GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sidwell to Drew, ‘I Know Willow Put You in This Bed and She Couldn’t Have Done It Without Me’
In a major revelation, it was Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) who assisted Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) to put her husband, the now disposed congressman, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), in his stroke-like state! Sidwell’s plot to keep Drew out of his hair came to light on the Thursday, February 26 episode of General Hospital.
At first, Sidwell comes to Drew house’s to speak with Willow. He wants her implanted as the congresswoman to succeed Drew in the congressional seat to do his bidding. Willow is thankful for all of Sidwell’s help, but she has just begun getting visitation with her children Wiley and Amelia, and she had her hands full taking care of Drew.
Not willing to accept her answer, Sidwell strong arms Willow, with the fact that he knows exactly what she has done, and if he does not comply, she will lose her children and everything! Jenz says, “Given what I’ve done for you, we both know that refusing is not an option. All you need to understand is what I could do to you and your life if you refuse!” With that, Willow gets ready to change her clothes to get ready for Laura (Genie Francis) to announce she is the new congresswoman.

A SURPRISE VISITOR
Then, Sidwell, enter’s Drew’s room. He snidely leans over Drew’s bed with Drew blinking wildly. “Oh, Drew, I know that Willow put you in this bed, In fact, she couldn’t have done it without me.” A stunned Drew, who can’t speak knows he is in imminent danger.
Next, viewers got the backstory. Sidwell, with the help of some crooked cops at the PCPD, found out that Willow shot Drew (is that where the missing videotape footage went? So Sidwell could use it as leverage?).
As it turns out, Sidwell had a conversation with Willow off-screen and convinced her to drug Drew! As he explained to his ‘hostage, he knew of a certain paralytic that mimics the symptoms of a stroke and is completely undetectable. He reveals to Drew it’s the very thing that’s keeping him in a locked-in state. Since Drew was “nothing but a liability,” to him, Jenz decided to join forces with Willow to take him out of commission.

DREW’S REPLACEMENT OFFICIALLY NAMED
Sidwell later broke the news that Willow is taking Drew’s place in congress, and that she will skyrocket, “once she becomes your widow.” Sidwell also informed Drew that the caretakers in his house are all under his thumb, so he is not going anywhere, and if he tries he will suffer the “detrimental effects” of the drug he is being administered.
Meanwhile at City Hall via a livestream, Mayor Laura Collins announces that Willow Cain will be serving out the rest of her husband’s congressional term. Willow rises to the occasion and tells the people of Port Charles, as a nurse and a mother, she will be a great fit for this new political career that has entered her life. Sidwell is pleased! Drew is appalled.
So, what did you think of the reveal that Sidwell is Willow’s co-conspirator? Now that she is so trapped because Sidwell will risk taking everything from her and turning her in as Drew’s shooter, how will Willow navigate this? How will Drew be saved, or should he be? Share your theories via the comment section below.
This entire Sidwell story is approaching Teddy Balkan levels of cartoon absurdity. Maybe it’s time they brought Bob Guza back to save the clusterphuck writing on this show.
His writing on Beyond The Gates is proof that he’s still capable of doing the work.
That would totally be a step in the right direction! When Sidwell exits, hopefully he will take Marco with him!
I thought Sidwell was going to poke Drew on the nose to show his total control. Love how Sidwell explained all to Drew.
Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) is a great villain and his butler reminds me of GL days with Quint and Nola in that old mansion with Ms. Renfield played by the wonderful Beulah Garrett. Love it.
And Beulah Garrett is now 104 years old!

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
