GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason and Tracy Face Monica’s Death Together
Longtime fans of General Hospital and anyone with half a heart, who caught today’s episode were most likely in a puddle of tears due to the heart-tugging performances of Steve Burton (Jason) and Jane Elliot (Tracy).
In story, Jason has just informed Tracy that when he went up to talk to Monica at her request, he found her no longer breathing and with no pulse. Monica must have passed away in her sleep. Next, Tracy tells Jason to call 911.
The next moment, Tracy and Jason share an emotional hug just before the paramedics arrive. The sheriff also arrives and tells Tracy how highly regarded Monica was in in Port Charles.

Feeling all of the moments of grief, Jason and Tracy sit down together in the Quartermaine living room, as it should be to remember Monica. It was touching to see GH bring together the two characters who loved Monica and had such history with her, made all the more emotional with Steve Burton, who always felt a special bond with Leslie Charleson, and Jane Elliot, who was one-half of the best bickering duo on daytime.
Tracy recalls how Alan gave the house to Monica and how they always argued about it. Cue the flashback to one of their arguments. Tracy says in the present that she and Monica, always argued but she always respected her.

In perhaps, the most hankie-induing moment, Tracy reminds Jason, how he had such a special relationship with Monica. At first, Monica wanted nothing to do with Jason, since he was the child of Susan Moore and Alan. But things changed one night when he was left all alone as a baby. Cue the flashback to baby Jason in the arms of Monica. Tracy says eventually Monica saw Jason as her son.

Jason recalls how it took awhile after his accident and life-changing brain injury to realize Monica loved him. Cue the flashback of young Monica and Jason. In the present, Jason shares he wishes he had memories of growing up with Monica as his mom, and regrets he didn’t ask her when he had a chance. Tracy pipes up; she can tell him all about. She reminds Jason that Monica loved him and the two share a sorrowful hug.

Steve Burton and Jane Elliot did outstanding work in today’s episode. Kate Hall was the right person to be involved with the script for today’s episode, and this is purely the beginning.
What wonderful scenes with Tracy and Jason. And the flashbacks were good to see. Steve and Jane brought their A-game in today’s episode.
Steve Burton and Jane Elliot broke my heart. The next several weeks are going to be very, very painful for us long term viewers.
Slightly off topic here but… since when does Port Charles have a “Sheriff”??
Can’t remember ever seeing or hearing about a Sheriff before, and now they show up because Monica dies, presumably of natural causes, in her own home. If they needed some sort of official documentation of her death, wouldn’t the paramedics who were already on the scene be qualified to do that? And if any sort of police presence was required, surely they are aware that two PCPD detectives currently live in that very residence?
Just seems like a random thing they threw in to interrupt some otherwise great scenes between Tracy & Jason. And oddly enough, the Sheriff’s name tag said “Lewis”. Any chance he could be the son of 80’s PCPD chief, Guy Lewis??
It’s not that weird where I live we have Sheriff dept and we have a regular police dept
I found it very endearing. Monica and Tracy had a very unusual relationship. They acted like sisters. Tracy, can be as hard as nails. Also, as soft as a kitten. She has been able to ad excitement To the show.
That was pure love and kindness.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Sonny makes a stunning announcement. Serena makes her move. Willow faces a new threat. Isaiah takes the stand. Lucy questions Laura.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
