General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Lulu and Nathan Kiss; Charlotte and Danny Kiss, Tracy Recalls Her Relationship with Luke Spencer
The Thursday, January 29 episode of General Hospital had social media abuzz, after who wound up in a smooch, plus gave us some bread crumbs for potential pairings that could shake up the canvas as the Port Charles blizzard continued to strand everyone from Spoon Island and everywhere in between.
Let’s break down the duos of who are riding out the snow storm, and what we think of their future could be starting with a long-awaited moment and conversation between Martin (Michael E. Knight) and Tracy (Jane Elliot).
The two embroiled sworn enemies put their gloves down, sort of, and found common ground. From the well-written dialog in their scenes, it’s clear to us that Martin and Tracy may just have a shot at romance, if things continue to thaw between them.
TRACY AND MARTIN

In story, while stuck at Drew’s, Martin goes at Tracy for breaking up his relationship with Lucy Coe and making him believe she cheated on him with Scott Baldwin, which she wound up doing, anyways. Tracy points out Martin’s ability to pick the wrong type of women who bleed him try. That’s when Martin pipes up about Tracy’s ex Luke Spencer (the late Anthony Geary) marrying her for her money. Tracy admits it may have started that way, but then laments about Luke.
Tracy recalled, “Later (in our relationship), we both realized that what we had was worth more than money and was worth fighting for. What Luke had with Laura had nothing to do with what he had with me. And I am so grateful that we found each other when we did. Luke and I found each other long after he and Laura had divorced. And nothing about our relationship was easy or convenient. It was just necessary. We had to have past loves and broken hearts and children of our own for us to see each other clearly and honestly. Martin, what I’m saying is that you are never going to have a lasting relationship until you can look at the woman you love and see her for who she is, not who you want her to be.”
Martin is cued into Tracy’s words of wisdom. Does he realize he has feelings for her and vice-versa? In our recent livestream interview with Michael E. Knight. he theorized that Tracy and Martin would make an excellent pairing, because when you hate someone so much on the soaps, it must be love!
CHARLOTTE AND DANNY

Courtesy/ABC
Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) end up at the gatehouse at the Q’s, since it was too stormy to get to Carly’s. Next, Charlotte gets a text from Lulu and let’s her mom know she’s safe. As Danny talks about eating s’mores, and Charlotte talks about Valentin and things, some of the s’more is in the corner of Danny’s mouth, which Charlotte goes to clean off, but the two wind up kissing.
Immediately, GH fans on X were outraged shouting that the two are actually cousins. However, when you look at their lineage, they are actually second cousins once removed. Still, will fans want to see them in a relationship together? It looks like this is where GH is headed with their teen romance story.
LULU AND NATHAN

After hearing that Charlotte is safe, Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) decide to wait out the storm together. However, Lulu spices things when after looking for blankets, finds a bottle of booze and she suggests they play the drinking game, ‘Two Truths and a Lie.” Things take a turn, when Nathan is able to recite the periodic table of elements sharing that his father drilled it into him as a child. Lulu looks at Nathan a bit suspicious, and questions him, since he’d previously said his father never paid attention to him.
Clearing covering something up, Nathan says his dad pushed him into science, but that he lost interest when he wasn’t smart enough to follow in his footsteps. Suddenly, the two hold hands when Lulu thanks Nathan for everything he did for her tonight and then the two share a passionate lip-lock. Oh no, Maxie! The only way out of this: It would have to be proven that this man is another son of Faison’s, an identical twin of Nathan’s, who fell for Lulu and isn’t really Nathan at all. Thoughts?
CARLY AND VALENTIN

Courtesy/ABC
We kind of liked these two the best, because they shared a bond over it being unbearable to never see your child again, which Carly (Laura Wright) has experienced. That seemed to show Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) to her in a new light as he braved the blizzard for a short time to try to find his daughter, Charlotte, but ultimately had to turn back. At one point, Carly got her winter clothes to try to help him, whether she admitted it, or not. It would be very unexpected if they paired Valentin and Carly together, and more juicy because of Brennan’s feelings for her, plus what if Anna Devane gets out of captivity and Valentin fell for Carly, would he still run to help Anna? (We think so) So, it’s kind of messy in a good soapy way if this moves forward.
BRITT AND JASON

Courtesy/ABC
Jason (Steve Burton) finds Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) soaking wet and freezing, and gets her to the harbor master’s cabin. She explains as she shivered that the boat she was on capsized on its way back to the mainland from Spoon Island. At that point, Jason says he really wants to help her as Britt says she’s been lying to him this whole time, which Jason was prepared for. Now awaiting an explanation of what she had been dealing with, Britt tells Jason she’s being forced to complete Faison’s last project otherwise they’ll let her die from Huntington’s. Jason wants to know who “they” are and Britt looks concerned. Will she finally tell Jason, the whole truth, nothing but the truth, so help her God, or stall? We won’t know till Friday as they episode came to its conclusion.
So, what did you think about Charlotte and Danny’s kiss, Lulu and Nathan’s make out sesh? Tracy and Martin and Valentin and Carly bonding, while Jason and Britt finally draw closer? Let us know via the comment section below.
Thank you GH writers! Well written dialog!!! I enjoy watching GH everyday. So many stories running in one episode. Take Y&R today, a total of 6 actors, 6, that’s it. 3 scenes, boring. Dialog seems forced and taking stories nowhere. Then I watch GH tonight, What were there, a dozen actors, fast paced, interesting conversations. GH should have more viewers, but ABC has given up on daytime with just the View, GH and GMA2. Too bad. Glad I got hooked on GH again after a several year absence. I know long time viewers aren’t happy with everything they are seeing, but compared to Y&R, this is heaven.
Agree, y and r is horrible. I stopped watching. GH is fantastic, I love it
The problem with the pre-teen/teenage set is so many of them are blood related:
Danny: Quartermaine-Cassadine-Jerome
Rocco: Corinthos-Falconeri-Spencer
Charlotte: Cassadine-Spencer
Avery: Corinthos-Jerome
Leo: Jerome-Falconeri
Aiden: Spencer
Jake: Quartermaine
Georgie: – no conflicts!
They said, the cousins connection between Danny and Charlotte is off- putting. Bring in a strong actress for Georgie and let her be torn between Danny and Rocco. Noah Robert Drake could work with either Charlotte or Avery (when they SORAS her).
I find Danny and Charlotte cringey too and don’t want to see them together, but they aren’t cousins. We learned a few years ago that Valentin is Helena’s son, not Stavros’s, making Charlotte Helena’s granddaughter. And Danny is a descendant of Stavros, not Helena.
Sorry, I was totally wrong about Valentin’s parentage and also used the name Stavros when I meant Mikkos. Ugh! What was I thinking? lol
There’s been so many Cassadines and retcons so that’s understandable. Mikkos is Danny’s great grandfather while his brother Victor is Charlotte’s grandfather. Not a genealogist, but I believe that makes Danny and Charlotte second cousins once removed.
Only one of these potential pairings makes any sense, and that’s Britt & Jason.
And for the love of all that’s unholy… no to Charlotte & Danny. This is General Hospital, not Duck Dynasty. Don’t need to watch teenage cousins hooking up. Unless they’re finally going to admit that Charlotte is the other missing embryo from the same batch Rocco came from, and that Dante has been her actual father all along.
If she’s got no Cassadine DNA, then she and Danny might have a future?
2nd cousins once removed may legally marry. They are far enough apart genetically speaking. People would probably be surprised how often this happens. BUT let’s remember these are kids…and kids experiment. Tomorrow they may think…eeewwwww lol or the adults find out ams explain why it might not be a good idea. And most of the legit reason…is that people will be giving them their opinion for all their lives lol
Britt and Jason have no chemistry tho. All the other ‘pairings’ have them beat.
Yes to Tracy and Martin, big NO to Charlette and Danny, no matter how many cousins removed they are, although both actors are freaking cute, and didn’t she date Jake? No to Valentin and Carly, I want Valentin for Anna, although I do like that Carly has soften up to Valentin, and another no to Britt and Jason, but this one I know the show doesn’t listen to fans who want to see liz and Jason together, and last Lulu and fake Nathan? mainly because is he really Nathan or his twin? plus Maxie is gonna wake up soon and finally get this fake Nathan storyline going.
Charlotte and Danny kissing is weird, but it’s not as weird as Rudy Giuliani having married his cousin.
First Cousin Marriage is actually legal in 19 states, including New York State, so the distant cousin situation is not unfamiliar, especially here in Upstate NY. My neighbors are actually married first cousins, and they have three adorable children. Not saying it is an ideal genetic/DNA situation, but it does happen. I’m just glad that GH is casting and providing storylines for the young generation since Y and R has completely dropped that ball even though their name includes Y = Young! I got hooked on Guiding Light when Beth, Philip, Mindy, and Rick created a fantastic young love quadrangle and ran away to NYC in the middle of winter. Now I am 55 but my kid is 20 and very much in love with his GF. These kids/young adults need some adventures to fall in love before settling down and starting families.
I was being facetious.
I meant to create my own comment (sorry if the “Reply” button was pressed.) Rudi on the other hand is a whole other scenario that I have no desire even begin thinking about.
It’s fine.
This is what I was afraid of… Lulu and Nathan, whether he’s fake or not. My mom said it best: “I’d rather watch paint dry”. There’s less than zero chemistry there for me. Carly and Valentin are an interesting combo but she’s still sleeping with Brennan. Even Carly must have a recovery period!
great episode
GH is my favorite show. Carly and Valentine are most interesting and messy at the same time

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things:Â Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.Â
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
