GENERAL HOSPITAL: Olivia Jerome is Reportedly ‘Attacked and Killed’ in Pentonville

On Thursday’s February 16th episode of General Hospital, the name of Olivia Jerome was brought back into the story, and this time revealing that she apparently was attacked and killed while serving time in Pentonville.

In story while at the PCPD, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) gets a call about a prisoner, and later, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) tells Anna (Finola Hughes) that Olivia Jerome is dead.

It was back in 2017, when viewers last saw Olivia played by Tonja Walker in action in Port Charles, and causing so much trouble that eventually she wound up in jail.

Olivia ordered the hit on the car that exploded and killed Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) son, Morgan Corinthos (played by Bryan Craig).

In addition, in a bizarre experiment, Olivia kidnapped Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) and Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) and held them hostage in a lab in the basement of General Hospital in hopes of using Griffin to resurrect his father, and the “love” of Olivia’s life, Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan).

Eventually, Olivia was dragged off to an asylum and eventually prison following her court case. Now, apparently she is a-goner.

Now let us know, do you really believe Olivia is dead? Is she/was she involved in the arms deals and the shootings in Port Charles? Do you want to see Tonja Walker reprise her GH role? Comment below.

Back around 1990 – Olivia Jerome (or St. John as she originally went by) was mesmerizing. Those big eyes and hair. She lusted after Duke but seemed to find happiness with Colton (Lucy’s cousin) before Original Recipe Julian appeared to have killed her. Tonja Walker eventually wound in Llanview as Alex Olanov – another dynamic character.

When she returned from the dead, gone was any redemption she had with Colton and in its place was a cartoonish villain with Walker just a little over the top.

Saddened that they’re offing the character off camera. Was this one of Chris & Dan’s final decisions? We didn’t get enough chances to see Ava and Olivia interact.

As for Anna – most of her major enemies are now deceased (Faison, Peter, Victor Cassadine and now Olivia Jerome). Where’s Grant Putnam when we need him?

I’ll have to admit I was surprised to see Olivia show up in my office today. She was not on my Beelze-bingo card for “Likely Arrivals in Hell for February 2024”.

Last week, NuJagger claimed that the attempted hits on Sonny were part of a larger plan to take out at least 5 “major mob bosses”.

Well… OK… once upon a time Olivia Jerome might have fit that description, but last time I checked, the Jerome Crime Family was pretty much extinct. Julian has been down here for three years, Ava has been out of the business for a while now, and Olivia herself was both locked up in prison and batshit crazy, so I doubt she was capable of doing much.

Now my theory is that Lorenzo Alcazar has been the one targeting Sonny (and running Pikeman) but I don’t recall any sort of interaction between either of the Alcazar brothers and any variation of the Jerome family. In fact the Jeromes basically didn’t exist between the time Julian died in a shootout with Jonathan Paget (who he believed to be a surgically reconstructed Duke Lavery) and the day that ReRon invented Ava Jerome out of thin air as a sister that was never heard of before. So in other words, I don’t think the Alcazars & Jeromes were ever in Port Charles at the same time. So I will be eternally damned if I can think of why Lorenzo would bother killing crazy Olivia in Pentonville.

Maybe she got in a fight with Heather? Some sort of competition to see who was the craziest?

I wish they hadn’t killed her.

Sad and bad move ! Tonja Walker is always a delight to watch.

Totally and so pretty

Maybe she was the boss Austin and Mason were referring to. They always referred to their boss as “she” until they started talking about Cyrus.

Except the boss they referred to was always spoken of as a family member. And Austin hooked up with Ava, which he wouldn’t have done if he were a Jerome himself.

Cyrus did make some vague reference to Olivia Jerome while he was incarcerated in Pentonville. My Fuzzy Devil Memory isn’t recalling the context of his reference, but I don’t remember anything that implied she was involved with the “Pawtuck Mafia”.

Still say the female boss there was originally going to be Faith Roscoe and for whatever reason they pulled the plug on that at the 11th hour, threw Austin & Mason into Cyrus’ orbit, and forgot all about their boss’s previous pronouns.

And now that Austin is dead, Mason is long gone, and Cyrus is pretending to be “born again”, I doubt there will be any sort of “Pawtuck Mafia” connection to Olivia Jerome’s murder.

Probably more likely that Heather went slightly more nuts than usual and took her out.

So I assume the person that killed Olivia is also the person that killed Austin and is gunning for Sonny.

No I’m sure it’s just a ploy she is probably alive somwwhere

I think you may be on to something. Watching Friday’s GH and Anna Devane wants to see Olivia’s body ?? My guess is, it may not actually be Olivia they found dead in the woods. I guess we’ll have to wait and see ….. Stay tuned …..

Anna already viewed the body and confirmed it was Olivia Jerome.

You are the only one that seems to have it right unless Anna is not telling the truth and it really wasn’t Olivia, but what would be her motive and it’s not like there aren’t other people that have or will see the body. Also why wouldn’t Ava, as next of kiin, be called to identify the body also I found it odd that Alexis was the one to notify Ava.

Technically, you’re correct that Ava was the next of kin, so she probably should have been notified directly by the “authorities”. But of course the reality is that Ava barely knew her sister. They didn’t grow up together at all, and Ava didn’t even exist during the original Jerome Crime Family stories in the late 80s/early 90s. So in a very real sense, Anna knew Olivia much better than her own sister did, and had more history with Olivia than anybody else who is still alive in Port Charles.

Alexis probably just thought she would tell Ava out of “courtesy”, because she used to be very close to Julian, and he would have wanted Ava to hear it from somebody other than the media. Which is ironic.. since Alexis IS the media.

Since Ron and his connections are no longer writing the show, we won’t have it suddenly revealed that it was not Olivia but Alex Olanov from Llanview who is the spitting image of Miss Jerome. Her children Kim and Cutter – who are dead ringers for BLQ and Cody have to identify the body.

Luckily, we’re spared that on screen but would’ve been a hoot for OLTL fans.

Makes sense to me!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
