GH's Billy Miller Interview: The Challenges Of Playing "Jake", Writing Regime Switch & The Women Of Port Charles!

As the circle of people who know that “Jake Doe” is really the beloved Jason (Billy Miller) of Port Charles grows … cover-ups, secrets, blackmail, and more have caused the once upstanding characters of: Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) and even Laura (Genie Francis) to go to extreme measures to ensure that “Jake” does not learn his true identify.  Meanwhile, unbeknownst to each other, “Jake” is working closely with his true wife Sam (Kelly Monaco) to figure out the connection between Hayden (Rebecca Budig) being shot just as she was about to tell-all to the twosome, and Nikolas.  But now that Hayden has awakened from her coma, what does that mean for “Jake’s” future?

With no recollection of his past, and only flashes of moments that he can’t quite piece together, “Jake” has relied on Elizabeth’s kindness and understanding, and the two have fallen in love and are engaged to be married.  But, Liz is withholding the critical truth, so she can finally have her own chance at love with Jason.  To complicate matters further, Jason and Liz’s biological son, Jake, has returned from the dead!  Will “Jake” come to realize that this is his little boy?

Three-time Daytime Emmy winner Billy Miller is the man at the epicenter of this storyline on General Hospital that when all is revealed will resonate and shake-up the canvas in a massive way.  Miller, who left his successful run as Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless back at the end of 2013, joined GH in the fall of 2014, and was a recast in the role of Jason, played for two decades by popular fan favorite Steve Burton (now Dylan, Y&R).  While many fans of GH have commented that they are losing their patience with “Jake’s” story which feels stuck in neutral, behind the scenes a GH head writer switch saw ABC relieve Ron Carlivati of his duties, and the co-head writing team of Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante taking over the reins.  The women had previously written for Miller at Y&R.

On-Air On-Soaps chatted with Billy to get the scoop and the lowdown on all things “Jake”, the challenges he has faced since coming over to General Hospital, the criticism he has taken from naysayers, his thoughts on his Port Charles leading ladies, if we will see Jason Morgan, the enforcer re-team with Sonny (Maurice Benard), or if Jason Quartermaine emerges, or a hybrid of each, when “Jake” figures out who he really is, and more.  Candid, funny as all-get-out, charming, and one of the best in the biz, here’s what Billy shared.

You have been working very closely with Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) as your on-screen love interest. The two of you are creating this couple, and the character of Liz is completely lying to “Jake”!  What has it been like working with Becky in this capacity?

Courtesy/ABC

BILLY:  Well, you know what?  That is not the first girl who has ever lied to me.  Actually, it is usually the other way around, and so this is a breath of fresh air! (Laughs)  Becky is awesome, and she has that beautiful porcelain skin, which I have said before.  Let’s be honest.  All the girls on General Hospital are straight up gorgeous, and half of them are tiny, which is great for me because they make me look so tall. Yup, I’ve got Kelly Monaco (Sam) and Becky, and Rebecca Budig (Hayden). It’s like: “Jake and his Little Women”.

What did you think when they brought back Little Jake (James Nigbor)?  Were you going, “Wait a minute!  I’m ‘Jake’ and he is ‘Little Jake’!  How is this going to work?”

BILLY:  I first said, “Stop calling this boy ‘Little Jake’.  You are going to give him a complex. His name is Jake! (Laughs)  And my character’s name is really not ‘Jake’.”  They refuse to call me “Big Jake”, which by the way that’s not nice! (Laughs) We all want to be called “Big Jake”. (Laughs)  Don’t we?  Now, Jason Thompson (Patrick) likes to call me “Little Jake”. Nice of him!  Interestingly, we don’t give “Little Jake”, who is not that little by the way, an iPad, or a PlayStation to play with.  We give him a miniature toy motorcycle every day, and tell him to go play in the corner.  You know he is thinking: “I should go back to Helena’s (Constance Towers)!  I had a whole palace full of toys there!  I had minions I could order around, too!  Now I am stuck in this little house with ‘Big Jake’ and these little motorcycles.” (Laughs)

You have also been developing great on-screen chemistry with Kelly Monaco.  What are your thoughts on how that is shaping up, and playing to the audience?

Courtesy/ABC

BILLY:  People say, “He is supposed to be Jason.  He should have some romantic chemistry with Sam.”  I think that’s putting the cart before the horse.  At the moment, I’m playing Jake, who has a romantic interest in ElizabethLet’s not make him,“Two-Timing Jake”.  Don’t forget, this man doesn’t know who the hell he really is or that he’s actually married to Sam.  He doesn’t have an idea of himself or have a self-propelling trajectory.  “Jake” is like a new fish dropped in an old aquarium, and he is now trying to figure out the in’s and out’s of what is going on in this foreign world.  OK, it’s taken a year. He’s a little slow! (Laughs)  A character like Jake can’t start a scene, or a conversation really … he doesn’t have a sense of history or how things came to be so he doesn’t have anything to push off of.  The only thing “Jake” can do is react.  That is why it’s so important for him to hold on to the Elizabeth character in his life.  Liz is giving him all of this guidance, and has been there for him.  Now there were some flubs there with her taking up with Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), but he is a handsome bastard, so it’s OK. (Laughs) “Jake” is a good guy.  I can’t wait to get into the darker side of the character.  That has always come easier to me, and is so much fun to play.  I think a Jason Quartermaine – Jason Morgan – “Jake” collision would be fun to watch.  By that I mean, watching him come apart and watching him be deeply troubled in his mind, would be great.  It feels like I have been nibbling on some stuff for a while now, and I want to play.  But as far as Sam, that is Jake’s buddy.  He is not going to overly show: “Oh, I find myself attracted to this girl.”  I am not going to beat the audience over the head with it.

So, you are not playing that into your scenes with Kelly that there is this undeniable attraction?  Because in essence, these two are husband and wife, only Sam has no idea that “Jake” is her believed-to-be-dead husband Jason, and he doesn’t have a clue what she really means to him.

Courtesy/ABC

BILLY: No!  She is a friend, and it would be inappropriate.  Sam is with Patrick.  That behavior doesn’t make any sense coming from Jake.  We aren’t there yet guys, we will get there eventually.  I can’t over foreshadow “Jake’s” relationship with Sam.  Where I have been able to play and open up a little bit is with Elizabeth.  Remember, “Jake” has been manipulated the entire time he has been awake after being run over by a car, so he might have some trust issues.  Look, I’m working hard to make this come across as realistic as possible.  I think when we do that … we are doing right by the genre.  There are times I have heard that the fans say that, “He looks bored.”  I am not bored.  I just want it to be good and truthful.  Most of what I’ve had to play up until now is stillness.

The pacing of General Hospital has been very different than what you were, perhaps used to when you were over at The Young and the Restless.  Has that posed any challenges for you?

BILLY:  I am used to a more old-fashioned soap that has longer scenes.  GH had been having, up till now, faster moving scenes- which I called “little vignettes”.  It’s hard sometimes with those types of scenes, because you can sometimes feel you get cut off in the middle of your sentence.  I know there is a reason for it, and that is how we do it on this show.  It’s my job to make this work.  I have had some good days, and I have had some bad days where I could have done better.

One of my favorite scenes of yours was when “Jake” was talking to his mother, Monica (played by Leslie Charleson).  It was such a poignant scene as she recalled to this seemingly stranger the love she had for Jason, and what he meant to the Quartermaine family.

Courtesy/ABC

BILLY:  That is mom, and that was a real scene.  Being from the south, which I am, and walking into somebody’s home and talking to their mother, that is exactly how you would address them as we did in that scene.  It was like a mother and son scene, which was why it was ironic, fun, and a really cool scene. We didn’t have to shoot anybody. We didn’t have to pull a microchip out of our heads, and we didn’t have to play up to plot.  We were allowed to play two people sitting on a couch talking.  It is the best scene that I have had on GH thus far.

What do you think “Jake” will do when he finds out that Nikolas and Elizabeth have been lying and conspiring to keep the truth from him of his true identity?

BILLY:  I don’t know.  I don’t necessarily think a long wait between hearing who he is and remembering everything is good.  But, what I am really looking forward to playing is when those personalities collide, and they let me out of the gate a little bit, and help me stretch as an actor and work.  A lot of what we do on the soaps is exposition.  That’s a necessary part of the job. Though, this character has been idle for a long time, I don’t want people to lose interest.  Because he is a guy who is trying to figure stuff out – fish out of water type of guy – sometimes I like to play with a bit of comedy.  Then I get accused of throwing in Billy Abbott from Y&R.  Now I could see it being a little bit like Billy Abbott – but Billy had my asinine sarcastic attitude in him (Laughs) and with this guy “Jake” he has a lot more fire in him, which we are not quite ready to show just yet.  I think some levity is fun. I don’t want to mimic Steve Burton’s version of “Stone Cold.”  What Steve did was great.  I want to be able to go back and forth and try things.  Come on, having had so many brain surgeries the guy should be a little off!  Look, everybody wants the sexy bad guy, who can tell a joke, and who loves kids!  And that’s what we have right now.  Well, I’ve got to work on the “sexy” part, but we’ve got the rest! (Laughs)

Rebecca Budig is now on contract at GH.   She first appeared on the canvas in a ruse set up by Ric Lansing pretending to be “Jake’s” wife.  The two of you knew each other from your time on All My Children, correct?

Courtesy/ABC

BILLY:  Yes, but actually Rebecca came back to All My Children right when I was leaving.  In our first and last scene, I was tied up in a chair while she, Babe and Kendall threatened me with a poker…or something like that.  Rebecca is so fun. She is great as Hayden, and she is an amazing actress.  Rebecca easily fell right back into the rigors of daytime, and she masters difficult dialog and monologues.

At the present time, “Jake” is not a man of many words! (Laughs)

BILLY:  Correct.  What is interesting about this character, as compared to Billy Abbott, “Jake” doesn’t do a lot of talking.  When I was on Y&R, I used to say to myself, “Shut up Billy!”  Also, I’ve learned that my lower voice and soft speech can be a problem.  GH is mostly mic’d from above, so we are losing my end of the dialogue sometimes on this show. It is a problem I know, and I’m addressing it.   When I got to GH I was like, “Why is everybody yelling at me?  I hear you!” (Laughs)  And then after the first two shows aired, I could see why, as I was very low on the audio.

What are your thoughts on the recent writing regime change at General Hospital, which saw Ron Carlivati being replaced by the co-head writing duo of Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante?  Do you have any idea how that might impact your character?

Courtesy/CBS

BILLY: Walking away from Y&R was a big and scary move, and a lot of people would not have made it.  I was lucky enough to come to General Hospital.  Ron Carlivati and Frank Valentini (executive producer) were very welcoming. They brought me here.  I think Ron is a brilliant guy – and he has been a head writer for a soap now for something like 8 years between One Life to Live and General Hospital, and that is a steam engine. The head writer job is a job that often goes unappreciated.  If a storyline doesn’t land as initially expected, the writers hear from everyone – the actors to the grips, if something comes across as down right magical, they are lucky to get a head nod of appreciation.  I couldn’t handle that job. I love when shows in other mediums freak out during their fourth TV season, and their 44th episode. You have to laugh. You’ve got to give it up for all of the soap opera writers.  It’s such a hard job.  There are going to be ebbs and flows on every soap.  You are going to love it, and you’re going to hate it.  That is why viewers and fans have been watching for decades.  That is why your grandmother watched, and why it has been handed down many times generationally in families.  I hate when people lose their jobs.  Though, I am not worried for Ron, because he is a very bright and talented guy.  He will be fine.  I can say these ladies, Shelly Altman, and Jean Passanante have written for me over at Y&R.  We had a lot of success in that time.   We have not met and talked about anything, or the future of the character, as of yet.  Off topic – I have to thank Frank, the cast, and the crew for allowing me to do my “shtick” and have some fun between scenes.  We are doing melodrama day in and day out, and for me you have to break the ice, and then you get into the scene in a short amount of time and play the drama of it.

You have also had to come in and hit the ground running and establish this connection with Laura Wright’s Carly. Jason and Carly were, of course, bff’s.  How has it been creating this sense of this unexplained bond, where for all intent and purposes to both of them, they had just recently met?

BILLY:  We come from two different directions, and we could not be more opposite, and it works.  Laura is a workhorse.  She takes and handles a ton of difficult dialog and is ready to go, and always professional.  I want to explore the Jake/Carly relationship in new and fresh ways.  Look, I will always get the Steve Burton (Ex-Jason GH, now Dylan Y&R) comparison.  I am sure someone is getting the Billy Miller comparison somewhere else.  Steve and I have talked about it and my take on this character.  I am not hiding anything from him.  We are friends.  Steve and I shared a manager at one point.  When I was deciding whether or not I wanted to get into soaps, that manager used Steve as an example of somebody you should watch who can do this, and who had a very long and successful career, and is a good actor, and a good guy.  But the bottom line is: no matter what role, or what soap you are on, for the most part, in whatever you are playing, you are going to have a little bit of you in everything you play.  I know Steve gets some heat sometimes at Y&R for being a little “Stone Cold”, or this and that, too.

It’s been so interesting over the last few years watching major stars switch soaps for one reason, or another.  How do you see the genre in its present state?  There are less than a handful of daytime soaps left.

Courtesy/NATAS

BILLY:  There is no competition between soaps.  We all need our ratings up.  We all need to continue to celebrate and do good work.  Even at the Daytime Emmys, we are really not competing … we are hanging out. Sure, it’s fun to walk around with the trophy.  It was great for my mother. She loved the hell out of it, and so did my dad.  At the end of the day, it’s really just about all of us still being allowed to do this.  I get accused that I have one foot in the genre, and one foot out. That’s not true.  I owe my career to this genre.  I do like to do other things and roles, because it keeps me sane. There are a lot of actors who, when they have a hiatus, like to take a vacation.  I’d rather work on something – another show, or guest-star spot.  I am the guy who will shoot all day, then run out to make an audition, and have fun doing that.  You have to keep trying to do different things.  Presently, I am looking for a class to get back into so I can study and get a different perspective, and see what I can bring.

Will we finally see some major Sonny (Maurice Benard) and “Jake” scenes?  Fans have been waiting for that.  You really haven’t had much opportunity to work with GH icons, such as Maurice, or even the recently exited Tony Geary (Luke).

Courtesy/ABC

BILLY:  Maurice and I talk about it all the time in the hallway … we are ready to fire it up.  You know, Tony Geary (Luke) on his way out said to me, “We had one scene together.  This is b*s.”  Tony was very good to me, and so too has been Jane Elliot (Tracy).  I like to think I am easy to get along with.

In closing, what can you say is coming up for “Jake” in the short term?

BILLY:  In the short term, there is a Sonny and Carly wedding coming up … so I think hilarity will ensue there! (Laughs)

So, what do you think should or will transpire so that “Jake” finally recalls he is Jason?  What did you think about the comments made by Billy Miller in the interview on the challenges he faces in the complex role?  What woman will the guy actually end up with when all is said and done in Port Charles? Are you looking forward to seeing more of this Daytime Emmy winner getting the opportunity to showcase his acting chops in the coming months on GH?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

I loved Billy Miller on Y&R and AMC. This “Jake” storyline does not do him justice IMO. It is way too slow-moving and boring. I’ve lost interest in Jake and all I care about (maybe) at this point is Nickolas and Liz getting found out. Watching GH is a struggle for me these days. When Billy Miller is boring, there is a problem and its not Billy Miller.

LOL

“well said… your last sentence”

yeah… it’s funny…. when his name comes to mind… the first thing that pops in my head… his stupendous cathartic… just ALL their and present; WORK @Y&R

dang! I can only hope… with a good majority of fans… that the new headwriting TEAM…. start nailing it… do him justice… share his acting skill, talent, imagination run wild… with layers of : every thing we’ve come to know about : Billy Miller

2 things:

1. his scene w/ (mom, Monica) Leslie Charlson.

beautiful , I teared up… can’t wait for this reveal… I hope the new headwriting team… bring to the actors.. more layers of emotion… heartfelt tugging, angst, and let go… let the actors of GH fly

“…That is mom, and that was a real scene…

We were allowed to play two people sitting on a couch talking. It is the best scene that I have had on GH thus far. ”

isn’t that something…
patiently, waiting… with… like JimH says… just make him a doctor NOW… and get mixed in at the hospital… with Patrick, liz, Monica, Dr. O…

we need scenes with Monica and traci, pronto!

2. Billy Miller stating: “I can’t wait to get to his darker side”

“I think a Jason Quartermaine – Jason Morgan – “Jake” collision would be fun to watch. By that I mean, watching him come apart and watching him be deeply troubled in his mind, would be great. ”

Amen! pronto…. a MUST

Wow! it’s been trying… waiting in line… if you will… to see the quality actors GH has acquired to show their stuff… not mention the one’s that got away

firstly: the one’s that got away

AJ, Britt, Connie, Carlos, Duke…need we say more… other than I miss the “heck” out of them

marquee: featuring:

Nina: Michelle Stafford… step up to the plate, as only your fans know

Franco: Roger Howarth… superlative being… could watch his face emoting by itself.. but that would leave me wanting even more

Ava: Maura West… a return to your former glory, self, and frontburner

i’ll miss some

“Jake” : Billy Miller… wow… thank you for your patience… and that I salute this headwriting team… that they bring us all … material worthy of all our time

all worth the wait… LOL

funny saying that… SALUTE to all the decades plus front row seaters

I MISS MAC AND FELICIA
KEVIN

Absolutely, Patrick. The scene between Monica and Jake was heart-wrenching, sweet and promising…..I commented on it immediately. This camaraderie between actors, who basically had not before interacted, is no easy feat. But, their portrayal of something intangeable and extraordinary, yet so commonplace, was delivered with understated current, passion and so much emotion; I almost believed it was reality.
Billy Miller has that ‘je be sais quoi’ extra ingredient which sets him apart from other actors, in my opinion. Lest I forget, his counterpart only proved that Leslie is still on top of her game.
The only other actress which, I feel, showed any affinity with Billy is Amelia (Y&R); professionally , personally and romantically (acting). Although I love Amelia’s portrayal of Victoria so much more than I did Heather Tom’s, I truly almost always ‘skipped’ over her as a great protagonist. But, Billy? Billy brought that woman to life. They were hot….almost as electrifying as Nik and Hayden.
NuBilly has brought Victoria down a few pegs.
And, yes, Patrick….enough with Denise!!!!!!! Bring Ava back!! The writing could have been so much more compelling. But, she feels the need to chase after the one who is forever in a state of somnambulence; Dufus-Morpheus.

Is there salvation on the horizon for Ava? I strongly feel she did not kill Silas. Then again, I don’t think Silas is dead….unlike su0000, I have been wrong before….many times. So, every time I call it right?……I will do a happy dance.

I missed AJ so much I started watching B&B just for Sean Kanan. Saw Rena Softer was on there too. I got hooked. Soaps can get new viewers/fans with the right talent on screen and behind-the-scenes. I don’t see Sean K or Rena on too much, but I’m hooked.

I enjoy Billy but I hate that he is playing such a did of character. I do not want to see BM as stone cold that takes away all I usually enjoy of a BM chatacter.

I agree! Billy is awesome, but Jake is a dud. They need to make the character more interesting to hold on to viewers.

Love Billy Miller!!!
I can only hope that Jake will realize he is Jason under RC’s writing.
RC’s writing goes to mid Oct.

Luke’s exit story, which was not all in RC’s hands, stopped some stories from moving forward.
Jason’s revele could not happen during Tony’s exit, one or the other would have been overshadowed and the impact lost.
I see Jason’s revele very near now that Luke has exited.

Great interview Michael, you delivered on this one. I really have lost interest in the story but waiting to see what happens.

Great interview Michael, and BM is a class act. He is one of the few on that set not throwing Ron under the bus, and recognizing what he contributed not only to GH but the soap genre in general. It is so lovely to see an actor who is professional, cares about his craft, cares about the team as well not not simply himself. I haven’t been a big fan of the Jason story, I still think he should have been Lucky, but BM can make the character of Jason a powerful presence once they get to the reveal. He is an incredible actor. I am impressed by him.

The fast scenes irritate me

Yes but when its TJ, Jordan, Nathan, Sabrina, Rosalie, Nina, Ava or Freako, fast isnt fast enough!

Now, Timmm. Is that nice? LOL.

Hi, again, Timmm.
You are looking at Nathan from a man’s angle. I understand that, LOL. But, from my angle, he is beautiful! I also understand that his acting leaves a lot to be desired. I justify this by saying that he is a diamond in the rough…no? LOL. Missed you, Timmm.

What a nice guy. He could teach some of his co-stars how to give an interview with class and respect.

You got that right. I thought of this interview: classy. Don’t rip into your writer, current or ex, or co-stars. You may run into them again on your way up or down. I have never read a disrespectful Billy Miller interview though. I saw at one of the Emmy interviews backstage where Billy said he was the one who held the parties for staff, to come together & celebrate how lucky they are to get to do this for a living. A peacemaker.

Though I don’t know a lot about Michael Easton, his exit interview was also quite classy. I’ll add Kelly Monaco. She gets it. Everyone’s working hard. RESPECT.

Well, the thing about Tony Geary is that he is retiring from the soap business.
He has nothing to lose so he spoke the truth. These youngsters are not afforded the same luxury.
That said, I saw absolutely nothing wrong with Tony Geary going out while spilling some truth. I found it refreshing.

I think you are asked leading questions and in true gentlemanly style he was thoughtful, honest and intelligent. Mr. Fairman your presence for Sam showed through the interview. I appreciate hearing what this incredible amazing talented man had to say about his character. Billy Miller and ReBecca Herbst, (BnB as I like to refer to them) are teaching an AP course on Chemistry and I’m so glad to be a student.

Michael Fairman always gives the best interviews. He draws out the information!! You bet. If you compare his interviews to the competitors, they don’t quite open up to most like they do Michael. A class act IMO.

I’m sure Mr. Fairman appreciates your full throated defense of his interviews skills he is very blessed to have you in his corner. I’m assuming you know him personally, I don’t so all I have to gage him on are his question. The evidence is clear that Mr. Fairman prefers Sam to Liz that’s not shots fired that’s just the truth. He started the interview bashing Liz for lying (Port Charles is full of liars and hypocrites) and Mr. Miller was so gracious in his response. His second question was about any attraction to Sam, bascially wanting Jake to cheat with Sam. Mr. Miller talked about a lot of other things and only referenced Sam as an afterthought at the end of his response. Mr. Fairman asked (in my best lawyer speak yet another) a leading question about Jake’s feelings towards a woman who is involved with another man. Which forced Mr. Miller to address it directly by saying, “eventually,” which is what fans of Sam and Jason are clutching those pearls for this one word. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my response to the article.

I actually don’t think I meant to tag my post onto yours. I posted several comments on here. But I did so that’s that. I have never met Mr. Fairman. I enjoy his interviews because he seems to pull more out of his interviewees and asks interesting questions. I think ALL journalists that are also fans are prejudice, at least several in this industry. Michael Logan for 1.

Liz, however, deserves to be blasted in this instance. Her actions are deplorable and her actions leave a dark cloud over the romance of Jake & Liz. It’s the current sl so of course people are going to ask about it. And her actions overshadow the romance because of the unfortunate way the sl is being wirtten. RC seems to have forgotten the romance. If RC would put a tad of effort into their scenes, the audience would torn, like I was when Liz was at his side at GH & their sweet friendship began. Those were some of my fav scenes. Now, all RC writes is mostly her lying, upset for lying, plotting & running to Nik’s.

Yes, everyone in the fictional PC are hypocrites at times-even Jake and even Sam. I like RC, but I’m disappointed he hasn’t layered this storyline more. He needs to make the audience just as confused & torn as Jason will be when it all comes out. If he’s gonna write a triangle then write it fair-don’t stack the deck. I’m actually glad 2 female head writers are taking over. Surely they can write romance!

I feel frustration should be directed at RC, not Mr. Fairman. He’s just commenting on what’s being written.

Wow, Loraine! I am a huge Lizzy fan from way back but feel very disappointed with her taking part in this great lie and cover up. I hate any woman acting so desperate to hold on to man that the end up sacrificing their true essence, their integrity and their values, and our Miss Lizzy did this in spades. I do feel Lizzy is acting out of character and do not like it one bit.
I think that is where Mr Fairman was coming from.

I so agree with you, Laurie. I have said all I have to say about Liz…she is naughty but good? LOL.
If truth be known, Lorraine’s post lost me. I missed the point, I guess.
I did not miss, however, Billy’s chivalry . He is a gentleman to the core. Furthermore, I appreciate his finesse in measuring his words before speaking. …love you Billy; since your AMC days.

I love Billy Miller. I actually like Jake a lot more than Jason. I hope he keeps a lot of that character and Jason Q and just a tiny bit of Jason Morgan but anyway I have really enjoyed watching him and Becky Herbst work together. They have amazing chemistry. I wish the story was better or moved faster but they are magical. I do think its time to give Billy some meaty material to sink his teeth into. Its hard to do that with an amnesiac who is basically a blank slate and mainly gets to react to things rather than be pro-active. I also am looking forward to seeing him and Becky play some antagonistic scenes. I have a feeling they will be very good too.

Seems like a great level headed guy. GH is lucky to have him.

Nice interview! I was new to Billy when he came to GH and I am now a fan! Love what he brings to the role and his chemistry with Becky Herbst is incredible!! Can’t wait to see them play the push & pull when the truth comes out and to see the Jason role grow!

This was a great interview, Michael! Billy is witty and seems very genuine. I can’t wait to see what he does when the truth is revealed. I wish him a long, LONG successful run at #GH

PS: It’s nice that you didn’t ask him about his alleged relationship with KeMo. Good for you! Good for them! They deserve to be happy and have some privacy.

Robin was the one who saved Jake/Jason and would have appreciated Billy Miller’s thoughts since he was so complimentary and happy to be working with KMC and RH in an interview. Also why KMC isn’t involved in this story the way it was to be and why it was given to newbe Hayden. Don’t buy KMC is directing since FV allowed Finola Hughes to do both GH and her directing

Finolas took a leave from GH for two months to direct a film

and Finola will be back soon–she has been taping. Anna has been missed.

Kimberly actually lists her projects on her twitter page and she has indeed been directing but not at GH. I believe she recently has worked on Pretty Litlte Liars. She also directed a play recently I believe & worked w/many GH stars in it. It’s ludicrous we haven’t had any word on Robin in 1 yr. Well, she had a few scenes w/Billy at the 1st of this year but as his conscious. Not to move the sl along. Even Helena didn’t hint where she had Robin these days. It’s insane!

I wish they would have taped this interview, It would have been hilarious to watch

I would watch Billy Miller stand and model for an hour every day if I could. That man has more talent in his body than half the casts of all soaps put together. He is charming, funny, great looking and solid in whatever role he takes on. I am loving seeing him in this role. He is so different than Steve Burton, which in my opinion, is refreshing. I can’t wait to see what the writers give to Billy Miller to chew on. He is stunning. Thanks for an interview with Billy Miller that shows his humor and humility all at once. That is what makes him so attractive all around.

I agree with you 100 percent Mateo.

I don’t want any part of Mobster/Enforcer Jason. Make him a hybrid of Jake and Jason Q.
I enjoy him with Becky but I resent tptb throwing the characters of Liz and Nik under the bus. When this all goes bust hopefully Niz will get a true shot at love and romance.

I really am a huge fan of Billy’s work. I loved him on #YR and he was my dream actor for the role of Jason so I’ve been a happy #GH camper lately. He seems to have his finger on the pulse of this genre and it’s refreshing to hear from a participant who is engaged, respectful, and grateful for the opportunities he’s been afforded.

As for the character of Jason, I think he’s been playing him just right. As a Rebecca Herbst fan, I have been delighted with their relationship and am hopeful it will continue after the reveal. Elizabeth was Jason’s dream and Jake has been able to live it. That being said, I’m ready for this story arc to play out and for Jason to be able to be Jason, in whatever incarnation that may be.

Thank you for the great interview, Michael. It’s fun to hear from a reporter who is also a fan! I always feel that you’re asking the questions that I would ask if given the opportunity. You’re the best!

Shelly, I thoroughly appreciate your reply and fully agree with your description of Elizabeth being Jason’s dream and Jake getting to live that. I really hope the writers let Jason and Elizabeth make it work longterm.

I hope the writers play it correctly. Sam and Jason need to rebuild there love, and given some true time at happiness. Without Liz always waiting to destroy the relationship. Jake nor Jason cared for lying, so Liz should not be an exception.

Really, Micheal? I love the chemistry between Becky and Billy and all u care about is Liz getting thrown under the bus to get to boring, chemistry less JaLame? GH will end up with 1.6 again. The majority of GH fans hate JaLame. I don’t think when Jake learns the truth he needs to be with any women but I don’t want Liz destroyed to prop up boring JaLame. Sam’s character is so much better with Patrick. They need a real story. Should Liz be with Jason. Not sure. Billy and Becky have great Chenistry but I want all the women to be strong. I am torn. I think Jason and Liz should be given a real chance but all the women in Jadon’s life become weak and I don’t want to see that. I love Hayden and Nic. Maybe, do Carly and Jason lol I do feel bad for Liason fans. They are always getting screwed. Maybe, Jason just needs to be alone and find himself.

When you have to refer to a couple as “JaLame” and say things like “The majority of GH fans hate”
Then we know neither is true. GH has had 17 weeks at record low ratings and guess what couple has not been on…

I do agree with what you mostly say, Tracy. I do think that Jake should be free of any entanglements; whether it be with Liz, or any other woman. The writers should know better than to have him entertain these romantic notions…marriage, no less. Jake has no clue who he is. And Liz is abusing his vulnerability by keeping his identity under wraps.
Not to mention Sam is as bland as dishwater…and, as colorless. I thought I had seen sparks, at one point, between Sam and Jake, but the vision was so fleeting and elusive, I think it was all an illusion.
By the same token, Lizzie, the one character who captured my interest, attention and admiration from the onset, broke my heart. Soooooo very disappointed in her!!
Now, I understand that the redemption of characters lurks around every corner in soaps, ready to pluck any miscreant character, putting him/her on a pedestal wearing a brand new, shiny golden halo. And, believe me, I will always choose Liz over Sam for Jake. Sam does not stir the senses.
However, I must say that I, in good faith, soap or not, find it difficult reconciling with the fact that Liz is part of a conspiracy which has the potential of becoming a horrible crime. Nikolas tried killing Hayden once; what’s to stop him from doing it again?….Fact is; Lizzie, deep in her heart of hearts is aware of this ….her misgivings and gnawing inkling are so strong, she confronted Nik about her suspicions. Liz will accept any explanation Nikolas will feed her because she desperately needs to pacify and appease any guilt pangs she may experience. I suppose she is so far gone with her duplicity, she has already sold her soul to the devil….come hell or high water.
When will she fess up, even to herself? After it becomes a fait accompli? Nik is playing God ( well, Satan) with Jake’s life, and Liz sits at his (Satan’s) right hand….not to mention that the survival of a human life is in the balance. These two feed off each other…this disturbing alliance emboldens both of them. Nik’s eagle eye is on Hayden, sizing her and her memory. On the other hand, what does Lizzie Borden do? She sharpens her axe and unclenches her claws, waiting for the next round to hold on to Jake. Bad, bad girl…..as my husband would say; she needs a spanking…LOL.
I must add that Rebecca as Liz keeps hitting home-runs. She is fantastic and oh, so beautiful. I hope she gets, at least, a nomination for impeccable acting!!

Ciao, CeeCeeGirl! Glad to know you have returned to our shores—and this website—welcome back! It simply hasn’t been the same here without your sparkling commentary! (Timmm, jimh and Harry have certainly done their part to keep the conversation flowing in your absence….as a matter of fact, they proved far more entertaining than GH! Still, it’s wonderful to have you gracing the MFSoaps threads once again! As for me, I took a vacay from the show, so only sporadically posted!) Sooo…do tell, did you track down AG in Amsterdam????? I’m sure you shall have plenty of tales from your travels to share once you get settled in at home….in the meantime, I shall be anxiously awaiting the resumption of our oft-vexing (for others) “conversations.” Until then, take care and buona giornata! Later!

@Shay.
Hi, ShayGirl!!!! Thank you so very much for the warm welcome. I thought of you on a daily basis…honest!…, LOL. And, I missed our chats . I missed reading everyone’s commentaries….especially Timmm’s terse, short and sarcastic sentences. Harry’s sardonic quips are still alive and kicking, I see. I am also so happy Jimh is well.
I am ecstatic being back. There’s no place like home…truly. As much as I really had the best vacation ever, I need a vacation from my vacation. WOW. We must have covered six countries and countless Mediterranean islands, where a school of sharks was circling around us. My son actually wanted to jump in and swim with the monsters. Very disconcerting, that. He has no fear, which is very worrisome….such an intrepid kid. Sadly, I did not encounter Tony Geary, albeit we were in Amsterdam for only two days.
From there we went to Rome, sojourning at the Excelsior for a few days…then off to Abruzzi to see my father-in law’s family. We actually skirted Sicily and sailed up the west coast of the peninsula to Genova, where my mother-in-law has family, the Grimaldis. I am sure you are familiar with that Genovese name. There are many in Boston and Toronto, also.
Finally, we reached Monaco. I am not a gambler; so we just shopped til we dropped. We went to Marseilles to see the breathtaking Notre Dame de la Garde. Unlike Notre Dame de Paris, this cathedral has the characteristics of Byzantine architecture to which I have always been drawn.
I must be boring you…enough of that, right? If I keep going in this direction, my post will catapult into that infamous abyss, never to agin be seen. Lol.
I see that much has been happening in Port Charles, then again, not so much….I did a double take when I realized that Lansing is acting as temporary DA? Huh? How? Why? There was no other choice? Should he not be in jail for fraudulent behavior? He paid a woman to impersonate Jake’s wife! And, the worst for me? Sonny is getting married to Carly again? What a slap in the face for Michael, and AJ’s memory. Now, Shay, it seems that your damsel is really in the ‘thick’ with Michael. Sorry, I couldn’t resist teasing you. Forgive me?!
I cannot get over Carly’s giddiness either. The blushing bride drools over the perfect dress for her thousandth wedding? Oy vey!!!!
Coming back to find Ava still wearing that rag on her head, the ridiculous accent, and her yet, hard-to-scratch-itch she has for Mo.
I love it, though. I am back on sacred solid. I love my country and I love my soaps. However, my head is reeling from the Mickey Mouse goings-on in the courtroom. I need my Bailey’s. Kidding!!!!!
Forgive any typos, please. Buonanotte, cara.

Good to see both Cee Cee and Shay on our shores.
You’ve both been missed.

@Harry.
Thank you, Harry. Trust me, I have missed you too….more than you know!

@Harry….Thank you, “Kind Sir!!!!” (The feeling is mutual….a day without your musings is like a day without sunshine!) Even when I fail to post, I do read my favorites, and needless to say, you are always at the top of that list! Quite frankly, Timmm, jimh and you absolutely made my day during this past month’s GH entertainment drought, not to mention my self-imposed exile away from it and CeeCeeGirl’s vacation!!!! So glad we are all back together again on these threads!!!!

Yes! She’s baaaaaack!!!!! Hey there, CeeCeeGirl!!!! So good to hear from you!!! ‘Twas a much less amusing place here without your presence over these past few weeks. However, I’m delighted to read of your most eclectic travel itinerary…it sounded both exhilarating and exhausting!!!! I must admit my thoughts also often wandered toward you, as I kept up with the developments in Europe….particularly Italy….so many troubling aspects these days, and such a shame for that beautiful, historic country. Thank God you and yours had a safe and enjoyable journey to and fro! Soooo….where to begin???? I’ve pretty much been off the GH “grid” since your departure…..I just couldn’t take it any longer! The news about the sublime Michael Easton continued to frost me and the fact that most of the characters I consider to be the most annoying have been featured on the front burner during these last few weeks made my viewing nearly nil….accordingly, I’ve kept a pretty low profile here in your absence, as well. (I mean was it really necessary to watch the always condescending Alexis hanging out—and I do mean “hanging out!”—-in that courtroom farce with her trio of babydaddies???? How much more Jerry Springer can she get???? Rhetorical question….) Let’s see, when you left, Ms. Davis was her characteristically overly-frisky self, shagging Julian and buying his lies between their frequent rolls in the hay. Hmm…nothing’s changed there! Then we had the nauseating Sonny and Carly anticipating connubial bliss for the fifth time….not much difference there between then and now either, except we had yet another installment of “Sonny Got His Gun” Part What, 100???? Yeah, that was fun….especially since we may have caught a glimpse of Brad’s biomama, “Miss Big Woo” in the bargain! And of course, we had plenty of Nina’s usual off-putting behavior (and Franco’s tiresome antics, save for the Liesl stuff…) which I was just as content to miss….I’ve remained rooting for MadMagda to prevail over her loonytune of a daughter. (We are simply destined to stay on polar opposite sides on that subject!) Plus, the ever-expanding Sappy Saccharina continued to worm her way into gullible Mikey’s good graces….can we please just make it stop now….pretty please???? He needs to dump her stat so she can start binge-eating to account for her growing girth…a much more original idea than yet another unwed pregnancy….which leads me to the barely-contained “Dante Stalker,” Val-Chops. Is her morning sickness set to begin? About the only concrete movements have been swapping one creepy, sleazy prosecutor for another with the Ric/Scotty exchange, and (finally) revealing Ava’s identity to one-and-all, even though they took their good sweet time getting there, eh???? (I certainly hope the wardrobe department performed a ceremonial burning of Ms. DeMuccio’s freaky frocks and WIG!….although Alexis probably called dibs on Denise’s trampwear!) In short, you really didn’t miss all that much!!!! With a bit of luck, perhaps the arrival of autumn will bring better days in Port Charles….fingers crossed! At any rate, it’s most excellent to have you back at the old banter board….once you recover from your vacation and get your exuberant bundle of energy immersed in the swing of his schoolyear, then we should be off and running with plenty of time for further cheeky commentary and headache-inducing wit for the moderators! Can’t wait! Oh well, I best be signing off for now….once again, it’s been a real joy to behold your return here at MFSoaps, CeeCee! Later! (Con piacere!) P.S. Off-topic, but did you read that “Poldark” has just been renewed for five series? That should keep the Aidan Turner fans happy for years to come!

@Shay.
Well, dear Shay; I do feel compelled to answer your most entertaining post. How could I not?
By the same token, how can I not comment on everything Alexis? Frisky? Oh, Shay!….she is beyond frisky… Kittens are frisky. Alexis has graduated to cougar. LOL. I must say that I just noticed a very peculiar thing Alexis does with her mouth. She puckers her lips in a very unattractive moue…..and, then, she does an adaptation of a lisp. Did she always have that mawkish affectation? Now, it would look sweet and cutesy on an otherwise very young woman/teen, but on Alexis? Cute it ” ain’t “!
Furthermore her conversations with Sam are getting more boring and miserable than ever. I care not about Julian and his story with the mob or lack thereof.
Sappy Sacharina? Hats off to you, Shay…..good one!! Hilarious. Yet, I still love Sabrina; I just do. For some reason I feel some empathy for her. And, she’s harmless. On the other hand Valerie just makes me want to smack her upside the head. The same goes for Morgan. I have so much fun with some of these characters. Can you blame me if many are written as pathetic fools?
Obviously it is no fault of the actors’.

It feels so good to be back into the swing of things. I feel honored that a handful of posters have used my ‘MadMaddie’ moniker….it makes me feel that I have arrived…..that I belong to the GH family of fans. And, speaking of Madeline, I still feel that she is the crazy one in the family, not Nina. I choke each time she declares her love for her daughter!!! WOW! That, and Nina and Kik finding each other are the storylines I await with bated breath. There is so much more than meets the eye, here. Whatever issues Nina had growing up have carried through to adulthood, albeit the fact she spent half her life in a coma. It was probably the lesser of the two evils, anyway—-her mother!
So, we still do not know who killed Silas. Who will be the scapegoat? The vampire?
And, poor, poor Jake. When will he be delivered from this state of limbo?

To be honest, Shay, I have not had any time to catch-up with the POLDARK series. But, I am glad Aidan will return to MASTERPIECE.

Yes, Shay…the unrest in Italy, and frankly, everyone within reach of the Mediterranean shores is in potential jeopardy…..so vulnerable…. As I said, there are numerous countries within the horse-shoe shape from the Adriatic through the Mediterranean and then up the Tyrrhanean…..so open to irascible ‘raptors’…..always have been throughout History. Nonetheless, we had safe sailing, literally….thank God. I think that sensationalism sometimes makes one bite his/her fingernails until they bleed unnecessarily.
I bid you good night, now, ShayGirl! Later.

I hear ya, CeeCeeGirl!!!! It does feel good to get “back in the saddle,” so to speak. Now then, where to begin, where to begin? You have made so many salient points! Okay, I’ll start with our favorite whipping post, the ever-randy Alexis….I’m so gratified to discover that I’m not the only one who has noticed the grating affectations that she employs in her sanctimonious mode of speech……it’s been a sore spot of mine for quite some time, along with that omnipresent cleavage that she’s always ready and willing to serve up on a most public platter. (A friend of mine also frequently comments on the annoying way her hair constantly falls into her eyes, hence, we’ve begun referring to Ms. Davis as the “Lhasa Apso!”) Combined with what you so correctly term her overheated “cougar” tendencies, these other factors create one exasperating mess of a character! Quite frankly, I’m so tired of this lust-laden lawyer that I wish she’d been the one to meet the maker instead of dearly departed Silas….although it would not necessarily have been in the form of a murder! I have a perfectly fitting death scenario already envisioned for this wildly wanton woman….following an especially raucous round of rumpy-pumpy with Julian—then again, is there any other kind for those two?—she should have a coronary right there in the afterglow…and be discovered having assumed room temperature with a satisfied smile on her face and in a “+*+$ up” position—of course!!!!! LOL. Would that be a memorable exit or what? As for Sappy, no surprise, but I continue to find her unabated presence more and more unbearable….she’s just so insignificant and superfluous, and I must ask, why is she regularly painted as the go-to medical expert on the show? Be it prescriptions or psychological conditions, this so-called know-it-all is presented as the authority on health-related matters. At best she is an LPN….meaning she’s only had but one year of training—(tops)!—- so WHY does that make her qualified to spout off about all of these subjects??? You would think that should Mikey have any concerns he’d seek the advice of actual trained professionals like his close relatives/physicians Monica or Lucas, but then where would that leave the Sapster? Without any purpose whatsoever….I rest my case!!!! Moving along to Val-Chops, I consider her particularly unpalatable with Director-Boy Dillon. They are so completely mismatched, even in the faux-mance sense….how anyone could buy them as a true couple is beyond me….I just want her to vamoose….slink away now please….with Dante’s “baby on board” or not, it makes no difference! Just go. Candidly, I’m feeling that way about the majority of players at the moment…..Nina, Kiki, Franco……even Ava……it’s time for them all to hit the road. This grand, failed experiment with these wholly uninspired characters has gone on long enough….I simply don’t care for any of them, and never shall no matter the machinations utilized. Interestingly, I could see an ongoing place for MadMagda. Donna Mills is the consummate soap witch….let her finally get her greedy hands on that money she so covets and be ensconced as the Queen Bee of Port Charles! Just her ties to Liesl and Nathan alone would be enough to keep her in the thick of things, plus, I could see her mixing business and pleasure with Julian or Paul Hornsby….anybody but IckyRicky! (Having said that, I do fear that Maddie is going to be the convenient, and rather predictable, culprit in the Clay murder whodunit, yet I’m hoping such will not be the case. Any of the other suspects would be preferable in my view, but it will come as no shock that I would LOVE to see Nina be the real perpetrator. Naturally, it ain’t gonna happen—Sigh….—but were I to have my druthers, she’d be the one shipped off to “Sing-Sing” for stabbing Silas in the back!) At any rate, I am running out of patience waiting for the new writing regime to make their mark on the GH canvas…..there are some spoilers leaking out about upcoming developments, and some sound promising, others not so much. I’m craving major improvements and corrections, not doubling down upon past mistakes. I guess we shall soon see what’s what, but at least our guy Billy Miller should be at the forefront with the Jason reveal, so that is something to which I shall be looking forward. He is such a sweetheart…an opinion upon which we most heartily agree, CeeCee!!!! Lastly, on the subject of Poldark, my local PBS station has been re-running the season finale this past week because the last month has primarily featured fundraising programs. I think I’ve seen that last episode four times now…basta, basta…..even Aiden Turner can’t keep me riveted after that many repeats! The show does end on an intriguing—albeit sad and unsettling—- note….definitely must see tv…..check it out when the opportunity allows!!!! Oh well…I still have more to discuss with you about your travel tidbits and canny foreign observations, but they shall have to wait until our next “installment.” However, needless to say, I am delighted that you enjoyed a wonderful respite across the Atlantic and have returned safe and sound. Later, la mia amica!!!!

I’m hoping the show goes the opposite direction and not the so obvious and let Liz tell jake who he is, I’m sure if it’s well written it can be just as compelling then how it will more likely play out with poor Liz being exposed then pounce around by a bunch of hypocrites like Carly and company. Hope this new Jason will be more open and forgiving then the previous more self righteous Jason who had double standards for the truth. I. E remember how poor robin was crucified for telling the truth bout michaels paternity??? Poor robin was treated like crap by sonny, and Jason broke up with her and of course Carly did her Carly thing. It looks like RC was trying to destroy Liz and Nicolas and that really sucks. Thanks RC..

Billy was given great material by JP & SA on Y&R and he hit a bases loaded home run. Just needs to be given that opportunity on GH. And I absolutely agree that Jake’s best scene to date was with Monica.

He’s been commenting about wanting good, meaty material since he started. I hope the ladies write some layers to this sl!! Depth. Folks that don’t know his past work think his only speed is dull Jake! That’s tragic!

1st and foremost, this interview calms my fears that GH dragging this sl for so long will scare off Billy Miller have been eased. He seems to be on board or maybe he is skilled at spinning bs. He certainly doesn’t sound like an actor about to jump ship like so many alleged “insiders” keep tweeting.

I love that he thinks his scenes w/Monica were his best so far. They were quite good. The show itself is moving at a snail’s pace but for Silas’s murder & murder trial. The man just got offed a few wks ago & the trial’s on? OK then! While we’ve been waiting a year for the Jason reveal. Go figure.

Along w/Michael Easton, Billy seems to have some sense & class. Love that he did not feel the need to rip apart Ron Carlivati. Billy’s 1st year on GH is what it is. It wasn’t the worst or the best written. I’ve enjoyed a long list of his scenes though:

The first hospital scenes w/Liz at his bedside & the budding friendship were gold
The highly uncomfortable Thanksgiving scenes w/Sam, Patrick & Danny as guests
Sam confronting Jake on the steps of PCPD
Jake creeping into Sam’s to off her & Patrick & meeting his conscious, Robin, & then of course, stealling that toy chicken..er.. I mean, Pheonix
Jake & Sam’s budding friendship, especially the motorcycle scenes, the live show scenes when Hayden was shot when Sam yells “don’t tell me who I’d miss”, the double date w/Sam & Pat at MetroCourt & def hooking up w/Sam to investigate Nik.
His big old tantrum at Kelly’s over Nik overtaking ELQ & him telling Nik to take his offer of work & shove it.
His Michael scenes-(plz move into the Q mansion Jake!!!)
His scenes w/his mom, Monica!!!
Almost all of his scenes w/Carly

Steve Burton has a higher voice & when he gets mad his voice actually rises. Billy Miller has a deep voice & when he gets mad his voice goes lower. He also mumbles a lot. That, to me, is the biggest difference between the 2 Jasons. The emote differently.

The sl needs to be further along-why are we going weeks w/0 movement? I wonder if the 1 trick after another RC played on us, making us think the reveal or the sl was moving more than it was isn’t a huge part of the falling female demos? Fans are mad over Liz not only lying and keeping him away from his family, but spreading her legs for him & taking what is Sam’s. Sam would be burned at the stake if she did that to Liz at this point of the show, when both women were almost becoming friends. Many people are lying to Jake, but only Liz is banging him as well, though Hayden tried!!

As always, Michael Fairman’s interviews are some of the best!!!

Him proposing to Liz w/o an ID, real name, ss # & barely a job is ridiculous! How can they get a marriage license? If they do marry, that will be 2 fake “wives” before he even gets his memory back of his real wife.

Those little vingnettes he calls them is also a problem for me…it cuts the scenes too short…drop filler moments and some characters for longer scenes…too quick scenes leaves little time to invest in the moment—-im bored with the whole Jason/Jake now…rarely watch…Days is becoming the better soap now!!!

He’s really diplomatic and tactful about those viganettes. That is not what GH used to be and they are not good for the show, they are destroying the show. Billy is a really nice guy and I like Jake. I don’t like Liz or Nickolas misleading him. That Monica and Jake scene was the best I’ve seen on the show for this year. It beat all of Luke’s scenes, even with Bobbie and the past. Tose are the scenes that are usually lacking from the modern GH, personal scenes which build character and relationships which make you care about a bigger story. Leslie Charleston needs to be around more and used effectively. She may have not won an Emmy, which I don’t think is much of a standard anymore, but she is a great actress and one to be reckoned with, not brought out for show and tell every once in awhile. Treat older actors with respect and viewers of all ages will come and watch the show. There should be a variety of ages in Port Charles.

I so agree!!! But right now the show is loosing my regular viewership…so tired of the Nina/Franco show!!!

I understand that. They are getting better. I mostly enjoy Scotty/Franco scenes- “Sit down you Dummy.” I even like Nina on Friday. Surprise! Actually the whole show was good. I’m shocked to hear myself say that.

Isnt it ironic with all the flash and high paid actors on GH, 70 year old Leslie Charleston rolls onto the set and has one of the best scenes on GH in 2015 with the great Billy Miller?

Jim what I hate most is seeing flashbacks after ONLY one day after watching the original scene!

I’m glad that Billy shut down Michael’s statement about him developing great on screen chemistry with Kelly Monaco. There has been 0 chemistry between their characters. If anything, I find them to be awkward and forced moreso on her part. It may have something to do with them possibly dating IRL (To me most real life couples can’t translate the off screen chemistry to the screen). Billy has definitely not played Jake this way with Sam but Kelly has having Sam always touching Jake when she’s supposedly in love and cohabitating with Patrick. She did the same thing with Patrick when the powers to be were pairing them as a couple. This is one of many reasons I am not a fan of Samtrick. Patrick needs someone who is feisty, an intellectual equal and someone whom he can have witty banters with.

Even though Billy is candid as he could be in this interview, I would understand if he’s frustrated with how the Jake/Jason’s storyline is playing out. It’s gone on too long & the Jake character has/is not even driving story. Overall, the storyline has been poorly conceived/executed like the rest of GH this year. Hopeful for better things to come very soon.

I didn’t really see it as him “shutting Michael down.” He explained that he is purposely playing the storyline a certain way. I happen to think Billy and Kelly has wonderful chemistry. If they are fishy she in real life, good for them. If not, then whatever. My main point is, I like that he is addressing the JaSam fanbase who have been very upset by this storyline. Sadly RC (although it probably was not intentional) has turned off the JaSam, Liason, SmaTrick, Niz, Liz, Jason, Sam, Nik, Patrick fanbases. Many people have something to say about all of those couples and characters, not many of those things are good.

JaSam fans tend to be a bit whacky and fanatical.

Agree!!!!

I want to clarify I agreed with Ellen. I’ve not seen any chemistry between them, particularly from Jake. Which as Billy says is the way he’s playing it. So any chemistry “seen” seems to be in the eyes of the beholders. Also as Ellen said, KeMo played her scenes all fidgety.

Maybe not shutting Michael down but redirecting him since Billy and Kelly are dating?

He is so classy!

i have loved billy miller on amc & y&r – i think he is extraordinary in his craft………………
excellent interview michael!

Nice interview; and I agree totally that his best scene to date was with Leslie Charleson (“Monica”). Hope to see more of them together soon, while I’m still mildly interested in GH. Sadly, interest has been waning for months.

At this point I don’t care how he finds out he’s Jason. I just want the truth out there so my girl can move the hell on and get out from under this Jason/Sam bus from hell. So sick and tired of their Moral Compass bull they spew when they are together like their not 10 times worse than Liz could ever be. This storyline is the reason I have quit watching. At this point I foresee a cancelation in GH ‘ S future if we are just going back to what they were doing before Ron and Frank took over.

I love Billy Miller, I’m glad he talked about the Jake(Jason/Sam relationship. They have such great chemistry!

BILLY MILLER IS THE REASON I NOW WATCH GH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! REALLY ENJOYED THIS INTERVIEW, AND I SO HOPE THE STORY WILL MOVE ON MUCH FASTER…HOPE SOME NEW STORYLINES WILL COME UP TO UTILIZE SOME OF THE BEST ACTORS WITH JAKE…..LIKE THE JAKE AND CARLY…..REFRESHING!!!!

A fabulous article. I so admire how professional he is as well. I’m not a fan of the actors who air their dirty laundry with the writers in public. Bill seems very gracious. I was fascinated to learn the differences in the soaps like the way the microphones are set up and the different timing of the scenes from soap to soap, Personally I’m happy to sit back and enjoy the show and see where the writers take the story. No input required. 😉

Considering what BM said in the interview about being manipulated ever since the accident, then I don’t see how he can possibly choose Liz. This storyline has been a epic fail. What was billed as “Jason’s” return has turned into Liz’s fantasy of having “her” time with Jason. At this point just make Jake a new character, not Jason, and be done with it. The present regime has turned GH into a crapfest and it gets worse everyday. And bringing back Jake, the child, has to be one of the worst plot points ever executed. To date there has been zero explanation for how this happened. Hack writing.

What a classy, professional person. A lot of his castmates could learn a lot from him.

To do what he’s done amid a fanbase that dissects every move, hoping to see, or claiming to see the nonexistent chemistry between Jake and Sam. And the other that keeps saying, “he’s no Jason” for which I say thank goodness.

When he gets his memory back, I suspect he’ll be appalled at the kind of person he became. That scene with Monica was everything–because it showed so much of what can be–but wasn’t for years because the actor (SB) and TPTB chose to portray a one-note character who mostly emoted by blinking his eyes more often.

Billy Miller’s talent would be wasted playing Jason Morgan. And while I know he HAS to return to Sam, I am really NOT looking forward to that story.

Whatever happens they better not keep Elizabeth as a villain. Even more people will stop watching.

Its all played out long enough its time for Jason an Sam to be together an to be a family again. An as for Elizabeth an Nicolas they deserve whats coming to them, an Jason an Micheal should be able to get ELQ back where it belongs.

Why do they deserve anything ? Was Sam punished for what she did, or Sonny for killing AJ or the guy the other day, has anyone on This show been punished? I don’t think they have . Why should Liz and Nik be any different. They need to fix this mess somehow to get back oth Liz and Nik out from under what was written.

Pretty sure Sam lost Jason over what she did and I think he threatened to kill her. What she did was ages ago. What Liz is doing is right now. Sonny went to prison 6 months. That’s=to 60yrs on soaps!! Nobody is really punished of course on soaps. She didn’t say they should be punished. She said “whatever’s coming to them.” Probably public shunning. The sl is ridiculous. The bus is plowing 2 of the few good guys (Liz & Nik) we have in a town that’s overrun by RC’s thugs!!! The man even made Sabrina a villain for 2 wks! It’s old and tired! I like RC, but I think the ditch he has ran this potentially good sl in the ditch & has pissed off viewers & they fled. I am ready for the 2 gals to take over who have written some good stuff for Y&R and GH. Surely they can add some layers & depth to this sl and the whole show!!

Sam didn’t lose JAson over what she did she did it for revenge on him. She also got him back after that and no one other then JAson got to chew her out. Liz and Lucky we’re both written to forget it and don’t think anyone else knew but maybe Spinelli and he didn’t care

Love what he said about Ron and the new writers. Totally classy and professional. He should give a lesson to some of his peers.

Billy Miller could teach some of his GH cast mates a thing or two about professionalism and class. Great interview! I followed Steve Burton to Y&R and fell in love with Billy Miller’s portrayal of Billy Abbott! I was sad to see him leave that show but thrilled that he then joined GH! Although he is still not playing Jason, I have enjoyed him as Jake. The storyline is moving at a snail’s pace and the fans are also ready for Billy to get some meatier material! In the meantime, I already love what he brings to the role of Jason and have fallen in love with Jake and Elizabeth. I hope that they continue to let these two interact and maybe even work things out after the reveal. Love them! I truly hope that the show does go with a JasonQ/JasonMorgan/Jake hybrid. I have zero desire to watch “Stone Cold” again. Perhaps we will get a new and improved Jason Morgan finally!

All I can say is I LOVE BILLY MILLER! Here is an actor that has so much going for him…..talent, charm and sex appeal. One of the best in daytime TV……

Great interview. Billy Miller seems like a very classy guy. I’m enjoying the chemistry he has with Becky Herbst. I hope once the reveal happens they can work through everything & Elizabeth & Jakeson stay together. It will be interesting to see how he incorporates JQ, JM & Jake. I like Jake & I hope he retains his humor & charm.

Love Billy Miller as Jason!!!!! Sorry do not miss Burton in this role at all!!!!

Not really a fan of his and I’m definitely not a fan of Jake. He’s a bore and barely reacts to anything. I think his fans are just enamored with the fact that he’s there. I can’t see him being Jason which is sad because JM was the most unique character on daytime. It’s not about mimicking Sbu. It’s a character that you play and he acted the way he did for a reason. Jason was angry and then was very light with Robin (sweet and romantic), he only turned Stone Cold because of people hurting him. It’s how he coped. And it got worse and worse for many reasons. Jake doesn’t react. That is my problem. He’s a blob. He’s just like every average Joe and I’m sorry I don’t see the bad boy side. And what they have done to Elizabeth in order to sell Jasam is a travesty. Seriously, she was never obsessed with Jason and even encouraged him to work it out with the woman who he hated that her child even existed and did horrible things. Things that should never have been forgiven in the first place. I’m sorry, when you directly hurt a child like that. Liz never gets to be happy. Even Sabrina who tried to kill Avery gets to be happy. I truly think the writers hate her and her fans because she has been trashed for the last 7 years. Even stupid Sam got to be redeemed after all the crap she pulled. The show is unwatchable for me right now. I check the boards, but since I was only holding on for Liz and I can’t watch this and refuse to watch Jasam (just let Elizabeth find someone else. She never really chose Jason accept for like 5 minutes when Michael was shot). Hate she’s throwing everything for someone like Jason in the first place. He is not a prize.

I absolutely love Billy Miller as Jason too! He is such a class act and amazing actor! I was not of fan of stone cold! Can’t wait to see what lies ahead? I am so happy that he isn’t leaving GH!

I agree it has to a hard thing to do to come and try to be in a role that someone else played for 20 years! We all loved Steve so much it wouldn’t have mattered even if his twin was hired we woulda found something wrong with him! LoL My problem right now is every main story is dragging on & on & on! GH lost a LOT of people over the Fluke/Luke story line because it took SOOOO long to end, plus by the time it did end, it felt like the ending was just thrown at us! I didn’t like the ending at ALL!! I didn’t like the way they let Luke leave either! I know the Luke & Laura thing has been over a long time, BUT they were together so long it woulda been better to see Laura help Luke get better, then help him leave! As for Jake/Jason it’s also WAY too long! Let there be a mob war, Sonny be in trouble, & Jason remember who he is and come to Sonny’s rescue! A LOT of us fans miss the mob stuff! Jason use to have an office on the piers & Sonny’s people would go there & get their orders, & if something big was coming up, Jason would call Sonny & he’d come down there! Right now GH has what 500 characters? It’s ridiculous they just keep getting more & more people which keeps meaning less & less time with the main characters that we LOVE & the reason why we watch GH! I don’t understand why they don’t see that!! If they don’t fix some things FAST on GH, it’s gonna go under too & I don’t want that to happen! They were already asking for a boycott to not watch until Jasam was together! I’m not one of those! Like I said, my MAIN issue, TOO MANY PEOPLE ON GH SO THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARE GIVEN LESS TIME!! That’s crap!!

I really felt remorse when Jason was shot and fell into the water and then watching Sam dive and dive to search for him and only found the dinosaur, which became a link for her to Jason. I continued to watch GH because I have watched since it first started in 1963 and have seen many characters come and go. Some I have missed like Lucky, some I can’t even remember unless someone mentions them but Jason (SB) was one of my favorites. I thought in the scene on the wharf that I would just stop watching but I like Sam, Sonny, Carly, Monica, Tracy, Maxie and Spinilli and so many more I realized it is a habit for me. The characters of Sam and Jason brought out the good parts of each other and their love is what people search for. When Billy Miller came on board to play Jason I didn’t think it would work but I have gotten used to him and he is such a good actor I think it will work. I have read people think there is no chemistry between KM and BM but they are just blinded because they try to see chemistry between whiney Liz and Jake. I think there is attraction on Liz’s part and gratitude on Jake’s part. I see Sam and Jake have an attraction they don’t understand but neither want to play patty fingers with someone else’s significant other. Not Liz, she wants Jake/Jason no matter what or who it hurts. She is never happy with the ones who want her she is always after someone else’s man. Lucky is her one true love and she just keeps trying to find him in someone else. There is only one Lucky and only one Jason and he belongs with Sam. I think BM is playing Jake/awaking Jason in an appropriate manner and doing a good job of it. I will always like SB as Jason but BM will be able to put his touches on his version of Jason and all will work out. We will just have to wait and see. I’ve been hoping that Spinelli comes to Carly and Sonny’s wedding and helps Jason see himself and he was. Monica’s son, Spinelli’s friend, Carly’s BFF, Sam’s husband, Danny’s father and Sonny’s right hand man.

@dawnhaze I love your every word because you echo my sentiments exactly. Very eloquently said!

Billy Miller is an excellent actor and I can’t wait to see him spread his wings and make Jason soar. I too can’t wait to see Jason where he belongs, with Sam his wife and love of his life and Danny their son, and mixing it up with Sonny and bff Carly, Spinelli the Jackal (please bring him back for good), Maxie (please put her back in the orbit she belongs), Monica and Michael (his 1st son). These characters need to be in each other’s orbits, their dynamic has been missing from this show for way too long.

I have to bring up Steve Burton and his amazing portrayal of Jason Quartermaine Morgan to honor it for a moment. Steve played Jason for the better part of 2+ decades and has been amazing in his commitment to the character. I will miss him dearly as Jason.

I know some people don’t want Stone Cold back but Jason was only Stone Cold when it came to business. Jason has always regardless of brain injury had a heart of gold and was selfless in his loyalty and commitment to those he loved.

As Maxie once said “you may be Stone Cold, but it’s a lie. You’re soft and mushy on the inside. Jason, you have a soul!” lol. Steve played it that way and did a fantastic job in showing fantastic range of emotions, the most touching of all being Jason’s love for his wife Sam. I can’t tell you how many times I found myself tearing up with emotion watching Jason and Sam together. Maybe it’s because love is at the core of what everyone is searching for and wants to see on their screen when they watch their favorite soap. These 2 actors, Steve and Kelly, portrayed that kind of love in the relationship of Jason and Sam in a way that is missing on today’s screens in a huge way.

I miss seeing Steve as my Jason so I felt the need to honor him by not forgetting why this amazing character of Jason lived on my screen for as long as he has and why so many fans tuned into the show due to his portrayal of the character.

That said, I love Billy Miller, fell in love with his portrayal of Billy Abbott on Y&R and have seen him in various other movies. I’m very excited to see his take on Jason because he is just as talented as Steve and I have confidence he will do Jason and his fans justice.

I cannot wait to see Billy and Kelly together as Jasam, and hope the writers remember what makes this couple so special; what makes them the supercouple they are in this ever struggling genre.

Please keep the stories true to character and you won’t go wrong.

Thank you Billy for saying that though we’re not there yet, that Jasam is coming. We’ve been waiting a long time (some have even lost hope and stopped watching because it’s taken so long and the story’s been so disjointed). As you can read, I miss this couple dearly and I know I speak for tons of fans who feel the same.

Thank you for taking the time to explain that while the attraction is there between Jake and Sam, that you and Kelly are playing it with subtlety for now as Jake is not a cheater, and Sam is with Patrick at the moment.

Thank you for also confirming what a lot of us have seen, that Jake’s with Liz more out of gratitude because she’s been there for him, though it’s a facade because she’s been lying to and manipulating him the entire time. Ha! Carly’s instincts are always right. She called Jake out on his attraction to Sam and the reason he proposed to Liz being out of gratitude. I’m loving the connection that is already there between Jake and Carly, can’t wait til she knows he’s Jason and furthermore that Liz knew the whole time. Tear her up Carly, she deserves it lol.

My hope is that Jason figures out who he is without being told, that he go to Sam first and that they together have their chance to be mad and then go on to rebuild their lives together (sorry Patrick).

I want to see Jasam having those intimate talks again they would have all the time, telling each other everything, figuring out where they go from here, falling in love with each other all over again even more than before if that’s possible, being a family and getting to enjoy parenthood together for once, while taking on the challenges of what all of that entails, including all the interruptions that’ll come their way when Sonny, Carly, Michael, Maxie, Molly etc etc come a knocking on their door haha. <3

Great interview Michael Fairman, thank you for always making it interesting and asking all the right questions.

Thank you Billy Miller, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to indulge us fans and put smiles on our faces. I'm looking forward to seeing you on my screen as Jason Morgan for a long long time.

JASAM? Really? Can we please stop with idiotic and cutesy nicknames for soap couples?
It just fulfills the absolute worst stereotypes some people harbor about soap fans–that they’re fanatical and not too bright.
Most soap fans as evidenced here in this forum are intelligent and well read.
(Although I must admit, the Liaison nickname was rather clever.)

This was perfect! Kathy I agree with everything you said. There truly was something special about Jason and Sam. A lot of that had to do with Steve and Kelly’s wonderful chemistry and the way they played the story. No matter what was going on with them; good or bad I was always rooting for them to be together. I want to see Billy and Kelly together as JaSam because I have already seen that they can make it work. Jason and Sam were a truly special couple during a time on soaps when love stories were going down hill. 40 years and 10 different soaps, no couple has ever touched me the way Jason and Sam did.

Harry,

“Ship” names aren’t used just by soap fans. For example: Castle and Beckett’s ship name on CASTLE is “caskett”- well, 1 of them. Some of us use them because we are too lazy to type 2 names in.

I think it bs taking for ever the guy jake to be Jason get over with already.

They need speed it up.

This is a great interview…Billy is such a great guy in so many ways….Such a great actor, a very handsome man, & so intelligent & kind. I love his character of Jake….I watched him for many years as Billy Abbott on Y&R but love him as Jake even more.He brings strength to this role but with a sweetness & an underlying sense of humor….I love Jake & Liz together…they have a great chemistry….I could see a long standing love story unfold….I don’t want him with Sam….there is no chemistry there & I have never liked the character of Sam….to me she’s just boring…that’s just my opinion.I hope the writers continue with this Jake/ Liz love story even after he finds out the truth.I think this could be a long running love story like the ones we used to see…like Holden & Lily, Tom & Margo, Reva & Josh, etc.I wish Billy all the best…..he’s wonderful….& that Southern charm shines through.

I love Jake & Elizabeth, because Jake has only EVER loved her. Jason had so many loves, I lost count. Keisha, Robin, Liz, Carly, Courtney, Sam, did I forget someone? But Jake – he is SO in love with Liz and ONLY her (“I couldn’t be more in love”) and I love that! I will certainly be annoyed if he falls back in love with Sam. His story with Liz has just been too romantic! Swoonworthy, even! It will be interesting to see what happens when he finds out he’s Jason. I hope he ends up being a combo of Jason Morgan, Jason Q and Jake. He will dutifully try to work things out with wife Sam. But still longing for Elizabeth. That is what I hope to see.

I think Jake and Lizzy have a lovely and natural chemistry.
I am not feeling it for Jake and Sam as they have zero chemistry.

Billy Miller is fantastic — Steve B is not as missed, as Jason, much in thanks to Billy – that being said – what bothers me MOST about Liz lying to Jake, lying to JASON, is that she doesn’t realize that she doesn’t LOVE JAKE, she loves the man that was Jason, the whole memory of liason, the father of her son, she has not allowed herself to actually KNOW this man who is JAKE – who is not yet JASON – she is always in her head with guilt and memories of what was — so, she is not being fair to JAKE as he is now, the Man he is now – the man who truly loves LIZ as she is – as much as I always rooted for Liason, I do not root for Liake – she doesn’t deserve him. — now, Sam is with Patrick, and loves Patrick, she therefore, once the reveal is done, should Stay with Patrick. – Jake should take time alone to get to know himself, all the parts of who he is, and then let his fury fly at those who done him wrong — by lying to him all that time. – 🙂

IDA with you about Liz and JAson. I always thought they loved each other. The problem is the writers . Just once I would like to see them write a balanced soap. Where one side isn’t the bad guy where there is actual remorse, sadness doubt conflict ion. I like Lake but they need this lie to come out and given a story to try to move forward. I never liked Jasam . I don’t hate Samtrick like I did Jasam. I think like Lake they just need better writing.

The thing that everybody forgets, is that Liz & Jake were already falling in love with each other before Liz ever found out he is Jason. She loves Jake for Jake. Finding out he is Jason was just the icing on the already baked cake.

kind of /sort of, yes — But, Liz has this way of being googly eyed at available men – especially when they google back at her – they were enjoying each others company, yes, and about to go upstairs to BE together, yes, until old husband Rick comes back from the dead and wants to give her a try again — if she was Really falling in love with jake, then no amount of schmoosing from rick (in my opinion, if I were liz) would pull me away from jake to go back to mr loser with the history of hurting her. — but, we are all individuals here, all with our own opinions, always will be. — 🙂

Exactly! The key is though all of Jason’s women were dependent on him. Sam sat on the couch waiting and whining–and when she did do a PI job, Jason was riding to the rescue. There was never any indication Sam was the love of his life. He threatened to kill her. He wouldn’t accept her pregnancy when he wasn’t 100% sure he was the father.

And if Billy Miller goes into Stone Cold mode or they bring back the nattering Spinelli, I’m done.

While yes Liz was falling in love with Jake before she found out the truth she did say; “Once I found out I no longer saw Jake, only Jason.” She no longer sees Jake…which is fine because he is such a bore anyways. Liz and Jake/Jason are not this great love story. The writers have set them up to fail, which is also fine by me because I see no chemistry what so ever between Billy and Becky. They are worse that watching paint dry, IMO.

Um .. Dolores? If I remember correctly, Rick came back when Liz & Jake were about to KISS on Christmas Eve. They were about to make love when HAYDEN appeared at the door and said she was Jake’s wife.

What a class act! I loved him on Y&R and I love him on GH. He seems to have such a connection with how the fans feel. I LOVE that he admitted that his favorite scene so far was with MOMica. He also gave a lot of credit to the writers. He is a humble human and I wish him continued success!

What I would like to see is Jake become Jason. He finds out Sonny “Killed” AJ and goes to Sonny for answers. Sonny reveals that AJ is not dead but being held by him. Sonny hands over AJ to Jason and the two of them head to the Quartermaine mansion and knock on the door. Monica answers and Jakeson says to Monica, “Hi mom, were home.”

hey Timmm,
All that ^^^ god stuff is now in hands of the Snooze Queens ..
They will probably give Jason cancer ahhaa!

If I even hear the word “Music Box” come out of ANY characters mouth on GH, I’m out!

haha, yes, and with that big Billy Miller grin!!!

I love Billy Miller. He is the only reason I am still watching General Hospital.I wasn’t watching Y & R when he was on…he’s awesome. I really hope the new writers speed this S/L up and give him more airtime.Oh! Did I mention he,s a hottie?

Okay. If I hear “GH needs to give Jake&Liz a REAL chance!” again I am going to pull my hair right out of my head-(my brunette hair that is quickly turning gray waiting on this storyline to move forward at a reasonable pace!!!)

Not sure what their definition of “real chance” is. Jake has been w/Liz almost the entire length of his 1 yr run on the show in 1 capacity or the other. Liz had multiple chances w/SB’s Jason. I think she is the one who rejected them. During BM’s run, she had her 1st chance when he poured his heart out to her under the mistletoe in December. She chose Ric. Then, she fantasized about him when she was with Ric. Then, she had her 2nd chance when she dumped Ric & Jake poured his heart out to her again, when he flat out rejected a future or concern about Hayden. He literally chased Liz out of Hayden’s hotel room telling her he chose her. She rejected him again and that time also chose for HIM. Not cool. She was about to reject him yet a 3rd time at Nurse’s Ball, til she realized he was Jason. Then she blew her 3rd chance by starting off their 3rd attempt w/the LIE! But now you folks want yet a 4th chance for her after her LIE/LIES come out. Geez, give someone else a chance.

Her & “Jake” have been together for months which is like yrs in soap time. I think the writers have been very generous w/Liz, while Sam gets a few scraps here & there.

yah well, that ^^^ is soap stuff, how they roll..

Exactly. He will probably bounce back & forth between her & Sam for the length of their time on the show. Shouldn’t get too attached to soap couples. They will change at the whim of the person behind the pen.

Well I would say Jasam has had more then their chance too

They have but not w/BM’s Jason yet. They are gonna move this actor around & test his chemistry w/many probably.

Billy Miller has grown on me as Jason and I love that he is looking forward to having ties with the Q’s as they have been missed (by me). It was hard in the beginning as I stopped watching GH when baby Jake was killed off and only tunned in from time to time if there was a buzz about Liason. I will state that for me Jason and Elizabeth has always and will always be my favorite daytime couple. I hate how their story was trashed and how she was rewritten for plot agendas. I am glad that JQ and JM is going to mesh as now both Elizabeth and Jason have evolved into deeper charcacters. I am hoping that the writers give Jason and Elizabeth a true chance once the revel happens. For me Elizabeth and Nicholas should always remain friends. As I see it he brings out the dark qualities in her and it always ends bad. She purged herself of Nicholas and I do not know why she was ever paired with him again in a romantic fashion.

Elizabeth is going to have to rebuild herself again, hopefully Jason sticks by her this time. I hope that the wirters see that her and Jason are in love right now and was before she found out that he was Jason. Those previous months cant be forgotten.

I read that GV renewed his contract at DOOL, mores the pity as I would love to see him on GH as I believe that Sam grew with him in a short space of time. That was my favorite paring for her. Even if he was re-written as someone else they had smoking hot chemistry. I did like the Lucky and Sam pairing if I am honest. They were growing on some fans until their s/l ended to reunite Jason with Sam.

Hoping that Jason and Elizbeth fans get to see their story playout without the lie.

I just want a dam decent story on this show. It has been for ever since we got good stories you could follow and have a conclusion and not have to wait 2 hrs for.

Years not hours

I have liked and enjoyed many a good story during the past 4 years..
guess some people way over think the stories or simply can’t follow along 🙂
overthinking/dissecting a fantasy/ stories that are fictional can cause problems and distort what is actually happening..

I am very interested to see what will happen when Jake does remember who he really is (maybe a car accident will jar his memory or, maybe, Helena Cassadine will show her ‘good’ side and finally make Jake/Jason come alive again with Robin’s help. .Billy Miller is such a great actor. .he was fabulous at Y&R..he will do greater acting at GH..looking forward to when this will all play out..hopefully really soon! !

I am more-so waiting to see Monica ecstatic with joy!
Imagine Monica finding out her son is alive.. !!wow!
An Jake/Jason has made an awesome deep natural connection with Monica..
The Jason & Monica reuniting will be the most powerful of all the reunitings !

My respect for Billy Miller, actor, just went up many notches! This is one thoughtful actor with, most importantly, his ego firmly in check. He is realistic, hardworking, and very introspective. I loved so very much hearing him say that the Jake and Monica scene was “his best” to date on GH. He really gets it and knows what the viewers appreciate. Three cheers and kudos, Billy! Onward!

I agree with all of that about BM, but I also love that he respects those he works with. He and KeMo are two of the most professional members of that cast, shown in their response to Ron’s firing. Gracious people, respectful. I cannot say that for TG, MB, or BC among others. Always loved BM as an actor, now I respect him even more.

THIS WEEK on GENERAL HOSPITAL: Dex and Josslyn’s Relationship at a Crossroad, Jason Contacts Diane For Help

Previews for the week of March 18-22nd on General Hospital, plus the latest promo for the daytime drama series, share that Jason’s (Steve Burton) return has already affected so many lives, especially given the fact that several key people aka Michael (Chad Duell), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Danny (Asher Antonyzn) know his location at this moment.

Eventually, Jason (Steve Burton) will get in touch with Diane (Carolyn Hennesy), from what one can only assume is legal help. However, John (Adam J. Harrington) seems hot on Jason’s trail, but the question remains, if Jason was working for John as seemingly revealed in a flashback to keep out of prison, are the two working together … or are they mortal enemies?

Meanwhile, it looks like its curtain for now in the relationship between Dex (Evan Hofer) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy). After Nina (Cynthia Watros) dropped a bombshell about Cyrus (Jeff Kober), Joss gets an earful of information from Dex, when he admits that he was in Cyrus’s hospital room to kill him on orders from Sonny (Maurice Benard).

Photo: ABC

According to Soap Opera Digest, Eden McCoy shared, ” I think what’s different about this situation, and what pushes her over the edge, is that it wasn’t, like, a self-defense situation. It wasn’t at a shoot-out. He wasn’t protecting Sonny. Cyrus wasn’t doing anything! And I think that really scares her, to see him in the light of voluntarily killing someone in their sleep. That is very different from, like, shooting someone that’s shooting at Sonny. She is just in shock, like she can’t actually believe it.” As told by McCoy, “At that point, Josslyn says.’I can’t do this anymore,’ and makes her exit.”

Take a look below at the rest of the official teasers for the week.

REPORT: General Hospital Alum, Robyn Bernard, Homeless & Battling Addiction, Before Her Passing at 64

Robyn Bernard passed away earlier this week on March 12th, when her body was found in an empty field, which is allegedly behind a 7/11, and some trailer homes, in San Jacinto, California. The actress and singer, and former General Hospital alum, played Terry Brock from 1984-1990 and was 64-years-old at the time of her death.

New reporting on the life that she led over the past year, and longtime mental health issues and struggles with addiction, paint a picture that may have led to her death. Although it should be noted, the toxicology report is currently not completed or released. However, the sheriff department stated that no foul play is suspected.

Now, according to the Daily Mail, friends of Bernard spoke on how she had become part of their homeless community, and that she she struggled with alcohol addiction, and had been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia through the latter part of her life.

Photo: ABC

In their accounts, things went south for Robyn when in 2014 she moved to the community in San Jacinto, which is 84 miles from Los Angeles. At that time, she moved into a trailer park for senior citizens and was beloved for her singing by her neighbors.

The report also notes that in 2015, tragically, Bernard’s trailer park home was burned to the ground taking 7 of her 8 beloved cats and all of her possessions. After that, Robin stayed with many people of the community, but the previous management chased her off of the premises. She then broke up with her boyfriend and eventually stopped communicating with her parents.

Bernard’s final home was in a community called Parkview Estates, facilitated by Riverside County’s Adult Protective Services Department.  According to police records obtained by Daily Mail, through 2017-2019, Bernard faced numerous DUI drugs and alcohol arrests during that period.

Joni Woods, who lives opposite the space where Bernard’s trailer once was said: ‘I used to see her (Robyn) around town all the time pushing her shopping carts. She always had four or five of them, and I always felt so bad for her.” Robyn’s former boyfriend, Dan Berlin, expressed that the last time he had seen the GH alum was two years ago, “She was out there, talking to herself in a nonsense way. She was a schizophrenic.’

The friends of Bernard shared: “She used to say that Hollywood screwed her over,” adding, “They did her dirty and that’s why she ended up living in San Jacinto of all places.”

Share your thoughts on this tragic story of the last part of Robyn’s life, which again, stresses the importance of trying to find the appropriate help for those dealing with mental illness, being homeless, and addiction.

While ‘General Hospital’s’ Dante Lays in a Coma; Dominic Zamprogna Has Some Great New Portrait Headshots

On General Hospital, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) has thus far survived two bullets to the chest, and is laying in a coma. Sam (Kelly Monaco), his lady love, is by his side and beside herself after learning her ex Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is alive and is of the belief that Jason have been the shooter who tried to take out Dante.

Sonny (Maurice Benard) has been wracked with guilt after he wasn’t so kind to his son, before the PCPD cop got shot. Meanwhile, Jason is hiding out at the Quartermaine boat house trying to recover from the gun shot wound he received.

While Dante’s life is still hanging in the balance, it appears that his portrayer, Dominic Zamprogna, took a diverse range of headshot and portrait photos under the eyes of talented photographer Jackson Davis. The photos were posted on Davis’ Instagram account.

Photo: ABC

A few former GH castmates commented on the photos including Marc Anthony Samuel (ex-Felix) who expressed: “Dante, Dante, Dante…,” and Mark Lawson (ex-Dustin) posted, “Dom!!!! Handle yo’ biz.”

Zamprogna joined General Hospital back in 2009 and has been nominated four times for a Daytime Emmy Award throughout his time thus far on the ABC daytime drama series.

So, what do you think will happen to Dante? Will he wake up and be just fine, or will he have another medical condition? What do you think of Dominic’s new headshots? Comment below.
