Coming up on General Hospital, after viewers watch the agonizing heartbreak of Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) losing their premature born baby boy Gabriel, the ABC soap is going back to the story point of who could have been the responsible party who ran Patrick and Sabrina off the road that resulted in Sabrina delivery Gabriel early, something that the little baby could never recover from!  In the original list of suspects we had at the top of the list: Fluke (Anthony Geary), Ava (Maura West) and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud).

But now in a new promo,  the series indicates a newly generated list of suspects that includes:  Rafe (Jimmy Deshler) looking extremely guilty when Sam (Kelly Monaco) questions him, Ric (Rick Hearst), Ava (Maura West), Fluke, Silas (Michael Easton) and Julian (William deVry)!

So, who do you think is the culprit that caused the hit and run that as a result took the life of Baby Gabriel? Watch the ABC promo after the jump and then weigh-in!

Levi…he has sinister hidden motives for being in PC, i hope!!! Rafe(Silas and Ninas son?) would be my second guess….then a day player…a drunken nun…lol

I wonder what is triggering Rafe to do drugs? because Molly keeps on rejecting him?

such a sweet cute kid in my book… they really have never had him doing any thing… any ways… so it may as well be either or Rafe and Levi.

both non essential to the canvas… although, I really liked when ALL this started with the three amigos… that at least we were enjoying Silas introduction to uncle/fatherhood/guardianship… with Rafe.. and it’s been by the way side for so long now

Levi… LOL… made me laugh some… when it now seems… like Maxie : “eat, love, & pray” sojourn… never realized… or come to fruition… altho she has some Levi

for his quirks : he’s doing his own layers…and LOL Mac is OVER him…. “Maxie is still my daughter” as Levi had the audacity to tell Mac…. that Maxie has given up her parental rights to Georgia

LOL it was nice to see… fun in fact to see Big Mac riled at HIS daughters misadventures… by bringing home this

Would Jordan,an undercover agent or whatever and Comminsioner Anna really meet in an often crowded park and exchange info on the mob where anyone can see them…dumb writing!!!

But they were sitting on two separate benches, nothing obvious about that. LOL

Thank you, jimh! EXTREMELY dumb writing! Our Anna would NEVER be so careless and foolhardy! Just another prime example of the current regime writing a character TOTALLY counter to their essence….also not at all jazzed with that Jordan person. She comes off as so snotty and arrogant….her reveal as an undercover drug agent was awfully contrived, too….how convenient. It’s like they grasped at anything to try to make her likeable and useful when she really is just totally unnecessary…like most of the newbies we get these days!

Yes, I have thought the same thing. That is very stupid. Sitting on a public bench, back to back, where the world can see and hear?
I believe Rafe gave himself away while conversing with Miss Monotone (Sam) that he may have caused the accident. I wish she would speak with a bit of colour, enthusiasm. Her sotto voce manner of speaking is unnerving.
I have read earlier posts about much criticism concerning Nina. Please, everyone, give Michelle a chance. She is a great actress, deserving our attention. Do not let her subservient demeanor fool you. I am sure her claws will be sharpened soon enough. I hope Silas’ feelings for Nina are resurrected, hence realizing his love for her is still very much alive.
On a different note, Sabrina has obviously shifted into a world of her own creation, a means to cope with the pain of her loss. This is the perfect way to send her off into oblivion. That is, a mental institution or some kind of rehab facility. I know from personal experience that the loss of a child; grandchild in my case; will remain a constant companion.

Thank You! I have been saying this all week.

@Nonna….While I love the character of Sam, I do concur with you on Kelly M.’s delivery skills….she needs less mumbling and more enunciation, plus a bit of animation thrown in for good measure. In another matter regarding Ms. Morgan, could wardrobe please quit attiring her in tank tops that are cut so low that I constantly fear for her having a “wardrobe malfunction?” I literally dubbed the end of last week, “Fallout Friday” because so many of the female cast members were wearing tops so totally immodest that I expected a mass tumbling out of their assets. It’s bad enough the we are forever subjected to NLG’s cleavage exhibitionism, but now it has spread to almost the entire female population of PC, save for Epiphany. In certain situations, it may not be such a big deal, but for Maxie to walk into a judge’s chamber so exposed seemed to be not only in poor taste, but just a really bad fashion choice. I’m actually surprised a lot of these women and their bodacious bods made it past network standards…then again, me thinks apparently there really aren’t any in that respect anymore.

It looks like Rafe now…but when and why did he start drugs…i hate stories that are sudden and without explaination…he was gone for months and suddenly returns with a front burner story and he suddenly is a drug addict!!!

What I thought was beyond stupid was Anna talking to Jordan while Jordan’s holding the phone. So…a passerby would think what…that Anna was talking to herself?

LOL. Dumb.

Well, that devishly handsome and charismatic Johnny is behind bars so it can’t be him.
AJ had a really strong alibi this time (that being that he was dead at the time of the accident). Toonces the driving car?
I give up and I give up so readily because frankly, my dear I don’t give a damn.

That would be Toonces the driving CAT, not car.

Toonces? LOL……is he still around running amok?????

I think it was someone Fluke hired to send a message to Spencer.

I not sure so I”LL wait to see,I’m hoping it isn’t Rafe.

Why do they love to have so many miscarriages and kill kids on this show so much. No wonder the girl who plays Sabrina is leaving. He storyline was just unnecessarily depressing.

Rafe is the main suspect since he is going down hill quickly BUT, wouldnt it be a great story if it were Robin who was driving home to see Patrick and Emma and she hit them? This couldnt be revealed for months since Kimberly is off the show but it would be one hell of a way to reintroduce her back and cause turmoil for her and Patrick.

I think it was either Rafe or Fluke

I’m with you on that, Rafe looks soooooooo guilty and I’m getting tired of Fluke’s story line. If he wearing a mask to look like Luke, Tracy would have seen it already [in bed]. Maybe somebody had plastic surgery to look like Luke or it’s his cousin. Tracy should watch out because she is no longer useful to Fluke. Today somebody got “shot”, I think Anna set that up to protect Ric and to flush out Fluke.

When it first happened by first thought was it might have been Lucy. She was very distracted with the nurse’s ball and her affair with Scott weighting on her mind, that perhaps she was texting and driving, or just not focused on the road. If Lucy it would dovetail nicely with her history of losing a baby and with Scott being the DA. He might have to be one to put his lady love in jail for vehicular manslaughter of Baby Gabriel —-

But now they have thrown Rafe into the mix– he could have been driving high– or maybe he was hired by Fluke drug goons to drive the car off the road in exchanged for drugs. His character isn’t doing anything at the moment so he might be easily disposed of– although been thinking Nina didn’t have a miscarriage and Rafe could be Silas’s son not his brother’s Stephen’s.

The ages don’t match. Race is established as 16 or 17. We know Nina was in a coma for 20 years or more. However…I think Kiki could be Nina and Silas’ child. Maybe Ava and Madeline made an unholy alliance for Ava to keep the child. Not that I care one way or the other because I don’t care about ANY of these people. When you are basing entire storylines on characters who have been on the show a year or less, your show has a problem.

Didn’t realize Rafe was that young– thought he was older– okay if those are the ages, then you’re right Kiki might be their child— and I get what you’re saying about newbies taking over the screen, although fairly new to GH– less 2 years, I have the same issue with Y&R, been watching for over 30 years and so many people I don’t know or care about on screen all the time — it does make a longtime viewer feel cheated, like their investment in watching a group of core characters has been sweep away by the whim of writers who don’t know or care for the show as much as we do. All shows need new characters to keep things fresh, but they should be interacting with the core characters, not be the whole show, so I feel your pain.

Yes, Johnny. I believe my granddaughter deduced exactly that weeks ago. But, I love your wording much better; “unholy alliance”? I really like that expression.

I’m hoping it’s not Rafe. That would actually turn my stomach. His father was a psycho killer who thought he was a vampire, his mother was murdered (by his father, right?), he made some bad decisions re: Molly, and now he’s stealing to support a drug habit. Making him a baby killer is just too much for me.

If Rafe wants any chance of survival under this regime, he must be made a killer. Don’t you know? Killers are the heroes on this show. We must root for murderers for some reason. And yes, it turns my stomach too.

I sincerely hope that this is a distraction and that it wasn’t Rafe. I love that kid! I am hoping the whole thing draws him into the Fluke thing. Sam might discover that it was Fluke, and not Rafe, idk. I just really hope it’s not Rafe.

SO… who else thinks Ric died yesterday?

RC and team like to twist&turn and bring surprises.. At times things are not as they seem.
I’d guess it’s none of the above…
Whomever it was it will be a shocker !
(I like that:)

I don’t find anything surprising about this writing. We all called the Dante /Lulu baby reveal with Britt 9 months in advance. We all knew AJ stood for Ava Jerome. We all knew Ava would be pregnant. We all know Victor Cassadine is Nathan’s father. I find Ron’s “twists and turns” quite predictable.

I agree Johnny…its like us fans know what will happen next before the spoilers…did you see that stupid scene in the park with Commisioner Devane and Jordan, supposedly an undercover agent, talking about PCs mob ect. right there in the open for all to see? Ridiculous!!!

That in of itself is a shocker.

Johnny,
RC let us know.. he dropped more hints than needed, he had us LOL 🙂
Nonetheless, there have been many twists&turn that were total surprise.. 🙂

Only someone whose brain had stopped working wouldn’t have known AJ was Ava… lol
RC wanted us to now that so we could all cheer QJ on to being found not guilty!
RC wants us to know what he wants us to know for us to get into the story knowing when they don’t know.. lol
soap writing 101 ..

It was Audrey, no doubt about it. Woman had been knocking back tequila shots trying to work up the nerve to tell Liz to watch her own kids for once.

And OOPS!! Baby Plot Point came to a head earlier than expected.

Either that or AJ did it. Didn’t AJ do EVERYTHING bad that has ever happened in PC? From the way everyone talks he did.

I am still trying to figure out what AJ ever ever ever did that was so bad other than love his son and try to get him back from the murderer who kidnapped him as a child and held him hostage his whole life and subjected him to shootings, death, rale, murder, etc. Nothing AJ ever did even comes close to what Sonny or nearly everyone else on the show has done.

Rape…not rale.

A.J. did some rather despicable things, but you’re right, it was all in the name of saving his son’s life from Sonny and Carly. I love Carly, she may be my favorite character on the entire show, but she makes very poor life choices. I kind of hate Sonny. I see through the b.s. and recognize that he’s a thug and a bully and I kind of agree with Monica. I mean, who bangs his youngest son’s middle aged girlfriend in the tomb of the birth father of his adopted eldest son that he murdered? Sonny is a jerk. Now, if you retcon some of A.J.’s actions from the past, particularly marrying Courtney and terrorizing her by hiring Coleman to stalk her to get revenge on Sonny, he was just a real f. up and not much more. I do miss the big lug, though.

But, I still think Sonny was the real villain here, and not A.J.

LOL…

then you had better throw in some Leslie

she dingbatted her belonging… where am I headed

she was charging to the hospital… to get at Epiphany

or had just trysted with magic mylo

it was Leslie Webber

AJ pushed Carly down the stairs causing her miscarriage, he caused climate change, he created the national deficit, and he is responsible for GM’s massive safety violations. It’s all AJ’s fault.

He didn’t push her- he grabbed her, she pulled away, falling down the stairs. Besides, if he was going to push her, he’d make sure she was DEAD!!!!

go to YT and see .AJ did not push Snarly down the stairs. She came to the house to shove it in AJ’s face that she was pregnant with Scummys child. She was rubbing it in, and she tripped. He tried to grab her to stop her from falling. he should have shoved her for all the dirty things she did to him. If she had died falling down the stairs, I would have cheered. AJ was the EVUL why because he was an alcoholic who fell off of the wagon. GMAB.This show is a joke. I don’t care who caused the accident. Rafe is now the EVUL. he has been Ron’s whipping boy, now he will probably be the one who was on drugs and caused the accident. Rafe is hurting, and the people who are suppose to notice are to busy with their own problems. Remember Alexis killing Krissys abuser.? She still gets to practice law.?

I wish it was AJ. At least I’d be interested. Unfortunately it wouldn’t involve Sean Kanan and we’d be told about everything that happened off-screen.

Avatar, I agree AJ didn’t push Carly. I was being ironical.

Its probably Rafe..That would be sad..I like this kid..he a good young actor and was left in back burner for the longest time, not a mention of him..Now they finally show him on screen, a coke addict who will steal for drugs..So two and two together is most likely is Rafe on high binge.

Very true, Omar. When he was introduced, Rafe was such a sad, sweet boy who just needed some love. Molly was the perfect source for that, and to put her back with TJ was simply repetitive and unnecessary…they already played that duo for all it was worth, which was not much in my estimation. Rafe and Little Miss DL (or is it LD? Can’t keep track of Alexis’s “progressive” naming habits….) should have definitely been “summer lovin'” last year and on. In the meantime, the showrunners turned Rafe into a sullen, stalking tattletale emo freak, that not even his own (late) mother could love….besides, he is such a stylistic mess! Between the Eddie Munster do, the lame ’50’s look plaid shirts and now those laughable diamond stud earrings (WHAT?) you aren’t even sure what he is supposed to be…a gansta wannabee or a gender-confused adolescent that could raid Sam or Kiki’s closet at any moment??? Now he’s suddenly a lying, thieving cokehead who may be responsible for vehicular homicide….death will probably be a relief for this poor, pathetic guy! Oh, Rafe, we hardly knew ye….

lmfao…im going to give some of my plaid shirts to goodwill now!!!

Oh, no, Jimh, don’t do that. Plaid shirts are still very much en vogue. But, looking at your name has just sparked a nostalgic thought. Rafe looks like Wally. How odd!

@Nonna! LOL. He DOES look like Wally…actually I think he looks like a cross between Wally and the Beav…

I don’t know about those plaid shirts jimh…I’m thinkin’ only a model could pass those suckers off as “en vogue.” I vote goodwill good riddens!

@jimh….Didn’t mean to stir a debate over the merits of plaid…there is nothing wrong with it, per se! (So please save yourself a trip to Goodwill….LOL.) I was simply referring to the retro style of shirt that Rafe wore as doing him no favors….particularly when mixed with his unfortunate choice of jewelry! Every time they do a close-up on his angelic little visage those clunky diamond studs just look so girlie and WRONG! I think some pirate hoops would have looked more masculine and bad @$$, along with a black tee shirt (ala “Jason”) to reflect his move to the “dark side.” But fashion choices as a means of expressing one’s character has never been a strong suit for GH…most likely due to budgetary concerns, I would suppose.

@Nonna and rebecca1….I actually think our Rafe looks like a cross between “The Beave” and “Eddie Munster,” aka Butch Patrick. I really wish that for the Halloween episodes the wardrobe wizards would have clad this problem manchild in an Eddie-style short velvet pantsuit along with the obligatory “Wolfie” doll as an accessory!!!! Would have been a hoot!!!!

okay…I’m getting back on the Rafe train as another image comes to mind…Anson Williams aka Potsie from Happy Days! LOL…if they ever do a modern day remake we’ve got Steve Burton as Fonzie and “Rafe” as Potsie… Dr. O can be Mrs. Cunningham and Mac could be Mr….

Oh the endless possibilities… LOL!

@rebecca1…OMG! You are SO right, Rafe does look like “Potsie!” He is such an amalgam of retro-sitcom stars it isn’t even funny!!!

my guess is a drugged out Rafe. Ava made threats but I don’t think she did it. Not Silas or Julian or Ric either. Fluke wouldn’t care, but don’t think it was him.

Figure it will be Rafe, because of the drugs….BUT I really hope it’s Levi, because he’s a MAJOR douche, which would give me the satsifaction of seeing Maxie dump his ass and Nathan being able to put him behind bars!

The obvious two suspects for the longest time was either Fluke or Ava…they both had motive. Fluke to scare Spencer (since Emma was in the car) and Ava to silence Carlos. I don’t think anyone intentionally wanted to kill anyone in this case…but impart a warning.

However, I agree with several posts above. Unfortunately it might be Rafe…either he rode them off by accident, got scared and kept going…and that’s what drove him (no pun intended!) to drugs. Or, he was already on drugs, high…and inadvertently caused the accident.

I, too, think he might be the son of Silas and Nina.

I wish he was Nina and Silas’ son, but the years don’t add up. ALSO, why are the writers so hellbent on making Rafe a coward? Ratting out Molly and TJ to her mommy? Sucker punching TJ? Ughhhh… I liked Rafe.

Agree. You’re right. I wasn’t adding the years. (Although maybe like his father (who knows? maybe he IS a vampire!…so too is Rafe and thus is older than he looks! 😉 )

I do suspect there’s a child of theirs out there that Madeleine has hidden away…

As for Rafe…they made him this good, sweet boy from the beginning. Vulnerable, sympathetic, likeable. But LOL…they really have made him rather wimpy. Did you see how he ducked…practically cowered when TJ was about to punch him? C’mon Rafe. No girl, let alone Molly, is going to be attracted to you “man up.”

I really think that Kiki is the actual daughter of Nina and Silas….I have never gotten that much of a motherly vibe from Ava in reference to her supposed child….they are more like sisters or something. This would certainly explain that void….I can also picture Ms. Jerome as being thrilled to take Nina’s baby off Madeline’s hands since she obviously was obsessed with Silas and would thus covet owning his progeny. Even physically, Kiki looks more like an amalgam of Nina and Silas than Ava and Silas. Just saying…..

That thought did cross my mind and may actually be the case. Perhaps Madeleine thought her daughter would wake from the coma and she’d be able to tell her that Silas and Ava had a baby…increasing the emotional wallop of the affair.

But I don’t think Ava’s removed from Kiki…actually, I think other than Morgan she’s the only person Ava cares about. I certainly don’t see them as sisters…just that Kiki is drawn as a tough chick who doesn’t take “stuff” from anyone, including her mother. And with all her mother has done to her…lying about her father, sleeping with Morgan…there’s a natural detachment and resentment (which by the way seems to be dissipating).

But now that I think about it that gets confusing. Why, if Ava loved Silas so much, would she not tell him they had a daughter? It would suit both her and Madeleine’s cause if she had…

And on another note…if Kiki does turn out to be Nina’s…it could put another wedge between Sam and Silas, who I’m actually rooting for.

@rebecca1…I agree that my Kiki maternity theory has a few holes in it, but then again that never stopped RonC from fitting a storyline to his particular whims. I’m not saying that Ava is necessarily removed from her “daughter”….I do believe she sincerely cares for her, but there is just something off about that relationship that I could never quite put my finger on. Also, I am sure there is so much more to Ms. Jerome’s background that has left to be revealed, so there could be any variety of explanations as to why she withheld her “babygirl” from Silas….pressure from others, blackmail, the relationship with Franco???? Whatever it was, I’m sure it was to serve Ava’s purposes at the time, because she always has an angle and does what is best for her welfare, first and foremost. As for this possible revelation putting a wedge between Sam and Silas, well, I fear there are going to be many so-called “wedges” on the horizon for them…..particularly one called “Jason?” I cannot foresee a happy summer or autumn for this couple, and that certainly displeases me….we have been waiting a long time for them to get together and arrive at a happy place, and now there is going to be all this upcoming turmoil. Oh well, what can I say? It’s a soap….LOL.

P.S. In case you have not already noticed them, please be sure to read the entries by “Nonna” on this page. She is FAS’s beloved grandmother, has just joined our party here at MF and has kindly provided an update on “Alida’s” adventures in Milan!!!!

I’m guessing Levi is a drug dealer and Rafe somehow got mixed up with him. And Maxie is going to blab something that either Sam or Nathan will overhear and investigate.

Then Sam and Nathan are going to realize their cousins….

I can see that, JustSaying, Levi could be linked to Jerry. One way or another, he is trouble.
I just do not see how Sam and Nathan realize they’re suddenly cousins?

Ciao, “Nonna” e benvenuta! What a treat to have you join us here! We have been wondering about your darling and much-missed FAS…please send our greetings to her and give us an update….it has not been the same @MFSoaps since her departure!!!! Having said that, I can now see where her talent for expression and observation emanates….you rock!!!!! As for the possible Jerry link to Levi, I also proposed that possibility….perhaps he is even his progeny? (Shudder at that thought, but there is truly something inherently evil about Maxie’s new beau….he has charlatan written all over his smarmy smirk.) At any rate, your presence is a delightful addition to the website….always great to have a fellow member of the “La Brigata del Stiletto” with whom to compare notes!!! Please be sure to tell FAS I said “Salve!” Buona giornata!

I think it is Heather.. she is baaaaacccckkkkkkkk!!

Please Rafe all of a sudden a drug user that came out of left field…think they are spinning their wheels to prolong the ties between Patrick & Sabrina. Another storyline that won’t go anywhere sorry to say…give us back the old Patrick he needs a meaty story!

Amen to that, Cathy! I’ve expended every last ounce of incredulity in reference to the ninny nurse and her never-ending, “Perils of Pauline” storyline which seemingly just won’t go away!!!! During yesterday’s episode, I saw the not-so-subtle foreshadowing of her fantastical delusions of bridal grandeur, and I thought to myself, oh, they won’t go THERE, but voila, never underestimate the grasping, idiotic machinations of this regime when it comes to highlighting and glorifying the “Sobber.” Here we go again….talk about jumping the shark! Enough already, as @Johnny referenced the other day, there is absolutely nothing that the ptb’s can conjure up which will garner sympathy for this complete mediocrity of a character……far too many of don’t care, period, and the more they shove this epic fail and her departed half-pint at us, the less moved we will be. She has becomes a complete joke….especially donning that “magic wedding gown” again, and in the actress’s heavily pregnant state, no less!!! It’s “finite’ ” for Sappy…time to throw in the towel once and for all…PLEASE!!!!

I tried to like Sabrina…she even reminded me of a nurse i had last summer when i was in the hospital…i kept hoping they would pair her to someone else since Patrina didnt work…now she looks to be having a breakdown…bet you cant wait for that…lol

They had to write her off for her maternity leave…and I think it’s perfectly believable that one so emotionally sensitive as Sabrina would unravel at the loss of her baby. First, she was left at the alter by a man she loves…then their baby dies.

I look forward to her return and I have a feeling they’re going to write her a bit stronger…with Carlos by her side.

@jimh…..Did your nurse have a “magic stethoscope,” too or was it just standard issue??? LOL….Sorry, just had to ask!!!!!

@rebecca1….Yes, I understand they had to get all creative and think of a snappy send-off for Sappy, but quite frankly this whole pregnancy and baby death was extremely gratuitous and unnecessary…for those of us who cannot stand the character, the entire episode came off as campy and comical and for those who have invested in this nurse and her Cinderella fantasy, it was cruel and uncalled for….I think it was particularly insensitive to viewers who had similar real life experiences because the drama was done so poorly and only as a plot point of convenience. I still maintain that after the non-wedding, this character should have been scotched from the canvas….it would have been much more expedient and kinder (in general) than dragging us through this six-month+ exercise in futility.

I don’t know who is behind it but I want to shake his or her hand. Glad they got rid of the unneccesary plot point.

I just wish they took out Sabrina as well.

So I assume the character of Rafe will be leaving PC soon? We haven’t seen him in forever, and now he’s doing drugs and was the one that hit Patrick and Sabrina? Anytime a character does a 180 like that, out of nowhere, you know it’s the end……

I sincerely hope that it wasn’t Rafe. I really, really liked that character, he was so lost and sweet and took such good care of “Danny Boy”. I’ve been so happy with all of the work that the current writers have done on GH over the past two years or so, but they dropped the ball with Rafe. I think a lot of it had to do with the problems with the actresses playing Felix’s sister, I forget her name already. But, regardless, I don’t want to see Rafe turned into a psycho and then written or killed off the show, ala Zander Smith back in 2004. I still miss Zander. Sigh. Anyhow, I sincerely hope they can redeem Rafe. If anyone can, it’s Sam.

I think the shooting below, in the holding cell, was fabricated. Rick’s death will be faked in order to flush out Fluke, and for Rick’s protection.

“Flush out Fluke…” I love your use of alliteration, “Nonna!” ; )

Grazie, carissima Shay. I truly appreciate your warm welcome. I only hope that my mischievousness, at times, is not too apparent. I feel as though I know you as you really hit it big with my beautiful grand baby, Alida, aka FAS.
Thank you for asking . She is doing very well; made quite a few friends and due to her bubbly personality, has become quite popular. We have family spread over the entire peninsula, so she is never alone. Besides, her boyfriend, Michael, attends the same institute. It is an international school, thus their studies are in English. I will tell her , ‘salve’ , for you.
Yes, Levi is looking more and more suspicious. I just wonder if he will snitch on Nathan to the courts for lying. I realize he is just acting, but his presence emanates an air of uneasiness. Good actor, or just his persona? I hope that Maxie is, at least , wise enough and has gained a semblance of maturity by now. Is she still digging deeper holes for herself?

Prego, “Nonna!” Likewise, I feel as if I already know you, since your lovely “Alida” always wrote of you with such respect and affection! The two of you have that rare and special thing known as a “mutual admiration society!” While our most enjoyable correspondence obviously did not have the chance to reach such an advanced level, we certainly had a great time playing off each other’s thoughts and theories, and I truly miss that! However, what wonderful (but certainly not unexpected) news that your charming granddaughter is taking Milan by storm….how very proud of her you must be!!!! I knew “FAS” would be a favorite at university, and having her beloved Michael (plus your extended family) there with her in your beautiful homeland must be not only a comfort, but a lot of fun!!!! Whenever I watch one of my popular Italian dramas (primarily “Don Matteo,” but now also “Inspector Manara”….) I always think of your Alida and how fortunate she is to be in such a prime place of culture, cuisine and civilization. I am so glad to finally be able to have my heartfelt greetings personally sent to her by you! I look forward not only to hearing more about her future accomplishments, but also to discuss the intricacies of GH with you!!!! As for your mischievous streak, well, welcome to the club, Nonna!….I have one, too, and sometimes poor Mr. Fairman has to moderate my enthusiasm!!!! But I still love posting, as there are so many interesting and welcoming characters here…they often actually rival those in Port Charles! In terms of Levi, yes, I have noticed his unease, too….I question whether this is a choice in his performance, or perhaps the actor himself has been a bit disappointed in the lukewarm reception his character has received from fans? Generally speaking, Aussies are usually a huge hit on GH, so perhaps he was expecting a more enthusiastic response? (Garrod is quite the star in Oz.) Also, his role is that of such an enigma….one really doesn’t yet know what to make of him, although his personal vibes up until now have not been very appealing or reassuring. I suppose only time will tell. In reference to Maxie, I’ve grown tired of her mumsy smocks and earthy notions….I want the fabulous, feisty “Fashionista Maximista” back!!!!! She can still be more learned and mature, just much better adorned in her choice of both garb and companion….aka, Nathan!!! (I know FAS would second that motion!….LOL.) Having said that, please do tell her I send “Felicitazioni” on her successful start at medical school and to “Stammi bene!” And once again, Nonna, benvenuta…e stato un piacere!!! ; )

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Published

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.  I was working with Dominic  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.

Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

Published

Ric

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.

Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.

Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL

Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.

A VENGEFUL PAST

As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.

On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision of  Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.

Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife. Elizabeth stepped aside, and when Ric planned to propose to Elizabeth at the 2015 Nurses Ball, Carly exposed his manipulations, and Elizabeth dumped him yet again. And those are just two examples of the lengths Ric will go to for Elizabeth!

So, we ask you, given the history of Elizabeth and Ric, how do you see this playing out with Dante in the picture? How will Ric derail their growing bond? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
