General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: WSB Agent Josslyn Jacks
On General Hospital, the WSB may soon have its newest spy if Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) has anything to do with it. Jack has taken control of cleaning up the scene where Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) shot and killed Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) after firing two bullets from her late boyfriend, Dex Heller’s, gun.
In the pick-up on the Friday, February 21st episode, Jack comes into the cabin, where a dead Cyrus Renault is on the ground and Josslyn is holding the gun. Joss had called Jack for help after she defended herself against Renault who was coming at her with an ax!
Jack tells Josslyn to hand him the gun; they need to take care of this themselves without involving the police. Josslyn says that no one will believe that she killed Cyrus in self-defense. Jack says once the WSB is involved, no one can know what happened. He tells her she must keep quiet about the whole night and the shooting. Josslyn promises she can stay quiet. He tells her he’ll take care of this, and implores her to tell no one she was there at the cabin.

Now back at the WSB bureau’s office in Port Charles, Jack tells her to go shower off any evidence, and that there are clothes for her to put on and to leave everything she had on behind. Josslyn is stunned. When she goes to shower, she has a flashback of the moment where she kills Cyrus. In the present day, she runs to the toilet to throw up.
Colette (Mercedes Lopez Renard) enters Jack’s office and he informs her that Josslyn killed Cyrus. He explains Cyrus attacked Lucky and Elizabeth and there is now an APB out on him and it won’t take long before Anna will find the cabin. She must hurry and make sure the cabin is cleaned up with no signs of the shooting, except for one thing.

Josslyn returns as Jack puts the gun in his safe. All of a sudden things take a turn. Jack shows Josslyn the photo of Cyrus with a knife behind Dex; which means he had the evidence to go to the police with. However, he says he wanted to see what Josslyn would do. Suddenly, Jack tells Josslyn she’s special and she would make a great agent for the WSB and wants her to join his team.

Shocked and stunned, Josslyn says that protecting herself doesn’t make her a spy, but he disagrees. When Jack questions on her and what happened at the cabin, Josslyn shares she found the hospital ID bracelets of Sam and Dex and the others and how Cyrus showed up with an ax. Next, Jack gives Josslyn cash for a new phone. He instructs her to tell everyone she lost her other phone. Jack also gives her the keys to her car, which he had brought to the bureau. He checks that she will keep this all between them. As she exit, Jack says “We’ll be in touch.”

As she exits, Collette returns and says to Jack that she cannot believe she just gets to leave here, just like that. Jack counters with, “Yes, and when she comes back, it’s better she thinks it’s her idea.”
As previously reported, General Hospital’s head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten noted on the storyline: “We’ll soon learn why. Brennan’s presence in Port Charles and his proximity to Carly is no accident. His feelings for Carly are accidental, though, and those feelings will come into direct conflict with his intentions for Josslyn.”
So, what is going on here? Does Jack have a plan to bring someone down and is going to use Josslyn do it who would be unassuming to her family, friends and the community? Is Jack trying to help Joss or going to ultimately blackmail her into working for the WSB? What did you think of the twist? Can you see Josslyn as full-fledged WSB spy and enjoying it? just when you thought the writing could not get worse…..
I know, right?
It’s awful.
The writer’s chose the wrong person, as usual to be WSB agent, should have been Emma!!! Joss did everything wrong at that crime scene! I realize it’s a soap, but make it make sense!
That’s hilarious! They have ruined Emma who’s acting more like some high school kid than a college student. Maybe the Girl Scouts could use her money raising skills. I’m not crazy about Joss, but it’s hard believing they grew up together , vying for Spencer’s attentions.
Joss should have called Jason to help her out, and not Brennan. Either one could have effectively disposed of Cyrus’s body and cleaned up the scene. But there wouldn’t have been “strings attached” if Jason did it. Or even Sonny, for that matter.
That’s what I said too if she called sonny n jason
This is a while later, but I was just thinking back to howJoss got stuck joining the WSB when it was not her intention. Why didn’t she call Jason ? Or Sonny . Either one would’ve taken care of it with their best intentions for her safety only . She is family to them . Why call Jack? I don’t like how Jack basically made her join the WSB . She’s just a a college kid. ! Today he had her bfc. Vaughn Taken away from Vivan for ignoringhis orders to stay away from Joss .Jack is attractive and charming but too dangerous! , I’m glad Carly is now on to him.! I’m surprised he didn’t notice that she was much colder to him today..
That little twit, all she does is cause trouble and gets in her own way. The writers apparently don’t know her like we do!
Well, she is Carly’s daughter after all… nuff said.
Not necessarily feeling chemistry with McKenna & Wright. He is selling it, however, as a powerful WSB agent. His methodical delivery when explaining the situation to Joss and details to Colette was spot on.
Actually like the concept of Joss as a WSB agent – if the writers can pen plausible stories for her in that position.
I agree. As a WSB agent, he is cunning, sinister, and dangerous, but the ship with Carly has sailed.
She can play “Spy Girl” but it doesn’t mean she’ll be good at it, she’s too emotional, among other things.
I remember when there was talk of Emma following in her grandparents footsteps instead they turned her into a bratty teenager even though she’s supposed to be in college and in her early 20’s now, so although I love everything WSB, I wish the show would have the old WSB we loved with Anna and Robert, and they should bring in Annie, Sean and Tiffany daughter who is supposed to be an actual WSB agent. I’m not mad at bad WSB agents like Jack lurking around but I’m not sure I like this twist with Joselyn being forced to work for the WSB, is she going to the “farm” or do they just hand out WSB badges to anyone ? is the criteria killing someone? these two writers need to be fired, they made alll of 2024 of GH painful to watch, I’m not quitting my show but they really got to go.
I guess someone like Jack can recruit who he thinks is right for the job, even with him knowing that Carly will be livid when she finds out. Joss isn’t really being ” forced” but certainly coerced into something that certainly is her cup of tea, I don’t think Jack will have too much trouble signing her up.
Joss did everything wrong from the start:1.She blabbed to Cyrus letting him know he was the suspect in Dex’s murder. 2. She went to Cyrus’s cabin without telling anyone or requesting backup and 3. She left her fingerprints all over the ace, the gun and the cabin. I guess the writers are grooming her to be the next Anna Devane, aka, Emma Peal. I predict that Sidwell’s son will be Joss’s new love interest, hence creating a starstruck WSB universe reminiscent of Anna and Robert and later, Anna and Duke.
You’ve got some valid ideas but I’m concerned that this son of Sidwell and Natalia will most certainly not be a good thing for Joss. Didn’t his singer sister , forgot her name already, have some unpleasant things to say about her brother when she was still there in P.C?
I agree writers are terrible and I really dislike the new Brennan he’s as slimy as Drew blackmailing a young girl to be a WSB agent. I hope Carly and Jason find out and shut him down. We need to writers before General Hospital gets canceled
I’ve pretty much quit. Making Sonny kill Cates made absolutely no sense. Cy, ok, I get that, but having the feds sniffing around?
I think it made plenty of sense, it got rid of him, didn’t it? He was such a pain in the butt.
Emma is not a teen; she’s 21. She mentioned that when she spoke to Anna; that she’s over 21. She, Joss, Trina, and Gio are supposed to be around the same age now.
I think it’s actually one of the best storylines I have seen in a while. I think Joss’s character would be a great spy and she seemed to enjoy and be a natural at finding the evidence on Cyrus. Taking her in a new direction is gonna save her, what else is she gonna do now if she doesn’t do this? , So I like where this one is going.
But Joss didn’t “ find” any evidence. It was spoon fed to her by Brennan.
Joss makes no sense… now if you told me someone was recruiting Trina, our favorite art historian in training (i.e., built in travel cover) to the WSB I would buy it more. The only way this tracks for me is if Uncle Jerry is actually alive & well
I guess if ABC was going to produce a reality show called,”WSB’s Dumbest Agents”, sure, I could see a place fir Joss.
I guess the writers have been binge watching Alias. It could be worse. They could have Joss, Trina and Emma become Brennan’s Angels.
And this gets dumber and dumber by the day
This show gets deeper & deeper into poor storylines & way more poor writing!!!!
I watch in 10 minutes on tape just to see what I want & definitely NO Drew!!!
This is the worst plot twist. Fans aren’t happy.
Also bad is the way they changed Drew and Willow. The chemistry isn’t there .
Ya think?
I absolutely love the idea of joss being a WSBagent she is such a natural badass! I just don’t like that she would be hiding it from her mom I DO NOT WANT TO SEE this be a reason for Carly & Joss to have a problems in their mother/daughter bond. I absolutely Love LOVE LOVE their relationship.
Oh, my God! Do you really think Joss would be able to do her job, without her mother constantly interfering and tell her what to do and how to do it? What show have you been watching?
Please do not have Josselyn joining ranks with Brennen. That storyline is off the rails.
This story is fail, Joss cannot do an Alias storyline. Frank focus on wrong character in young twenty’s age group. This storyline also cheapens Sam death. Makes Dex death more important. Eden is a weak actress, makes this story harder to sell. Emma more suited for an Alias storyline. The new Emma is a better actress.
I’d think you’ll find most disagreeing with you. Eden is NOT a weak actress. You might not like the way Joss is written, but Eden delivers. If she didn’t, the show would’ve recast a long time ago.
I’m joining this discussion months later happened since but I will never understand why Joss called Jack instead of Jason or Sonny after she killed Cyrus and self-defense. Jason and Sonny would’ve fixed everything cleaned up the place etc ! and taken her home safely and that would’ve been the end of it. She should be enjoying her college been following the orders of Jack Brennan who is now her mother’s boyfriend Carly knows the whole story to doesn’t like it and is getting a goods on Brennan by pretending to still be interested in him. At the end of the show he has.Vaughn d dragged away because apparently he was told not to see Joss and he did anyway . I missed a few episodes here and there so I’m not up sure what’s going on regarding Vaughn.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away, and I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things. Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH) and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that A Martinez, when he felt like he had a great show or great scenes would mark it down. So, when Emmy Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing his mom, Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. It wasn’t for him. I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremonies to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment from the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve and Bradford below.
Now, let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
