GH’s Nancy Lee Grahn who was unable to attend the festivities won for Outstanding Supporting Actress (her second in this category), and Jonathan Jackson picked up his fifth Daytime Emmy for his role as Lucky Spencer in the Supporting Actor category.
Days of our Lives, Chandler Massey took home his first Emmy for his role as Will Horton in the Younger Actor category as did Christel Khalil for her role as Lily Winters on The Young and the Restless. One of the biggest surprises of the night was Days of our Lives win for Outstanding Writing Team in a Drama Series!

Let us know what you think of the winner’s list! And overall, were you pleased at whose names were called to the podium last night at the Emmys?
Listen, congrats to all the winners, but this show totally blew! I heard more crickets than anythingelse. Was it too late to secure the rights to the shows’ themes so they could play as the show winner made their way to the stage? And what about that tribute to AMC and OLTL? Oh, that’s right, it was turned into a true Erica Kane segment where Susan Lucci gushed about herself. What was that all about? Why was Erika Slezak minimized to a few sentences and nothing mentioned about the vast contributions from the stars on these two shows? Where were the video clips? This was THE worse “tirbute” segment I have EVER seen! And Erike Slezak was robbed of her Leading Actress win. Tom’s a great actress, but stacked next to Slezak??? Never. It was so sad to watch this snooze-fest full of stupid awards for things like best AOL viral video. I mean, really? And contrary to what they kept forcing the presenters to say, daytime is not well and growing. It’s the soap opera viewers who are the loyalists; not those who catch these grandiose infomercials that clutter the rest of daytime TV. It was just so sad to see so few familiar faces. Next year, I would be satisfied to see pictures and read a report of the awards rather than suffer through another poorly produced show that disrespects a genre I love.
What Rodd said!
Lucci’s narcissism is unbearable. She embarrassed herself. Who would want to watch anything with her after this?
Your right it was awful how she behaved, How many times did she say the name Ericka Kane? Very disappointed in her, but not at all surprised. I know after last nights good bye to only Ericka KAne I could care less about her, I wanted to see and hear from ERICKA SLEZAK not Ericka KAne. What a Waste. Rodd, Rebecca, And david your all right.
Here’s what we should have seen, an excellent video tribute to OLTL: https://t.co/26WbbvFt
Here’s what OLTL cast tweeted about televised “tribute”:
Kassie DePaiva, “Omg… That was the OLTL tribute????”
Robin Strasser, “Worried that it wasn’t really a tribute to #AMC #OLTL but to Susan Lucci. Grateful once Cam and Erika came on it became a tribute to FANS:)”
Hillary B. Smith, “Just watched Emmys. Did I miss the OLTL trubute? And a clip from 1999 for the OLTL directors? Confused and sad! . . . Totally lame and ungracious. The soaps are what built the daytime audience. We were reduced to a visit on stage by Slezak.”
It was truly the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Not only the narcissistic speech of Susan Lucci, going on and on about ERICA KANE…..but I was thoroughly pissed by the introduction that Agnes Nixon and Ricky Paul Goldin….addressing Susan Lucci as the queen of daytime. I am a fan and all, but when you’re standing next to a 6 time Emmy winner for Outstanding Leading Actress, don’t you think that title is a little exaggerated? Agnes Nixon didn’t even mention OLTL! Excuse my language but, WTF?! And I’m sick to death of seeing Cameron Mattheson representing AMC!! His character was totally despised by a large number of fans, by the end of the show, so I don’t understand why he is always the mouthpiece for the show. I would have much rather preferred to see Michael E Knight on stage. And they should have done AMC separately from OLTL, rather than throw this lame excuse of a tribute together. They were two different shows with two different casts and deserved their own respective tributes. Susan Lucci just made herself look like a complete fool. And could she please talk like a normal human being…..it was just embarrassing. It’s a shame because neither show will ever get the respect that they deserved.
Totally agree. I have been a fan of OLTL for 25 years. It did not surprise me that the tribute would not due it justice. OLTL never got the respect it deserved the emmys.
Congrats GH, heres hoping for many more. The award show itself was not as impressive but considering everything thats been going on this past year with daytime in general, i’m glad the community was able to get together to celebrate, hope this will be a turn around for better things to come.
Very disappointed that Ericka Slezak didn’t win her 7th. Aside from that General hospital did great, I hope Abc/disney was paying attention to those emmys, next year they should win again because gh has gotten even better, It was nice that hln had the emmys however, I found it to be very, very boring, At least it wasn’t a 3 ringed circus, They only had 3 weeks to put it together so I will give them a break, I did like Oscars singing at the beginning, My biggest complaint is that awful, terrible, music they played while they were introducing the soap stars, then when they walked up to the stage, then left the stage, who ever wrote that stuff, It was bad. Glad I watched, seemed kind of long. Now for the all my children and One life to live goodbye, PLEASE, for heavens sake why was Susan lucci up there to go on, and On, about ERicka Kane? what about Vicki Lord Bucannan? I was very disappointed in that, It was one sided and we know in who’s favor and that was WRONG. They should have had clips of one life to live then all my children, done separately, then have agnus nixon on, between the two ladies that made those soaps. That was the biggest disappointment for me. Congratulations general hospital I am glad you won big time last night, However I believe gh’s win was really One life to lives, their stories last year for 2011 and all the years before that were far better, so in my heart my characters from Landview won. They will always be the winners to me.
Agree that I am willing to give a pass on the production due to the time frame they had to put it together. Glad that they even attempted.
That being said, there were things that made me roll my eyes and/or be glad I watched it via DVR and has the fast forward option.
I was terribly disappointed that Erika Slezak and Bob Woods did not win. Consolation is that they will have one last shot next year since OLTL still aired during the qualifying period.
I wonder if they did not have access to some of the clips or just made poor choices. For instance, one of the clips shown for OLTL showed Viki & Kevin as portrayed by Timothy Gibbs!
I have to say I was appalled and furious with the “tribute” to AMC & OLTL. WHAT tribute? It was a gushing, over-the-top, masterbatory presentation by Susan Lucci celebrating nothing but herself. (Disclaimer: Though I watched AMC Ms. Lucci was never a favorite and I often wondered how she remained employed.) The short shrift and bare minimum lines given to Erika Slezak was disgusting. I am sure that had she not wanted to disappoint fans she would have refused to even take part in that sham. One moment that made me laugh out loud (if you taped it watch it again) was when Lucci put her arms around Mathison and Erika Slezak and Erika gave a look like, ” Really? What’s up with that?”. I am pretty sure by the way Erika Slezak walked off at that fast pace and went in front of Lucci she was NOT pleased.
Overall, am I happy that HLN aired the show? Yes. Do I hope it is aired again in 2013? Yes. Hopefully, with a year to prepare they will present a more polished show.
I can see we both think alike and agree with each other about the emmys.
Love your remarks about Slezak and Lucci. I pray someone uploads this clip to YouTube. Erika had every right to be offended. The treatment of OLTL and Slezak was disgusting beyond belief.
The whole show was a joke. OLTL should not have been snubbed. How’s the Revolution working out for you ABC?
Ovreall, I was pleased with the presentation. Although I was disappointed that Erica Slezak and Bob Woods didn’t win in their categories. On the other hand, I am happy about GH being the big winner for the night. Kind of a slap in the face to ABC for as Tony Geary aptly put it, that this show was up for possible cancellation last year in favor of a reality “boob job gone bad” show. So, take THAT ABC! Congrats to Geary and all of the GH family! Considering the awards show was done on a shoestring and with very little time to put it together, I thought overall, it was well done and a tremendous improvement over last years 2 hour long commercial for Las Vegas. I also appreciate the way HLN showcased the soap factor on their homepage. Thanks HLN for giving the daytime Emmy show a home on television!
My DVR cut out the last half hour of the show, thank you for the update!
The amc one life tribute was soo dissapointing why would they not show clips. And it is an absolute crime Erika sleaze did not win leading actress did heather Tom even aknowledge her fellow nominees
Sorry for spelling of slezak.
Great show congrats to all the winners, thank you HLN for airing it but, we were disappointed that OLTL and AMC were overlooked but, still very happy for GH and the other soap opera winners.
I am happy Gh won outstanding …………Now abc can see how popular GH is & leave it alone permantely………………………………………………….Hurray for Anthony Geary!!!! And Alexis…………..OLTL didn’t get not even one award!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is really a bummer……………………………………For my favorite soap………………….
OLTL won for lighting direction in the creative arts section awarded June 17th: https://www.emmyonline.tv/mediacenter/daytime_39th_creative_winners.html
Whoop DEE Doo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That isn’t anything major award … So dissappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I met outstanding drama For GH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If not for OLTL.. I am glad GH WON !!!!!!!!!!OLTL will alway’s have a special place in my heart…………………….
REALLY wanted Crystal Chappell to win for Carly. I think it would have been a great moment for her since things did not go well over at Days and she worked her ass off over that drug storyline… even getting physically sick to perform well… but i know the Emmys usually go for stuff like “Lucky 7” and a feat of winning all Actress categories… even if CC didn’t win, i think Debbi should have. NO disrespect to Heather Tom, she is an amazing actress and does well on B&B but if it really came down to the acting and story for why they were nominated… so many were robbed… ya know? I always feel the Emmys have a totally different view on who should win than the fans do. But thats JMO. Also days winning for best writing? Yep, SHOCKER! Since not many fans are pleased with the writing. I assume Days had to submit Wills coming out story cause that is the ONLY good story that they have. But Chandler winning was to me a big highlight!
Erika Slezak got robbed!
Yes she was.
Another victorious night for GH and another blow in the face of OLTL which is very sad given that it was OLTL’s last chance.
I wasn’t impress with the “tributes” for AMC and OLTL either. But I don’t think this surprise anyone given the lame “tributes” they gave to GL and ATWT the years before.
Forgot where I read this but because one life to live lasted longer then all my children after they were cancelled. I heard that one life to live can be in the awards next year. I hope so , I would like to find out if that is true. Seemed like it was a tribute to ericka Kane, it was lame. and the music they played, it was bad. However, I did like Oscar.
Congratulations to ALL Emmy winners. But especially to Heather Tom! The first actress who won a Younger Actress, Supporting Actress and Leading Actress Emmy. Heather made History Last night.
Ok I did not watch so their was no one to stand up & praise OLTL & AMC?? Why did RC&FV not discuss OLTL and could you not have had Agnes Nixon also to give a tribute?
What does it mean that Days of our Lives won best writing???? They just canned all of their writers and now have new ones?????
1. GH
2. DAYS – for the millionth, billionth, trillionth, time.. DAYS would be #1.
3. B&B
4. Y&R Why cut, let go, of Ashley and Traci Abbott… ? My ratings! Take that Mrs. Nielson!
I almost, got on the edge of my seat (wetness)… could they reward, DAYS best soap… after winning writing?
I glad that days of our lives won writing team (it was a shocker) and so glad chandler massey won younger actor and nancy lee grahn won supporting actress. I disappointed that amc and oltl did win a thing. Gh should not won almost every award ;I darnell deserve lead actor and matthew ashford deserve supporting. Well here hoping that it will be different next year.
“Truth is, I have an out of town commitment that I made prior to the announcement of Emmy Nominations that I must honor.”
So when GH’s Nancy Lee Grahn won and tweeted she was watching the broadcast in her pajamas, her prior commitment was a slumber party?
I don’t know what to say. What r ratings for? One Life To Lives ratings were higher than AMC, and way above GH. One Life To Live usually gets snubbed. For what reason who knows. We THE FANS liked OLTL best, yet it was still cancelled and snubbed at the Emmys. This is a joke at this point. I like Heather Tom too. But not to win against my leading lady of Llanview, Erika Slezak! Next to that would, and should have been Debbie Morgan. She rocked her child loss blind story. I shed many tears over that story. I’m just very dissapointed, but I don’t know what I expected. My show, OLTL is gone forever with a piece of my heart. Xoxo to the former cast of OLTL. I miss you, and love you, and my everyday life is not the same without you.
That’s what I thought, If Our Ericka Slezak who should have won, Didn’t, Debby Morgan should have, Like you said I cried watching that to, I like Heather Tom, But how she beat out those two talents blows my mind, Whoever makes up their mind to who should get the emmy does not do their homework and they do not watch the soaps all year, and that is what they should be forced to do, Is there any where we can complain? Because I have several things to say to the, who chooses who gets the emmy group, because they made several mistakes.
Ps, the music sucked, but thanks HLN for doing your best and bringing the show to us fans.
Ditto Bruce.
I was surprised that we didn’t see any clips. That music they kept playing got on my nerves. Did they only have one tune? I didn’t like that people were up and walking around during the show. When Eric Braeden came out, it took forever for him to speak. One of the best parts was the alligator trying to eat the Emmy.
Happy Chandler, Heather, and Days won. Was surprised Christel won.
It wasn’t the best show, but I do think it was better than last year’s with their travelmercial. I also would have liked to have had a host.
I thought it odd all the fuss about Erica and yada yada yada, oh sorry, Susan Lucci. She seems to get a lot of press and airtime.
For me, the major thing missing was not seeing clips. I mean, real clips with audio and video. Especially of the ones nommed for best drama. Well, we have improvements to make for next year. Let’s find a channel now so we can start the planning.
The In Memoriam was nice, but I was surprised the day actor who killed himself was included. Whatev.
Just curious…why shouldn’t the actor who killed himself NOT be included?? That was a terrible tragedy. Probably one of the saddest stories ever. He was a really nice guy.
Who was he? What was his name?
Wasn’t he just on a few times? And not well known.
That was sad and it was good that he was included, he is dead because he had no where to turn and that alone should stand out as a reminder that there are people in his case that cared so much for his critter that he is dead because of a few people who made his life a living hell in a place that was his home because they didn’t like his dog and they changed the rules to drive this poor man crazy and he had no where to go.
Yes, very sad…and people who know dogs, they are like people, little children with Fur! And that was his Buddy..Too many people in this world are mean.
I don’t like anyone who doesn’t like dogs!!
This story was sooooooo sad,..on so many levels ..I agee 100% A reminder.
Maybe not a houshold name , such as Susan Lucci, perhaps , but part of their community, ..
I don’t think that matters.
Wow! Thank goodness all you fans recognized what I did…that Susan Lucci gave herself fifteen minutes of time to talk about herself and then brought up Erica Slezac, the best soap actor of all time and slighted her and Erica even had to bend sideways to get to the mike. I was appalled. Who the hell does Lucci think she is ? And who gave her the power? Shady. doings! I was laughing when only one person applauded and Lucci toward that one person and said in her saccharine way…thank you…nobody cares ,Susan. Get over yourself…
La Lucci…. she should have barbied out in her sable fur wrap…. stating… she’s Ms. Marc Cherry…. A woman on Lifetime…. “I celebrate for, You!”
Vapors – Consumption – Palpitations… LOL… Erica Kane… lives.
Appalled… is putting it mildly…. Grandiose… Prose….
Where do I begin? First off, I’ll start by saying that I’m glad that HLN was there to Air the show, however IT WAS AWAFUL. The entire production, from the horrible replayed music backround, to the repeated award nominations on computer ..uuuggh. But The worst…………………….
Was the entire sham of a show, and the OBVIOUSLY slap in the face to OLTL.
Next the Susan Lucci PC Thank you crap…??? WHAT WAS THAT EXACTLY???
Her speech on ERICA CANE?? And then for Cameran Mathesian, and Erika Slezak, to say What 4, 5 words???
OLTL was, and always will be the Best Soap EVER to be on Television. Period. There is, and was no other like it. GH, Has been like it, and now is moving into being The best, as it once was, before it became all about the MOB and sonny. With Ron Calivati there, it is now EXCELLENT!!! Love it.
I also believe that Susan , erika, and cameran, appeard for the fans. I believe if they really said what they TRULY FELT, They would have been on stage for 3 hours! I really bothered me to watch them have to be gut wrenchingly PC…it was horrible.
I think Susan Lucci should have made it more about All of the actors, techs, writers etc…of all of the abc canc soaps..not about her character……it was not comfortable to watch. It was awful.
I do give the production company a break, being not on network, they may not have been allowed to show the clips or they could have been to expensive, but at least they showed the photos of the actors.
I am happy about all the GH wins, thought I would not have minded if AMC got the Best Daytime Drama award, and it would have been nice if Erica Slezak got her final award. But who know she might get a chance next year for the two week stint into the year!
I didn’t watch the show, but I am grateful that “Y & R” did not win any of the major awards (Best Drama Series, Best Writing Team). Perhaps this will be a wake-up call to CBS/SONY and with any luck, some behind-the-scenes housecleaning will come about sooner than later. “Y & R” is really getting to the point where I can barely watch it: the silly, plot-driven and plodding stories; one-note vapid characters created to push lame story while legacy characters are shoved into the background and the new characters are shoved at the viewer; an over-bloated cast full of unnecessarily SORAS’ed offspring; major damages done to the show’s timeline for story’s sake – my listing could go on…
So glad “Y & R” crapped out at the Emmys – please show Maria Arena Bell the way OUT of the building please!!!
Christel Khalil Won–Hell Yeah!!!! One of the best Actors on Daytime and drop dead gorgeous to boot! Also thrilled Chandler Massey and Heather Tom won–both great at their craft. I can understand the displeasure of ABC Soap Fans who watched their Favs ignored this year in favour of its remaining soap Mob Central, but pity Y&R viewers who have, thanks to Maria and that former ABC Coordinator, latched on to every Insignificant kicked from under the ABC Daytime umbrella since February 2008 (yup you know who you are!) If Y&R is to survive CBS/Sony need to come in immediately and hoover up the place, starting with the no-talent HW/EPs and all of that ABC excess heaped on Bill Bell’s once pride and joy! With all the damage MAB has done to Bill Bell’s Legacy it appears to all and sundry his widow and his Family really don’t give a damn each day she remains at the helm!
also ,I forgot to mention, It also bothered me that it seemed as though, this emmy show, not only went out of it’s way to Dis OLTL , but Also praise so called REALITY T.V as well/….gave awards out, …constantly brought up these stupid “reality” programs, THE DOCTORS ..SOOOOOOOOOOO awful imo… terrible not scripted, written shows full of sex talk , for shock value, Dr oz paradeing body parts pout on a table (getting old) for shock value, it’s another way to very subliminally work these crappy programs into our lives. These network exec’s think WE need them to tell us how to live, eat , breathe 24/7..oh, but what a sham..it’s all about producing a cheap crappy show, full of sex talk, to get the lowest form of life to watch, and get rid of our soaps. Jerry Springer Lives on. CRAP T.V horrible people, and low life topics. I hate it.
CK from Y&R – REALLY????!!!!!!!!
EXACTLY!!!!!!!! What scene did she submit?
I watched the clip “Susan Lucci salutes Erica Kane, canceled soaps” from the Daytime Emmys
https://www.hlntv.com/video/2012/06/23/susan-lucci-tribute-erica-kane-and-cancelled-soaps
There was NO tribute to OLTL other than the mere mention of its name, before which Lucci goes on and on about Erica Kane. OLTL deserved so much better than this. No clips, no mention of the other actors who had been on OLTL for decades. No nothing.
I feel sorry for anyone who has to be in the same room with Lucci, let alone work with her. Devious Maids is doomed.
Why was Cameron Matheson out there with Lucci and Slezak? It should’ve been the two leading ladies of the cancelled series introducing retrospective clips of our shows.
As for Slezak’s loss — I’m shocked. Heather Thom is a great actress but she didn’t have the material Slezak did. Of course, once I saw that had OLTL failed to garner Best Show or Best Writing nods, I knew it was yet another shut-out year for that great show.
Cameron Matheson is all over like “you know what”. He’s on Good Morning America, TNT and just this afternoon saw him in a 2012 movie for Lifetime with Sidney Penny. He must know someone or he’s an incredible brown noser. As for Susan Lucci, she seems to be all over the place too. Why was she chosen to do the “tribute”? All she did was talk about herself and her character. God forbid she should give up the microphone to Erica Slezak. Poor Ms. Slezak. Traveled 3000 miles to be snubbed and crowded out from the microphone. Disgraceful!
This is why I didn’t even bother watching it. After 2 years of las vegas, the show no longer deserves my attention. Besides I can barely stand the Academy awards since they stopped awarding good movies and American films. Awards shows are clearly showing their stupidity lately.
I do not know who posted this post above, but it was not me, and it has MY NAME ON IT. Please remove it. OI did not write that post.
I was so dissapointed… where was the Tribute(s)… for OLTL & AMC? No clips… for either show… and No clips… for the work of the nominees. was it a contractual, stipulation… from the ABC Network… perhaps… time constraints didn’t “permit” HLN approval… to air…. their work? Geez! let alone… i, had hoped, at the very least… pan the audience… so we can see our beloved Stars… take their turn. Who was in attendance… ? Gosh! prior shows… you’d see, the cast*s*… standing on their feet celebrating.. wins… and cheering on their peers.
Best Actor – Anthony Geary – GH. I can accept this… his speech was impassioned. what choice do i have… i like to see the emmy… passed around… celebrated. I was hoping for Robert S. Woods… FOR OLTL.
Dag! It honestly, felt, to me… they weren’t celebrating… paying homage… giving tribute to the Genre…. that is daytime. there would be no daytime.. had it not been for soaps… OK.. we have 4. you can’t not, agree… that everything else before and after those 4 SHOWS…. are FILLER.
Best actress… Heather Tom? – THIS was the SHOCKER of the night. I completely, lost interest, after this. heck, i’d have rather, seen Erika Slezak… win… and that’s not my first choice… it was, Crystal Chappelle, 1st – Debbi Morgan, 2nd – Laura Wright, 3rd – Erika Slezak, 4th – and LASTLY… all things considered… she’s small fry compared.. to her peers. She’s a perennial nominee… i’ll give her that. Congrats.. Just the same.
DAYS WINS 2! Writing… and Chandler Massey – Will. I thought… Dag! writing… ?1?! could we win for best soap? to no avail…. GH… is the frontrunner… currently. The Robin and Patrick story, is forever, etched in my memory banks…
Jonathon Jackson… again. God.. he’s like this gothic monolithic portrait… of daytime… i’d have liked to have seen him laugh, romance, make out… sing and dance…. he portrays that dark, brooding, inner, turmoil, angst, with the best of them. nuff said… he’s a favorite… and rightly so… i truly, wanted Jason Thompson… “Patrick” to win… as i’ve posted before… not having… Kimberly McCullough, nominated… took the wind out of my sail.
Nancy Lee Grahn… Alexis – I thought this was the “weakest” category.. no clear, frontrunner… across the board… i thought, maybe… Rebecca Herbst… because, of public outcry for her being let go and rehired… and, she did have good story, with the loss of her son, Jake.
Ok.. that leaves… younger supporting actress… the “girl” from Y&R… you gotta give y&r some thing… i was hoping for DAYS Molly Burnett.
Ok… like every year… being a DAYS fan… i never got too caught up… with… the winners… i just wanted to see daytimes finest… parading… too and fro…
I hoped for more… show… of AMC and OLTL, acknowledgement… The actors, cast, and crew… writers… producers, directors. i’m glad HLN stepped up to the plate and gave us something.
Lastly, DAYS FANS… the passing of Lexie…. Renee Jones, and James Reynolds… are commanding performances. Salute to Abe and Lexie… and lil’ Theo.
Bad as some of the show was, let’s just be glad it aired and hope that HLN will do a better job next year when they have more time to plan. I know that’s why the music was so bad and there were so few different presenters.
I was disappointed in many of the winners, but that’s the daytime Emmy’s for you. If you’re not an avid, long-time viewer of a show, of course you are disappointed if someone from that show won.
All My Children
‘All My Children’ Episodes to Stream on Pluto TV Canada
Starting on May 1, All My Children fans in Canada will be able to see classic episodes of the beloved former ABC soap opera when they stream on Pluto TV Canada.
Pluto TV picked-up the All My Children Channel that the Nixon family has created in partnership with BEONDTV +. The show which aired for 41 years on ABC and ended on the network in 2011, had so many memorable storylines and characters; the least of which is the enduring run of Erica Kane played by soap icon, Susan Lucci.
As previously reported, starting with episodes from the year 1995, which was the 25th anniversary of the soap. Pluto TV Canada viewers will be able to catch 8 episodes on repeat per day. With the success of the venture, the Nixons are hopeful that they will bring viewers many more years of the show to come.

Sarah Nixon, producer, shared with Michael Fairman TV exclusively, “We are thrilled that Pluto TV has launched All My Children in Canada! Let’s hope the engagement from our incredibly loyal fans across the border will encourage ABC to bring it to the U.S.! We share what Aggie (Agnes Nixon) always felt, that it is the enthusiasm and love from the fans that has kept this legacy beloved and relevant – to this day!”
In addition, 0ne week ago, during Susan Lucci’s visit to Los Angeles promoting her book La Lucci, she was joined by her former Pine Valley castmates, Rebecca Budig (ex-Greenlee, AMC, now Taylor, B&B) and Eva LaRue (ex-Maria, AMC) and the trio posed for a pic. At that time, LaRue shared via Instagram, “NEW All My Children channel streaming classic episodes 24/7 now on Pluto TV Canada! Fingers crossed to watch soon on Pluto US.”
That was also confirmed this week by TV Watercooler’s Jeevan Brar who took to X and expressed, “The All My Children channel begins streaming this Friday, May 1 on Pluto TV Canada.
So, Canadian viewers, excited about Pluto TV’s All My Children channel? United States fans, hopeful from Sarah’s message that perhaps soon, we can see the beloved soap once again as well? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Mark Consuelos Mourns the Loss of His Father
Saul Consuelos, the father of All My Children alum and Live with Kelly and Mark co-host, Mark Consuelos (ex0-Mateo, AMC), has died. During an emotional moment on this mornings, April 6 edition of the syndicated talk show, Mark shared, that his dad, “passed away peacefully” back on March 23 following a long illness.
His wife and co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) paid tribute to her her father-in-law expressing, he was, “the greatest person I’ve ever known. I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He really is so symbolic of everything you are.”
Kelly and Mark’s children, Joaquin, Michael and Lola Consuelos are said to be taking this extremely hard. Ripa added, “This is the first loss they’ve ever experienced in their lives. And I said, ‘By the time I was 8, I had no grandparents. You got to grow up (with grandparents). You got to have deep, meaningful conversations (with them).”

In another moment, Mark reflected on his dad. “It’s funny, I used to make a joke about my dad … if you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how to build a watch. There were a lot of lectures, a lot of lectures and I learned so much. If he was fixing something in the house, he’d make me watch and do it. And I didn’t know at the time why he was doing that. But now at the house, I’m able to do at least half of the stuff that he did. I learned the most by just watching him.”
Mark added that Saul Consuelos came to the U.S. from Mexico in his early teens and served our county for decades, detailing, he “Ended up at Special Operations Command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education from the navy. Was always going to school. Was brilliant. Got his Masters while I was a kid. He loved his country so much, If you’re going to put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people.”
In a very heart-tugging moment, Consuelos shared that now its important they be there for his mother, Camilla. “We gotta take care of mom. We’re trying to convince my mom to move to New York. She’s such a character, she’s stubborn. What do you think, a cooking segment here on Fridays with Camilla?”
Now below, watch the very touching and emotional moments as Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa mourn the loss of Saul Consuelos.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Visits ‘The View’ Where Hosts Sidestep Controversial ‘Buffy’ Reboot Axing, But Talk ‘All My Children’
On yesterday’s March 17 episode of The View, All My Children alum, Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart), was the special guest. Since Monday, Gellar has been the subject of a hot-button issue since about the surprising turn of events that the highly-anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, in which she stars, and which was directed in the pilot by Oscar-winning director, Chloé Zhao, was no longer moving forward.
Gellar‘s appearance on the ABC morning talk show was devoid of any mention of Hulu cancelling its planned Buffy: New Sunnydale, in which Sarah was set to appear along with Ryan Kiera Armstrong. However, Gellar did discuss her new movie Ready or Not 2: Here I Come from Searchlight Pictures.
It should be noted that both Hulu and Searchlight Pictures are owned by The Walt Disney Company, while The View is produced by ABC News, which is also owned by The Walt Disney Company.

During the awkward interview, when it became clear the ‘Buffy’ reboot topic was off the table, The View co-host Sunny Hostin, talked about the “intense fight scenes” that have become a staple of her TV and film career starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream 2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The ladies of The View also brought up Sarah’s beginnings on All My Children as Kendall Hart (1993-1995), showing a scene with her and her on-screen mother, the iconic Erica Kane, played by Susan Lucci. The discussion sprung out of another All My Children alum, Michael B. Jordan (ex-Reggie Montgomery) winning the Oscar this past Sunday for Best Actor for his role in Sinners. The View’s Joy Behar was quick to point out with Gellar, the All My Children alums that have gone on to great fame.

Previously on Monday, Gellar opened up to PEOPLE about being blindsided before while at the SXSW Film & TV Festival premiere for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. “I got the call as we were stepping onto stage for the premiere of their own movie. And it’s also the weekend of Chloé going to the Oscars as a best director nominee for Hamnet. For them to call us on the Friday of what should have been Chloé’s victory lap for an incredible film, and my world premiere of something that I worked very hard for is… that says something.”
She went to say, “We had an executive on our show who was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us that he had never seen the entirety of the series and how it wasn’t for him.” Deadline reports that “multiple sources” identified the executive as Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich.
“I loved the duality that we had with this new, younger slayer who was where Buffy was when the show started, and then we would pick up with where Buffy was now,” Gellar told People about the setup. However, according also to Deadline “After the pilot was completed and delivered, according to multiple sources, Hulu’s main note was that it played too young, with some indicating that the streamer also felt the show was too “small.”’
In the rewrite, sources also told the outlet that the writers did not take big enough swings, so they set out to do a rewrite it again. The last revision was more adult, featuring a lot more of Gellar’s Buffy, and was described as a more of a streaming show than a network one. When all is said and done there is hope that another Buffy IP will be up and running within the next couple of years.
