Grayson McCouch Joins The Cast Of General Hospital As The New Agent Sloane!

With Robb Derringer out in the role of Agent Kyle Sloane on General Hospital, it looks like there was indeed longer terms plans for the character with this news today via Soap Opera Digest, that none other than former As the World Turns star Grayson McCouch (Ex-Dusty) is the recast for the role!
McCouch will begin airing on General Hospital in episodes beginning in early February! With Derringer out and McCouch in, it would seem that the plans are for “Commish” Devane (Finola Hughes) to perhaps have a new love interest with the agent that came to town to investigate his former WSB mentor, and what she did with arch-criminal Cesar Faison (Anders Hove)!
Soap fans are also familiar with Grayson’s work from Hollywood Heights and Another World.

2024 Golden Globes: Justin Hartley and Amanda Seyfried Among First Round of Presenters
The 2024 awards season truly gets underway this Sunday night ,January 7th on CBS with the presentation of the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards honoring the best in motion picture and television as deemed by the voters of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).
The ceremony will be broadcast live and will air beginning at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST, from the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The ceremony will also be available on the CBS app and will stream on Paramount+. (Note, however, only Paramount+ subscribers who have Showtime can stream the event live; others can watch the show the next day.)
The first round of presenters was revealed on Wednesday and two soap opera alums are on the list including Justin Hartley (ex-This Is Us, The Young and the Restless, Revenge, Passions) and Amanda Seyfried (ex-Lucy, As the World Turns and ex-Joni Stafford, All My Children).

Joining Justin and Amanda as presenters are: Angela Bassett, Will Ferrell, Michelle Yeoh,George Lopez, Julia Garner, Justin Hartley, Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams. Previously, Jo Koy was named host for the telecast.
The Golden Globes are back on CBS for the first time since 1982. In addition, Dick Clark Productions is back after years away as the longtime Globes producers.

Richard Roundtree, ‘Generations’, ‘ATWT” and ‘Shaft’ Star, Dead at 81
Motion picture and television leading man, Richard Roundtree, has passed away at the age of 81. The actor, best known for his role in the iconic film Shaft, and its sequels, died from complications from pancreatic cancer on October 24th in his home in Los Angeles.
In a statement, Roundtree’s manager, Patrick McMinn shared, “Richard’s work and career served as a turning point for African American leading men in film. The impact he had on the industry cannot be overstated.”
During his extensive credits and career, Roundtree made two stops to two daytime soap operas. In 1990 till 1991, Roundtree played Dr. Daniel Ruebens on the defunct NBC soap opera Generations. He later appeared on As the World Turns from 2002-2003, taking on the role of Oliver Travers, the father to T. Marshall Travers played by Lamman Rucker.

Roundtree’s leading lady on Generations, Jonelle Allen took to her Facebook upon learning the news of the death of her former castmate and friend, expressing: “My Leading Man on Generations. I Am Very Sad. My Condolences To Your Family. Dearest Richard Roundtree.”
In a subsequent post, Allen shared a photo of their Generations’ characters, Daniel and Doreen about to lip-lock. Jonelle stated, “In the scene with him I kept thinking: ‘Shaft is about to kiss ME!!!’ Thank You.”
On Generations, Roundtree’s character of Daniel Reubens was a brilliant doctor, who was accused of killing someone by causing an explosion at a lab in 1974. He and his daughter, Maya, then went “underground” for the next 15 years. Maya was played by Viveca A. Fox.

Fox, honored her former on-screen soap father with an Instagram post upon learning of his death. Vivica wrote: “GM Dawlings! My heart is sad this morning as late last night I learned that LEGEND Actor @officialrichardroundtree had passed. I had the blessing of working with Richard on alot of 1st in my acting career! He played my Dad on the soap opera #Generation‘s TV show #90210BeverlyHills Mr Roundtree thank u for your AMAZING GIFTS! U will truly be missed as u were the 1st African American Action Star #SHAFT I’ll never forget the time u stood for ME when a director was being a jerk to me! Richard was also known for his roles in Roots and the Brad Pitt thriller Se7en. On television, Roundtree appeared on: Murder, She Wrote, A Different World, Beauty and the Beast, 21 Jump Street, MacGyver, Beverly Hill 90210, L.A. Law, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Alias, Desperate Housewives, Heroes, Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Fire, and Private Practice and many more.

Soap Alum John Wesley Shipp Shares Health Update
John Wesley Shipp, best known to daytime fans for his roles on As the World Turns, Guiding Light, One Life to Live et al, and primetime fans for his role in The Flash, shared a heartfelt health update via his Instagram.
While Shipp did not go into specifics, he did say he underwent surgery earlier in September for an urgent medical issue.
In his post, accompanying by his photo, John expressed: “Hello out there! Friends and contacts have written recently, like, “where are you? are you ok?” Well, here’s the deal: I had surgery early this month for a health issue that had to be dealt with immediately. All went well, but I’ve had to postpone a theatre production and personal appearances as the recoup will take some weeks. I do read and appreciate what you share with me, that you entrust me with your thoughts and feelings. You are ever on my mind and in my heart, and I look forward to getting active and out there again as soon as possible. Until then, remember to play nice, be kind, and stay engaged! Our futures depend on it.”

John’s soap resume is quite impressive having portrayed: Dr. Kelly Nelson/Victor Laszlo on Guiding Light, Doug Cummings on As the World Turns, Martin Ellis on Santa Barbara, Carter Jones on All My Children and Eddie Ford on One Life to Live. Shipp won two Daytime Emmys along the way.
More recently, John has appeared in primetime’s, Arrow, The Flash, Stargirl and countless other TV appearances.

Displeased!! There’s no need to recast the role 🙁 Why not recast either or both Jordan/Nathan? Neither actress/actor can act (but they are pretty to look at). GH hires a talented actor and then fires him instead of keeping him? Makes as much sense as putting Scorpio in a coma for a year! AND then acting all surprised when he lands on YR (where they smartly gave him a contract!).
I’m right there with you on Nathan. A year later and the guy has just not improved. There is a rumor and some speculation that agent Sloane could now be Nathan’s father because the actor resembles him. I hope not. Nathan has too much story and too many connections as is, as well as Dr.O. Plus, Sloane’s interaction with Dr.O showed no hint of a relationship, but that wouldn’t necessarily stop these writers as the show is full of inconsistencies and rewrites.
I’ve never seen this actor, but he is talented by all accounts I’ve read, and that’s a plus if we have to have new characters. I would still prefer to see John J. York and Jon Lindstrom back on the show, but GH history, veteran characters and in house great actors such as those two are just not a priority.

I think Ryan has improved. I just have no idea what people are expecting out of him or his character. I know people who act just like him, so I don’t see what folks are talking about.
I so agree with majority who say here and gh facebook page,that well yes nate is an extreme-good lookin’ hot guy however,sad to say as others his acting well it just is horrible,so sad. I m liking him on GH i really do.HOWEVER i m thinking the writers,have to know he can’t act.I also think a “good actor”the lines just come across as REALISTIC “per happy to emotional scene.”he is not able to do that sadly.I m thinking ron carlivati is keepin’ his hot azz on because he look great ! lol but i hope he improve,since i hear he is on contract.
We all know why Ryan Pavey/Nathan is on the show let’s get it out there he is eye candy for the head writer and the producer and that is their business but let’s not make pretend this man can act. Please!!!!

GH seems to think they can do almost anything and we as fans will just sit by. I hardly think that Grayson looks like someone that Anna could of mentored. However, Robb Derringer is actually older than Grayson. I believe he played the part really good. However, there isn’t much we can do now. All the twitting in the world will do nothing but maybe open doors for other contract work.
I don’t see this role staying on forever anymore. It was more believable before.

I joined that group as soon as I saw it 🙂 You’re right, it’s fun. Keep hoping we’ll hear that Robb has landed a new acting gig (heck, some of his fans have mentioned Days, if Robb landed on Days I’d finally start watching! heh and I haven’t tuned into Days since Wayne Northrup originally left the role of Roman Brady!). I can see Robb doing many roles on many shows. He is a very talented man. Still can’t believe he has been let go over Nathan/Jordan (neither of whom can act but are likely very nice people so I feel bad even mentioning them but I’m just so MAD about Agent Sloane being recast siiiigh). Oh well, since when did GH ever care what fans think??

I agree, was surprised the character kept popping up, thought he was a throw-away. With McCouch in the role it will definitely take it up a notch. Loved him in ATWT and Hollywood Heights.
I am not familiar with either actor, so, I hope McCouch will bring more appeal to the Sloane character. Derringer’s portrayal, I find, is too haughty, for lack of a better word…..full of himself….almost like a wound-up Ken doll being manipulated by a higher source. Easy on the eye, yes, but the way he treats Anna breaks my heart. She should not have to justify her every move. She has held her position as commissioner with integrity and honor, has she not? Something’s rotten in the state of Denmark; ahem, NY……but, we already know that….is there a chance this already ‘disheveled ‘ police force houses a rat?
The Sloane character’s comportment toward a fellow-law-enforcer is abrasive…..he abases her position. He is abusing his authority. This self-serving personality makes me cringe and grit my teeth to the point where I want to smack him a few rounds to tomorrow, then to the moon
and back. I will bite my tongue if this is what the role asks of him. If that’s the case, then he’s doing a great job portraying the hard-assed agent.
I am hoping I have some connection with this new guy….depending upon his treatment of Anna, whom I adore…..(from my AMC days).

They knew who he was going in. I thought the actor was good and there was chemistry with Anna.
I think they recast the role because they suddenly decided Robb was too young for the part which suggests the writing is transpiring after casting which is never a good way to go about about developing a new character.

NOW we know why RDerringer was confused, as the Save Sloane Campaign worked, but just for the character, not the actor! Ouch! Wasn’t it started to keep RD’s Sloane?
I think Robb Derringer was very, very good. They just threw him in there in the middle of sweeps and gave him all that crazy dialogue about Faison, prisons, holes in the floor w/rugs over them, and he knocked it out of the park and kept a straight face. Great-looking guy with a good presence & good chemistry w/Finola Hughes. He has a great IMDB page-lot’s of nice work on there. He will land on his feet, bigger and better.
Grayson is a good actor as well. He should spark w/Anna as well. He also is a soap vet, so maybe that’s part of it, too. I do often wonder where GH keeps pulling up the funds for so many of these name actors. Not complaining-it’s awesome. GH has 60+ on their roster & just keep signing. LOL.
Robb was fantastic and had a wonderful screen presence that you describe, and he embodied the right about masculinity and simplicity in the role. He’s a fine actor. I’m so shocked that has been replaced.

Agreed, Jeremy. It seems to me that “Cartini” have a distinct “type” that they just loooove to cast, and ultimately, Derringer wasn’t it. More’s the pity….I liked his particular look and style far more than this recast’s, who apparently better reflects the cookie-cutter males du jour that the show runners appear to favor.
I, too, thought Robb was doing a good job! He was thrown into a crazy story, and even though he isn’t a soap vet, he interacted very well with everyone he shared scenes with, especially Finola Hughes.
This reminds me of the Kelly Andrews recast on Y&R. Cynthia Watros originated the role, and in my opinion did well (even if the character was poorly conceived) but then they recast with Cady McClain. I know they didn’t have another choice, because Cynthia began airing on another show, but it would have been nice to have both Cynthia and Cady on the canvas; keep Cynthia as Kelly and create a new role for Cady. Just like it would have been nice to keep Robb as Sloane and hire Grayson in a new (or returning) role.
I want Anna to fall in love with Kyle…then its revealed Kyle is Faisons half brother…imagine the drama that would create and Faisons reaction that Anna and his brother are lovers…id love it!!!

But then why wouldnt Dr.O have known Kyle and been nervous seeing him again…then he cant be Nates daddykins but maybe he could still be Faisons unknown half brother…

I feel badly for Robb though…he did really well in the short period of time he was on GH and given the ridiculous storyline he had, I thought he also knocked it out of the park as well. I found myself rooting for more scenes between Sloane and Anna and I hardly know anything about this character. That’s a testament to his acting abilities!

Actually, Timm, I looked up their ages. Robb is actually older! He’s 47; Grayson’s 46.
GH writing staff plans plots 2-3 months in advance, even if the episodes are filmed 3 weeks before airing. The recasting & hiring decision was probably made a while ago, long before any “Save Sloane” campaign was launched, to fit upcoming plotlines. IMO, Derringer was too young to make some of the future plans for “Sloane” work. So, just like soap babies, Sloane has been aged & recast. As for GH’s budget, well, McCouch is not really a “name” actor.
I just like the fact that GH, and tv in general, seems to be valuing actors over the age of 40, & writing for them! There was a time in the 2000’s when all that was programmed were stories & series about teenagers & college-age kids. Oh, thank God, that’s done!

I had a feeling there was more to it than Sloane just being a short stint after Robb Derringer said he didn’t know what he had done wrong…that he’d given it his best. They must have told him at the start he’d be on the canvas for a while…and then pulled the rug out from under him. Feel bad for him…sigh. Alas and alak

@Harry….All well and good in the sense that I wish Mr. Derringer the best of luck in landing another role that will better suit his particular looks and talent, however, I am so tired of other soaps —which I do not watch— snagging the types of actors that I find desirable…the latest example being Justin Hartley!!!!

I don’t know the exact reason for the actor exchange, but GM looks like he can play sinister very well. Maybe he can be one of those long lost Cassadines the fans have been longing for.
Looks alot like a younger (better acting) nathan….probably will be his unknown about son.
I hope not! Nathan already has so many ties to the show, and he’s a terrible actor. I don’t know where they got Ryan Paevey, but they need to recast THAT role ASAP. Also, Dr. O said the truth about Nathan’s father is “far worse” than Victor Cassadine, and I don’t see how “Kyle Sloane” is worse in any way, unless he turns out to be related to Faison, or a secretly evil double-agent working for Faison or Helena or someone else. But again, GH has too many villains, so I hope they don’t go down that route with yet another new character.
I’m thrilled! Loved him as Dusty on ATWT! He’ll fit in perfectly on GH. He’s a great actor and easy on the eyes. Lucky Anna, gets to choose between him and Duke! Can I be recast as Anna?

My guess is that they decided to beef up the role of agent Sloane with some high power chemistry, experience and soap acting chops. I didn’t dislike Mr Derringer but he never really felt quite comfortable in the role. Not like someone who was going to be carry a front burner story. Anna warrants front burner and Grayson should fit the bill quite nicely.
I’m confused by the recast. Don’t get me wrong, I love Grayson McCouch, and I think he’ll do well, but I thought Robb Derringer was doing well in the role, and he had great chemistry with Finola. It doesn’t make sense for a change midstream, especially when a change isn’t necessary. Robb was very good in his scenes with Finola and Kathleen Gati, both of whom are fantastic actresses. I think Grayson will do just as well, if not better, and I support his addition, but I never understand why shows recast roles that don’t need to be recast, while ignoring the ones that need it most. If GH wants to hire a recast, it should start with finding someone for the most glaringly obvious role in need of a recast: Nathan.
My question is, did the plans for the character of Sloane change once they realized they wanted to keep around, and that’s why they recast the role? Or was the plan always to have him stick around? Because, if so, why didn’t they just hire Grayson right off the bat if that’s who they wanted for the role? Also, will they connect Sloane to another on canvas, and give him a family now that he’s staying put? It would make sense to tie him to the show with family. Hopefully the writers have a solid, long-term plan for him, because Grayson is a true talent and it would be a shame to lose him any time soon.

there’s one thing people won’t be able to complain about when it comes to McCouch: he is a marvellous, classically trained actor with a real understanding of his craft. none of that “looking lost/where am i?/where am i going?” kind of acting from unlike some others on the canvas (that i won’t mention publicly – it’s not nice, is it?

Disappointed in the recast. Rob is a far better pairing than Grayson. He has a more sophisticated quality for Anna. I doubt the recast (once aired) will work, and the role will need to be written out.
I sincerely hope it doesn’t work for GH and their wonderful people who don’t know what they are doing. Maybe they will learn from it and realize that once you cast someone, unless they really aren’t what you expected that you can’t continue to treat people poorly.
GH is trying to get more viewers so they will never worry about cancellation. I know people who never watched GH who now are because of Billy Miller, but they hate GH and can’t deal. I personally like Billy.
I love it when they hire soap stars from cancelled soaps. I wish him well and like the character of Kyle Sloan. [Could have picked a better name.] Robb was a good actor but just not good as an agent and I didnt see any immediate chemistry with Anna. This new guy seems a little older or looks older and more Tristan Rogers like! Glad to see Anna is going to get a love interest since Tristan, in my opinion, mistakenly resigned to play the dull character of Colin Atkins over at Y&R. Welcome Grayson.
Will be Great to see GM share screen time with Maura West and Roger Howarth ex Carly and Paul ATWT. Amazing chemistry here! Very exciting news. Kudos GH
GH does know how to cast roles, many of their recent hires (Maura West, William DeVry, Michelle Stafford, Roger Howarth, Donna Mills, Billy Miller) are phenomenal additions to an already very talented cast. Grayson McCouch is another great talent to add to that list. But for this role? I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem like a role that was meant to last very long. Also, they could have chosen a better name than Kyle Sloane. I hope it works and the recast actually serves a purpose, because I thought Robb was doing just fine in the role. I hope he sticks around, because GM is great!
Okay RD wasn’t being paranoid when he stated he didn’t understand what he did wrong, because they didn’t get rid of the character just him, ouch. However, I think if they are going for a romance with Anna, then RD was a bit too young and perhaps not as strong as an actor as FH to pull it off. I see how GM would be more a physical, age and acting match with FH to make this a possible power couple in Port Charles.
I just hope with change in actor they might make Sloane less a jerk. He can be rouge or a cad, have some personal vendetta against Anna, but don’t make him stupid. I mean right now he seems to falling for any BS those above him feed him. Let’s make him a bit smarter than that, and have him and Anna join forces to free Port Charles of the mob once and for all.
Robb is actually one year older than his replacement Grayson…RD born in 67 and GM in 68…at first i thought the same thing…RD looks younger but he’s older…i googled him to learn more about him and thats how i found it out!!!
So I guess this is one of the rare times when looking younger than your years works against someone. Soaps are very visual so I guess what your age is on paper means little if your look is wrong for the role. But agree with those who have suggested that he would make a good Peter Blake Dimera on Days.
And Snoop Dogg is 42, but looks 52. Genes and all the things we do to mess up our God-given looks really makes a difference.

This soap is crazy. The amount of people they have on this show is ridiculous. They never wrap up story lines and are just throwing us shirtless hunks who can’t act. Most of the time you need to assume things or conversations happen offscreen. They use the same characters over and over again…..Nina, Franco, Silas, Kiki just to name a few. Concerning this Sloane guy, we never got to see an onscreen reunion between Anna and Duke and now we are supposed to believe Anna is ga ga over this new guy. Anna and Duke were never given a chance with the new generation of soap viewers, because they were never on together. Well, I think Sloane is a bad guy planted here by Fluke, Helena..etc. I really think Anna will lose her job and Sloane will take over as Police Commish and cause some damage. Anyway, just the opinion of a longtime viewer whose about to delete this show from my dvr.

The soap is a little crazy and the cast is huge and hard to follow sometimes. the younger crowd thinks this is great, because they have nothing to compare it to. We are all guilty of that at some time in our life though. The reason it is so big with younger people is the time it is on tv. A lot of kids are done with school/classes by that time and are looking for something to watch. I guess I don’t consider myself that old at 32 to agree with shelley’s remarks.
Welcome to Dusty. Loved him on ATWTs and maybe I will even comeback and watch his scenes with Anna. She is the only characters left that I like. That was before her lobotomy from Re-Ron.
I agree with your assessment Mary. But I have to ask then, why do they keep Ryan Peavey around? He is in scenes with mega talented actors and ruins every scene with his wooden emotions!
Being in a scene with seasoned vets is different than having to pull off a romance with them—I find the best romances on soaps involve actors that are equal talent and range. Nathan and Maxine are working because her character is so youthful and dizzy that his pretty boy appeal is all that is needed. They are cute, but they are hardly a couple I will be investing my emotions into.
As for why they keep him, I suppose they see potential. I remember Drake H on Days being a bit wooden to start but over time he became one of the shows leading stars although many still feel his acting skills are weak. Ryan isn’t the best actor but I have seen worst, so for who the character is at the moment and what they use him for I can bear with him
@ Mary SF, I too am not invested in the Maxie and Nathan pairing, for the same reasons you mentioned. The show excels with a fine cast of extremely talented actors and then there’s Ryan Peavey, he’s had his year, and I’m not feeling the chemistry between him and Maxie. On today’s episode, when Johnny saw (the new) Lulu, wow, those actors shinned, I was kind of hoping they would hook-up. (even though I do root for Dante and Lulu.) The point is Brandon Barash is a fine actor, and as Johnny, I was intrigued with the possibility of him hooking up with Lulu.

I do love Nathan…I must admit his looks work for me. His acting is not so bad….I just do not like him with Maxi. She is an airhead. When my emotions are not stirred by someone’s plight, then, she/he is not doing her/his job.
I agree also with both Timmm and Jeremy. Something is lacking between Nathan and Maxi. Again, bored with a bland coupling….even their sex scenes brought nothing to the bed . LOL.
Maxi just doesn’t evoke feelings of passion and least of all, stir the heart with motherly love. She went to visit her baby, who she supposedly misses more than the air she breathes, and all she could think about was getting back to Nathan. I ask you, all mother out there with babies; is that natural?
Jimmy, I wonder if Ryan were paired with someone other than Kirsten, would that affect his delivery? I truly believe her juvenile, and devil-may-care attitude brings him down. His scenes with Britt and Dr. O were perfect tear-jerkers.

You are so right. I am a mother of two young boys and I would NEVER put my libido above my children. Maxie is a terrible mother. Thank goodness the baby has Spinelli and Ellie.
If I were in Maxie’s predicament, losing custody or even visitation to my child as much as she has, I would take my money (and we know she has it) and get an apartment in the same freaking building as my baby’s father!
The writing is so terrible as far as maternal care is concerned on this show.
The other thing about Maxie and Nathan that made me laugh was the shoes he saved to buy for her. Since when has Maxie ever wanted anything from LAST SEASON?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you! Kathleen Gati, Donna Mills, Michelle Stafford and even Kirsten Storms are MUCH more talented, seasoned, versatile and convincing actors than Ryan Paevey! I don’t know where they found him but there are SO many more options out there for actors to fit this role, that could do a WAY better job than RP. It’s been a full year and it hasn’t gotten any better with him. But instead, GH feels the need to recast roles that don’t need it, and ignore the ones that beg for a recast, like Nathan.
Its painful. You cannot FF through his scenes because he is tied to important characters and their storylines.
Does your affiliate run the GH bumpers before the show where they show Laura Wright and Ryan Paevey? Of ALL the actors on that show, they showcase HIM. That tells me it is all about looks and not acting ability. How terrible.
I remember him from AW and ATWT. Liked him on AW but thought he was a poor recast as Dusty. I could never buy into him as that character.
They must have made him a good deal as he lives in NY state on a farm so commuting is no small feat.
Still don’t get all the love for the previous actor to play Agent Sloane. People are acting like this guy was the next Marlon Brando or something. I mean, he did a fine job in the role, but he never came across as anything more than a day player just filling a spot. Grayson McCouch is a talented actor, and another talented actor on GH is never a bad thing.
I just hope he does not get lost in the talent stream which rushes strong in Port Charles. I know the stories fly and GH is undergoing a reinvention of sorts but I would like more focus on a few core characters. Don’t like short stories that then end or cliffhang for weeks until characters are back around again.

Billy? You think so? I don’t know….nuBilly is 42, which is bad enough since TPTB aged him by 7 years. And, believe you me, I would love, love, love to have a Billy recast, but within reason. C’mon, now, Harry is on to something. He would be perfect for Ashley. Sorry, nice concept, but, RD is way too old to be Billy. We must keep this in perspective, albeit TPTB don’t stick to what’s real…LOL, Billy is supposed to be younger than both Nick and Victoria. Billy Miller is 35… The original Billy (David Tom) is 36. RD, in this role, would be a real streeeeeeach!!
Well, he’s better looking and a better actor who appears to have all his hair (youth). If they can force Burgess on us, then we could learn to accept Robb Derringer.
I think he appeared to be too young next to Finola, but might be too old as Billy, but there is something about how he delivers his lines. I would have loved to gotten to see his softer, fun side.
In any event, I agree that he would work on Y&R in some capacity. He would be good for Ashley as a business man or someone from the police department.

@ Domino – that’s just it…there is a definite command and strength to Robb’s voice, it only enhances his delivery of Sloane’s dialogue with fans wanting more and more of Agent Kyle Sloane. Robb is a simplistic and powerful actor…and, I too hope we can “see his softer, fun side” as you mention, before he departs the role. I’m eager to see how versatile he is!…as an actor. 🙂
@jimh….Oh Dear Lord, great minds think alike!!! I was surmising the exact same thing: that “Fluke” is actually a trans-whatchamacallit formerly known as Patricia Spencer! Sounds far-fetched, I know, but this is “Cartini” we’re talking about, and such a gender-bending twist would be right up their alley! (Although I’m still hoping he/she? is really just plain old Bill Eckert…..) However, if that is not to be, then I’m also not discounting the possibility that Luke was a twin that was separated at birth from his brother, or that maybe the same was true for Bill. Or perhaps Patricia had a son due to incest with her drunkard father and Fluke was the product, making him Luke’s brother/nephew all in one? Wait…This is getting just too dark for me…..

Can’t stand the personality of the character. How is another actor going to change that. Or did they decide they want to have the character have a personality transplant? character unneeded. How about using Mac, Bobbie, Monica and other characters more.
Anna needs a new romance..or at least a cat and mouse chase! Sloane looks like he might be the new someone in Anna’s life. She’s already been with Robert , Duke, Luke…there aren’t any men in Port Charles right now to pair her with. This could turn out well (though I’m still disappointed at the lack of anything they gave Anna and Duke since both returned to the show.)
Derringer was boring, glad he’s gone. Grayson McCough is the man for the job. I’d rather watch Jordan watch herself in the mirror than watch Nathan and Maxie in scenes together.
Lol…I think they sparkle together. Fresh, cute…first stages of love. Beautiful to look at…fairytale-esque perhaps but they add a light-hearted look at love. And I might be in the minority on this site but I love Ryan in the role…I’ve said this before but there’s something about him…other than his beauty…that comes across as sincere.

I thought Robb was doing a great job and had tremendous chemistry with Finola. And, if “Anna” was supposed to be “Sloan’s” mentor, it would seem she was a bit older than he. Robb fit the bill in many ways.
I also love Grayson and know he’s a great actor, but I’m unsure about him fitting the profile that was set up for “Sloan”. He certainly isn’t younger than Finola, or at least won’t look like it.
Also, why does GH need to spend more money on more “star” names when they have a winner in the person they already cast? There has to be something more to help me understand it. In the meantime, I’m going to not ponder it and just enjoy my show. I know Grayson is a fabulous actor and I hope he will make “Sloan” work.
I have liked his acting since he was on Another World. I hope they pair him with Anna and they are a dynamic crime fighting team like her and Scorpio used to be. Since the show clearly has no interest in remembering that Scorpio and Anna were each other’s great love, maybe Anna can have another one. This current actor.playing the part gives off a creepy vibe, and came across like he was tryong too hard. You have to be a VERY good actor to spout the inane, often nonsensical, recap style dialogue that this team writes. Grayson has a quiet intensity and makes interewting acting choices. I look forward to his daytime.return.

Regardless of what road Agent Sloane goes down Robb Derringer played that part well and still has scenes coming up. Like others have said they should of just grabbed Grayson from the very beginning. I don’t even know if GH would be popular without Julexis or Paevey. Although Paevey stumbles over his words all the time.

You have no heart? Your heart screams with feeling with every word you write. My own heart takes it all in. I see you, Shay, in my mind’s eye, as a passionate woman who goes headlong into everything she does with heartfelt emotion with shameless abandon….much as myself. It that’s not heart, I don’t know what is. Words are words, anyone can bunch them together…pretty words, ugly words, funny words, insulting words. But, they do not necessarily jump out and grab you. It takes HEART to capture and hold the reader emotionally…..you got IT, baby !!
Britt was the only character who made my heartstrings sing, laugh, cry, and yes, I did despise her at first. She put her heart and soul in her art/craft as no other on GH. Well, correction……Dr. O manages to pull those feelings out of me as well.
Unfortunately, Britt’s personality/persona, in my opinion, was not cultivated to its full potential. What a waste! I do hope she comes back…SOON.

What puzzles me is this brand new alliance of brotherhood between him and Julian, which btw, is my husband’s name….Giuliano, in Italian.
I hope that whatever germ of an idea the writers are conceiving, it will be written with some spice and verve….swerving from the norm…in other words, no same old same old.
Also, I started watching sometime before Johnny Zaccara (yes, this is the correct way of spelling the word….the ‘h’ is not needed as ‘a’ is a hard vowel. I apologize for the Italian grammar lesson.) left. I ‘sorta’ liked him… I really did not ingest much of his dark side. I still like him…too bad…..I see the writing on the wall. He will be a foil for Sonny, so that Sonny may be exalted to good guy….a god. That will be such a cheap and obviously contrived storyline. Poor Julian is only the patsy here. William deVry ( so gorgeous; so sexy; so talented) does not deserve this….I hope I am wrong.
Wow, CeeCee…An honorary triplet! Cool! I have no sisters….or any siblings, for that matter, so that would be an entirely new experience….sounds like fun! I accept….LOL. I watched Johnny Z during his first GH stint, and he was a much more well-rounded character when introduced….a talented, soulful pianist, sports car aficionado and even though a mafia “prince,” a dude who genuinely tried to be a good guy despite his unfortunate family tree (which eventually revealed his half big-sis, Claudia, to in actuality be his birth mother, with Mafioso Gino Soleito—-Tracy’s ex-hubby, yes, another one—–as his real daddy….) Despite being involved in nefarious activities on-and-off during his previous time in Port Charles, it wasn’t until he killed his presumed father, Anthony, that Johnny’s dark side truly emerged and prevailed….now after an incarceration of some years, he appears to have permanently adopted this more sinister mode…sort of a downer for those of us who had high hopes that he would end up as a heroic character who overcame his background. Oh well….one never knows what the future holds in this “Cosa Nostra” carousel….one day your much beloved Sonny is the one that needs to be destroyed, then Julian, now these two have formed an unbelievably bizarre united front as the “Dynamic Duo of Strange Bedfellows” to take down Fluke and Johnny. (By the way, their prison yard punch out had all the campy choreography of the retro Batman TV series….the only things missing were the “Bam” “Pow” caption balloons….hahaha!) Where this puzzling alliance will lead is anyone’s guess, but no doubt Corinthos will have to come out on top, unscathed and smelling like a rose…it’s sort of an unwritten rule on GH!!! Besides, he needs to slip back into his Armani-clad armor and shiny, shoe-polished skullchoice…me thinks the latest “hoodie” look is merely a concerted wardrobe decision to conceal a bad hair day!!!! (Quite apropos….Sonny is like the male equivalent of RHONJ’s Theresa Giudice, who is apparently having a great deal of difficulty adjusting to her new digs in the slammer sans those strictly forbidden trademark “big hair” extensions!) As for your husband’s name, it reminds me of the “Don Matteo” character of “Capitano Tomassi” of the Gubbio outpost of the carabinieri who is called “Giulio.” (Not exactly the same, I know…but by the way, his mama dubs him “GiuGiu,” which drives him crazy…..) He is a darkly handsome man who wears his uniform well, and is a charming, sweet and endearing fellow on a wonderfully warm and entertaining show…I love it!!!!

LOL…(I strongly suspect that some who read my posts may actually be driven to drink by my various assertions, but hey, that’s their problem, not mine!) By the way, you are most welcome for the overview on Johnny Z….yes, he’s a most engaging and complex character, at least as he was written by the previous GH regime….I hope to see more nuances of his psyche emerge in his present day persona, but given the current show runners, I have my doubts. And tis a shame….BB always did a fine job of demonstrating his tortured nature and innate passions….no matter which lady he was romancing at the time. He was a great match with (Old) Lulu, a surprisingly good partner with Olivia and a cagey foil to the DID Connie. (I was…surprise, surprise…not a fan of his dalliance with Carly….) I could picture him with Maxie, for sure—although first you would have to pry her away from “Prince Charming!” Having said that, the real-life dynamic between KS and her hubby would definitely be interesting to see on display. (And speaking of their marriage/family, did you wonder, as I have, if that adorable little girl who portrayed Georgie was possibly “Harper Rose Barash?” The child seemed to take to KS in such an authentic manner……) At any rate, I don’t know that maturity is yet in the cards for Maxie….I’m just relieved to have her back to her fashion-forward best after that self-imposed eco-wear exile into “LeviLand!” (Oh, and by the way, “Domino,” I loved your comment about “last year’s” shoes! Personally I’m giving Miss Jones a pass on them simply because she has to make up for lost time….just consider them an “investment buy.” Those are timeless!……) Lastly, thought of you—and your spouse!—as I viewed “Don Matteo” last evening….”Giulio” was at the forefront of the action!!!…..”Jude”…..I like that, too!!!! ; )

Right? I have two kids myself, and as much as I completely love and adore my husband, he doesn’t stand a chance when it comes to our kids. He knows that, and he wouldn’t want it any other way.
So, perhaps the judge had his reasons for refusing Maxi visitation rights. Mayhap, he saw something that gave him pause. I am sure Kirsten Storm is a fantastic mom. I think TPTB should allow her to inject some of that motherly love into Maxi. LOL.
Right, CeeCee! We are mothers at conception. My boys have given me purpose. They are my proudest achievement and my greatest joy and I could not imagine my life without them.
It just saddens me that they are taking Maxie in this direction. I guess they may rationalize it to be like Felicia was, but shouldn’t they break the cycle? I am so glad they finally did right by Felicia and her child, but now Maxie continues to be a mess.
I think there is a blatant lack of good writing for mothers on these soaps. I’m not sure if you watch Y&R or not, but when they were asking who the viewers wanted as the father of Victoria’s baby, some of us agreed that Victoria was the least maternal woman on the show and did not deserve another baby. I understand some woman feel the need and the longing to be in the work force (I am happy to stay at home with my boys for as long as possible), but they portray these women to have the baby and then back in the workforce a week later. Why have a child, this MIRACLE baby, if all you want to do is ditch it once you give birth to it?

I have been watching Y&R since I was fourteen. Victoria definitely does NOT have what it takes to be a mother….it is no wonder she doesn’t have custody of Reed.
I have a six year old boy and an almost eight-month old baby girl….they both look like angels, with corn-silk hair….so beautiful, my heart aches !!
As of this month, I have cut down my teaching schedule because of them. I only sub. However, there are those who are not as blessed and need to work in order to survive.
Soaps are all about sex, mobsters, power, control, cheating…..but, we watch , waiting for tomorrow to see what happens next. We are all are drawn to the drama….without it, I guess soaps would really be boring. However, some quality time should be dedicated to scenes between mothers and their children….also, fathers and their children. Every single one of these mothers spends more time mooning over some man than for instance, helping her child do homework. We should be graced with seeing ordinary, everyday goings-on spent with children…like it used to be. You know what I mean? These women are so flighty…..always up and about petulantly vying for some man’s attention, creating havoc, or planning another scheme. I have yet to see any of them caress her child, kiss her child….does Liz have more than one child? If so, where are they? The only parent I’ve see interact with his child is Nikolas. I remember it was so different years ago at Y&R….we always saw kids around. Now, we see them at five or six years old and tomorrow they will turn twenty.
I liked the way OLTL would show scenes with grade school kids or of teens in High School with their own storylines….sorry, I get carried away…..later.

Another refugee from a cancelled out soap that has to get established as a new character The GH variety show is cast heavy yet here’s another one…I didn’t watch this guy so I could care less. Just hope he won’t be another air hog from some old show.

He is great. Let his hair grow out to where it was when he first began the role. Romance with Anna would be wonderful.
Great choice in McCouch to play Agent Sloan. A love interest between Anna and Kyle would be great. Additionally, the two of them teaming up together for some international intrigue would be awesome. Some of the best GH was the interaction between Anna and Robert Scorpio. Let’s hope the GH writers get this one right. These two could be hot!
I love the recast!!!! I’m REALLY disappointed that he’s gone now!!! I’ve been waiting for Anna to come back & them to continue where they left off. He’s amazing!!!
