GENERAL HOSPITAL: Maxie Makes Her Choice: What Did You Think of Her Decision?
In an emotional General Hospital, the Monday, February 23rd episode held major moments for the future of Maxie (Kirsten Storms), Nathan (Ryan Paevey), Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and Lulu (Alexa Havins), as well as a turning point for Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), the first kiss between ADA Turner (Nazneen Contractor) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Michael (Rory Gibson) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) feud reaching new heights, while Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) sits with her son, Wiley (Viron Weaver) back in her arms.
There were plenty of touching performances, too. Chief among them from Kirsten Storms who remains a GH treasure, Bradford Anderson, who continues to make Spinelli the guy you want to root for, and Rick Hearst, who is still one of the best to ever do it in the genre.
The big story coming out of the episode was, who will Maxie choose to be with? Nathan (who has secretly developed feelings for Maxie’s bestie, Lulu) or Spinelli? Back at Maxie’s, Spinelli is with Lulu, where he admits his fear that Maxie’s love fo Nathan runs deep and he can’t compete against that type of love, because in actuality, he’s not fighting Nathan, he’s fighting the pull Maxie has in her heart. Lulu’s demeanor changed however when Spinelli claimed Nathan had been Maxie’s hero. It’s clear Lulu is trying to steel herself from being devastated also if Maxie and Nathan were back together. Then, Lulu hugged Spinelli telling him he is a hero, even if he didn’t end up getting the girl.

MAXIE’S HEART BELONGS TO …
At Nathan’s gravesite, Nathan and Maxie have their reunion, where they relive through a flashback their “final” moments together in the hospital before Nathan “died.” Maxie then explains her immense grief over losing him, that led her to get involved with Peter August, and even though that was a disaster, she did have a daughter because of it, Bailey Lou. She goes on to say, getting the chance to reunite with Spinelli made her happy.
Nathan wondered what that meant for the two of them. Maxie agreed that if they were to drag things out it would be harder on their children. She tells Nathan she has made her choice and that she will always love him. Cut to: later, Maxie comes home where Spinelli is there waiting for her. Maxie informs Spinelli that while she loves Nathan, that she is in love with him and he was her home. Spixie shared a kiss.

KEYS TO THE CASE
Ric is one savvy lawyer and not only does he get any charges dropped against Michael, he paints even more doubt about Chase, as ADA Turner and Dante were questioning Michael for Drew’s shooting after Drew’s key was found on his keychain. Ric explains that Wiley saw Chase with the keys. Michael gets beyond angry, Ric tells ADA Turner and Dante, that they need to let his client go, or this will all come out and both of them will probably lose their jobs.
Michael then storms into the Quartermaine kitchen, throws his keys at Chase, a massive fight ensues. Chase walks out, followed by Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton). Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) shows up and Michael asks his brother, if he once and for all believes he did not shoot Drew and Chase says he believes Michael.

NEW BEGINNINGS
Later, Ric shows up the Miller and Davis law office, and talks with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), where he gets emotional. Ric says aside from their daughter, Molly, Sonny and his kids are the only family he had. Alexis is skeptical of this new leaf, but Ric said time kidnapped in her basement made him realize how alone he’d been, He claims he has buried the hatchet with Sonny and wants some joy in his life.
At the end of the episode, ADA Turner comes to the bar for a needed drink and Sonny is there. They talk, then she exits, and then the two make out in the parking lot. Meanwhile, Lulu is also seated at a booth at the bar and in walks Nathan. They stare at each other. Will they now take their feelings for each other to a whole other level? Stay tuned.
So, are you happy Maxie chose Spinelli and not Nathan? Do you think everyone’s feelings for each other will stick? What did you think about Sonny kissing Turner? And Ric opening up to Alexis? Is anyone betting that Ric and Alexis might also hit the sheets sometime soon? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section, but first watch the emotional reunion of Maxie and Nathan below.
Some amazing acting on a very moving episode.
Bradford’s best work in years. The scene with Spinelli and Lulu on the couch was very touching.
What’s next for Maxie? Are we just going to have Deception stories?
I was never a big Ric Lansing fan in the past, but this time around Rick Hearst (and the writing for the character) have made me a big supporter. Having him be his most vulnerable with Alexis (of all people) was riveting.
A well deserved punch for Chase. Here’s hoping Justine isn’t falling for the dimpled Don and is playing him.
What an episode! So much emotions were poured out . I’m a Spinelli/ Maxie fan all the way and love the direction that they’re taking this long time connection and pairing so, yes, I’m extremely happy. I wouldn’t mind Lulu and Nathan as a couple but there’s always that question mark hanging- is this really Nathan? The most touching scene of the day goes to Ric and Alexis. You know what, these two are such a comedic pair that I would like to see them together once more. These actors play well off of each other- always have, always will.
Ric and Elizabeth
Rick Hearst was great I loved that scene too
Ric’s scene with Alexis stole the episode for me. I hope Maxie does stay with Spinelli, freeing up Nathan and Lulu to move forward with their new found feeling for each other.
Let the downfall of Chase begin… perhaps he deserves a bit of jail time !
Great episode, but all I have to say is Boo! Did you see the way Maxie and Nathan looked at each other? I love Maxie and Spinelli, but I LOVE Maxie and Nathan. I hope they eventually get back together. I already know why GH did this. To put Nathan and Lulu together and create drama for all of them. Maxie is going to flip out.
Agreed when it is all said & done
It will be maxie & nathan! #Naxie
I’m thrilled that Maxie realizes her future is with Spinelli. They have been off and on for years. They have finally built a beautiful, loving and secure family together. Fake Nathan cannot compete.
I hope Ric is on the level and this isn’t just a long con. Molly should have a father she doesn’t have to constantly apologize for. But, I don’t want him with Elizabeth. She definitely deserves better.
Glad Maxie chose Spenille
I’m also glad that Maxie chose Spinelli, and I’m SOOO glad that they didn’t drag it out for weeks, with Maxie wringing her hands in indecision! I also didn’t see or feel the same chemistry that Maxie and Nathan USED to have when he was on before. Even with them reminiscing, it was just blank. No love, no steam, not nothing. Their spark is gone.
And rather than Lulu and Nathan getting together right away, maybe they should just spend time together, and let MAXIE notice that they might be good for each other. That way, it won’t look like they’ve been making googly eyes at each other for the last 6 months!
Ric and Alexis stole the episode that day, and I expected nothing less from these two!
As a side note, GO Wiley!! And I cannot WAIT until Chase finds out that Willow really DID shoot Drew! Woohoo!!
I think general hospital has lost their Damm minds…I can’t believe they chose SPINELLIS STUPID ASS OVER NATHAN…SHITTT…
Kristen Storms was just fantastic I love her!
Exceptional episode! Thanks writers, actors, directors ❤️

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Cullum Kidnaps Obrecht as Britt’s Replacement to Finish Faison’s Final Project
WSB director Ross Cullum is truly as despicable villain as they come, and played with steely intensity by Andrew Hawkes. For the double agents latest crime, you need to look no further than the Friday, June 5 cliffhanger of General Hospital, where in the episode’s final moments he sneaks up on an unassuming Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) after hiding in the back seat of her car.
Next, he chloroforms her with his intent clear. He plans on forcing her to finish the last leg of Faison’s final project at Wyndemere, since her daughter Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) left town with Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) in tow to get away from Cullum!
In what led to the kidnapping, Cullum had a terse conversation with his business associate and co-conspirator on the project, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). It is Sidwell who is preoccupied with wanting to bring Marco’s killer to justice (not knowing it’s the man right in front of him!). Sidwell told Cullum if bringing Marco’s killer to justice wasn’t a priority for the WSB director, then why should protecting Cullum be a priority for him?
SIDWELL VS. CULLUM
The two finally put aside their differences as they have to complete Faison’s final project for it will be highly lucrative for them, useful for their mutual gains, and groundbreaking. In order to do that they need a great mind with a scientific background to finish it up and get them to the finish line since Britt as disappeared.
Later, outside of “General Hospital,” Obrecht is headed back to her car after searching Britt’s office for any clues as to the whereabouts of her daughter. But when she got in the car to drive away, that’s when the aforementioned Cullum strikes!

BROOK LYNN GETS ADVICE FROM A FORMER ADULTERESS
In other key developments, after Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) keeps inserting herself into Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) life, all with the seeming pretense to pay back Chase for helping her clear her name at the trial, and standing by her, she brings good news in person about baby Phoebe’s adoption to Alexis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) law office to Chase. Once Brook Lynn heard Chase was on her away over with paperwork, she decided to hightail it out of there for an “emergency” appointment for Deception.
As we come to find out, Brook Lynn meets up with Lucy (Lynn Herring) at the Metro Court pool, She then proceeds to inform Lucy about Willow sniffing around he husband. Lucy says she knows a thing or two about being an adulteress. Brook Lynn wants Lucy to help her send a clear message to Willow to stay away from her husband, or else!
Now below, check out the scenes before Obrecht was kidnapped where she visited Willow, Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) and suspects Willow is up to no good.
Then let us know, with Lucy taking Brook Lynn under her wing, what plot do you think the two will come up with against Willow? What do you think will happen to Obrecht? With Lucas also at Wyndemere trying to bait Sidwell into an attempted murder charge, will he winds up thrown in the secret room with Josslyn?
