General Hospital Recasts Aiden Spencer with Colin Cassidy
If you catch today’s September 30th episode of General Hospital, there is yet another new face to the character of Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and Lucky’s (Jonathan Jackson) son, Aiden Spencer.
Actor, Colin Cassidy is now playing the part. Aiden is Elizabeth’s youngest of her three sons. Prior to Cassidy, Jason David played Aiden from 2012-2021. Next, Enzo De Angelis was cast and then in May of this year, Tristan Riggs took over as Aiden.
The actor told Soap Opera Digest, he is very excited to take on the role of Liz and Lucky’s only son. “Aiden is a very sweet young man. He’s loving, caring, thoughtful. He’s ambitious; he’s got his baking business and he works hard in school. But I think the most important thing to him is his family — especially his mom. He’s very protective of his mom. He trusts her; he feels like he can be himself with her.”

Colin also knows what an opportunity is to work with the GH veteran and popular star, Rebecca Herbst as his mom and five-time Daytime Emmy-winner, Jonathan Jackson as his dad, “To be thrown in with the incredible actors I’m working with and have these amazing scenes to do. It’s really not something to scoff at! It’s a big deal and I’m very grateful.”
Taking to his Instagram once the casting news of being GH’s Aiden became public, Colin shared: “I/m so unbelievably honored and grateful to be a part of GENERAL HOSPITAL! Thank you so much for all the love and support already, it really means the world to me🤍🙏My first episode airs today and you can tune in on ABC or Hulu! Can’t wait to hear what yall think of Aiden!🤞

Jonathan Jackson, who started his GH career as a kid as the 11-year-old son on-screen son of legends, Tony Geary and Genie Francis also shared with SOD, his thoughts on the beauty of soap opera’s and its enduring legacy as now Colin is going to be playing Lucky’s son, Aiden: “That’s another amazing part of this medium that is so unique … and then get to come back as an adult and Lucky has his own grown son … it’s really a very unique and special thing.”

I wasn’t sure what to think as he looks older than Aiden, but he was great in his scenes with Liz today. I love that all of her boys are so close to their mom. I hope he sticks around a while because I think he could be part of the teen scene, which has all but disappeared on GH, despite having multiple teenage cast members.
I look forward to seeing him act along side Jonathan Jackson and Becky Herbst and hopefullyHudson West if/when he returns. He fits in perfectly with Jake and Cameron.
Visually, he looks like he could be the offspring of Jackson & Hersbt. Acting in episode one was good.
There’s some online scuttlebutt about him being too old, but doesn’t really seem to be an issue.

Is he related to either David Cassidy or Shaun Cassidy?
No he isn’t but if he would have been related to David he would have been related to Shaun and Ryan too. The 3are brothers. .he makes a good Aiden
He looks so much like a young Shaun Cassidy I thought he could have been a son or grandson!
I’m not sure why they keep recasting these roles. This is the third Aiden this year. It’s getting hard to keep track of, remembering who’s who with the kids. A lot of them look alike. Colin definitely looks like he could be a Spencer, and be Lucky and Elizabeth’s son. But he also looks older than someone that is supposed to be the youngest brother of Cameron and Jake. I wish him the best.
Like I said the last time they recast Aiden, and it didn’t come to fruition, I hold out hope that this means they have plans for the character, and maybe finally a progression of the story that was started last December when Aiden came out to Elizabeth. A story they have done next to nothing to follow up on since, other than kids throwing paint on Aiden at school.
Teenagers (especially boys) are hard to cast on soap operas. One of the surprising reasons is the height of the intended fathers. The show doesn’t know if a teen is going to hit a growth spurt and then be 6 inches taller than the actor playing their dad. Yes, in real life, people have taller children, but not so in the soap world.
He almost looks older than Cameron
Oddly enough, NuAiden looks a lot like Will Horton from Days of Our Lives.
Why is Aiden called Webber instead of Spencer as his last name?

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

General Hospital Fan Club Weekend brought out many of your favorites to the four day event; with the main cast gathering on Saturday, August 1. Fans near and far attended the weekend held this year at the Burbank Marriott Hotel. Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
