GH's Kristina Wagner Opens Up About Working With Her Ex-Husband, Jack Wagner!

Kristina Wagner has been a longtime fan favorite as Felicia on General Hospital.  In addition to life in Port Charles, Wagner appeared in the Hallmark Channel drama When Calls The Heart in 2015, which stars Kristina’s former real-life husband and former GH star, Jack Wagner (Ex-Frisco Jones).

In a new installment of Oprah: Where Are They Now? airing this Saturday, March 5th at 10PMESTon OWN, Kristina recalls when Jack asked her if she would like to take on a role in When Calls The Heart.

Kristina expressed what it was like, or if she had any apprehension working with her ex: “I got a phone call from Jack that said, ‘What do you think? Would you like to come work with us up in Vancouver, and be a part of the show?'”

She said it was not a problem working with Jack again:  “It’s so much easier, because I can go on set and establish my boundaries and my needs and my wants and get through these scenes, and work with him as a professional actress rather than a girlfriend or wife.  It’s really important.  It’s fun. We’re having fun.”

Watch a clip from Kristina’s interview on Oprah: Where Are They Now? after the jump!  Then let us know, do you wish Jack Wagner would return to GH again and share scenes with Kristina, or has that ship sailed since Felicia chose Mac (John J. York) after the Nurses’ Ball in 2014? Comment below!

I will always hope jack Wagner returns to GH one day. Frisco and Felicia are soulmates and if we got him back Mac wouldn’t stand a chance. Frisco and Felicia have that amazing love story from the past. There the Jasam from there day.pleas return jack you are so missed. They are what got me hooked on gh

Frisco can return anytime if the writing is good and if it means more Felicia…i remember when GH felt like an ensemble show…now its either Jason/Sam/Liz, Nick/Hayden, Sonny/Carly or Nina/Franco while the rest of the cast are used as stage props or not shown at all….the shows opening should feature Laura, Monica and Tracy…Monica should not be recurring…bring back Jeff Webber…i doubt RDA would return so i would settle for a recast…would be nice if Liz’s father made a visit and even nicer if Monica and Jeff rekindled their old relationship.

Agree with you. GH is all about Sam/Jason & the Liz nonsense & Sonny/Carly again. How many times do we have to see Sonny/Carly together for the like thousand time. Monica should definelty be contract as well as Ric. Rick Hearst is an amazing talented actor that should be into the stories going on now & he deserves a great s/l & Love Interest of his own. Would love to see much more of Mac & Felicia. Like the story with Tracy hope it continues. Done with the Hayden/Nick thing. She would have been better off with Ric. And if I see Alexis & Julian doing nothing but having sex I’m going to vomit. They are so boring. He was better when he was in the mob & they were having disagreements about it. Hope he still is & give him some interest. Right now he couldn’t be more boring if he tried. And Yes if tptb could write a good story would love to see Frisco back. Ned is coming back which is good. Now just get Ric back on screen & things would be better with the vets on. Ric Ned Tracy Monica Felicia Mac Laura more Robert & Anna.

Excellent post Jim!

Well, they have kids together so its good to see they get along. Now, my theory on Felicia. Seems she has Lauraitis! Not taking anything away from Genie or Kristina but GH could never find a way to write for these ladies unless they were attached to Luke and Frisco. Laura has tons of family on the show and they do NOTHING with her! Felicia doesnt have a lot of family but her and Maxie are great together. They had a scene the other day where Felicia bought Nathan a poodle. It was great! Do more things like this! Use these ladies with all this talent waiting to be released!

Felicia looks like she could be Maxie’s big sister–she is eternally youthful and beautiful. She is also quite charming and it is mind boggling that they don’t have her in front burner storylines along with Mac.
No, instead we get slimy Nina or the overwrought Ava and all the scenery is chewed up.

We need Felicia & Mac back on contract with a great story. They are great together. Wouldn’t mind if Frisco came back, if a good story could be written even if it’s a short arc. Great Ned is coming back. We need our vets like Ned Ric Monica Tracy Anna Laura Robert in great story for them. A little less of Alexis & Julian. Ever since he supposedly left the mob they are so boring. All they do is have sex. They had more interest when they fought over the mob. Still believe he’s in it up to his neck. Ric needs to be back on screen with a great story. Rick Hearst is a amazing actor that can do it all. Such talent!!

On the surface I can concur with your theory, Timmm, but only in the most superficial of ways. Yes, there is a like situation in the that there is a dearth of good storylines for both ladies, but that’s where the similarity ends. With the effervescent Genie we have a true GH star in every sense of the word….she was at the forefront of the show when Luke came on to ride her already impressive coattails to supercoupledom. The opposite is true of Felicia….her greatest contribution to Port Charles has always been as the other half of Frisco in their pairing, and without him, there’s little else to be said for her. Remember, Jack Wagner was an existing sensation when she was brought on for the Aztec Treasure arc….he had previously arrived and was a huge hit!!! Quite frankly, I always tolerated her simply for the sheer pleasure of seeing him, and after his departure, his “ex-wife” became part of the scenery, and not much to write home about when given new partners. Even the once exciting Mac became rather boring when they ended up “together.” (Although I found him quite wonderful during his recent escapades with Anna….welcome back to the old Mac!) In other words, like so many characters, I can take or leave Felicia, and even though I certainly do want Frisco back on the GH canvas to repair the damage Ron C. did to him, I would be just as happy to see him return with his head held high, and ready for a new adventure with a different woman who can appreciate him! Perhaps Anna or even Laura…..but as far as Felicia goes? Nope, she made her marital bed, now she can lie in it! No more chances for her with this singing superspy extraordinaire!

“All I need is just a little more time
To be sure of what I feel is it all in my mind
‘Cause it seems so hard to believe
That you’re all I need”

Frisco’s feelings for Felicia and my feelings for your posts! I know, I’m weird but creative people tend to be! I think you flushed out the truth, its not about Felicia at all, its my desire to have Frisco back! I love him and I love your idea that he and Anna could have sparks? I hope to hell that Maddox and Anna are not heading done romance highway! You do bring up a good point about the character of Felicia. I feel the same about Laura. I get attacked if I say Laura was nothing without Luke! Well, I love Genie Francis but she has been back on now for a year and what has she done? People blame writing but I believe that NO writers know what to do with her! Frisco was on before Felicia and Laura was on before Luke BUT Luke prevailed and Frisco is wanted back!

Later Rachel!

Well, upon that we can heartily agree, Timmm! I also want Frisco back in Port Charles! (Just not for a reunion with Felicia……) He can run the town, the PCPD, whatever his heart desires….it would be great for Maxie to have her father close by and there are enough old friends around with whom Mr. Jones can reconnect…..particularly the oh so lovely Anna! (I actually envisioned him with this sultry spitfire of a spy back in the day….I always thought they’d be perfect together, both in physical appearance and temperament.) Having said that, don’t forget that “All I Need,” although a magnificent love song, was never intended for Felicia…..it preceded her! Alas, that tune was “dedicated” to Tania Roskov, possibly the most bland, banal female character GH had ever seen prior to Emily Q and of course, the current Sabs! (And yes, I loathed her with about the same intensity….) It was not until after Tania “chose” Frisco’s bro, “Dr. Tony” over him that he flipped for Felicia, although I was never sold on that romance either. From my perspective, she always seemed too immature and unsophisticated for him…..unlike Anna!!!! At any rate, I also agree about the Maddox thing…..it just doesn’t work for me….I like Ms. Devane with men of action!!!! (As one of my old cheers went: “Action, action, we want action!!!!! Yay…..) Finally, I do admit that Luke and Laura will forever go together like peanut butter and jelly….they created a synergistic effect and were always better together than apart. I’m just giving Genie credit where credit is due in terms of her own accomplishments on the GH canvas long before anyone knew who Luke Spencer was!!!!

Jack Wagner was screwed over last time so I dont know if he will return until there is a new boss. We all remember that stupid scene where Felicia picked Mac over Felicia and I agree with you, Mac is a better choice but how about them having Frisco bully the BRITCH! I like that he was there for Maxie but it was a little too much! You are so right Casey Kasem about “All I Need” BUT it was THE big hit off the show. “Lady of my Heart” was Felicia’s song from Frisco. And watch it there sweetie, I liked Tania BUT with Tony. Your not a “Luke Lover” but if you ran into him at the gas station pumping gas you would go bonkers! “Mr. Geary, Mr. Geary!”

Hey Timmmbo, I actually thought that it was hilarious when Frisco called Britt “Toots” and put her in her place, and that’s from someone who absolutely loved her character….but she was totally out of line with Maxie! At least Mr. Jones didn’t look ineffectual when he was on the warpath with Dr. Westbourne, quite unlike when he beat that hasty retreat after the humiliating outcome to his musical proposal to Felicia, after she chose Mac, the “safe” choice of man, just like the yawn-inducing Tania did with Tony. (Having said that, I do see a certain physical likeness between Hayden and Ms. Roskov…..guess that’s just your “type”….LOL!) By the way, I think “Too Young” would have been a far better selection for Frisco’s last NB performance…..it would have fit in the with the theme of his wanting a second chance with his ex, plus, it’s a great song….one of my favorite Wagner tunes! However, a hit is a hit, and that’s what “All I Need” was! As for AG, no, I don’t believe I would even acknowledge him if I were to see him out and about….first because he would probably prefer it that way, and secondly, because I’m so past him. I cannot say the same for Jack Wagner though…..since I’m not one to pump my own gasoline, I would probably act the damsel in distress, and cry for help from “Frisco Jones!”

Always have wished for a happy ending for these two!

Me too! But I believe their sons are their greatest accomplishment. Their love story was a gift to the fans.

Jack & Kristina are magic together, on and off-screen. It’s so great that they have worked out their differences enough that they can work together on When Calls the Heart. I started watching that show because they were on it. They are paired with others on that show. If Jack came back to GH, there would have to be hope for a Frisco/Felicia reunion. But we can be satisfied with just that .. hope. We waited 7 years for Robert&Anna to finally get beyond the “best ex-es” stage, that slow burn was what made it all the more fun when passion finally reignited. A Frisco/Felicia/Mac triangle could go on for years and could be a lot of fun to watch. And Jack&Kristina wouldn’t have to do any love scenes. Just banter. Like Robert/Anna/Duke. But make it clear to us there is true love lurking just beneath the surface. Meanwhile, Frisco, Felicia, Robert, Anna & Mac team up to take down the bad guys. Make GH great again.

I would love JW back in any format. There is a lot of story for Frisco with Maxie, Anna and lucas (as his brother’s ‘son”) not to mention laura. And he knew Ned and theQ’s for years. If JWand KW wanted to “reunite” that would be perfect but if they did not–Frisco could go with Laura, Olivia, or Diane or any number of already women on GH. It would be funny if he wound up with NINA…and frankly how fellicia, and Mac handled him being in their lives might make them both have more story and be more interesting. O f course if robert came back that would be great.
On personal note, I thought the way it “ended’ was not true to the char of Felicia or even Frisco. She said exactly what she said so he would leave town for good and he knows it. contrast to colton or anyone else. that is not in her heart. The rush to marry mac showed she was scared and Mac looked like a wuz just taking her up on it . after all he had been living with her and then she couldn’t make up her mind when Frisco returned. Cant’ see my hubby understanding that.
Don’t think a return of any kind will happen but obviously from WCTH they are capable of acting together in a friendly way. Love to see F/F with a big fight and back in bed together again. lol . yes, that won’t happen but I can dream.

I watched clips of Frisco ‘ s return story in 1989 last night and boy those days were great! The Wsb cluster of characters always saved the day as trusty best friends. The only way to make room for Frisco would be by reestablishing the spy element of the show. Being back a writer from the 80s to the present writing team. Bring Frisco back

If only GH would get Sri Rao as head writer! He loves and respects the ’80s era (not only had a great story for Robert&Anna on Night Shift 2, he brought in Sean & Tiffany for a dream sequence!) I know he would do a bang-up job of writing for Frisco and Felicia.

I agree with you.

I just want to see Frisco and Robert onscreen together again for the first time in 25 years. The timing has never been right for my wish to be granted in these last four years as Robert left just as Frisco returned and then Robert returned after Frisco left. The witty sarcastic banter between those two mixed in with real brotherly feelings was so enjoyable. I challenge anyone to watch old clips of Robert and Frisco in scenes together and you will see why I need to see them together again on GH.

agree with you and maybe they can bring Allan and Emily back. Maybe Halina had them captive on a second hidden island.

I wish that they would bring back Kristina and Mac. It would also be nice to have Jack Wagner stop by.

Frisco and Felicia were the first super couple that I absolutely fell head over heels for and rooted for to be together. I was only a little girl at the time, but I loved, loved, loved Frisco and Felicia. I remember Frisco singing “Lady of my Heart” and “All I Need” to Felicia. Those were the days, when daytime was full of adventure and romance. I was devastated when Jack Wagner first left the show! I also thought, and still do, that Kristina was absolutely beautiful, stunning, and I would love to see her on-screen more often.

Frisco HAS to come back at some point! Ron C ruined the character when he came back for the 50th Anniversary and they need to redeem him. JW was really ticked how they wrote Frisco’s short arc back and they owe it to him, the character and the fans to fix it. I was forced into watching GH as a kid by my family and Frisco is the reason I got addicted. My favorite character of all time. There are so many ways they could bring him back and redeem him. Starting with how he isnt a dead beat Dad, rather his the WSB threatened to go after his family if he ever left the organization. They could even do something crazy and have him come back with an alive Georgie and say he rescued her from one of his enemies that had her. Anyways, there are all kinds of stories they could come up with that would satisfy the loyal watchers.

It would be the best news ever if Frisco returned to Port Charles. Of course, they would have to do a much better job than his last return (which ended horribly). His return would mean more Felicia and the chance to have scenes with Maxie, Robert and Anna. As Ryan states above, Frisco Jones is my favorite character of all time, so bring him back and bring justice back to the character!!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
