General Hospital Reveal: William deVry's "Derek Wells" is Actually Julian Jerome! What Are Your Thoughts On The Twist?

On Friday’s episode of General Hospital, the background and the truth came to light of just who is this mysterious guy, “Derek Wells”, who showed up in Port Charles this week and took over Connie Falconeri’s Crimson!

It all happened when soap favorite and heartthrob, William deVry in key scenes with two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Maura West (Ava) was revealed to be none other than Julian Jerome, brother of Ava, and son of Victor Jerome, the crime boss who spread terror though Port Charles in the 80’s and early 90’s!

As many know and was reiterated in the episode, the Jerome clan caused terrible trouble and heartache for Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan)!  Anna even lost her and Duke’s child at their hands!

Fans also learn the gambling connection with the Jerome family and Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig), and that Ava and Julian have a master plan to bring down Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and take back the territory that once belonged to the powerful Jerome family!

Elsewhere, Alexis ((Nancy Lee Grahn) gets hypnotized by Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) to try to recall who Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) father is, so she can help save little Danny! And as she recalls the night she met this handsome stranger, we come to learn that the man she is making out with in a car was named “Julian”!

Quite the story entrance for Mr. deVry!  He is Julian Jerome with a whole agenda to take down the Corinthos Clan and he has no idea he has a daughter, who just happens by the Crimson office at the end of Friday’s episode and comes face-to-face with dad!

So what do you think of all the groundwork that has been laid to make William deVry’s emergence on General Hospital have plenty of impact? Do you like the idea “Derek Wells” is really Julian Jerome?  Do you see the long term story potential for Anna, Duke,  Sonny, Ava, The Q’s, Alexis, Sam, and more with deVry’s Julian on the canvas? And one more thing, Julian has another child out there!  Do you remember that Lucas Jones  (Bobbie’s adopted son with Tony)  is really the bio-child of Julian too?  Could that come into play here at some point in the future? Let us know your thoughts on the reveal!

FInally, a hot storyline. I remember the Jeromes and looking forward to the storyline continuing to unforld.

I whated to know about Jerome family

I like William Devry But am on the fence about Derek/Julian. I didnt like my intro to the man when he grabbed pregnant Maxi by the arm roughly. I love Maxi she is my favorite GH female character and that move left a bad taste in my mouth. We have to see where this goes but it does look like we have a new bad guy in Port charles who WILL have a big impact on lots of lives.

well it was obvious he was some sort of criminal element as soon as he grabbed Maxie. he’s not supposed to be all warm and fuzzy…and we’re not supposed to, at least at this point, like him or “his intro.”

your right about that

I whated julian jorme go

you should read about the Jeromes and Julian… they’re nasty mobsters. Julian and his sister Olivia kept trying to kill each other… and others! 🙂

Julian was presumed dead. He was in a firefight with “Duke Lavery”. He was actually in the gun fight with Jonathan Paget who was posing as Duke Lavery.

The Jeromes were battling with the McKays, which was Duke Lavery and Duke’s father Angus.
Olivia St. John, Julian’s sister, had a thing for Luke and well, let’s just say she wanted to get rid of Anna so she could have Luke.

The other baddies –
Victor Jerome (deceased) – the original founder of the family
Julian Jerome – Victor’s surviving son and presumably the current mob boss
Olivia Jerome (St. John) (presumably deceased) – Victor’s daughter
Evan Jerome, Sr. (died 1983) – Victor’s son
Dino Antoinelli – Victor’s son with Dimitra Antoinelli, half-brother to Julian, Olivia, Evan Sr., and Ava.
Evan Jerome, Jr. (deceased) – Evan Sr’s son with his wife Veronica.
* Ava Jerome – Victor’s daughter. She may be co-mob boss with Julian. She may or may not be the same person as Olivia.
Jonathan – cousin to the Jeromes

other children of theirs – Lucas Jones – Julian’s son with Cheryl Stansbury; adopted by Tony Jones and Bobbie Spencer.
Sam Morgan – Julian’s daughter.

my bad! that should read that Olivia had a thing for DUKE, not Luke. silly fingers! 🙂

long story

lots of words to read

Your right blair cramer about maxie me too

that is so right answer about that

This is an incredible twist and umbrella story that will affect nearly every character on the canvas. The writers are doing a fantastic job of using the entire cast in important and significant ways. Between this story and the inevitable baby-drama that will ensue between Ellie/Spinelli/Maxie/Dante/Lulu/Patrick/Brit, I am hooked on GH like I’ve never been before!

I do have a few questions, though:
1. I remember reading that Julian’s sister was named Olivia. I wonder if Olivia is “Ava” or if “Ava” is simply a newly created sister and character since Olivia is “dead” and since we already have an Olivia on canvas who is of no relation.

2. I would love to learn more of the backstory on Lucas. Who is his birthmother and how did Bobbie come to adopt him. Does Lucas know that he is adopted and does he know that his father is Julian Jerome? The possibilities of Lucas, who came out several years ago, and the current openness toward strong gay male characters on the show has me very excited as well!

I didnt watch during the Jerome era so i liked reading your comments…it helped me know a little more about the Jerome family. Reading Bobbis connection hopefully means she could possibly return for a brief story arc.

Most of your questions are answered on the Lucas Jones Wikipedia page. Just Google “Lucas Jones” and it will come right up. I would copy and paste, but credit where credit is due, and I am not sure if a link would be flagged as spam.

holy crap sam is relatied to lucas, he would be her younger brother!, damn sam hit the family lotto, she’s almost related to the entire cast. oh and to answer one or two of your question, Ava is a younger sister, and cheryl is lucas mother, she was tiffany hill sister, and at some point they thought Robert Scorpio was lucas father. i think lucas does know he’s adopted but i don’t know if he’s aware he’s a jerome. that story never played out.

Maybe Lucas or one of the Jeromes can save Sams baby if not Franco…

From what Tonja Walker (who played Olivia Jerome) was saying on Twitter, she talked to the writers and Olivia is dead dead. So looks like Ava is another sister.

I don’t remember if Lucas knows he’s adopted. I remember when he was a teenager both Maxie and Georgie were drooling over him and each wanted a kiss from him (what is it with this show and kissing cousins?).

Personally I love this story-it’s a great way to tie in the old and the new. And I’m still crossing my fingers that somehow the Jeromes are tied to Faison/Robin/Olbrecht/Jerry Jacks. Any of the Jeromes medical whizzes?

maxie and georgie were not cousins with lucas

actually… there are no kissing cousins at all, as Kiki and Michael aren’t related… and Maxie and Georgia just kinda grew up with Lucas around. Maxie had Lucas’ sister’s heart. (Actually, BJ was Tony’s child from a previous marriage and Lucas was adopted.) so as Lucas and the girls got older, well, he was getting kinda cute to them.

Lucas’ mother was Cheryl Stansbury, Tiffany Hilk’s sister, Cheryl died when Lucas was a baby,.

she left baby lucas for tony and bobbie to raise in her will.she was killed in a car accident. yes he knew he as adopted

Toooooo “Six Degrees of Separation” ( make that one or two…) for my taste!!!! I love the current trend of connecting the present to the best of the past of GH, but I don’t know that this plot fills that bill……the Jerome storyline was not one of the most interesting or intriguing chapters of the show’s history.

Awesome! My first answer about Olivia/Ava would be “No, Olivia died on screen.” But now we have A.J., Duke, and Julian on the canvas, so that answer doesn’t work. I guess I’d say she isn’t, if for no other reason than there already is another Olivia on the show. 🙂
As I recall, the Lucas’s dad story was dropped pretty quickly when Gloria Monty returned in late 1990. Cheryl was obsessed with Robert and claimed the child was his, and that was the big secret at the time, when will Robert find out that Bobbie’s son is his. Then when Monty took over, she cleaned house, killed off Cheryl, and ended the story by saying Lucas wasn’t Robert’s. The only other option was Julian, but he was dead, Cheryl was dead, and Bobbie kept custody, so the story died.
Pretty sure Lucas knew he was adopted, because Bobbie couldn’t have kids anymore at the time, wasn’t that the deal?
Anyway, really stoked about the return of the Jeromes. I’m gonna conveniently forget that (both Duke and) Julian died on-screen, just because I was so mad that the story ended because they (again) changed producers/writers. Why kill people on-screen all the time? That’s why people make fun of soap operas, convoluted and often stupid story explanations when the actors choose to come back….

totally agree GH is back. Last week was a great soap week very well written

Andrea

did you see Michael scream at morgan yesterday

long story about that

that too much to read

I am loving it!!! I have to say I knew most of it was coming… sort of predictable… but still loving it!!! He is a baddie… but maybe he will be a bit reformed before it is over. Loved Thursday and Friday’s show especially because of who was on our screen. I like RH but how nice was it not to have to watch more of him as Franco. We got Anna, Duke, Lucy, Luke, Holly Carly, Sonny, Tracy, Alexis, Sam, Kevin, Ava and Julian… what a great few episodes!!! I may watch them again!!! Love to see Ava and Carly and Tracy do battle. Love that Luke is back! Love Anna and Duke going to Sonny… loved it!!!

there are awsome

Love Devry, he’s quite the talent but he is a only a few years older than Kelly Monaco. He is 45 while she is 38. If we apply reality’s hand here and subtract the nine months of Alexis’s gestation period (who was sixteen at the time of conception) then Julian was about 7 when he impregnated Alexis. That is rather creepy to think about. I realize that time is irrelevant in soap land, however, when age conflicts with a characters’ timeline, there is a problem, and Houston, we have one. But don’t tell Ron this–he can’t handle even the gentlest, most constructive criticism.

um actors don’t play their real age, duhhhhhhhh, everyone knows this!

I think you must know actors do not have to play their own age, but the character age, which on soaps is usually a range rather than a set date. KM is 38, but her character Sam was born in 1980, which would make Sam 33. Alexis had Sam at 16. The man she had the one night stand had to be at least legal drinking age, so lets say he was 21. 21 add 33 years would make Sam’s father 54. If Julien was her father, then back in 88 when Julien first came on the scene he would have been early 30’s, which seems to fit the right age range for the character then and to be Sam’s father. So even if Devry is 45, he is obviously playing a man who is in his early fifties, which isn’t that big of a stretch in the looks department for him to pull it off— I find him playing over fifty more believable than the some of the cast of Glee who were in late twenties playing high school students. But it is call acting for a reason– and if they are good at it, they will convince us they are the character’s age not their own.

Well Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) and Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) are nine years apart, and DAYS’s Alison Sweeney (Sami) and Chandler Massey (Will) are fourteen years apart, and I’ve never heard people complaining about them….

And John McCook is only 8 years older then Ronn Moss and he played his father for 25 years on Bold & The Beautiful. JM use to joke about it and say from the get go he was told to put grey in his hair.

Sam being a Jerome and a Cassadine is a great twist! Can’t wait for the family reunion.

It is time for Lucas to come back and be in a triangle with Brad and Felix

For the life of me, I cannot understand the breathless anticipation voiced here for the character of “Lucas.” He was at best, a “back-bencher” role (no pun intended….) in his previous incarnations, and this endless desire to match him up with those two pathetic, stereotypical characters before he even arrives is just beyond irritating! Such constant badgering only serves to give me the fervent desire that when “Lucas” finally does appear he is a conservative, “Log Cabin Republican” type who cannot abide such flamboyance…and that he will be far more invested in his career and family as opposed to all the gossipy, petty and underhanded behavior displayed by Brad and Felix!!!!! Not to worry though…Richard Simmons is on the way…perhaps he can do a “threesome” with the boys!!!!!!!!

“breathless anticipation”

jesus h christ…..

my life is on televison… and I couldn’t be happier.

“…pathetic stereotypical” characters… who are elevating men 4 men.

A Big Yum!

Why “Richard,” is that YOU????? C’mon…fess up, you’re really “Mr. Simmons” under the nom de plume of “Patrick,” right?????? Haha…VERY FUNNY!!!!!

Not interested in the Jerome’s.Ava is boring & so is kiki.

Absolutely agree with you….Ava the Android has gotten old real fast, and “Kiki” is so not an enduring or endearing character, which is sad for KA….my only hope for her is that once she discovers her true parentage she becomes “Lauren Clay,” has a tasteful makeover and rises above her tawdry family background. Just the current name alone conjures such a tacky, disgraceful image….makes me think of a stripper or hooker!!!! (I realize there are actual socialites with that moniker, but it simply doesn’t apply here…) And being forced to hear Morgan’s constant utterances of it makes it even worse…time for another big change for KA.

I like them and the story is getting very interesting with Julian & being Sam’s dad who could be a life saver for the baby! Ava’s secret will come out that Silas is kiki’s real dad and so on…

Well I don’t know the history since I only began watching last year, but years of soap watching has given me enough experience to know– this is good twist– it brings in some new, with some history– it seems to affect a number of characters– and has long term potential. Also there will be a Romeo and Juliet kind of thing happening with Micheal and Kiki when the truth comes out that she is part of one crime family and Micheal is part of the other. I like the possibilities — can’t wait to see it all unfold in the days to come.

what really makes this interesting…

if you watched him on AMC… and yes… writing has so much to do with delivery.

but… intelligent actors who have meaty material…makes this all the more intriguing.

plus… he has that it sexual factor, in spades… and we’ve got alluring story… to tell.

jeez… going by posts…. and I do like Ava… she’s captivating… was stunning on ATWT. so.. throw in her brother, Jerome… and… all the historical connections.

finally… this will be good for Alexis… as I always thought she was intelligent…. ie: remember her from Santa Barbara… ? Yikes… she was so good.

alot of good actors to play this stuff out… and I hope this is the resurgeance for GH.

NLG was so good on “Santa Barbara” because she had “Lane Davies” as her leading man…she has never recaptured the magic that was” Julia and Mason” since…

I agree! Such great actors, I can’t see anything but greatness coming from all of this.

I agree with you about NLG.

Santa Barbara was on it’s own… plateau.

Alexis is the definition of Strong…. and she never found that on GH.

till now?

bbbwhen they announced he was coming on the show I said he has to be Sam;s dad.

Everyone seems to have overlooked the fact that if Julian is Sam’s father, that makes Carly her pseudo stepsister, since that would make Lucas their mutual half brother!

sam and lucas would be blood but carly would be lucas sister by adoption

.
Ava and Julian Jerome.. Sonny Corinthos .. Lavery… Devane.. The Q’s… Alexis… Sa
(a perhaps Lucas Jones )

SMOKIN!! a power house !!!

It doesn’t get any better than what is upcoming in Port Charles! EXCITING!!

Deja Vu ; GH that gave me suspense, thrills, plots, on the edge programing!!!!

what surprise? Everyone who can read knew who he was . Does this mean double the mobs again?
What a shame FrankenRon came on made the show watchable for a couple of months. Now here we go again with All Sonny all Mob? Of course when its not all Mobs its all OLTL.

Great casting!!!!!!!!

If he is suppose to be Sam Mcall father, he and Kelly Monaco favor a lot!!!
I wonder who side Sam is going to take?

RC…….. A GREAT SHOW!!!!

finallly gh is rocking again, fridays episode was so good all around, i enjoyed everyone who was on and their storyline, loved Holly surprise with luke, and ava and Duke going at it on thursday, and finally anna was on, it was just so good, hope it keeps playing out like this.

He’ll obviously turn out to be Sams daddy.

I have been critical of the writing and direction of show. I am the first to admit that this story ha some teeth….

Do we really need another freaking mob story? Hell no!
I wasn’t watching when the Jeromes were on originally, and I have zero interest in them now.

.
This story will be very involved and rotating around many top stars,,
It will be so much more than mob, it is about secrets, revenge and power..

(( there is no longer a mob for anything to be a mob story…
have you not noticed that fact.. lol

Amen to that notion….wish they would just pack it in right now and “Jerome Around the World”….LOL.

Wow, the character of Julian Jerome is certainly going to impact just about everyone in Port Charles! Even though I’m not usually big on the mob stories, I like the fact that Julian is not a one-note cartoon kind of bad guy, and that the writers are mining GH’s rich history. So poor Sam is half Cassadine and half Jerome? That’s quite a pedigree! Lol!

.
We know its gonna be good!!
William deVry/Julian Jerome has signed long term contract,,
The Jerome’s, Ava and Julian are in Port Charles for the long run!!!! 🙂
wonder who else who is connected to them will join in???

Love it. Finally an interesting mob storyline.

ummmm
GH no longer has a mob.. The mobs are long gone.
Sonny and his sidekick are nowhere near being a mob, nor are 2 Jerome’s..

Sonny use to be head of mob that no longer exists.
Now he is simply a tuff guy who holds on to his old ways, and a loner.

Ava and Julian are not a mob either..
This story is about revenge, money, power.

((have people not noticed the mobs are no longer, they are gone?
I have not seen a mob in Port charles for a very long time..
Sonny is not a mob he’s just a use to be mobster without a mob to lead.. LOL ..

Amazing job that Ron has done to create a storyline with so much rich potential. It has deep ties to the past while incorporatung the new characters even deeper into the whole show. It is going to be an incredible fall watching this story develop. I think we are finally getting to see the talent and vision that Frank & Ron have for GH now that the pomp & circumstance of the nurses ball/50th anniversary is over and the push/pull with Prospect Park and the OLTL characters is done. Loving my soap!

Great episode all around!! Way to go guys!!

I haven’t seen any of William deVry’s previous work, although I do remember hearing his name a lot when he was on AMC. I like what I saw from him this past week. Looks like this Julian Jerome/Derek Wells character is gonna be a real bastard, and I love that.

It’s nice to see a new villain on the show. I love all the GH villains from the past, Helena, Faison, Jerry Jacks, and so on, but it’s good to see someone new and fresh. Sure, most of us could see this storyline coming as soon as the Jerome name was re-introduced on the show, but just cause you know something is coming, doesn’t mean that you still can’t enjoy it.

I’m definitely very intrigued to see where things go After a lackluster few months following the Nurses Ball, GH has really been picking it up again over the past few weeks. Which I knew it would, cause every show goes through their slow periods.

Leave it to Cartini to introduce a new character. This freak roughed up a pregnant woman his second day on the air. The misogyynistic violence against women on this show amazaes me!

The show on Friday was excellent. I am so excited for this story to unfold. Maura and William are excellent actors and I am sure with Ron’s excellent writing we are in for quite a ride. This storyline gives so many cast members storyline potential. So who do you think Derek/Julian will romance…Carly…Olivia…or someone else.

..
We know it won’t be Connie/Kate..
I think Julian will be a loner/no woman for a long while then sometime down the road he and Alexis will hook-up..
It would not be in Julian’s character, at this point in time, to have a woman in his life..

Hate it…..absolutely despise it!!!! Probably mostly due to the “whom” as opposed to the “what.” You have two really unlikeable, despicable and morally-reprehensible usurpers stepping into the major fray of GH: the oft-aforementioned artificial and affected Ava who annoys to no end, and a creep-inducing Julian who totally lacks the leading-man looks and sex-appeal required for such a powerful role…. he is sleaze personified….yuck!!!! I am beyond sick that he is going to be Sam’s Daddy…all the luscious possibilities out there, and we end up with this mess???? The ludicrous storyline is just plain wrong on so many levels….and it looks to be the dominant theme for many, many months to come. I only hope that all the legacy characters will come front and center to save us from this obnoxious duo’s bidding to take over not only PC, but the show, as well….there is only so much of Ava’s scene-stealing strutting and smirking and Julian’s dark demeanor and (foreshadowed) dastardly deeds that one can tolerate. Makes me wish for “RoHo’s” coma to be very short-lived…we are going to need his comic relief pronto!!!!

Save yourself, read a book..
You are not being forced to watch GH 🙂

GH is on fire! It’s rockin!!

What a mature suggestion…(I read plenty, thank you very much!) I don’t recall feeling the need to make likewise remarks to those who have been endlessly complaining about Franco and Silas for the past few months, but whatever…..all I was indicating was a real displeasure with the casting choices for these new characters….I don’t find them appealing AT ALL, and that serves to ruin the whole plot. Furthermore, using a moldy old storyline-family that was actually pretty mediocre the first time around simply dampens my enthusiasm for what I had hoped would be a very exciting late summer and autumn of GH drama…and there seems to be enough other people who agree with me, not only here, but on other websites, as well. Just saying…..

were you around the the Jerome Family member the first time around in Port Charles? I would just wait… they are trouble with a big scary T!

I go back as far as the early/mid ’80’s heydays….Frank Smith, the Cassadines, etc. Loved those storylines….and my most favorite time was with Frisco Jones. He should definitely be in on the current Luke and Holly caper….his skill set would fit right in!!!! ( Especially since they are rolling out Sean Donely….was never a fan of his!!!!) Loved the heart to heart Luke had with his “English”…we need more moments like that!!!! So much better than the silly, tacky stuff with Lucy and Scotty….Sam was really good today, but I still hate the thought that she was talking with her “father.” Just had much higher hopes for the guy they chose to be her daddy….and as usual, Ava was a sheer nuisance….I just don’t understand why she is so highly valued. Another more talented actress could have made that role interesting and intriguing, instead of just annoying. Oh, and glad to see “FranQ” was conscious…I thought they were going to keep him in a coma for awhile!

Am I the only one who thinks that the reveal was just a little too quick and easy? I don’t think Derek/Julian IS Sam’s father. There must be some other twist to it.
And did I miss something? Did one of the characters mention Lucas? Cause I don’t get why everyone is so concerned with that character when technically Sam stull doesnt even know who her father is…Alexis still doesn’t know who her baby’s father is…No one knows the Jeromes are even for sure back……ect…just seems tobne there’s a bunch of stories currently going on to be worrying about characters and stories that havent been mentioned yet. lol

Lucas is the son of Julian Jerome and Cheryl Stansbury (Tiffany’s sister). He was adopted by Tony & Bobbi.

oh, meant to add in… if Julian is Sam’s father, than he and Lucas could be bone marrow donors.

Well I get who he is, and why/how he could be important. Im just saying I don’t buy that he’s Sam’s father yet. LOL. I feel like there’s another twist.

Hope you’re right, “Hugo”….I reallllly wanted Sam’s dad to be much dreamier. More the tall, dark and handsome type, if you what I mean….

Maybe you should go watch Y&R then cause most of us are loving Gh right now and that includes the Jeromes ! The show is rocking

Been there, done that…..gave up on the hackneyed Bell shows more than a decade ago. GH has remained the only go-to guilty daytime pleasure (on and off) since then….too busy for anything more. Usually I’m drawn back when there is a streak of legacy role appearances, since there are so many great characters from the past…meaning the REAL thing, not the reconstituted ones, like these Jeromes!!!! That’s why I’m so passionate about the storylines and casting choices….I have such fond memories of GH’s grand history.

I thought it was a bit predictable when Alexis mentions the name “Juiian” while hypnotized just as Ava says my brother Juilan and Sam strolls into Crimson…Come on.
I hope that he actually is not Sam’s dad. I am ready for a mob to come back and I wonder how Sonny will deal without Jason (who I still miss terribly!!) The Jeromes will be bringing some interesting stuff for sure! Maybe the Zaccharas will return (Johnny can get out of jail) and it will be a wild ride in PC.
I am ready for Jerry Jacks to come back- he always adds delight and disgust!
I am tired of Danny being sick- poor kid has had a horrible life and he not even 2 years old. I hope GH gets better, I have not been into Morgan, Kiki, Michael, SIlas, Franco, etc. I do like Ava- she is one creepy lady!

Will Julian save Sam’s babies life? Do you think? Sam went into Crimson Fri. and there was Julian! Little does Sam know that he is her dad.. Will Alexis recgnoize Julian after all these years & will he rememeber her?????? WOW!!!!!!!!!!! GH is so ROCKIN!!!!!!!

yah ,, He will save Danny, RC will not kill-off Danny, so Julian would be the one..
this is getting sooo exciting!!

Does Julien know Lucas is his son?

Good job mining the rich history of a rich show. That’s what these show-runners do better than any of their contemporaries. Not always a hit, but when it works, great story ensues.

I agree with Scotty that this is an incredible twist and umbrella story that will affect nearly every character on the canvas. This is great! I hope Julian can save Danny!?

I loved Friday’s episode, so many great scenes. Anna and Duke with Sonny, don’t recall if Maurice Benard has ever worked with Ian Buchanan before, but it felt like something special. It’s always a hoot when Tony Geary plays Dr. von Scheemerman, and it was nice to see Emma Samms again. Same for Jon Lindstrom back as Kevin, Scotty and Lucy, and Ava and Julian giving some background on the Jerome family and where they’ve been, and foreshadowing their plans to take down Sonny’s empire.

Great work from all the actors, and a lot of well written scenes. It’s good to see GH starting to pick up again.

Who cares, he’s hot.

Let’s see – Sam is part Cassadine, part Jerome and her son is a Quartermaine who was like a brother to a Corinthos! Sam is now connected to every powerful family in town!

Love WDV as Julian! So looking forward to how this plays out across all families and how this obviously interacts with the Luke / Jerry Jax storyline which brings us back to Robin and Dr. O (who clearly is trying for retribution against Anna for having Faisons heart STILL after all these years)! (side note – loving watching Britt be redeemed!)

Lucas does know he’s adopted…..Julian Jerome please….Julian Jerome should be in his 50’s she looks younger than Alexis….Julian never knew Lucas was his son.

not a surprise… I figured he was one of the Jerome boys and they (with Ava) are indeed part of THAT Jerome family.

I think we’re in for some fun in Port Charles! 🙂

KM and WD was wonderful acting

today.

They do look like Father and Daughter

8/5/13

Very Good EPiSode!!!!!

Did anyone catch Julian’s chemistry with Connie? Seriously. They should keep her character! It would be a great twist to have nuConnie fall for Sonny’s enemy while Sonny’s with her cousin.

Sigh.

More like “killer chemistry,” make that rage…can just imagine the explosion when she saunters into that office with Kiki’s birth certificate in her hands…..

Kelly Sullivan is uber talent… I definitely caught this.

I thought… how lucky that, Julian’ intro to Port Charles is with Connie. I especially… loved Connie’ scenes with Tracy… when Connie told Tracy about Kiki not being a ‘Q’.

Kelly Sullivan is an amazing actor…. and it’s GH’ downfall to let her go.

She’s mesmerizing… made for Serial.

So far I am loving Derek/Julian. Something about him is fascinating. I love that they are bringing the Jerome’s back and I love how they are doing it. The Jerome’s are connected to multiple story lines right now, it’s so intriguing. I am looking forward to watching it all unfold. The Jerome family has so much history and connections in Port Charles, just imagine all the potential story lines that could come out of this. (Sam is a Cassidine AND a Jerome, can you imagine what they could do with that!)

I am loving this s/l and the fact Derek/Julian is Sam’s father. Those two played off of each other so well today, I just absolutely loved their scenes. I am loving the fact we are going to see some more mob stories also and Julian going up against Sonny which will cause conflict for both Sam/Alexis.

Shocker today on GH!!!!! Luke and Holly looking up who took the money out of Jerry Jaxs account and guess who’s picture comes up Sean Donelly. He’s a blast from the past! Last time I saw Sean Doneely , Tiffany was taking him out of the country to a hospital! Shocker to see his face on the computer! Haven’t seen him in such a long time…WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holly mentioned she visits Robert everyday!

Am loving Will deVry’s portrayal of Derek/Julian. And am enjoying the story and how all the pieces of the puzzle are being put together

Hells to the yes. Laverys v. Jeromes was one of the best stories in GH history. So much emotion there without even adding any new conflict. I actually am quite impressed how the Qs and Sonny & Co. have been woven in as well. But, truthfully, ANYTHING to get more air time for Finola Hughes and Ian Buchanan. They need to be front and center… William deVry and especially Maura West have been great additions. But, this story’s heart is Duke and Anna. That’s why the story took off on Thur & Fri’s episodes. Because the Laverys were involved as well.

William DeVry is the perfect person to play Julian and Sam’s father. Kelly Monaco and William even look alike. I am loving every minute of this story line. I want more of this story line ASAP 🙂

Exactly…..

Today Episode Was Good!!!!!

August 6, 2013

Silas and Sam was yummy!!!!
Alex and Derek was good too! !! OPPS ( Julian Jerome)

They were the only thing good on GH!!!

KEEP IT UP RC!!!

I agree!

Love the reincarnated Jerome family saga. About time another family rattled the Corinthos clan. What if “Kiki” is really Duke and Anna’s presumed dead child? Wouldn’t that be a twist? Just think of the emerging storyline, in time for Robin’s return.

I love Gh….the storylines are spellbinding.Julian jerome is hot,he feels connected and attracted to Alexis. He figured out he is Sam’s dad,and he is quite emotional about it.Ava scares me more than Julian…Julian was alexis first love, can’t wait to see her reaction, when his identity will be revealed.

Danny is a Morgan Cassadine Jerome

I enjoy the way derek/julian flirts with alexis,he makes her nervous and speechless!lots of sexual tension…they will make a handsome couple…move over Shawn!to top it he is her “baby daddy”and he is going to save Danny’s life…
Julian is hot and sexy in his tight shirts and jeans or suits!no wonder alexis is flustered.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Published

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.  I was working with Dominic  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.

You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.

Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

Published

By

Ric

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.

Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.

Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL

Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.

A VENGEFUL PAST

As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.

On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision of  Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.

Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife. Elizabeth stepped aside, and when Ric planned to propose to Elizabeth at the 2015 Nurses Ball, Carly exposed his manipulations, and Elizabeth dumped him yet again. And those are just two examples of the lengths Ric will go to for Elizabeth!

So, we ask you, given the history of Elizabeth and Ric, how do you see this playing out with Dante in the picture? How will Ric derail their growing bond? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
