GENERAL HOSPITAL: Kristina Crashes Through a Window During Her Showdown with Ava: What Did You Think of the Fall?

It’s going to be crisis-mode tomorrow on Friday’s episode of the General Hospital, following the ending of the Thursday, August 1st episode of the ABC daytime drama series.

The scene that has everyone buzzing featured Maura West and Kate Mansi as Ava and Kristina. After being summoned to testify against her father, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that she witnessed the beatdown of Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) at the hands of the mobster, Kristina is on the warpath.

Next, Kristina shows up in Ava’s room at the Metro Court Hotel, John (Adam J. Harrington) has already conveniently left and put his duffel bag behind the table. Kristina confronts Ava demanding she withdraw the subpoena. Ava says she is a mother trying to protect her daughter, and she should know something about that, given her current state.

Ava points out that if Kristina fails to testify she will be in contempt of court, and it will only bolster her case. Ava taunts Kristina about what she is hiding that has her afraid to testify. Kristina warns her to withdraw the subpoena or else. Ava says she’s looking forward to watching Kristina testify against Sonny in a court-of-law.

As the two continue to argue, photos are being taken through the window. Kristina promises she will make Ava regret making her take the stand, because when she does she’ll tell everyone what Ava did to Morgan and that she murdered Connie Falconeri. As Ava moves towards Kristina, she screams, “Don’t touch me!” Next, thing you know, Kristina takes one step back, trips over Cates’ luggage and crashes through the window landing in the Metro Court pool with several onlookers watching the terrible fall, including Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez).

Kate Mansi spoke to Soap Opera Digest on taping the showdown between Ava and Kristina, that led up to her GH alter ego crashing through the window: “I think that was really smart and it leaves it in this really sort of knotty gray area because it’s like, ‘Wait, did she push her, or did she fall? Whose fault is it?’ The blame isn’t black and white. Kristina came to Ava’s hotel room so hot, you know? Off the charts! Kristina isn’t attacking her, but if you think about it, Kristina comes into her space and is yelling at her and upset with her and making demands and there is all this heat coming from Kristina. Ava did not lure her there; Kristina went there willingly, on her own.”

So, what did you think of a pregnant Kristina crashing through the window? Will the baby survive? Will Kristina see her brother Morgan (Bryan Craig) if she heads towards the light? Will Ava be accused of trying to kill Kristina? Share your theories via the comment section below.

Since Brick captured this all on camera for Sonny, I’m thinking he’s going to be sending Ava down this way very soon. If Alexis doesn’t beat him to it.

The argument and the fall wasn’t what I was expecting and I appreciated the surprise. On a different matter, I prefer the old TJ who was a sweetie pie and the old Scotty who would goad Sonny but not goad a young pregnant girl. I would have liked to have seen TJ return the “I love you” to Alexis instead of a bland “thank you.” Yes, I realize the writers need to set up situations to anger Kristina enough to storm over to Ava’s. And they need reasons to anger TJ enough to do whatever he is about to do. I’ll just be glad when the surrogacy story is over. I miss TJ the sweetie pie.

I agree. I cannot stand “TJ The Jerk”! If I have to keep fast forwarding past alot of these people all I will see is the commercials!

I did not see that coming! I was shocked and got goose pimples… that rarely ever happens.
I was just watching the episode like I always do, watching but then on my laptop, listening to the story, but distracted… yet finally GH pulled me in…. I heard most of the conversation between Ava & Kristina… and the last few seconds I looked up at the tv, and OMFG… I didn’t expect that to happen! Kristina flew out of the window and straight into the pool! Maybe not flew, like Cody flew into the pool.

I was shocked and got goose pimples. Well done, GH, you got me to look up and react to the beat of the scene.

I didn’t see this coming at all, omg, how is Ava gonna get out of this? Now ;she’s gonna have more people wanting to kill her, why is GH setting up to get rid of one of their best Actors? It was high drama for sure, I’m just not looking forward of what it looks like the show is setting up. but I could be wrong, but theres just no way crazy Sonny is letting Ava get away with this.

They should have dumped her exaggerated acting butt years ago, she’s nothing but trouble!vV

Years from now, will people misspeak and say that Ava pushed Kristina? Is this AJ and pregnant Carly on the Q stairs redux? Decades later some viewers still insist that AJ pushed Carly – he did not.

Does the PCPD keep hazmat tape at the MC pool? Curtis’ shooting, Ned’s slip and now this. Throw in Cody’s parachuting into Britt and this set certainly gets maximum usage each year. It’s almost like Frank challenges the writers to come up with a new pool catastrophe (or two) each season.

I’ve only got one question which has been bugging the heck out of me. Why are these kids being sent into the pool with their clothes on? Can just imagine what that must feel like, yuk! Wonder why they aren’t allowed to wear Swim Suits, speaking of which, could they have gotten a more frumpy and unattractive one for Joss?

Joss’s suit was the least offensive. Why is Brook Lynn at the pool with that long sleeve frock on? Does Amanda not feel comfortable showing her arms. Opposite end of the spectrum – Lois t-shirt was definitely more Bensonhurst than Port Charles.

Don’t mind the younger kids wearing shirts in the pool.

O.k, I’m still nit picking about the kids not wearing swim suits, and I wasn’t putting down Joss’s suit, only that it wasn’t very stylish, and as for Brook Lynn, she tends to be frumpy anyway, but thanks for your input.

Yes. It’s the AJ- pushed-Carly-down- the- stairs all over again!!!

That episode was unbelievable! I was in total shock! Totally didn’t expect that.

Totally caught off guard and very shocking scene !

But after Fridays show, Ava would have been far better off with the truth rather than staging the fall in a different manner. All these lies when really, who cares if Jagger stayed over ? Trina has already seen everything. The real truth was very believable.

That’s just the way Ava’s mind works. Her first instinct? “Cover Your Ass”

Also her second and third instinct. Which is why she called Scotty immediately, then hid NuJagger’s bag and constructed a very fake looking “accident scene”.

Fortunately Dante realized right away her story was a steaming pile of dragonshit, but she’ll probably demand that Scotty make an issue of Dante being the arresting officer, since the victim is his sister.

Brick’s pictures, of course will show the real story. Which will include not only the accident itself, but things that happened before then, like a mostly naked NuJagger standing in Ava’s room.

Obviously nobody really cares who Ava hooks up with in her personal life, but when he happens to be the FBI agent obsessed with Sonny, at a time when she is trying to take Sonny’s daughter away from him, well that’s going to raise all kinds of issues. Not just with our favorite “coffee importer” but also with Jagger’s FBI bosses… who are probably already investigating him, since his ridiculous “evidence” against Carly suddenly disappeared, and his login was the last one used to access the file.

I keep reading,” since they got rid of Pikeman”,and I’m confused. With all the action, etc. did it actually turn out to be Valentin?

I think Sonny’s people are going to make it look like Ava pushed her and that due to her fall doctors will need to take baby as she goes into labor. FBI agent is in hot water as they uncover Ava’s secret regarding Sonny’s meds. She should get arrested and he should be demoted and forced to leave area.

I think Ava is going to wish she was DEAD when Sonny gets his hands on her.

Wow!! I had a feeling something would happen to Kristina, but I don’t think anyone expected to see Kristina fall out the window and into the pool. What a way to shock the audience.

I knew someone was pointing a camera at Ava, not trying to shoot her as others assumed. Those photos might make it look like Ava intentionally pushed Kristina out the window since there is no way the duffle bag can be seen from that angle. Plus there’s the people that saw her fall out the window.

I’m sure Krissy and the baby will survive, but this ordeal may give Krissy a stronger desire to keep the baby.

I am behind on watching episodes, but I noticed something today watching the episode from 7/24. In that episode, Ava had a balcony where the window Kristina broke through is now.

Continuity has never been this show’s strongpoint.

Okay, on further review, this was a different window. The balcony is on the other side of the cabinet

However, I always understood that the Metro Court pool was on the roof. So how was Ava’s hotel room above the pool?

And that sudden taller building adjacent to the pool would’ve made Cody’s parachuting into Britt nearly impossible.

Exactly what I was thinking but didn’t know how to say it. Good thing she didn’t have a shovel handy to help dig that hole she made for herself.

Kristina is going to give birth and not be able to have any more children. She is going to fight to keep her child.

The baby dies,I read somewhere.

I’m in shock & can’t believe what I jus saw!! Brick’s fotos shud show it all. Can’t believe it! I hurried to change the channel (bcuz I watch at night w/o commercials), and saw the tragic beginning! Omg, that was craaaazy!!! So I changed the channel & wondered how long it wud take Josh to save her!.

Well, this might sound callous but the whole scene has me roaring with ribald laughter. First, you have Kristina twirling like a jewelry box ballerina before she crashed through the window, second, her scream sounded like one of those Halloween sound effect recordings, third, you had Gio looking like he was watching a classmate get pantsed in gym class, and finally, you have Brooklyn wearing the most hideous dress with the boots and belt only adding to the horror. At least Ava is already wearing prison-orange. Dark comedy at its best!

Is that what’s called a comedy of errors?

Why write these dramatic medical crisis storylines and fail to follow through featuring contract players working to save Kristina and the baby. I was expecting to see Portia, Terry and Liz working to save Kristina. But all we got was a set of extra cast members working on them off screen.

I miss the old days when the hospital was used for more than just a prop.

Kristina DID go to fight with ava

and Kristina Is having Her own baby she doesn’t want to sign the papers for her sister molly How ever I do understand if the papers say never see the baby and is being forced to relinquish right than she should take Avas side Sorry but this is what I take from avas understanding PLUS Kristina has seen Sonny threaten Jason and other people’s life in the metro court both Ava ND Sonny have had characters killed and than they come back to life sometimes

GH must have been happy with how it turned out since they showed time and time again on Monday’s episode. But thats okay, it was done really well. Geo looked like he was going to poop his pants! Joss is a lifeguard. She overreacted just a bit. Yeah, she works at a ritzy hotel where nothing ever happens so it had to surprise her but she seemed a bit to bothered by it. Nothing like sex with Dex to soother her mind! My guess is the actress who plays Ava is going to take a “Genie Francis” vacation and will show up a few months later with her brother Julian to solidify Jerome unity against Sonny. They wont kill her off. But for now, she has done too many bad things to not go on the run. And by the way, Kristina is 10 times better now with Kate Mansi portraying her. And the Molly recast is superb. T.J., a bust! The actor is not right for this part. But, thats small change. The stunt was great!

Question – Where is Michael? Kristina is his sister and no Diane at her bestie’s side??

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

By

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
