GENERAL HOSPITAL: Dante is Shot as Jason Reveals Himself
Just how was General Hospital going to reintroduce the character of Jason Morgan to the canvas with the highly-anticipated return of Steve Burton in the pivotal role? Well, why we don’t have all the answers, the show wasted no time, and Burton first appeared at the beginning of the Monday, March 4th episode.
In story, while Sonny (Maurice Benard), Selena (Lydia Look) and Ava (Maura West) are at the warehouse, they are facing off with the FBI and the PCPD when John (Adam J. Harrington), Anna (Finola Hughes), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), Chase (Josh Swickard) et al show up. Meanwhile on the roof, a man kneels over a skylight window who pipes up with, “it appears they are late to the party.” It’s then revealed just who the man is talking to, and it turns out it’s JASON!
Meanwhile, John and Anna are questioning Sonny and Selina on what they are doing in the warehouse. Selina says they are planning a poker game. Next, the man with Jason aims his gun at Sonny. However, Jason messes up his shot, but the shot rings out. Inside the warehouse everyone scatters about. They realize the show came from the skylight.

Jason tells the other man they’ve been compromised and need to leave the location. Below, in the warehouse, Dante thinks that he and Chase can get onto the roof since the shooter didn’t see them. So, Dante takes off with Chase to find the culprit. In the meantime, John orders a CSI unit. Next, Chase returns and says the building is all clear and Dante is pursuing the suspects.
Now on the pier, Dante catches up with Jason (who’s back is to him) and the other man. Dante orders them to freeze. While the other man gets away, Jason stays put and Dante orders him to turn around slowly with his hands up. Dante is shocked to see its Jason. Confused, Dante says, “What the hell?” Next, the other man returns and fires two shots into Dante’s chest.

As Dante goes down, Jason runs over to him. The other man calls Jason “Jacobs” and tell him to leave the cop to die. Jason tells the other man to go to the planned site and he will find another way out. Next, the man attempts to fire at Jason who is hovering over Dante, but Jason shoots at him first and takes him out.
Back at the warehouse, Ava sees a bullet hole in Sonny sleeve, as John says that it confirms that Sonny is the intended target. John and Sonny stare each other down due to their dark past. It’s clear that Sonny doesn’t trust John and vice-versa. Anna tells Sonny she is not out to get him and doesn’t want him to die. She adds that Sonny, “Must have had an angel on his shoulder because she doesn’t see how that sniper missed from this range.”
Chase returns to the warehouse having dropped everyone off at the PCPD, but says Dante hasn’t checked in with him. Sonny looks very concerned, as Jason is looking very concerned over Dante’s body.
So, what did you think of the first episode back for Steve Burton as Jason Morgan? Will it be revealed that he has been infiltrating this organization to save Sonny? Does Jason not know his true identify? What do you think is going on? As for Dante, will he pass out from his injuries and not identify Jason was even there on the roof with him? Comment below.
Dante was wearing a vest so his wounds shouldn’t be life threatening. Worst case scenario is that the impact of the bullets might have hit in just the right spot to fracture a rib and puncture a lung, which would explain why he seemed to have difficulty breathing. He should pull through OK in the end, and it’s unlikely he would go into a coma but… it is a soap, so Hell only knows.
Since the now dead gunman appears to be the same guy that was working with Brennan, it would appear that Jason has infiltrated “Pikeman” for some reason. The question is… why? And considering who should be running Pikeman (Alcazar), how could Jason get inside such an organization without their boss knowing about it?
I thought sure he had on a vest too, but how were the bullets able to penetrate?
With the high powered gun a sharp shooter would have, fired at close range, could penetrate.
The high powered sniper rifle was left on the roof. He shot Dante with a handgun, but apparently had armor piercing bullets. Not all that surprising that a mercenarty thug would use that kind of ammo.
Didn’t know about those Armor piercing Bullets before your info but got a good lesson on one of my favorite shows, SWAT last night, thanks.
Armor piercing bullets
I don’t think they penetrated -they were just so powerful they caused massive internal injuries
I don’t think Alcazar is coming back.; Ted King mentioned just the other day he was going out on auditions. So unless he’s trying to throw his fans off, it doesn’t seem likely he’s returning. I’m disappointed; soap media has been hinting at his return for a few years now.
They could think they brainwashed Jason; have him under their control. They know exactly who he is and they think he’s an asset who is working with them, when in actuality he’s been preventing their take-down of Sonny all along.
The other gunman fired at the same time Jason fired, so did he also get shot? The other guy called him Jacobs. I just realized Jake’s given name is Jacob Martin. I’m excited to see this story unfold.
That’s why his son is called Jake I think?
Jason was likely wounded. A couple weeks ago there was a vague spoiler about “somebody from the past” showing up at Elizabeth’s door looking for help. So it makes sense that Jason might seek medical attention from his favorite nurse, rather than go to the hospital and risk being arrested. Though he hasn’t actually done anything to be arrested for, at least this time around. He did take the Pikeman guy out, but that was a clearcut case of self defense.
yes Jason got shot………it shows him with blood on his hand
Please don’t drag this on.
Lol.. it has only been one show so far
22 days later – still going on
So, we’re supposed to suspend belief that two major mob bosses scheduled a meeting in a room with skylights and none of their security guarded the roof?
Sonny had somebody guarding the roof. He just didn’t know about it.
Very lack luster episode. Hopefully it will start to get more exciting! I’m so disappointed I was looking forward to Jason returning with a big bang!
Love, love, love Ava and Sonny !! Finally, some chemistry on GH.
Yes, they are both scum but classy scum – the most compatible match for both of them yet
What I don’t understand is on Monday’s episode Dante had a bullet vest on, and appeared the wind was knocked out of him hard. Tuesday’s episode opens with no vest, and blood coming out of his mouth, what happened in-between the two shows?
Jason might have taken Dante’s vest off so he could get to the wound and try to stop the bleeding. Just my guess… this episode hasn’t aired down here in Hell yet.
And Chase tell the paramedics ” multiple gun shot wounds to the chest” I recall only one gun shot. Lol..
That puzzled me too. I think Dex told police when he and Joss found him, he had his vest folded and he was laying on it.
Where is the body of the man Jason shot when he shot Dante. Dex and Joclyn and Chase didn’t see him? The roof was surrounded. This story has more holes then what they shot into Dante’s chest!!
Jason said when he went back to look for it the body was gone – most likely taken by who ever is running this clown show – it took me 23 days just to figure this much out
Yes, he had a vest but the armor piercing bullets were so powerful they caused massive internal damage

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
