More casting news out of Genoa City this morning from TV Guide Magazine’s Michael Logan, who revealed that none other than Helen Slater is joining The Young and the Restless for a handful of episodes starting on May 2nd, with the caveat that there may be more episodes to come!

Slater will play an OB/GYN named Dr Chiverton.  However the mystery is, which lady on the canvas is actually pregnant?

According to TVG, “The soap is keeping that quiet for now, since there are several possibilities beyond the obvious one, Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), who currently thinks she’s pregnant.”

Slater is familiar to movie fans for her role as Supergirl!  She later played Superman’s mom Lara-El on the CW’s Smallville, and recently appeared for two seasons on ABC Family’s The Lying Game.

So what do you think of the casting of Slater? And the bigger question, which gal is going to end up pregnant on Y&R?  Put your guesses in the comment section below!

Are you kidding me? Who’s pregnant? Do you no longer watch the show? It was already on air that Lauren thinks she is pregnant– and is worry sick over all the possible ramifications a pregnancy at her age might have. It is so obvious this lady is going to be Lauren’s doctor I don’t think there is any mystery here

I think it will be Kelly. Lauren is probably starting her “change” and only
thinks she is pregnant!

I agree, not so much about Kelly, but, Lauren. She’s just right for menopause and it will probably be this summer’s PSA on how to deal with menopause and still be sexy to your man, blah, blah, blah.
As much as cane and lilly have sex, they BOTH ought to be pregnant, but I’m guessing it will be Abby.
Please don’t let it be Sharon, I would seriously be ill.
Of course, it could be Chelsea, Adam hasn’t been “dead” that long and she’s had so much to deal with, she might not even notice if she doesn’t have a cycle.
Do they just not sell birth control in GC?

You must not have been watching very long or you would know that Lily can not have kids!

That’s mentioned in article, but there are others who could be pregnant.

You’re right, my internet connection has been bad all day and I didn’t read the whole article because I didn’t know how much time I had before I lost it again. So they did mentioned Lauren, my apologies but based on the title it seem like a obvious answered. My bad. I still feel this character will be connected to Lauren, but anything is possible and it could be another character but I doubt it. And I think because she is only going be on a short time it will turn out Lauren is going through the change rather than pregnant just like others have said.

Um, Mary – Lauren is NOT going to be pregnant – I’m going to guess that it will be revealed that she is beginning menopause and not with child.

Now who’s been sleeping around on the show – think….could it be Victoria, who could be carrying Ben/Stitch’s love child after their one-night encounter? Could it be Sharon? Could it be Abby carrying fiance Tyler’s seed? Could it be Avery??

There are many possibilities here – your snide comment re Michael watching the show was not necessary.

My apologies to Michael– I wasn’t trying to be snide. My internet connection has been bad today and I only read the title and based on that, I thought it was a silly question– when the answer was so obvious Lauren. But I do agree she will learn she is going through the change rather than be pregnant. I seriously doubt there is anyone other character who will turn up pregnant, but it is possible— again I wasn’t trying to be rude, just typed really fast before I lost my connection– if I had time I would have most likely deleted that part out. Thanks for calling me on it and giving me a opportunity to address it. Peace.

Probably Victoria I do not think they will go there with Kelly since a new actress is taking over the part and I think she is intended for Jack. I really do not think AH has chemistry at all with DT or SC. Do we really need another baby drama?

Just a little known fact the actress Adrienne Barbeau had twin boys at age 51 and they were healthy. One of my best friends mother had her last child at age 47 so it would really be a great story and you have CB&TB to play it out who are both veterans on the show and you would care about their story.

@Mary SF Just did some research and when JFP was EP at Another World and Jean Passante was HW they wrote a storyline where Rachel Cory gave birth to twins late in life. I am more convinced then ever this is going to be Lauren’s storyline they all tend to repeat storylines they have done before!

Well I was wrong— I guess sometimes this show can still throw me a curve– it now looks like it is going to be Victoria– who is going to be pregnant– unless her throwing up her lunch was just another red herring–

Since JFP threw away the stronger actors for her buddies I no longer watch. After reading your critiques and the storyline synopsis I am glad not to watch. Is it the annual Victoria might be pregnant pause UGH. Sorry guys this producer killed this program for me with the disregard for better actors than her so called buds

I think it’s great casting by Y&R.As for who the character is that is pregnant right now Lauren thinks she is but maybe she isn’t and something else is wrong with her. However there are other characters that could be pregnant including Victoria,Sharon or Avery.

Will the actress who plays Lauren be returning to DAYS for the 50th? I know she played Donna Craig (daughter of Don Craig and stepdaughter of Marlena ) but was not watching at that time. It would be nice to see her in that role!

I remember when Tracy Bergman was Donna…causing Don some problems, involved with Neils nephew Pete…i was hoping her and a guy named Terry wouldve been paired…they had great chemistry…imo…and wouldve made a nice supercouple!!! Tracy had black hair back then and kind of reminded me of Marie Osmand in those days(pun) at least to me i thought there was a resembalance back then…lol

@K/kay I think Lauren is a little older than AB or your friend, Scotty has got to be pushing 40 by now, and she was no spring chicken when she had him, which would make her closer to 60 IF she had, had Scotty when she was 20, which she didn’t.
Fen is 20 or 21.
It’s not a good idea to have babies that late, I have a friend who is 36 and just had a baby, she was a wreck the whole time worrying, and her doctor ran every test in the world to make sure all was well.
Nope, I feel sure it’s menopause for lauren, Mikey will probably do the happy dance when she’s not looking. lol

@ Sammie Jo the actress who is playing Lauren is 50 looks younger Fenmore should only be about 8 and I believe Scott was born in 1991. You are right it is a soap opera but do we really need another baby for anyone on this soap?

True, Fen should only be about 8, but they sorasing everyone, and then they look ridiculous when they come up with a story like this.
I know TB is only 50, but if you the crazy math, Lauren is pushing 60.
She was well into her late 20’s when she had Scotty. I just hope it’s menopause, you’re right, we don’t need another baby on the show. Of course, the way they age people, the kid would be in high school by Christmas. lol

I welcome her in the recurring capacity. As long as it doesn’t take too much time away from those already on the canvas. An occasional appearance is what’s best. As for who is pregnant, I have some ideas beyond Lauren (I wouldn’t want her pregnant), but I won’t mention whom until we see more on screen.

I don’t think Lauren is going to be pregnant. I’m guessing Lauren’s story will be about menopause. The character that’s going to be pregnant, Victoria. Stitch is the baby daddy.

Considering that Lauren was already stated as being pregnant, it’s a given it’s her, right? Unless someone else over 50 suddenly comes up as being preggers, that is (OMG, Jill!!).

I’m sure that, from the way the storyline is going, the child will have Downs Syndrome and Lauren and Michael will have to decide whether or not to have the child come to term or not. What gets me is the late-pregnancies that so many soaps are trying to do. Brooke on B&B, Lauren on Y&R … IF this pregnancy comes to term, it would be nice to see if they write in the real medical problems and trials and tribulations (not to mention the joys) of having “an imperfect child” as Michael stated on Y&R.

BTW, hopefully Helen Slater has improved in her acting abilities since her early days of (ugh!) Supergirl and The Secret of My Succe$s. Even though City Slickers and Ruthless People were fun, she wasn’t that good in any of them. Well, Y&R isn’t really known for getting great actors lately (barring Sean Carrigan … at least he holds my attention when he’s onscreen!)…
wolfy

I agree it would have been a good storyline. Lauren goes to see a Doctor next week so we will find out then. I was thinking that HS could be a specialist in late term pregnancy.

Leslie…

Lauren is the obvious. Could it be Kelly? Or, could it be Victoria, the wife who wanted to get even with her husband?

Lauren Fenmore being pregnant is ridicoulos, We need sheila carter back right now to cause trouble for Lauren and Michael.

Love Helen.

Just as long as it’s not Avery or Hilary. The less time I see either of them on air, the better. Although, it does make my vieweing time shorter.

I have wondered if they’ll make Victoria pregnant since she’s now slept with two men. She is supposedly infertile or something though.

I know Lauren thinks she’s pregnant and I wouldn’t mind that, but I was wondering if she might be going through menopause or something and not really pregnant.

LOL ..
who would actually care who is pregnant..
The baby will either miscarry, be stillborn, kidnapped, switched..
Or! worse of all!
Another young person enters Y&R to futher upset EB!! (too many young people for his likes)

LOL. you sound miserable.

Well, misery loves company. I think Helen Slater could be a great addition to the cast.
Who’s pregnant? I hope not Lauren–really, that would not be fun. Who I wish was pregnant and who probably isn’t? Chloe.

JOHNNY- LOL no way.. I’m really getting a kick out of Y&R, it is sooo bad that it gives me laughs while I scratch my head in awe !.. 🙂

In my world- Sharon and Nick are ridiculous when it come to anything sexy lol ..
The shampoo thing had ”us” laughing, ohh my gawd that was awful..
so see, I have fun watching ..:)

I sincerely hope Kelly is not pregnant. We know nothing about this character, and worse, we dont care. I really hope Billy and Victoria are with child. They have had so many baby related tragedies, they deserve a healthy child.

Johnny, no!!
I can hardly tolerate the new Billy..
If Victoria is PG then she will stay with Billy- her and new Billy are terrible together, they are no longer good/right together..
I hope they both move on and go far away from each other, Billy could go to Siberia for work …… lol

Let Jill be PG that would put one up on Lauren..
Granny pregnancies would be great stories for Y&R…. aha ha..

((Kelly is being replaced by Dixie from AMC, she would be PG by Billy, ohh geez spare me!! .. lol

It’s definitely Abigail.
What joy.

And I predict she’ll be the first person ever to carry the child in her hair bun.
It’s big enough for triplets.

Well, I hope Lauren is pregnant and then she can have twin girls..;)

MY HOPE for the other person/couple who may be pregnant would be Sharon and Nick..I never get what I want tho..:(

So, if not shick, then i hope it’s KELLY..

Jill will be pregnant with Colin’s baby.

If Lauren is pregnant this would be a great opportunity to tell a story of late in life parents dealing with a child with disabilities…but based on how poorly the show has incorporated Nikki’s MS into the story I hope that’s not the direction the show takes.

My guess is that Stitch will prove to be the ultimate healer by curing Vicboria’s broken baby maker so we can listen to her whine about THAT for the next nine months.

Stitch, who turns out to be the first female to male soap opera pregnancy.

What about Victoria? I saw a pregnancy story coming Friday. She’s got my vote.

wtf?! mayb because lauren is older she could ve ignored her pregnancy for all these months thinking she was having menopause and it turns out shes really further along and actually pregs with a sexy spawn of carmine?! that way mega sexy marco dapper can return for his son and we can finally get back to the fire that was carmine and lauren! Michael can go slightly rogue again because Christian le blanc is so cheesy when he s acting nice. he excels as nasty and on the verge of evil. no one cares about another medical condition for lauren and her kid when that story will probably be dropped after a couple of months just like nikki s ms condition. either way can the writers find a way to bring carmine back? maybe leslie can defend him like ian and maybe the two of them can heat up our screens? avery even? she can think carmines been rehabilitated and fall for him? whatever pls bring carmine back!! summers coming so we need some man candy on our screens! more tyler too!! I thought this was jfp s speciality , shes slacking… lol!!

I am saying it will be Victoria, and it will be Ben’s. Damn if this is true I will be so mad. I want her and Billy back together.

I take my comment back about Billy and Victoria. I also do not like the new Billy. He doesn’t have the same emotional or chemistry that Billy Miller had. I really think it may be Chloe which may help her to recover. And her and Kevin deserve that connection.

@Sammie. If I remember correctly, Lily is unable to conceive? ….or carry a child. Nonetheless, I think Victoria will be the one who is pregnant,…or will be.

Kinda hoping lauren so we can see sexy carmine back on screen lol.

Ok, not chloe since she’s leaving ynr… Probably not lauren anymore since the age… Avery maybe but I hope not…

My bets are on Sharon (mixed feelings)
Kelly (mixed feelings since watros is not there anymore) or
VICTORIA.. Since she can’t conceive that way they have more of a storyline and a reson to bring miller back!! Hoping.

Oh crap, then there’s Abby..

I’m betting it’s Victoria … She up chucked her hot dog on a date with stitch. I pray it’s Billy’s kid… Stitch should be with Ashley better match .

When are they going to listen to the fans. No pregnant Victoria will cut it. Bring back Billy Miller for Victoria. While your at it Get rid of Eric Braden & Hunter King. If you wont bring back Michael Muhney at least we don’t have to look at those two trouble makers.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
