GH Nurses' Ball Day Two: Frisco and Felicia Ending, Richard Simmons, Sabrina & Emma and More!

On yesterday’s episode of General Hospital, it was day two of the singing, dancing, and backstage drama at The Nurses’ Ball.  First, many long times fans were heartbroken at the ending of the Felicia and Frisco story, when Felicia revealed to Frisco in front of the entire room that she is in love with Mac and he is the man for her!  A distraught Frisco walks out and his daughter Maxie goes running after him and asks him to stay in Port Charles for her!  Frisco says he can’t and leaves, in a heartbreaking scene between Jack Wagner and Kirsten Storms, who over a short time together have proven to be quite the acting duo!

Backstage an unhinged Richard Simmons attacks Lucy Coe and prevents her from getting out on stage and that just disingrates further until Simmons is carried out by the “Magic Milo” boys but not before uttering the hilarious line to Bobbie Spencer, “Hi Bobbie, say hello to Leslie for me!”

Rick Springfield came to the Nurses’ Ball as himself, imagine that?  In a very clever way to get Rick to sing his hit classic, “Jessie’s Girl” while still maintaining that Dr. Noah Drake, is just that, a doctor, not a rocker!

And how cute was Sabrina and Emma’s rendition of “Call Me Maybe?”  But what was even cuter was watching Patrick and Anna’s reaction!  There was also, Duke and Anna’s tango, the Magic Milo strip tease dance, and of course the evil Britt, coming up to the Nurses’ Ball stage with a coat over her blue dress as Dr. Patrick Drake is addressing the crowd in a beautiful speech about Robin’s life and HIV/AIDS awareness globally.

And, we finally learn what many have thought that, Britt is the daughter of evil Faison, thanks to the end of the show moment when Dr. Obrecht looks at Faison’s picture!

Watch Sabrina and Emma’s  musical number after the jump! Then let us know your thoughts on yesterday’s Nurses’ Ball episode? Favorite parts?  Upset about Frisco and Felicia?  Glad she chose Mac?  Weigh-in!

Adorable!! 🙂

SO glad Felicia picked Mac … let’s face facts, fans. If Felicia had chosen Frisco, she would have reverted to the doormat she was in the 90s. AND she would be off the canvas, as Frisco and Felicia would have left town together. Just never thought that Jack Wagner was going to be long-term.

I agree with all the earlier posts about the irresistable Lucy, and with the post about Robert Scorpio sadly remaining absent for the festivities. I don’t understand why SOMEBODY doesn’t sign Tristan Rogers to a long-term contract. Is he difficult? 😉

I do not think Tristan Rogers wants a long term contract. i think he is such an awesome person!!!

beautiful!!

Yesterdays show was fantastic! I am glad felicia chose Mac. He’s an angel! Frisco always has had an alterior motive; with no care to who he hurts. It was so sad how Maxie reacted. My heart went out to her. As for Richard Simmons, no thanks!

The one thing really stupid about the Richard/Lucy part is that no one was smart enough to check Lucys own dressing room when they thought she was missing!

Ephiphony(the overweight head nurse for the students) need to lose some weight. I am concerned about her health!

when Frisco said…. “there’s no reason for me to stay…”

boom…. pistol shot…

i thought that kinda let us down….

yeah, one had to figure he wasn’t going to stay long term..

but, the inroads they made on father/daughter…. was a bust… and, only with the writing… he showed lotsa love for Maxie… and he only said…. you’ve always been able to take care of yourself… ????

Maxie.. running after him.. was beautiful…. but… alas…. she has that solid figure.. in Mac…. and now… mended… Mother/daughter melding.

do not think Felicia should have chosen Mac. She is still in love with Friscoe. Why didn’t mac ask felicia to marry him??

Felicia loves both Mac & Frisco but has learned from her past mistakes. Choosing Mac shows her personal growth. She chose Frisco before and lost her relationship with her children. This time she has realized that Mac, strong and dependable, is what she and her daughter need. Her love for him is more important to her now. So happy they showed this growth in Felicia. Leaving her kids never made sense. I love how Ron C is fixing the mistakes of past writers.

Felica loves Friscoe, but friscoe does not want to be on the show. So the writers had to “get rid ” of him.

I love Epiphany(expand her role GH) and her weight is a concern…my late mother was overweight and so are several of my other family members who most have health issues. Would love to see the actress on a celebrity version of the biggest looser!

i think it sucks that she chose mac. cant stand mac. long time fan of felicia and frisco. im so upset that i will not watch it any longer.

Felicia did not cose Mac…the writers did.

I’m glad Felicia picked Mac but just wish they could’ve ended frisco story differently, it should’ve been more opened ended.

I agree. So glad Felicia chose Mac! And I loved the Rick Springfield is Noah Drake’s doppleganger twist. Laughed out loud when Bobbie told Noah that she had never noticed how much he looks like Rick. Lynn Herring as Lucy Coe is phenomenal – I want her on GH permanently! Loved the AJ/Liz scenes. Loved everything, really. Watching the crowd was so much fun – Lucy, Olivia and Felicia and Mac rocking out in the audience were hilarious! Awesome job by the GH cast & crew. LOVED IT!

Loved Rick Springfield and the Noah Drake inside joke. Wish he could stick around. Yum!!

Britts pregnant! Part of my guess was right!

Thats jimh…i go by now…lol

You were right– I didn’t think she would be pregnant because I figured if she was she would have told Patrick ages ago– and wouldn’t be begging mommy for help–unless she is faking it– no she must be because it would a bit difficult to fake a pregnancy if the so call father is a doctor.
So maybe she did steal Dante’s and Lulu’s egg and Maxine was never pregnant with their child. This could lead to a custody fight later down the road when Maxine realizes the truth and wants her child back, a child she gave up out of guilt. Who knows? I guess we will just have to watch to find out. How clever of a soap opera writer to write a story that will make people want to watch to find out what happens, such a novel concept, why didn’t they think of it before? LOL.

Thats why i made my guess…hoping what i said is true about Britt carrying Dantes and Lulus baby…it would definately keep me watching in suspense, especially the if done the way i suggested with so good twists! Some may not like them, but im starting to enjoy Britt and her mother. And its been ages since ive been addicted to GH! Nice to her from you again Mary SF!

I thought the whole Britt is pregnant thing was in poor taste sorry FV & RC can’t support you on this one. The husband standing up there with his daughter honoring Robin etc and he proves he had unprotected sex. I was disgusted however I know what twist they are planning for this pregnancy but it still defeated the purpose of what dragged on way too long for me. Tacky! Plus Richard Simmons over the top I was glad it was over today.

I like this idea! Too cool.

yep, I’m thinking she’s got Dante & Lulu’s baby in there.. very interesting twist indeed!!! Did Faison dream this up? Hope Anders Hove is on his way back again after he escapes maximum security 😀

wow… that’s a good twist….

down the road… it could be said… that Lulu and Dante will have their child… and Maxie and Spinelli will have theirs…

this is about Dr. Patrick.

altho… a part of me still can’t believe… he’s moving on…

i didn’t buy that moment between Patrick and Anna…. “both” moving forward with their lives… like we had to see Anna prodding on the sometimes dimwitted Patrick… it’s OK…. perfect Sabrina…. is who you need.

time for my bitter pill

I loved yesterday’s Nurse’s Ball episode!!! Would have loved less of Richard Simmons… who seemed like something out of a bad imitation of “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane”. I loved the Emma snd Sabrina number and yes… the reactions of Anna and Patrick were the best! Emma/Brooklyn is a great little talent and she looks like she is having the time of her life throughout these episodes!!! She is such a talented cutie!!! I loved the Magic Milo number and the tango with Anna and Duke! I loved Emma’s reaction to Anna and Duke being he boyfriend… sweet! Please keep Brooklyn as Emma like KM was Robin over all the years… Brooklyn is priceless!!!

I too was happy to see Felicia choose Mac… but I really wanted Frisco to stay and have Jack get a contract! I love him and Maxie/Kirsten together and would loved to see more of them and possibly have him make up for years being gone which way out there could be his way to win Felicia back if they truly are a super couple that could re-unite and endure through time. We all have our favorite super couples and wish they could be together again but the line that Genie said about Luke and Laura needing to be “what it is” vs “what it was” works for all of them (Frisco & Felicia and Anna & Duke). They are older… lives have changed… circumstances are different and it may or may not work. I really am sad about Jack/Frisco… a huge missed opportunity not having him stay around for awhile… he needs Maxie just as much as she needs him! Mac and Felicia need to see Frisco be there for Maxie!

I was right about Brit’s father bein Faison and I am thinking Ellie may be one of the missing Q heirs. I also believe she worked with Brit on the whole baby thing with Maxie. I so wish SPIXIE would happen again and can’t wait for Spinelli to find out he has a daughter… if she really is Spinelli’s? They may have us fooled about that too. Poor Maxie being messed with so… I was also hoping that Frisco would kick more Brit butt and do something with Dr. Obrect too! Anna will be after her when she realizes she is in town.

Still wished Robin would have made an appearance during the Nurse’s Ball… but I can still hope! Loved what Patrick said and it was so cute with Emma up there too!

Love the musical numbers and still wish they would get back to having Karaoke nights at the Floating Rib again!!! The show has so many talented people and that is always so much fun! Bradford Anderson is soooooo talented! Loved him dancing with Antoin.

Absolutely love GH and the great surprises!!! Thank you to all!!! Congratulations again!!! There is a reason why GH has had 50 years and will have many more… beacuse it really is the best and it has it all… with the best cast, writers and crew!!!

Nice Heidi…i enjoyed reading your comments!

Thanks jimh!

Great post Heidi!! I think Richard Simmons should have stayed in the 70’s! 😀

Thanks Ces!

I second that! Richard Simmons should have stayed in the 70’s!

I like the idea of Ellie… being a missing “Q”.

you know… you have to give credit to the newbies that catch on…

and keep them…

ie: it took awhile… but Trey and Joe Scully… coulda worked….

Ellie… whatya know… she looks like Tracey? that red firey.. hair….

Her name could be Lauren Elizabeth…called Ellie. Hmmm

GH is the best soap opera ever!!! it will always be the best!! the cast are like family to me. I will miss them.

I liked that Felicia picked Mac. Strong and steady his raised her kids! Kristen storms was fantastic when she asked Frisco to stay. That was heart breaking. She has been abandoned by him so long and now again. Ouch!

The nurses ball made me remember how much i miss those old music/variety shows. My biggest problem was that no one checked for Lucy in her dressing room when they thought she was missing. Didnt like how Frisco left Maxi just because Felicia turned him down…maybe they couldve at least say he was called away on some mission, then have him visit Maxi in the future when the baby is born ect. Richard S. was ok but much of his scenes could have been trimmed so the episode couldve showed the Bobbi/Felicia scenes that were cut. Mollys singing kinda looked like something meant for Starr. Glad to hear Micheal on phone with Starr, tho her name not mentioned. In spite of a few corny moments, i enjoyed the nurses ball and give it a big A. Hope there will be another one in 2014!

Loved everything but Richard Simmons. Why include his scenes when so many great storylines are on the front burner?

Loved it! All of it!

well, I didn’t think Jack Wagner was staying long term… like staying until after Maxie gave birth, nor staying to figure out what the Britch and her mummy are up to, so I wasn’t surprised by Felicia picking Mac. I was a little surprised that Frisco would propose in front of everyone.

I loved Sabrina & Emma’s skit. Watched a couple times. The Milo boys were fun… but so far I liked the Blinded me with science skit with Damien and Ellie the best — I’ve watched that four times… so far!

and of course, watching Rick Springfield sing is always fun… in person (which I have!) or on GH!

What was the song/artist that Sabrina sang at the end of the nurses ball.

The Song is called “Call me maybe” by Carly Ray Jepsen

At the end of the ball, she was singing a song called “you are not alone”…I don’t know who its by.

I really hated how the whole Frisco and Felicia scene was written. I wanted Felicia to choose Frisco. Frisco and Felicia should have left the show together. While growing up Frisco and Felicia has always been a favorite couple. It was sad how they had Jack Wagner/Frisco leave. I only like Felicia and Mac together as friends.

Felicia love Friscoe. She chose Mac becuase he is a steady hand.

Why are new comments takking so long to submitt!

Richard Simmons went from Inspiring to a spiteful queen. The Lucy in the underwear scene needed to be the end, like the other years. Frisco showed he cared nothing for maxie, and Felicia was his true mission. I did find the Mac and then Olivia sets to be stupid. Would like to have seen AJ and Liz’s much talked about number. The final song/Robin needed to be during middle and with Brenda and Sonny there. Also I was missing Audrey, Luke, Robin, Alan, Edward, Ned, Em, Dara the people who wade the Nurse’s Ball so memorable.

I love that the ball is back!! I like that many of the acts did look look like last minute throw togethers, and not polished Broadway numbers. I question the appropriateness of a male strip tease act at a ball to raise money for AIDS, but that is a minor quibble. The heart and soul of GH was clearly on display, and it rarely was under Phelps/Guza. I hope this will again be an annual event. Richard Simmons can stay away. He was creepy and disturbing and psychotic and the time spent on him could have been devoted to more meaningful stuff. The 50th anniversary celebration, in its entirety, was a labour of love and a great success.

I loved the entire thing! However, I don’t understand why they wrote Richard Simmons to act like that. I know him quit well and he is NOT like that at all. He is kind and sweet to absolutely everyone and does not act like a Diva at all. My Husband knows him too and we were both just perplexed that they would write him to be completely against how he really is. He is always encouraging and uplifting, understanding and genuine. I think it gave many people who are not aware of how he is the wrong impression of him like he is how they showed him on the show. Maybe not such a good idea for him to agree to do this.

Lucy has always been my favorite and she has been wonderful! I hope they keep her on. Please get rid of Brit. She has no likeable qualities at all!

They wrote him like that for laughs…so that Lucy had a ‘reason’ to go onstage in her underwear.

Most of us don’t think the actors are like their characters, Richard doesn’t need to worry – we still love him! 🙂

I don’t understand myself either why they wrote Richard Simmons part that way! And I didn’t like his part in the Nurses Ball at all .. I guess that’s the way he was told to play it. It wasn’t good at all! Too mean & nasty for me.

At the end of the show it appeared that Michael was talking to Starr on the phone, am I right? Although I am going to miss KA as Starr, I am happy that the writers didn’t make it as if Starr was never a part of the show, because for a moment I thought they were going to do that because Micheal never mentioned missing her or wishes she was there performing at the Nurses ball.

It was a slap in the face for Frisco fans. Sure Felicia would pick Mac, but why destroy his character that way. Couldn’t he be a long distance support for Maxie? The Frisco I grew up with would be written that way. And Claire Labine would never let Frisco’s character be destroyed that way.

The Frisco I remember was written that way because JW left the show. Frisco never bothered to contact his brother after BJ’s death/after Maxie’s heart transplant. And he wasn’t around after Georgie’s death. Whether or not past writers wanted to recast Frisco, they could have written him in somehow but didn’t. This destroyed his character a long time ago for me. Given all of that, Felicia’s choice and the writing of it made perfect sense to me. Sadly, Frisco will always be a character who suffered because the actor chose to leave the show. It was written decades ago.

you are absolutely correct! Actualy Jack wagner called (Felicia) in real life and said, ” I got a call and the want to know if i will come back for the 50th anniversary.” She said she did not mind.

But truly Felicia loves Friscoe. Mac is a fool. he did not ask felicia to marry him Felicia asked Mac!

i agree fran

I HATED the way they wrote Frisco out. I got that Frisco and Felicia wouldn’t be end game with the Wagners now divorced and Jack’s stay only temporary but it wasn’t necessary to decimate Frisco that way. I knew going into Monday’s show that it would be heartbreaking but I thought that we would at least good memories to look back on. The whole thing was classless and mean spirited.

I agree, but what’s done is done. Roll on. The script should have been written differently and here is why: What I found surprising was the stuff the writers had scripted Jack and Kristina Wagner do. Not only was this probably hard personally, but professionally also. My guess is that Frisco and Felicia was near and dear to the Wagners also. Wonder how they felt when they saw the script. Frisco singing to and professing his love to Felicia, then her shutting him down. This was filmed in front of basically the entire cast and crew. I know it was acting, but wow, had to be tough for everyone, especially the Wagners. Other scenes I’m sure were difficult too, but the NB one? Yikes. Instead of complaining about Frisco’s exit being classless and mean, maybe fans should give it up for the two actors and applaud them for even attempting what was ultimately scripted. That was class to me.

Absolutely loved GH NB and the great surprises!!! Awesome job!!

Oye… you have to admit…

Richard Simmons… was love to hate… look at… how times have changed….

given the write material…. and writing… he’d draw in some….

his asexual means?

he reels more than 15 minutes…

give him some clout. he retained more than a fad.

Props to Milo…

he wears them “WELL”.

high brow.

Just great soap! Thank you FV!

I didn’t like the way the writers wrote Richard Simmons part for the Nurses Ball. He got
on my nerves. Found it to be very annoying.. And he was acting like revengeful psychopath . Everything else was great!

OMG what happened to Bobbi? She used to be soooo pretty. Now she looks like a puffer fish.

Wonder if the same Frisco/JW fans on here are the same crazy ones that are on twitter vowing to boycott anything to do with Mac and Felicia and their portrayers. Yes, and their portrayers, this is getting personal for some fans. Immature to say the least. Fans on twitter were so ticked because Mac and Felicia were dancing to Rick Springfield in the audience and smiling at Olivia and Max’s Frisco comments in their NB skit. It was scripted people! Dancing on Frisco’s grave like some have said? Give me a break! And I am a huge Frisco and Felicia fan. That was then, this is now. Move on. Frisco who? Enter Stavros. The writers feel he is their ticket now.

frisco and felicia belong together they should be a family again why did she’s choose mac over frisco it’s not right i think she’s doing this to get back at him she’s could at least think about it first before she’s make a chose which men she’s would want to spend the rest of her life i hope frisco comes back in time to stop the wedding it would be great!

Very disappointed that Felicia chose Mac
I hope Frisco come back soon and Mac leave Felicia for another woman and discover that Mac has a secret son who has abandoned when was a child

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

Photo: ABC

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.
