General Hospital’s Sofia Mattsson Reveals Pregnancy
Well, the cat is out of the bag, sort of speak. GH’s Sofia Mattsson (Sasha) took to her Instagram to finally reveal that she is pregnant in real-life!
That comes on the heels of General Hospital fans watching the story unfold on-screen where Sasha learned she was pregnant with Brando’s (Johnny Wactor) child.
Mattsson shared a photo of herself with her baby bump expressing: “BIG things happening!! 🙈 So happy and excited to finally share this (almost ready to pop) bump with everyone!! 🥰❤️.Kept it a secret for a while to not spoil anything for GH viewers, but now that miss Sasha Gilmore’s pregnancy is in full force I can finally share that I’m so grateful to be sharing this pregnancy journey with her! ❤️”
Sofia is married to actor Thomas Payton. This is the couple’s first child.
So, share your congrats to Sofia and Thomas for their baby on the way via the comment section below.

First, Congrats and Best Wishes to Sofia and Thomas. I really like Sasha now and find her heroic in many ways. Sofia is a terrific actress and meshes well with the other actors/characters especially Chase, Willow, Michael, Nina, and even Cyrus. I look forward to seeing what’s next for her…besides Gladys’ selfish machinations. Talk about a monster-in-law!
Congrats to Sofia and Thomas on your pregnancy. Sofia you will be missed while you’re away – take your time and enjoy your new arrival soon. I kinda figured she was maybe pregnant. Sasha seemed to be showing rather quickly after doing it with Brando. Love Brando and Sasha together…. I hope GH can make them work, and be a new super couple on the show. Much luck and best wishes to you Sofia and Thomas.
Congratulations! This actress has really improved, and in accordance, Sasha has really grown on me. There is just an inherent sense of sweetness, genuineness, and humility which breathes through her character. I’ll take Sasha over that phony, insincere, poser, Willow. I love Brando and Sasha together but Michael and Willow? Suffice to say, Millow makes me Ill- low.
Thank you, Harry. I’m so tired of Michael getting all these women, when Chase is a far better person. Not to mention far more attractive. At least Chase isn’t a typical Corinthos hypocrite. I hate what they’ve done to Willow.
Soaphound, also Harry, SuOOO
Seems like we all agree on this Willow, Michael, Chase fiasco. They should have told Chase about Willow and Michael’s re-newed love, it certainly wouldn’t have killed him back then, but now we also all know that when Finn saves his life as we know now he will, Chase will believe it was all Willow’s love that did it. My God, it’s so predictable. Don’t get me started on Abby and her custom made baby and missing husband, yuk!!
Harry…I really like Willow, have since day one for the same reasons you like Sasha…who I also like. But add her integrity, caring for others, fighting for Wiley, and how she has stood up for herself in a quiet way compared to other ladies in GH since taking on Valentine and Nina when in defence of a student being bullied by their daughter when she was teaching.
Hey Rose! I agree with you. Willow was my favorite new character. The actress is damn good too. I loved her as the dedicated school teacher who was fighting to get her life back after suffering the tragic loss of her baby and her traumatic past with the sexually abusive cult leader Shiloh. And I really, really liked her with Chase. But her coupling with Michael is kind of nauseating to me. It didn’t help that the writers had to constantly have Willow remark on the power of Michael’s sexual prowess. I find Michael to be an incredibly dull character who is played by a lackluster actor. Now, with Willow being all self- sacrificial in marrying an apparently dying Chase, her complexity has been forfeited. And now she’s coming off as an uninteresting Disney Princess. I’ve never cared for Disney princesses.
Harry…I don’t mind Michael, but I think he was better with Sasha. But that boat has sailed. Now I like her better with Brando. But his mom is going to be an expected soap problem. Another thing about Michael I don’t like is how he can be the sooo honorable Q, but at the same time seems okay with Sonny’s business. Big contradiction that even showed up again in his recent conversation with Carly about her holding the Corinthos business together until Jason can take over. But don’t let me get started on that. And I never would want to be a princess, Disney or other.
You too, Harry?
Hi Nancy! Let’s put Willow back in the classroom and back with Chase. Michael is the kids of death for this character.
I knew something was off–
The baby bump is way too big for her GH pregnancy.
And the pregnancy story was noticeably rushed, not a lot of sense to it-
And–
Too many dumb baby stories going on-
Maxie’s story seems to have the most oomph to it-
The barf-bag story is Y&R Abby– that story is sickening.
Y&R supposedly the #1 soap and that’s the best they have to offer, sigh.
((worse than the music box story lol))
Congrats to Sofia and Thomas !
You mean Abby and her invisible husband? I fully expect the Y&R’s casting department to purchase a male mannequin so we can watch Abby make out with it. That’s how bizarre, and yet dull, this whole storyline is. I fast forward through the Abby scenes.
I’m with you here, Su000. Other than some token scenes with Nina, the Abby story is unbearable and feels like it’s gone on longer than four pregnancies! Maxie’s tale (along with some BRILLIANT acting) is far more compelling.
I haven’t watched the soaps for as long as both of you- but
Abby’s baby story has to be the worst/fail soap story ever.
It’s total roadkill..
beyond stupid- it’s a brain bleed.
The writers of that story are chin deep in embarrassment and shame.
(((( It’s worse than Plan 9 from Outer Space LOL
I luv that movi e it’s so horribly bad that it’s totally Awesome! lol
but Abby’s baby story is 100% junk))))
Yay, Su000, I also LOVVVE “PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE”, such delightful fun! My favorite bits are the changes in night and day in the same scene. And Bela Lugosi’s “replacement double” is priceless. How about that makeshift shower curtain in the airplane cockpit? I also get a laugh when I watch “NORMA RAE”, one of my FAVORITE films, and see Gregory Walcott as Sheriff Lamar arresting Sally Field. What fun memories he must have had!
Bah ha ha ha! Soap hound! I see what you did there.
I also think between the three soaps there are too many baby stories going on. With Abby and Chance being the most boring. Sorta feel sorry for Abby starting with the Chance actor having to be switched around, to having a happy marriage but not able to have a baby, to Chance leaving right after the honeymoon and all of the filler space in between.
Congrats. Very happy news.
Best wishes for you, hubby and new baby.I am loving the SL with Sasha and Brando but we know Gladys will be the mother-in-law from hell. I thought Brando was good at reading his mother, but since she got shot, he’s kind of softened towards her.
You got that right, Violet? Did you see that look Gladys gave? She is a snake in the grass, all right!

Chris McKenna Speaks Out On His Final Day as ‘General Hospital’s’ Jack Brennan with Words of Wisdom to ‘Finish Strong’

When Jack Brennan was found dead and floating in the Metro Court pool on the September 1 episode of General Hospital, it unfortunately meant the end of the road for Chris L. McKenna, who had returned to the soaps to play the WSB Port Charles Bureau Chief.
As with any death on the soaps, and a litany of subjects in this whodunit, Brennan’s death opened the door to more story, as fans are still grappling with the decision to kill off the character.
The bittersweet exit was not the first time Chris had been written out of a soap. On The Young and the Restless, Chris played detective Mark Harding from 2014-2015, who ended up dead, and guess who was in that scene? None other than GH’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) when he was over at the CBS soap opera taking on the role of Dylan McAvoy.
Now. on an all-new episode of the That’s Awesome podcast with Burton and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli, GH) released on Friday, September 18, the duo welcomed Chris McKenna direct from Clearwater, Florida.

MAKING SURE PAIGE HERSCHELL WAS OK
During the conversation, Chris explained how his last day went and how he went about lifting the spirits of the GH cast and crew with very special attention to Paige Herschell (ex-Jacinda Bracken).
McKenna shared how he knew for a bit about his departure, before the rest of the cast knew he was exiting the show, explaining. “I had time to process it. It had been a surprise to many, to me, and to many people in the building when it first happened. But by this point, Paige Herschell found out at the same time that she wasn’t going to be coming back. She had her last day, the day before mine.”
“Paige hadn’t been through this before. I had,” shared the soap vet. “I had a show that was on the air and it was in primetime, and then it got canceled. I thought it was devastating, and that I was never going to work again. So, this has happened so many times to me (throughout my career), that I don’t get rattled anymore by it.”

WHEN YOU GET BAD NEWS …
McKenna said he wanted to go out on a high note: “It was important to me to make sure, first of all, everybody else felt comfortable because everybody felt bad and felt sad and felt upset. I was like, ‘It’s fine. We’re okay. I’m going to be fine. So, let’s make sure everyone’s okay.'”
Out of concern for his exiting co-star, Chris recalled, “I wanted to make sure that Paige got her flowers, and she had her attention and got her send off appropriately. I wanted to make sure I hugged her and told her to finish strong. It it was important to me, and also I was working with the kids (Scarlett, Danny). I try to be a mentor to some of the younger actors as well.”
LEAVING PORT CHARLES
The message Chris wanted to impart before he left the GH studios for the last time was, “I’ve been doing this so long, so I wanted to show them how to handle it. When you get bad news, it doesn’t have to devastate you, and it’s not the end of the world, and to make sure everybody’s laughing and having fun. I tried to make the the last day fun for everybody else, so that everybody could enjoy it with me.”

‘General Hospital’ Casts Australian-Born Wil Traval as the Mysterious Jude

General Hospital is welcoming yet another new face to the canvas when Australia native Wil Traval join the cast as a mysterious stranger named Jude, who will arrive in Port Charles come October.
Traval becomes the second new Australian-born actor to join the cast. It was back on July 13, that GH viewers first saw Dean Geyer in the role of Dr. Tristan Roberts, whose name is an homage to the late Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio, GH). Could Jude and Tristan be related?
If not that theory, might Jude join the mystery involving JJE (Jasper Jacks Enterprises), which is currently under the investigation by the WSB? Since Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) father, Jasper Jacks, is from down under, could Jude be connected business-wise or otherwise, to the mysterious Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel) who came to Port Charles with several agendas?

FROM DOWN UNDER TO PORT CHARLES
Traval is a native of Victoria, Australia, who had a recurring role in Season 3 of The CW’s Dynasty. In the primetime soap reboot, Traval played Father Caleb Collins, whose faith was put to the test when he developed feeling for Cristal Carrington (Daniella Alonso).
The GH newcomer is no newcomer to TV and film roles with an extensive credits including: Netflix’s Messiah and Jessica Jones, ABC’s Red Widow and Grey’s Anatomy, Arrow, Chicago P.D., Grimm and Once Upon a Time, to name but a few.
In his homeland of Australia, Traval is best known for portraying Dr. Jack Quade in the medical drama All Saints, and Detective Peter Church in the crime drama White Collar Blue.
So far in the last couple of months, General Hospital had brought on the following casting additions, the aforementioned Geyer and Appel, plus Kayden Brenna Tokarski (Scout Cain), Kelly Kruger (Serena Baldwin), Alimi Ballard (William Baines), Kearran Giovanni (Dr. Nichols) and Blythe Howard, who will debut next week on the Wednesday, September 23 episode as Monet.
So, with all the newbies hitting the screens on GH, is hard for you to keep up, or are you excited to see how Jude fits into the storyline with the arrival of Wil Traval this fall? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: The WSB Extradites Nina After Drew Frames Her for Jack’s Disappearance

It was not a good day on the Thursday, September 17 episode of General Hospital for Nina Reeves. However, while it was not a good day for Nina, it was a good day for GH fans because of the performance (as per usual) of Daytime Emmy winner, Cynthia Watros who is at the epicenter of this leg of the story.
In story, Nina has been dragged down to the PCPD and Agent Baines (Alimi Ballard) shows Nina, and her now lawyer, Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), evidence of Jack (Chris McKenna) Brennan’s wallet found in Nina’s car. Baines says he has enough evidence to extradite Nina immediately.
Nina loses it and fumes and cries. Baines instructs Ric to get his client to cooperate before heading into the squad room to tell Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) that Nina would be transferred to a WSB facility. Now alone with Ric, Nina tells him she is being framed. She did nothing to Jack other than have a public argument with him. Ric asks her if she can think of anyone who would frame her for Jack’s disappearance or possible murder?
After not giving Ric any thoughts as to who could be framing her, Baines returned and informs Nina she is being extradited and taken into WSB custody immediately. Just as a frantic Nina is being carted away, Ava (Maura West) has shown up at the police station and witnessed the whole thing.

AVA LEARNS EXACTLY WHAT NINA AND WILLOW DID TO DREW
Earlier in the episode, Ava got a mouthful from Drew (Cameron Mathison). He informed her that Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Nina drugged him for months with a paralytic drug and he never had a stroke. He also informed her Willow shot him.
Ava was not surprised about Willow shooting him in the back. However, Drew told Ava that Nina tried to kill him when she pushed him into the water at the Quartermaine boathouse while he was locked in his wheelchair.
Drew admits to framing Nina with Brennan’s wallet, although Ava is upset because Nina is her friend. He then reminds Ava that Nina also gave her drugs, induced labor and stole her baby. Ava says Nina is a very different person now than she was then. A vengeful Drew wants Nina to suffer after all she did to him, plus he has a plan for taking down Willow next.
So, what do you think of Nina being taken into custody by the WSB? How will she get out of the new hell she is in? Do you think Ava will help her friend, or continue to help Drew because of their alliance to take down Sonny? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
