ABC’s General Hospital plans to turn up your temps this summer and this all new promo gives you a glimpse of whats in store in the name of fun, romance, and drama!

Could it be Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) attraction to each other might be back in full-swing? And Detective Sexy Pants (Ryan Paevey) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) give each other longing looks, while later in the teaser clip Maxie says, “I’m getting married!”  Hmmm.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) gets the best of Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) during Dodgeball, Julexis (Nancy Lee Grahn and William deVry) is ripping each others clothes off, Michael (Chad Duell) and Kiki (Kristen Alderson) hit the sheets, Sonny and Julian laughing? Patrick (Jason Thompson) takes a shower…  and lookey who?  Robin (Kimberly McCullough) is back too!

Watch the GH summer promo after the jump and then let us know what you are looking forward to as the months heat up?

well,
The only thing I am most looking forward to is; to kill Robin, dead!

just kill her and have over with the stupid crap, please..

ORRRR…..su0000000….we could all have a stomp su000’s KEYBOARD…now there’s a summer party i’d attend (: LMAO

LOL

and more

LOL

funny

I count on SuOOOOOO cutting edge off the cuff : his marquee

Please go take your meds, You sound bitter. Lol. Gh will not kill off Robin. Rumors are Kim is coming back again to gh in the fall. So lets enjoy robin this summer.

The character was never my favorite; but, now that she left her family to “unfreeze” Jason she is even more unlikable to me. Just a dumb storyline. Really dumb. I love Patrick. He deserves better. Love little Emma Scorpio Drake.

Su0000 you need to be locked up, with Heather Webber at ferncliff. Lol

oh dear

NOW THAT’S FUNNY…RFLMAO

Awww geez you guys!! I feel the luv..
Com’er, a big group a {{{{{{{{ HUG }}}}}}}

luvz you guys to pieces .. ahahaa 😉

Even Heather Webber wouldn’t deserve such a loony roommate!

Su00Y you talk about Robin as if she were Chuckie from Child Play.

As time goes on, I’m convinced that Levi is actually Chuckie ….especially when he breaks into that sinister smile of his! But the resemblance is not purely physical…..there is something truly diabolical about that touchy-feely “Occupy PC” whack-tivist twerp and his scheming ways…not to mention that his yoga pants are an absolute fashion crime against humanity!!!!! P.S. Bruce Jenner called and he wants Mr. Dunkleman to return his signature coiffure.

Its about time Patrick took a shower…lol…Micheal and Kiki hit the sheets?…i’ll have to remeber not to be eating during that episode…lol…Robins back…if i blink will i miss her…lol

Are Sonny and Julian laughing before or after Alexis and Julian rip each other clothes off or is it because Julian and Sonny are secret lovers…lol…Why is Liz and Britt playing dodge ball…is Dr.O their coach…lol…tried editing but i omitted this…lol

Looks like Elizabeth and Britt are helping with Lila’s camp. Love that Liz hits her, but not the best example in front of the kids.

Also, did that scene in the park with Shaun and Jordan…where they are jogging before they litterly bump into each other remind anyone else beside me of the Bionic Man and Bionic Woman…lol

I’m cracking up. I just posted something similar regarding Michael and Kiki. They are beyond boring. She needs acting lessons. That would be funny-Dr. O being the coach of Dodgeball! I love Dr. O! She brings such humor to Port Charles! She’s a very talented actress!

Blink and you miss Robin, I agree. Not worth having her on.

Anna and Jordan still meeting openily in the park where they can easily be seen and overheared discussing the mob…let me take that silliness a step further…in this scene let them use the ‘cone of silence’ from the old Get Smart series and have it work the same dumb way…as Jordan is telling the secrets of Julian to Anna, Anna cant hear her but people outside the dome can including Julian…lets go all the way with this absurd silly moment…lol

I agree about Anna meeting Jordan in the past for a secret conversation. Unbelievable. Dumb.

Agree. Dumb and dumber. I don’t know jimh…let’s go full Get Smart and have Anna talk into her shoe.

Once was bad enough…..twice is simply unforgiveable!!!! It’s really gotten unbearable watching this dumbed-down Anna Devane!!!!

Jim…Re Robin…All the reason to blink.

What I want to know is why show Patrick taking a shower unless there is a love interest showing up? As much as I love Scrubs, I don’t see Patrick and Robin in the shower together. I would love to be wrong though.

Best thing is Robin is back even for a short visit for now. Kimberly looks beautiful and love her hair. Hopefully we get the real Patrick back and he wakes up and goes to help his wife Robin. Miss Scrubs together. They are best together. Kimberly and JT are magic on screen. Maybe they could kill off all the newbies from the past two years and give us GH back too.

I’m so happy a Robin will be back! I haven’t watched since she left. I will tune in for as long as she’s back for!

look at how similar Robin and Maxie look

those smokey eye lids with brow… reminds me of mom Anna

if they move Dr. Patrick Drake ON… I’ll give cause to celebrate.

thank you Kimberly McCullough for giving your all to GH

I sincerely hope… it’s not to usher in Billy Miller… as Jason

you know… when I recall the last days of Billy Miller and Michael Muhney… on Y&R

I’m reminded that they were the current day … Robert Redford and Paul Newman “Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid”

just saying… going with it

you need to give him good acting partners… quality cohorts… in an around …

he’s better off playing…. Matt… Dr. Patrick Drake’ brother

to dalliance with Britt, Nina, Patrick, Liz, Maxie… Dr. O. and the like

if it’s true… to saddle him with Sonnys lot… would bore him….
Sonny, Carly, Morgan, Sean, Michael, Kiki, Olivia, Franco… heck… there would be no connection enough with Ava and Julian. the truly only interesting one’s in this part of GH… is Morgan, Ava, and Julian

I just do not see it working

At some point, I think Patrick will be paired with Sam. Honestly, I’ve had my plenty of the Sam-Monotone. Way too much air-time. It’s Summer, wardrobe needs to take Sam out of the dark clothes and dark Winter boots.

I don’t care if Ron turns General Hospital into his own adaptation of Planet of the Apes. I love everything he does. People are looking for the real General Hospital but they are going to end up pounding the sand screaming with anguish,”It’s been here all along!”
If you don’t like GH, I say change the channel after you get your damn dirty paws off of me you damn dirty apes!

Haha – I love it. Agree with you 100% Suey. I love Ron’s writing – most consistently entertaining soap I have ever watched since he took over.

Well said! I love the show and don’t understand why the haters keep watching. It’s very passive-aggressive. Commit or move on!!

Well, there is already a lot of monkeying around on the show…lol

So glad to see Robin!!! True GH history. Can’t wait until she comes back with Jason. Love love kmc s be hairdo! She looks beautiful.

Can’t really get excited to have Kimberly back. AGAIN.

Just recast the character already. Even if they divorce before she leaves again, she is yet again abandoning her daughter. She knows what that feels like and how it has affected her life and yet she’s willing to do the same to her child.

Because of the yo yo returning and leaving of the actress the character is being decimated.

Looks crap. This is supposed to be a daytime DRAMA, not some kind of summertime happy hour.

I love most things mentioned in the summer sizzler teasers for General Hospital. Love Alexis. Love Julian. I think Carly and Sonny are much more interesting than Carly and Franco. Please, oh please, stop shoving annoying Kiki and boring Michael down our throats. There is nothing hot or steamy about this couple. She could use acting lessons and he could use a really hot girlfriend, now that he is CEO of ELQ. Kristen Alderson can not maintain a pivotal storyline. I cringe when she is on-air. She’s just put into random scenes because she can’t carry an interesting storyline.

I love Alexis too. I love that she acts like a randy teenager and is constantly taking out her girls to play. Never grow up, Alexis! Keep cracking that horizontal smile below your chin. Let Molly be the adult in this relationship.
You can have the Justin Bieber posters in your bedroom while Mollie reads her law books.

LMAO!!!!! I really have to wonder if there is a substantial demographic of pre-pubescent boys watching GH in order to justify the cleavage centric nature of the show. It’s bad enough that some of the younger females seem to constantly be unleashing their considerable assets (Hello, Sam!…) but I am completely flummoxed as to whom would be interested in seeing Alexis’s omnipresent exhibitionism of her decrepit décolletage….that woman obviously needs an intervention…and quickly!!!!!

Please, please do not let Maxie marry anyone but Det. West. That bafoon she calls a boyfriend needs to have a fatal accident leaving Maxie distraught and the hunky Detective swooping in for the comforting….ooolala.

The continued swinging door of Robin’s IN and OUT is tedious; either commit to the show, recast or stay gone. It’s not fair to audiences to continue dangling the character in our faces every few months or so. As for the rest of the promo, it looks alright. Not the most exciting; CBS’ summer promo gave me more.

I love Robin, Scott. I have loved her since her little seven year old self appeared in Robert Scorpio’s penthouse back when he was married to Holly. She was just an adorable little girl–the Jodie Foster of daytime drama. I mourned with her when Stone died, and later when she discovered she was HIV positive.
We watched this little girl with her missing front teeth grow into a beautiful, accomplished medical professional and rooted for her to let down her guard and let the arrogant Dr McDreamy into her heart. Her vulnerability and defense mechanism was so high that it was palpable–the viewers could see it for themselves without being told.
Having said that, I hear you. I don’t want her back unless she is going to stay put.
When she departs again they have to write some out of character, plot based story to connect the dots as to why she is once again leaving the family she fought so hard to get back to. Kimberly, I love ya but please do not come back if you’re not staying.

I agree with some others, Maxie’s Aussie bf needs to go, he’s just annoying. Anyway, Maxie and Nathan have major chemistry.

I think Nathan could have chemistry with a door knob. Not too keen on it being with Maxie; but, I’ll take that pairing over anything with annoying, useless Levi!

Regarding the temporary return of Dr. Robin Scorpio-Drake: If you remember how Robin grew up it is easy to see that she just does not know how to stick around for the long term. I do think, for Emma’s sake, Robin and Patrick need to divorce so he can get on with his life, but not with the sparkling pony, Nurse Santiago. Why not give him a shot at the no-longer-crazier-than-Heather Webber Nina Clay. Or bring him into Ava Jerome’s sphere and see what happens. Ava has to have a miscarriage soon so Maurice Bernard can take his promised 6 months off. Here’s another hint to the writers: there is more heat between Patrick and Carly than there is between Patrick and Sam.

Kelly T. and Brian Craig are an item off screen, so let them be an item on screen too. Maybe they can bring the heat. There is no heat between the actors (Kelly and Tyler) or the characters (Britt and Nic) as anyone with any sense can see. Get Britt over to the brownstone and let her see Morgan without a shirt.

Love how TG who is male is allowed to flit in and out, but God forbid a woman be given the same opportunity. This woman grew up on this soap and has remained loyal to the show her entire life.

Don’t blame her for the sucky writing being thrown at them. There was plenty of good story available. They chose to trash her instead to prop their invention. I am sick to death of people complaining about her coming and going. There was no reason to even ask her back the last time, but poor poor pitiful Sabrina once again needed to be propped on Robin’s back.

It is still a man’s world no matter how much everyone screams to differ! We lost Genie Francis because JFP would not give her the same deal as TG.

@Babs…oh please. Enough with the “conspiracy” theories regarding “Robin” and “Sabrina.” This has been discussed ad nauseum. Kimberly left. The were originally going to kill her off but they didn’t…leaving the door open. She was able to come back which they’d hoped would boost ratings. She’s off directing…and when she has free time and wants to return to a comfortable, familiar place and steady paycheck…she returns. She’s not there to prop up anyone…

I’ll bet you a kangaroo steak that Maxie and Levi will get married to keep him in the country. Yeah, I hate him, too but that’s the point. Levis is the obstacle that Nathan and Maxie will overcome. Maxie always makes colossal blunders in love so this is right in character.

Maxi does marry Levi…and its just to delay the obvious pairing of Nathan and Maxi…

Delay? They haven’t even kissed yet. I don’t get the constant insistence that everything be wholly original, surprising, unpredictable and immediate. That’s not how life is, that’s not how good soap opera is. As Bill Bell said (and I’m paraphrasing) “Make them wait.” If you give me everything today, why watch tomorrow?

I agree with some of the comments about the couplings ; my thoughts : Michael and Kiki ; Maxie and Nathan; Julian and Alexis have profound chemistry ; especially, Maxie and Nathan and Alexis and Julian.
There’s nothing with Silas and Sam; Molly and TJ , Carly and Franco, nor Britt and Nick. However, I will say that the writing is good; plus, I know that everyone will never be satisfied by the direction his/her favorite character is headed.

Funny how people don’t feel/see the same thing. I think Silas and Sam have great chemistry….ditto Molly and Tj. Loved the two of them together singing at the nurses’s ball. I think they’re adorable together. Also like Britt and Nick. I think Carly and Franco COULD have chemistry if they make Franco less an idiot…which they may be doing. The last few episodes he’s actually had less idiotic/juvenile dialogue…interested to see if they “mature” him. If that’s the case he could be a great partner for Carly.

THAT is the understatement of the year, rebecca1!!!!! We all seem to see things so very differently! But I do agree with you about Sam and Silas….their connection may be a laid-back one, but it is definitely there! I also see a great chemistry with Britt and Nick, but not so much the Molly/TJ thing….she should have been with that poor little lost boy Rafe, whose death was really unnecessary. Quite frankly, I think the whole drugs and killer- driver theme should have been put upon TJ’s character instead….as his mama has a hand in the narcotics storyline and all, I think it would have played far better, and he really isn’t that necessary to the show anyway. Rafe being a member of an established Port Charles family truly deserved far better than the slim pickings he was dealt. Have never liked Carly with Franco either…she is simply too overbearing for anyone….but Sonny.

Hey Shay. I’m pretty pissed they killed Rafe. He had so much potential to be a great character. Vulnerable, lost boy…finding himself. Roots with Silas and the “vampire”…close to Sam and Danny…his friendship with Molly. His ever-evolving confidence…or perhaps his continued vulnerability. Like AJ…he never got a break…and died without anyone knowing what really happened…

Oh…but I like TJ. I see how that could have played out and you’re right. Would have tied in well. But I don’t think that would have made me any happier than killing off Rafe. What I CAN see having happened…along what you were saying, is if TJ had been the one driving that night. He lives, but still could have been a great catalyst to get his mom getting in deeper to infiltrate the mob.

@rebecca1….Yes, Rafe’s tragic death was much like AJ’s demise revisited….quite unoriginal and unnecessary! I simply cannot abide all these characters with true ties to the tapestry of GH being cast off like yesterday’s garbage, and replaced with some of the lamest and most unlikeable newbies imaginable. However, in terms of TJ, I’ve never seen a purpose to that kid from the very beginning. He totally cramped Shawn’s style…making his role as a hash-slinging, anti-hero hitman/foster father wrong on so many levels….Sean Blackmore should have had a far more virtuous, leading man type of persona, like a cop (ala Abe Carver or Ed Hall) or even a doctor, perhaps as a brother or cousin to Epiphany. His talent to me has always seemed so wasted in the capacity in which he has been used….like as a toyboy to the pathetically insatiable Alexis, babysitter/enforcer to Sonny and now as a sparring partner with that unpleasant, disagreeable Jordan. Of course, that’s all water under the bridge now, but I think killing off TJ could have freed up Shawn for the future, and maybe given a plausible reason to send Jordan away for good as soon as this drug dealing plot is wrapped up. You know who I’d love to see him paired with? Laura’s BFF from the ’80’s, Claudia, portrayed by the lovely Bianca Ferguson. She was married to Brian on the show, but the actor who played him has passed away, so perhaps she could return as a grieving widow, although sadly, this storyline would also echo Ferguson’s real-life as she recently lost her husband, the magnificent Meshach Taylor from “Designing Women.” (Loved his Anthony Bouvier!!!!) But I digress….I’ve simply never been a TJ fan…found him to be whole lot of nothing, particularly with Molly and then with that icky, temporary Taylor fling. Once Rafe came along, he should have been paired with Miss Lansing as they were so obviously well-suited to one another, plus I hated the way they made that poor boy twist in the wind for the past year or so (with very little to do but look stupid and unwanted) then ultimately meet a most inglorious ending to boot. P.S. I’d be cool with a vampire resurrection for Rafe courtesy of Daddy Caleb, but I doubt that is going to happen!!!!!

The promo looks good. I’m enjoying GH overall.

Trying to think about what I like about GH…well I like Ava being a thorn in Sonny’s side but they should add more humor to it. The list of what I don’t like is way too long and what’s the point anyway? Things won’t change. I dvr the show and ff through what I dont like. Such is life.

mmm… some teasers make you worry… I don’t want another Sonny / Carly pairing. He needs to go back to Olivia, Carly needs to go her own way.

And Maxie obviously hasn’t changed…. doing the wrong thing for the wrong reason, thinking she is helping (tentatively marrying Levi to keep him in the country) barf! I figure that Levi is setting another trap for the Det. West… don’t tell my secret, but I’ll tell everyone later that you knew and didn’t tell anyone.

I know it’s General Hospital, but enough already of so many gunshot wounds, head and brain traumas, kids and babies dying, comas until the writers want to awaken the character, transplants, and of course, the right of passage for many characters…the overused car accident…on what looks like the same stretch of road. And now Kimberly dropping in for a few days again. Even if she was staying don’t like what they have done with Robin’s character.

When is the new theme going to debut?

Enough already with the overgrown Herman’s Hermit – please send him away – Maxie can’t be that stupid. He’s a looser – where is his job? What has he got to offer? I think he not only turned Maxie into the judge but I believe he placed the anonymous call to immigration on himself. Since they all live together he obviously has opportunities to use his roommates cell phones. PLEASE don’t start with the Sonny – Carly romance again. Wake up Maxie.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

on

By

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.
