GH’s Rebecca Herbst Thanks Fans for the Birthday Love
She is not often on social media, but when she does show up, it delights so many of her enduring fans. General Hospital’s Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), who yesterday celebrated her birthday on May 12th, took to Twitter to share warm ‘thank you’s’ to a few fan factions who sent her some lovely gifts in honor and support of their favorite soap star.
Herbst expressed: “Yesterday was such a beautiful day! THANK YOU for all your sweet Birthday messages! #Friz & #Liason showered me with the most gorgeous flowers, cakes & goodies. And #Friz donated $2500 to #SmileTrain. I felt very loved. I’m so grateful for each & every one of you. …XO”
Of course, the Friz fans loved Liz with Franco (Roger Howarth) and the Liason fans are those who love Liz with Jason (Steve Burton).
Now with Roger Howarth returning to the show – in what is at this juncture still a mystery as who he will play – will Rebecca be paired with Roger in story again, or not this time? Do you think Liz might end up romantically with Finn (Michael Easton), or is there still a chance that down the line Liz and Jason could get back together, or could Liz meet someone new? Only time will tell!
For now, Herbst was thankful for the money donated to the Smile Train charity and all the wonderful gifts and messages that came her way.
So, what did you think of Becky’s thank you message? Who are you hoping Liz winds up with romantically in the future? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
Love Becky, she’s always so appreciative of the fans and never fails to thank us. I’m glad she loved the flowers and Smile Train donation, she deserves to be celebrated, every year.
I’m still very hopeful for Friz, I think Roger and Becky have the most electric onscreen chemistry I’ve ever seen, and I can’t see at this point how Roger can come
back as anyone but Franco, given where we are in his murder story and the timeframe… BUT I’m a BeckyFF and always will be, so I’m just hopeful for some good story to come Elizabeth’s way, no matter the pairing.
She’s a warm and generous woman and deserves accolades all on her own but honestly I’ve have never been so enamoured with a pairing on a show, prime time or daytime Friz captured my heart with heir playful and romantic stories as well as the mysteries they had the opportunity to share. I’m hoping the writers are exercising their creative imagination and return hm as Franco
I love Rebecca, wish she had more air time, I cringe every time I see Carly inserted in every storyline, while Rebecca’s Elizabeth gets less airtime then non contract players, its really messed up. Still, when she’s on she’s magical, Happy Birthday Rebecca.
She is a living person I do not think it ever enters her mind I be jealous or vindictive like I said she is a good soul so take the scenes you get with her abs appreciate it why do you think RH wanted to work with her? They all love her so she is the winner no matter if she has story or not
Happy (Belated) Birthday!
I am sooo happy she’s on GH! Hope she remains there for many more years to come and enjoys it.
Becky is the very definition of love and grace. She deserves every bit of any accolades coming her way.
As a LizFF, I’ve loved almost all her pairings at one time or another. I would probably be up for a Liz/Rogers nu character pairing because they really did generate the best chemistry, but otherwise, new character for me. Finn is her sisters baby daddy, Finn is still clearly in love with Anna, I dont want Liz to be second choice. Mostly I just want Liz to have a story about HER, not her love interest, not her kid, not nurse #3. She got no POV about her husband dying. This has got to change. BH is a wonderful actress, has a large fanbase and the fact that TPTB refuse to give her anything to sink her teeth into, is a mistake on their part.
I think she is wonderful !!! God bless her soul !
Have you ever heard of one person that did not want to work with her?? Answer no so she is a good soul I have never heard a unkind word out of her mouth if she was my employee I would give her the moon !
Under this new writing regime this past year or so, Elizabeth has continously served as a plot point for other people’s stories. From her rekindled friendship/”flirtation” with Nikolas as means of building story for Nava to worrying about and wrongfully accusing Jason of having killed her husband. By the way, on what planet would Franco and Elizabeth be okay with their spouses kissing others or that Elizabeth wouldn’t visit Jason in prison to clarify her doubts? These past few years, Elizabeth has become increasingly isolated as a character. People in her life have either died, left town, or are hardly on the show to begin with (Franco, Lucky, Emily, Robin, Patrick, Epiphany, Hayden, Felix, Sabrina, etc…) People she normally had significant connections with in the past, whether they were friends or frenemies, she really hardly has any scenes with them anymore (Nikolas, Jason, Carly, Maxie, and Sam). She now mainly has short scenes with Laura or scenes with Finn where Elizabeth serves as a sounding board. In order for her to be a viable character once again, the writers need to rebuild old and new connections so that Elizabeth is once again a part of a story and we’ll gain more insight into her own thoughts and POV. Right now, Elizabeth appears a two-dimensional character who doesn’t appear to even mourn her husband who just died, outraged that her son pulled a gun on a police officer or concerned that he’s throwing away an opportunity to attend a very prestigious college. Until Elizabeth is seen having meaningful interactions with others, what’s the point of giving her a new love interest? She will only be used to prop her love interest. As an Elizabeth and Rebecca Herbst fan, it has been very frustrating watching GH this past year. Elizabeth is a character that’s been on the show 24 years and many of us want to see her as an integral part of the canvas once again. Once that’s established, hopefully she will be in story with a new love interest that’s well written and will honour her history on the show.
You are beautiful, Rebecca–inside and out. Happy, Happy Birthday and a million more!!
Rebecca shines as Liz, as well–if only she were given the chance to recapture her life, instead of so much drama and trauma thrown her way.
I appreciate her steadfast love for Franco. If his return is definite; I so hope he will reappear as Franco again by some kind of Divine Providence.
Perhaps Elizabeth will be the heroine and connect all the dots leading to Cyrus’ and Peter’s dastardly deeds. Will she uncover Elijah as a part of Cyrus’ corrupt circle?

Maurice Benard Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’ Writers; Teases Upcoming Sonny Scenes with Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric

With the highly-anticipated returns of Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on this week’s June 24 episode of General Hospital, Steve Burton’s (Jason Morgan) upcoming return on July 13, which also serves as the ABC daytime drama’s 16,000 episode, things are about to fire on all cylinders in the story, as noted today by series star, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).
On Father’s Day, the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor and mental health activist took to his Instagram and expressed in a video that he has some unbelievable upcoming senes with the aforementioned Burton and Hughes. Add to that Nazneen Contractor (Justine Turner) and Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing), where Benard gave credit where credit is due to the GH writing team, which is led by co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten..
In this video, Benard said, “I just want to get on here and say that I did some work with Steve Burton, Finola Hughes, Rick Hearst, Nazneen Contractor, and they’re all just fantastic. Truly fantastic. But, I want to say the writing was just exceptional. It truly was. It was exceptional. So, thankful for that kind of writing. I know writers don’t get the credit a lot, but I just want to say to the General Hospital writing team, keep rolling!”
GENERAL HOSPITAL PREVIEW
So now the question becomes, with a major tease like that, what is about to go down between Sonny, Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric? Will we finally get to the end of the line for Sidwell (Carlo Rota), as previously teased by the GH co-head writers? Will we learn what happened to Jason and Anna, fully? Will Justine and Sonny becomes closer or stop their liaisons? And what of Ric? Will he be true blue to his brother or double-cross him? There is a lot at stake as we move further into the summer and one that looks like it could be one of the more exciting ones in years!
FINOLA HUGHES CONFIRMED AMAZING SCENES WITH MAURICE BENARD
As a punctuation point to his video, Benard also shared this written message in the post: “I just did some wonderful scenes with Steve Burton, Rick Hearst, Finola Hughes and Nazneen Contractor and and unbelievable writing, freaking amazing scenes that you will see in the near future on General Hospital.” In fact, Finola Hughes jumped in the post comment thread and responded, “I loved our scenes so much xxx”
Fans will most likely see all the scenes Benard referred to later in July, since GH tapes approximately six weeks ahead of air.
So, are you excited to see what Maurice is talking about? Are you hyped for what’s to come on GH? Any clue on what you think will go down between the main characters on the soap with the returns of Anna Devane and Jason Morgan to the mix? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

SINCE LEAVING GENERAL HOSPITAL
Previously, since his departure from the ABC soap opera. Chad starred alongside Zach Mendez in the world premiere of of Yum Yum at Annapolis, a new play written by Bruce Reisman. Duell last appeared on General Hospital on the January 21, 2025 episode.
The part was recast with Rory Gibson who debuted as the new Michael in May of 2025 during the Nurses’ Ball episodes and who has remained in the role since that time.
In an interview earlier this year on The Able Show, Duell said on his decision to exit the soap opera, “I was blessed to be part of that (show) for as long as I have, but what happens sometimes is if you’re doing the same thing, especially in a creative field for such a long time, you can get a little burnt out in a way. It can make you a little depressed, so that’s kind of what happened. On top of that, I had other things going on in my life at the time. My father passed away recently and I just needed a reset. So, I stepped away. A lot of times you have to go through some stuff to really step into that next level. I needed to kind of feel uncomfortable.”
So, what type of musical genre will Chad’s new song be? Country? Pop? Rock? Dance/Club? Something else? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section below, and if you are eager to hear the new single next week via the comment section below.
