General Hospital fans circle Monday, August 27th as a not-to-be missed episode of the ABC soap!  According to a very intriguing and exciting tweet this afternoon from series executive producer, Frank Valentini something big is happening on Monday’s air show!

Valentini tweeted, “The air show on Monday is not to be missed! We’ve been keeping a huge surprise under wraps.”

So what could the surprise be soapers?  What we do know is  Anna has been searching for Robin, could she stumble upon the mystery patient? And Jerry Jacks is about to reveal his deadly plot for Port Charles!

Whatever the surprise is , or who it is, we can’t wait to see how Valentini and Carlivati deliver it to GH fans everywhere! Weigh-in!

I think it is Victor! I’m excited no matter what I is. Today’s episode was fantastic. I am loving that Olivia is a seer. I hope eventually she can accept it and use her powers for good…..like helping Dante solve crimes….find missing children…..etc.

I don’t think it is Victor. It looked like a woman. TSJ is filming a movie in Germany now according to his web site.

I hope it has something to do with TSJ!

Can hardly wait!!!

PLEASE tell me Victor is coming back!!!
i miss him soo much <3

i can’t think they’d bring Victor into all this… not now. This is going to be Jerry Jax, Jasper Jax, Ewen (probably a Jax too), and a frantic chase of who / what is happening to Port Charles peoples… and their water! And the Robin/Anna/Luke stuff…

I think all the guys with their shirts off today was like – who was in the shower and getting any of the poisoned water on them?

but someday, it would be nice to get Victor back.

I think we will get Victor back. Just not now. I have a feeling its an old GH character. Em?? Bobbie??

It’s Rebecca Budig.

Please don’t let it be Rebecca B.

Thats what people don’t realize. Its actually Rebecca who’s on Monday

Please oh please oh please, I have nothing against the actress, but I cannot STAND Greenlee!!!

Oh gosh, I agree, please don’t let it be her!

I agree, but I saw a promo still and the person looked alot like Rebecca Budig. I hope it’s Georgie.

How do u know it’s Rebecca Budig? Greedlee was my least favorite character on my once fav soap AMC…looks like I am not the only one from the other posts..GH has been sooo good under Frank & Ron’s direction please don’t mess up with her…

That’s cause is not the big surprise is the orgianal Maxie is back as of September 5 or 6. So that is the huge surprise. Victor might be next year during May sweeps. But i blief is Maxie.

It didn’t look like robin. But it was definitely a girl.

wow can not wait sounds like exciting episode just wondering who is in that room

I think we will know the identity of the person who is pulling Jerry’s strings.

The only big news that would make me happy would be that OLTL is coming back. Otherwise…don’t care. I am glad for the GH fans….but us OLTL & AMC still suffer (:!!

mmm… yes, I suffer every time I get to see Todd Manning on GH!

😀

you don’t what your missing girl! I’ll always miss OLTL (apparently) but I love that I can get a TM fix on GH now. Todd & Starr & John McBain are all GH stars now! And sometimes Blair or Tea comes for a visit. I’ll take what I can get!

I agree with Christy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still miss OLTL a lot also!!!!!

I tried watching GH a few times…very hard when you don’t know any of the storylines. I would only be able to watch GH on soapnet…and we all know that is ending soon.I’m happy that all the former OLTL viewers are getting something from GH now.

As a GH fan before the merger, the only big news that would make me happy is also that OLTL is coming back! I miss GH. I lost my favorite show and AMC too. The problem is, that even though I watched OLTL in the past, I would never watch it again if it came back on the air. There’s been too much animosity created for me by the merger attempt, and yes, even by some fans demanding more and more OLTL on General Hospital.

I miss my oltl too,,,,Melissa Archer please….

I can’t wait. I wonder if it’s Robin.

I think it’s all of them, the past characters . Are being captive when I think about, it if Jerry has something to do with it. HE HAS TO BE WORKING, FOR SOMEONE ELSE FROM THE PAST. IF YOU REALLY THINK, WHO WOULD YOU THINK? FASION . He’s the number 1, all time villain of the whole town. Of who knows everyone’s weakness, their kids. And he’s the most obvious choice. LUKE: LUCKY. For instance. JERRY AND FASION: they both could have , ROBIN, ALAN, HOPE, LISA, JUSTICE, EMILY ZANDER, and DUKE. I WOULD LOVE LOVE LOVE, TO WATCH THEM ALL AGAIN EXPECT LISA.

I hope they are thinking along these lines, this is what would get us lapsed viewers to come back, great villains, great characters, great adventures! And please, some ROMANCE!!!

Lucy cole as played by lynn herring. If u look at mon preview in slow motion u get a small glimpse of the woman with anna looks like lucy.

Sorry meant lucy coe lol

But did’t we see dark hair?? Maybe it is Anna’s twin sister

I hope it’s not Brenda from the old GH days. Her role always was recycled every time she re-appeared on the show. We know Robin’s alive, so it’s got to be someone else. Dark hair – maybe Gigi from OLTL! If so, Rex will find her-

I’m really looking forward to it.

I really hope it is Robin that Anna will find in that room.

Why do both of my brief comments await moderation?

every comment i make waits for moderation………..i just post my comment & keep moving……………lol

All comments “await moderation.” That’s a good thing…keeps the garbage out.

Ethel. that was funny. Keep moving….

I don’t think whoever the mystery patient is is the surprise. I paused the preview and I could see that it kinda does look like Lucy, but I don’t think it’s her. I think maybe it’s Anna’s twin sister Alex.

Good possibilty !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m sorry, but Frank is the master of overpromising and underdelivering. I’ve heard the hype before. Not buying it.

My sentiments exactly!

We will just have to wait & see on Mon……Don’t count your chickens before they are hatched…………….

I agree

since a small group of us has been watching GH, with a very different view then others, I’m not surprised about any surprise.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the mystery patient; but more we will find out who is Jerry working for…

Please Please Please be Robin, come back Robin we all need you .

Personally, it almost doesn’t matter what or who it will be! The show has been fantastic since Frank and Ron took over!!! I love the fact that I can’t wait for the next episode every day! It’s like the old soap promos where you just had to “tune in tomorrow”!!! Love my GH! Started watching when I was 8 years old, that was 35 yrs ago…….and will watch for another 35 if given the chance!!!

oh mayba Robin clones

I believe Anna finds Robin as TSJ is doing other Projects (not Victor Jr.) !

I hope that it’s Emily! I really miss her! Plus they’ve been mentioning Nicholas a lot lately. Fingers crossed!

Thanks Michael for all you do for the soaps. Can’t wait till Monday’s episode. Friday’s left my husband and I on the edge of our seats. That’s the way soap opera’s were meant to be.

I hope it’s someone worth waiting for! Someone is talking to Jerry.

RUMORS fly you all will have to wait..48 hours of hell until we know ROBIN IS ALIVE.

I’ll play. The woman locked in the room is Brenda. Or maybe, Heather contacts Allison Perkins (OLTL) and its revealed that Victor and Robin are being held by the same person. Or, Anna comes face to face with Duke, or Faison. Or, the mastermind behind the water poisoning is Helena Cassidine.

I think that covers all the rumors I’ve heard. Which one will it be? Or will it be something else…

Okay, GH has got me interested again, guess I’m gonna have to watch on Monday, LOL, it better not be Greenlee (barf), although I wouldn’t mind if it’s Dr. David Hayward from AMC! Really hoping for Robert, Robin, or Natalie.

My thoughts exactly on all points.

PLEASE don’t let it be any “back from the dead” types. If we SAW them die or dead onscreen……leave em that way.

Sorry Rachel,

When JFP and Guza killed off such legacy and loved characters such as Alan Q, Emily Q, Zander, Georgie, Rick Webber…I stopped watching GH. I would love for this surprise to be any character that ‘perished’ at the hands of the previous regime. I would also love it to be Lucy Coe…I almost choked when Kate mentioned Lucy and Erick Kane to Todd the other day! If you want realism with your soaps, you should move on. I want to escape from reality. If that means buying into some characters that were killed off on-screen returning…I’m all for it! If Valentini is able to pull off such a surprise with the internet so present with spoilers…he’s really good and cares about wanting those old soap surprises back. I love it that he and Ron are on Twitter. None of the other soap bosses are.

Oops…I mean’t Erica Kane 🙂

I am thinking Bobbie or Emily. Most likely Emily since Bobbie hasn’t ‘officially’ been named as missing.

Can’t wait to see, should be great! Hope it is revealing where Victor is and the Allison Perkins will be there also!! She is good at playing a psycho person.
Love GH now more than ever. Great work by everyone involved behind the scenes and also the actors in the scenes. If you have not been watching GH now would be a very good time to start watching.

I am really hoping that little Hope will turn up alive somewhere.

PLEASE keep putting Sam and McBain together. I haven’t seen this much chemistry between 2 people since Luke and Laura. They make love to each other with their eyes! Can’t wait to see these 2 together. Ever since you took over as executive producer the show is GREAT! The only problem is the best actors and charactors I love the most are rats and end up being written out. Heather and Jerry Jaks are the best actors. You love to hate them. Please figure out a way to keep Jerry on and bring Heather back! Noone plays a nut better then her. Keep up the good work, and don’t forget to get SAM and MCBAIN TOGETHER!!!!!!!!

Sorry, but I couldn’t DISAGREE more. Can’t stand John with Sam. Makes me dislike both characters immensely. Used to like McBain and was neutral on Sam. Their constantly being in each other’s orbit is annoying and OTT. Enough of these two please.

I AGRRE WITH YOU….

THEY ARE FORCED….

FV…..MADE ME STOP WATCHING,,,,I DONT CARE HOW
MUCH THEY CHANGE THE MOB STUFFF

STEVE BURTON PLEASE STAY..

Nope they belong together.. I can’t agree more with Danny! Have not seen a couple with chemistry on soaps in a very long time… . Both good actors and doing a great job… Lets just keep it on screen though.. if either of the actors are in relationships.. lol

I don’t care for John with Sam……..I still prefer Natalie !!!!!! Hopefully they will resolve their problems…………I still like John but, not with Sam…….

I actually AGREE with you, Danny, and I remember the IMMENSE chemistry that Michael Easton and Kelly Monaco had on PORT CHARLES – this after she was someone else’s girl (Jack).

However, I heard rumblings that people do not like them together – they want her with Jason. I can see both sides, but with Sam sharing a baby with Jason, they really should be together. I am just not sold that they are some great love story. It is disheartening when I heard about how much Steve Burton and Rebecca Herbst wanted to be together on the show but the producers then would have none of it and kind of forced Sam back into Jason’s arms. This was after Sam watched Elizabeth’s son get kidnapped in the park and not say anything. I mean they really made Sam unlikeable, but something happened and they shifted gears and put her back with Jason. Probably has something to do with the “focus groups” they always talk about.

I agree so much on Jerry and Heather. Two amazing actors you truly love to hate. Sebastian Roche has been such a great Jerry recast compared to the original and Robin Mattson is just pure gold – a real scene stealer.

Love Jerry & Heather also. Love to hate them and they are so fun to watch. Loving Todd too.

Natalie is gone and she is not coming back… everyone needs to just get on the Sam and McBain wagon!! They will make beautiful children… and Tea can keep Sam and Jason’s baby for a 10 years. She is a good mother and there is not a lot of drama going on in her life right now. The child will be more functional vs disfuctional for hiis early life!! Jason is leaving the show anyway….

Surprised that only one other person suspected it, but the first brunette I thought of (besides Robin) was Brenda. It would make sense for Jerry to go after her, messing with Sonny and Jax again. GH has been getting everyone back, I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to twist Vanessa Marcil’s arm to come back for a couple of months. (And Anna, since she and Brenda never had scenes together, even though Robin & Brenda were BFFs, wouldn’t recognize her!)

Brenda was some international model so I would think Anna would recognize Brenda if she saw her. I don’t think it is her though. I really believe the “surprise” is the person pulling Jerry’s strings.

I never liked Brenda, so I didn’t want to admit it, but I think it might be her as well. Vanessa Marcil also tweeted a pic of herself soon after Valentini’s tweet that said “Got Brenda?”

i just want OLTL to be brought back….i now watch gh with some of the folks from OLTL, but i want the show back….i also miss AMC…abc still sucks & i will still boycott abc daytime programming except for GH

DITTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Duke Lavery is coming back. I know.

In other news , Tracy E. Bergman from The Young and The Restless is out and there will be a huge reveal regarding Avery “Clark” – Think Matt “Clark”….

from

The TruthTeller

But isn’t the actor that plays him (name escapes me right now) on DAYS or B&B or something? I don’t think it is him.

Christine,

Ian Buchanan was let go from Days months ago. Days tapes 3 months in advance so it sooooooooooo could be Duke! If that’s true, what a great surprise. For Anna, especially in her relationship with Luke. For Robin, when she is found alive! Imagine Sonny meeting Duke Lavery! I hate the mob stuff but I so would love it if Duke was brought back. His character was written much more to be just any old mobster….even though that’s what got him ‘killed’ off when Ian left the show. When Jonathan Paget came on as Duke with plastic surgery, he was good and I was loving his chemistry with Anna…they killed him off again. Paget can be explained to be a phony. No loss there.

I can’t wait until Monday! Thank you FV for making GH appointment tv once again. I don’t even want to guess what the surprise is, I am glad not to know & love being surprised.

Agree Liz! I cannot wait for GH every day. I don’t want to know the surprises in advance either. I LOVE IT.

Duke Lavery !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is he up to???? Is he doing this because of Robert Scorpio or Anna…That he has Robin????

yep,Susan…he’s surrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre did has Robin. Somebody take Jerry Jaxs out of trash. we knew he is rat(LOL)

I read on the soap digest book cover in target today that the character of Bobbie Spencer , well she was fired from GH & that it was a big secret… Hmmm!!! I don’t know about that ??????????? If it is true or not…..Did you catch Gh on Fri. Before Jerry Jaxs came on the t.v. The chew was on for a second…Why would they put that crap on….

susan M., its ABC. They will do whatever they can to force feed that stupid show down our throats even though we keep saying how much we detest it. I’m surprised they haven’t decided to do some kind of subliminal messages during GH to make us watch that drivel … but maybe they are doing that for Katie. Ha! Ha! Won’t work on me.

I don’t like how they are alway’s forcing that cooking show down our thorats every chance they get…………They must be desprite for viewers !!!!!! Because it’s such a LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And no one ever will watch that bulloney!!!!

I JUST LOVE TO SEE AGAIN, NATILIE , AND BO, AND CLINT, AND VICKI FROM OLTL. AND BRING BACK BABY HOPE, FOR STARR. I REALLY WANT JOHN M AND SAM, TOGETHER THEY ARE HOTT TOGETHER, BUT IF WE BRING ON NATILIE ON. THEN WE COULD SEE, CATFIGHTS BETWEEN THE 2 GIRLS, TO MAKE JOHN TO MAKE UP HIS MIND. The mystery patient: ROBIN!!!!!! SHE HAS TO COME BACK FOR GOOD. I MISS HER. The past characters that have to come back, 1.) ALAN 1.) EMILY 2.) BRENDA 3.) NICOLAS 4.) LUCY 5.) KEVIN 6.) ZANDER. I THINK I KNOW, WHO’S REALLY BEHIND THIS, WHOLE THING: ALL OF THE VILLIANS: LISA, HELENA, FASION, DUKE. JERRY, HEATHER. AND EVEN THE VILLIANS, IN THE PAST: MANNY.

loving GH its getting good again, those horrible flashbacks are down, and shown now only when needed, the oltl characters are finally fitting in better, and jerry jax is one hell of a villian, this is must see tv.

Helena & Cesar Faison. The person is directly connected to either Anna or Luke. All of your guesses are off.

Very good guesses !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Faison is from Anna’s past from her WSB day’s…………..

No one ever said that the surprise was an arrival. The surprise could be storyline based, like someone’s related to someone else, or someone dies, or something everyone thought to be true isn’t. I’m not convinced that the surprise is that someone is returning.

Duke Slavery is coming back!

………FV IS TURNING GH INTO OLTL….PEROID

CARLY AND JAX,JOHNNY TODD….DUMB

KATE AND SONNY….I DONT GET

DANTE AND
LULU…THE MESSED THAT UP BECAUSE THEY DONT
WANT TO SEE NOBODY HAPPY….

STARR AND MICHAEL….WHAT ARE THEY DOING?

KRIS AND TREY….?

TRACEY AND JOE JR……REALLY?….FV

ALEX AND SHAWN,……MAYBE….MAYBE NOT….

LIZ AND JASON…..DON’T GET ME STARTED….

AND TO THE BIGGEST BLUNDER…….DRUMROLLL

JOHN AND SAM…..FORCED AND I CANT STAND THE COUPLE

Jasam All The WAY….

……I KNOW FV DONT GIVE A DAM ABOUT COUPLES!!!!!

……..I’M NOT BUYING THE MCBAIN SAMMATHA JUICE…

SPEED UP THE STORYLINE
LET JASAM GET THEIR BABY FROM….TEA,FOR CHRIST SAKE

KOOLIAD IS WHAT HE SELLING TO COUPLES

GH is still on the air. Sheesh…some people cannot just be happy about that. Complain, complain, complain. If the shoe was on the foot, and GH was canceled, I would have loved to have some GH people on the other ABC soap…be it OLTL or AMC. If you have that many complaints, please move on. Your getting yourself all worked up and its tiring for fans like me who have stuck by GH through the great times (Wendy Riche) to the dismal times (JFP). With budgets the way the are and soaps in peril, Ron and Frank are doing great.

……..JUST PUT JASON AND SAM TOGETHER WITH THEIR CHILD…

I DONT CARE OR GIVE A FLYING F**** ABOUT EVERYTHING

ELSE…

KOOLAID JUICE IS STILL WHAT HE SELLING TO THE AUDENICE

SO I’M GOING TO COMPLAIN ALL THE DAM TIME,,,,,,,,,

AND FURTHER MORE, REUNITED NAT WITH MCBAM….

NOBODY NOT INTRESTED IN MCBAIN HOOKING
UP WITH SAM!!!…..

AND STEVE BURTON YOU GOREGOUS!!!!!
THE WRITING IS SKETCHY

I’M ASKING FOR HAPINESS FOR JASAM
AND DANTA LULU

I agree with your comments on 8/27 at 6:44a.m. I wish Anna would find Robin already…………At the clinic where Anna was today(Mon.) it wasn’t Robin she found..Then you see the woman that is in charge of the clinic talking to someone and it is Duke Lavery….What has he to do w/everything???? Why does he have Robin??? Anna & Duke where in love years ago..What does he have against Anna or is it Robert scorpio he has this vendetta with ….

Did you see on GH Friday before Jerry Jax’s came on the T.V. You saw that crappy show The Chew……………..

Love that Elizabeth switched the sound off when The Chew came on! Also did you catch that the gift box Tracy gave Joe was from Wyndham’s, the department store that Luke and Laura got locked in years ago. And the mention of Skye! Great writing happening for smart viewers.

I def like intelligent and creative writers!

I agree.

Also loved that Jerry asked the citizens of Port Charles if they were wondering what happened to their soap opera when he cut into the Chew.

I noticed the gift box was from Wyndams too. I loved that. Also loved Jerry asking if he was interrupting their soaps. Loving GH, even if I’m not drinking the McBam Kool-aid. I can live through that until John comes to his senses and Sam finds her own man. John is a rebound.

Also loved Kate’s references to Lucy Coe, Erica Kane and Blair Cramer. Would love to see Lucy or Blair, Erica – not so much. sorry.

The Chew just seeing it for that short time made me annoyed to see it on Gh of all places….That cooking show belongs under a rock & never to be found again….I don’t like cooking shows & I never ever watched those kind of programs…

Olivia Jerome

I almost choked…in a good way…when Kate mentioned both Lucy Coe and Erica Kane to Todd the other day. Love the past being respected.

Natalie, I guess you dont care that Natalie and John fans what her on.
Jax sucks…waste on canvans.

Greenlee? Eh.

Maybe it’s Erica? Her plane crashed into Port Charles or something…..lol.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

on

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
