On September 13th, General Hospital viewers will finally get to see Steve Burton (Jason) and Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo (Brenda) mix-it up, again!  Last time out, it was the shotgun Vegas wedding between Jason and Brenda that had us all in stitches, and the dynamic of these two butting heads brings a complexity to whatever story is being told.   Now, Jason is coming to her rescue again.  Steve Burton caught up with Sara Bibel of fancast to preview the next beat in the saga!  Here are a few excerpts!

Burton on Brenda’s big secret: “The big secret is the Balkan is after her.  We don’t know why.  I need to bring her back to Port Charles to protect her from this guy because he’s not even trying to kill her but hurt her, disfigure her.  People always ask, ‘Why would Jason go if he doesn’t like Brenda?’ Well, you know the history with Brenda and Sonny and Jason.  Someone’s really trying to hurt this person.  He would go in a heartbeat.  While she’s in Rome, she gets drugged.  So I feel like the best thing for her is to come back to Port Charles where I can keep her safe and bring the guys to my home turf.”

Burton on how Brenda’s return will affect Jason’s relationship with Sam: “It’s going to make my life a nightmare, quite frankly. Jason really doesn’t have much of a life but I don’t want to be in the same room with Brenda and Carly (Laura Wright) in particular.  Once those two get together I’m in big trouble.”

Wait, Jason doesn’t have a life? What about Sam? I would say that she is his life and without her he would be nothing! Don’t take what you have for granted. Sam is the reality, reason and meaning for Jason to even exist, she loves him beyond measure! it’s easy to get so comfortable in a relationship that you start taking the other person for granted, don’t do it Jason, Sam is your core, your reason for being, embrace it and be grateful for the love the two of you share!

GH’s Rebecca Herbst Thanks Fans for the Birthday Love

She is not often on social media, but when she does show up, it delights so many of her enduring fans. General Hospital’s Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), who yesterday celebrated her birthday on May 12th, took to Twitter to share warm ‘thank you’s’ to a few fan factions who sent her some lovely gifts in honor and support of their favorite soap star.

Herbst expressed: “Yesterday was such a beautiful day! THANK YOU for all your sweet Birthday messages! #Friz & #Liason showered me with the most gorgeous flowers, cakes & goodies. And #Friz donated $2500 to #SmileTrain.  I felt very loved. I’m so grateful for each & every one of you. …XO”

Of course, the Friz fans loved Liz with Franco (Roger Howarth) and the Liason fans are those who love Liz with Jason (Steve Burton).

Now with Roger Howarth returning to the show – in what is at this juncture still a mystery as who he will play – will Rebecca be paired with Roger in story again, or not this time?  Do you think Liz might end up romantically with Finn (Michael Easton), or is there still a chance that down the line Liz and Jason could get back together, or could Liz meet someone new? Only time will tell!

For now, Herbst was thankful for the money donated to the Smile Train charity and all the wonderful gifts and messages that came her way.

So, what did you think of Becky’s thank you message?  Who are you hoping Liz winds up with romantically in the future?  Share your thoughts in the comment section.
