Genie Francis, Tony Geary & Emma Samms In Summer Scorcher Promo From General Hospital!

Courtesy/ABC
ABC has released a brand new General Hospital promo for this week and this summer; teasing the return of familiar faces and some brand new secrets!
The highly anticipated return of GH icon Genie Francis (Laura) kicks-off this Friday on the June 5th episode of the daytime drama series, and from the looks of it she is involved in some high stakes drama as Laura has a gun in tow in a scene with her former husband and partner Luke Spencer (Tony Geary)! And then there is a the reveal of Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) holding a gun too! How does this all dovetail into Tony Geary’s exit storyline that will play out for the next few months on-air?
Then, there is the continued conspiring and secrets between Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) and Rosalie (Linda Elena Tovar) and Nikolas and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), plus what is Lulu (Emme Rylan) so shocked about in her conversation with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna)?
Watch the exciting promo after the jump, and let us know what you think will happen with the big returns … and what are the big new secrets?
I don’t like the fact that GH wants to try and break up Dante and Lulu. I am not the only fan that is unhappy and I wish the word would get to Rom C
I’m not feeling this either : Valerie….
she doesn’t have a lot of presence as it is… the camera does not love her
it seems to me… the writers are fettering out her character to see where she flies best… and that’s Dante or Nikolas
she doesn’t seem like a strong enough character
the one that ooh la la ‘ed me out yesterday… was the beautiful Rosalie !
yes, Patrick – that’s exactly it, the camera just doesn’t love the actress who plays Valerie.
As for Elena Tova? who plays Rosalie, it still boggles my mind why she was never put on contract. This actress is skilled, she’s just that good. I hope she’s in scenes with Michelle Stafford once again. She is brilliant and I hope GH, smartens up, and offers her a contract. We just lost the brilliant actor who played Carlos, he was just recurring, too.
As for Valerie, I hope her story concludes soon and she departs before Luke. The character didn’t take off. Hopefully, Dante & Lulu remain intact. I don’t see an affair happening between Valerie and Dante, I think the promo teaser, is just that… a teaser.
GH, bring Rosalie to the fore-front and sign her up!!!
I’m willing to give Val a chance. I disagree, the camera loves her! She is beautiful. Dante and Lulu are like watching paint dry, break them up!
Timmm, I agrree with you!
I agree with you , Patrick and Jeremy. Valerie is far from beautiful, (sorry Timmm). Beauty comes in many shades. The first time I saw her, she was pretty; no stunner, though. But, now? There is nothing there. She has no personality…she’s actually very annoying. Sometimes looks,or lack thereof, mean nothing. It depends if the physical appearance is accompanied by an effervescent personality.
The first thing that someone notices and is attracted to is someone’s good looks. But, if said someone’s personality is shot, then she/he becomes a bore.
Well put, Patrick, Jeremy and especially, CeeCee!….”Val-Chops” is giving me that dreaded feeling of deja-vu from what I first experienced with Sappy….a truly boring and unnecessary miss just taking up space for no good reason. How many more times must we go through this? I cannot understand why it is so difficult to find young actresses that are both attractive and engaging….the show runners struck gold with KT’s Britt…she was an absolute dynamo, and yet, they let her get away whilst stubbornly clinging to the Sapster and now Val-Chops. It rather beggars belief…..Britt needs to be brought back at all cost!!!! Her magic cannot be replicated, not even by “Grossalie,” despite the fact that you two guys seem to be smitten with her character’s wicked ways.
I agree with you Janet they can’t seam to let couples stay together they always have to break them up
Lulu needs to have big brother Nik put a hit out on cousin Val……with Luke departing, Nik and Lulu need to take over oldies but goodies Helene and Luke’s badarse department!!!
ehh!!
I luv the heat in Nicholas’s eyes!!
He no longer has his normal wounded puppy eyes, now they’re on fire!!
((Now that my bad boy Carlos is gone Nik is now my new bad boy 😉 grrrrrrrrr !
Looks like Luke is gonna have hell to pay ! 000hh00hh !! (duck and cover !!!
I’m excited to get this show on the road!!
Afraid it won’t be much of a show if the returns are only short-term. Probable just the old “god in the machine’ trick!
I don’t know…. (now) that Sloane told Anna… about Nikolas involvement in the riggged election !!!!!
dang it all …. does this mean that Anna is going after Nikolas… or
Nikolas with all his connections from a higher up… keep Anna at bay?
I don’t want this to bring “our” Nikolas CASSADINE down! he’s Too good
as thee man showing his machisomo cajones with dark side … let him be all powerful… he’s riveting this way
The real Nikolas will be back, Patrick! No worries…LOL.
Why all of the guns all of the time in GH, and not just the criminals? Now it’s Holly and Laura as part of the Luke/Tony farewell tour. I’m so damn sick of how guns have infiltrated everyday real life…this is the last thing I watch soaps for. This promo totally turns me off.
yeah…. ugh… me too… am sick of this
it’s the last gunslinger escapade for Luke and his starlets ? LOL
I didn’t mind seeing Holly… but why oh why do they denigrate Laura…
she’s a powerful woman ! LOL OK that’s how the audience would like to see her
a mature powerful woman making choices on her own…
Sick of the mob, Sonny, murder, guns, etc., on GH. I FF my DVR all the time now. Soon, I will get tired of even watching.
I don’ know… 4 senseless “let go’s”
Ava shot Connie
Sonny shot AJ
Anna shot Carlos
Carlos shot Duke
the list is endless… 6 degrees of separation… etc
LOL… I don’t know about you… but i’d be enjoying GH that much more … if Connie, AJ, Carlos, and Duke, …. plus Britta, and Ned, were still lively denizens of PC
I watch 2 of 4… it’s all relative
I know Laura looked like she was an FBI agent!
I think it would be funny if Laura said to Holly,”OH you English think you’re so superior. Well, just think where you’d be without us Americans. You would be eating frankfurters and be speaking German!”
LOL…Laura and Holly…YOU TWO OLD BROADS PUT THOSE GUNS DOWN…like a LifeTime movie…GRANDMAS GONE WILD…LOL
Su…get help. I am from Canada. We have health care here. Get some! I will pay!
Aden, you’re hilarious.
Whenever the courtesy clerk asks me if I need help, I always respond, ‘Yes, psychological.’
That’s priceless, Harry, but alas, many of the clerks probably need it far more than you ever could. Case in point: A few weeks ago, I went into a popular local (chain) drugstore to purchase some giftcards. As the cashier rang up my purchase, she let out a huge sneeze and proceeded to spray said cards with God only knows what kind of germs, not expending any effort whatsoever to cover her mouth or shield my merchandise. I simply stared silent daggers at her, causing her to comment, “I’m finished now,” to which I replied, “So am I.” I turned on my heel and walked out of the store without completing the transaction, and I shan’t be going back again!
Shay, that courtesy clerk must have been raised under a rock!
If I might be indulged in conveying another pet peeve, I am so tired of folks using the grocery store isle to have very LOUD conversations on their cell phones. I really do not want to hear the mundane private details of their lives and yet they look at me with irritation as IF I am trying to eavesdrop when all I want to do is grab a carton of 2 % Milk.
Now,to make this GH related–which GH characters do you think are most liable to be blabbing loudly on their phones while in a public place? I say Maxie and she’d be utilizing that annoying vocal fry.
Yes, Harry, along with far too many other clueless ones in the current public service sector! I forgot to add that after I witheringly stared down said clerk, she just looked back at me in an utterly glazed over, deer-in-the-headlights manner before announcing her sneezing fit was dunzo. Sorry, but people contaminating any of my purchases with their germs is just a major no-no in my book, and when it involves foodstuffs, it especially drives me around the bend. (Etiquette 101, folks! LOL.) As for your GH query, I would choose the annoyance called nuKiki and/or Nina the Nutter for my TMI cellphone chatters, although I cannot imagine who would even want to speak with the CrayClay ( except Franco?) and hear her latest babbling tangent on how much so-called physical contact she is sharing with her new hubby….however, she does seem ever so enchanted with all the newfangled technology she has discovered since she emerged from her “big sleep,” so, yeah, I’ll definitely vote for Nina.
It’s sad to see Tony leaving 🙁 It is great to see Nic like this! why do they get rid of Classic Actors and keep 2 that should not be a part of G.H ??
I wish they could bring back Liz Taylor as a hologram of sorts, but they have another Helena…meaning, seriously, they are bringing out the big guns (no pun) for Luke’s exit/Geary’s retirement…I do love the return of Laura and Holly, both Ms. Francis and Ms. Samms have a similar type of grounded class, I hope they are portrayed in a very posh yet down-to-earth storyline…and I just know that somehow,Tony Geary will see to it!
All the women on GH look ready to do battle.. Laura, Holly, & Luke can’t wait.
Looking forward to GH every day!
love emma and genie packing heat, now those two know how to hold a gun! can’t wait to see what thats all about. looks like its going to be a hot summer on GH.
Team Laura! Although, I am thrilled Emma Samms is a making a couple of cameos, I always thought Holly was a whiny, manipulative little grifter.
Laura looks fabulous.
Who is “Rom C?”
Ron C. is the head writer.
Run DMC
Yes, Ron. C is the head writer.
I asked who RoM C. was.
*sarcasm*
I don’t like Jake aka Jason being with Elizabeth, this storyline has taken to long for the truth to come out. I am disapointed
Genie Francis, Emma Samms and Tony Geary together again…I can’t wait! Tristan Rodgers hasn’t been seen in Genoa City in months. I thought he had a contract with Y&R, but he is MIA. Adding TR to the mix would be all kinds of awesome!
I agree Robert should have a part, Luke and Robert are BFF
I’d love to see Robert (Tristan Rogers) come back and trade zingers with Tony Geary–if Luke can get up the energy–Tony Geary seems totally drained after all those horrid, over-the-top histrionics he displayed as the so-called “Fluke” character.
Remember he won the Tony for that !!!!????
But I’d surely like to see the Tony Geary I know and love–humorous yet tender–and with a moral center–JUST ONCE BEFORE HE FADES INTO THE SUNSET.
CBS worked with NBC in regards to Eileen Davidson. You never know, Tristan could make a surprise appearance?
That wasn’t difficult. Even though they’re on different networks, DAYS and Y&R are both Sony soaps.
Unfortunately for the fans it seems Y&R and GH have been embroiled in a “casting coup” war. Maybe that has died down a bit and they would consider sharing like good boys and girls. Fans seem to suffer to TPTB egos.
I have supported Valentini/Carlivati as they remade and saved GH; but they have really lost their way in the last year. I’m sad about that. Carlivati’s premise behind most stories is to take the action and characters to the Nth degree, to unbelievable, and irreparable places, then tell story around backing out, or undoing the action previously taken. The Ava story is a perfect example. He had her kill babies and adults and commit other heinous crimes until she had to be segregated from the rest of the canvas when all along the most gripping aspect of her story was her Mrs. Robinson relationship with Morgan which was completely sacrificed for all the violence nonsense. Ditto for Nina, Franco, Sonny, Sabrina, Luke and a host of other (mostly) formerly interesting characters. The contrivances overwhelm the characters and become the only thing to notice on the screen. Who wants to have that experience five days a week? Who wants to see Laura return to save Luke from more violence. She did that on the boat with Helena who was then brought back from the dead. I hate to say this because I know Ron is passionate about soaps, but he needs a sabbatical. And don’t get me started on Ana’s recent story developments with Duke, Carlos and Sloan.. which has to be Ron’s biggest failure to date on this show. This entire storyline must be undone somehow and Grayson needs to go. The show needs to make a 180 degree turn and tell story around characters who haven’t been completely ruined by plot over the last year or two. On the other hand, the production, costumes and acting are top notch. Just need to marry good story with the rest and you’d have rising ratings.
I agree with you! I have loved this show for 25 years! Devoted fan. Now I go for a week and just think it is too ridiculous to enjoy. Ava is so great! Now what the heck is going on with “Denise”- dumb!
I want to have a couple to root for, a couple who is in love and it is so fun and passionate. All these dumb adventures make the characters we have loved and known look stupid and unlike themselves. How long do we have to wait for jake to know he is Jason? Why can’t Carly and Sonny actually be together? Sam and Patrick were cute at first and then they moved in together and its been weak. There are so many different stories going and so many characters that you get lost and forget who has what storyline. Nina and Franco have great chemistry, and now she is married to Rick! We didn’t see that coming and its so unbelievable.
I hope the summer is entertaining and not absurd with the Holly and Laura. I am hopeful for a profound, memorable send off for Luke…
Have to agree with about 98% of what you say Red, but unfortunately there is extremely little story to tell at this point if it has to revolve only around characters that haven’t been ruined by off the rails plots over the last two years. Who in your mind would that even include?
Also I agree with Li in that I SO hope the summer does not turn into a cartoon with Laura and Holly to see Luke off.
Red, I’ve never heard it quite like that before but “Remade” is accurate. You made some really good points. I hate how Anna slept with “The Chin” three days after she laid Duke to rest. UnCHARACTERistic!
Maybe if they bring back the old luke/laura/emma/scorpio adventure TG will be inspired by the magic to stay on board a while..well, one can always hope..
Why is everyone so impatient. Stories take time to tell and a quick payoff is just about as disappointing as a guy in bed offering the same. I look forward to what Mr Carlivati has in store. He has made me a fan with his style of writing and broad sense of humor. I have to say that I don’t buy the transformation of Nikolas into Mr Bad Guy but hey he is worth looking at in any characterization. So go to town Nikolas, but please do it minimally dressed. =)
I agree Mateo BUT Jakeson for example, its gone on too long. Its not like they dont have many other stories to tell after the big reveal. And yes, I agree, if your going for the quick pay-off, there better be a good breakfast with mimosa’s!
I agree, Timmm. I am generally not an impatient person, but, I think everyone’s patience is waning as we speak.
The Fluke failure completely mutilated my patience. Now, I am still waiting, not only for Jake to find his rightful place in PC, but also for Nina to get out of the depth and swim to shore.
Oh, BTW, Mateo? Don’t underestimate a quickie…LOL.
Agreed this storyline is like a long drawn out sentence… When TPTB
originally recast the role of JASON, I’d made peace with the knowledge
that Steve B. wouldn’t be returning to GH. FV should have worked a
little more diligently at keeping Steve around, it started out by Steve
wanting additional time off so he could spend a good amount of un-
interrupted time with his family in TN. Work for 2-3 weeks straight, w/
equal consecutive time off… Everyone on GH is currently working
that schedule, where was the hardship there?? Finally playing the same
character for 21 years left him wanting more, couldn’t they have typed
up something quite dramatic after Faison shot him. They should have
allowed him to take a looooong vacation… Then reintroduce him much
like JAKE, no memory of the life he had once lead… Head trauma
revisited, maybe in reverse. Now Billy is Jason although he doesn’t
feel like Jason, he’s simply Jake.
Cant Wait 😉
I am excited about the love triangles, let’s get Nicholas a good match, someone that’s a Spit fire, and match for him. And get Liz out of the picture. Sit her in a corner by herself somewhere.
I liked him with Hayden, it was kind of crazy but fun!
Him and Hayden and bring Britt back for the triangle!
I did too. Rebecca is an excellent actress and I warmed up to her quickly. Unlike Valarie Don’t trust her, and Lulu has every reason to worry
This is gonna be awesome! Not here to complain about writers or producers I’m here to comment on how awesome it is to see the three of these legacy characters doing some of what they’ve always done best. HIGH STATES ACTION ADVENTURE DRAMA! LAURA COULD BE COMMISONER.
Everyone wants Laura to straighten Nick out BUT what if Laura is in cahoots with Nick to take over ELQ? Silly? No more sillier than her toting a gun. What the hell happened at her check-up!
Well, Timm, we have to wait and see that scene in context. Remember Laura wearing a pink ball gown while holding the huge machine gun during the Cassadine freeze operation? Did she say,”Say hello to my little friend!”? I cannot remember.
And I like the idea of Laura running ELQ with Nikolas while butting heads with Traci.
That’s a great idea.
Cannot wait to see Holly…hope Robert is with her!
Love Holly. Hope Robert is with her!
Well wouldn’t it be a great twist and really great intro for Laura’s return to Port Charles, if SHE has been off working with WSB all this time, and kicking ass Herself. She could have been working along with Lucky and Ethan, and having HER OWN adventures chasing criminals working in the WSB herself.. She and the Guys, could have been helping out Frisco and Scorpio. This would keep Laura in town after Luke, Lucky, Ethan, and Holly are off again, as an Agent, like Anna She would have that job, while still OUR LAURA, who is in some way tied to everybody in PC whether by blood or a previous marriage or several thru the years… They could all originally have come to Port Charles tracking the bad guys, schemers and Conmen and Women, like Helena and the Cassadines, perhaps Laura and the boys have arrived chasing Holly on one of Her Cons, and of course while Laura opts to stay in Port Charles because Her family DOES need her to stay put. Lucky and Ethan of course would only be in PC temporarily, and finally Luke could exit the canvas to go off working in the WSB with His Sons and old Friends, or on some type of intrigue of scheme with Holly and Helena. Michael this would be a great type of giant umbrella storyline drawing from the GH history and large crop on Iconic Characters, who would future brief stints and reasons for appearing in town at any time and as part of any type of potential storylines that Ron Carlivati and crew want to do.
I saw the preview of Laura entering the Haunted Stars and Luke was so surprise as I was….
While I cannot say it doesn’t make any difference who writes the stories, I don’t think everyone thinks the same thing about any writer. I have complained about writers having some characters do some things they have had happen, but no matter who writes, good, or bad, there will be people who don’t care for the writing. I just hope the few soaps left can persevere through some of the writing.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
