GENERAL HOSPITAL: Roger Howarth Brings The "Franco" And Lowers The Boom On Carly and Michael!

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

The performances from the cast of General Hospital for the November Sweeps episodes thus far has been off the charts!

And on Monday’s episode, Roger Howarth (Franco) brought his A-game in a script that played to all of his strengths, and at times, actually made us in the viewing audience root for him!

After all, Carly (Laura Wright) did cheat on Franco with Sonny (Maurice Benard), and after all, everyone has been keeping secrets from Michael (Chad Duell), chief among them that Sonny killed his bio-dad AJ Quartermaine!

In another Roger Howarth tour de force performance, Franco unleashes his wrath in quirky style, and seething underneath it all is  the betrayal.   And as we know Franco, even post brain-surgery, is not always playing with a full-deck! Franco went to great lengths and enjoyed watching Carly squirm as he brought to light through the video via her “eye cam” that Sonny and Carly have been having sex, and in Michael’s apartment, no less.  Later, Franco lets “slip out” that Sonny murdered AJ, and then shows the video confession of Sonny admitting it as Michael is left bewildered and shocked!  Franco even implicates Kiki (Kristen Alderson) as t not telling Michael the truth and harboring secrets about all involved.  At the end of the episode, Howarth as Franco mimes eating popcorn, as if he now has a front row seat to watch all the drama unfold after dropping his bombshells!

This was Howarth at his delicious best.  He maybe even should consider this performance for his Emmy reel, because it was so layered, and fun to watch all at the same time.   Who knew watching the good folks of Port Charles squirm as Carly’s secrets came to light would be such a treat?

What did you think of Roger Howarth’s performance on Monday’s GH?  Did you like how Franco unleashed his fury at Carly?  Were you rooting for Franco in the scenes?  Watch Franco’s wedding surprise to Michael and Carly after the jump! Then, share your thoughts below!

I hated that they made Roger Howarth Franco but he knocked it out of the park, Im still l laughing about Sonny’s pepperoni….

Loved it!! That line especially!!

I don’t imagine that Sonny’s pepperoni would be especially filling.

It seemed as though some of the comedic moments Roger improvised-which I loved. He is a great actor! I am enjoying this storyline! Love Roger-even as the dreaded Franco.

Forgot to add, love how Franco called Joss a brat. The kid is a brat. Really not likeable.

The pepperoni line was hilarious!!
Roger at his best!

And Joss is a Brat!

pepperoni line was priceless as was joslyn expression,

Joss is a brat and played to the hilt by this very gifted young actress. Love her!
I also appreciated her costume which she described as being “a child of the corn.”

yeah! that was hysterical! I thought that was probably ad-libbed, as Roger can be so hysterically funny as Franco (or Todd).

Loved it ! I did find myself rooting for Franco. While I love all the characters/actors it’s gonna be great to see Sonny & Carly get what’s coming to them .!

Agreed!

For the longest time, I’ve felt Sonny’s character is worn out. He’s either wanting to shoot someone or vying for a new woman. Or one he was with this before. It’s been that way for years. Wouldn’t mind seeing him locked up and Carly taking homemade apple pies up to him on Sundays at Statesville. The episode was justice for Franco. One thing I didn’t like was his comment about Kiki. I’m sure that will be a relationship destroyer. She was someone on his side. No need for him to open his mouth about her.

I agree that he should have tried to leave Kiki’s name out of it. She has always been on his side. And they do need to re=direct Sonny’s character. It has been the same for too long. I really do not like the little girl who plays Joselyn for some reason. And she really knows how to play the little bratty girl thing.

I totally agree the sonny character wore out about two decades ago. He sucked the life out of gh. Its time to at least rest the character.

I thought I would enjoy seeing Sonny and Carly’s secret’s getting exposed, but I was turned off completely. Maybe it was just the fabulous Laura Wright’s performance, because I was screaming, “No Franco! Don’t do this to Carly!” I sort of wish that Franco would have pushed Carly to tell Michael to truth before he did, but i’m not a GH writer. Anywhoo, GH is on fire. Maybe i’m a sucker, but I also felt bad for Ava. And Michelle Stafford is amazing as Nina. Ratings should be explosive this week because everyone is bringing it.

I’m totally with YOU on this one, today’s episode was heartbreaking, and everyone
was torn to shreds.Roger,Laura,Maura,Michelle….your performances were
SUPREME!!!

I was all over the place… and that’s because, of how much, Michelle Stafford and Maura West bring

a lot

on par excellence of two strongholds who have an audience

Ava and Morgan with child are forefront without question

Nina… the actress…. is stretching her wings unfold

my heart goes with child…with mother

so that would be the endgame… of this heart palpitating… remiss… and advent of Michelle Stafford emerge

it;s not up to the menfolk… just further this nonstop storyLINE

Morgan… stop the idealism… move on…and upwards as a man… an adult… and by yourself… because Ava is near…. your child birthed

I was in an absolute quagmire.. and kudos to the GH production.. writers with… but… to keep Ava, Morgan, and child apart… is serial

rectify redeem and rollick Michelle Stafford as only she does… brings kazaam… aplomb… forefront… STARS… attraction

isn’t it something to see Kathleen Gati and Donna Mills spar wit and take… with and by their character… superb

i’m certain Morgan will bellieve Ava… that Nina and Madeline are responsible for their missing child

it’s histrionic to a sort.. that Nina.. is going so far

to stretch that her 20 year plus coma would endear the audience to stretch their belief that it’s OK to go this far… is farfetched…

i’m hoping that Madeline will quash any further… how difficult any meaning to further eschew your child’s misbegotten thought processes stilts rationale

it’s done and over

c’mon Nina…. you have a support system set

Are you kidding? This is what makes soaps epic – their willingness to go over-the-edge. And, the fact that GH is willing to send not just one storyline over that edge, but several of them at once, makes it SO much fun to watch IMO. Personally, I’m hoping Franco & Heather bring Carly & Sonny so much more pain because it’s been a looooong time coming. After Tuesday’s episode, I can’t imagine what Franco meant by saying he’s just getting started. And, I can’t wait to see what’s up next!

RH was awesome. He’s the best. No one does it like his Francp. Loved him telling all.

Love it! I can’t stand Sonny and Carly anymore. Especially Sonny…I used to be his biggest fan….but all he does now is kill people. He used to be that “mobster with a heart of gold” and he had redeemable qualities. Now he’s just an egotistical and hypocritical mobster who plots murder everyday. Don’t get me wrong, I loooooove Maurice Bernard, but I just can’t stand Sonny anymore!

I loved it!!! Roger is doing an AWESOME job as Franco!!!

AGREED! Love him, love everything he does, loved this soooooo much!

Speak for yourself, Michael. I’m glad the secret about Sonny killing AJ is out and I look forward to his and Carly’s comeuppance, but I am in no way rooting for Franco. He’s a SERIAL KILLER so his moral outrage at being cheated on is outrageous.

Um, Michael was speaking for himself.

Ahahahhaha…Harry!

Actually; I DEFINITELY was rooting for Todd…errrr…Franco. Todd.

Wait, Mrs. C–Franco is serial killer but so is Sonny. They’re both bad men and both examples of Carly’s deplorable choices in men.
The difference between Franco and Sonny is the former has a sense of humor about himself while the latter wears a crown of moral righteousness.

EXACTLY! Franco has no illusions about what he is while Sonny parades around like an emperor when he really has no clothes. THAT’s what I want to see – the emperor realizing he wasn’t a ruler but a fool all along. Being bi-polar wasn’t Sonny hitting rock-bottom. But, Sonny being spiritually stripped bare & admitting he had choices & chose lousy ones out of total selfishness would. What I really want him to admit is that alcoholism wasn’t a reason to strip AJ’s parental rights away any more than being bi-polar is a reason to do the same. Many alcoholics have become sober because they wanted to be better parents.

Also? He didn’t tell Michael out of the goodness of his heart. If Carly hadn’t cheated, he would have kept that secret forever. He hurt Michael (you know, just the guy whose prison rape he helped engineer) to hurt Carly. There’s nothing rootable about that.

Exactly & why betray Kiki who’s always stood by him hes just evil & theres nothing there to root for.

OH yes, there is something to root about that Mrs. C (suddenly, I feel like Potsie Webber from Happy Days). Karma delivers itself in the most unpredictable forms–Franco is that karma. Carly has assisted Sonny in keeping Michael from his real father from day one–not allowing him to be raised by his real father but by his mobster, screwed up step father. She has committed so many sins against her own son it’s too numerous to list. Aside from covering up Sonny’s murder of AJ, she bedded with the enemy, Franco, who orchestrated her son’s rape and who tormented and tortured her best friend Jason.
Franco is not a good guy but neither is Sonny. The difference is all this time we have watched Sonny being told by all his fawning woman what a great father he is while it was clear we were supposed to view Franco as a pycho killer.
Michael doesn’t even know that AJ did not kill Connie so Sonny murdering AJ is especially heinous. I don’t think he knows that Sonny and Ava made love (if you can call it that) on top of AJ’s body in the Quarterrmaine crypt.
Carly is the worst kind of enabling mother–she puts her lovers in front of her kids.
The chickens have come to roost. We have waited a long long time for this.

I agree with everything you said Harry…’cept I believe Franco/Todd was really, really trying to be a good guy. I think he’s a lost soul…and when he thought Carly loved him…believed in him…when he thought Kiki was his daughter…he just emanated love. He risked his life to save Carly. He trusted her, he made himself vulnerable, he let himself believe in himself…believe that it wasn’t his true nature to be violent but that his actions were caused by the tumor. He found a sense of worth when he got the job at the hospital…he put up with bratty Jocelyn’s attitude, as well as almost everyone else’s hypocritical views of him…all the while they were all criminal in their own right. And then, when he realized the woman that helped save him emotionally, filled him with love and offered him a future and a family, lied to him, ,betrayed him, made a fool of him, used him to shut him up…THAT’s when the old Franco/Todd resurfaced. He RISKED his life for her…he almost died for her…and she betrayed him for Sonny who didn’t lift a finger to find her when she was kidnapped and threatened to kill her if Olivia died.

Whew! I’m so with you, Franco/Todd. Party on! :/

Carly is not redeeming….

neither is Sonny…

I think both, together, will languish in Port Charles

I don’t expect to see much more of Chad Duell acting chops to resonate… other than to further story

Michael and Kiki as the stepping stone of Port Charles is NOT

I hope as another poster posted…. if this brings Michael another pedestal and cement him with the Quartermaines to distance himself from Carly and Sonny…. so be it

let Sonny and Carly STEW…. fester… idealize … quicksand

I’m certain… pulling for.. that Donna Mills’ Madeleine bring Nina… her daughter… to the 21st century… and echelon common sense and forefront good taste and realize for and with that Nina is not on all cylinder… so be it… we can go their

Kiki is hers… that’s not much of a stretch

however!

Ava, Morgan, and daughter ARE

just knowing that Nina is on the mend and on par her actor… is knowing

whew! thank the gods… serial… that Roger Howarth is forward… him being just and only jealous of Sonny was stifling…. carry on Franco…. Nina is draw

Yes, Rebecca! We have waited a long, long time for Sonny to get his comeuppance. I have hated him ever since he had AJ’s brother Jason hang him on a meat hook.
I want Michael and Jason to come back to the fold of the Q’s and leave that slimy low life in the gutter where he belongs.
And isn’t it nice to get excited about GH again?

Hey Harry!

LOL. Yes! It’s great to feel such excitement over a show! So funny/interesting that fiction can get to us in the way it does.

Can you imagine what someone who’d never watched a soap would think… “I have hated him ever since he had AJ’s brother Jason hang him on a meat hook.” Hahahahaha…just another day in Port Chuck.

I loved it! It’s about time Franco stopped acting like a whipped puppy, trying to get everyone to like and accept him, and prove that he deserves Carly, while they ALL harp on what he did in the past, as though they are completely innocent! It’s also about time someone stood up and put Sonny and Carly in their place! I love them, and understand their little dance, but they always lie to and hurt whoever they’re with when they do this, then manage to make the other person out to be the bad guy, until the leave town or get killed for interfering.
As far as Michael finding out this way, Franco tried to get Carly, and Sonny, to tell him the truth when they first found the recording. He was the only one who thought Michael should know, and was strong enough to handle it, before they did their thing. It sucks, but had he tried to tell Michael privately, he would have said Franco was lying, even with the recording, and went to Sonny and Carly, who would have continued to lie. This way, he saw Carly’s reaction first, so he knew it was real.
I was surprised, and hated, that Morgan turned on Ava so quickly, just because Sonny told her secrets. Morgan knew who she was, and what she was capable of. She lied to him no more than Sonny ever has. There are certain aspects of the business you don’t talk about. She manipulated him, but no less than Sonny has, is, and will continue to do.
I can’t wait for it to all blow up! This is the best sweeps I can remember in years!

“…I was surprised, and hated, that Morgan turned on Ava so quickly, just because Sonny told her secrets. ”

I’m glad that Morgan nevertheless knows about Ava killing Connie

this is a soap…. but.. it’s one less roadblock for Ava and Morgan to overcome

yeah, Morgan ! you’re an adult… in now way responsible or committed to Sonny Mob

if you love Ava, and I’m hoping that baby is YOURS

you will find your way back to the best couple in all of daytime

YES

Agree with everything you said Viv!

I guess this means no Honeymoon for Franco and Carly…lol…Micheal Quartimaine will not be spending the Holidays with Carly and Sonny…but all will be forgiven…maybe…when they all learn A.J. is alive and was programmed by the Cassidines to believe he is Jason/Jake…lol

Loved it! And love Roger!!

Franco is the best character

It was awesome…Roger…bryan craig…michelle and Maura. This is a November to remember in Port Charles. It should be interesting to see how this plays out….watch out Heather is on the loose…did she shoot Max????

Here’s my problem: Why does Max always get shot?! He just recovered from when Morgan shot him late last year, and now almost a full year later it happens again. The real question is, who shot him? I think it could be Heather, but why would she just shoot him and not go for Sonny too?

Oh, and Michelle and Maura’s scenes we phenomenal. Truly some amazing acting by two of the best in the business. Maura should really consider submitting those scenes for her emmy reel, they were ridiculously good.

Heather took off her mask and gave Max the message to give to Sonny. She says she wants him to know to stay away from her and her son.

Max has more holes in him than Sponger Bob, Square Paints.

Clasps to infinity and beyond! Thanks Roger Hayworth, your scenes where the only ones I was interested yesterday, please writers give this brilliant actor more incredible dialogue like THAT!

Hate James Franco, hated him playing Franco, hate Roger being stuck with Franco BUT loved that Roger finally came alive and was given some decent material and exposed Sonny and Carly to Michael as the scum bags they are! It is rumored that now Michael will be a full time Quartermaine. Thank God! Him and Monica can invite “Jake” and Liz to the Q’s for Thanksgiving. Little do they know how much of a family dinner they will be having. Alan would be proud!

“…loved that Roger finally came alive and was given some decent material ”

here, here

Gavel

Roger Howarth is IN

when couples/pairs aren’t working… it’s time to let em loose. Franco/Carly nill.

now… he can right Nina ?!?!

when couples/pairs aren’t working… Sam and Silas… I think they do, to some degree… but it was forced retread from their port charles days…. and … now that Sam and Patrick are being previewed … it looks a better fit. dang! she had the steamiest dreamy scene not too long ago… Yikes.

Silas : he’s been so good with Nina and Kiki… that i’t’s for story down the line… but… I will never miss with my all time fav couple

Ava and Morgan belong

Roger Howarth…. geez! Start your engine…. hope the gh production and writing teams elevates their part…. you’ve got it

Carly and Sonny need each other more now than ever!

Franco and Nina are a dream!

Sam and Patrick until Robin or a Robin recast returns for good. Sam will eventually find her way back to Jason.

Liz and Nick will live happily ever after.

Silas and Monica.

I dont like males or females together that are so far apart in age so lets go with Ava and Scott and Morgan and cast someone to play Serena. That will light a fire!

I agree–RH was sublime. As was Chad. They both deserve Emmy nods.

Definitely!!!!!!!!

Roger Howarth gave an outstanding performance, I enjoyed every second of it. The other characters pretty much just filled the room. His moves, his voice , the body language & facial expressions, everything was in sync. It’s a joy to watch that guy play.
On another note, I’m happy to see that the soap press somehow got over the fact that he plays Franco and finally gives the actor some credit for a performance which is always way high above the average.

At first, I was against Roger playing Franco, mainly because Franco was one of the most poorly conceived characters in GH’s recent history. And at the beginning, Roger wasn’t shining as Franco, because the material just wasn’t there for him to play.

But now? Wow. This episode was phenomenal and Roger knocked it out of the park as Franco. I loved ever minute of it. I’m so happy he now has this kind of material to sink his teeth into and perform because it’s such a joy to watch him.

This was an outstanding performance. I loved every minute of it.

I believe Roger Howarth is the all-time love/ hate villain on daytime soaps. He portrays characters that “stir your gut and heart”…..I wasn’t a fan of him becoming Franco b/c I loved Todd….but I’m glad now because he has done an amazing job.

No doubt everyone is doing a great job acting these scenes. And I love Roger Howarth. But I am so done with his character. The final nail for me was him saying – and then repeating- those horrible comments about Carly in front of young children. The comments may have been true, but that doesn’t mean 9 year olds needed to hear them.

it’s only a story.. ”it ain’t real”
Roger is a huge BRAVO!!
the story is riveting!! … and! nobody was actually hurt LOL .. nope..
fantastic writing and acting, it doesn’t get any better than this ..

Blame Carly for not whisking her daughter and Spencer out. She brought the wrath upon herself…now buck up Carly and while you’re doing it…take out a moment to remember your child’s in the room and get her out. But…she didn’t. Uncle Lucas did. Sigh…Carly, Carly, Carly….

While I generally agree with you in principle, let’s face facts….These two precocious “kids” are already wise beyond their years….both have parents who are “shacking up” with their “significant others” under their own roofs and Joss also has a gay uncle and proud ex-hooker granny who are living in her home. They’ve pretty much seen and heard it all….throw in access to the internet, and I doubt there’s much of which these munchkins aren’t aware. I’m not saying that I necessarily approve of the way this particular situation was handled, but hey Dorothy, we’re not in Kansas anymore!!!! (Ditto for that little pipsqueak, Emma….I was appalled how she was exposed to Sappy playing house with Patrick, not to mention hearing her explain Felix’s lifestyle so matter-of-factly during last year’s story arc.)

and the bride wore white?
Where’s Billy Idol when we need him?

I thought he was great.

RH is one of the best actors in Daytime in fact one of the best actors PERIOD. That scene proved how incredible he is. I was jumping with glee to see Carly get exposed. Franco may be a nutjob but Carly and Sonny are two sick individuals who actually think they are better than others. A freaking mob boss who has his hit men at his beck and call thinks he is better than Franco. Carly took her baby boy from his bio father because he was an alcholic and handed him over to a freaking mob boss. The two losers really are the crazy ones. Go Franco!!!!

Franco is no saint, but yes, I fully agree about Sonny. How on Earth they’ve managed to keep him around for so long after all the heinous thing he’s done is beyond me. I really don’t know how he’s going to get out of this one; there is video proof of Sonny killing A.J. and if I were Franco, I’d march right down to the PCPD and show Anna. Sonny needs to pay for what he’s done, for once in his life. Ideally, Michael will walk away from him permanently now.

Slow your roll-the tape is inadmissable-Sonny will walk

Roger was absolutely fabulous! His acting skills are perfect for scenarios like these. Bravo – well done!!! (Makes me miss Todd all the more…)

They are all great and I’m enjoying the twists and turns. Lots of plots, lots of characters. I am disappointed, however, in Sean and Jordan though. I understand that you have got to get these plots going but why do you always protray these professionals as bimbos and careless? They didn’t get to where they are by being dumb!

I so agree with you! I miss TODD! Fingers crossed TODD comes back once the lawsuit is over….

I think Franco is a new creation–he’s what’s left of the remains of OLTL’s Todd.
I have come to accept that.
Let us call him FrankenTodd.

I’ve been saying that along Harry. He’s definitely Todd. (Maybe when the Prospect Park lawsuit is over it will be revealed that FrankenTodd (that’s sooooooo good!) was really “just” Todd the whole time…)

I

Right on, RoHo! Howarth totally rocked it as his Franco finally came full circle from his first facetious foray into Port Charles on that same “Ship of Fools”….needless to say, he was long overdue to return from his rueful road to redemption and cut loose from his Carly chains…and the man did so in his own spectacularly inimitable fashion!!!! I can only hope he proceeds to go off on one of his gleefully glorious glibfests….nobody delivers the poisonous put-downs quite like Roger!!!! (Especially wishing for some expertly ones aimed at his trussed-up tart of a prospective mother-in-law….and the brassy, brazen bridezilla she birthed! They just go begging for such verbal vitriol!) And speaking of maternal figures, will we get a gander at Heather as the proud “mother of the groom,” or will she fail to make it to the church—I mean, the SS “$#*! Hits The Fan”—- before this nuptial nut show winds down to its combustible conclusion???

roger needs to get a emmy.hes so talented..i wish for once, they make him a good guy,,love his acting,,hes so cool

You know, at first, I wasn’t thrilled that they brought Roger back as Franco. I felt like the character didn’t fit him, and he would have been better playing another character. But my lord, this episode was fantastic! And Roger have an outstanding performance. I loved it all, especially the end when Sonny’s secret was finally revealed. It was wholly satisfying and it’s been a long time coming. The mere fact that Carly was so against Franco showing that video to Michael proves she’s guilty too. I can’t wait to see what happens now! Ideally, Michael will walk away from Sonny permanently.

They brought ”A” Franco back, but not thee franco..
Rogers franco is absolutely nothing as the 1st..
Roger built this Franco, and WOW!! the character is outrageously awesome!!

I am with you!!
I am in bated breath waiting for the next day!!
Every minute of the past couple of days have been riveting !!

BRAVO!!!!!! BRAVO !!!!!!

W-O-W……this is daytime at its best!!! roger howarth was spellbinding!!!! I have seen this much good drama, since eileen davidson’s performance in the 90s when Kristen got her comeuppance for putting Marlena in the secret room!!! I cant wait to watch tomorrow’s episode!!!!!!! And Carly, that bitch got what she deserved, I cant wait to see Michael confront Sonny!! They need to bring Brenda back to reclaim sonny!!!! November sweeps has begun!!!!

LOVE Roger! Loved him as Todd in OLTL…and love him as Todd in GH! (Cause there’s noting Franco-ish) about his character…he’s Todd all the way with a different name. LOVE IT! Regardless of the facd they had to change his name/character legally, they left all the Todd details…the vulnerable, the devious, the charming, the vengeful, the longing to be loved and look out if you hurt me guy that brings out RH’s best! Was looking forward to his revenge for a long time and it was well worth it! Sooooo happy Michael FINALLY knows the truth…and “Franco” is no longer playing the lovesick fool.

Chills, thrills and cheering at the screen! Go Franco!

Yes, i agree…he is more Todd now than Franco…i didnt care about his Franco at first but when his Todd emerged in those scenes i said ‘Welcome back, Todd Manning’…I wasnt too big of a fan of Micheal’s but CD has delivered an amazing emmy nominated performance in todays episode and made me like him for a change…cant wait for him to confront Sonny…i thought maybe Micheal will find Sonny shot…and Sonny will accuse Todd…i mean Franco but itll really be Heather who dun it!!! I also thought Heather would hurt Carly and Lucas uses his medical knowledge to save her and this will convince Lucas to prusue a medical career at GH and of course that would mean a wuv triangle at the hospital between Lucas, Brad and Felix…lol

I agree, Rebecca. Franco has got his Moo Joe back!!!

oh…and I’m going to try eating popcorn that way. it’ll save me some calories…

Let’s hope Sonny goes to prison soon.

not gonna happen-the tape’s inadmissable

if michelle stafford is staying +with general hospital..they should take the next year with nina and heather at ferncliffe,,,imagine the antics with these 2 powerhouses….at 1rst they could be completely off there rockers…but as the year goes by the get the help they need and finally released back to the good folks of port charles…as for franco…. any kind of scenes with heather and nina would be fire….

PERFECTION !!!

This episode was perfect from beginning to end!!
oh, how I was rooting for Franco to put Carly in her place and take away the one person she loves more than herself, her precious Michael!
Roger Howarth was deliciously devious in this scene!!
payback is a bitch Carly 😉

Onto the other side ….. Michelle Stafford & Maura West were top notch today!! I think if Madeline wouldn’t have arrived, Ava would have stood a better chance since Cuckoo would have stayed awhile trying to name the baby. Omg — delivering a horse with hooves – so funny!!! Great stuff here!!!

Excellent writing from beginning to end of this Halloween treat for us!!
When I’m glued to the show and praying no one calls me while I’m watching it, you know it’s good 🙂

I luv luv luv how FV & RC and team bring it with a BANG!
when they bring it to climax they really make it explode!
They don’t drivel a it out, a bit here and bit there, they get right to it and its always earthshaking..

My jaw will drop and my breath is held while watching it all come to its glorious big
intense jolt…………….. WALLOP !!! (they bring it home !!

Apparently I’m in the minority, but I hate it. I hate the cynicism of Ron’s writing. I hate the notion that the audience is supposed to be rooting for a serial killer and rapist. I don’t care about Franco’s man pain or whatever; he deserves that and a whole lot more. Are Sonny and Carly horrible people? Yes. Is Franco? Yes. And let’s be serious, neither MB nor LW are going anywhere, so Sonny and Carly are not going to “pay.”
Honestly, RH’s camp hour doesn’t do much for me.

lol
Well, Majnoona..
Most do not see ”’this”’ Franco as a serial killer (he is not serial killing anyone) nor as a rapist as he never has raped anyone and he is not raping anyone..
You see; that is a different Franco..
That other Franco was killed and put in a Jar..
This Franco it total awesome 🙂
Roger has created an awesome thrilling mysterious magnificently odd Franco..
At times he seems lonely and lost and I just wanna hug him ..

RC and Roger have created a different awesome unusual character, Franco ..

No, it is the same Franco. He is still a serial killer and a rapist, whether he’s raping someone right this minute or not. It’s just that Ron has completely rewritten the character so he can do what he wants with RH. He should just call him Bob or whatever and dispense with the pretense that this is Franco. And sorry, the tumor and immediate redemption stories don’t do much for me.

This Franco is the same as Todd is the same as whatever character RH played on ATWT. I’ve seen him play the same role on three different shows over the last twenty years, except they were supposed to be three different characters. The actor should change to fit the role, not the other way around.

I just love when secrets are revealed on soaps. The bigger the secret, the more dramatic the reveal the more fun it is for viewers who have patiently waited for characters to know what we have known for months. It is scenes like this one that makes soap watching worth while and why November is my favorite month to watch—now I can’t wait for Michael to find out all the secrets Kiki has been keeping from him– hoping all this will give Michael an edge he sorely needs to become a more interesting character.

I was actually surprised we got such a revelation today! I thought Franco would change his mind or Michael would leave or something stupid to drag it out further! I’m SO thrilled we got a big payoff today.

Oh yeah ,… just WAIT until Michael gets another betrayal from his GF and finds out all the nitty gritty details she’s known & confided to Morgan on!

Should be good.

Ces..
do you think Michael will go weird and his character will turn?
He will go from a cream puff to a jalapeno ..
It is time Michael gets some brass balls !!!

this could do it.. ”the change for Michael..

((I hope!!!!

I wonder if this will be a good time for Kiki to remember her mom

go back home… to the nest and fold…. be loved…. and help her through this trying of all times for Ava to not reach for that child… her nudaughter that’s amiss

Michael… for all his bland acting… could go their.. with perhaps… Nina nurse… for spark… and entreat his senses for spark… implode…. she’s HOT… Rosalie

to force and forefront so quickly…. Michael and Kiki… was too much… Michael and Rosalie… Michael and the Quartermaines… Michael without Carly and Sonny

I don’t buy that he’s capable of ceo’ ing ELQ… but that’s not my writing

the bottom line is that Ava, Morgan, and daughter be

Su – I certainly hope so! He’s been whimpy for too long and needs to wake up a little!! I never bought Michael & Kiki either; they make work as a real-life couple but onscreen it comes of bland. He needs someone to liven him because he’s super dull.
I’m with you Patrick, that Michael in charge of ELQ is a bit of a stretcccch!!

I wasn’t expecting such a big pay off today. I thought for sure Franco would either change his mind or Michael would leave the party before he could unleash his video — so, I was pleasantly surprised at what a dynamic show this was today!! Edge of your seat episode.

I can’t wait until Michael finds out all the nitty gritty details Kiki has kept from him and worse – confided in her EX about. That will be the 3rd betrayal for Michael.

should be good!!

Also, I find it hilarious that Carly could ask Franco “how could you?” considering she’s been cheating on him this whole time. Talk about no conscience or remorse!! She’s smug and deserved what she got.

I agree Ces. Carly is the ultimate hypocrite. She slept with her own mother’s husband, she locked out AJ from Michael’s life and told him lies about AJ…she doused AJ with alcohol when he was passed out so people would think he was back to drinking, she tried to kill Franco, shot Olivia…she also slept with Sonny when she was married to Jax. The list goes on and on…Soooo glad she was finally brought down.

With that said, I feel bad for Kiki. She’s been very loyal to Michael. She wanted to tell him the truth many times…Morgan convinced her it would only hurt him. She also wanted to (and finally did) tell Franco about Carly’s infidelity…but assured him…because she believed, it was a one-time deal. Her heart’s always been in the right place. I LIKE Kiki, though I doubt Michael will forgive her. He’s too full of hurt and feeling betrayed…which will probably lead him straight into the arms of Rosalie!

Hi Rebecca,

H-o-n-e-y…RIGHT ON!!!!! To me, Carly is nothing but a HYPOCRITICAL S-L-U-T PERIOD!!!!! Rebecca, I think that it’s VERY INTERESTING that you brought up the facts about Carly locking AJ out of Michael’s life and telling Michael lies about AJ. My point here: IMO, Carly does nothing but CONSTANTLY MEDDLE in Michael’s life!!!!! Sonny meddles but I think that Carly is W-A-Y WORSE, meddling-wise. And, if Carly thought that Franco was gonna actually M-A-R-R-Y her, then Carly is WAY MORE STUPIDER than I thought!!!!! Bottom Line Here: At the end of Round 1: Franco 1 (Y-A-Y!!!!!!!!!!) Carly 0 (AND BEYOND!!!!!!). Round 2, anyone??? DING DING DING DING!!!!!

Take care, Rebecca.

A-C-E-S!!!!!

Rebecca – after today’s show, I’d like to start an “I hate Carly” club! She really does not take any blame for her actions. I just love how she turns the tables on Franco and plays victim, as if what she did was no big deal. Doesn’t she get it? That her actions have consequences?? She doesn’t!! And her Barbie doll of a stupid mother has the nerve to tell Franco to leave Carly alone? Seriously? I can’t believe the nerve of Carly acting all self-righteous during her speech and acting like Franco was all in the wrong when she is the one who’s been lying and cheating all along. Hypocrite indeed.

Yes, I think Michael will turn to Rosalie because I think he’s had enough of everyone’s lies and it won’t matter to Michael that Kiki was trying to protect him either — she betrayed him as well.

Ces…a “I hate Carly club”…oh, h-o-n-e-y…count me in!!!!! To me, Carly=HYPOCRITE PERIOD!!!!! BTW…L-O-V-E-D your ‘And her Barbie doll of a stupid mother’ comment!!!!! TOTALLY LMAO!!!!! Ces…let’s face it: Bobbie is NO PRIZE herself!!!!! Nope. Bottom Line Here: Carly’s downfall HAS BEGUN!!!!! And, continuing…..

Jaybird!! lol…. welcome to the club 😉 Yeah, Scott needs to dump Bobbie; this forced relationship is a joke anyway. I really hope Carly doesn’t walk away all proud which she’s acting now. Really hope Heather tortures her a bit and Carly wipes that hypocritical smug look off her face like she’s a damn victim. To think, there was a minute there where I was starting to like her .. it vanished. Team Franco!

Hi back, jaybird369!

Carly is completely overbearing. I have no doubt she loves all her children to the ends of the earth and back…but she attempts to control them as if they were still little ones living under her roof.

And let’s not forget how she possessed Jason even when he “belonged” either to Robin, Elizabeth or Sam. Her insecurity pushed her to command and demand being the center of everyone’s world…and she judges from atop her self-appointed throne and looks down her nose at people like Rick, AJ and Franco…while pledging undying loyalty to Sonny. What REALLY drives me insane is when the two of them deem others unworthy, a lowlife, not deserving…

Example? AJ. What the two of them did to AJ, long before his murder, was despicable. They judged a man with a drinking problem and held him in contempt…while they stole Michael from him and Sonny lived a life of crime.

Yep; time for them to pay up…

Yay!

Hi Ces!

LOL..poor Carly. That’s quite the twist on a “fan club!”

It’s very strange how the writers turn reality around in many characters minds so that they are actually convinced that the one person they single out is the culprit and they’re in the right.

When AJ was the target, Carly, Sonny, even Jason, Monica and Emily blamed him for something…or depending on the episode for everything! Yet they never really discussed their own evil…murdering, cheating, betraying, kidnapping. It’s written in such a way it’s almost like the writers want the viewer to be convinced that the “target” is the actual guilty party. Even in Friday’s episode they couldn’t put AJ’s reputation to rest. Bobbie mocked him when Lucy defended him…and then even Lucy conceded she wasn’t a fan of his but still…he was a murder victim.

With Franco, both Sean and Carly are looking at Franco…judging Franco…as if he’s some lowlife lunatic…completely negating the fact that Sean was there to murder him and fram his mother…or just the plain ol’ fact that he’s a hitman. And Carly? From her entrance to Port Charles all those years ago…all the crazy, horrendous things she’s done and covered up…stands there self-righteously and spews venom at “crazy” Franco. UGH! Felt the same way as when they ganged up on AJ.

Franco showed more vulnerability in that scene…where in the midst of his revenge he once again wore his heart on his sleeve, openly showed his hurt…he was more human to me than any of them in that room. Yet when they’re all freed they’ll discuss in retrospect how deranged he is.

Never made sense…it’s not good vs evil. It’s wicked vs wicked…only in matters of degree. (And it’s FRANCO’s “wicked” in these last episodes that I understand and empathize with.)

I agree with both Rebecca & Jaybird — Sonny & Carly made AJ out to be a horrible despicable creature and as Michael stated in the show the other day, Sonny’s hatred for AJ and wanting him out of Michael’s life is what really made him pull the trigger! Sonny & Carly never look at themselves in the mirror, always calling AJ & now Franco names. That he’s sick & twisted and everything else, meanwhile they go through life screwing the people they “claim to love.”
It still makes NO sense why Sonny would screw Ava even though he knew his son Morgan loved her; he just did it because he wanted too and if felt good at that moment. Carly has no remorse for cheating on Franco, it just felt good to her and she did it over & over again! I think I despise Carly more because she *pretends* to be some upstanding person and isn’t. At least Sonny usually doesn’t give a crap what people think of him! Carly is far worse IMHO.
Both of these two should pay… but alas, the PCPD has a loophole with that tape. Shocking!! I hope Michael never talks to Carly again.
Can’t we just have some payback for once?

Hey Ces…

No…I think this time both of them will pay. If they didn’t, it would negate the entire revelation to Michael. This, I believe, will set off a whole chain reaction of events…new alliances will be formed and old relationships will be broken. Michael will probably turn Q…get close to that side of his family…Sonny will hopefully go to jail…Carly will be broken when Michael turns away from her (as will Sonny), Michael will probably break up with Kiki…and in the old days Jason would probably ride into the rescue and somehow put Humpty Dumpty back together again. But now, we don’t even know where he’ll wind up! I’d like to see him back in the Quartermaine domain…then he and Michael can continue their bond and the Q’s would start building again. But since the Cassadine’s are lurking around to control Jason…that throws that whole theory off…at least temporarily. All in all, should make for great soapy tales…hope they keep up the momentum!

I understand Michael deserved the truth, and couldn’t remain in the dark indefinitely.
That said,Michael didn’t deserve to become Franco’s whipping boy yet again so he
could hurt and maim Carly and Sonny. In the long run it will bring him as little
satisfaction as when he choose to hurt this kind and sweet young man to
get even with “brother” Jason.

lol
I see ”’this nice young man” / Michael,
going over the deep end from this one, and he will change..
I think Michael will finally grow a set and become a mans man and finally be strong and play dirty..ahhhh whoopie Michaels change, luv it!!
Michael will have his vengeance….. !!!!
(and it ain’t gonna be pretty eh )

I loved Roger in those scenes at the wedding; he was superb! It’s time that someone stand his ground against Sonny and his goons. What a performance by a marvelous actor.
I adore Roger as Todd ;however, I’ll accept him as Franco with his effortless acting. He does great work without even trying.
I definitely don’t feel sorry for Carly nor Sonny. Any woman who allows her son to continue to call a man dad (mobster) who killed his father deserves anything bad she gets.
Hopefully, Ron will consistently write well for Roger who will assuredly deliver a flawless performance.

“…Hopefully, Ron will consistently write well for Roger who will assuredly deliver a flawless performance. ”

WOW

Roger was fantastic! It always seems as though he improvs a few of his scenes-always so comedic. Love him!

I have been on a week long business trip and unable to see GH since last Thursday – and won’t see any of the wedding episodes until Friday night – can’t wait!! Hopefully my DVR will have recorded all the eps.

Or U tube it from anywhere. And hold on to Your seat, by Friday GH will be
EXPLOSIVE!!!

BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!! BRAVO!!!

Congratulations to Roger, Maura, and Michelle for stellar performances! The entire cast is in top notch form this week.

I”m so glad, that along with… fans of Roger Howarth were just biding their time

thank you Roger Howarth…. Franco grew a pair and is MOVING

RH is a force to canvas
RH is able to reckon
RH is ON par their

RH goes and presents

Agree!!

Chad Duell owned those emmy performance scenes these past two days on General Hospital. I am thrilled that he finally knows the truth and has disowned his toxic parents! As much as I am a fan of Maurice Benard, I hope that Sonny is arrested and does some time. Tired of everyone justifying his behavior and crimes. Loved how Michael told Carly that when she is not serving herself, she is serving Sonny. Right on, Michael!

Totally! Am beyond thrilled that after all these years of Michael adoring Sonny…the man who tortured, threatened and finally murdered AJ…that Michael knows the truth. I hope this is the turning point where Michael returns to the Q fold and takes his rightful place in his bio dad’s family…where he would have been had he not been taken and then poisoned against them.

I wonder if he would have actually shot Sonny had Dante and/or Silas and Kiki not walked in…in the nick of time. By the way, that hasn’t happened yet but I’m assuming it will.

Great performance by Chad Duell. What I’m assuming wasn’t planned…because it, LOL, couldn’t be…was when he first learned the truth at the wedding and a single tear dropped from his eye. Evan as I say I couldn’t be happier that he now knows the truth, that one tear was so poignant and heartbreaking…

I completely agree. AJ was always getting screwed. It’s about time Sonny and Carly get there’s. And for that matter anybody else that crossed Aj.

I was so wanting him to drop the next M bomb – oh yeah, by the way, the reason I was late to the wedding is because I caught at dad’s hotel room by Shawn Butler and a big gun with a silencer. And oh by the way Dad, remember when I was on the phone worried about dear ole mom and where she was? Well guess who broke her out of Fern Cliff with the idea that they’d murder me before the wedding and pin it on Heather…. except, Heather gave them the slip at just the right moment and poor Shawn couldn’t shoot me dead after all….

I do hope that he doesn’t allow Heather to shoot Carly. I don’t want him to go to jail and be off the screen.

I loved Roger’s performance as always. He was great! He is an amazing actor.

I loved Sonny…..no one seems to remember that he was actually tricked into killing AJ. Sonny is innocent to me. Ava actually killed AJ. She did not pull the trigger but she used him and used him and plotted. She killed Connie, AJ and shot at Olivia trying to kill Franco. She deserves what get is getting. BIG TIME.

Love Franco and I’m So glad Michael has seen what Carly and Sonny really are. YAY! AJ finally getting vindication. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

I’m a little late in my response to the “chickens coming home to roost” episode, but the comments were so gratifying & echoed my thoughts/feelings re Sonny & Carly ‘ s comeuppance. It’s been hell suffering through decades of the ridiculous & nauseatingly righteous stances taken by Sonny–i mean really GH writer’s past & present–he’s a killer; a so-called Don of Port C! He shouldn’t be looking down on nobody! Ok, let me calm myself and that, Rebecca, your impressively astute observation & description of how GH writers present these hypocritically written characters such as Sonny & Carly, was right on target. Those plot devices, or whatever they are, are unbelievably frustrating, to say the least, baffling, and most of all, insulting to all viewers. There’s been, oh so many times where I would stop watching GH for months or a year sometimes, because i couldn’t stomach Sonny & Carly’s self righteousness & their constant berating of poor A.J (Ned & Tracy are almost as guilty, but i digress). Who among us long time viewers can recall how AWFUL Carly was when she 1st came to Port Chuck? Omg, I hated her–she slept with her mother Bobbie’s husband, Dr. Tony Jones; doused AJ with alcohol; dumped him in the gutter & watched his family turn on him, just so she could claim Jason was Michael’s father–not A.J’s. And Sonny? Way back when, he forced & turned Karen into a stripper because she didn’t want him, she loved Jagger (now he was a real man, & sexy–but i digress). All the things he’s done to AJ with Carly’s support but we’re supposed to get all weepy & empathetic towards just because they love Michael so much? Puleeze They stole a man’s son for Jakes sake! However, I love my one remaining soap so I continue to watch and, THANK GOD we all get to watch Sonny and Carly get what they deserve it’s been a long time coming so I hope the writer’s make them suffer for a long time coming as well. God knows we deserve it after all this time! I love the work Roger Howarth is doing. He’s the shot in the arm GH needs to get better & the great again. Lastly, did anyone noticed that Julian told Olivia that Ava was the one who shot her? If I’m not mistaken, didn’t Sean shoot Olivia when he was trying to kill Franco as orchestrated by the ‘sanctimonious’ Carly?
