GH's Constance Towers on Valentin and Helena to Liz – the line she could not say!

Courtesy/ABC

Constance Towers, the evil Helena Cassadine from General Hospital guest-starred in last night’s Soap Opera Mystery Theatre at the WGA with All My Children’s Jacob Young.  Thus reuniting Helena with one of her former Lucky Spencer’s! On-Air On-Soaps caught up with one of our favorite people, and asked Constance if Helena’s latest escapades has legs, and when does she think the baddest Cassadine of them all, Valentin, will make his way to the Port Charles canvas.  As many know Valentin’s debut (Actor, Matt Borlenghi) was delayed to make room for James Franco’s guest-star turn, and seems to still be  on the back-burner.

Towers, “She is back with a vengeance.  There is a little more of an arc to do it this time.  We hope the Valentin character will come in soon.  We have been serenading his entrance for quite awhile, but he hasn’t made it yet.  That character will be probably the only person that Helena is truly afraid of. ”

We then asked Constance, how on earth does she get through the scenes where she is spouting such venom at the fragile Elizabeth, Becky Herbst? Towers responded, “It’s hard. She is one of the sweetest people on this earth, and there was only one line I refused to say because she is truly pregnant in real life, and that was turn to her and say, “I hope the Gods are smiling and you will die in child birth.” And I turned and I said “Even Helena is not that poisonous.  I can’t say that,” and so I didn’t. “ And she and I laugh a lot in rehearsal. I throw things in, and sometimes I keep them in.  The other day Helena says to Elizabeth, “You have three little urchins by three different men, and you are not married to a single one of them. You are really ripe for Welfare”.  They right me in interesting ways, and the writing is terrific at GH.  They give Helena a sense of humor and they also make her vulnerable. I think a villain who is vulnerable is very interesting to watch and play.”

We can’t wait for more Helena debauchery! Stay tuned!

I can not believe TIIC would pen that, with the actress being pregnant in real life. They are truly disgusting, I’m sorry – I think that is awful and KUDOS to CT for having class enough NOT to say it.

Jane Elliot Returns to General Hospital This April

Although it was previously announced back in January (during ABC’s TCA Winter Press Tour) that Jane Elliot would be returning to General Hospital, the soap opera and Soap Opera Digest have confirmed that Jane’s first episode back will air next month on April 17th.

While Elliot won’t be a part of the Nurses’ Ball which airs the week of April 3rd, as part of the show’s 60th anniversary episodes, the Daytime Emmy-winning fan favorite will be back in action during the anniversary month and beyond.

As viewers know, Jane originally decided to retire back in 2017, and so Tracy was written off to join Luke Spencer in Europe.  Since that time, Elliot has come back to the show for a few appearances.

The last time we saw Tracy was at the beginning of 2022, when she came home to Port Charles to give the shocking and tragic news that Luke had been killed in a cable car crash.  Tracy eventually went back to Amsterdam, where they had been living, to settle his affairs following his death.

Will Tracy’s return help bring down Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) who is believed to be behind Luke’s death? Could Tracy learn Luke is really alive after all? Stay tuned.

So, excited that Jane Elliot’s return to GH is just around the corner? Comment below.
