This week on General Hospital, things take a turn for Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) when his son Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel), finally communicates with him and it could force the dark prince to make a decision as to just what his relationship truly is about with Ava Jerome (Maura West).
According to a preview in the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstand now, Spencer wants Nikolas to divorce Ava, in order to allow his dad to come back into his life.

But according to Coloma, it’s not so easy when Nik tells Ava about Spencer’s request. “They get into a fight that is very contentious,” Marcus shares. Then he adds, “It’s so complicated between them. I don’t know if she actually has love for Nikolas, or if she’s just genuinely after his money and the house. And it’s the same with Nikolas. I think it’s kind of about the money for him, but there’s also a deeper connection between Ava and Nikolas.”
So, in this game of cat and mouse between Nikolas and Ava, it appears to be winner take all for that Cassadine fortune, no matter what the cost. But in the process, what will happen to Spencer and Nikolas’ relationship?
Through their greed, will Ava and Nikolas be drawn romantically to each other and this becomes more of a love-match that neither of them saw coming no matter how much they protest?
Share your thoughts below. What do you think should happen in the relationship between Nikolas and Ava?
Im used to him in the part now tho he looks younger than his real age…i think he has good chemistry with Liz…

AGREED. I loved Tyler Christopher, and I really liked Nick Stabile. I just can’t take this one seriously.

It should end IMMEDIATELY. Shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Ava has a daughter who would have been more suited for Nikolas. Ava could be his MOTHER, for heaven’s sake! She seems a contemporary of Laura, Nik’s mother.

ouch, for the record Maura West is only 6yrs older the Marcus Coloma, I know people think he’s to young for the role, but he’s not and if were gonna do math technically Genie Francis is only probably around 15 years older so she could be his teenage mom, more so then Tyler Christopher who is older then Marcus, but all that shouldn’t matter anyways because usually the actors always often enough play younger then their actual age, so my long point is, I only see this complain about age with the female characters if they’re older then their male… Read more »

Nancy…lol….if you follow the timeline of the show….Nikolas came on in 1996 as a 16 year old. In real time…that’s 24 years ago. So Nioklas is easily 40. From what we know of Kiki’s age….and the Ryan’s Hope tie in with Delia as Ava’s mother…..Ava is approximately 46…give or take. She looks older than Liz…Nikolas etc……because she plays a harder, darker character. We have fond memories of Lucky, Liz, and Nik as teens and tend to still think of them that way, but they are all people in their 40’s. Ava is in no way a contemporary of Laura s…Maura… Read more »

I know all that of course, but you also know that GH “twists” time; I’m talking and I’m talking about how that plays into the verisimilitude of the story line and the character. The situation has to convey that semblance of believability to the viewer or “all is lost.” 🙂

Marcus Coloma / Nicolas

Maura West / Ava

7 yrs- That doesn’t even qualify Ava as a Cougar LOL
But– I can’t imagine them having sex, nope..
If, it were to happen then- lucky Ava! 😉

And thank you (again!) Su, for making my point. What we “can imagine” is All in a drama. Thank you! Thank you! You “get it” also, As I imagine a lot of other viewers do.

I ADORE nu Nic and love the chemistry begween the two! When he whispers in her ear..stands beside her or near her…the chemistry is palpable through the screen! I’m so hoping GH has them realize their love for each orher. It’s obvious Ava’s into him…surprised the actor doesn’t realize that.

I like Nikolas and Ava together. There’s untapped potential for these two to fight and love in love in the old-fashion Hollywood movie way. This letter from Spencer ~ haven’t seen that episode yet ~ but I find it hard to imagine Spencer actually writing such a letter in order to allow his father back in his life. Something just doesn’t ring true. I guess I’ll have to watch it and see, but I’m doubtful.

I’m doubtful to but it will be interesting how they’re gonna have it play out. I say this because Ava does care for Spencer, so if she refuses then what does that mean?

Suddenly, Nikolas was revealed to be alive to everyone in town, then shoved right to the back burner.
Like others mentioned, not sure the spark is there with him & Ava. And Maura West has chemistry with everyone/everything.

maura’s got sexy chem with everyone but these writers are lost.Nik isn’t written as strong maybe try nik & jordan while curtis & ava bond fighting off cyrus.I loved the other versions on nava, but ava’s too much fun to be with gloomy Nik.A simpler woman like Jordan fits him now.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith Visits ‘Tamron Hall’ and Talks On His Recurring Role of GH’s Brick
May 24, 2023
On yesterday’s, May 23rd episode of Tamron Hall, ESPN sports personality, Stephen A. Smith was a guest for a special interview, while Smith was at his second home away from home, General Hospital.
Smith, plays the recurring role of Sonny’s tech expert/’henchmen’, Brick, on the ABC daytime drama series. Stephen A., who is a longtime fan of GH, shared with Hall just how lucky he is to be given a chance to have a Port Charles alter-ego. Since 2016, the powers-that-be have found ways to keep Smith’s character returning to the GH canvas to help out his pal, Sonny, when the mobster is in dire straits.

Stephen expressed: “I’ve been blessed and fortunate because I do scenes primarily with the star of the show. And we’ve developed an incredible friendship, Maurice Benard (Sonny) and myself. I can’t tell you the amount of times that he’s pulled me to the side and he sat down with me and he’s embraced it and he’s like, ‘Here’s where I want you to go.’”
In caring moment, Benard was sensitive to a real-life event that happened in Smith’s life … the passing of his mother. Smith shared, “I remember there was a scene where he (Sonny) had lost a relative and literally he said to me, ‘I don’t want to offend you here,’ and he brought up losing my mother in 2017.”
Maurice, then gave Smith some acting advice, “I need you to go back to that moment. I need you to embrace how you were feeling at that moment in time.’ He said, ‘I’m only coming to you because I know you can. I need you to do it.’ And that was exactly what I did.”

The longtime ESPN host and journalist, also released his autobiography, Straight Shooter earlier this year. When Hall questioned him on how he has persevered through the years, Smith admitted that it’s about, “Longevity … thinking about smelling the roses. I’m not one to sit around and smell it, but I want to do things and associate myself with things that allows me to know that I’m reaping the fruits of my labor.”
As to his crazy schedule, Stephen admitted, “I’m still going to outwork 99% of the people out there. I don’t stop. I’m a machine and I know it and I’m proud of it. ”

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Will Nina’s Guilty Conscience Ruin a Marriage Proposal From Sonny?
May 22, 2023
This week on General Hospital, Sonny (Maurice Benard) has a marriage proposal for Nina (Cynthia Watros). However, she’s feeling the walls may be closing in on her when she regrets her actions against Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Carly (Laura Wright). As GH viewers know, she had turned them into the SEC for insider trading as a revenge-tactic against Carly.
In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest on newsstands now, Sonny (Maurice Benard) is set to take a big step and ask Nina to marry him. This, comes on the heels of Nina bowing out of attending Michael (Chad Duell) and Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) wedding, to keep the peace in the family, and letting him attend alone.
On the latest developments, Maurice Benard shared with SOD on the marriage proposal: “It’s not an immediate yes from Nina. I think because she’s already done the bad deed (of calling the SEC). She’s trying to get out of it, so she doesn’t dig herself deeper.”
Previewing Sonny’s profession of love to Nina, the three-time Daytime Emmy winner said of the upcoming scenes: “That was my job as an actor, to convince her in this monologue that, ‘I don’t care about what you’ve done.’ He doesn’t care about anything but her, ‘and I love you, and let’s do this.'”
As to how he thinks Sonny’s proposal to Nina stacks up with others in his GH career, “I’m not saying this is the best, but I am saying it’s up there with the best that I’ve had.”
Of course, what will happen if Sonny finds out what Nina did to Carly with the SEC insider trading deception? Stay tuned.
Check out the promo for this week’s GH below, then let us know. Are you hoping Sonny and Nina get engaged? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
