GENERAL HOSPITAL: ‘When Cody Met Lulu’, Are You Down for a Romance Between the Two?

By Michael Fairman

Lulu Spencer’s (Alexa Havins) return to the living may have just taken a very unexpected and welcome turn. On Tuesday’s, November 26th episode of General Hospital, Lulu’s escape from Turning Woods, led her to the side of road, hitchhiking, and looking for a ride to get her out of dodge.

Lo and behold, who should drive by and stop, but Cody (Josh Kelly)! At that point, Lulu gets in the car. He asks her if she is OK and she claims that she and her boyfriend got into a fight in his car, and he left her at the side of the road. She really appreciates Cody stopping for her.

When Cody asks where is she going, she in turn asks him where he’s headed. Cody says home to Port Charles. She says that’s where she lives, too. Cody offers her a lollipop and initially she doesn’t like the flavor, but then after hearing Cody talk about them, she says the flavor of the lollipop is growing on her.

Lulu asks what the day is, and Cody tells her it’s November 26. However, in a key point, the year was never mentioned. Lulu says her brother’s birthday is coming up and she didn’t want to miss it. The two chitchat about family and Lulu says family is everything, and she can’t wait to see her two kids. She tells Cody it seems like forever since she has seen them.

Eventually, Cody drops her off a few blocks away from her destination. He gives her some money, and his phone number, and tells Lulu his name. She, in turn, does not reveal her name.

Photo: ABC

Lulu finds herself at a familiar doorstep, which is Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms) house. At the end of the episode, as Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) is inside Maxie’s house learning that she is pregnant with Michael’s (Chad Duell) child, Lulu is outside the front door. Because Lulu and Maxie are besties, she knew exactly where Maxie keeps the extra house key. Lulu retrieves it from underneath the planter and begins to use it to open the front door and we fade to black.

In story, viewers still do not know if Lulu remembers that she is still in love with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), which happened shortly before the blast that landed her in a coma four years ago (and caused her then boyfriend Dustin’s death), or if she thinks she is married to Dante, or doesn’t remember any of that at all.

So, what did you think about the connection made between Lulu and Cody? Is this the plan for Lulu to have feelings now for Cody? Is a love triangle on tap between Dante/Lulu/Cody which would pit the two men who have been friends and odds? And now what will happen to Sasha, pregnant with Michael’s child, with the impending exit early next year of Chad Duell? Share your reactions, thoughts, and theories via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes where Cody met Lulu below.

Technically, Cody first met Lulu when he went to her GH room with Dante over a month ago. They should’ve gave him a “you look kind of familiar” line.

That said, there did seem to be palpable chemistry between the two.

A pairing of a Spencer and a Scorpio. Could be a good move.

Cody is also supposed to be Dante’s best friend… should he not have seen at least one picture of Lulu at some point? Seems implausible that he just happened upon her and doesn’t recognize who she is.

Sweet sexy Cody could chemistry with a lamp

Which is why Cody should hook up with Willow.

OMG, bite your to tongue, yuk, etc, etc!

Neither character knew each other prior so a “romance” is possible but I think unlikely. There are many more deep issues facing Lulu so the timing is off. Please, no more storylines!

Maxie lives in Lulu’s old house.

Not already. I really think the writers muffed this up by having Cody sit with Lulu (which was strange anyway) and now not recognize her. Yes, it was dark, and she was wearing a hoodie. And, yes, the hoodie may have hidden her face some and sometimes when you see someone at an unexpected place you don’t put two and two together ~ but this is stretching things if they’re going to pair these two.

GH is hitting some great highs in their stories while hitting great lows in others. I wish the writing was more even.

So what in Hell’s name was the point of killing off Sam, if not to free up Dante for a reunion with Lulu?

I love Sasha and Cody together. But both characters are likeable and I cheer for them together or separately. I don’t like GH separated them but I guess this is where we’re at. In the land of make believe, I think Luke would rather see Lulu with Cody than Dante. Laura would welcome Cody with loving arms. And we know Tracy would love the pairing. Just please GH, quit writing such horrible circumstances for Sasha. Let her catch a break for once please.

While Luke and Robert were friends, there was no love lost between Mac and Luke, so I’m not sure Luke would want his daughter with Mac’s son. For newer viewers, Felicia had a (stomach turning) dalliance with Luke 25 years ago. Mac and Luke also butted heads frequently due to Mac’s job as Police Commissioner.

You make good points. Yes Omg the nightmares. The Luke and Felicia pairing. Horrid.

Absolutely I agree. Other than Nina , Sasha seems to be the ” whipping girl” on GH Ad Nausea. GH seems to pick one character that is the Teflon personna and one that can’t make a positive move. Glad to see Lulu bounced back so miraculously! What next?

yes, lets ruin another friendship, who cares at this point GH is trying to mix and match and make everything messy anyways no boundaries whatsoever, they got kissing cousins and uncle screwing nephews wife, and mob killer free after killing and FBI agent, creepy criminal uncle in charge of nieces healthcare, and on an on an on. So yeah lets all be ok with Cody hooking up with Lulu, because that’s what friends do with their Best friend ex wife.

Good descriptions. Especially what you said about Cyrus. Yuck that character is irredeemable.

YOU ARE SO FLIPPIN SPOT ON. GH writers S U X, INCEST CENTRAL over there. The town ain’t! THAT small.

100% I want to see Cody in a adventurous strong story soon. The talents of Josh Kelly are yet to be fully utilized.

Well seeing how GH likes to take 2 years to launch a romance – then just when we are rooting for the couple = they pull the rug out from under us. That WILL BE 2006 FOLKS – if GH lasts that long.

I guess it is okay if they stumble around the whole Dante issue for a while. But mark my words Cody will never be as happy as he was with Sasha.

It doesn’t matter what the fans think. If a couple is happy together, GH writers will rip them apart immediately.

So true. Sadly true.

Or, one of them will wear 8 layers of clothing in bed – taking any romance out of the scene.

I have been impressed with Alexa so far after not being familiar with her work on All My Children.

Have not watched the show in years but RH is gold always has been

I’m ready for something different. Any chance of Valentin and Charlotte returning now? Since Valentin adores Charlotte, would he seek revenge on Cyrus for trying to kill Charlotte’s mother? Cyrus may have have also killed Sam, a Cassadine. Valentin is on good terms with Alexis and would not be happy to know she’s suffering. I don’t know. Probably wishful thinking on my part. Valentin does have some redeeming characteristics sometimes.

James Patrick Stuart has moved to Oregon. That doesn’t preclude him from making appearances as Valentin as other recurring cast members (John York, Rena Sofer) now fly in for their episodes. With Valentin gone, it does appear we’re on an extended absence from all things Cassadine.

I think it would be dumb to make Lulu and Cody a couple. I thought killing Sam off was the perfect opportunity to reunite Lulu and Dante. It’s bad enough that Lulu came out of a FOUR YEAR COMA to immediately walk and talk!

Yeah…What Up With THAT? what abt the Major Surgery and anti rejection drugs required? And the ATROPHY of limbs and Body from laying around 4 yrs ?

GH is disappointing me in so many ways and I have watched for years. I hate when they break up couples that belong together ( Sam and Jason for one ). They were an epic couple and the chemistry was amazing. I never really got onboard with the Sam and Dante dynamic ( to each their own). Carly and Sonny were a force like no other and they broke them up. Now , Michael and Willow! Come on GH , get it together. And don’t get me started on the new Drew. It’s disgusting how you have turned him into a big gigolo with him sleeping his way through 3 top women on the show, shame on you! Now you go and kill off one of the most beautiful and impressive, strong willed and long running characters, Sam. Why!!? Not only do you kill her off, now she has a long lost child? I hope you don’t think this will please too many fans. I for one am disgusted with the whole thing. I love GH but you’re about to lose a Huge faithful fan. One more thing, Sasha pregnant by Michael , give me a break!! Keep doing stuff like this and I’m not the only one who will consider calling it quits with the show

Agree completely

Hey I am out. It gets worse everyday. Too many women having kids by the same man. How do you explain that to the kids?

No, no Cody and lulu. They need to put lulu and Dante back together even if it takes a little bit.

It will take more than a little bit with Cody and Lulu if it even happens. Reminder unless a couple thumps together in a drunken blind sex scenario or due to some kind of passion – it takes GH 2 years (lookin at 2026 here folks) for the couple to actually be happy. Then GH will either go for it or gut all the fans out like a dead fish. GH will pull the rug out after 2 years of rooting for the romance. So we have quite a bit of time for Dante to explore all the angles w/Lulu.

No way, it would cause conflict between Dante and Cody!

Absolutely no Cody and Lulu should not get into a relationship that’s betrayal to Dante for one thing and yes Cody knew about Lulu. The writers have really screwed up on this one

Unfortunately, I think the silly end game right now for the moment w/Cody is Lulu. If for nothing else than to stop at least half the fans screaming about their break-up. Have to admit it is nice to see Cody work with more than 5 -8 people on this show. Officially he has never met Laura or Ana. Considering Cody is one of Frank’s golden boys, he is utilized very little. There is so much about the Dominique story to be told.
GH TPTD when they messed with one of the longest slow burn couples in history and somehow thought pairing Sasha back with woodchuck Micheal was a great idea ( because they had SO screwed it up the first time) How’s that workin out for ya now GH (HA HA HA),
Cody’s been on GH for 3 years now and not had sex – not even a one nighter. So fear not it will more than likely take till 2026 to get things rolling. With lots of Cody comes clean to Lulu spoilers. Then at the apex of their love story. Horrible Holly will come back to town and say NO – Lulu is Cody’s sister! or something will happen so that Frank can have a bomb of a twist during November sweeps or something that will leave us all gutted like dead fish.
I don’t trust the writing in this show one bit. Unless Frank works magic and puts Cody & Sasha back into one piece – I will never trust their storytelling again.

One last thing – I do not want to see a forgiveness reunion tour between Sasha and her mother. She wasn’t there for Sasha during the worst part of her life – and did not even ask about Liam when she came back to town – In fact – first words out of her mouth “what kind of con are you running at the Q’s? I do not want to see Cody and Holly on a “let’s be friends” tour. Holly comes back I will go dark and won’t even tape the show.

I think Cody and Sasha should still be together having proven Holley lying about her birthright. I Like them as a couple. Lulu and Dante can trip the light fantastic all over again getting to know each other all over again.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Published

By

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Published

on

By

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

Chad Duell

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Courtesy/ABC

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.  I was working with Dominic  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.

You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.

Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

Published

on

By

Ric

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.

Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.

Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL

Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.

A VENGEFUL PAST

As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.

On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision of  Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.

Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife. Elizabeth stepped aside, and when Ric planned to propose to Elizabeth at the 2015 Nurses Ball, Carly exposed his manipulations, and Elizabeth dumped him yet again. And those are just two examples of the lengths Ric will go to for Elizabeth!

So, we ask you, given the history of Elizabeth and Ric, how do you see this playing out with Dante in the picture? How will Ric derail their growing bond? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
