On Friday afternoon, General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) took to her Instagram Story accompanied in the car by her best friend, Emme Rylan (Ex-Lulu, GH) that she just underwent brain surgery.  In the video, Storms was in a neck brace.

In her message to her fans and friends, Kirsten shared: “I’ve not really spoken about this much, or at all, actually.  But, less than 48 hours ago, I had brain surgery, hence the neck brace.  It was on the lower portion of my brain. Emme is taking care of me until I get to my at-home nurse. It has been an interesting last couple of days.”

Kirsten went to clarify what kind of surgery it was, revealing: “What they had to drain and remove was not cancer. I want to clarify that right now before the Internet, goes crazy wild with rumors about this. I had a very large cyst that had split into two and the doctor said it was so full, the pressure was very noticeable when they opened up my skull.”

Now that the pressure is relieved from her brain, Storms will be healing and taking time off from work at GH, expressing: “I will be on the mend for the next several weeks. I will be back at work when this is over with.”

I’m so relieved it isn’t worse. Very sweet of Emme to be with her. I pray Kirsten has a good recovery and all of this can be behind her soon. Seems like she was having a good time at GH this year before this happened. The writer’s have been giving Kirsten some good stuff. Her scenes have been fantastic this week. Also, I hope the writers bring Emme back this year.

Kirsten, please take care of yourself. Speedy recovery. Rest and recup. Looking forward to watching you always on GH

I know this will not be a popular statement but Kristen will keep you in my prayers and i know God has you in his arms .

Nothing wrong with that at all.

No problem with mentioning God, as that’s thoughtful. The issue is her name is Kirsten – not Kristen.

K, nothing at all mentioning GOD and PRAYERS…Kirsten is wonderful in her role as Maxie and PRAYERS and HEALING which comes from GOD…Also Kirsten was blessed to have a dear friend in Emme to take care of her…

Hey I just misspelled her name and I have been doing a lot of that lately! Trust me God knows who I was talking about! Thank you she is in my prayers that little thing has been thru horrible times

Healing light to Kirsten! May she have a speedy recovery.

Get well soon, Kirsten!! Sending well wishes and good, positive vibes and prayers your way!!
