GH stars react to Becky Herbst's dismissal via Twitter!

Jonathan Jackson: “I’m heartbroken over the news about Becky. She is absolutely irreplaceable; an incredible actress and a phenomenal person. I’m confident the future has brilliant things in store for her! Right now, I’m just speechless and deeply disappointed.”
Kelly Monaco : “So sad and devastated by the loss of Becky, an amazingly talented woman, from the GH cast. It makes me worry about the future of Daytime.”
Tyler Christopher : “In my many years on General Hospital dozens of actors have come and gone in one fashion or another. I have never been as shocked as I am now over Becky being let go. Elizabeth Webber has been an intricate part of Nikolas Cassadine since nearly the inception of the Characters. I will miss that, and my friend.”
Steve Burton: “Hello everyone, most of you have heard the horrible and awful news about Becky. My heart breaks as I even have to tweet this. One of the best and most beautiful actresses that has been on this show. Beside that, she’s a friend and that hurts. Some show will be lucky to have her. May god bless them through this transition. Much luv to Michael and Becky.”
Clearly from the amazing posts we have received all week at On-Air On-Soaps the fans are not happy by this decision and neither are the actors on the series. So what gives? Perhaps, massive budget cuts coming?

Adam Huss Makes Another Return to General Hospital as Nikolas Cassadine
Nikolas Cassadine will be back on your screens next week but now via Pentonville. That means, that actor Adam Huss is back for a visit for all-new episodes of General Hospital.
In story, Ava (Maura West) comes to visit her ex in the slammer. So, just what does Ava want now? She clearly has been working an agenda on Sonny (Maurice Benard). Is she working with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart)? What will she tell Nikiolas? stay tuned.
Meanwhile, once news of Huss’ return broke earlier on Friday via Soap Opera Digest, he also announced his return on his Instagram expressing, “For all those who’ve been asking, cat’s out of the bag;) Thank you to all my #Nikolas #GH fans for your unwavering support. I don’t take it for granted for a second! (Even when I can’t answer 😊) #generalhospital”

Huss took over the role of Nikolas back in January of 2023, after Marcus Coloma left the soap opera. Previous to that, Huss filed in for Coloma in September of 2021 and November of 2022. Fast-forward to January of 2024, Nikolas gave Ace to Laura and Kevin to raise, while he eventually turned himself into the police for kidnapping Esme and keeping her hostage while she was pregnant and Wyndemere.

The return of Huss comes on the heels of multiple reports that his on-screen son, Nicholas Chavez is not returning to the show as Spencer Cassadine, while in story Spencer is believed to have drowned int the Seine River after falling off a boat in France, when drugged by Esme.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sonny and Jason Trade Threats on Each Other
The love affair that once was mobster Sonny (Maurice Benard) and hit man Jason (Steve Burton), and having each others back, is now apparently over! On the Thursday April 25th episode of General Hospital, an increasingly paranoid Sonny is confronted by Jason.
Jason wants to talk to Sonny about a “family matter”, but Sonny says they aren’t family now because he’s working with the Feds. Sonny goes on to say how he cannot trust Carly (Laura Wright) or Jason and he knows about Jason buying back the Metro Court for Carly from Nina (Cynthia Watros).
When the conversation turns to Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Dex (Evan Hofer), Jason informs Sonny that Kristina (Kate Mansi) knows Sonny ordered a hit. Jason is worried about Dex’s safety. He tells Sonny that if he does something to Dex, Kristina will figure out that he is responsible.

Sonny goes on to say how much he loves his kids and how he will protect them. He then tears into Jason for abandoning his sons, Danny and Jake, for two years and how he has no right to stand there to tell him what to do.
Jason warns Sonny again to leave Dex alone or he’ll personally stop him. Sonny snaps at Jason, countering, “You’ll die trying!” And at that point, Jason walks out and Sonny slams the door behind him.

REPORT: Nicholas Chavez Not Returning to General Hospital
For those who were holding out hope that Daytime Emmy winner and fan favorite, Nicholas Chavez would be returning to General Hospital after filming his leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters anthology, it looks like those hopes have been dashed.
According to a report from TV Line, although unconfirmed from General Hospital or a representative for Chavez, the actor will not reprise his role as Spencer Cassadine on the long-running ABC soap opera and continue the love story of Sprina opposite Tabyana Ali (Trina, GH).
Chavez was cast as Lyle Menendez over the the summer of 2023 for the second season of Murphy’s limited Monsters series on Netflix. In the upcoming season, the series will focus on the the case of Lyle and Erik Menendez, the two well-to-do Beverly Hills brothers accused of murdering their parents in 1989.

After word from Chavez casting was revealed, GH fans were concerned over the fate of the Sprina story, a spokesperson for GH shared, “We support Nicholas’ endeavors and look forward to having him return to General Hospital once this project is wrapped.”
In story, the series “killed off” Spencer when he went overboard with Esme to the steely waters below after being injected with a drug, thanks to Esme and falling into the Seine River in France. However, his body was never recovered, and believed to have drowned or washed away. Thus, leaving an opening for Spencer to return in the form of Chavez or be recast down the line.

TV Line shared that ‘multiple sources’ are confirming that Chavez is not returning to the ABC soap opera, which is what many had suspected might be the case once he left for this major starring role in a Ryan Murphy project. Chavez has been relatively quiet on social media for months.

No word yet on when Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story will debut on Netflix, but it is assumed later this year.

I’m upset that she is leaving and will not watch anymore. She goes I go
I have heard from multiple sources that the reason Becky was fired was because Brian Frons did not like her character (apparently he’s a Jasam fan) or the fact that the fans supported her. Well, he just shot himself in the foot if this is true. It sounds like many of Becky’s fans plan on boycotting GH. Last night, Stardish Radio did a 2 hour show about the situation, and there will be another one tonight about the firing of both Becky and Brittany Underwood of OLTL. It will be at 9pm EST.
Well, I understand cutbacks…but the wrong actress was cut. Rebecca Herbst is a veteran actress portraying a legacy character with great storyline potential, despite what TPTB stated. The show has become unrecognizable with all the new characters that I am not invested in. But I was invested in Elizabeth Webber and her story. This is a bad decision on the part of ABC/GH.
If it was massive budgets cuts then why hire all these new people? Cut back on the people they show constantly put more stories to those who havn’t had one in a long time. GH should take a look at its history and embrace it. Not dismiss it. The “hospital” in General Hospital is slowly disappearing. They should take a good look at Y&R. They are getting the ratings.
I was shocked and saddened by the firing of Rebecca H. This may be the final nail in the coffin of what was once an amazing, exciting, dynastic soap opera. Killing Georgie, Allen, Emily, Justus…all big mistakes. Now getting rid of Elizabeth…I think TPTB are intentionally destroying GH. She’s a nurse…it’s called General HOSPITAL!
Pair her with Jax if Lucky and Nik have moved on. That would really chap Carly’s behind 🙂
Letting Rebecca Herbst go is by far one of the single worst decsions GH has ever made. Elizabeth is the most relatable characters on the canvas. Daytime is a dying genre, and if they believe getting rid of veteran/legacy characters will help bring in a younger crowd and therefore add some legs to the longevity of the show, they are sadly mistaken. Ask the average 18 year old if they watch daytime and they’ll laugh at you and tell you their days are spent in class and watching the DVR of Glee from the night before. But if you ask most a little older they will tell you they grew up watching the genre with their mother or grandmother and got hooked that way. Well guess what, if those Mom’s and grandmom’s no longer watch because the show has lost its heart…then no one will be bringing in that younger audience. Good luck with your Maury Povich style of writing GH, I think myself and many others who miss the days of quality writing and engaging characters will now be moving on. I know this was the final straw that broke this viewers back. I sincerely hope Becky lands on another show, I will follow her. The storyline that will dictate her exit, will also be the storline that dictates mine.
A terrible decision by the part of General Hospital. Just like firing Stuart Damon and Lindze Leatherman were horrible decisions (and killing of Emily). But, then General Hospital has had a history of firing actors who play characters that make up the historical fabric of the show. I’m not sure why. And I am sure that General Hospital’s budget is a mess, given the hiring spree that they have been on over the last six months, and the fact that they completely botched Vanessa Marcil’s return last year.
It is sad that yet another actor is fired because of Jill Farren Phelps mismanagement and Robert Guza’s horrible writing. When do we get to hear about them receiving their pink slips?
Soaps – all of them, but especially GH – won’t last more than 10 years. Reality Shows are giving us better drama a lot cheaper. Sad but true.
GH has become so horrible that I can’t help but feel like it’s on purpose. There is no way they are this stupid.. it’s just impossible, right? They must be sabotaging their own show.
I too am walking Michael. Can’t take one more minute of what Guza/Frons/Phelps are doing to a once riveting soap. Rebecca Herbst is stunning and charismatic, and has so much potential. I hope she lands somewhere worthy of her talent and dedication. She gave a lot, and from all reports was never a diva, always gracious and called GH her second home. She will be missed. I have watched since 89′ and was watching when Becky arrived in Port Charles as the fiesty “Lizzie” and she was my favorite from then on. Having Jonathan back to complete the original permanent lock was a dream come true for this longtime LL2 fan even though I loved Greg in the spot. I never thought with his return…her demise would be met a year or so later. Sad. Guza writes for Himself, that much is painfully obvious, he hasn’t written for the fans in YEARS. abc’s comment “storyline dictates” proves that-Guza just doesn’t feel like it. He’s for the mob and everyone else is collecting dust, nevermind that the soap is dying because of it. I hope the remaining fans enjoy it while it last because at this rate, its not long for this world too much longer. Thanks Michael!
So agree. Storyline dictated? Is Guza a writer or not? Did he inherit a show with history or not? It may not be fair to the new characters, but this firing coming upon the heels of killing AJ, Alan, sending off Dillon and having Tracy run around after Luke–I think Guza is more interested in wiping out any trace of the old soap than he is in writing a good soap. With Liz gone, I have quite as well. I stopped watching as soon as news broke. I just want her to end up in a place that will respect her talent, OLTL or Y & R
I’m beyond heart-broken by the news of Rebecca’s firing. GH has just cut out the core of their show. Becky is and will always be a gracious actress who gave them 14 years of loyaly to this daytime soap only to be kicked in the gut for her charming work ethic.
GH will suffer in every avenue of their precious demographic. Fans of Becky will not hang around to watch them further destroy the character of Elizabeth Webber, show disrespect to Becky and rub salt in a widely open cut. As a fan of Rebecca and the beautiful character she portrayed, I will take my viewership along with my loyalty to her and remember the Elizabeth I know before they try to erase her from the canvas.
Good luck Mr. Frons, Ms. Phelps with keeping your audience because I highly doubt you will get the ratings you seek for this horrendous, callous and disrespectful decision to let Rebecca go. They day you announced Becky’s departure was the day I truly stopped watching General Hospital.

What GH needs is a new head writer and a new EP!!! And quite frankly, ABC needs a new head for their Daytime Division. Anytime those in charge think they need more than the fans and that fans can be “taught” what to like-shows that they are out of touch with what the fans really want!!!
This freaking sucks! I only watch General Hospital because of Elizabeth Webber! And since she is not on anymore you can bet i am NOT WATCHING ANYMORE! Brian Frons, you are a freaking DUMBA** if you think fans are going to continue to watch the hell hold that you consider a SUPPERCOUPLE jasam.. they are horrible together! SO BYEEEEEEE! When GH abandoned Rebecca Herbst they abandoned the one character left on the show that in any way reflected who I am and could relate to. So in announcing to the world “Elizabeth” story isn’t worth telling, they told this fan, me, I’m not worth it.
While I respect the stars and their kind words for Becky, their characters don’t hold the heart of the show for me… “Elizabeth” did.
Farewell GH… it was nice while it lasted.
Somebody wake up and take a look at what this Executive Producer and Writer are doing to this show, They are breaking it down piece by piece, soon it will be just a pile of rubble.
I want to believe this can be turned around that if GH fans, write, write, write the show and unlike the show on Facebook and like the Save Rebecca Herbst Page on Facebook and sign the Twitter petition…that if the voices are loud enough the decision can be overturned and Becky kept on the show !!! They undervalue their audience and they undervalued Becky…I believe the fans are stronger than any power that TPTB hold and I am not giving up on Becky and Elizabeth’s future on GH.
Leah, no offense, but I don’t want BH to stay on a show that clearly has no use for her. And GH has a history of keeping actors after fan protest and then isolating them and reducing their role so as a viewer I am begging them to let the actor go. Ghost Alan? Edward reduced to almost nothing. I would rather BH be given the opportunity to find a job where the writers like and respect her character and will write for her. The only way I’d ever want BH back on the show is if there was a different headwriter, different executive producer, and a different head of ABC Daytime.
If this about budget cuts, why did they hire that no talent vanessa marcil, who still thinks she’s in her early twenty’s. She is so freakin annoying and she’s destroying the show. Get rid of her and keep Rebecca.

People are just guessing what the reason was for firing Becky. Budget cuts, Frons or Guza didn’t like her character, etc. You can guess all you want, the only people that know for sure are TPTB and they ain’t talking. We have to remember, this is a business. We may never know the real reason.
It is not business to get rid of a popular character. There is quite a bit of evidence, actually, from many sources, that this firing is personal. Becky was popular among her castmates, and extremely popular among the fans. There are many fans who liked both Sam and Liz, that says something about those two characters. To say it is a business decision makes you very trusting of PR reports. Is it good business to get rid of a very popular character? And I mean VERY popular. This is a dying industry, but perhaps Guza’s endgame is simply to finish it off.
Cosign Megan. This has backstage politics written all over it and many know why she is really gone. We’re not talking about some nobody character and actress. We’re talking about someone who is STILL extremely popular with the fans and still had MUCH story to tell. They just weren’t willing to write it. Many fans had been begging for her to have a story for months and she won in a LANDSLIDE of those most in need of a story for 2011. How do they repay us, but getting rid of her. Real nice. GH has already been going down for years, but many feel, including myself, that this is the stake through it’s already flagging heart. It was bad enough when they killed of 90% of the Quartermaines and killed supercouple Frisco and Felicia’s daughter, Georgie. But this? Not to mention, we all know how Frons thinks. Just look at any interview where he is talking about the women on his shows, particularly when he ever mentioned one Kathy Brier. A charm that guy is, no? Yeah. Becky’s firing speaks volumes, and anyone who doesn’t understand that, doesn’t understand the history and it’s importance to the show.
I am heartbroken and angry over the news my favorite character and actress of all-time has been fired. This is one of the most shocking and stupid moves I have seen any soap make. Becky’s last day on GH will also be mine, and I look forward to loyally watching Becky on whatever show she’s on next.
I am deeply heartbroken over Becky being fired. She was basically the reason I continued to watch that train wreck of a show. I too, can no longer watch them assassinate Elizabeth’s character. It has been over 20 + yrs but I’m done!
I am one of the many fans extremely upset over Becky Herbst’s firing. I stopped watching the show last week. It may sound extreme, but her firing was the last straw for me. I haven’t liked the mob focus of GH for the last few years, especially its Sonny-Jason focus. The last thing I want to do to escape is to follow a bunch of mobsters in gun battles. I think her firing is incredibly disrespectful both to her and her many fans. She is so popular! To say that it is storyline dictated, well guza is just admitting what we all know–he can only write for mobsters and cannot write for women. He should be embarrassed.
I’ve heard it said that the show(s) can hire 3 newbies for the price of 1 vet. With GH they got rid of their “vets” a long time ago. The actress playing Monica (LC) is recurring. Alan was killed (so Stuart Damon has been let go). The “new” vets are people like Liz, Jason, Sonny, –our faves. Anthony G takes 2 long vacations a year and it seems like that may be what’s saving his job.
Fans have been asking for more Bobbie and Mike. Fans want Laura to come home. I guess we now know that will never happen.
Maybe the whole purpose of killing off the Quartermaine clan was to balance the budget? It makes me wonder who is next to go?
Long time viewers want to see the character’s that brought them to GH in the first place, not a bunch of new people who haven’t the deep ties to the shows legacy. Putting new people on contract while firing a contract vet is like a slap in the face to all of the viewers.
What a horrible unjustice to throw Becky Herbst out of GH. Have been a fan since I have watched the show since I was very small. As soon as Becky leaves, so will I. Maybe GH higher ups need to stop giving contracts to new people, and rewrite their scripts to keep our favorites in. Suddenly Becky doesnt fit in? Lucky gets a new girl, Nicholas gets a new girl, Becky gets a pink slip. Shame on you GH. So many actors/actresses leave their beginning for greener pastures, but she stuck it out with you and all you give her is unemployment!!! Good Luck Becky…they don’t deserve you!
Please check out general hospital happenings, as they have posted the phone and snail mail of the higher ups at GH, and maybe if enough of us complain, we can save her job! Also dont forget twitter!!!
My heart hurts by this news. I am very angry! I have loved Liz since she and Sara first came to pc. notice Sara’s character didn’t last. I related to Liz. She and I are the same age and we were preggo together her with Jake born in may and my son was born in june. what will happen to the children? Will they be without a mother or will they go too? I started watching gh when I was 3 with my mother and grandmother so its like a part of my family and a link to my late grandmother.I think my family is breaking up and this is going to be my farewell also. Like losing my grandma all over again. Way to go gh was the best but now its the worst. You don’t treat people that way at all! Good luck Becky you will be missed!
Are you kidding me? We haven’t even been blessed with a possible reunion between her
and Lucky when they realize Lucky is baby’s father. Actors are only as good as the writing and Becky shouldn’t be penalized because the writers blew it big time!! Get rid of Brooklyn or that Irish pain in the butt to save money..Lulu is the new whinny better than thou pain in the butt as well. This is the thanks she gets from coming back from
maternity leave? Sounds fishy to me…maybe she should get a lawyer!! Maybe all these co-stars that are so sad to see her leave could offer to make a little less if budget
cuts are an issue! (just a thought) Becky you deserve so much better and now that
AMC is in California maybe they could get you on to play opposite Jacob Young again!!

What a horrible joke!! While I have always been a Brenda fan we all know Vanessa
will get bored with GH and leave again.. Then what? The writers will be trying to get
Becky back and she will have another job. Its a sign of the times..there is no moral code or respect for a person who has proven over and over again how dedicated they are
to their craft. Just hirer somebody younger or cheaper and the hell with the experienced
vets. I enjoy the “new” Michael but remember how crappy GH was to Drew? After a
stunt like this nobody on this show should feel safe anymore. Good to know us little
people arent alone in the world of, “will I have a job tomorrow?” Have a baby then get
fired….doesn’t look good GH!! Becky should have no problem finding another soap gig
but why would she want to? Maybe she should try nighttime or use her sewing talents
in another line of work. GH has treated so many vets terribly but Becky is still a young woman and very beautiful. If the writers can’t find story for her they should have checked

I stopped watching the minute I found out. Literally in the middle of an episode. It is further a slap in the face that they are ruining Elizabeth Webbers character and degrading and embarrissing with the horrible story line of Jealous Liz. I feel horrible for Rebecca Herbst to be treated in this manner, as well as, having to go through a horrible story line. There are now rumors that they plan to kill off Jake, so that Jason will change his mind about having a baby with Sam. It’s pathetic, that Frons and Guza have to go to such legnths to try and push a pairing.
The writing was on the wall for Rebecca the minute Kelly Monaco renegotiated her contract and apparently wanted a JaSam storyline again. Not to blame Kelly, but it’s the writers who write for actors they like, and not for the characters that we have invested in that are at fault. Now the thought of being stuck watching this contrived “miracle baby” storyline is just so painful!! That’s the best they can do??
How insulting is it as a viewer, that we are to believe Jason would ever forgive Sam for watching his child (or any child) be kidnapped?? And to add more insult, that a scene where Sam claims to have been in a “bad place” is supposed to redeem her character? It’s horrible writing like THAT and character assassination which will be the demise of this show.

I doubt very much that its an actor/actress that dictates what the writers are going to write about. Or they would actually agree to ones demand on who they want to work with and who they dont. Jason and Liz has been tried so many times, and it just never worked out. Their screen chemistry is just not there to most, and their characters are just not compatible to say the least. They were NEVER really together. Its insulting to other viewers to listen to the Jason/Liz fans minimmize the love story of Sam and Jason, yes and actual Love story! One with depth and meaning. Maybe its because they are good friends off screen, which is what both Steve b and Rebecca H stated in many interviews. Jason and Liz created the mind set that Sam was in when she watched Jake get kidnapped, and they should actually recgonize that as well. And Jason being who Jason is, IMO, was easy for him to forgive because he is one character that does not judge others actions, he has no right! Yes Jason and Liz have a baby, not made out of love at time, but rather a one night stand which by the way was the FIRST time they actually slept together and again that was not out of love! Not the love the some veiws think anyway. There are just as many Sam and Jason fans, if not more! As for the mircle baby, why not! I personally dont want them to have a baby because I like who they are and the bond they share because she cant have a baby and I think thats much deeper.
It is a tremendous loss for the actress herself, however, the character is not all peaches and cream and a saint as many would like to think she is. And if you want to talk character assassination, what about the character assassination they did to Sam when the writers once again tried to make Jason and Liz a couple. How sad is that. But….. Sam has made her peace and so has Jason and they are the most real couple on this show, honestly in terms of how they interact, vvery natural.
I dont think its fair to state that because the character is being written off, that the show wont last or you refuse to watch. What does that say for all the rest of the cast. In my opinion, its very closed minded. I personally dont want the character of Liz webber gone, because I think that they could have a great story with Liz and Lucky and Aiden. I also think that they can have a great story with Jason and Liz being co-parents that arent together!
If you dont want to watch because Liz Webber is the “focus” of this show, then dont watch, I doubt very much that the show will crumble because of one character being gone.
No one ever said Elizabeth was a saint…remember her roots? She was the troubled bad ass little teen and her sister was the saintly one.
And it’s not an actor who dictates what the writers write; they write for actors. Many actors negotiate storylines in their contracts. Regardless, it’s not going to bring back a great character with substance and family roots o the show. Jason and Liz fans are not “minimizing” JaSam’s “love story” but probably feel more cheated than anything. Just look at those old scenes where you can really appreciate their history.
Your point is so right: LOTS of storyline with Lucky and Aiden….that’s the point I’m making with bad writing….does anyone remember Kate? We were forced to believe this ridiculous history Sonny had with her…the writers invested so much in them where eventually the viewers bought it and actually liked them. Where is she now?? Hanging off of Coleman? Character Assassination…including Sam along with so many others.
Anyway, there are many other excellent actors and storylines and the viewers will continue to watch. As for the miracle baby, sure why not? Just an overdone and contrived storyline…the writers can do better…like you say, let Jason and Sam rediscover and enjoy each other as they are.
The show won’t and isn’t crumbling because of one character gone…it can be attributed to the writers lack of authenticity in their writing. As for fans reactions, it’s mere loyalty and investment of time.
Actually, if you read all the comments, yes, that is exactly what people are saying that she is a saint, they arent gonna watch any more, she is the heart of this show, really, the heart of this show? Which doesnt speak well for other characters.
I have watched the old clips, Ive watched for a long time, and like I said Liz and Jason were neve really together. I know what their story is Ive watched it from the begining. In my opinion, they dont belong together. The love story between Sam and Jason was ruined for a what I call a friendship, it was not a love story between Jason and Liz, sorry.
I heard the rumor that they are keeping her on, I just hope they dont go down the Jaosn and Liz road AGAIN for it not to work. Hope they keep her with Lucky and or Nik. Better yet put her with Jax, or maybe Johnny. Liz and Jason are boring,

How do you think the Jason and Sam fans feel about the writers ruining their love story for a one night stand that created a baby. And why not have a baby for Jason and Sam? So what? It was more of Liz choice to not have Jason be a part of Jakes life cuz she couldnt handle his job, never could!
Laurie it IS only your opinion. This isn’t about sainthood, and that’s what it seems you are inferring from the posts. Both Sam and Liz were NEVER saints on the show. That’s the beauty of television, we watch characters grow and evolve. It’s just a forum for people to express their views about what we have invited into our living rooms for years. We have grown up with so many characters. I personally cannot stand how they’ve written Elizabeth and a lot of other characters for that matter, Sam included. It goes back to how the writers are all over the place with the way the direction/lack of direction of their storylines. Nik and Liz were so out of character and clearly that was done before Jonathan Jackson reprised his former-role. Then the writers scrambled to rewrite Liz and Nik all over again; it goes back to writing with n direction. I think when people are saying they don’t want to watch is NOT because they got rid of “Saint Liz” but because of the way so many characters have hit the high road. Look at the Quartermaines; who is even really left from this core family? Getting rid of Genie Francis? It’s decisions like THAT which have left people saying they don’t wanna watch anymore…it’s called exasperation. The show is not what it used to be for a lot of reasons , axing core characters from the canvas and putting others on the backburner. And you don’t have to be together to have a “love story” either. That is why fans feel cheated with Jason and Liz whom by the way, the actors themselves felt cheated when they broke them up and moved in a different direction (great article with Burton and Herbst, by the way). Fans only got a small sampling of them together. I don’t care if they put them together or not, it just seems unnecessary to write a good character with roots and ties to the show into a corner only to let her go after 14 years. Maybe there is truth to the rumour you heard. Good to know. Who knows, maybe they will pair her up with someone else other than Jason? But why not have her alone for a change too? Anyway, hopefully the show does better than it has been because soaps are a dying breed and I’d hate to see another one of my favourites go off the air.
