Ryan Paevey Wraps His Run as Cassius Faison on ‘General Hospital’

The fate of Cassius Faison was revealed on the Monday, July 6 episode of General Hospital, thus wrapping up the limited return of fan favorite, Ryan Paevey.
In story, Cassius was presumed dead after the climatic shootout with the WSB’s corrupt double agent Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes). As the scenes played out on the July 2 episode, Cullum shot Cassius. Later, we saw WSB head, Z (John Oliver), walk by Cassius’ then lifeless body, but Z checked his pulse. Previously, Z told Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), when she asked about Cassius, that he didn’t make it.
However, as it turns out and in a twist on today’s all-new GH, Cassius actually survived the shootout. Paevey’s final scene was with guest star John Oliver as Z who offered Cassius a job thus leaving the character’s future open-ended.

DOOR’S LEFT OPEN FOR RYAN PAEVEY
In a statement on Ryan Paevey’s status with the show, General Hospital executive producer, Frank Valentini shared to TV Insider, “The door is always open for him to return.”
Valentini also explained that Ryan’s recent comeback was always intended as a short visit, noting, “Ryan’s return was always planned as a short-term arc. He did incredible work, and we loved having him back.”
Ryan Paevey became extreme popular as Detective Nathan West, who fell in love with and married the beloved Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Paevey’s first stint on GH was from 2013-2018. Nathan’s life came to an end when his father, Cesar Faison shot and killed him. Then in September of 2025, over 7 years later, Ryan returned to GH as an imposter posing as “Nathan.” That imposed turned out to be Nathan’s identical twin, Cassius.
FROM NATHAN TO CASSIUS
Previously, Paevey told TV Insider on his hopes for his GH return, “I didn’t want to do a resurrection story. So not to put too fine a point on it, if the intention was to revive this whole machine just to do the same thing over again, I wasn’t going to do it. I mean no insult to anybody, or no betrayal, but we did that already, and it was fun. Don’t undo that. So, then they were like, ‘Well, what if we made everybody think it was Nathan for a while, and it turned out to really not be?’ And I was like, ‘Okay, well, that sounds much more interesting. Let’s talk about what that might be.’ And so that’s what we did.”
So, what did you think about how Cassius was written off the canvas? Are you sad to hear that is the end of the current run of Ryan Paevey? Do you hope GH can have him back sooner than later? Did you enjoy his performances as Cassius? Share your thoughts via the comment section.
would have been good with Joss sad to see him go
Would like a sooner return ..possibly teaming up with Joselyn both as WSB agent’s
Okay, one final time – flowers for Ryan Paevey.
I’m now in my 50th year of watching soaps, and it’s extremely rare for someone to return to a show and up their game as much as Paevey did in the role of Cassius.
He nailed the imposter side, was convincing as a conflicted “villain” and brought the full range of emotions in his final scenes with James.
Watching Nathan could put you to sleep. Cassius, on the other hand, had many layers. Convincing in a short-lived romance with Lulu while taking command of the Cullum-Rocco-Jason aftermath.
Ryan Paevey, job well done. Best of luck in your future endeavors. As Frank mentioned, the doors at Prospect Studios will always welcome you home.
I loved seeing Ryan Peavey back on GH. I’m sorry it was short term. I hope he comes back as a WSB agent in one of the storylines and stays longer, maybe working out of Port Charles office.
Not surprised. The writing was on the wall with how the storyline played out. I will say I did not like him as Nathan West, but he absolutely improved between then and now with Cassius.
I was sorry to see Paevey’s character
‘killed’ and was really thrilled to see that he
had survived on the July 6th episode.
I have been watching GH since 1978; Ryan Paevey is one of the actors that makes
this show so watchable. I hope he will stay.
I am bummed he’s left. I started keeping up with his scenes with Josslyn for roughly the last month, and even watched Thursday and Friday’s GH episodes live on TV for the first time in almost 15 years, that’s much I was/AM rooting for Cassius and Josslyn “Jossius”.
So while I already had no doubt that Cassius survived, I was so happy to see him show up yesterday, confirming my belief, but then that excitement was short lived with bittersweetnesss, as it was revealed Ryan Paevey had exited GH and yesterday was his last episode. So I can only hope there maybe secret plans in mind, as Cassius was intentionally left alive for the possibility of him returning one day, Frank said the door is always open for Ryan. Fingers-crossed Ryan would like to return in the near future.
Until then, it’s peace out again GH.
Why can’t he be Nathan brainwashed as Cassius trying to get web busted ..stop getting his mom upset so much on coming and going ..a real mom could not take tht
I will miss him. He is a very good actor. Hope he can come back soon .
There’s SOOOO much more story to be told with Cassius! They played so many threads in the time Ryan was back. I hope that he returns for another arc or long-term stay very soon. Cassius is alive. People (especially Obrecht) need to find this out. Cassius needs to face the truth with James and so many others in PC. It’s nothing I would want to do, but it would be compelling story; his redemption story, if you will. There’s the whole Maxie/Lulu story that needs to be resolved once a new Maxie is cast. What about his family finding out he’s Cassius? The PCPD? What kind of mess does this make for them, having hired an imposter so nonchalantly? Does it invalidate any arrests he may have made during his time with the PCPD? (Yes.) Ryan is so compelling. I wish him well and hope he returns very soon.
Hoping he was working undercover to pretend he was bad just to bust sidwell and cullium
Sad to see him go. I was hoping he’d stay at least a year. However, I was not looking forward to a pairing with Joss. I think there’s too great an age difference there. Others have said Vaughn is too old for her also. But he’s probably closer in age with her than Cassius. I actually think Joss and Carly need to go on an extended mother-daughter trip somewhere and give us viewers a break from them. I love Eden and Laura, but their characters are so petulant. Eden and Laura are probably mentally exhausted playing those characters most days. As a viewer, it’s exhausting just watching them sometimes.
Bring Cassius back to work in WSB office
It was good to see him back. A lot of relationships were left unresolved. I would love to see him back soon.
I’d love to see him back again as Cassius. The character has a lot more story to tell.
Ive liked Cassius
I have never like it when they kill ryan pevey ..off of the soap..glad when he reappeared..now hes gone again..iam going to miss him ..
Bring Cassius back please. Lulu didn’t get to have her real closure with him, nor did Maxie. Also, I wished that Cullum could have lived to be taken out by Sidwell while being “bunk mates” in a WSB prison. Poetic justice for Marco.
I have watched General Hospital from the first day. I’ve been told yesterday July 7 people common people go. I have five children, three of which could not leave for school in the morning unless the tape was put in the TV to record general they were hooked on the soap as I was the actress who played the parts are like they are those people more than any other soap opera I ever watched. I hope Cassius comes back on. I believe he was a great asset to general. I don’t really have a favorite general is my favorite. Thank you for whoever wrote the script and the people that came forward to it to make it happen.
I don’t want him to leave. He’s become my favorite character on the show. Please bring him back soon. I was hoping when Joss found out he was alive; she would tell the truth of what really happened. They had a special bond. He’s a great actor and added so much to the show!
Love RYAN want him to return to GH
Bring Cassius back love his acting.
Yes I’m sad . Please come back soon

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Chase Gets to The Bottom of Brook Lynn’s Lies; But is Jordan Truly the Person Responsible for Her Own Car Crash?

The marriage of Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) just took a nosedive on the Friday, September 4 episode of General Hospital, while Trina (Tabyana Ali) got an earful, Anna (Finola Hughes) lured Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) into a trap in the middle of nowhere, and oh, yes! Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarksi) and Rocco (Finn Carr) shared their first kiss.
Here’s the takeaways from Cliffhanger Friday. First, as the Quartermaines host a Labor Day weekend party, Chase’s suspicions about Brook Lynn being the other driver in Jordan’s (Tanisha Harper) car accident grew while cutting limes with Emma (Braedyn Bruner) in the kitchen. There, Emma mentioned that Brook actually arrived late to Charlie’s Pub and missed the first song of the night during Trina and Gio’s (Giovanni Mazza) performance.
Now loaded for bear, Chase sees Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) in the Quartermaine foray, and asks to speak with her in the kitchen, privately. Having put two and two together (for once! Chase can’t seem to do that where Willow’s concerned) he tells Lucy, he knows she lied in her statement to the police pointing the finger at Willow for the car accident and demanded the truth!

ROUTE 91
Meanwhile, Jordan is also present at the party, and Tracy (Jane Elliot) and Michael (Rory Gibson) tell her that they want her to keep a close eye on Drew (Cameron Mathison) while working at Aurora Media. Inside the living room, Lucy is making a hasty exit from the party after spilling the beans to Chase. Next, a pissed off Chase pulls Brook Lynn into the kitchen.
Then, he tells his wife his theory of what happened the night Jordan got in a car crash. Chase says Brook Lynn’s car was on Route 91 at the same time of Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Jordan’s car crash. However, Chase thinks she is covering for someone in the family. Brook Lynn promises to talk to him more about this later when they are alone, but it’s too late. Outside on the terrace, Trina heard the whole thing!
Now in the living room, and getting ready to hear Gio and Trina do a performance from their set at the club earlier in the week, Chase and Brook Lynn look upset. Trina comes into the room looking very angry and demands to know the truth from Brook Lynn! She wants to know if she was the driver of the other car who left her dad and Jordan at the side of the road.

ARE WE OUT OF THE WOODS?
Meanwhile, Anna who is off her rocker, has lured Britt (who stupidly went to meet her) out in the middle of the woods. Jason (Steve Burton) got wind of where Britt is, when Sonny (Maurice Benard) informed he sold some land to Anna. Jason is trying to get a hold of Britt fearing she is walking into a trap, but she is not answering her phone.
When Britt finally catches up with Anna, she asks her why did they have to meet in the middle of the boondocks? Suddenly, Anna pulls out a gun and replies, “So no one can hear you scream.” We fade to black.

FIRST KISS
As one thing has lead to another, Scout and Rocco have found themselves leaning on each other and developing feelings for one another. In story, Rocco and Scout picked up Outback and went to the boathouse for one last swim before the summer comes to an end.
While they swam, Outback ran off and wound up back where he was earlier, in the wood,s trying to dig up Jack! Back at the boathouse following their swim, Scout and Rocco have a heart-to-heart, where Scout admits she feels the only person who truly understands her through all the turmoil she has gone through with her dad and brother is Rocco. The two share a kiss.
Now below, check out the scene between Chase and Lucy where he demands she amends her statement to the police as Brook Lynn becomes the chief suspect in running Jordan and Curtis off the road causing their car crash.
Weigh-in: When all is said and done, isn’t Jordan the person who is responsible for her own crash, by taking her eyes off the road to kiss her ex-husband, Curtis Ashford? Do you think Brook Lynn’s cover-up will send Chase running in the direction of Willow and the two will hit the sheets? Glad to see Scout and Rocco share a lip-lock? ‘General Hospital’ to Rebroadcast Special Episode in Tribute to Anthony Geary

This Labor Day, General Hospital will show an encore presentation of its touching tribute to the late Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer). The news came from ABC executive, Nathan Varni who shared the information across social media.
Varni expressed, “Save the date! ABC will encore our very special farewell tribute to Tony Geary this Labor Day, Monday, September 7.”
The episode was originally broadcast on February 20, 2026, and honored to the late eight-time Daytime Emmy winner, who sadly passed away on December 14, 2025 at the age of 78.

Photo: ABC
The tribute episode centered on Luke’s daughter Lulu (Alexa Havins) finally grieving the loss of her father after she had come out of a four-year long coma and never dealt with her grief on learning the news of his death.
WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE ON-SCREEN REMEMBRANCE OF LUKE SPENCER?
The other characters who remember their time with Luke who are included in the episode with many flashbacks were: Tracy (Jane Elliot), Sonny (Maurice Benard), Carly (Laura Wright), Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and of course, Laura (Genie Francis).
Behind the scenes, General Hospital wanted to pay tribute to its most iconic star, but since the character of Luke was killed-off in 2022 off-screen, after Geary retired, there wasn’t an easy creative route to go when Geary passed away in real-life. However, the writers did a commendable job with this special episode in tying in memories and remembrances of Luke through Lulu’s grief as a starting point.

THE LAST APPEARANCE OF TONY GEARY ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Anthony Geary exited General Hospital in 2015 after his record-setting eight Daytime Emmy Lead Actor wins for his work. He then moved to Amsterdam full-time to live with his husband, Claudio Gama.
Two years later, Geary made one final appearance on GH, when in 2017 he popped in the last scene of what was Jane Elliot’s then departure from the show when Tracy was reunited with Luke in Europe.
You can check out the original promo for the special episode “Remembering Luke Spencer” and the late Tony Geary from back in February of this year below.
Now let us know, will you be watching the Anthony Geary tribute again this coming Monday? Do you miss seeing the character of Luke Spencer in Port Charles? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
