang on to Chase will be epic and I’m here for all her unhinged shenanigans. Katelyn manages to play Willow as desperate but not weak. It’s a tricky feat she’s pulling off. It’s old school soapy and reminiscent of the crazy ways Cynthia Watros’s crazy Annie tried to hang onto Josh on GL. Of course Josh was a much better catch than this idiot Chase.
The way Britt cut through Willow’s nonsense and she immediately confessed (most of) her criminal doings was delicious to watch. I didn’t imagine these actors as great scene partners but they totally are!
Today didn’t make sense with Chase. He is a cop. He’s familiar with evidence. But he totally blew off what Lulu reported, and rushed to Willow??? Come on writers, that one doesn’t make any sense.
And they totally abandoned something major about his character. He came to Port Charles with first hand experience of Nell’s evil ways. Therefore nothing about her sister, Willow, should surprise him.
The character is an idiot!
Absolutely an Idiot. Please show him the light.
He is sadly an Absolute Idiot. Please writers stop this insane storyline and expose all of Willows crimes. And make Chase beg for forgiveness from the Q.
I can’t wait for Chase to beg for forgiveness from the Qs when he finally realizes that not only is his damsel in distress guilty of what the article states, but also shooting Drew.
I haven’t watched it yet. Sounds like it’ll be agonizing to watch. I don’t like this buddy system between Britt and Willow, but I understand the writers had to find something else for Britt to do since she was removed from Jason’s orbit. I’m too exhausted to fuss about Chase’s stupidity right now or what GH has done to this once smart character.
I think Britt has other motives behind her interaction with Willow.
Chase is dumb but pretty
Until yesterday, I truly hoped that Brook Lyn and Chase’s marriage would be saved. Not anymore. Since Chase is continuously so mesmerized by Weeping Willow, let him go. He’s supposed to be a former police detective. Has he never heard the saying, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” At least consider there is something fishy about Weeping Willow. But no!!!!!!!!!! He’s an utter fool. Now, he’s going to prove that the Quatermaines are behind Lulu”s article. Good luck with that dunce. Brook Lynn needs to drop him like a hot potato.
Chase is eventually going to crash, and it will be so hard that he hightails it to Seattle to live with his brother and niece. Yes, there’s the Phoebe factor, but if Hudson is the father, he’d team up with BLQ and kick the good looking, but pea brained cop out of that child’s life.
The Willow-Britt interaction is probably because Nina is locked up and Willow has no one else in her corner (except idiotic Chase). Speaking of Nina… who’s running Crimson? Michael should reach out to Maxie to cover for Nina.
Too bad Jascinda had to leave Port Charles. It would have been fun watching her show her emerging business and leadership prowess. That said, wouldn’t it be fun to have Erica Kane fill in as Crimson’s interim editor-in- chief?
If it weren’t for the cast already being bloated, a short-term visit from Kendall Hart would reunite Alicia Minshew and Cameron Mathison. But Maxie is more important to the canvas and she could bring a recast Georgie back to fill out the teen set.
they are starting to write Chase as a cartoon idiot, the character and the show deserve better
Right? If he, as an actor, decides to go work on a different show, I wouldn’t blame him. It must be hard to see your character be reduced to this. This also is disrespectful of those lovely years when Tracy and Gregory were best friends and Tracy rooted for Chase and Finn no matter what. Now Chase is garbage as far as Tracy’s concerned, rightfully so. But look how far this has gone. It’s ridiculous what these writer’s have undone.
I bet you’re right, and even if Chase is sterile, Willow may find a way to get pregnant and claim it is his miracle baby. The heights of evil Willow will reach to hang on to Chase will be epic and I’m here for all her unhinged shenanigans. Katelyn manages to play her as desperate but not weak. It’s a tricky feat she is pulling off.
I am soo sick of Chase, Willow and Drew. It is time for something new! Chase needs to be knocked off his righteousness and have him beg for the Q’s forgiveness and them reject him. Willow and Drew need to crash and burn. Enough of them already, especially Chase!

EMOTIONS RAN HIGH

Speaking on his fellow nominees which included the likes of Y&R’s Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) and GH’s Steve Burton, (Jason Morgan) Clifton said, “I am in awe of all of you, and you’ve taught me so much. It was a really hard year, and you made me invincible. You are my existential oxygen tank. And I don’t know what I would do without you. I love you, and I am grateful to you.
DECADES BETWEEN
In the Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress categories, two longtime names synonymous with daytime drama, Roger Howarth (Matt Clark, Y&R) and Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott, Y&R) won their second Emmys in their career. Roger 32 years after his last Emmy playing Todd Manning on One Life to Live in 1994, and Beth Maitland for winning 41 years after becoming Y&R’s first performer to win Emmy gold back in 1985.
General Hospital executive producer, Frank Valentini and his producing team took home the gold for the sixth year in a row for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series for the ABC soap. He later shared a moment with Scott Clifton, who started his daytime career as Dillon Quartermaine on GH.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Heather Webber Makes a Surprise Return Stunning Trina; Alley Mills Weighs-In on Her Comeback

The Friday, October 30 episode of General Hospital came to a conclusion with a one-two cliffhanger. The first, as Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza) finished rehearsing their song at the Cats Eye Lounge, a woman’s feet where seen entering the club.
When the camera panned up it revealed a well-dressed Heather Webber (Alley Mills) applauding and yelling “bravo!” at the two young performers, but with Trina absolutely shocked to see her!
While General Hospital fans knew two-time Daytime Emmy winner was rejoining the show as the supposed reformed “Hook” killer (after cobalt poisoning due to her hip surgery played with her mind), what is Heather’s ‘state of mind’ now?

For months, GH has been teeing up the mystery of who is stalking Trina, with someone adding clippings of Trina to their “obsession” board.
Many viewers have felt that it will wind up being Heather who is seeking revenge on Trina, since Heather’s daughter Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) went overboard a boat and into the Siene in France, and is believed to be dead, after Spencer (last played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez) saved Trina from her.
Speaking with TV Insider about her GH return this fall, Alley Mills shared on her first scenes back: “That was so fun because I love working with Tab, but I’ve never worked with the other kids before. I’ve seen them on TV, but I have never met them before, and they’re really talented, and they definitely got in Heather’s face. And the blessed Shawn Reeves, the wonderful costumer, put me in this fabulous outfit.”

With Heather soon to mix-up with the residents of Port Charles, Mills added that Heather now has some wealth to boot! “It’s been an uphill battle, and she just hopes that people will understand and forgive her,” explains Mills. “But with the wonderful voice of Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte (co-head writers, GH and this year’s Daytime Emmy winners for Outstanding Writing in a Daytime Drama), she just has so much spunk.”
Mills added, “I love the way they write her (Heather). She doesn’t really have a ton of boundaries and social awareness and softness. But she just won’t let people get her down. She’s like one of those dolls outside the gas station. You throw them down, and they pop back up. I feel like Heather is kind of like that now, but in Gucci.”
So, were you stunned to see Heather Webber dressed quite elegantly and showing up at the Cat’s Eye Lounge? Do you think that now more than ever Heather is Trina’s stalker? Let us know via the comment section. But first, you can check out when Heather makes her presence now below.
