General Hospital's Jason Thompson Chats On Samtrick, Robin & Part Of Patrick's Story He Would Like To Tell!

On General Hospital, Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) has taken his friendship with Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) to the bedroom, and now the duo is seemingly headed for love. But the relationships they are trying to put behind them (so they can move forward with each other mind, body and soul completely) are actually still active and key part to their story: Sam has no idea that Jason (Billy Miller) is still very much alive and roaming Port Charles as the person known as “Jake”, and Patrick has no idea that Helena (Constance Towers) is pulling the strings right now and is responsible for Robin (Kimberly McCullough) not reuniting with Patrick and their daughter Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer).
On-Air On-Soaps caught up with Jason Thompson to ask his thoughts on: the state of Dr. Drake at this point in time where he has taken his relationship with Sam to the next level, how the good doc must still be hurt, bitter, and angry about being put through the emotional ringer by his once beloved Robin, and where he hopes his story will go from here. Fans of the ABC soap opera know that Thompson is one of the MVP’s of the daytime drama series with his raw and authentic emotional performances, and that when given the story he delivers time and time again. So, here’s what Jason T. had to say about the current life of Dr. Drake!
How has it been working with Kelly Monaco (Sam) now in an on-screen romantic relationship … known to the fans as “Samtrick”!
JASON: First of all with Samtrick, I am so pissed off that her name is first! (Laughs) I know, it’s Kelly Monaco, I get it! (Laughs) It’s great working with Kelly and we have been friends for a long time. It’s great to work with her in a different capacity and to be able to use stuff against her, (laughs) for example, “Remember four years ago? Think about that right now, and now just say the line!”
Many viewers are worried about Patrick and where he is ultimately headed, especially after the whole Robin (Kimberly McCullough) story where she leaves him seemingly in the dust twice, and he had no true clue of what is going on. It’s been a hard few years for Dr. Drake with Robin’s “death”, her return as he was about to marry Sabrina (Teresa Castillo), Robin leaving him and Emma, losing a baby son, and on and on.
JASON: I am totally worried about Patrick in a lot of way, but I also want him to continue to keep doing what he is doing, so he has sort of an epiphany at why for the last three years of his life, it has been a seriously crazy mess! I want him to have that realization and be like, “What is going on?” I want to keep going down that road, and I feel like I am talking him into making these decisions and whether they are right or wrong it’s more of, “OK, well nothing has worked so far, so just keep going, and keep going, and we will see what kind of fallout happens, if there is one.” When I think back through the last couple of years and how much has happened, I want Patrick to have a relationship with a psychiatrist where he can actually say all the things that he has been feeling.

Patrick has never delved into his true pain in all of this, other than when he was pill-popping speed when he believed Robin was dead, and that was a coping mechanism at the time.
JASON: He just keeps dancing down this road, and I want those moments where he sits back and somebody gets him to talk for once, and he is not reacting-mode.
Do you want Patrick to have an emotional breakdown?
JASON: I don’t know if it has to be a breakdown, but yeah, whatever that might mean. When I see “breakdown” I see a typical soap opera breakdown, and I really wouldn’t want to do that. Patrick is still a father and he knows what that takes, but I don’t think he has given himself time to try and look at himself in the mirror, and try to understand what the last couple of years have meant. I would like do to that. I feel like that would be fun, and I think the show would have a good time writing it too, because I want him to be talking about things that he has gone through, and not just what storyline is happening, to some extent. I do understand that, because that is what we are there for. But, after nine years, there is a lot that this guy has to talk about, and especially the last three, which have been completely traumatic!
Being a dad to Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer), I would think would remain top on Patrick’s list of things he has to keep it together for, and that he knows no matter what he is going through his daughter is all-important, especially raising her solo without a mother at that moment.

JASON: Absolutely! Personally, as a man hoping to have kids one day, I have always felt it is your job to create a better human being than you are, and I feel the same way when I think about Patrick and what I want him to do. I want him to create a better human being in Emma, and I hope we can have more stuff like that to play and illustrate that point.
What did you think of the beat of the story being revealed, at the time it did, that Patrick knew at one point Jason (Billy Miller) was alive and did not tell Sam about the Intel?
JASON: I wasn’t necessarily worried, because I knew it was going to come, but I didn’t know it was going to come so quick. I read it and I was like, “Oh, this is happening right now?” I had no idea, because it was a big secret and I didn’t know we were going to play it until two days before we shot it. One of the directors mentioned it was happening to me, but it’s just the way we go now. We work fast. And at the same time, I really enjoy Billy Miller (Jason) being there. He has obviously been a welcome actor and he is a great actor. And so I feel, General Hospital just added another great actor to the reservoir which I always love. Patrick and Jason didn’t get along so well, but this time, who knows? Obviously, he has changed a little bit, so it doesn’t mean that they can’t have a different relationship than they did before. As of right now it seems they may both be in “love” with the same person, maybe. I am excited to see what happens. It’s been fun working with Kelly, but at the same time I always want that person named Kimberly McCullough (Robin) to come back too, because it’s always so much fun.
There is so much drama left to play out between Robin and Patrick that would also impact Sam and Jason.

JASON: It’s always something, and I enjoy working with Kimberly, obviously, and it’s always something we can do. Robin can come back in and there are so many ways to go. Patrick and Robin haven’t’ talked. There have been a couple of phone calls here and there. And, I know stuff happens off camera, obviously, but there are a lot of interesting things that could happen on-camera, too: If Patrick was with Sam and Robin returned, and actually, he doesn’t need to be with anybody for fireworks to go off between them! There has been a lot of lies and deceit, in a way. I think one day Patrick will know the truth, and whether that’s fitting to him or not, we will see!
If Patrick knew the truth about Robin is being held against her will and all that she suffered at the hands of Helena (Constance Towers) and the Cassadines, don’t you think it would be a game-changer in their relationship?
JASON: Yeah, but at the same time even if he knew the truth, there would be some dramatic thing that would happen where Robin couldn’t possibly say “no”, but in his mind, maybe she could have said, “no”. So, we shall see!

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nina Confronts Ava for Sabotaging Her Relationship With Sonny and Signs the Divorce Papers
Looks like Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Ava (Maura West) are back to be each other’s sworn enemy number one. By the end of the Monday, April 22nd episode of General Hospital, the women know where they stand with each other after Nina goes in on Ava accusing her of wanting Sonny (Maurice Benard) all to herself, while her marriage has been on the rocks.
In story, at Nina’s office, Ava shows up to see Nina and says she is sorry about what happened with Sonny and that he reacted the way he did, acknowledging that is was over the top, even for Sonny. Ava says she’ll smooth things over, but Nina says she now understands how manipulative and transparent Ava really is.
Given their horrible history, Nina goes in on Ava and how she should never have trusted her. Nina wants to know how long has Ava had this agenda dating all the way back to telling Nina to turn Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC. Ava says she never told her do to that, but Nina wants to know how long Ava has been playing her for a fool.

Ava says she moved in with Sonny to keep Avery safe and she wants to be on good terms with Avery’s father, Sonny. Nina thinks she likes being in Sonny’s inner circle. Ava tells Nina if she goes to him about her advising Nina to call the SEC on Carly and Drew, it won’t work. Sonny still considers Nina a traitor and he will think she’s lying because she’s so desperate to win him back. Ava says if Nina would stop blaming everyone else that maybe Sonny would respect her. Nina says “like he does you?” Ava says Sonny not only respects her, but he also counts on her.
From there, Ava launches into why she and Sonny understand each other, after all, Sonny is a powerful, turbulent, and sometimes violent man. She goes so far to say if Nina wanted someone to just sit by the fire with and play with their grandchildren, she’s got the wrong guy. Ava then talks about Mike from Nixon Falls (Sonny with amnesia) and how Sonny hid the darkest parts of himself from Nina back then, whereas with Ava they are the same similar creatures, so he doesn’t have to hide anything.

Nina wants to know just what Ava wants with Sonny? What is her end game? Ava responds that they understand each other, in ways she can’t with Sonny. Nina tells Ava she can go ahead and have it all and signs Sonny’s divorce papers. Ava walks out with the documents, while Nina in tears at her desk, takes off her wedding rings and has her assistant come in so she can messenger the rings back to Sonny’s address.

Ellen Travolta Makes Another Return to General Hospital
If General Hospital’s Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) nuptials are on, you didn’t think Grandma Gloria Cerullo would miss out on the festivities, now did you?
Casting news from Soap Opera Digest reveals that Ellen Travolta is back taping scenes that will air the week of May 13th on the ABC daytime drama series. When viewers learned that Carmine Cerullo, was also on his way back to Port Charles, now in the face and body of actor George Russo, it only made sense that Grandma Gloria would join Grandpa Cerullo. Look for them both mid-May.
As most people know, Ellen is the older sister to John Travolta. She first make appearances as Gloria back on GH in the mid-90s. Most recently, she returned to the Quartermaine mansion to meet up with daughter, Lois (Rena Sofer) and granddaughter Brook Lynn for Thanksgiving in Port Charles in 2023. Michael Fairman TV interviewed Rena Sofer and Amanda Setton late last year where they shared what it had been liking working with Ellen, who remains very close to Sofer in real-life.

Amanda shared: “We fell in love immediately. What’s crazy is my maternal grandmother was Grandma Gloria. I had her till I was 30 and we were so close. She was really like a second mom to me. So, when I got this script and I’m reading “Grandma Gloria”, it was so bizarre. And then in meeting Ellen, she looks like my grandma – same haircut, same high cheekbones. It really did feel like I had a few days with my grandma. It was very, very special for me. Ellen is sweet, prepared, professional, talented and funny to boot. So, it was one of the best weeks I’ve had at work. I hope she comes back. My fingers are crossed.”

Now, we can’t imagine Brook Lynn and Chase’s wedding day to be smooth sailing, in fact, expect just the opposite, but could it be Grandma Gloria who is ultimately the hero or the calming voice of reason for any pre-wedding jitters? Stay tuned.

The Young and the Restless and General Hospital Actress and Writer, Meg Bennett, Passes Away at 75
Meg Bennett, who had played Julia Newman and later became a writer for the top-rated daytime drama, The Young and the Restless has died at the age of 75. The news comes from her family who shared that she lost her battle to cancer back on April 11th.
Daytime fans remember fondly, Meg’s portrayal of Victor’s (Eric Braeden)first wife. Bennett joined the show in 1980, after her first soap stint for two years in the role of Liza Walton on Search for Tomorrow.
Impressed by her story notes, the late Bill Bell, then head writer of Y&R, had Meg doing double duty acting and writing on the show from 1983-1987. When he decided to write off the character of Julia, he also wanted Meg to stick around as a writer. Not only did this begin a whole other daytime career for Bennett, but she was not done playing Julia either. Throughout the decades, Julia would still come back to Genoa City for a visit. Most recently, Y&R fans saw Julia in 2018, and again in 2020.

Bennett also appeared on Santa Barbara and was a writer on that show as well from 1991-1993. She played the role of Megan Richardson. It was next that Meg had her longest writing stint coming to ABC’s General Hospital. Meg wrote for GH from 1993-2011.
In 1995, Bennett won her first Daytime Emmy for writing and her personal life changed after falling in love with nine-time Daytime Emmy winner, former GH head writer, Bob Guza Jr. In addition, GH also utilized Bennett for her acting skill when she was cast as the villainess Allegra Montenegro. Meg and Bog Guza were officially married in 2004 and purchased a home once owned by Boris Karloff and Gregory Peck.

Additionally, Meg wrote for The Bold and the Beautiful 1987-1989 and later served as a executive story consultant to Brad Bell from 2002-2004. She also wrote for Sunset Beach, Generations and GH: Night Shift throughout her writing career. She went on to win five WGA Awards for GH and Santa Barbara.
Meg is survived by her husband of 19 years, Robert Guza Jr., two stepdaughters, four grandchildren, a brother and a sister.

I would love to see Jason Quartermaine-have him be a doctor, move into the mansion, banter with Tracy and Luke. Not sure what even happened to Sabrina?! I think the actress who plays Sabrina is absolutely lovely. But, the character never really took off.
Sabrina was too forced on us from the start…she shouldve been a small recurring character at first and gradually grew from there…she shouldve kept her Ugly Betty look a little longer and had a crush on someone like Micheal(not a favorite of mine as well) and that might have worked better…she couldve also had a hopeless crush on Patrick but no relationship with him other than as Emmas kindly babysitter…jmho!!!
Kimberly McCullough is the only Robin. GH doesn’t need EH who doesn’t come close to KIMBERLY in many ways. Besides Y&R along with OLTL took over enough of GH. FV Wasted money on MS no matter how they try and prop her and others.
KM got the same kind of contract TG got where he is there for months and takes a few off, id be fine with it but Robins return for weeks and then disappearing for months because of yet another kidnapping by Helene or whoever is absolutely ludicrous…if both parties cant find a way to keep Robin around more steadily lke they do for Luke and saying she took off for a few months to take care of a medical crisis exc. in another country, then replace Robin or write her out completely!!!
SamTrick are a plot device to stall JaSam and nothing more. Sam will throw Patrick under the bus once she finds out Jake is Jason
Sam will probably get pregnant by Patrick before she learns Jake is Jason and that will be another plotline tptb will drag out for months…at least nine of them…lol

Exactly, jimh!!!! I’m just so relieved that Patrick finally escaped those insipid Sappy shackles…that chapter in Dr. Drake’s life was absolutely excruciating to witness. It’s been a true pleasure to see a relaxed and smiling Patrick enjoying his romantic journey with Sam….even if it took a deplorable detour into Disneyland before arriving at this demonstrably better destination.
Except PATRICK isn’t enjoying anything but looks like he is going through the motions. That isn’t happy and the scenes come off forced. Scrubs have history and real love story on GH that people thought they were datiing. it was NOT plot point forced love like with Sam and Sabrina.
I believe that Robin and Patrick should get back together. They are a great couple.
well like jason said theres so many possibility and direction they can go and when you think about it, its a win win situation as far as storytelling go. i wish they would play out more of the emma and patrick angle, as well as tell a story of robin at some point returning to the picture and maybe not reuniting with patrick per say but at least try having a relationship with her daughter.
I absolutely have said that I thought a good storyline would be patrick going through his emotions talking to Kevin. He needs to befoe jumping into another relat that will end badly. They need to show patrick and emma dealing with Robin not being there alone not with anna coming in. Just father and daughter. They are great together. I think Robin and patrick need to talk it out. He needs to listen to her and stop worrying about him and she needs to hear his worries as well. They will overcome this like they have overcome things in the past. They need to try not just for them but for emma
Scrubs forever and always. SamTrick a contrived mess. No drama since the writers took away Patrick knowing Jason was alive and Sam now knowing where Robin went.
I totally agree. Once they paired them as a couple they turned from a fun non forced friendship with tons of chemistry to nothing!! There is no chemistry and is so forced and uncomfortable. Patrick is acting like a selfish hypocrite. He needs to get his head out of his butt and realize what Robin was trying to tell him. He never asked Robin about her ordeal but he can flip out at her for this. The secret he’s keep from sam and from himself is only going to end badly. Robin needs patrick and patrick knows he needs and still wants Robin. It will take time but I believe they will find their way back to one another.

Patrick overlooked it because his head was up his Sammy’s rear. Robin would NEVER leave Emma because she wanted to and again he chose to ignore that. Patrick doesn’t DESERVE ROBIN anymore. Let him wallow in Samtrick. Bring Jagger back for Robin.

I agree to a point. Robin should understand what this was going to do to him and emma. That being said patrick knew who he married. Hes being incredibly selfish. He never once asked Robin about her ordeal but the first thing was let’s have a baby. He was so needy that he couldn’t see what she was telling him. He’s being a hypocrite now too. I think they still are each others soul mates. They will get back together in time but Robin needs to make him grovel a bit first. Scrubs are endgame just like jasam
Agreed! Additionally knowing Helena is alive and well after she was assumed dead you would think he would have questions concerning his last conversation with Robin.
When Robin is back for a longer arc yes, bring Jagger back or Michael Sutton as a long lost cousin or twin brother of Stone.

I agree with both of you but its possible down the road that Kim will come back and still direct they will be together. Not saying now but it could happen. Whatever happens now happens. It’s fine but I always say never say never especially in port Charles. Lol

Patrick and sam are a mess. Not sure why they put them together as a couple. They had much better chemistry as friends and adventure buddies. The relationship feels so forced and uncomfortable to watch. It’s more of a lust/lonliness/rebound for both.

I liked that they became friends after not really liking each other – remember when Jason was in for brain surgery and when Robin “died” at the same time.

Silas didn’t believe her when she had suspicions about Nina. I don’t necessarily blame him; his emotions were all over the place. Sam was willing to wait for him…she gave him space…but unfortunately Silas was manipulated by the wife he loved and grieved for, felt guilt about for so many years…the relationship couldn’t sustain itself once the trust and loyalty was broken.
Leave Robin out of this crap Samtrick story. Patrick doesn’t care enough about Robin to even see how she’s doing. Let Robin find a man who really loves her. That man is clearly not Patrick Drake.

Patrick doesnt care about Robin because the writers chose not to write about his real feelings because they know Kim is not available. They are giving him something else to do with people who chose to stay on the show. Patrick cannot run around the hospital all day looking at charts!
Like JT said he would like them to do it too. He doesn’t need Robin to be there. He can talks about his crazy last 4 years and work through it. The writers could have him care it’s called being creative. That’s what they get paid for instead of ruining the character. This is not patrick at all.
Why isn’t it Patrick? He’s a young, hot doctor who’s been grieving and reeling far too long. Hrs gone through despair, loss, guilt, depression…he’s attempted to fall in love again…he was reunited with Robon only to lose her again…then suffered the death of his son. For whatever reasons he’s drawn to Sam it makes perfect sense…as Streisand sings…people needing people…he needs love and has formed a close bond with Sam. It’s natural…i like them together. Whether it lasts or each eventually go back to their original loves, time will tell….
I like Samtrick because it removes Sam from Jake/Jason, which I feel is best for the show rather than rerunning the Jasam dullness, and at the same time allows for conflict when and if Robin manages to return. All of the Jasam conflict was in Sam’s mind and running out of her mouth. My major beef with Sam is that she talks to damn much and says nothing at all. Other characters have meaningful dialog, but not Sam. She just talks and talks and talks. I am all in favor of putting her back with Sonny and letting her bore him to death.
I would love it if they keep Robin on the show! Robin and Patrick belong together. It is so great to watch them on GH as the best couple!

Jason Thompson is consistently one of the best actors on GH and maybe in all of daytime. I love the character and those truly gut-wrenching, emotional scenes are played to perfection by JT.
As for Samtrick, I love them together. I agree with the comment above that Sam and Patrick should have happened a long time ago, when Jason was thought to have died, instead of bringing in the useless character of Sabrina. But, without her, we wouldn’t have gotten the mega talent Jeffery Vincent Parise as Carlos, who I find WAY more interesting than Sabrina.
As for Robin, I don’t even want the character back anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Patrick and Robin together, but so much has happened in the past few years that I can’t see them ever getting back together and everything being okay. And with KMc’s directing dreams and unavailability for a long term commitment, I don’t want to see the Robin revolving door happen again. If they want to bring her back permanently, they should look into recasting unless KMc can commit long-term.
I agree with most of what you said. Except you never know. I believe in time they will be together. Patrick needs to know what she’s going through again and not ignoring it like last time. In soap world and in PC crazier things have happened. Maybe she will come back and direct when she needs to.

he went on to share how intense and awesome it was to share a scene with Anthony Geary.. albeit a short scene… but that AG presence IS what it is : not verbatim here… his eye for an eye scenes are like 1000 foot yardstick… so deep it reaches the spleen

@Jimmy….I beg to differ about Carlos. He was fully functional as a GH character through his association with the Jeromes….thus, he didn’t need Sappy as a reason to exist. However, Mr. Parise was definitely utilized as one of many cast members whose frequent purpose often seemed to be nothing more than to prop the glorified babysitter. In other words, Carlos could have been present without that nuisance of a nurse………he just wouldn’t have been known as “Car-LLLLLLLLLLOS!!!!!” LOL. (I also still believe he should have had a backstory with Ava….it would have made much more sense to have had them as an ex-couple than to have suggested a past “Romper Room Romance” with Sappy……)
Since I can’t have the Stelly version of JaSam, Samtrick is my 2nd choice. You can totally see & feel the trust, respect & friendship Jason T & Kelly M share offscreen when they work together onscreen.

I am enjoying Patrick on screen more and like Samtrick, but really, just as closest of friends. I love my Scrubs and I think even Ray Charles would have been able to see Jakes walk back to Jason is leading him back to his Jasam. As a Robin, Patrick and Emma fan, I’m good with Samtrick sitting as a pretty plot point before returning to their true loves and children. I would like Samtrick to keep a bond post Jasam reunion. Kelly and JT are fun.
Yes they are fun as friends only. Once they crossed that line it changed. They are childish and she’s beyond annoying when she’s in his presence. They could have remained friends gone out but didn’t need to sleep together. I too hope when the dust settles and everything is as it should be they still will be friends.

I agree that Patrick should know the truth about Robin and that can go every which way, however Robin should definitely reunite with Emma and have her in her life even if split custody. This way if Robin doesn’t stay, she can still be a great mom to Emma. 🙂

I TOTALLY DISAGREE. su0000! the fact that it upsets you and you keep repeating her fans need to let go tells me people and her fans want her back. Otherwise you wouldn’t have to tell her fans and others to get over it. They are here complaining to get heard. There are plenty of GH people not needed and DO NOT have Robins rich history. ROBIN has MANY ties unlike most of the now GH cast. KIMBERLY, is willing to do both and stated it many times in interviews. Just like Roger H, ME, MoB, MS, BM and others who do other many other things besides GH and are allowed time off and get GOOD story on GH while doing other things. Kimberly a GH Vet should Be allowed. She is excellent at acting which is why that makes her a good director. JT even stated many times. He would look at KIMBERLY and follow her lead because she was that good. Kimberly is a very talented lady. If they brought Robin back and worked with Kimbeely like they do others GH might get the viewers they seem to be losing each week back.
Samtrick are as forced and a plot point just the same as Patrick and Sabrina. They don’t work and neither do Samtrick. PATRICK has become a hyprocrite since he hated the mob but now Ok with the mob because of SAM. He investigates everything with SAM but ignored and didn’t investigate Robin staying in Paris when he and Anna know something is up with Robin since they questioned Robin about PTSD and then ignored it. Patrick did the same thing with phone calls Robin made before she returned the last time. He ignored the phone calls. RC doenst know Patrick nor do the other writers since they killed the character. Would have been a better idea to write Scrubs and Emma as a HEA and if the actor Jason Thompson wanted he could come back as a new character. Instead they purposely choose to ruin Robin a legacy for Patrick and Patrick looks so dumb and stupid. Guess it’s only Robins fault when she leaves EMMA yet PATRICK can leave her and go play with SAM and that is OK. Again Patrick is a hypocrite. There is No win win but a contrived plot point with terrible writng and the reason many left/stopped watching GH because of it.

JT always wanting to work with his friends doesnt say much for his acting skills or goals. Diversity in experience and acting partners broadens one’s skills and expands opportunities. All this guy talks about his working with people with whom he has long term friendships. BORING. I think this guy should stop doing interviews; every time he does, I have less and less respect for him as an actor.
After coming off an absolutely disastrous storyline that dragged on for over a year and co-starred someone who was so obviously not an “FOJ”—(Friend of Jason)—I have no problem with Thompson’s desire to work with Kelly. Their off-screen friendship clearly translates to the screen with an easy-going, playful chemistry. As someone who practically gagged every time Patrick was in one of those forced scenes with Sappy, I welcome and relish this current coupling. JT more than served his time with that nauseating nurse character glued to his hip….he more than earned the right to select Dr. Drake’s next romantic partner…and he chose well!

Where was Patrick when Robin called 2 times and he ignored both phone calls listening to Ugly Betty who didn’t know squat about Robin?”PATRICK still hasn’t asked Robin what she went through missing two years of her life being held against her will and tortured when she returned. She forgave that and is a better woman than I for doing that. I don’t blame Robin for helping a friend, Jason, who helped her and gave her a life with PATRICK and EMMA she wouldn’t have had. Robin even told Patrick she wasn’t doing this for just Jason but for Sam and Danny to which he replied that he didn’t give a dam about them. Yet it’s perfectly fine for him to sleep with the mobs wife, and their contrived friendhsip, without giving Robin a second thought. He knows something isn’t right or he must be the biggest idiot if he didn’t. She forced him and Sam to leave. After two years of Ronin neing kidnapped he should question something.
When Patrick finds out that Robin was not in charge when she tried to protect he and their daughter, if he doesn’t fogive her and doesn’t go back and try and win Robin back then PATRICK should be tortured like Robin was. Maybe then he would understand all she has been through.
As for Samtrick, they are the most ridiculous pairing. Patrick will always belong with Robin. Their love story was epic not a plot point like his last two pairing. Sad what this show did to Robin and Scrubs all for their pets.
Agree again!!! I always said what JT said in the interview. I would love for patrick to be by himself to work through his feelings over the last few years before he jumps into anything again. Patrick has been put through the ringer and they need to explore that along with emma. JT shines when he is alone and not up anyone’s butt. I think that would be a great storyline for him.

I loved the friendship and chemistry of patrick and sam. Once they slept together everything changed. The chemistry they had felt more like a lust/lonliness/rebound chemistry. It was so uncomfortable to watch. I ca barely watch them together or separately anymore. Sam was great with jason and acting like the thought Independant Pi woman she is all the time. With patrick she turns into this sleezy mumbly teenage girl. It’s beyond annoying. Patrick is no better with his ridiculous come ons
I always said patrick needed to talk to someone and get his life in order before heading into another relationship. I think Robin is only one that can keep him in line. He’s turned into this selfish hypocritcal person. I believe they will find their way back to one another.

Putting sam and patrick in bed was a big mistake. The chemistry was so much better when they were just friends. Now it feels forced and uncomfortable. They act like childish not like adults. I think, if we look back at Patrick and Sabrina’s story her place in his and Emma’s life was perfect at the time. Emma needed a wRm, nurturing mother figure and Oatrick needed a calm, sweet, caring woman who, unlike Britt at the time was easy to be with, understanding and down to earth. It might have been interesting to pair him with Elizabeth but how many widows of her friends could she be with…she already fell for her brother-in-law/ best friend Emily’s husband Nicolas…nope. Sabrina was good for Patrick and Emma…just iso sad Sabrina got so destroyed in the end.
It really bothers me that Patrick has no sense of anxiousness or fear about Robin and her safety. She deserves better. Patrick should have to fight for Robin.I want Robin to walk away with independence and strength she has always had and to get a new love interest and drive Patrick nuts. My issue with Sam is that she’s whiny,boring and lacklustre character. If Robin coming back, writers PLEASE unite Jason and Robin, It’s long overdue. I like Patrick and Sam, but not as a couple; it’s been so forced and painful and both of their characters have acted out of character and very sophomoric in order to make this pairing happen. I wish they could return to the friendship they used to have. And, speaking of friendship, how I wish they would focus on Patrick’s friendship with Elizabeth. His friendship with Sam is interesting, but his friendship with Elizabeth is dynamite.
I would like to Patrick and Sabrina find their way back together. I think Patrick has been through a rough few years and I think Sabrina has the strength and kindness to see him through that. They are wonderful partners and have great chemistry.
As for Robin, I know that offscreen Jason and Kimberly have a great friendship and I’m happy for them about that, but it doesn’t translate into a relationship I want to see onscreen. Helena may be holding Robin against her will now, but Robin had many, many choices along the way and she chose other things over her relationships with Patrick and Emma. She chose to lie to Patrick and to Emma. She chose to hurt them. I don’t want to see any reconciliation for Patrick and Robin. If Kimberly comes back, I want to see Patrick let Robin go for good and sue for and win full custody of Emma (so that Emma does not have to continue to live in Robin’s selfishly created roller coaster) and have the show focus on Robin’s relationships with other characters and what Robin learns from the consequences of the actions.
How can sabrina go back to patrick after they way he treated her?? She was 2nd or 3rd in his heart. Robin was always first then emma. He wasn’t in love with her. If he was he would have chosen her. It was always about Robin. She (sabrina) was more in love with him then he was with her. He loved the idea of her being so into him and she can care for emma. Even when she was carrying GAbriel he was there but not really. Felix and Carlos showed more emotion and excitement than he did. He’s basically forgotten about her. They are more like acquaintances now. There is no going back for them. She deserves to be loved first and foremost.

I always love Kimberly McCullough, and as someone posted earlier, Jason Thompson is one of the best on GH. But Patrick and Robin were boring to me. I like Patrick and Sam together. Jason and Kelly Monaco have undeniable chemistry on screen. I really noticed it when they did the storyline at Crichton-Clark. That was when it dawned on me the potential they could have as a couple.
When you think about it story-wise, Patrick deserves some happiness. He’s had a rotten past couple of years. He watched his wife die, or so he thought, he grieved for her, then she came back and left town again, then he lost his son with Sabrina. Who can blame him for wanting to hop in the sack with the nearest available piece of ass? Lol honestly?
Sam is in the same boat after losing Jason, she too deserves some happiness, even if it’s only temporary. After what they have been through in their personal lives, it’s natural that these two people would be drawn to each other. Is Sam his forever soul mate? Definitely not. But for the time being, it works, and I’m intrigued to see where they go next.
What secret is Patrick keeping from Sam? He thinks Jason is dead. Sam knows that now.

I agree and have always thougjt exactly what JT said. I would love to see a storyline just centered around patrick and emma (sometimes) about working through his feelings. They have never touched on theme he’s been put througj the ringer the last few years and rather than him get involved in another relationship that’s going to go bust have him have a breakdown of some sort and have him in therapy to discuss those feelings. JT is amazing by himself I find. The scenes after Robin dies and then his drug dependency were crazy good. They need to show that again and explore him getting his life back on track. That’s would be great. I would probably like him again seeing that than jumping sam.

when this happens… will Sam and Patrick declare their love for each other ?

Kimberly as Robin…either she is with GH or not. The Robin character is always on hold until K has the time or urge to come back. Wonder how the character of Robin would have developed if she hadn’t been held “hostage” by your comings and goings, or they had recast. My vote is if you really want a Robin, recast. Maybe Anna, Robert and even Patrick could have put their heads and skills together to find/free you? This could have made for an interesting, exciting story. But it’s not all K’s fault. ABC and writers are letting Kimberly get away with it.
Sam & Patrick…as many have suggested, an interlude to fill the loss and pain. Fairly ambivalent as to who their true soul mates end up being…until the next catastrophe.
Patrick…No we never saw Patrick do the mental work to get through the Robin stuff, at least at times. Especially since he is a doctor and should know the signs of needing help. And we never saw him really try to find and save her either. He could have confided in, and asked the help of Anna who has been in the business for most of her life.
Just know what I will be glad to see the end of…the Fluke storyline.
Really!? Just so you know the show doesn’t wait for her. She was supposed to be back already. GH pushed her back so they accommodate fluke. Not her fault she was already! Next time she’s back its for a long period of time. She has earned the right to come and go and much as she wants. People in her position do it all the time. It’s creating a problem because of the storyline. If it were written differently there wouldn’t be one
I like Jason Thompson as an actor. I think he is pretty talented. I have never liked the character Patrick, other than a few brief moments with Emma. I kinda like Kelly Monaco (thought she was engaging on “Dirty Soap”) but I’ve never really liked the character Sam much, except when she is in scenes with family members. So SamTrick doesn’t work for me and I FF through pretty much all their scenes. I did enjoy them as friends, though. Don’t even get me started on Patrina…hope Sabrina is gone for good. I like Robin just fine, but I think Patrick should be allowed some REAL closure so he can move on. Right now he just looks like a huge Dbag to me.

Patrick and Sam have no chemistry. They were better as friends. I prefer Patrick with Robin, Sabrina or bring on someone new.

I’m loving the chemistry between Patrick and Sam. It feels very natural. I think I’ll probably want Sam back with Jason at some point, and KM does have great chemistry with BM, but I’m going to enjoy Samtrick while I’ve got them.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if the writers would truly mix things up. For instance put Patrick with – oh I don’t knowwwwww, Carly! When Jake/Jason is released from his mind control allow him to regain his memory from when he was a Q. Let him renounce the whole mob enforcer life style. Let Helena die. I mean the actress who portrays her has to be pushing 100 (no offense -she looks great). This show has soooo many characters and writers who dont know how to write properly. They underestimate and devalue the attention span and intelligence of its’ target audience. We are starving to be “taken on a ride” but they just don’t know how to make those adjustments and deliver a better product. I have had to “suspend belief” in order to watch this show and I’m just about ready to toss in the towel. I can only dummy myself down for just so long and wishing, unfortunately doesn’t change a thing.
