GH's Teresa Castillo and Jeffrey Vincent Parise Perform "An Ode To Carlina" To Nick Jonas' CHAINS!

CAR-LOOSSSS we will miss you! Those are the yelps from On-Air On-Soaps and many General Hospital fans who watched the very talented Jeffrey Vincent Parise bid farewell to mobster Carlos Rivera, when the character was shot (several times!) by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) on episodes of GH Live!

Now to commemorate their time working together, Teresa Castillo who played the love of Carlos’ life, Sabrina Santiago, posted two videos as a send-off to her great scene partner!

First, Castillo and Parise perform the hit tune by Nick Jonas, “Chains”!  Teresa sings the lead and Parise raps and chimes in while handling the  percussion! Then, in a hysterical little video ditty, Teresa posted a rehearsal moment from GH Live where Anna shoots Carlos, only this time with different results!

I really liked what Teresa did with Jeffrey. For those who didn’t see the Madman Sunday night Jeffrey was part of the finale. His character is a complete change from Carlos. I’m hoping with a little help from ABC’s Magic Kingdom, GH can once again borrow the fairy dust that brings him back to Port Charles, a better, but not completely wiser man.

I don’t know Rose…that’d have to be some pretty strong magic…he was dead as dead can be… I liked him…was waiting for him to shave that beard! Loved the hair, though….

Just ever hopeful. I know what you mean about the beard. I’m not a beard person myself. I’m finding it very distractive even with baseball (my favorite sport) players now sporting them like left over ZZ Topps or guys from Duck Dynasty. And then when you hear might be living/lurking in them…wouldn’t want their snuggles and kisses.

Still can’t believe he is gone 🙁 suck’s!

What a talent Jeffrey Vincent Parise is. He is a fine actor. I wish we could have seen him in final scenes with Maura West. I did like Carlos but the show didn’t evolve the character. It’s a shame that he wasn’t on-contract, but I sure enjoyed Jeffrey’s fine acting. One of the best on soaps right now. Good luck to him and his career. He’ll be missed.

Liked it! She sounded great and he was jammin’! They actually have good chemistry; it would have been interesting to see more of their story. Their history and his love for her should have been expanded…

Cute video!

I just googled Jeffrey and didn’t realize how accomplished and good looking he is! Great pics of

him clean shaven or with a five o’clock shadow…really handsome. He’s an artist, as well.

I think they should take all the fired soapsters and just start a new soap!

Timmm
Timmm

They should. Its a special talent with a loyal following. I realize the Soap Opera Network crashed and if its not making money OR no one wants to put money into the channel its gone and it is gone but I dont know why they didnt keep it, run ALL the soaps on it AND saving OLTL and AMC and charge a small monthly subscription fee to offset the costs?

Rebecca1
Rebecca1

I agree, Timmm. From the few prime time as well as actors in film who had their start in soaps that I’ve heard quoted…they all seem to say acting on a soap is quite the feat. I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of script they need to memorize, the blocking and the pace they need to sustain.

As for our defunct soaps, there seems like there were several avenues they could have explored. Subscription as you suggest, or why not reduce the shows to either a half hour…or even a full hour once a week like a prime time show…

They crunch the numbers. Perhaps they did them and it still wouldn’t have been lucrative enough. Then there’s always the possibility they didn’t explore any options at all…

Another character with much potential (and great screen appeal!) wasted.

I think that Jeffrey was wonderful as Carlos on GH, and I’m going to miss his scenes terribly. I was always kind of hoping that Carlos would turn out to be a Federal Agent and then get a position with the PCPD. Maybe that way his life would’ve lasted longer and he could be with Sabrina. I will miss you Jeffrey!!!

Jeffrey was wonderful. No one’s ever dead on GH, I hope we’ll see him again! Loved the “Chains” video!

GH Nurses’ Ball 2019 Part Four: Joss Sings For Oscar, Valentin Takes The Stage, Kevin In Dire ‘Straits’, Ava Waits For Ryan

The conclusion of the GH Nurses’ Ball 2019 episodes brought with it emotional moments and performances from the stage, and major drama with yet to come ramifications for several people of Port Charles.

After Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) knocked out Kevin and switched places with him, yet again, the serial killer is on the loose at the ball. Later, when Scott (Kin Shriner) is backstage and is upset about Ava’s (Maura West) relationship with Kevin, Scott comes face-to-face with “Kevin” and having enough, tries to grab Scott’s hand to stop him from leaving. But, lo and behold, off comes his prosthetic hand.  Next, Ryan clubs Scott over the head, who now is the only person that saw Ryan at the ball.

Elsewhere, Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) confronts Willow (Katelyn MacMullan), after overhearing her conversation with Diane that she has a child, and he asks here if she was pregnant when she left “Dawn of Day”.  She claims she miscarried their child, but he refuses to believe a word out of her mouth and becomes irate.

Courtesy/ABC

Michael (Chad Duell) saves Willow and warns Shiloh to stay away from her and his family. An out-of-sorts Shiloh heads back to his table where Sam (Kelly Monaco), Lucas (Ryan Carnes) and Brad (Parry Shen) are.  Shiloh informs Sam that he just found out someone had his baby and deceived him.  Lucas and Brad are both alarmed.

The first musical performance of the episode was Ned (Wally Kurth) and Olivia’s (Lisa LoCicero) rendition of Seals & Crofts classic, “Get Closer”.  Wally Kurth and Lisa LoCicero remain one of the endearing duos on the show.

Meanwhile, the question. and of course. the big musical finale hinged on Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), and if she would perform the song she wrote with Oscar (Garren Stitt) at his request and in his honor.  In the best scene of all the ball episodes this year, Sonny (Maurice Benard) finds a conflicted Joss outside the ballroom.  She says she thought she was stronger and could do this, but she isn’t.  An emotional Sonny shares with her how Oscar will always be with her, and be OK with whatever choice she makes. Sonny relates it back to Stone and his relationship with him while the young man was living and while he has been deceased.  Maurice Benard and Eden McCoy delivered in this tender scene.

In the next musical number, Valentin Cassasdine (James Patrick Stuart) attempts to calm down a drunken Nina (Michelle Stafford), who is all out of sorts due to her hatred of Willow.(and perhaps her lust for Jax?), by taking to the stage to perform his number.  This time, Stuart plays the piano and sings “Nothing without You” by Vienna Tang.  And once again, Valentin wowed the audience, and James sang beautifully, as he has each year at the ball.

Still undecided if she can perform, Josslyn worries she’s letting everyone down. Jax (Ingo Rademacher) comes to see her and reassures her, saying she doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone, she just needs to follow her heart.

Finally, Josslyn makes the decision to perform, and that she does in the emotional high point of the episode.  As she performs this song about the list of things she and Oscar were planning to do together before the young man died, and how she will carry it with her, she sees Oscar in the back of the ballroom in his tux singing with her and rooting her on.  Kudos to Eden McCoy for being the heartbeat of this year’s ball, along with Lynn Herring, who the ‘ball’ would not be the ball without Lucy Coe,

Courtesy/ABC

As the Nurses’ Ball winds down, Shiloh is becoming unglued, and as Sam tries to calm him down, he tells her she needs to finish her initiation tonight.  He says he needs her to be in the ‘trust’ and he needs her strength.  Oh-oh!  Will Sam go through with this to trap the guy, or are we going to witness a major backfire?

A massive light bulb has gone off in Lucas’ head and he tells Brad he believes Willow and Shiloh are Wylie’s birth parents. Brad doesn’t know what to say, and we all know why!

As Lucy is instructing the clean up crew to take everything down on the stage, the curtains open and Kevin is suspended in midair hoisted up, knocked out, and trapped in a straight-jacket!  Everyone is horrified.  Cut to Ava who is at her safe house preparing to kill Ryan all by herself.  She gets everything in place, while she sips on some booze and waits for Ryan to arrive, and sure enough, we come to the cliffhanger.   Ryan sees Ava from outside the widow.  What will happen next?

So, what did you think of the final installment of this year’s Nurses Ball? What did you think of the performances from Joss, Valentin, and Ned and Olivia? Will Ava kill Ryan, or will someone else do it? Share your thoughts via the comment section below. But first, check out Josslyn’s AKA Eden McCoy’s performance below.

General Hospital’s New Opening Title Sequence

Last Friday on the May 17th episode of ABC’s General Hospital, viewers took note of a new version of the opening title sequence of the daytime drama series.

Some thought perhaps it was tied to the GH Nurses’ Ball episodes since that is when it debuted, but in fact, it turns out it is the new updated title sequence moving forward.

With slower images of the cast, new theme music, and the end graphic plate bringing back the hospital image; thus far fans have seemed to like the new and improved version from what was previously airing.
