General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: What Did You Think Of The Judge's Ruling On The Custody Of Baby Connie?

Courtesy/ABC
On yesterday’s episode, General Hospital blew the custody of baby Connie storyline wide open when the judge handed down his decision. And no one came out the victor except Spinelli, who got some vindication, in a way!
First, the judge ruled against giving custody of Baby Connie to Dante and Lulu! Can Lante’s marriage survive, after Dante admitted Lulu lied under oath during the custody hearing? And now them losing Baby Connie? Add all that to the fact at the end of the episode, in heartbreaking scenes played beautifully by Dominic Zamprogna (Danyte) and Emme Rylan (Lulu), Lulu was trying to run away with the baby until Dante stopped her in front of Tracy and Olivia?
Meanwhile back inside the courtroom, the judge reveals that he sees Maxie (Kirsten Storms) as an unfit for mother because Maxie perpetrated a fraud on Dante and Lulu and that the unknowing couple paid for all of Maxie’s medical expenses! And she kept Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) in the dark too!
So in the end, the judge awards full custody to the bio-father Damian Spinelli and gives a stern and direct order to Maxie! She is not to go anywhere near little Connie for the next six months! She has no visitation rights, either! After six months if all goes well, he will revisit the custody of the child with Spinelli and Maxie! Maxie is outraged! Spinelli is happy he will finally have a chance to raise his little girl, though the cost to those he cares about may be too great in the end! Time will tell!
So, what did you think about the judges ruling on the custody of Baby Connie? Do you agree with his decision? Were you surprised by the twist in the ruling? What did you think about the performances of Dominic and Emme and Kirsten and Bradford? Comment below!
Since I saw this coming for sure, the ruling was not a surprise to me. A couple of weeks back, they said it would be a surprising outcome, at that point, Spinelli getting full custody was the only option I thought it could be. Also, his re-connecting with Ellie, further made me feel that this is the way the story would go, because he will need someone to help him with the baby. I think this will add a new dimension to this storyline for sure, but kind of sad that neither the child’s biological mother or the only mother/father she has known thus far, can even see her. I will enjoy watching Spinelli in his new role as “Dad”, as he also sadly contends with keeping the child away from the other three “parents” who also love her. Kudos to all the actors involved, the performances were great!
Loved the performances too. I’m also looking forward to the new angle of this story of Spinelli trying to keep Maxie away and what it will do to his relationship with Ellie. Gotta wonder who will be taking care of Connie while Spinelli works … oh wait, does Spinelli work? 😉
LOL, true – how often do we see Spinelli working? The “occasional” private eye, will most likely have Ellie helping with the baby, which will add yet another dimension to this story, as that will,of course, upset Maxie. I am sure that is the reason why they reunited Spinelli and Ellie again.
yep! well, I want Maxie and Spinelli together so I’m hoping this story gets Ellie out of the picture. I’m looking forward to more airtime hopefully for this couple! Haha… when was the last private eye assignment? And speaking of which, when has Sam last worked? 😉 only on soaps.
GOOID THING HE IS ACTING…NOT REALISTIC!!!!
I want to know what Maxie did that was so bad to The baby that she is not aloud to see the kid. This ruling makes no sense since Dante and Lulu have had the baby the whole time so far. I’m glad Dante and Lulu lost the baby also. I hope Lulu pays also for lying to the court.
I hate it. What does that have to do with her being a mother. I hate general hospital now. How could you take the baby from the real mother. ..m
THAT WAS WAY TO HARSH MAXIE TRUELY MEANS TO DO WELL HER HEART WAS TO DO THE RIGHT THING SHE TRUELY LOVED LULU. MAXIE REALIZED SHE MADE A BAD MISTAKE BUT TO TAKE HER BABY FROM HER IS TOTALLY WRONG I WANT SPANELLI AND MAXIE TOGEATHER AGAIN AND FOR THEM TO FALL BACK IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER . ELLI STEP ASIDE BECAUSE SPANELLI AND MAXIE BELONG TOGEATHER AS HUSBAND AND WIFE
Maybe this decision will bring Spinelli and Lulu closer…she may help him with his new job of being a dad….But I think it is definitely overkill that Maxie can’t even see the baby.
No way we don’t want Spin and Lulu, Maxie and Spin all the way , the only way is because Maxie will be leaving to go have her real life baby so congratulation to her
I thought it was way too harsh! I think Maxie should have gotten visitation rights at least, it is punishing the baby to not let her bond at all with her mom for six months. Of course, I realize having to write in KS’s maternity leave is probably part of the reason for this verdict.
Greta, I’m glad someone else realizes that Kirsten’s maternity leave needs to be explained. This will give her an out.
ditto: on Kirsten Storms – to finish the rest of her pregnancy… and maternity.
that being said… I thought it worked better this way.. as I thought the “trial” of Lulu and Maxie… ie: best friends… bashing each other’ character “in court”
just didn’t ring true…. and… the sparring, acting wit, and fighting for… that child.. just didn’t ring true for me. I don’t know what to say… ie: about the actors… it crosses my mind.. that Emme Rylan… should go back to Y&R and be an Abbott… as Y&R is NOW Seriously lacking Abbotts.
as for Spinelli and Ellie: I’m happy about this… bonding and renewing their love for each other… we’re going to be treated to a whole new dimension and layers of: Spinelli and Ellie.
i’ve always liked this couple
The “trial” was just a plot point excuse for RC to pen some poorly thought out “dramatics” and in the grand scheme of things was totally unecessary,… except to completely shred anything that was left of L and Maxie’s friendship.
Nothing about it “rang true” and that’s not only sad but in some ways insulting to the partnership that had been built by KSt and JMB.
You’re right. The recast should go back to Y&R. The L I loved and cherished (along with the pairing that is Lante), is no longer recognizable in the hands of this headwriter and the actress that FV hand picked. Woefully miscast….
Ellie and Spinelli? Totally quirky and adorable. But with BA going recuring, I don’t know what that does for their story. I could see them exiting the canvas except for offhand mentions and a reappearance when KSt comes back from matermity leave….
I didn’t see this coming. I thought there would be a joint custody ruling. As far as performances, the men won hands down. Maxie was her usual whining self and Lulu, well, all I could think of was how Julie Berman would have played it. And I’ve got to say, only in Port Charles would the whole crew not been thrown in jail for contempt. You just don’t interrupt a Judge in his ruling. But, like I said, this is Pt Charles, which seems to exist by its own rules.
Port Charles is in Soap Land, a magical fantasy town, not of the real world..
And i love it!!!
So do I. I love Soap Land, most of the times. I now, just watch and enjoy as long as F & R are in charge.
Throughout the birth and custody, I thought that three of the actors involved were outstanding — BA (Spin), DZ(Dante), and KS (Maxie. They were able to show so many emotions through dialogue, looks, and facial expressions. However, I felt nothing for Lulu…she came across as a one dimensional hot head. In addition, the writing for this story from the very start was quite flawed. I do not even know if this child is really the bio child of Spixie. No DNA testing?? Dr. Westborn should have been called into court too. Too many skipped story pieces in this but instead, I have been treated to a never ending white washing of Franco…go figure.
I think Baby Connie is definitely Spixie’s child, and Brit’s baby will be the bio child of Dante and Lulu, which will come to light just as they are parting ways, due to this Baby Connie courtroom drama.
It was lackluster… right? this is how the big story ends? Maxie and Lulu will be backburnered…. Dante back to the police force…
and… considering… how much air time… with him not being on contract… Spinelli… w/Ellie and the baby…
I don’t see this going anywhere… till Maxie…. in 6 months time.. will be back…
will we care?
a shame.. indeed….
I hope people also agree… that the other storyline that isn’t going anywhere.. is Sonny and his sons… with Carly, kiki, and Olivia… what a shame… and GH was so remiss and lost it’s foothold and foundation these characters attained… now.. another troupe of characters is faltering… big time… without Kelly Sullivan.
now.. we’re left with the Scorpios… sans… gone… Tristan Rogers’.
how much longer do we have .. Dr. O and Faison… to distract…
———-
THEE Kiss… and romance between Britt and Nicholas… floored me… LOL… i’m looking forward to this……
and the re-union between Robin and Patrick
so heres two pluses….
and, if i’m not alone here… I kinda like how Carlos is steering his GH
for GH sake…. I hope the AJ storyline… elevates
it was a treat to see Mac and Felicia at the trial proceedings
Now it’s hurry up and wait… if Franco and Scotty hit it off
Well after my rant yesterday I have one positive thing to say I saw Liz’s new hair cut today can that young woman get anymore lovely. Gosh get her back front and center! Please and I might forgive you RC just a little bit!
and, you hit it on the nail.
how, more, staggering’ly interesting could Rebecca Herbst be? on top of the echelon.. as it were… for intrigue’ing
I’m glued to the Britt – Nicholas – and the resurgence of any’thing will do to glimpse and ride the rest of Liz.
it’s top draw when this wave, collects, catches fire…
Liz entreats herself to Nicholas… and Britt reals
I watch from afar the power of Nicholas, and wonder
The “off” notes (besides so much of the trial particulars from the legal end of things), were provided by the recast in the role of L. While she may be a perfectly lovely person off set in her real life, she is woefully miscast and from an acting perspective is merely serviceable in terms of the talent and range needed to play what should be a pivotal character in the Spencer-Falconeri wing of the GH canvas. While a fair amount of “layers” weren’t needed for the custody resolution yesterday, the rest of her work pales in comparison to Mr. Zamprogna, Mr. Anderson, and Miss Storms who have been “carrying” her with them. I will always have in mind the “dream reveal” that Miss Berman and Miss Storms had together as the touchstone for what this story could/would/should have been had FV and RC been inclined to select L’s replacement with more care and concern for the character and who she is. as of right now, all three actress, executive producer and headwriter have no clue who she is and have elected to ignore what she was and what she was built to. Now she’s been trashed and rendered no more than a “interchangeble part”/plot point as are many in the cast. This is how RC writes. It’s never about character driven stories/relationships. It’s about the next big thing to drive ratings. Yes, ratings are up, but at the cost of losing the heart and soul of what had been quality serial drama. But that’s just me…..
Agreed, Beth. RC has no idea how to write quality drama. He goes for the sweeps stories which usually fall flat. He did it with OLTL with the whole gay storyline with KISH. That could have played out elegantly for years, but suddenly, it was front and center all the time and alienated viewers who don’t share his passion or agenda. He has no idea how to write for women. He however seems to revel in writing for guys with their shirts off.
Just because you don’t like how it turned out there is no need to get bitter and attract RC because you don’t like it ..
RC is the King of drama writing..
No, su, he’s a hack who doesn’t know about character development and writes via plot points. He drops the ball with his stories. I wasn’t even following this storyline. He ran OLTL into the ground.
Well I like that ruling- both women were acting like brats– a child isn’t possession and the two of them should have worked out some type of an arrangement– but where would the drama be if they did that. Also the actress playing Maxine is pregnant in real life and will most likely go on maternity leave, so this six month period might give the writers a way to write Maxie out for a short while while KS is having her baby in real life. In the meanwhile it is time Britt fesses up about Ben- I am thinking around Christmas might be a nice time for that reveal to come out. I can see Christmas morning Lulu and Dante getting the news that Ben is really theirs– what wonderful present that would be.
Absolutely retarded! Yes Maxie made many mistakes in her time…………. but 6 months that she can’t see her beautiful baby girl? That baby must be Italian! She’s soooo cute! Cheers!
O yes the baby playing Connie is adorable. I know babies cannot act but sometimes the expression on her face fits the dialogue perfectly, one would swear that kid knows her cues.
the one that really has me…
Daniel Edward.
Man has he grown…
SO alert- SO aware of his surroundings – So good in front of the camera – SO well behaved….
and just so loveable
Not sure……………. but I kinda have the feeling Brit’s baby is Lulu’s and Dante’s! If so when will this come out?
Of course Connie is Lulu;s and Dante’s, no doubts ..
funny how nobody noticed there is zero Asian in the baby lol
I think you meant Ben is Dante/Lulu’s?
I heard the reveal will be during February sweeps.
But with RC shock factors these day, one never knows.
Even some drug addict mothers in real life get to have supervised visitation. Maxie certainly deserved that much!
First of all this would never have went to court second you are right about the drug addict mothers. In what universe would you award a unemployed bio-father rights? Stupid RC I am so sick of him I could scream! As far as I am concerned he can take Franco,Kiki,Silas,Ava,Julian,Britt,Felix,Brad and shove them up his backside. Tony Geary needs to retire he is phoneing it in and I am for one sick of him and his DIVA ways. This is not even remotely the GH I use to watch he makes Guza days look great. This soap is GH not OLTL or any of the others he keeps throwing in. My rant is over!
Every soap viewer needs to have a good rant now and then. In the old days we could only yell at our televisions now we have websites thank goodness. My neighbors no longer have to listen to me screaming alone in my apartment– “Who writes this stuff– or come on I wasn’t born yesterday– or seriously is that the best you can do”— now just a bunch of strangers on the web have to hear it. LOL.
LOL. right on! MarySF
listen to me screaming alone in my apartment– “Who writes this stuff– or come on I wasn’t born yesterday– or seriously is that the best you can do”— now just a bunch of strangers on the web have to hear it. LOL.
this site is perfect for venting, raging, and soapbox’ing
then we move on…
what really smarts the most… is when a character you love… moves on.
oye! hold me… LOL
no kristen
no Will
no Connie
no phyllis
no Katherine
no Billy
no Delia
this site is thee salve and poultice for healing and licking our wounded
LOL
I have no complaints about GH….Tony Geary doesn’t need to retire. I still like him and when he is with Tracy they are a hoot together…GH is different from OLTL and it should be..It’s GH all the way and no comparison to OLTL..Why does everyone say this GH not OLTL??? I watched OLTL for a long time and it was my #1 favorite soap and they are different as night & day…I enjoy watching GH and I am happy I still have a soap to watch.
I loved it all!!!! GH is the best!!!
I agree with you!
I thought it was an awesome twist. Spinelli, ALONE, gets full custody. I feel bad for Lulu and Dante, and even for Maxie, but honestly this is the way I would want it to go. It should lead to a lot more interesting plot lines, as well. For instance, the tension between Ellie and Maxie, not to mention Maxie and Spinelli, and I for one cannot wait for Lulu and Maxie to come face to face now that they are sworn enemies. I’m kind of more invested in other stories, like the Robin situation and the Connie Falconari Murder Trial. I haven’t seen Rafe or Molly in months, it feels like!
I miss seeing Rafe and Molly! Great storyline potential there and it was missed because of TJ (who is this kid again? Do we care?)
I thought when Rafe thought he was going to have to leave PC he was going to ask Molly to run away with him, and we’d have been treated to a Summer of the ‘teens on the run’. Like Felicia/Frisco and Luke/Laura adventures?
These two have THAT potential.
This would never happen in real life…Maxie and spanelli are the biology
parents…they should of both got custody. The storyline that Maxie is unfit
is ridiculous. I’m sure this makes a lot of general hospital fans mad. The outcome should have been what they thought viewers might want. It is
just bad writing in my opinion. The writers need to fix this mess.
It is a 6 month judgement..
I think it far to punitive, the judge add best interest of the child in there so his ruling would not get over turn. I think that what is lost in this whole situation is that Maxie had a miscarriage, and she was left deal with that all by herself. The truth of matter Dante and Lulu was too busy with their lives to actually care what was going on with Maxie. Spinelli was too busy with his girlfriend to care about Maxie. I don’t think they even suspected that something was wrong with her. They are suppose to be friends and I believe something was clearly wrong with Maxie they all ignored it because it was convenient for them to act. I think the story was not about Maxie selfness, but how Dante, Lulu, and Spinelli did not care enough about Maxie. I think that judge ruling her the child more than anyone else. He took away two mother from that child life without any consideration how that would effect the child.
Maxie had a miscarriage and dealt with it herself?
If I remember correctly she dealt with it by having sex with Spinelli on the very night she found out that she HAD the miscarriage.
This shows you when Carlivati is a weak writer. It’s not believable. So to write it for a “twist” means nothing, really.
Not what i expected…but i like the twist…might not be what wouldve happened in real life but this is a soap opera that rarely does anything close to real life…plus its all just for entertaing!!!
I’m looking forward to the fallout over Spin and Ellie raising Connie!!
Me too…
Well…its a soap….so reality and law and logic don’t need to play a part but the ruling was absolutely absurd. I have been in court rooms where the judge has threatened to hold someone in contempt for chewing gum. Judges do not stand for blonde basket case drama queens standing up and shouting things like “You can’t do this!”. At any rate…fine…the judge awarded custody to Spinelli. As such, Spinelli can let the child see whoever he wants. Unless the judge impossible d a restraining order against Maxie…he can let her see Connie whenever he wants. This storyline took a weird turnwith the whole court drama. Let’s resolve this before the rooting value for any of these characters goes away. In my thinking…Lulu could go nuts…she is predisposed to questionable mental stability….good story. Maxie only reels me on because Kirsten Storms can play her as the most annoyong superficial flake and then turn on a dime and then break your heart with emotion. Maxie was level headed and quiet and good natured until the show felt the need to replace Robyn Richards with that dreadful Danica whoever, then they realized their error, rehired beloved Robyn, and then hired Kirsten. Kirsten plays what is written for her and she plays it damn well. But for me, a longtime viewer….before Guza and Phelps ret conned everything….Maxie was never a screw up she was never selfish ahe was never impulsive. So…just….get this over with…get Duli’s kid Ben back to them and let’s move on.
Very disappointed… Maxie does not deserve that ruling and I am very sad for Lante. I am one of the biggest SPIXIE fans and I want them to get their baby and at a minimum live in the same place as co-parents… if we can’t get them back together again. I heard something about Spinelli and Ellie leaving town with the baby and really hope that is not the case. I understand we have to write a story line that gives Kirsten maternity leave but I hope they don’t send her to Shadybrook… please no! So very sad…
Well the show is better!!!!
OK the scenes I am glad Spin got custody, but poor Maxie
But the positive side Spin gets/the chance to see Danny and Sam and Silas
RC would write it!!!!
ooh! you’re right…
it might be cute and fun to see Dad Spinelli… sharing his parentage with Sam and Daniel Edward….
Spin and Ellie will be great parents!
Both, Lulu and Maxie are nut cases!!
and neither should be given custody of any child..
Spin and Ellie will be awesome parents!!
Ellie is a bizarre girl but I like her. I am waiting for the day when they delve onto her backstory. I hope she is a Quartermaine via Jimmy Lee Holt. Tracy is mean mean mean
I wish Laura was there for her daughter but that would mean the show would have to actually use Genie Francis. They have proven for months that they do not like writing for her. My birthday is on the same day as Grey Cup! Liesl Obrecht is very irrational but hilarious. She reminds me of that raunchy German chick from Austin Powers. Carrrrlos is greasy and unnecessary, just like Sonny. Why didnt Diane go into how sonny hung AJ on a meathook…forced him to sign away parental rights? Milo could pick up the pieces for Sabrina when Robin returns. They make a dim witted and charming couple. It boggles and blows my mind that this show can write a story for two of the most pointless useless characters EVER…Brad and Felix….and yet can’t craft a decent story for beloved veterans. Oh and speaking of misogynistic violence…did we REALLY need to see a son nearly strangling his mother???? That was dark and gross. And…can someone shut Olivia up?? Please? Liz’s new haircut looks good.
You have certainly hit the rest of the show on the head. I am hoping that Franco’s cured this means he is not and will take carley out next.
Franco was pretending with Heather to scare her..
He acted like that to scare her away, he was pretending it was more than obvious..
The old Franco is gone; dead in a jar ..
Please I want watch again. Take the child away from her mother. Wrong story line.
its a soap you didnt expect anything that resembles happy ever after, soaps are not about happy ever after lol
this is a great drama soap story!!!!
and! its never been done before and that is indeed a rare story 🙂
What Maxie did was horrible..
She needs to get herself together and atone for her deeds .
The judge gave her 6 months to do so..
It is 6 months, people, not forever,, sheesuz!
Nice twist. Now maybe Lulu will leave Dumbte since he left her high and dry. They will split up but eventually find each other again when they find out Ben is theirs.
I think the baby should be with her mother(Maxi). But these are made up stories not reality..In the real world the mother would get the baby…Maybe things will change and Maxi will get Connie in less than 6 months. Anything is possible on the soaps…
i hope maxie gets her baby to because connie needs her mother
i think it was unfair to maxie she deserves to have her child in her life , even though she mad some mistakes thats still her child , connie needs her mother and thats maxie
What Maxie did she did out of love. Love for her friend Lulu who was devastated she couldn’t carry a child, or even adopt. *Lulus fault not Maxie’s *She didn’t do anything to lose the first baby, or sleep with Spin to deceive the others. She carried to baby with all the intentions of just giving it up to them. Then her hormones kicked in and she loved her daughter. So she is *THE EVUL* ????I know she is going on Real maternity leave. Everyone thinks Maxie is a ditz ?Spinelli is even worse. He lives in his office, no daily job or paycheck ,no home no skills with a new baby, No furniture etc. The fact that this even went to court made everyone but Spin look bad. Spin the one who set Dante up to be killed for being an undercover cop??And worked for the mob?” He is sooo much better . Not .Best to Kristin hope she has a healthy ,happy baby. She has had a lot of trouble physically so best to her. I just hope Brit ‘s son is not Lulus, and that Lulu is pregnant on her own. Just if she is, please no more who’s the daddy. been there done that. enough. At least Connie is not related to Scummy or Luke. That’s a good thing.
i personally believe that they could have come up with another storyline as to why Maxie was off the canvas (we all know why she’ll be off), but they could have written it that the whole thing with losing lulu’s baby and becoming pregnant with her own and letting lulu take her daugther and then going to court and all the stress and anguish it caused her, that she was taking connie and going on a vacation to heal, with spinelli coming to visit when he could rather than the decision that was made…while i agree maxie didnt handle things in the right manner, she did it with all the goodness inside of her..she’s not mean spirited or trying to hurt anyone..if she let lulu have connie like she intended, the only one hurt would be her, for she was supposed to be the only one who knew that the baby was hers and spinelli…Sorry for me it was a ridiculous way to solve the problem..Maxie really didnt do anything, not did Alexis prove, that Maxie was an unfit mother…
it’s a soap.. if it played as you wanted it to, it would dull and boring lol ..
Spinelli did show alot of compassion towards all the others and clearly loved his daughter. Thought that denying Maxie any visitation with the baby over 6 months was especially harsh and would not happen real life. Even if there was a concern, she would have gotten supervised visits. The other extremely unrealistic part of this was the decision with Lulu. She was proven to be a possible flight risk and perjured herself about that fact…..so why was she not restricted as to going near the baby?? It was her lunacy that caused this whole custody mess to begin with. This attitude that she can just skewer Maxie over and over again is unacceptable. The acting of Maxie, Spinelli and Dante has been good and effective. Personally, I think the Lulu character had too much air time during this story.
I love that Spinelli will get more airtime and that Lulu and Dante get to be on the rocks. They’re both such great actors; it’ll be fun to see them go through rocky times romantically. This also gives the actress who plays Maxie time for maternity leave to have her own IRL baby (with ex-badboy Johnny Zacarra). Well written!
I stand behind the judges decision. It however was fairly predictable!
Yes it was
The Judge’s ruling made no sense. Even if the Judge wanted to grant primary custodial rights to Spinelli, it is highly unlikely ANY judge would prevent the birth mother from visiting the child for six months. At the very least, he would have ordered supervised visitation. I don’t mind suspending belief or reality when it comes to soap operas, but this ruling strains any credibility. The facts of this custody dispute just didn’t warrant the Judge’s ruling. Huge Eye Roll.
The Ellie/Spinelli pairing is too boring. They both can’t be wet noodles! I love Spinelli, but he needs someone with a backbone to offset his carpet-like demeanor. And Ellie needs someone with some spice; someone who challenges her, excites her. The Ellie/Spinelli pairing feels more like a sister/brother bond than actual lovers.
I agree
Spin and Georgy priceless!!
Sam and Silas look good in the previews for tomorrow.
Hope it leads to them being physical!!!
I think it was fair. She lied to everybody. Why reward liars
Don’t think she will stop wedding. Perhaps she should hook up with Maxxie@
I totally agree with the ruling since Spinelli was not involved in the lie and was lied to. He also tried to speak compassionately of both Maxie and Lulu. The thing that I do have a problem with though is the judge’s ruling that Maxie must stay away from the baby. I would think that the judge would leave that decision up to Spinelli. Spinelli stood up in court during the ruling and mentioned visitation for Maxie. I just thought judge would not go against Spinelli’s decision on this. I realize KS is going on maternity leave but I still think they could have handled it differently.
Maxie and Spinelli’s baby looks just like him. Is it his baby in real life?
Since, it’s a soap, I guess it’s a ruling with the most dramatic effect. However, I’m not an attorney, but I’m not quite sure how legal that would be in real life, since Maxie is not a danger to the baby.
I think Lulu has been a bitch since she talked Maxi into surrogating. She has been bossy, demanding, accusing and self-serving. Maxi always thinks she is a screw-up and Lulu has taken advantage of that fact. I feel sorry for Maxi, life never lines up in favor of her and she is so willing to take the blame.
I am Glad Damon got Full Custody but I am Not Happy Maxie cannot See her. And I would be sad for Lulu & Dante’ but I can Already tell you That Baby Britt gave Birth to Is REALLY Dante’ & Lulu’s Baby. CAUSE britt already told her Father It was Not his Grandchild Cause it wasn’t Her DNA, So it couldn’t be his. See…….. Britt Implanted Dante’s & Lulu’s Embyro. So They Really Have A Baby……… YEA!!!
Tuat may be true because I watch it with my mom and she said that the baby might be Dante and Lulu’s baby
How will Maxie ever get her baby back if spenille Is gone.

‘General Hospital’s’ Amanda Setton Talks Her Reaction, Scenes, and Co-Stars After Becoming a Daytime Emmy Nominee for the First Time (Exclusive)

When the nominations were announced for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards earlier this week, General Hospital fans were thrilled to see Amanda Setton’s name as one of this year’s Outstanding Supporting Actress nominees.
It marks the first time in her career that she has ever been nominated. Setton has played Brook Lynn Quartermaine since 2019. Soap viewers first saw her in the role of Kimberly Andrews on One Life to Live during her run from 2009-2011.
Amanda received her Daytime Emmy nomination for her emotional turn as Brook Lynn learned she had been lied to by her mother, Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) for years, after giving up her baby for adoption as a teen. Little did she know she had a secret son living with her this whole time at the Quartermaine mansion in Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza).

During an exclusive conversation live on Tuesday night, July 14, during the Michael Fairman Channel’s annual Daytime Emmy Nominations Special, she discussed her reaction to the news, her nominated reel and her GH co-stars.
GOING FOR EMMY GOLD
Setton explained how she found out she was a Emmy nominee! “Frank Valentini called me, our boss. It was such a beautiful moving moment. I’ve known Frank for 20 years and to share this with him, I’m indebted to him on a lot of levels. I was in the car with my husband. We were going for a hike. We got away for just a couple days, just the two of us. It was early in the morning and to share that moment with Frank, to share that moment with my husband, it was the best. We cried and I’m just so grateful.”
The Supporting Actress nominee shared what scenes she submitted: “My reel was obviously about the Gio storyline. It started with the scenes with Lulu (Alexa Havins) and shout out to Alexa! She’s the best. It’s when I first find out that she knows and that I had boy. Then, begging her not to tell Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and just to leave it alone, then into the scenes with Rena Sofer, shout out to her! She is the best. I love her. I spoke to her today. She deserved to also be nominated. They are the scenes right after I find out at the Nurses’ Ball, and right after Brooklyn finds out that Gio is her son, not her cousin. Then my reel ended with the scene with Gio in the kitchen when Brook Lynn’s first sees him after the Nurses’ Ball and she says, ‘We can work this out,’ and he’s like, ‘No, we can’t,” and he walks away. It was an amazing story and kudos to the writers.”

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SCENES
It is always important in the Emmy game to put together a submission, so that someone who doesn’t watch the show day to day, can grasp the story of what’s happening to your character. Setton explained how she went about assembling the choices for her scenes. “Between Michelle Henry (producer, GH) and Frank, they said, ‘You need to tell the story. Find the scenes that tell the story.” Once I did it was clear to all of us, the story has been told,” shared Amanda.
“Anyone who’s watching this reel can get a feel for the intensity of the story. I think after even the first scene where you’re just like, ‘Wait a minute! This girl had a baby? She didn’t know if it was a boy or girl?’ Now this nemesis of her wants to … ‘What’s happening? What’s going on? And then the mom knew the story? ‘ So by the end, your heart’s just broken for this girl.”
Initially, Amanda like the viewers were trying to figure out how GH would make sense of the story, where suddenly years later we find out Brook Lynn got pregnant at summer camp by Dante! Setton said, “Once they (the writers) started building it out and you saw all the different relationships playing out between her and her mother, her and Dante, her and Lulu, her and Gio, her and her husband Chase (Josh Swickard), even Tracy (Jane Elliot), and then the fallout of all of it, it just touched so many characters on the canvas. I think it was like a huge juicy burger for the fans to just take a big bite.”

AMANDA SETTON TALKS ON HER TV SON GIOVANNI MAZZA
In addition to Amanda, both Giovanni Mazza and Braedyn Bruner (Emma) landed their first ever nominations in the Emerging Talent category. Setton shared how she and Mazza have developed such a close bond.
“Gio and I are super close. Right from the start, we just hit it off. He is such a delight. He’s so hardworking. He’s such an eager learner. He’s always looking to be better. He always wants to grow. That’s a huge testament to his work ethic,” explains Amanda. “He’s an amazing person, and over the last couple of years, we’ve had many deep conversations about work, about life, perspective, gratitude, values, a lot of different deep things. I could not be more thrilled for Gio and this moment for him. It is well deserved. He has worked so hard for it. I really hope he wins. Although, I also love Braedyn!”
One of the most unforgettable moments of 2025 in the soaps is when Gio takes to the Nurses’ Ball stage after overhearing Lulu and Lois talk that he is the biological son of Brook Lynn and Dante. Ready to begin to play his violin, he smashes it pieces and storms off. Setton was in the scene and recalls, “That was wild. He did such a great job with that. That is not an easy moment to hit, pun intended. He nailed it.”

THE CONNECTION WITH JANE ELLIOT
On General Hospital, Brook Lynn is close with her ‘Granny,” the one and only Tracy Quartermaine, and in real life Amanda is very close with Jane Elliot, with whom she was able to share the news of her nomination. “First of all, this woman has become one of my closest friends.”
Amanda adds, I’m not exaggerating. I am confident to say she would say the same. We’ve become really close friends outside of work. We speak, almost every day. We just went out to lunch last week. She’s become such a close person in my life over these last few years. She’s such a leader. Jane’s a really special person in my life after my family. I wanted to share the news of this nomination with her and she was over the moon.”
HARD WORK PAID OFF
Getting a pat on the back from her peers is one of the more touching moments in Amanda’s career, as she explains: “I have to say we’re in the daytime world, so for us it feels so wonderful and so rich. But in the landscape of the entertainment industry, in daytime, we’re in the trenches. We work really hard. We have a ton of pages. We have a ton of really high stakes, dramatic work to try to do in a grounded, authentic way, continuously every day on television. Not that it’s thankless, because thank God we are employed actors on a network TV show, and we are also grateful. But, I’m not going to lie, and say it doesn’t feel good to just get a little ‘thank you’ or like a little, ‘I see your work.’ It feels fulfilling.”

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Tells Danny: ‘The Place They Were Holding Me Was Bad, Really Bad’

What happened to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) when he was captivity by the WSB? That is the question on many minds of General Hospital viewers, especially following the airing of the Tuesday, July 14 episode of the ABC daytime drama series, which also received a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series for the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards yesterday.
In story and in the pick-up of Monday’s episode, Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) comes face to face with his father at the Quartermaine boathouse. Jason assures his son that he is home for good. However, Jason is confused why the WSB suddenly released him from Jakarta in the last 48 hours.
Danny goes in on his father for taking the fall for Cullum’s shooting when it was Rocco who shot the now deceased WSB director. Jason tried to explain he had to make a last minute decision and didn’t want Rocco’s life to be ruined by shooting another man.

JASON WANTS TO TAKE A SHORT TRIP WITH DANNY
Jason promised Danny that from now on, he is his top priority, and that time away has given him a new perspective. When Danny tries to get more intel from his dad on what he went through, all Jason would say is, “The place they were holding me was bad, really bad.”
Danny admits that the person he told that Rocco shot Cullum was Port Charles bureau chief, Jack Brennan, but he told him that WSB would want Danny to drop the whole thing, and just leave it be now that Cullum is dead.
TRACY SEES JASON
Suddenly, Tracy (Jane Elliot) shows up and is happy to see that Jason has resurfaced saying she knew he would be back. As she welcomed him home, Jason has a favor to ask her.
Next, he proposes much to Danny’s happiness, that he and his son are going to away together for a few days to catch up on things. So, that there is no issue, Jason asks if Tracy can please tell Alexis that he has returned to Port Charles and anyone else that would need to know, so they are not concerned for Danny’s welfare and that they know he is with his dad. Tracy agrees, and she and Jason share a hug.
Now the question is, what happened to Jason? We know his face is beaten up. We saw in flashbacks he was held in a cell and we can see he had been experiencing what seems like PTSD from being in captivity.
Previously, GH co-head writer, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten previewed to Soap Opera Digest on Jason’s return, “His imprisonment has had a profound effect on his outlook and how he intends to conduct the rest of his life. His decision will have big implications for Danny, Britt, the Quartermaines, Anna and especially Sonny.”
So, what do you think happened to Jason while being held by the WSB? Did something horrific occur? Will Jason tell Sonny he can no longer work for him so he no longer puts himself or his family in any kind of danger? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
