GH True Port Charles Story: Luke Spencer … Video Recap Of The Good, The Bad & The Ugly Of The Iconic Character!

Courtesy/ABC
Last week, viewers were witness to the long held secret of the Spencer family that only Patricia Spencer (Dee Wallace) and Luke (Anthony Geary) had known, only Luke repressed the memories of the fateful night when he murdered his father and accidentally killed his mother! After GH fans finally understood what caused Luke to be “Fluke”, the process begins for him to heal.
As a tribute to the twists and turns of the most iconic of all soap opera characters, General Hospital put together a video retrospective done as a riff on E!’s True Hollywood Story, on the life and times of Luke Spencer going all the way back to his childhood beginnings through today.
From his life with Laura (Genie Francis) and life on the run, to his alcoholism and running over little Jake, to the feud with the Cassadines, to his psychotic breakdown and the Fluke story, it’s all contained within this four minute plus video.
Check GH True Port Charles: Luke Spencer after the jump! Then let us know what has been your favorite storyline involving Luke Spencer of all-time?
Most all his stories have been good…especially from the late 70s to early 80s…
LOL
Jimh
The most coveted rating is; the 18-49 demographic..
soaps are written primarily for those numbers..
Most were not even born yet; 70’s and early 80’s..
so they don’t care about the good old days LOL 🙂
GH rocks!!
the 52nd was more than great !!! watched it twice ..
Su—sorry but you are wrong…i have a neice in that demo who does care about each characters history and i know others here like CeeCee who is always happy to learn something about the show’s history…plus MF asked our favorite Luke storyline and did not say from the last five years…had you not missed the soaps at their best you would be singing a different tune but unfortunately you werent there so there is no way you can honestly compare the 70s to the 80s to soaps today! But im glad you are part of soaps today and enjoy GH…soaps futures depend on your age group to keep the genre alive…and im glad i came from the generation who made this happen for you!!!…always love your enthusiam for GH!!!
Just check youtube comments for that demographic for clips dating backing to this era – Luke and Laura especially – that delight in the good ole days…myself included.
You are right, Jimh
Also–
I have talked with others who have no idea who Luke and Laura were etc..
I only know because reading about it/them, but millions do not come to the soap boards, just us very special fans do lol 🙂
I hope ALL the soaps never die; just like rock & roll !!
You go, Jimh. You rock! Not only do I absorb everything you write, but I love hearing about the soaps’ history and especially the lavish stories both my grrandmothers relate to me.
Then again jimh, I am an old soul at heart…LOL.
Lukes life has been great adventure!
Luke truly is a big part of General Hospital..
I am excited to continue onward with Luke’s journey!!!
(they got it right- I’m in til the end)
Pretty good synopsis of so many years. Annoying, though i have no use for the Cassadines, that Stavros’s name kept being pronounces Starvros or something like that.
What a resume! The legendary Anthony Geary!
“Stravos” Cassadine? Lol
LOL. EXACTLY! For a proper tribute, dude (narrator), get your FACTS straight! It’s Stavros dork, not Stravos. I was appalled when the narrator first said the name wrong. That’s very insulting to we long time fans of over 30 years!
My favorite storyline is the favorite of TG and Genie Francis: Luke and Laura on the run, with rapid-fire dialogue a la Frank Capra and “It Happened One Night.” (See Genie Francis and TG talk about this in their interviews for the American Academy of Television.) Watch on Youtube. It was, as they say, the 2 characters “against the world,” a “Romeo and Juliet” takeoff, taking with them an audience that felt they were there. That’s drama!
My favorite they have not filmed yet! Luke’s exit never to be seen or heard about again! Just kidding ! I could not help myself the devil made me say that! Probably in all seriousness would be Luke & Laura’s 15th wedding anniversary and they were down in the Catacombs dancing because everyone thought they were estranged! Sorry I’m a sucker for romance!

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
