GH's Nicolas Bechtel Lands Role In New Disney Channel Series STUCK IN THE MIDDLE!

That Port Charles scene stealer, Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer Cassadine) can add another role to his growing resume at quite the young age. Now comes word that GH’s Bechtel is set to co-star in the new Disney Channel series Stuck in the Middle!
Variety reported today that the new series will star Jane the Virgin’s Jenna Ortega and the family sitcom marks a move toward Latino-targeted programming for the cable outlet.
The single-cam series is centered around the Diaz family, and is told from the perspective of the middle child, Harley, played by Ortega. Turns out that Harley is an engineering whiz who uses her inventions to navigate life as the middle child in a large family of seven kids. Harley’s overlooked status proves to be both a blessing and a curse, as she maneuvers her way through the everyday antics that come with being part of a big family.
As for Bechtel he will play the role of Harley’s brother, Danny! The rest of the kids in the Diaz clan are either familiar faces to the Disney Channel audience or newcomers.
Look for the comedy to make it’s debut in the spring 2016 with production slated to begin this November.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

General Hospital Fan Club Weekend brought out many of your favorites to the four day event; with the main cast gathering on Saturday, August 1. Fans near and far attended the weekend held this year at the Burbank Marriott Hotel. Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.

Congratulations Nicolas! I have one condition PLEASE PLEASE Don’t leave Uncle Sonny & my Spencer on #GH. PLEASE
The only way this precocious kid could go is up. How could he not? I always knew there was something very special and magnetic about him….and with a name such as Nicolas….well, there you go! That’s my boy’s name. LOL. There’s a honed, keen intelligence attached to that name. No joke. Bechtel, evident even as a child, has that charming, fascinating and alluring quality that demands attention. He can work that camera ‘everywhichway’….and the viewer. Captivating. I don’t know…..he just does it for me…..I love this kid!
It won’t be long before he gets a role in the big screen.
Disney takes kids and runs them into the ground and hopefully the lucky few rise from the Evil Queen’s ashes and makes a name for themselves..and not tabloid..Disney has been constantly leaning towards a Hispanic lean for many years..we get it..all actors are relevant..we don’t need your saccharine sentiments to prove that point..JMO

CeeCee I didn’t realize till I posted that it sounded like the end of my comment was directed at you when it was actually directed at Disney for not taking better care to make sure during a child’s tenure they realize they have to grow up and stop being a Disney kid and be a real adult.

He’s very talented so it’s not a surprise that Disney recognized it and cast him in a series. As long as he can still be on GH I’m fine with it and wish him the best. He’s comedy relief on GH would hate to lose him!

I really hope they don’t SORAS Spencer yet! There’s still some more storylines they can do with the kid! Also, I really hope they won’t do what they did with Michael, have Spencer shot and aged while he’s in a coma!
Well I hope he gets to still do GH since the recent news is that the new writers plan to cut down on the kid storylines. He does ET with Mario Lopez occasionally. He’s adorable and a great little actor. At first I disliked his character (because he is that good an actor) but then Soencer grew on me.
I loved him on GH, but i’m ready for the kiddies to be SORASed: Emma, Joss, Spencer, Cameron.
In a family of 7 kids, Bechtel will need to continue his scene stealing in order to be seen!
I’m sure it’s great for this actor’s resume, but these Disney channel kids’ shows are so nauseating and predictable with annoying, precocious, overacting children. You can’t expect many GH viewers to follow Bechtel there.

Congrats to him! What an absolutely adorable, charming, natural young actor. He embodies lil Spencer and seems to have an innate ability to understand his character. I adore his scenes; he’s the epitome of lovable.
Congratulations to Nicholas! Selfishly, I hope that does’t mean we’ll no longer see him on GH. I love Spencer and his interaction with his father and Emma…well, everyone. The kid is terrific!

Luuv Luuv Luuv Spencer’s character. I am so very proud of him and plus he deserves more of a challenge than what GH is limiting him to. He is small bundle of talent ready to take over the main screen with his creativity, quirkiness, unique delivery, no wonder somebody else picked him up. Good job Bechtel Lands! I’ll be watching!

I’m happy for Nicolas but a little scared that this will lead to him leaving GH. As Spencer he is nothing short of phenomenal. He’s totally adorable and can steal a scene from any of the vets or carry a scene all by himself. I’ve also been afraid the show would decide to SORAS Spencer, which would be terribly disappointing.
