GH’s Chad Duell On His Break-Up with Y&R’s Courtney Hope: “We’re Still on Good Terms”
Sunday’s all-new episode of General Hospital star Maurice Benard’s (Sonny) State of Mind series, brought with it a sit-down conversation with his on-screen son, Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos),
Toward the end of the interview, Benard brought up Duell’s recent split with Courtney Hope (Sally, Y&R). The couple had wed in October in a gothic-style wedding, and then shockingly split up a short time after.
However, when Duell addressed what happened to cause the end of his relationship with Courtney, Chad said: “Out of respect to her, I’m not going to delve too much into all this stuff. All I’ll say is she’s an amazing person, she’s an amazing woman, she’s an amazing dog mom.”
He then shared: “It’s a complicated situation, and it’s not what anybody thinks. I’m not going to get into detail, but it’s not what people think. There wasn’t anything terrible that happened, or someone did anything to anybody else.”

Duell added that the state of their relationship away from each other is A-OK, expressing “We’re still on good terms. She’s an amazing person in so many ways. All I have to say is positive things.” Chad said their split was “mutual”.

At the conclusion of the part of his discussion with Benard on splitting up with Courtney, Chad revealed: “We didn’t actually sign anything. We weren’t really, like, you know, married or anything, really. It was amicable, kind of just that. And that’s all I can really say. We always want the best for each other.”

Then let us know, what you thought of Chad’s comment on his break-up with Courtney via the comment section.
So disrespectful (not to mention stupid). Marriage is a sacrament, and clowns like this think it’s “no big deal” to make a mockery of it. Fancy decorations, themes, costumes – if you’re not going to give it the respect it deserves then don’t do it.
I know and isnt he supposed to be a Christian he used to make a big deal about that. He seems so immature. He used the word amazing so many times which I cannot stand.
I never heard CD say he is a Christian. That is odd.
Or, bozos on the sidelines with no dog in their fight are way too upset over other people’s personal business!
Well you took the time to reply so you must be upset too. Amen!
We all have a vested interested in treating others with respect and honoring sacraments. At least we do if we’re decent human beings. (Also it’s not “personal business” when they hold a Halloween party with costumes and decorations and call it a wedding, and post pictures of it all over the internet).
He doesn’t have to justify himself to a bunch of judgmental strangers online.
Oh stfu nothing disrespectful about it.
still strange after being together a long time and extravagant wedding. Too bad they couldn’t have figured it out beforehand. I guess the theme of “Til Death” wasn’t accurate. 🙁
Maybe they changed their mind at the last minute and since it was planned and paid for, they decide to go ahead with it but not legalize it.
I don’t think so. In the wedding photos, Courtney looked like she was happy.
What’s with the monkey? You post a picture like that and don’t explain? Or maybe I’m just ignorant and everybody already knows about the monkey!?!? LOL
Anyway, I’d like to know more about the rest of this story. Does he mean that the wedding was just for show? What was the point if they didn’t actually legalize it? And after dating for as long as they did, why hadn’t they figured out already that they weren’t compatible?
Maybe it was a celebration of “the death” of their relationship, but they wanted to send it off with a bang. If so, then that is obnoxious and extremely self-indulgent. Who knows.
It’s a stuffed animal and I don’t know the significance. Maybe it’s his emotional support animal.
Gosh, I thought Sonny and Carly had another kid .
Such an odd news item and strange comments. But life sometimes takes such turns. Wishing all the best to move on with grace and happiness.
So the wedding was just a party not really a marriage ceremony??? Confused!!!!!1
Something doesn’t seem right……theirs more to the story? Chad seems to have a history of failed relationships♀️I don’t know Courtney’s story? Not legally married♀️This isn’t a scene in General Hospital……
Still love you Chad……
“Didn’t sign anything” so no legal marriage… odd. Kids today i guess lol.
So, the wedding was as legitimate as has current spin of the story?
While it’s really nobody’s business but theirs, at least treat the soap fans as being intelligent.
Maybe the only thing lamer than his facile explanation/dodge is his smug expression in the photo. Can’t stand the Michael character and it’s bled over into any previous likability Mr. Duell (Dull?) may have had. Part of the growing Sonny/Carly legacy of poison, I guess.
There is a bit of arrogance discussing this issue so close to the event and not answering anything. Maybe he should have waited and maybe Mo should stop his effusive praise at this time. It seems disingenuous.
Geeze do we have enough padded rooms???
I have no respect for the women who cover for this guy hey come out of the closet I would have more respect for you! Did he ever say one time he lived her and don’t get me started on what a clown she is
Loved excuse me
He declared his love for her daily on Twitter. And Instagram. He did interviews saying she was his forever.
My neighbor used many of the same words to describe his live-in ex-fiancee…then introduced me to his boyfriend the following month!
This story just gets weirder and weirder.
Yessss, really strange and weird!!
First of all who cares and second of all, though the fans want to know, this is not just a continuation of a soap. It’s their lives and really no one’s darn business and I’d bet that’s what Chad says in real life.
It seems something odd happened ..he kept saying it’s not what you think and no one did anything to hurt anyone…hmmm. Thought it was well done interview.
Chad/Michael, you need to drop your quest with that lady and find someone who is best for you and your life.
What a dunce—both on camera and off. No big deal? For once, I have no words!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Finola Hughes Delivers the ‘Power Performance of the Week’

There was never any doubt that in watching the riveting and emotional scenes on General Hospital which featured Finola Hughes as a PTSD-driven and mentally tortured Anna Devane, that when the climatic moments in Anna’s story aired, that we would not be singing the praises of Hughes. Once again, Finola showcased why she is one of the soap opera genres greatest assets and actresses.
In the key scenes, Anna has had a complete breakdown as she has lured and cornered Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) on Mount Emerson, and even thought through how she would kill her and cover it up, all thanks to hearing the voice and seeing a dead man, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). It’s visions of Peter that keeps egging Anna on to pull the trigger on Britt while in her delusional state.
Before Britt realizes that Anna trapped her in meeting her in Mount Emerson, she is very confused as to why she was all the way out in the boondocks to talk about what happened to her brother, Cassius Faison. However, Britt soon learned that what Anna was about to do is personal, and not professional, as she pulls the gun on her.

ANNA FIRES HER GUN IN GAME-CHANGING MOMENT
When Jason (Steve Burton) shows up to save the say, he tries to talk Anna off the ledge, begging her to not shoot Britt and make one of the greatest mistakes of his life. When Jason figured out Anna felt she needed to kill anyone related to Cesar Faison, he made her think twice, because that would mean, she also would need to end the lives of two of Maxie’s children, James and Bailey Lu.
Anna can’t stop seeing hallucinations of Peter pushing her to shoot Britt. Suddenly and completely overcome, Anna fires bullets straight in the direction of where she sees Peter as she declares this all must end tonight.
After the shots are fired, Anna realized what she had done and just sobbed and shook. It was a devastating and heartbreaking moment for longtime General Hospital fans to see the beloved Anna Devane, super spy, so lost. Anna explained to Jason, after he was able to disarm her, how she was being pushed to kill Britt by her visions of Peter.
EMMY-WORTHY SCENES FOR 2027
In another hankie-inducing moment, Anna just grabs Jason and breaks down in his arms. If these weren’t Emmy-worthy scenes, we don’t know what is, and it must be remembered by Hughes, General Hospital, and hopefully the voting body of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) when Emmy submissions and voting get underway in 2027 for the 54th annual Daytime Emmys.
From everything we noted above, to the sheer brilliance of her work, Michael Fairman TV names Finola Hughes, this week’s Power Performance of the Week.
Now let us know, do you agree with our pick of Finola? Were you moved to tears during the gut-wrenching scenes? Should Finola include these scenes in an Emmy submission in 2027, should she decide to compete for Lead Actress gold? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
