Ryan Carnes, who previously played Dr. Lucas Jones on General Hospital took a moment to honor and share his remembrances of two of the greatest legends to ever appear on daytime television and the ABC daytime drama series, Anthony Geary and Jackie Zeman, during his recent visit to the Michael Fairman Channel to promote his new vertical holiday drama, The Last Christmas for Daddy to Love Me now on the FlareFlow app.

GH fans remember Carnes as Lucas, Bobbie’s adoptive son and the nephew to Luke Spencer when he appeared on the soap for two runs 2004-2005, 2014-2020. The last time, Carnes ever appeared on the soap was back in January of 2024 in the two-part memorial for Bobbie Spencer, in tribute to his on-screen mother, Jackie Zeman. The iconic star passed away due to her battle with cancer back in May of 2023.

Sadly, almost two weeks ago, we lost eight-time Daytime Emmy winner, Anthony Geary who died at the age of 78 back in Amsterdam, He leaves behind his beloved husband, Claudio Gama and millions of fans everywhere who watched his tour de force performances for nearly four decades as Luke Spencer. ABC plans to run Geary’s final episode as Luke Spencer (he came back for a scene in 2017 to send-off Jane Elliot), on New Year’s Day, January 1st, in honor of the legendary actor. Below are the sentiments shared by Ryan.

TONY GEARY

“My experience with Tony was always positive. He always had a great gentle, and open, kind disposition with me,” expressed Carnes. “Working with him was great. He always struck me as a very, just kind of salt of the the earth, grounded kind of guy. He spent his time when he was not working over in Europe. And this is just my impression, so don’t take that to the bank, but I think he had a long-running career in work, and he just wanted to live a normal existence, aside from that when he wasn’t working. I always respect people who want to do that. I’m kind of like that. I like to go in and work, do the thing and then sort of get out of it, and go back to my life, and not constantly be in the mix. Tony always struck me as that kind of guy that I could relate to.”

Ryan also spoke of sharing the stage with Tony: “He was always the consummate pro and professional and kind. He was one of the people first people I met when I first went back to the show. I don’t believe I ever worked with him my first time on the show years ago. So, when I came back, I got to meet him and worked with him that time early on. Tony showed me the ropes a little bit of that current, at the time, version of General Hospital. It’s a big loss certainly for his family and the daytime community.”

JACKIE ZEMAN

“Jackie was a total sweetheart. There was always such warmth that emanated from her,” recalled Ryan. “Every time I saw her on set, it was a happy moment, or at events. I loved seeing Jackie. She would always go out of her way to ask me about things that she knew about me personally, like  ‘How’s your girlfriend? What’s going on with this? What’s going on with that? How are your parents? How have you been?’ Jackie was just a really good woman and I enjoyed working with her, and of course, having the contextual understanding (in the history of General Hospital and television) that she’s one of the queens.”

GH fans will recall the heartbreaking moment during Ryan’s final return to GH, where after Bobbie’s funeral, the reporter Angela, who is actually Lucas’ sister, BJ returning as a ghost from heaven, call him “champ” before she disappears, leaving Lucas in tears.

Ryan share on the moment, “I remember that scene or those scene. For me, honestly, that was some of the favorite work that I ever gotten to do. Brighton Hertford (Angela/BJ) was delightful to work with. I wish we had more scenes together.”

RAYMOND IS ONE BAD GUY IN VERTICAL DRAMA

In Ryan’s latest project, The Last Christmas for Daddy to Love Me, he plays a young father who is having an affair with another woman, while his wife just wants to give their 8-year-old son one last Christmas before he dies of cancer. But here’s the catch! The father brings home the mistress on Christmas Eve unaware that his son is dying.

Photo: FlareFlowapp

Carnes explained what a rotten guy he is playing in the vertical drama, “Raymond is very stubborn. He lives in his own world, Raymond has a mistress, but it’s no mystery. He’s very open about, about having this mistress. Yes, he bring the mistress home for Christmas, really bad timing on Raymond’s part. He’s not a very emotionally intelligent or  aware guy. He’s pretty crass and crude. The mistress has also has a son and she’s playing a bit of a game. Raymond is manipulating, the mistress is manipulating. The only person that’s not manipulating is Raymond’s actual wife. She’s just desperate to have her husband and her son’s father, give a damn about them, basically.”

In case you missed it, you can check out our full live conversation with Ryan Carnes below.

Now let us know, what did you think of the sentiments Ryan shared on the loss of both Anthony Geary and Jackie Zeman? Do you remember Ryan’s last moments on GH as Lucas in the scene with BJ? Will you check out his new vertical drama? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

‘General Hospital’s’ Asher Antonyzyn Teases When Danny Finds Out Rocco Shot Cullum and Jason Took the Blame, Relationship Status with Charlotte

Published

By

On General Hospital, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) cannot just sit idly by why his father, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was dragged away by the WSB for shooting WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). As Danny one day will find out, it was Rocco (Finn Carr), his brother, who did the deed, and Jason covered for Rocco to protect him. Thus, Danny feels all alone in this world without his dad.

In addition and in recent scenes, GH viewers saw that Danny is considering and wanting to get into the mafia like his dad. He had gone to see Sonny (Maurice Benard) about it and wound up in a conversation with Ric (Rick Hearst) and Sonny. Afterwards, he overheard the men talking about Sidwell (Carlo Rota). So, Danny knows that Sidwell had something to do with Jason disappearing too.

On Sunday, Asher Antonyzyn joined his TV dad, Steve Burton and Burton’s That’s Awesome Podcast partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) for an all-new episode, where the young actor was able to articulate his feelings and thoughts on Danny’s current emotional state and situation in Port Charles while his dad has been taken away to who knows where.

Photo: ABC

MY BROTHER, MY FATHER

When asked how Danny will feel when he learns Rocco was the person who shot Cullum, and who is dad took the fall for, Antonyzyn shared, “Danny still doesn’t know that it was Rocco who shot Cullum and and all that. He still thinks, ‘Why would my dad do this (and shoot Cullum)?” Then, they take him away. When he does find out, I think he’s going to be pretty upset that his dad is being wrongfully accused, and that this entire time Rocco has just been watching Danny struggle through it all and he hasn’t said anything. I’m super glad Danny and Rocco are eventually going to go at it. They’ve been like brothers and they are so close to each other. I’m excited that they will get a little conflict with each other.”

Asher also also shared Danny’s impulsive nature is a big part of the story. “Right now, I think it’s about the anger that his dad was the only person he kind of had left. In the stuff that will be coming out soon, it seems that his dad’s the only person he can trust. So, he’s just missing that relationship and seeing Rocco with his family, and Charlotte with her family, and just all of that. He is just really upset that his dad was wrongfully taken from him.”

JOINING THE MOB

The young actor also explained, because of Danny’s upset, it’s what drove him to wanting in on the mob. “Danny went to Sonny and Rick not knowing where to start, as he was just so angry. He just wanted ammunition, ans he just wanted to do something”. Asher added, “Danny just couldn’t just stand there anymore. So, I think him hearing the name “Sidwell” gives him like a target to try and do something to get his dad back, just so he feels like he’s doing something.”

Photo: ABC

One of the hot topics on social media a few months back occurred when Charlotte and Danny (Bluesy Burke) shared a kiss. Fans were screaming how they were related. Well, it seems from Asher’s comments, that entire potential romance had been sidelined.

CHARLOTTE AND DANNY BESTIES FOR NOW?

“There was for a hot second (something between them). Danny and Charlotte had those scenes together,” Asher stated. “They (Charlotte and Danny) really didn’t really know how to go about it. I mean, Danny talked to his grandma and his dad about if they were related and they said “distant cousins” like great grandfathers, great-great grandfathers, but at the end of the day, still related a little bit.”

Antonyzyn clarified where Charlotte and Danny are with each other, as of now. “So after that, they had one scene together and they’ve kind of realized that it’a like a Jason and Carly (Laura Wright) relationship where they have so much love for each other that they don’t feel like it’s right to go into something like that again.”

You can catch the full conversation with Asher, Steve and Bradford below.

Now let us know, what do you think Danny will do with the intel when he finds out that Rocco shot Cullum and his dad took the fall for it? Are you glad it seems that Charlotte and Danny seem to be no longer a romantic young teen romance? Do you think Danny will go after Sidwell, and get entrenched at Wyndemere? GH’s Dominic Zamprogna On How Dante Plans to Deal with Lulu and Rocco’s Cover-Up After Learning His Son Shot Cullum

Published

on

By

By the end of the Friday May 8 episode of General Hospital, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) with the help of Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) put two and two and realized, that his son, Rocco (Finn Carr) is the person who shot WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) in the back, and was the person who Jason (Steve Burton) was protecting.

This revelation hits the police commissioner like a ton of bricks, especially when he realizes his ex-wife Lulu has been in on the secret and not telling him about it. So, where does Dante go from here? In a new conversation with Soap Opera Digest, multi-Daytime Emmy nominee, Dominic Zamprogna shared what viewers can expect.

Zamprogna expressed on Lulu and Rocco not coming to him for help, “He gets that the reason they probably didn’t want to tell him is because they’re worried that he’s too by the book, but this is his son! He has a lot of anger over them not telling him.”

KEPT IN THE DARK – COMING INTO THE LIGHT

Armed with the truth, Dante’s caught between a rock and a hard place, “This puts him in a situation where he’s potentially going to do things that he wouldn’t normally do, and that’s a big deal for him. Dante having to confront these people for lying to him is going to be good drama and conflict. There is huge emotional fallout from all of this. It has a big effect on his relationships.”

Next week, look for Lulu (Alexa Havins) to be the first-person Dante confronts, “Alexa is so good in those scenes. She is such a powerful actress. But as far as Dante and Lulu go, I could see it taking them a very long time to heal from this, because of her lack of transparency.”

A THANK YOU TO JASON

As far as what Jason did for his son, and how Sonny’s enforcer was grabbed by the WSB and sent away, Zamprogna knows Dante will have a lot of thanking to do, if and when they connect on-screen when Steve Burton returns from his hiatus this summer.”

“Like we needed another reason to love Jason,” Zamprogna scoff, but acknowledging how Dante “definitely (is) going to be owing Jason big-time when he gets back to town!”

So, the once happy family of Dante, Rocco and Lulu is about to fall apart, but can they all work together to keep Rocco safe? Just wait till Dante finds out that his buddy “Nathan” is really Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) ! Something tells me in the end he is going to save Lulu from the guy.

Now, let us know are you looking forward to Dante confronting Lulu and Rocco? How can he protect his son in his position as police commissioner? Will he just look the other way? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nina Stabs Brennan with Drew’s Meds During His Brawl with Valentin

Published

on

By

Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was all over the place and frantic on the Friday, May 8 cliffhanger of General Hospital leading to disastrous consequences, plus Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) learns from intel from Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) that Rocco is the culprit who shot Cullum, and Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Ethan (Nathan Parsons) catch Ric (Rick Hearst) and Ava (Maura West) seemingly scheming over a big payday.

Here’s what went down: in the major turning point, Nina is once again unable to inject Drew (Cameron Mathison) for the second time with the syringe Willow gave her to keep Drew in his locked-in state. She starts rambling in Drew’s room on how she doesn’t want to be doing this, and for him to not stare at her. Suddenly the front door rings, and she puts down the syringe, while Drew looks on.

Once she gets to the door, it’s Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), who Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) forced her to invite over. Nina hides the syringe and places it under a toy truck on the bookcase. When Jack entered, he questioned her as to why he is here, assuming it’s news about Valentin. Jack reminds Nina she should be concerned about their arrangement, not the one he has with Willow.

NEEDLE POINT

Now, Nina is becoming more hysterical as she needs an update from him on the evidence she wants to use against Drew. However, Jack does not give her any details or prognosis. He also adds that his boss is on him, and until Cullum lets up, she and Willow need to be patient. With nothing to hold over Drew she could use, Nina wants to get Jack out of the house before Valentin arrived, but it’s too late. Valentin confronts his nemesis with gun drawn.

As Valentin holds both Nina and Jack at gunpoint, he came at her for double-crossing him, and Jack realized Nina lured him into this trap! Valentin demands to  know where Jack sent Josslyn, but Jack says he has no idea what he is talking about!

Next, the two go at it for control of the gun, while Nina is screaming for them to stop. Meanwhile, Drew can hear the whole thing down the hall. Panicked once again, Nina grabs the syringe to seemingly jab Valentin, but the men switched places as they fought, and Jack got the syringe-full of Drew’s meds instead.

MY SON THE SHOOTER

Elizabeth comes to see Dante and they walk through who could have been on the pier the night Cullum was shot. It is then she admits that when Rocco was brought into GH for what he and Lulu claimed was a knife cut, she knew then, the hand injury looked like a slide bite from shooting a gun. Suddenly, the pieces all come together for Dante and why Jason would take the fall for his son, because he is Sonny’s grandson and Danny’s brother. Dante also figures out that Britt and Lulu have known the truth and kept it from him. He is rocked to the core.

Speaking of Rocco, Lulu (Alexa Havins) is now seeing the other more menacing side of the man she believes is Nathan West. However, his twin, Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) is firmly telling Lulu they have to get Rocco out of town to keep him safe now that Cullum is getting out of the hospital, but she takes his demands badly. Lulu tells Cassius he has no right to tell her what to do with her child. Could you see Lulu ending up just like Josslyn? Kidnapped under Wyndemere? Stay tuned.

BROTHERLY BETRAYAL?

Sonny is spiraling over his distrust for his brother Ric, especially after Ethan reported to him what he saw between Ric and Ava. Now at Ava’s gallery, Ric finishes his business with a mysterious seller. Next, he hands over a hefty commission to Ava at the moment Sonny and Ethan arrive. Sonny aims a gun at his brother,  accusing him of betraying him and Ric looks stunned. We fade to black.

So, what do you think will happen now to Brennan? Will Willow and Nina have to keep drugging him too? If Drew missed his dose, will he come out of his locked-in state and start to have some motion in his arms or legs and make some sort of escape? Do you think Sonny is truly being double-crossed by Ric? And, what did you think of when Dante realized that Rocco shot Cullum and who is the person Jason took the fall for her? Weigh-in via the comment section, but first check out these key moments from today’s GH below.
