GENERAL HOSPITAL: Spinelli Utters "Stone Cold" When He Happens Upon "Jake"!

On Wednesday’s General Hospital, it was during the final moment of the episode that was most noteworthy!
As “Jake” (Billy Miller) signs his release papers from GH, and as Carly (Laura Wright) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) are standing by happy to hear the news that he is recovered enough from his surgery to move on with his life, Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) with Sam (Kelly Monaco) happen upon the scene.
From Spinelli’s vantage point. he sees “Jake” in traditional Jason Morgan black t-shirt attire from behind. When he comes upon the “mystery man”, he utters out loud, “Stone Cold?” Sam hears this and doesn’t know what to make of it, and in true sudsy fashion the episode ends and fades to black.
The questions are: Can Spinelli deduce the clues and put together the pieces that “Jake” is indeed his beloved friend? Will this chance meeting set the sleuthing genius on the path to solving this once and for all? Will “Jake” recall who Spinelli is when he sees him? Share your thoughts below!
If Jake doesnt recognize Sam, son Danny, Liz, Skangster moll Carly or even his own picture, very doubtful he will recognize Spinelli…recurring or not, why cant we have Monica appear in some Jake scenes…i still believe Jake’s identity will be revealed at nurses ball or May sweeps…and probably when Liz and Nik get cozy and she learns he knew about Jake all this time!!!
You forgot Sonny– I wasn’t watching during the Jason years, but based on what I heard and read Jason and Sonny were joined at the hip. I imagine during May Sweeps during some big confrontation between the mob families Jake will come face to face with Sonny, and as either Sonny or Jake is about to shoot the other, Jake will remember Sonny and then remember who is he is. Personally, I would love it if it was Monica who figures out who he really is, but considering how mob center this show is I wouldn’t be surprise if meeting Sonny is the trigger to get Jake to remember he is Jason.
I did forget…im getting old…lol…itll probably be Sonny who will trigger Jasons memory…was hoping Jason would have some heart problem and it was Monica who operates on him and when he wakes up he recognizes her and calls her mom!!!
It’s a shame that no one knew or loved Jason to know his movements and just regular things ppl know about each other..I think of everyone either sam or Sonnie should have a rude awakening and realize
Speaking of Monica, wish they had shown her “convincing” the Judge that Michael should get custody of AJ (Avery). Would love to see more of her, and baby could use another Grandmother.
I think Monica and the judge were only written as a couple solely for the purpose of Micheal gaining custody of Avery-it wouldve been nice to see Monica influencing the judges decision but it was obvious this was done off screen-i dont think tptb intend to use Monica for more than a few episodes a year and we will see her only for a couple episodes when Jake is finally revealed to be Jason and as soon as we blink, Monica and the Judge will disappear with the long missing Epiphany and Milo on their double date to forgotten character land hosted by Mac and Felicia…
you though the ending scene was the most noteworthy ? i though it was nathan and dante showering together! lol, ok so back to the last noteworthy scene of yesterdays episode, i think everyone will give spinneli that awkward look and nothing will come of it. also worth noting on yesterdays episode that hypocrite carly spend the night at sonny’s house after michael gain custody of AJ, and after they all guilt tripped him, only to wake up the next day and instead call or go check on her daughter little brat josslyn, her first thought was to go visit “Jake” , so there you have it folks, Carly’s priorities have always been Men, not her children, so for her to be giving anyone any advice on parenting is the ultimate hypocrisy. She’s the next one who deserves to have everything taken from her.

Hopefully we’re getting toward the actual story line where the reveal happens. It’s beginning to drag on a bit. Also hopefully the Luke story picks up the pace. I know things happen slowly in the soap world. The pace is getting to be downright glacial.

Agreed. Jake and Fluke storylines getting boring to me. The last 3-4 weeks, I have found myself doing other things while also “watching” GH.
Me too! Too much mob stuff too with dull Duke and Jerome. That and new annoying kiki and i can do plenty of multi-tasking!
Same here, though I never sit and watch during the day. My baby is a good little girl, but when my son gets home from school, mayhem happens.
There is no way I can go through more torturous months of anticipation. As with the Fluke storyline, after a while I just didn’t care any more. The thrill was gone. It made no sense.
I don’t want to lose interest in Jake’s story progression, only because it’s Billy Miller.
Seems like they have cooled on the Fluke story. Maybe AG is headed on vacation? I still think he kidnaps Avery. [A.J.]

We just saw Spin in December treating Maxie as just a good friend & mother + Spin showing Nathan respect & kindness in Portland. Even if we had seen Spin sad, indecisive, gazing out windows in Portland, perhaps we’d believe his renewed passion.
Hoping TPTB want to get closure on Spixie for now.
Carly keeps waxing on about Jake, Jake, Jake to Sonny, knowing what he was trying to do to Franco just months ago. He’ll probably shoot Jason before it’s all over.
Spin saw Jason’s clothes, shape & stance from behind & Jake was surrounded by Jason’s old harem-I can see why he’d go there & blurt it out w/o thinking. The ladies may not have recognized him cuz the 1st views Jake’s harem got of him in PC months ago was from the front & w/Jake’s face, not Jason’s. So Jake maybe being Jason doesn’t resonate.
I agree Jake hasn’t done anything worth a %$&* yet. Hospital 3x in 5 months, passing out on docks & brain surgeries that Patrick don’t recognize his handywork. Jake needs job, place to live where the jealous lover doesn’t pop in, & to interact w/different characters, like some men! Oh, he’s spent months in GH but not come across Monica while he was conscious once???
SO WILL JAKE AND SPINELLI BECOME ROOMATES?
So…..supposedly intelligent women like Liz and Sam (I would include Carly here, but she aint intelligent on any level) cannot even pick up one slight clue that Jason might be Jake….in spite of the 374 or so clues…..like him using the name Jake…him responding to emotional stimuli that only Jason would…..the multiple brain damage and operations…his gastounding sniper skills….his voice…perhaps a mannerism or two…him having Jason’s memories….etc etc. Yet Spinelli walks around a corner, sees the back of a man in a black t shirt…and is so visibly rattled and shaken that he utters Stone Cold. Why not hire Spinelli as Police Chief or head of the WSB? Anna cant solve a crime to save her life. There are other narrative formats…other than dumbing down your characters to the most moronic and absurd levels….but Ron doesnt seem to have learned any others yet.

Spinelli, with all his super instinctual, highly functioning Asperger’s-sixth sense -self, seems to be cognizant that he is existing in an alternate universe where such things are possible.

Don’t forget Danny immediately felt comfortable with Jake as well. What’s the saying…sometimes through the eyes of a child? Sam’s pretty good about connecting the dots. In this case maybe she’s too close to this one, or Jake, even possibly being Jason, is too fantastical for her. Yet there always seems to be a question in her eyes when another clue drops into place.

Jason’s grieving trio of loveelorn groupies, Sam, Carly and Lizzy, failed to recognize him, but Jackal did not.
I laughed when that happened in yesterday’s episode. I was thinking how ironic that the women in Jake’s past life hadn’t picked up on the clues, but Spinelli’s objective eyes (absent from Jake’s recent return) & that their former bromance might be what propels the story forward. I thought it was cute!

I suppose we all question how on earth no one picks up any of Jake’s nuances. So, out of the three women, and Patrick ,who performed surgery on him once before , and ,as a doctor, should have recognized his own work; it took Spinelli to get his hackles up?
Also, as you point out, his voive should have been a dead giveaway….or did Helena change that too?
I think Jake needs to get intimate with one or all his “loves”. The revelation will be tumultuous….pun intended.
And CeeCee what about Monica. She loved Jason, its her son. If they had her in a damn scene or two with Jake I think Monica would put two and two together! What mother doesnt know her son?

Absolutely, Timmm. There is no way a mother would not know her son. Even Jake’s stance, the way he turns his head, the inclination of his head and body, his mannerisms, HIS HANDS, for goodness sake!!!!
Anyone who was close to him should pick out the slightest detail of what made/makes Jake Jason. I can spot my husband a mile away, even from the back…..as I can all my family and close friends.
So, this notion of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery is not true to life. Had Jake been among strangers, one could understand the reasoning. But, these are people who were fixtures in his past.
Nonetheless, I think Spinelli sparked some distant, fuzzy memory; recognition, if you will.
As many of us have stated, please let this be a swiftly passing storyline. I would like to see Billy Miller , finally ,come to life.
Tell me about it, CeeCee….One of the things that has always made Anna so special and unique is that she’s not just “one of the girls.” The divine Devane was far better than that…..an unflappable alpha-female in a man’s world who could stand toe-to-toe with the big boys, whilst looking fashionably chic at the same time! And…she would never back down. Seeing her reduced to playing this monotonous “SpyChicks” game with Jordan is beyond silly and demeaning….not to mention, completely amateurish. I really hope that this insipid storyline is put to rest sooner rather than later, so Anna can assume her rightful place and return to doing what she does best….being in charge! Oh, and by the way, I am the only one who found Sloane’s “drop the towel” tease and off-color remarks beyond boorish, appalling and disgusting?

I did not find the dropping of the towel so boorish as ridiculous. He must have an IMMENSE ego.LOL. I was actually impressed by his aging bod. He is a bit scrawny, though. I like tone and sinew….Many men, older than he, aren’t as lucky. But, Anna’s play-on-words MINIMIZED the object of Sloane’s pride and joy. I thought it was silly and hilarious. Once I found the humor of the stupid spectacle, I let it go as nonsense.
I really was not offended, nor taken aback by the gesture….I knew from the get-go this ‘momentous’ occasion would eventually come to pass. Not exactly in this fashion, but the sexual interest would have come to light sooner or later. I expected it.
Let me ask you, though. Would you have been as appalled by the ‘towel drop’ if it had been a woman? We see women toy with men’s ‘sense and sensibilities’ all the time. Is it that old double standard come to visit? Is “What’s good for the goose ….”etc., implied? I am just confused as to why this scene was on?????? TPTB make Sloane look like a jerk… Women hate that….less is more? Is that what this is?…LOL. One should never, ever show all his cards all at once. Sloane needs to learn how to play the game.LOL.
Anyone is better than Duke, though. He is so much like Sam (are we sure she is not his daughter? They would fit into the age slot), he is as monotonous as she. Duke’s dour countenance leaves a lot to be desired. ….I like him even less than Sonny.
Hey there, CeeCee! I’m not really sure of the spirit in which the writers meant that “towel dropping” scene….insulting, erotic or just plain disarming to Ms. Devane???? I personally thought her expression relayed repulsion, in which case, I would have heartily agreed, and so I found humor in that. She was clearly NOT impressed! Other than that, without knowing the actual intent of the act, I have nothing more to add, other than I did find it inappropriate. It’s not as if this were a friendly situation with two parties who had already technically dated and had some sort of budding romance going…..Anna was there on official business, so even if Sloane’s behavior was no great surprise, I thought it was really uncalled for in that particular circumstance. And I would have probably said the same thing were the tables turned on the sexes…I could never imagine her doing something like that in a similar situation with Sloane….as for other females, yeah, there are plenty of women in Port Charles who would have no compunction in using their whiles—in other words, displaying their goods, and no, I shall name no names—-to discombobulate an impressionable male, so it would all depend upon whom was doing the deed and why before I could specifically say yay or nay! As for Duke, yes, he is most unenthusiastic….quite a far cry from his earlier days on the show, however, the one thing I did appreciate in his love scenes with Anna was that they conveyed a classy and mutual respect…neither had to show off their assets or slobber all over each other like they were barnyard animals in heat….their physical relationship was portrayed, i.e., intimated, in a much more tasteful manner than other characters of a similar demographic….again, I won’t mention anyone specifically……Having said that, the more I see of Mr. Lavery, the less I think of a mobster, as opposed to say, a dealer of rare antiquities….that’s just the vibe he gives off to me….courtly, dignified and cultured. The total opposite of Sonny Tortelli.

Moreover, at the risk of getting a rolling of the eyes, I think he actually looks a little ‘alienish’. All he needs are extra-pointy ears.
Anna may have been there on official business, however I personally thought that the sexual tension was remarkable, nonetheless. I would have preferred Sloane be the previous actor in the role, but I did not feel a connection there. Rodd (sp) did not appear tough enough. He had more of a ‘baby face’.
Lol, Shay. Duke and Anna’s lovemaking was classy? How does one have ‘classy’ sex? I did not watch then…I was not allowed to watch sex scenes when I was that age. But, I would be bored to death if my husband was ‘classy’ in the bedroom. I think that in the privacy of one’s bedroom, anything goes.
But, there is so much these actors can do. I do agree that some of them are exhibitionists and do more than required. But, it is what it is….new age, new era. I just think that at a certain age, and I know that engaging in sex has no age limit, I do not want to be subjected to it. I get visions of my parents, or grandparents doing it…gross. But, that’s my problem…LOL. Later.
Sad but true, CeeCee….and it pains me to say that, because I remember when Duke was such a vital, suave bad boy who could rock a kilt like no other! LOL. Then IB went on to other soaps and started playing all sorts of weird, defective characters…..still, I had high hopes when he returned to Port Charles. Alas, those years in the “Turkish prison” took their toll….and me thinks those alien-like features to which you refer may be courtesy of a wee-bit too much botox….As for Sloane and his “Chippendales” act…..I think it would have been far more appealing with the first actor…I appreciated his boyish charm, and I did feel he had a spark with Anna that—for me—is not present with this new, not-improved, reptilian version. What would have seemed playful & pleasantly teasing with Robb Derringer came off as simply menacing and rude with Grayson McCouch….just my opinion. As for Anna and Duke’s nookie sessions, I was comparing them with the more laughable—and sometimes puke-worthy—OTT scenes with Scotty and Bobbie Boop/Floosy Coe as well as the more frequent and nauseating displays between Julian and well, you know. With Sir Duke and Lady Anna the romance of the moment was more emphasized as opposed to the raunching &rolling, if you get my drift. Let’s just say it certainly sufficed and the message that they were a happy and satisfied couple came through loud and clear without requiring further illustration. Worked for me.

LOL….I concur that the Franco “Monchichi” tour de force was tres amusing…..I don’t mind RoHo’s inspired antics in the least, I just prefer him without his current choice of pseudo(?)-psycho sidekick! (And sorry, but NO amount of telepathic chanting is apt to change that…..MS’s nerve-wracking Nina remains in my crosshairs for a swift departure from Port Charles….immediately behind the insipid Sappy!) However, I do think this misunderstood maniacal man-child may have hit upon something….how befitting are Scott and Alexis as a couple? “Mr. and Mrs.,” indeed! The bloviating, unfortunately-coiffed Baldwin is not surprisingly unattached, and so should be that bosom-baring, sex-crazed grand-mammy as soon as Julian comes to his senses and gravitates toward his bodacious babymama, Olivia, so…..putting those two together sort of kills two problematic birds with one stone. Besides, I much prefer NLG’s Ms. Davis as a purposely funny comedienne, instead of the unintentionally comical—and exasperating–sexually-insatiable, flustered femme with the too-tight wardrobe that she works so hard at portraying. As for those self-confessed naughty notions, I would give more than a penny to see them put to post here, but I know better than to encourage such sauciness, since you have made a promise to be on your best behavior!!!! Right, Su. For once (I think), Jason is working for the cops, undercover, acting the good guy, as I suspect Nikolas is. I hope that when Jake does remember, he emerges as Jason Quartermaine. I also hope that his first meeting with Sonny will be the catalyst to realize his true identity.
Now, Sonny does not buy , nor is he completely convinced this device business which had been planted in Jake’s head was the culprit for his ungodly behavior. He announced to Duke that it takes a very skillful and experienced hand to execute that kind of abduction and to use Sam as a human shield to aid in the escape of Faison. No novice, Jake!! Well, I say……it takes one to know one.
Am I the only that wants Spinelli to go away??? Im sorry but this character just irks me so much. Everytime he has scenes I just want to FF through them to make it end. Im all for Quirky type characters, but I find his long winded sentences so draining and a lil over the top for my taste.
Plus I just love me some Maxie and Nathan. I think maybe cause it took a year for that relationship to actually bloom, I heart them. Also it was like I got rid of one annoying character with Levi, to have him replaced with another annoying character chasing Maxie.
But what really bugs me, is that this is the same character that chose Ellie after Maxie poured her heart out to him, took Maxie’s child, and for the 1st yr wouldnt make any accommodations towards Maxie. He left. Nathan was there to pick up the pieces and help Maxie realize to fight for her child. So now that he has decided that they belong together the whole world should stop because now he wants Maxie. Im like boy sit down. Rolling up in town wanting her AFTER she has healed and in a better place. I attribute that all to Nathan, so I find his actions to be selfish and its become grating.
For once I wish this could play out like the real world where sometimes you are too late and the person you didnt choose has moved on and found happiness. Now that is true heartache and loss, which would be nice to be played out on a soap for once other than the typical Soapy shenanigans.
ITA, Maxie&Nathan are the best couple on the show right now, and they’d better not give us Spixie redux instead! I always loved Spin, but NEVER Spixie. He turns her into a cartoon character. This is Frisco & Felicia’s daughter! She deserves an epic romance like theirs.
Travis, I am so with you! I cannot stand Spinnelli. The act is old. It reminds me of some kind of annoying character in one of those Disney teen shows! And seriously, in what world would a Maxie choose a Spinnelli over Nathan?

I always liked Spinelli. He was a rare “heart and soul” character who provided goofy, lovable comic relief. I liked him with Maxi and his friendship with Jason, Sam, Lulu and Dante. And the occasional interaction with the hilarious Diane..who we never see anymore was always fun. I missed his presence on the show as it seemed more and more familiar faces were leaving. For continuity sake, I like when familiar faces return…and his is good timing as his Stone Cold…or Jason Q? Is finally revealed. His presence should be poignant in Jason’s “saga.”
With that said I adore Nathan, but once again GH builds up a budding romance, and just as the couple finally makes their way to each other the writers throw in an obstacle. I’m rooting for Nathan and Maxi…I’d like to see how they play out…but I’m not sure if Nathan will ever get or accept the things Maxi does like Spinelli…I hope he can.
Last…they made Spinelli more aggressive, pushy. Gotta give Spin credit for even thinking he has a chance against Detective Sexypants!
Finally, someone sees a Jason in Jake. It’s truly hard to believe that Sam or Elizabeth wouldn’t recognize his voice (shouldn’t have changed), his fingers and nails (I would know my husband’s), his built, and on and on.
Also, if Jason had not been hit by the car, wouldn’t he have been walking around with his own face? How was Helena going to hide that fact? She told Nicholas that it was an added bonus that he had a face change which means that she was going to use him as her “soldier” when he had his own face. Am I right about that?
Yes…at the time I thought she would brainwash him to be a spy or strong arm….perhaps going back to work for Sonny or becoming a Q again…they would have their Jason back but he’d be doing secret jobs for her…perhaps in a now too commonplace Port Chuck mask to hide his identity when under her influence…
Spin’s unwavering belief that this person with his back to him is his long
lost friend,was so touching and sadddddd…..
Even “Jake” felt a bit of the unexplainable pull,much like with Danny.
They will drag this out 4 months.
I think it will run for 2 more weeks..
Jake will be Jason much sooner than most think 😉

A few chapters, in the book I mentioned some posts ago, vivifies that life. I doubt you would like to live it. GH is not real and what we see is insular…..only skims the surface. I don’t think it is that glamorous. And, Sonny never dies? All he gets is a beating in prison? Really? A Don of ‘la cosa nostra’ would not mingle among the other prisoners….he would be separated from the rif-raf for his own protection. Furthermore, a Don would hold ‘court’…jesters and all….LOL.

I noticed nothing from those mob scenes, I’ve started to FF through dock shootings. Who’s the biggest fool of them all? Sonny, Julian, Duke, Shawn, Carlos, Johnny? Many had somewhat well-written mob exit openings and/or women they loved & a few had new families to protect & fill future days with-reasons to leave, but they refuse to leave the mob! Now they have folks like Fluke, at 1 point, dying to join in with mad fervor. Jake must join or be jailed. Jordan, STILL, bouncing around on the inside, too (but she wants out.) Who will join next? Seems quite easy if you ask Jake. Sam: Dad, will you hire Jake Doe, who planted bombs all over PC, broke into my house to kill Patrick&I after he held me hostage at PCPD? He has no memory or family he remembers, no ss # to run a check on him, but I know he’s good people.
Question- Earlier you said “in what world would a Maxie choose a Spinelli over Nathan?” Don’t you rag on Nathan & his line deliveries? LOL..I think it’s you, so this statement surprised me. If it is you, I appreciate that you know that just because you don’t like things about a character and/or how they’re portrayed, you understand their importance to other characters & how they fit into the dynamics of the show.
Laurie, yes its me, the Ryan Peavey basher. Basher is too harsh! I get frustrated with him because of his greenness as an actor and he is with a lot of front burner characters. However, I have nothing against the man. He interviews well and seems very nice. I also must say he has improved. I think one thing is his dialect is odd and that may affect his delivery? He needs to show more emotion, happy, sad, or angry. And Laurie you are right, I did comment about Maxie’s no brainer choice between Nathan and Spinnelli. It has to be Nathan not only because he is handsome and chiseled out of stone, he and Maxie have actually built a relationship on screen that started off rocky, then they were friends and now lovers. I respect their history and chemistry and that is the second reason to pick Nathan over Spin. Take care.

Yes, CeeCee….I noticed “Grossalie” in the OM commercial….perhaps that’s her “secret”…..that she’s really a housewife with a family in the ‘burbs, and her alter ego only pretends to be a street-tough chick! LOL. All I know is that I keep hoping she chokes on that sandwich so we will be spared yet another round of Michael slumming with her…..now that his taste for the sauce is coming to fore it appears that my prediction he is going to replicate AJ’s perilous path to ruin is about to come true….right down to his predilection for questionable, lesser-than females with whom to associate! But I do have to wonder, could “Grossie” also be part of Sloane’s rat patrol? She has been hiding something and she’s so shady that I cannot imagine that it is anything good.

I may be wrong, but I don’t think Sloane is crooked, nor is Rosalie. I think Sloane really means to rid PC of ‘dirty rats’. Whatever Helena is holding over Ro’s head is inconsequential……some convenient excuse TPTB needed at the time……our brains are getting teased….same as the Fluke story. I am still waiting for that punchline that will blow me away. So far, nothing has stirred or shocked my mind to the point of incredulity, except for convoluted nonsense.
I admit Sloane’s physique is not bad , but, he is an aging peacock whose drooping tail feathers have lost their luster. Why would Anna want that? She can probably have anyone she wants….she is such an enigmatic persona.

I love winter, I love cold weather and I always hate the onset of spring….particularly when it arrives too early. I can tolerate it when it starts around May….no sooner! Still, I hope you come out of this latest weather system relatively unscathed since you have weekend plans. Ariana, huh? Could be much worse…thank your lucky stars it’s not Miley Cyrus! LOL. As for Sloane, the reason I consider him to be sinister is the recast….if his character were supposed to be such a boy scout, a hero with a white hat riding into town to clean up the streets, than why would the show runners have replaced an All-American type of guy with someone who registers much more nefarious? There seems to be a method to this madness, although I certainly cannot hazard a guess as to what is…..having said that, I truly don’t see the dynamic Devane going for that creepy dude, well-preserved physique or not. I’d actually like to see Frisco come back to town to pair up with her, as it appears there’s no prayer of Robert returning to Port Charles any time in the near future. Seems we shall have to just wait and see what direction all this takes….not unlike so many other storylines that have just been hanging on…and on. In terms of Grossalie, I can’t imagine her as having a benevolent purpose either….I just read a teaser implying she may be an illegitimate Cassadine (though unbeknownst to Helena….) I don’t know if I buy that, but I have long thought she’s an illegitimate something or other! However, for the record, she does look like she could definitely do a real beat down on Sappy, so if push comes to shove, I’ll go “Team Grossie!” (Just kidding…well, sorta…maybe.) At any rate, have a “Grande” weekend, Girl!!!!

Not only that, but when Patrick was studying and looking at Jake’s X-Rays, something should have rung a bell. Many of us are insulted as well.

Kelly Sullivan Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’s’ Maura West Recalling When Ava Shot Connie (Exclusive)
It was just over 13 years ago on General Hospital when Ava Jerome (Maura West) shot and killed Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in an effort to keep her quiet from revealing that Derek Wells was actually Ava’s back-from-the-dead brother, Julian Jerome (William deVry). It’s a crime that somehow Ava never has quite paid for either.
The episode back aired on August 13, 2013 and viewers had to say goodbye to Kelly Sullivan who played Kate and her alter, Connie. In the story, just before she died, Kate/Connie scrawled the letters AJ in her own blood, initially making the PCPD and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) think that it was AJ Quatermaine (Sean Kanan) who did the deed.
Now, Sullivan recalled sharing scenes with the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning West, during a live conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel. Kelly was the special guest talking about her recent return to the soaps in her new role as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darcy Dylan.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MAURA WEST
Speaking of her final GH scenes and working with Maura West, Sullivan gave her then GH co-star major props. “If you’re going to be shot by somebody (on the soaps), you want to be shot by Maura West, c’mon!”
Maura West debuted back in May 2013 as Ava, and Sullivan remembered when the As the World Turns favorite began on GH. “I remember when Maura West first arrived at GH. She walked in with this cute little bob (hairdo) and she’s just delicious,” shared Sullivan.
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
Kelly revealed more about Maura, adding “I think she’s amazing! I remember right before I left the show, someone suggested, and I would still love to do this with her, if she ever want to, but someone suggested that they wanted to direct the stage play A Streetcar Named Desire with Maura and I, where I would play Stella and she would play Blanche! Wouldn’t that be great?”
Speaking of the Ava/Connie showdown scenes, Sullivan expressed, “On television and on General Hospital specifically, Maura West is able to play a character who does the most horrendous things and you still care about her and that’s the mark of a really great actor. In other words, you’re able to be liked in the midst of the most horrendous things, and as a performer not shying away from that, and to just have the courage to do what’s on the page (in the script).”

Kelly also shared her sentiments when she walked off the set of General Hospital after her run back in August of 2013. “I really was honored. Every day I would go to work and I would say a little prayer, which is I want to do justice for my character, explained Kelly. “It’s between me and my character. I get to walk this path with her and to leave the show on that note, which is, I left every out there. I just gave it my all and again what an honor it was to play Kate/Connie.”

The question of will Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) stay awhile at General Hospital after his recent extended hiatus from the show earlier this year, has reportedly been answered.
TMZ via court documents obtained in Burton’s ongoing legal battle with his ex-wife Sheree Gustin, shared that Steve actually inked a new three year deal with the ABC soap opera back in June.
That is significant because it was June when Burton returned back to work as Jason. In addition, the court filing confirmed that Burton had already moved back to California from Tennessee.

GH fans will recall, it was back in February of 2026, that Burton announced via his Instagram that he was stepping away from his role of Jason Morgan for short break and pointed to wanting to spend quality time with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom Burton with whom he tied the knot back on May 17, 2025.
Steve expressed at that time, “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.” It was back on March 25 that viewers saw Jason carted away by the WSB after taking the fall for Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) who shot then WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Burton returned to work on June 1, and due to General Hospital taping roughly six weeks ahead of air, made his on-screen comeback on the July 13 episode.
GOING FOR GOLD AT THE UPCOMING DAYTIME EMMYS
Then, Steve and his enduring fans got an extra special treat on the same day, when it was revealed on Extra that he was nominated for the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category.
Steve previously won in the Supporting Actor category for his work as General Hospital’s Jason in 1998 and as The Young and the Restless’ Dylan McAvoy in 2018.
Now with Jason and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship seemingly hitting the skids, plus Jason’s commitment to staying out of mob life to focus on being present for his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), what does the future hold for the fan favorite character? Stay tuned.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason and Britt Reach an Impasse; Is This the End of Their Relationship?
On the Friday, September 11 episode of General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship becomes strained to potentially the point of no return.
Things take a turn when an unglued Britt having been traumatized by almost being killed by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) asks Jason to back her up with the PCPD when she reports Anna for attempted murder.
However, Jason told Britt, he can’t. Jason shares that he does not believe Anna would have gone through with shooting her. Therefore, Britt was not in any real imminent danger. Britt is flabbergasted and hurt that Jason is refusing to tell the police what he actually witnessed for himself on Mount Emerson.

BRITT WANTS BACK UP FROM JASON
Jason counters that he can’t believe that Britt would want Anna punished. or sent to prison, or a mental facility after the trauma she endured while being locked up and mentally tortured while at Wyndemere.
He asks Britt, “How could you even say that you want her locked up or prosecuted for what she did when you knew she was being held prisoner and you did nothing to save her?” Britt is stunned by Jason’s response.
Coming up, official General Hospital spoilers share that on the upcoming Monday, September 14 episode, Jason confides in Carly (Laura Wright), while Britt is stung. In the video preview that aired at the end of the Friday, September 11 episode for this coming Monday, Britt says to Jason, “You don’t believe me. Do you?”
General Hospital head scribes, Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte previously teased in their fall preview of the soap, “Britt and Jason have come a long way and fought a lot of enemies to be together. But the most stubborn obstacle to their happiness isn’t without, it’s within. Decisions Britt made to stay alive while under Cullum’s thumb will come back to haunt her and may prove too difficult for this unlikely couple to survive.”
