Things are looking up and the future extremely bright for one of daytime’s favorite young actresses, General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms.  Her performances as Maxie Jones have had viewers laughing, sometimes shedding a tear, and always wondering what this bundle of energy is going to do next.  Well now with new GH head writer, Garin Wolf starting to give life back to some of Port Charles’ favorite characters, who at times were dropped by the wayside, you can plan on seeing more Maxie and her adventures (romantic and business-wise and otherwise) unfold!

Add to that, the just announced new reality series on E! Entertainment Television which features Kirsten, along with her castmate, Kelly Monaco, Days of our Lives, Galen Gering and Nadia Bjorlin and One Life to Live’s Farah Fath and John-Paul Lavoisier, and the show titled Dirty Soap looks to be a hoot and half with a look into the off-camera lives of Kirsten and company.

We caught with Kirsten at the General Hospital Fan Club Weekend Main Event to get some scoop on her new show, what is up with Maxie and her troubled love life, plus her thoughts on the state of GH and soaps moving online.

The reality show, Dirty Soap, tell me kind of the concept and what is going down? I love the idea that there is a reality show focusing on the lives of young soapy gal and guy performers!

KIRSTEN: I can’t reveal too much, but I can tell you that I have really enjoyed hanging out with Kelly Monaco (Sam).  And what I have learned about her is: that she really does not have a sensor as far as the things that she says which at first would catch me a little off guard. However, Kelly is trying to show me that I can be like that too and not to be so uptight while the cameras are rolling, and even when I am doing an interview worrying how the interviewer is going to respond to what I say. She would say, “Don’t worry about it.  Just be yourself.”

Well Kelly is very free and open.  I mean, I have heard and read reports that she likes to be, or is most comfortable, being naked most of the time!

KIRSTEN: Yes, that is so true. But she will not get me to that point! (Laughs) And, her hot little house is like a fortress… so she has the privacy where she can be naked, too. (Laughs)

Now that Garin Wolf is head writing General Hospital, do you see a shift in the scripts? And, how do you think the change at the top will affect Maxie?

KIRSTEN: Number one, I am working more which is a definite change and our scenes have gotten longer, and they are not as confusing as they were. So it is a little more work for us as far as the dialog memorization, but Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Julie Marie Berman (Lulu) and I were talking about it the other day.  We had group scenes together and it just flowed. The dialog made sense and it was easy to remember, because it makes sense.  I am just excited to get back to storylines that the fans really loved.

And what do you think are the storylines that the fans really loved?

KIRSTEN: Well for me personally, they are bringing the Spixie stuff back, and I think a lot of fans also want to see that, even if it’s a love triangle with Jason Cook’s character of Matt. I don’t want the M&M fans to think I am hating on them or anything! (Laughs) Oh you don’t know! If I tweet that I had a photo shoot with Bradford Anderson, I will get tweets form the M&M fans saying, “You don’t care about Jason Cook!” All I said was, “I am taking pictures with Bradford.”  Those fan groups…I love their loyalty, and I don’t hate on either of one of them.  I am Equal Opportunity Maxie – gettin’ some! (Laughs)

Don’t you think they should have married Maxie and Spinelli at their non-wedding? It sort of happened, and then it felt just dropped!  I thought the two characters really loved each other, so it seems somewhat confusing.

KIRSTEN: I don’t think they should have necessarily gotten married, but I do think they should have talked about it. Recently after Spinelli was shot, Maxie had those scenes on the roof with Dante, where she would say that Spinelli always tried to put himself in danger for her and that is why she had to let him go. She felt he was trying to be somebody that he felt that Maxie wanted, and that was not the case. He was constantly putting himself in danger for her. So she needed to tell him, “I don’t want to be with you.” And then hope he would be fine. I was like, “Why could we not have these scenes twelve months ago, after the wedding?” Then, they stop having us in scenes together.  It sucks it did not get wrapped up back then, but I can tell you that they are going to now go back to a lot of their lingering feelings. I do think there is hope for the Spixie fans! I don’t think I could handle a new man in her life, not another one! (Laugh) It’s hard enough juggling Spinelli and Matt! (Laughs)

What do you think about the decision to recast the character of Kate Howard?

KIRSTEN: I have not met Kelly Sullivan yet, and I had heard they were going to be recasting Kate. Obviously, I adored working with Megan Ward (ex-Kate), and I don’t know what transpired there or what that whole situation was about.  But, as far as having Kate back on GH, I am excited for that because Maxie is at Crimson all by herself!

Is Maxie running Crimson these days? (Laughs)

KIRSTEN: Well, I don’t know! We barely even talk about work stuff. Every time we are in the Crimson set, we are talking about something else, and I am just running around filing stuff and printing things out.  We never get into: a young woman having such a high demanding job, which I know what that is like, kind of.  So I am excited that now they are going to get into that a little more.

Do you feel like a true soap veteran at this point in your career?  I remember so clearly sitting with you and your mom at your first day on the set at Days of our Lives. And it kind of puts a smile on my face that I have actually known you since the beginning of it all.

KIRSTEN: I have been working on soaps for almost twelve years.  I have pictures from my first few days at DAYS, and it is so crazy to think about, but all of it is just so special to me.

When you see what has happened to the state of the soap industry with OLTL and AMC being canceled and then moving them online, how would you feel if GH eventually goes online too? Would that be something you would entertain…to continue to play Maxie on the web?

KIRSTEN: I think there are a couple of things: first, with the shows being taken off the air that is just sad to me.  I got into the soaps because I grew up watching them. My mom was a huge B&B fan! I think when I was about ten my mom let me start watching it with her. I got so into with Brooke and Ridge, and I can even remember the storylines that they would have.  So to know that soaps are dying and going off the air is very sad to me. Now, would I be interested in doing General Hospital if it were to move online? Absolutely!  I watch tons of television online and I bring my computer everywhere I go. I have Wi-Fi, and you can browse websites, and so everything in multi-media is heading now to the web.  I think one thing that needs to be worked out now is the union rules. That will make the actors want to do this more. Because it is so new, there are not a lot of rules that protect people that want to move forward and do those shows.  So I think that is one of the issues that are holding the actors back from staying with OLTL and AMC when the show goes online.  Hopefully, they can iron all this out.

Were you at all concerned when you heard that in September 2012 Katie Couric was getting GH’s timeslot? You think if ABC could pull their other two daytime dramas, it causes me concern for GH and it is disconcerting, even though the network keeps reiterating that General Hospital is their flagship soap.

KIRSTEN: Personally, I have no interest on watching a new show in the middle of the day. I watch my news and then I go to work. It will be interesting to see if the people that are home and that turn their TV’s on; if a Katie Couric talk show is something that they want to see.  Personally, that would not be me.  As far as GH’s staying power, it does not make me nervous because the network is going to do what they are going to do, and the decisions they make are solely about money. So it is not about what they think the fans are going to be happiest with, unfortunately, which is why we are encouraging the fans on Twitter to call-in and send letters to let the networks know that fans are still out there wanting to watch soaps.

For Maxie, through now into the fall, what do you think viewers can expect to see?

KIRSTEN: A lot of the Spinelli stuff is going to be worked out over the coming months. Hopefully, the Jackal PI disappears and Spinelli comes back! That would be so nice. I feel so bad for Bradford, because the dialog is so intense. Sometimes when we leave work I will still have his PI accent in my head going, “Sugar Pants”. (Laughs) For Bradford, I am hoping it will work itself out soon.

If you go to Garin Wolf and could say, “This is what I want to do as Maxie, and this is the story I want to play,” what would it be?

KIRSTEN: I would like a fantasy episode where Maxie goes around town making out with whatever guy she thinks is hot. And, I would probably start with Sonny! (Laughs)

This interview made me sad. When KS first came to GH and everybody was hating on her calling her “Maxiepad”, “Maxiebelle” and a host of other horrible names , attacking her acting, etc.. I know the fanbase that was there taking up for her and supporting her until good times came for her. And that fanbase certainly wasn’t Spixie.

We are watching GENERAL HOSPITAL and not DAYS OF OUR LIVES. I don’t know about attacking her acting, (She was nominated for an Emmy twice, during the Spixie years and maybe she appreciates teh airtime and notice] but I know people didn’t like the CHARACTER of Maxie because she was breaking up a marriage and playing a bad girl, which was the total opposite of Belle. Maybe that had something to do with it. Matt is not that kid on DAYS (Shawn???) and it’s good she got GH fans apart from a soap she was on when she was a little girl, whoever they may be..

The only one that brought up DOOL was you! Now quit trying to make my post meaningless! I know what you are trying to do! And know your facts before posting your nonsense! KS was nominated for a Emmy once and that was in 2009. At DOOL she WON the Young Artist award in 2002 and WON the Outstanding Child Actor award too. And was nominated for a bunch of others while she was there.

I love Maxie but please for the love of god do not revisit the Maxie and Spinelli relationship. I’m not a fan of Matt either but if I had to choose one it would be Matt over Spinelli. Maxie is so erratic and annoying in scenes with Spinelli. With Matt she’s just boring. Maxie needs a new exciting love interest. How about Lucky? Maybe even revisit the Maxie and Johnny flirtation. They were HOT!

As somebody that has supported Kirsten for 12 years now I’ve never felt so underappreciated and not loved by one of my soap heroes .

Love her! Love Spixie and want so much more! Love the interview wish it had been a video interview! Thanks Michael!

Here, here Linda! I couldn’t agree more. I love Kirsten, but she still doesn’t seem to understand why some of the M&M fans get mad when she posts about photo shoots with Bradford. In the 3 years since Jason Cook joined the show, we have not had a single photoshoot with them. Now add to that the fact that M&M have a lack of storyline and Matt’s character is still underdeveloped after all this time.

I know it’s stupid to get angry at Kirsten since she does not dictate storyline direction, nor when the soap mags (or the show) decide to do a photoshoot with her and with whom. However, it would be nice to see her show some understanding of our standpoint and where some of us are coming from. We have very little hope to hold on to when it comes to M&M having the type of amazing storylines they deserve, so we don’t need more salt added to our wounds.

But I have supported Kirsten since 1999 and will continue to do so. Thank you very much for this insightful interview Mr. Fairman.

I’m disappointed about the Spinelli stuff. I think the character has so much chemistry with other actors it is ashame to waste the character on Spinelli.

I don’t know why Kirsten has to bash us Jirsten/Matt/Maxie fans all the time. What did we ever do but love and support her for years. I’m not responsible for whoever tweeted her and I don’t appreciate her lumping me into that category. Just maybe if it wasn’t for us Jirsten fans loving her years ago and helping to get her on the cover of SOW, SOD, SOU, etc.. and making her somewhat of a soapstar she might not have ever been invited to join GH! This interview is sad indeed!

Kirsten Storms is a whirlwind. I am assuming she is the same in real life as she is on screen..Sonetimes, though, I find it is hard to understand her cause she talks so fast. But she does play her part well and makes it her own individuality. It will be interesting to se her with the new Kate after she has been running the magazine. Matt is not strong enough a character right now, and Spinelli is off the wall. So I think she needs someone to really slow her down and make her more mature. But, she is fun to watch. Good interview, Michael….

Well all I notice is she gets into the “voice” thing when she gets with Spinelli its mostly comedy…I just think Kirsten is being pigeon holed in the Betty Boop type ditzy blond caricature whenever she is w/Speen-Nell-eee. Its a shame too because she’s branded when Kirsten is excellent at serious drama.

As for Jason Cook he’s adorable and I still can’t figure out why they will not use this character on this show…he needs a storyline “stat” and it should not be contingent on Maxi…

Before they regulated Georgy to pouring coffee at Kelly’s for LuLu who had more story than she could handle he got rid of her .I always wanted a storyline for Georgy and Spinelli….then rumors ran rampant Lindsay L. didn’t fit Frons vision of pretty and I know what happens he won’t promoted or marketed unpretty actresses…hence he gave her role to Maxie .

This was a really pro-Spixie interview by KS with no love giving to the Matt-Maxie fanbase at all. All we got was a unwarranted pop-shot. She says she’s not hating on the M&M fanbase but it sounded like Freudian slip to me. Why even say that? So what exactly did a few M&M posters on Twitter do that was so wrong? They’ve just been teased mercifully by GH for three years only to have Maxie put back into Spinelli’s orbit out of the blue just when M&M was getting good. I guess they aren’t allowed to get upset over that. She went out of her way to go on and on about the previews for Spixie but didn’t care at all to preview anything for us M&M fans. Either she doesn’t care about us or this isn’t going to be much of a triangle. Never the less as a M&M fan a preview by her for the M&M fanbase on what we could expect would have been love. This sounds like it’s all about Spixie and BA is getting everything handed to him as usual. Spixie is going to talk about their relationship? What’s there to say? How “she has to fake the physical with him” and how “she’s not attracted to him in that way” or is GW going to rewrite their history like that bogus conversation that Maxie had with Dante on why Spixie broke up. I love Kirsten and Jason and this interview has upset me.

Glad to see a return to Spixie with longer scenes. Please get rid of the boring and mumbling Matt. He is a dud. GH has never recaptured the success of a couple on another show. It just doesn’t work that way.

i think this actress would do anything to get back into the pages of SID including kissing up the sycophantic soap journalists out there and kissing up to the clique
General Hospital media that’s out there. not impressed with her at all.

I am so happy to hear that Spixe will be sharing more scenes. I love them.

So glad to hear Kirsten and Bradford will be sharing more screentime. I LOVE SPIXIE! They are two wonderfully misunderstood souls who complete each other….outwardly Maxie and Spinelli are so different, but at their core both characters are very similar. M&M have bored me to tears long enough. Bring back the Spixie Magic!

I Love Maxie with Spinelli. I love the chemistry and tenderness of these characters. They just shine whenever they share scenes! I am hoping that the new head writer sees the magic Bradford and Kirsten bring to the show and goes for them full force. M/M fall flat to Spixie imo. Thanks for the interview Michael and Kirsten!

I enjoyed Jason Cook and Kirsten Storms on Days. But I love Spixie on GH. She was commenting on how whenever she tweets anything good about Bradford Anderson and Spixie she gets attacked as not caring about Jason and M/M. It isn’t true! She supports all fan bases. I hope Spixie returns to the relationship we saw at the non wedding. It doesn’t get any better than that! She is getting work now since she is sharing scenes with Bradford Anderson again. It was Maxie’s relationship with Spinelli that showed her heart and made her a likeable character. There is no better chemistry on daytime than Bradford and Kirsten. It is pure magic and it is what true soapy romance is about. Thanks Kirsten for a wonderful interview. Spixie forever!

Great interview! I’ve already noticed that the scenes on GH are longer, more substantive and more interesting. I definitely think Maxie and Spinelli have unfinished business. I hated the way the show basically dropped the couple after they didn’t get married. It felt so sudden and nonsensical. Personally, I also love seeing Kirsten act opposite someone of Bradford Anderson’s calibre. They are a great team and I’m thrilled to see them onscreen together again!

I love you Kirsten and I loved this interview. Seeing Spixie share the screen again is making me one happy woman. There’s something about Spixie that just is absolutely magical. Two complete opposites that find they can mesh as one. Those scenes in the sewer showed that Spixie’s flame is still alive and burning bright.

BA is leaps and bounds a better partner for KS. The chemistry is astounding. M&M have no spark at all. Just because KS and JC worked together as children does not mean their characters on GH have any fit together. As for the interview and hurtful feelings on M&M fans’ part – I seem to get the feeling a lot of them think they “made” Kirsten a star from their fandom of Shelle. BS IMHO – they need to get over the DOOL Shelle re-pairing fantasies, remember this is a completely different show with completely different characters and stop bashing the actress because they got screwed over by BF and BG.

I love Kirsten and Bradford working together so Spixie together on screen again is the bright spot of my day! I watch GH because of them. Personally, I do not understand the attacks on Kirsten…she doesn’t write the stories. But she certainly knows a great working relationship when she has it! She and Bradford make magic together. Maybe it is the “Opposite Attraction” part that makes it what it is, but you root for them to be together. I hope they have a long and happy partnership together. Thanks for the interview, Kirsten and all your hard work! And thank you, Michale for doing it!

Remember years ago they tried to pair Stephen Nichols & Mary Beth Evans up again on GH because they were so great on Days together lightening very rarely strikes twice though I don’t think they have written much for the character of Matt. Try a new love interest for her.I will say I have heard when she was available again after she left Days they did not want her back she seems to have major issues off camera that could be just RUMORS!!!

Fantastic interview! I am so excited for the upcoming Spixie storylines! I was also a fan of Shelle back in the day, but I can’t get enough of Spixie on GH. Kirsten and Bradford Anderson really light up the screen when they are together. I think Kirsten is a great actress, and I really respect her for her honest interviews and support/love of all of the fanbases.

I am also very excited for the upcoming reality show! Thanks for the great interview!

Loved the interview thanks so much. It was the Maxie and Spinelli dynamic that got me watching GH. Kirsten Storms and Bradford Anderson are wonderful actors that deserve coherent storylines. Give them something, they will deliver.

I love Kirsten, she has made me smile from day one…GH is lucky to have her and so are we! She is an awesome actress with so much class! I look forward to seeing how she plays out the Spinelli & Matt triangle…whatever happens Maxie will always be right up there on my list of favorites! LOVE U MAXIE!

This was a great interview. I believe that Kirsten is not the person to attack because Matt and Maxie weren’t given a photoshoot, a story, etc. This is driven by ABCD, and the media..I loved Spixie when they began. I will love them again if the new writing team gives them back their magic. I have nothing against the character of Matt. He was never fleshed out and to be honest, I believe that ship has sailed.
To those who would throw Kirsten under a bus for her comments, I would ask that you remember that Kirsten isn’t really Maxie. She just plays her on TV

Wait…wha? I don’t understand why this interview would make you feel under appreciated. You peeps are only furthering her point. She just can’t win with some people. She loves her fans no matter the fan base they subscribe to, maybe some of you should take it easy and realize that perhaps your perception of things are a bit askew. Does she have to be a staunch Maxie/Matt fan for her to “prove” that she appreciates you? Come on now…it’s just creepy.

This was an interesting and insightful interview. I found it an interesting read. Good questions and answers.
I am really excited that Spixie is making a comeback. KS and BA have amazing chemistry together and their story sort of abruptly got cut short without any real explanation just like KS said. I think a lot of the fans of Spixie were left wondering WTH just happened and why we were given the SKATE treatment. i am over the moon that Spixie is back in each other’s orbit and hope that this Jackal storyline leads to more growth and depth in their relationship and connects them even further. I could never get enough of the amazingly talented due of Kirsford. Thanks Kirsten and Michael

The last paragraph says it all. It’s clear that the Jackal PI is a big failure and flop. Even KS is admiting that and hopes it’s over with. This is nothing more than a Spixie pep rally by KS. “Hey people, Spixie are having scenes again, we’re taking about the past, etc.. ” blah, blah , blah! Trying to get people interested in them again — Well good luck with that one! More people want Maxie away from Spinelli than with him. This is a insulting interview , And KS just tosses the M&M fans under the bus uncaringly. Matt is Maxie’s boyfriend, don’t you think she should have at least talked about their relationship? And let M&M fans know what’s going on with them? Yet she chooses to prop Spixie? What BS!

I have always supported Kirsten, no matter who she’s been paired with. I can assure you that when Maxie was getting called names, I was sticking up for her. And yes, I’m a Spixie fan. While, like I said, I’ve always supported her pairings, there’s just something special about Spixie. I really like that finally there may be a glimmer of hope for us Spixie fans. Looking forward to seeing what the new headwriter does with Bradford and Kirsten’s amazing chemistry.

Nice interview! Thanks Michael and Kirsten! Loving that there will be more Spixie to look forward to. A lot of fans do want to see Maxie and Spinelli sharing scenes and especially back together, me being one of them. Pulling for a Spixie reunion. Kirsten and Bradford bring Spixie magic to the screen. To the people bashing KS, you really are just proving her point. SMH.

Maxie’s an interesting character who has been woefully underused since Spixie broke up last summer.

Kirsten Storms is one of the few actresses on GH who can switch between comedy and drama effortlessly. Spixie always had so much potential as more than comic relief, and after the sewer scenes on Thursday, I’m optimistic than Kirsten and Bradford will get a story that actually takes advantage of their talents.

For the first time in a long time, I’m looking forward to General Hospital and seeing what’s ahead for Maxie and Spinelli.

M&M fans need to put a cork in it and learn that perhaps the reason Kirsten barely mention M&M in the interview is because there’s nothing to be said. It’s unfortunate that the writers didn’t give Matt and Maxie a real love story. Yeah I’m a spixie fan, but I can definitely understand letting another fan base get their chance to shine and Bob Guza disappointed them big time. It’s not to say that Garin won’t develop M&M, he should to make this upcoming triangle more of a struggle for Maxie than an apparent choice to be with Spinelli. I don’t think it’s fair to say M&M are boring even though they are because if writers care about their characters they can make them interesting. I think M&M have potential and maybe underneath Jason Cook’s slicked back hair and annoying smile he can act.

It’s ridiculous how some M&M fans are reacting to this interview. She wasn’t pimping Spixie, she was pimping the fact that she actually has work, which she’s had none since she was paired with Matt/Jason Cook. Her tweets about Spinelli scenes and spixie photoshoots are in relation to GH, if she had the same with Jason Cook, I’m sure she would tweet about it.

Frankly I enjoyed the interview and will continue to support Kirsten. I wish other fans could too instead of bashing her for what is obviously a frustration that can only be calmed by the writers.

I love Kirsten and I have nothing against her personal opinions but here are mine: while Bradford and Kirsten do have chemistry together, I feel like the character of Maxie has outgrown Spinelli and she had a good thing going with Matt. So I’m not thrilled that Spixie gets revisited and if the Jackal P.I. storyline is an indication of things to come, then my fast forward button will certainly get a work out. I guess it’ll be up to Garin Wolf and his team of writers to make me care for the Spixie pairing again.

I have to agree with KS, Jackal PI needs to go away! OLTL has become my soap to watch for the last couple of years, but I’ve always enjoyed watching Maxie clips. Mopey Spinelli was bad enough, now I just scroll through any scene with the Jackal. She’s also right that it would have been a lot more interesting if Maxie had told Spinelli everything she told Dante. Instead they just had her randomly boink Franco and rushed her into a relationship with Matt, instead of giving Spixie real closure.

I like M&M. In fact, I actually didn’t a Shawn and Belle fan until I started watching clips AFTER JC joined GH. I think if the writers had kept up that original momentum, a real Spinelli-Maxie-Matt triangle would have totally rocked. Matt had such great cheesy lines (accented by JC’s off-kilter delivery), but they were soon handed off to Guza’s then-new toy Dante. Now, I would be just as happy if Matt had more stories on his own. And to be honest, seeing the Jasons together make me twice as giddie as seeing Jason and Kirsten.

I also wouldn’t mind seeing Maxie interact still more with Lucky. KS really has so much chemistry with her co-stars, that if soaps live long enough, she’s guaranteed to be crowned a soap queen.

Oops…I meant, “didn’t actually become a Shawn and Belle fan.”

I cannot watch any Spixie scenes from day one. No chemistry none what so ever. Love M&M, with Matt she’s a adult having adult conversations.
If you put Jason & Kristen in a room together electricity is bouncing off the wall. If they go with Spixie good bye GH..

I am thrilled to see Kirsten and Bradford together again. I think they are both fantastic actors and have a wonderful chemistry together. Can’t wait to see more.

I think Jackal PI is a hoot. Bradford is a wonderfuly versatile actor and I love to watch him at his craft.

My two cents. Matt and Maxie haven’t broken up yet. They are still together. This interview is so wrong in so many different ways! Is this a news bulletin that M&M are breaking up? Because it sure reads this way and if so what a crappy way to hear about it! I think Kirsten Storms is pretty heartless and mean here and so self serving. And fans know what I’m talking about here. But this is not a surprise really because when has she ever giving a real shout out to M&M or showing them any real support over the years. Bet you don’t see any M&M twitter stuff from her from here on out. As a Kemo fan I’ve never fully understood why she hangs out with Kirsten sometimes. Apparently all you have to do to be KS’s twitter best friend is to have a TV soap column like Nelson Branco or a magazine/blog like Richard Simms of Soaps In Depth and trash and bash her so-called best friends — Kemo and Jason Cook every week and she’ll love you forever and make you her best bud on Twitter as a reward. I don’t know about you guys but people that bash my best friends all the time are NOT my friends at all and I’ll be darned if I would be tweeting them! I’ll say one thing about Jason Cook he seems to be a great guy and he must be to put up with the crap he does on GH. And I have no doubt if it wasn’t for him this interview wouldn’t have even gotten one comment probably. You better watch yourself JC at Prospect if KS is lurking around somewhere because she’s probably waiting to stab you in the back again! With friends like her who needs enemies.

What a downer reading this Kirsten Storms interview! I hate Spixie and Spinelli with a passion! Spixie is like nails on a chaulkboard! They had their time. They are such a media made couple and they force them down our throats every chance they get! I want Maxie with Matt. They have the hotness, sexyness and looks that I like in a couple. All they need is a storyline and some love from the new headwriter! I’ll play devil’s advocate here and say that this was a huge Spixie fueled interview. She pretty much chosed sides. If this really is to be a triangle then why isn’t KS supporting both pairings? And why is it so one sided? It’s unbelievable! I’ve never heard of a actress that completely ignores her other fanbase! And what’s with the title of this interview, “Kirsten Storms- Spixie” ? WTF! And who paid KS to say GH fans want to see Maxie with Spinelli? SID just did a poll in their current magazine asking if Spixie Should Reunite and guess what the winning answer was – NO . But what is worse about this is over at the SID voting site right when this poll was going strong and the NO vote was taking off into the stratosphere , SID shut the poll down! WTF! But the other polls got to continue for the rest of the week! Something way wrong there. Their polls are whacked too because with the exception of JaSam and Liason the other couples in the polls over there only average about 4-6 votes a week. So a couple can make the top ten in the mag based on 4-5 votes. Only Spixie usually has about one or two votes but somehow they make the list? Something is wrong there . Just go to the site and see the votes yourself by all means. It’s true. All I remember about that Twitter post is KS took a tweet from one person and berated the entire M&M fanbase for it. Then posted a bunch of Spixie stuff out of spite in my opinion. Now she brings that crap here. So now the M&M fanbase is in a catch 20 situation where if they get mad or upset and say anything about this crapola Spixie lovefest then that proves that they are the crazy fanbase. They just have passion and heart. Just go to Youtube and look at all of the tribute videos to Jirsten by fans. Not very many other couples can boast that many. I hated this week because M&M couldn’t even have anytime alone without Spinelli interrupting! Maxie was like a Mom chasing her two year son. I miss the fun, sexy, mature , sassy Maxie that Matt brings to her character. I thought this new HW was going to bring some fair and balance? I just see the same people winning and getting written for on this show. I’ll watch to see how this goes but if Spixie reunites I’m done with this show for good this time.

I want Maxie to have a love story with Matt. When do we fans of Maxie/Matt get our turn? When is our payoff? I have a lot of time invested in watching this show only to get nothing again? Does my time not mean anything to this show? I’m not happy at all.

It’s sad that Matt/Maxie doesn’t even have a GH promo photo for sites to use. This site has to use a Home Habitat photo.

I’m a Matt/Maxie fan that’s barely hanging on. GH does nothing but disappoint.

I want Maxie with Matt.

us maxie-matt fans deserve a storyline too, this show doesn’t care about us.

Love her just hope she gets better sooonnnn

i sure hope that you are feeling better …i sure miss you on gh and i really dont care for the other girl, dont get me wrong she is good but she`s just not you …

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
