Hillary B. Smith To General Hospital As Nora Buchanan!

GH Executive producer, Frank Valentini promised an exciting announcement today and he delivered one less than an hour ago.

Valentini, through a video on his Twitter account shared the news that Daytime Emmy winner, Hillary B. Smith is coming to General Hospital as Nora Buchanan!  Smith played Nora on One Life to Live for many years, from 1992-2012 and again in 2013 on Prospect Park’s online reboot of the series.

From the looks of the video teaser, Nora Hanen Gannon Buchanan will be counsel to someone in need of expert legal advice! Could she end up actually prosecuting or defending Franco (Roger Howarth)?  If so, this would not be the first time that Smith and Howarth have worked together in an on-screen legal courtroom battle.  For Smith, won her Emmy for Nora trying to bring Todd to justice for the gang rape of Marty Saybrooke (Susan Haskell) on One Life.

With the hiring of Smith, this is the first time since the rights to One Life to Live are back with ABC that GH has been able to utilize a character from the beloved soap opera since the protracted legal battle with Prospect Park.  There is no word yet as to how long Smith will be staying in Port Charles, if its for a guest-star arc, recurring, or on contract is yet to be revealed.

Watch the video annoucement featuring Rebecca Budig (Hayden) of Smith coming to GH as Nora Buchanan here. Then weigh-in!

This should be fun.

It would be great to see a few AMC cast members on GH.

Yes! Not just OLTL

YES! SO EXCITING!

wonderful…now bring Bo and Vicky to GH also

I had to google these people being brought up- and found they are 70yrs old and most likely retired and would not want the very long and hard demanding days of a soap schedule.
lol I sure wouldn’t.. but, yah never know they might be up for it.
hope for their fans they return if they are asked to return, but as what position is a question.

KNOCK IT OFF SU0000…FOR REAL. .that’s past annoying. .move on from daytime honey.

Something tells me you are up in age and for whatever odd reason you’re posting like an adult trying to be a twenty something? ? It’s lost its luster dear.

I don’t think the issue here is age but rather is the material they would be given worthy of their talents. Based on what GH has been serving up since Ron left, I would say the answer is no.

Hi Alan ..
exactly right..
Fact is; they are 70ish and that is into retirement age to go back into the highly demanding filming day..
Fact is; what on earth would they do on GH, what role could they possibly play of any significance .
Only one on GH is of that age and seems to be smi-retired and that is Tracy..

((it took less than 30 seconds to google them, they could have been of any age, dunno.
A actors day of filming is very hard/demanding, is fact.
perhaps they would have no desire to even return to the soaps.

su0000, tune into the Disney Channel!

Oh, c’mon, SuzieQ….John Aniston is in his 80’s….and Victor is appraching 80 and still kicking!!
I love everyone from OLTL and I welcome each one, if he/she chose to make an appearance….that includes AMC, albeit I did not like a few characters/actors.

Su…You need a tad of help in your fact-checking skills. If you indeed looked up Hillary B. Smith you would see she is 58 years old…in the same age range as Finola Huges and Nancy Grahn. Now, I only say this to put you in your place as you bragged that it only took you “30 seconds to google them…”

From your posts here you’ve stated you detest Trump. Why? He seems to be everything you are…judgmental, bigoted. Yet, I know why. Because he’s bigoted against you. You’re not in his demographic. You’ve stated you’re of an Indian background. So, I’m assuming you resent his views and see him as racist.

However, you don’t see anything wrong in constantly, and I mean ad nauseum, commenting on age. Who decided at what age people should dress a certain way, act a certain way, continue to work, stop working, be productive, have sex, romance, love…basically a life!!!! Your comment reek of naivete and ignorance. News flash!!!!! People live…until they die. People continue on in their pursuits, their passions, as long as they are able. Unfortunately, illness and death can strike at any age. Until that time in ANYONE’s life…people of all ages live life to the fullest.

What on this earth gives you the right, or the ridiculous opionion, that people should stop their passions, their artistry…their ANYTHING. Who said so? People younger than them…who will BE them one day???

Some of our finest actors in film and television are well into their fifties, sixties and beyond. They were talented when they were younger…and gasp!!!! They’re STILL talented!!!!

I’ve said this to you before. And, this is your right. If you want to view “young” programming…watch it. Seek out TV that only features a younger age group, is written by a younger age group and is geared for a younger age group. Same with film. And, only listen to young musicians, go to a museum that shows young artists’ work…etc. etc.

You KNOW your comments are offensive. Myself, Harry, Alan, davlestev1 and others have repeatedly told you and yet you enjoy posting the same crap over and over. Go away. Seriously. Or grow up.

And, by the way, if you’re going to be offended by racism…you might try understanding that ageism is just as offensive. And ignorant.

Yay to Hillary B. Smith’s arrival. Loved her on OLTL and I’m sure she’ll be a welcome addition to GH for however long she’s appearing.

Oh. By the way, Su? Do you have a cutoff? Ron’s “young”…according to you. Did you know he’s almost 50? And I’m not interested in your answer…

Good GRIEF what is your problem exactly? Age is just a number. Some people are raring to go at 70 – and put 40 year olds to shame sometimes!
I don’t watch General Hospital, but if they start recruiting characters from AMC and OLTL I may just have to tune in. Almost anything is better than the one soap I do follow, Days of Our Lives which is currently beyond boring.
I don’t think we can truly hope for a revival of One Life or AMC but we can always dream – you never know –

WHA-A-T? Bite your tongue once again, suOOOO! Now, let’s see–how old are Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda? And did you hear about their series? And didn’t Lily just win a very important SAG award?
Nora? She is pure gold! And if Nora comes, can Bo be far behind—PLEASE? Love them!

Hi, su,
I think I underdtand what you are trying to say. I, also, see that you do not mean to insult; so, some people need to ease up on you.
Sometimes our wording makes us step in caca, but, with good intention.

I get it, as I said as much of Lucci. There are certain roles that the ‘older’ cast is more equipped to handle; whether that be experience or otherwise.
Can we picture Susan Lucci acting as Nina? I certainly can’t….as I was trying to say to Shay. No, this would not be her role. So, I think the door should be open to every actor/actress with the right role….and, yes, according to age.
Furthermore, I do agree that there are roles specifically fot the older cast. Regardless of the fact that people get so bent out of shape when they discuss age. But, it is what it is. You are expressing an opinion. Your right.
As my grandmother says, age is a badge of honor and she wears each line and wrinkle with pride. It is a statemrnt of strength and perseverence.
I know you had no malicious intent, but some just live taking it too far, and take some of us to task. You are being you, my friend.
As for myself, I cannot stress enough how happy it makes me to see anyone from OLTL and AMC….young, old or in-between. And, as many have stated, I wish Bo would come with Nora.
I miss those people with all my heart.
Later, su. Sorry you have been castigated. No worries.

I need to correct myself…I see you were referring to the actors that play Vicky and Bo…not Hillary/Nora. So…my entire message still stands. Fifties, sixties, seventies and beyond…people in real life and on TV are all ages. Stop bringing up the subject. For a “young” person you’re awfully redundant.

Oh, Wow, s. I looks like we have rehearsed our comments…. we’re hundreds of miles apart!!!! LOL. some words are verbatim. Will you look at that? Go figure. You a leftist, moi an Independent. HaHa.
I take it you never watched OLTL? I also take it you do not welcome GH vets coming back? I’m new t

Sorry, su..pressed “submit”by accident, prematurely.
…I’m new to GH, but I like seeing Lucy, Felicia, Mac etc….I don’t even know them, but I appreciate them.
Anyway, remember once you told me to ignore vitriolic voices? You stuck up for me as I have for you, on many occasions.
I think some people are so full of themselves; to the point of being entitled of putting others down as if they walk on higher, holier ground.
I have been criminalized for supporting Trump. Do I care? It’s a free country. Better to be ruled by a tough president then be Iran’s puppet, who has now the power to annihilate us.
You can see that it’s basically one squawking chicken who cluck-clucks with frustration.

So, su, albeit you’re “with her”, i hold no malice toward you. I care not , I still like you.
We differ in how we perceive soaps. I am very “old fashioned” in my taste of movies, TV shows, and I love the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s music. I am a rocker at heart, albeit I wasn’t even born during this era. I suppose, it’s because I grew up watching soaps and exposed to this music bedore I could talk. Thanks to my grandmother…..she took care of us, as my mother was in law school.
I looooove soap vets.
When I heard Hillary B. Smith was making an appearsnce on GH, my heart sang. I can only hope more will be coming.
Again, I want to stress that I do see your side, albeit, as someone said, age is a state of mind…..but, within limits. Age-appropriate needs to be heeded. My opinion. If someone wants to attack me? Go ahead. I will still go to bed and wake up in the morning and go on with my life as usual, without a hitch.
Aren’t you sick and tired of being brow-beaten for speaking your mind? But, those vociferous’entities’; the most knowledgeable, perfect know-it-alls, have no qualms insulting others.

Should read like this:
There is no age appropriate once someone becomes an adult. There’s age appropriate for a child because they’re young and need to be protected and guided. As an adult…as long as one’s actions doesn’t hurt someone else…people need to live their life the way they want…not how “society” decrees they should.

Older actors? They don’t need an age appropriate role. /Whether they are portrayed as business owners, newlyweds, starting a new career, perhaps falling in love for the first time and feeling giddy over it…it’s ALL open. It’s the human experience and there’s no timeline other that that marked by biology (a woman’s ability to bear a child). Other than that…the choices and lifestyles are wide open. There are no “rules” other than man-made judgements.

Religious? “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Now, maybe that is fine by you because you’re of the mindset that you would NEVER act or dress or pursue any of the things older characters on your shows do. Perhaps you’re right. Perhaps YOU wouldn’t. But there are people in REAL life, who DO live those things…and ARE that age. Experience is a great teacher. And to quote another…à chacun ses goûts …to each his own.

NO!!!!! Maureen, I loved OLTL and miss it terribly. However, Frank trying to use GH as a portal to keep his OLTL characters alive has had a negative impact on GH.
Either bring back OLTL or let these characters go, period.
I also do not appreciate that Frank’s attachment to his former OLTL has come at the expense of GH characters.
Suooo–how old are you exactly? You never say but you are obsessed with age. You almost seem to be raging, raging and raging against the dying of the light and against lost youth which tells me you’re most likely a Golden Girl.
Young folks simply don’t talk the way you do.

@Addison…Kudos for your common sense reply! The fact that you were an avid viewer of the defunct OLTL makes your opinion particularly valued and appreciated because it indicates an impartial analysis of the very issue which you’ve so aptly addressed. In other words, you have not allowed your passion for the late Llanview and its residents to cloud your judgment or sense of fairness in recognizing the truly deleterious effect the obsessive effort to resurrect OLTL on the GH canvas has created upon the latter, and I thank you for that. As a previously longtime GH viewer, I cannot help but deeply resent the use of my formerly beloved soap for that purpose, as well as a convenient dumping ground for the casting wish-fulfillment list of regulars from the last two ABC daytime dramas to be cancelled, not to mention a few other notable, high-profile interloping arrivals from competing daytime shows. These seriously intrusive practices have gotten way out-of-hand and ruined the basic flavor and heritage of the original GH to such an extent that I can no longer bear to watch the unrecognizable mess of a mélange it has become. The very heart and soul of the Port Charles we once knew and loved has continued to be diminished and destroyed with the additions of insipid, unrelated newbies and a succession of big soapster-gets that the current showrunner so obviously relishes whilst he consistently chips away at the rich legacy of GH in a clearly nonchalant, yet, quite frankly, often gleeful manner. As is the case with most of us here at MFSoaps, I’ve had many of my cherished programs go to “Soap Opera Heaven”…and, of course, I fondly remember and miss their stars as much, or possibly even more so, than those who endlessly drone on about their characters/actors from OLTL/AMC, but that doesn’t mean that I expect Port Charles to play host to them, despite my own personal druthers…There are realistic parameters for whom and what works in the scheme of any show’s playbook and those considerations must be paramount, regardless of my nostalgia for soap operas past. It’s just too bad that numerous fellow posters cannot demonstrate that same perspective when it comes to their nearly-constant clamoring for the return of certain characters from soap cities which no longer exist. At some point, people simply need to face the notion that most of those now-gone individuals they hold dear shall never be making a comeback to Port Charles….or anywhere else—and then move on accordingly!!!

Hey Addie… 🙂

I disagree. Love ya…but disagree. We’re in a new soap age. Perhaps OLTL will come back; probably not. But dealing with the here and now…I, personally, would love to see, and welcome, many characters from OLTL. Why? Because, at its most obvious…it’s a fictional world. And in fictional worlds, anything and everything is possible. Instead of losing characters to the nebulous glow of days gone by…this is an opportunity to bring people back to life…and back into our lives.

This doesn’t negate the fact that I’d love to see more GH characters. I’ve stated that many times. I miss Mac. I’d love more Scott. Laura and Kevin should be featured more. Let’s get another story for Tracy. KEEP NED!!!

But…just as in real life…people come and go. So, in this fictional world…I’d love to see Nora come by. Vicki, Bo, Clint. It only opens the world for me, not closes it. If the show evolves…so be it. It just enriches the world and takes it a bit further out of its microcosm…allows “neighbors” to frequent Port Charles…I think it’s a great idea! Daytime soaps are a dying breed. We know that. So if keeping characters alive, while maintaining the “flavor” of GH can somehow be accomplished, I’m all for it.

Unfortunately, and I’ve said this before too, many of our memories of GH were of it’s way former years. There’ll never be an Audrey, Steve, young Luke n Laura, Scorpio, Sean, Tiffany…etc, etc, etc. They’re gone. Even the few who remain…the characters, the time, the stories…they’ll never be the same. And, after decades, how could they? Our own lives change…

So. Be happy we get to see “old friends.” We need them now more than ever. 🙂

@Shay.
Hey, Shay,
Your writing blows me away. So simply put, yet so eloquent. I see the light….well, except for the word ” impartiality”. It depends on one’s individual perception, mon amie!! I do believe that sometimes this misconstrued word is only used when convenient to some.
And, said people should follow their own advise, as they do decry others’ individual thoughts. I do not bend to others’ will, lectures or aggression. Who died and made them omnipotent?
Speaking of”Soap Opera Heaven”…. tell me about it. I want ANOTHER WORLD to come back. I miss those characters/actors/actresses, as well. But, as you say….pipe dreams. I suppose the soaps are part of us….the characters become family, and it’s hard to let go.
Between you and Alan….well, both your writing is an inspiration.

But you did, Blanche you did!
(make ageist statements time and time again).

Love Baby Jane Hudson

Addison…thank you for your comment further down the scroll. As Arnold might say, “I’ll be back.” Can’t let them take over MF, too.

Yes!! Bo Too!!!

Sorry, you you seem to be overly sensitive about age.
but it is fact, they are 70ish (i did not say anything other than that.
Lighten up, lol .. geez it is what it is, they are 70 and I was wondering where on earth they could possibly fit into GH that would be a role of any significance and that is also a fact..
Every Time a person’s age is mention some find need to freak out over the facts that they are 70.. even Tracy (whom I love) gets little air time seems she is smi-retired.
you find age to big a big deal I don’t.. it is what it is.
Now, be nice .. its nothing personal.

Suoo, let’s talk about something less controversial and which might unify you, Rebecca and myself. Let’s talk about Donald Trump!

Kidding, of course!

ahha Addison ..
there is not enough bandwidth for my comments of Trump ..
Actually, I was not for Trump or Hillary.
I didn’t like either of them, well Bernie is cool.
My Trump comments are not of the presidency but about the man-child 😉

Anyways.. The Republicans will impeach Trump as soon as they get their Supreme Court Justice and everything else and then after they will, without a doubt, take their coveted party back ((wait for it))
I just have fun watching the show play out and it has just begun LOL ..

Hey Addison .. I’ll bet you that Ivana nevers moves into the white house ((she won’t leave her golden tower..

Now back to our soaps …

Su…it’s not about being “overly sensitive” about age. It’s about you bringing up age on almost every response you give..whether it be about the writers or the actors. All age/all the time.

As for your friend saying you’ve said nothing insulting…it IS insulting when you talk about people so old “they’re ready for diapers” and are so old “they’re taking the soaps to the grave with them…”

You may not mean to be offensive, but many have told you those comments are. And yet…you still make them. Over and over. Something perhaps to think about…

I have no reason to dislike you or say combative things. But we are regulars on this site and there does come a point when one needs to stand up for what they believe in…what offends them…be it racism, anti-semitism, ageism. When it’s pointed out that comments are offensive, we, as fellow posters, should perhaps reflect on what we’re saying that is creating such a reaction.

Politics? That’s a different issue. That’s a worldwide debate that isn’t “personal”…but a reality that effects every inch of our lives. Different story and because of that there’s every reason TO express our dissent.

Suoo, I like you–I really do.
As a long distance cross country runner, I look at age as I look at hills. I tell myself that hills are my friend and I chug up that hill. I look at time as my friend, and I chug up that hill of time. This gives a whole new positivity to the phrase, over the hill. Maybe it’s a good thing to be over the hill because you’ve earned that right to run downward.
PS. I still have a Bernie bumpersticker on my car.

hi rebecca1..
as I said .. sensitive about age mentions going on lol ..

The only time I have mentioned age is my opinion of the age of the writers, I want young writes. And I will never change my mind about that ..All others I do not care one way or the other.

It is the above that’s upset about about an age mention, nothing to do with me that a mention of their age, just a fact… I did not make any personal comments of them, none because I do not care, just a mention their age..geez lol
.. nothing personal.. I do not care about the age of any of the posters none of my business and I have no interest to know..
big {{{{ hug }}}}}

Hey Addison!
good ol’ Bernie!!
Run that bumper sticker proudly!
Bernie is da`man ..
When he’s a guest on whichever news I never miss him..

((I could have used his free collage, I’m still paying 🙁 ..

Suuuuuuuuuuu!!!! LOL! Yes, you did make ageist comments. Many times…and you did say something about wearing diapers and going to the grave. Own the comments!!!!

With that said, you can be so darn pleasant that it’s difficult to stay angry with you. So… hug…there. I said it!

sigh. 🙂

Nice…..but give me some John & Natalie or Blair & Todd!

Hell yes! Give us Michael and Melissa. Love Hillary B. Smith

You are never getting Natalie and John again.

Frank has zero interest in Archer. Thank god.

Easton doesn’t wanna play John anymore. Read his interview with Logan.

Jolie will only exist in your fan fic. This is GH, not OLTL.

Howarth, Easton, Alderson, Kassie, Flo, and Hillary are Frank’s pets.

Archer is never coming to GH. Natalie was a terrible character. Fake Buchanan.

Long live Hayden and Finn. Natalie doesn’t exist.

We only HOPE we NEVER get MA on GH! John and Natalie were beyond boring — they made absolutely ZERO sense. I have nothing against Melissa, but John and Natalie were beyond dumb! Now, if you want to start talking about John and Evangeline — well, I’m totally here for that! Michael and Renee Elise Goldsberry had ALL of the chemistry in the world!

I do like Hayden and Finn! Rebecca and Michael have nice chemistry. I’d love for Renee to be Finn’s long lost wife who’s most definitely alive! And, overall, I’d love to see more OLTL/AMC vets on GH because, let’s be honest, GH has absolutely NO IDENTITY at this point. There’s no main family, no main business focus, just a bunch of stories going on without any destination in sight. AMC & OLTL always had main families in focus, and there was always a prominent family business in the main storylines.

I agree with Trophy Lady and Addison. I loved Evangeline and John…much more than I ever liked John and Natalie. LOL…I actually liked everyone better with John (Blair, Kelly) than Natalie.

Love me some Archer and Easton!

Oh yes completely agree. Melissa Archer and Michael Easton were phenomenal together. Exceptional chemistry. To each his own, this fan misses them immensely!

I do agree with Trophy Lady–John and Evangeline were HOT< HOT< HOT!!! I have nothing against Archer, but she always seemed to be posing thusforth, putting the Arch into Archer.

.Ha ha yes. Melissa is well endowed . I like the posters above was and am a Jolie fan.

Excited about Nora Buchanan. Excellent actress. Yes Bring on Bo. The PCPD is a joke!
Would love him as commissioner. And God yes bring Melissa Archer and Erika Slezak on as well. Yes loved Michael and Melissa and Viki also.

Love Archer and Easton. They were hot and I would welcome them with open arms. They are incredibly miss d by many fans.

I am one of those fans. Enjoyed Michael Easton and Melissa Archer on OLTL. The plan was to bring her on before the PP debacle. Love that redhead and would love to see her grace my screen again.

Oh hell yes. Bring Melissa on!

Loving it but also seeing freak outs that GH will become OLTL

Agree! I enjoy the lectures by certain posters here regarding why soaps were cancelled and why they can never come back. (Very repetitive but entertaining in their condescending way !) of course shows can come back, it has happened before. OLTL fans are hard core, and maybe the network is realizing that.

This is really exciting! I agree. Vicki and Bo next. And let Roger be Todd.

On the same page with you, Lisa. Nora Buchanan is a great character, so much life to her role as it was on OLTL. I hope her spunk shines on GH. And if they can get some more Buchanans in town, that would help build up Port Charles again. Tracy Quartermain is a strong one, but the Quartermains as a whole haven’t shined as a family in years, since Edward died. Can’t wait to see Nora’s role take off!

Clint and Tracy would make a great couple.

Hillary and Nancy Lee Grahn would be fun to watch.

If this can bring more viewers to GH, great! HBS is a fine actress.

I agree with you Jay. We really need more viewers.

I knew GH was going to cash in on getting the rights back to OLTL. I am so happy and I think this is only the beginning. We will see more of our old favorites from ABC Daytime on our screens.

I’m happy, too James but we can expect much rejection from others who don’t welcome OLTL characters on GH. I can see both viewpoints. I miss GH in its “original” cast. I would like to see characters many of us have already mentioned…more Laura, Kevin, Lucy, Scott, Mac, Ned…it’s absolutely absurd the resistance the powers that be over at GH have regarding these core GH characters! On the other hand, until and if they ever bring back OLTL…whether for an occasional “special”…a half-hour format…I totally welcome the characters from that iconic soap. I think Nora will fit in perfectly; she reminds me a bit of Alexis in temperament…the intelligence, quick wit, sarcasm, loving nature yet powerhouse attorney. Great news!

Rebecca…I love Nora as well. Would be fun to bring Bo back and do a little two-step. Just to let you know I’ve been mostly quiet lately. May do what Harry did for the same reasons. Best to you.

Hi Rose! Was wondering where you’ve been…

Yes, great news about Nora! I’m hoping they bring over more characters…if even for occasional visits. I think the possibilities are endless now that they got the rights back.

And, sigh…I understand about you dropping out of sight, so to speak. It gets worse and worse. I could never have imagined this scenario…and, to be redundant…it’s beyond surreal.

Hope to see you back on a more regular basis soon. Til then… 🙂

Dear Rose, I won’t tell you to smile or to cheer up.
But I will say to look for silver linings such as: 1. Americans are plumbing the good books once again. Books like George Orwell’s “1984, Sinclair Lewis’s “It Can’t Happen Here” and Phillip Roth’s “The Plot Against America” are all on the best seller list. 2. Americans are finally back to speaking out against injustices as they realize the power of the people. For too long we as a society have been apathetic and somewhat somnolent. And finally, 3. We no longer have to ask why the terrorists hate us. We know.
In the meantime, enjoy your escapism and talk about it here You have been missed.

I read elsewhere that Hillary’s going to be playing Nora in the context of being PC’s new DA. I loved hearing that; good indicator that they just won’t have her passing through town, but instead sticking around. I think she’ll shake things up in a good way!

That would be fantastic! Wonder if Bo will follow…

If Nora Buchanan is the new D.A., chances are she won’t be a successful one because the most popular characters on GH are criminals who never get convicted of anything. And, if I’m reading this correctly, her character wasn’t able to even get Todd Manning convicted of gang rape over on OLTL. I don’t care how popular Roger Howarth is. Letting a character get away with gang rape is HORRIBLE. What a misogynistic plotline.

Nora did not prosecute Todd for the gang rape. She was the attorney for the defense who caused a mistrial once she figured out that he did the crime, by imploring the jury to find her clients guilty. He then went to jail after Marty tricks him into a recorded confession. He later stalked and tried to rape Nora while she was temporarily blind from an illness.

Oh, WOW!! So exciting….can’t wait….

i havent watched…my father passed away so its been a very depressing week….this about nora is good news news-hope more oltl faves appear….hope John and Todd come back and the actors current characters are dumped…i wont be posting much anymore but i will be around every now and then!…

Jimh,

I’m very sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Blessings to you and your family, Jim. My condolences.

Jimh, I am so sorry.. Many have felt your pain it’s too real.
God bless ..

Sorry Jim about the loss of your Dad. You will begin your new norm holding onto all embraces he sends you.. Nora hasn’t been on yet. But looking forward to her being another attorney. Her and whats her name worked together for a long time on OLTL. very exciting. Again… My condolences. If only life was a soap and our dads would come back with amnesia then cured.

Deepest condolences on your loss, jimh. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers…..

So sorry for your loss God Bless you and family. I would love for Todd to come back I do not mind Franco, but some fans will not give the character a chance. I adore Finn Easton is doing an excellent job with that role he deserves a change.

My condolences, Jimmy. Take care, my friend.

Sorry for your loss. Hang in there.

Remember what I said about “Hope”.

Come back to the site when you are ready.

Thanks to all replies for your kind words…it really means a lot to me…love you all!

Sorry for your loss, Jim. Try not to go too far away from us. Your opinions of the soaps are always good to read.

Jimh..I have just caught up to MF after a few days away. But I want you to know I am so sorry for your loss. Take care.

Hey there, CeeCeeGirl!!!….Just a few thoughts in response to your Susan Lucci comments further down this page….Firstly, I didn’t find your notions indelicately put in the least….forthright, yes, but that’s just the way I like them…we can always agree to civilly disagree on any subject, then move on….no biggie! When I was proffering the idea for Erica Kane to take over Crimson, I had in mind a publishing grande dame in the mold of an Anna Wintour, the late Helen Gurley Brown or even that eternal fashion legend, Diana Vreeland…age is/was an irrelevant issue when one considers the impact and influence these women imparted upon their respective magazines….hence I have no problem repeating my suggestion for “Brand Erica” to do likewise….her character has a long, storied history as a style diva and as such, could provide the necessary gravitas, credibility and imprimateur to Crimson that “Nutty Nina” never could…..although I do agree that Maxie creates a wonderfully youthful perspective and balance with her presence, and I would definitely keep her in the editorial suite! (Just think how much that “woman of the world,” Erica, could teach Ms. Jones!…) Know what? It’s really quite fitting that I wish to supplant her in your Nina’s place, since it was LaLucci’s glamorous soap vixen who originally captured my own tweener imagination, not in a totally dissimilar fashion to the manner in which you initially enjoyed MS ….it was always a treat to see what Erica was wearing and for whom she was next setting her cap….I loved Susan’s classy, sassy, dressed-to-the-nines portrayal of that she-devil, Erica…..despite the fact she could often be a bad girl, she was never inherently evil, disgustingly trashy or in any other negative way comparable to those irredeemable gems of deplorable female creation that we so often see on today’s GH…there was always a grace, an elegance and a dignity that I admired in both Erica and the actress who played her. The notion that Miss Lucci was also such a grounded professional with an admirable real life existence only added to my esteem for her. So that is why I had to mention my lack of objection to Ms. Kane stepping foot in Port Charles….she is the sole exception to my rule that no OLTL/AMC character should tread upon the GH canvas…..As for your query about Carly’s familial situation??? I rarely watched the previous two incarnations of the character before Laura Wright took over the role, because I didn’t like either one of them, nor was I thrilled with the Sonny-centric storylines at those particular times…(Sound familiar????) Therefore, I am only vaguely versed in her backstory from its earliest days, but I believe I already told you that her bio-dad was said to be Mayor John Durant (aka, Corbin Bernsen) who fathered her during a romp with then-prostitute Bobbie way back in the day….(At least THAT explained how she turned out to be so tall and blonde….and bore absolutely no resemblance to her mother!) She was with an adoptive family in Florida during her formative years before heading to Port Charles to wreak havoc on Bobbie’s life in retaliation for being abandoned, so I’m not sure how that Frank guy would fit into the picture in terms of Nelle’s paternity. I’m thinking that perhaps Nelle is also a daughter of Durant? I remember he was killed in a shootout in Carly’s presence although I don’t recall if her involvement led to his death???….I was only casually watching the show at the time, but perhaps that is the root of Nelle’s issues with Carly. At this point, I really couldn’t divine any other motivation, as far as a biological link to these two. There are plenty of scenarios one could create out of thin air based upon the legacy characters of GH to give Nelle a plausible identity and connection to the canvas, but the mere fact that she so loathes Carly means there has to be some underlying tension there that is either borne of her being a daughter or sister to her….or perhaps some other Spencer spawn, since there is purportedly that shared DNA which enabled her to be a donor for Josslyn. (However, if that particular story is ever disproved, then I have a number of great theories, including one that Nelle could actually be a Quartermaine, courtesy of AJ….which would most certainly explain her contempt for both Carly and Sonny, eh???) Just a thought there, CeeCee….just a thought!

Than you, my Shay. I can never argue with your well-thought-out, well-written prose. I can only call it prose…..I have always looked up to you and your expressive words.
And, yes, it does the body, mind and soul well to disagree in a civil manner.
Susan Lucci is a lady….always has been. She is also a patroness of a few charities. As I said she does not live far from me…..she lived even closer before selling her gorgeous mansion in Westhampton Beach ( Quoque), albeit she still lives in Suffolk County.

As far as I am concerned, Nelle could belong to any family, at this point. Someone
else had mentioned that she could be AJ’s daughter. And, I sort of ran with that excellent idea and proposed that Nelle and Michael have a platonic relationship because Nelle is aware of their sibling connection. She is actually beginning to grow on me. But, Bobbi is starting to suspect Nelle is somehow a missing link to something she can’t even fathom.
Sometimes, Shay, Bobbi looks sinister to me. Furthermore, I did not like the alliance between her and Felicia in tricking Nelle. For the greater good??
Obviously, Carly, and indirectly Bobbi must have done something grave and unforgivable to either Nelle or someone very close to her.
Is that her silver rattle, or did she have a baby who died or taken away from her? When she looks heavenward, is Nelle talking to her father? It seems the revenge sooo detectable in her words, body language and eyes is stronger than herself…a driving force. And, Chloe is killing the role. She truly owns it.
I guess I’ve bored you and everyone enough, tesoro!
Arrivederci……a presto.

Could it be that ABC actually learned something from the soap fans. Hopefully by reintroducing characters from AMC & OLTL it’s a sign the soaps may return. LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON!!

Doesn’t some of this stem from the fact that PROSPECT PARK orignally claimed that ABC was trying to make General Hospital a “super soap” by incorporating characters from One Life and AMC into their existing show and that PP objected to them doing that? Well now ABC has the character rights back so we shall see what happens as time goes by.

Nice to see her again. Bring in Bo for the PCPD. Have her working with Roger would be fun- but not as his lawyer-let her say he reminds her of someone and play it from there. Vicki would be nice. We need another rich family in there besides the Q’s. Now go to AMC and bring Tad and Dixie back on. Please NO Erica–we have enough evil women on the show. MAybe Greenlee could leave GH and make room for another star to come on.

Cannot stand Hayden:((((

Love Hayden. Love Hayden and Finn.

The character of Hayden makes my stomach churn!

Neither can I.

Hayden and Franco are among some of the most propped characters I’ve ever seen!

I was not a fan of Hayden until they paired her with Finn. I love Fayden aka Hayden and Finn.

Love Hayden, from here to forever!!

I am glad I am not the only one, Hayden is horrible. I fast forward through her scenes.

Thank you “posts” who agree that GH is so obvious in the prop department

these soiled characters with no real connection to GH are wasting our time

Hadyen and FInn can look as happy as can… all cured lovey dovey and making their mark just so precise … with complete smile and even with aura

give me a break. AND LEAVE BRAD ALONE… he just wants in on the patent

why did they drag this out that much more? not enough fawning over.. because he’s McBain from OLTL . so he’s getting Griffin to write him opiate prescriptions?

there is absolutely no chemistry with these two…. I WILL POST… Hayden should have died. she has no value

her acting is too contrived… not real… because she knows she has that 4 year conract , and as his pet… Frank Valentini has spiraled

I wonder how much cache’… GH would bank… with firing Sonny / Carly / Jason / Sam / Finn / Hayden – may as well add Franco – the dullards

just makes the firings and letting go of GOOD ACTORS that much more frustrating… Paul / Morgan / Dr. Joe / Sabrina / Nicholas… these 5 characters left an indelible mark… and lasting impression… I miss them

you know… really good actors with the rest of the cast… and you throw in characters from AMC and OLTL. with good writing… this is A LOT of Potential. we don’t need the dullards

Actually, the iconic Erica Kane is the only character from the AMC/OLTL bunch I could abide coming to Port Charles….Susan Lucci’s glamorous character is an absolute soap legend and I could easily imagine her appearing on the GH canvas to both take over Crimson magazine and add some class and elegance to the show….that would also kill two birds with one stone because it could pave the way to provide Nina a speedy one-way ticket out of town, and what a blessed thing that would be!!!! As for giving Hayden the old heave-ho….I’m with you there!

I would like to see Erica and Tracy lock horns!

Awwwww…Shaaayyyy,
Why? LOL.
Amazing how we perceive characters, eh?? I have always liked Rebecca ….since her AMC days.
Later.

Oh, no no, My lovely Shay.
Susan Lucci may be classy, but too old to bring innovative ideas to Crimson. She’s old enough to be Michelle’s mother.
Nina has spirit and spice, which is exactly what the show needs.

Out of context….Could this Frank that Carly is talking about be Carly’s bio father? Could Bobbi have ceded her to him and never told Carly he was her real father?
Carly said he left her and her adopted mother when she was three. So, perhaps, Frank started a new life after he abandoned Virginia and Carly. Nelle being the product of said, new family.
Many posters did say that Carly and Nelle may be half sisters.
Was Frank ever on the show, or is he just mentioned in the abstract?

Walt Willey, Julia Barr, Kassie D, Susan Lucci and the characters of Opal, Jamie and JR

PS.
Hi again, Shay,
I may have worded my comment indelicately….by no means would I deny Susan Lucci a welcome to GH. I love her…always have. She doesn’t live too far from me.
I was only referring to that setting; that is, editor of the magazine.
I think Nina is perfect for that job, and Maxi adds youth and oomph.
Susan would be great as a beauty consultant or as the resident dowager of the castle. Yeah, make her Valentin’s mother.
Methinks, I’ve been reading too many British Romance novels, LOL.

I marvel that some think a gorgeous, glamorous female of 70 can’t have “innovative” ideas… a woman who’s life was centered around beauty and glamour…as “too old” to run a fashion magazine…but yet think a 70 year old man with NO political experience can suddenly run an entire country and impose his views upon the world. Just a thought…

Celia – when I watched this episode I understood this as Frank was Carly’s adopted father, married to Virginia. I do agree that I think Nelle might be Frank’s kid but not sure why that would make her bitter towards Carly since it would be a whole other family. Just wish they would bring this one to an end or make it more juicy while we wait because I can’t stand Nelle and it’s time to move on.

Love Finn, Hayden, not so much.

Cannot stand Hayden

Love Finn , adore McBain and Jolie!

Now Hayden is financial officer at GH? Can you say PROP much? What a joke. Well Dr.O was chief of staff so…..

Hayden,Nina and Nelle can either exit stage left or fall off of Windermere’s parapets and they would never be missed! Not a fan of these characters at all.

Agree with Jamie. A grifter, a thief and an assaulter now financial officer for GH. I can’t stop laughing. Enough already. How many shoehorns have you used with Hayden and Nina. Really?

Oh if Erika Slezak joined General Hospital believe me I’m there….there’s NO question about that! That would REALLY open the door to bringing in more Agnes Nixon created characters to the canvas!

She is an excellent actor and would add a lot to the show. I just wonder if they would do her justice though. The writing would have to greatly improve. Only wish Asa was alive- he could take over for the Cassadines and give the Q’s a run for their money. Could you imagine – Vicki, Asa, Adam Chandler/Stuart , Bo all together on one show. Wow!

LOVE Hillary/Nora and YES let’s bring Bo along to PCPD for some real backbone to fight all that 3 family crime spree.

That would be great.

GH needs something exciting so lets hope it is good!!

Choosing “Nora” is a nice sensible start…of course would love to see Dorian, Viki and Roxy battle with Deliah…the latter, separated at birth!

Yes, Roxy needs to come back–with her beaver.

Roxy cant come back as Roxy. Ilene Kristen already recurs as her Ryan’s Hope character Delia. Things cant get too convoluted!

Great news! Now RH has to go back to the fan fav Todd Manning. Franco does not work!

hey!
I’m luvin Franco!
A very unique character and Rogers deserves to take home the emmy, also.
I never FF Franco, that character is awesome!

Todd manning as OLTL is dead, gone…

Franco needs to be killed off.

Do not want Nora wasted propping him like everyone else.

Worst romance in the 20 year history of Liz’s character.

Todd is also not needed back and the Howarth show needs to stop.

Bring back Tyler as Nikolas with the open payroll from Howarth after Franco dies.

Roger is an Emmy winning actor and gives 100% to everything he does. You can still see bits of Todd in him which makes him that much more endearing.
Roger and Becky together is going to make one fantastic and exciting couple. Excellent actors that will be anything but boring.
Outside of Jason and Liz or Jake Doe and Liz – this is one of the best pairing she has had.
Get rid of the boring couple they are tying so hard to prop to keep them going. With sam gone…Jason can finally find someone to love and not feel propped.
Actually – like Steve Burton said – he wished the writers actually explored the love between JAson and Liz and built on that. Maybe a triangle between Liz, Franco and JAson trying to win back the woman he always loved from the day they first met. If not for his mob connections and danger – he would of been with Liz a long time ago. She is his soul mate . His coming back as JAKE Doe and him being immediately drawn to Liz proves that. Then the writers had to try to PROP JAsam as usual and they messed it all up..and it’s been downhill ever since.

well su…we can agree on Franco. love how the character has evolved…and loving Todd and Liz!

LOL…was “multi-tasking.” I meant FRANCO and Liz!

I never heard of Nora Hanen Gannon Buchanan ..
Anyways- it will all be good if the character brings Franco up front..

((seems like a guest appearance for the trial..

You are delusionally out of touch with what soap viewers want sister! Why do you watch soaps, girlfriend??

Oh! I am so happy!

SO EXCITED!!! Bring as many OLTL and AMC “vets” on that you can!!!

I loved OLTL as much as anyone, but Kin Shriner and Carolyn Hennessey barely get enough airtime. However, if Nora’s coming to defend Olivia Jerome and the reveal is she masqueraded as Alex Olanov back in Llanview, that’s a scenario I’d buy into.

I love that idea!

That scenario makes me very happy. I interviewed Tonja a few years ago and she was floating the idea of Olivia/Alex being one and the same then. I hope this comes to fruition. I’d like them to connect the shows more (like they started to do with Alcazar/Tomas). I have a stupid hope that enough of these OLTL and AMC visits will spark more interest in reviving one or both shows (and please don’t lecture me that those shows are dead and done…. everyone said that no OLTL or AMC would ever appear on GH again and well, that’s not really true is it? 🙂 )

How great would that be, to tie in the story of both shows into one over-arching umbrella! Awesome idea!

YES!! Can’t wait to see her on there. It will be nice to have her on there!

OMG!!! Such exciting news! I love Hillary B Smith!

As much as I like Hillary B. Smith as an actress, the General Hospital cast is already too large and greatly unused. Why bring on another female attorney who looks similar to Nancy Lee Grahn’s Alexis Davis? This seems like a very bad move for #GH and something Frank Valentini is doing just to bring on characters/actors from his pet show OLTL.

I completely agree with you. GH already has so many actors from OLTL, AMC, and YR that legacy GH actors/characters are short on stories and screen time. If ABC wants to utilize OLTL characters, then they should bring OLTL back from the dead!

I will have no problem if this is a short term appearance by Nora and this doesn’t turn out to be another Franco propping stunt.

A whole lot fun in the courtroom is on the way if we get her crossing paths with Scott or Diane for a few episodes during sweeps.

GH will benefit by having Nora around as a guest star as long as it’s not about Franco.

another “prop” that seems so obvious… and I can’t stand it

how things just fall in to their lap and they rarely do anything…

is Sam and Jason… all they need are their matching black leather jackets and off they go

Sam , finding that yellow paper ‘ NOTE from Franco… locked in the storage unit.

@GH… has propped Jason /Carly / Sonny / Sam so far up arse… no? give me a break Frank / Jean / Shelley. these 4 suck… they always will.

ARGH … i’m disappointed that this is the lamest excuse of a story for Seth Baker to be show acting this out. he’s a good actor… he’s exacting revenge for his family…. they all nutted so it seems.

to bad… looked like Michael Rodrick (Seth Baker) had some promise as an actor .

Completely agree. I watch GH, not OLTL or AMC. Please use the Gh vets!!!

I think these appearances will be a way for the network to test just how popular these characters are. If we watch, write and support the show, perhaps there can be a revival. But no one at ABC is going to greenlight starting the soaps up again without lots of tests… and in this case it means an appearance by Nora. More to follow.

I hope so, Andrew. I’d love to see OLTL characters integrated if they could somehow do it in a way that doesn’t lose the feel of GH…and brings back GH vets, as well. Tall order but if they find a way to do it might just save…or…evolve…the daytime soap genre.

This is just plain fun!! Lol. Let the crossovers begin!!!! ABC owns AMC, OLTL, and LOVING! lets get some of those people back! Weave them in and out in 6 week story arcs!! General Hospital hasnt been itself since 2001….so go for it! Get the publicity!!! I would love to see Lisa Peluso slink into town as Ava! Two Ava’s?? Imagine the fun! Nora is beloved and a good start!

I just want AMC & OLTL back on our screens like they used to be

I do too Lori sincerely I do but it seems doubtful that will happen….but hope springs eternal….

I don’t mind this, good actress, good character with a lot of history. As long as GH doesn’t become overrun with old OLTL or AMC characters. There are already plenty of regular GH characters that don’t get enough air time, Genie Francis immediately springs to mind. She’s being criminally underused. But as long as they use them for short storylines, I don’t mind the characters from other shows coming on. These shows are on 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year, so I’m all for anything to spice them up.

Agree. Genie is not on enough. Why can’t the give her a decent story. I love her and Kevin together, but they are never on and with Jon Lindstrom not on contract he could get something else, then what?

Agree with both of you about Genie. She killed it with Finola. So underused!

Here’s a thought: instead of three days of Sonny Carly or three days of Jason Sam each doing the same scene for the umpteen millionth time, how about we reduce both pairs to two days of tedium instead of three? That’s two days for Genie and or others.

Agree wholeheartedly, Tomas. They need to do a better job of spreading out the air time. I don’t mind the top storylines getting the most air time, cause that’s how it is. But spread it out a little more, get some of the other characters represented at least once or twice a week. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.

That’s what I loved about GH when I first started watching, back when Wendy Riche was exec producer, pretty much every character and every storyline got some air time at least once or twice a week. You didn’t go weeks at a time without seeing certain people.

Yes!! And I agree she was geeat

“Criminally underused.” How correct you are. More Genie! More Laura and Jon. Very believable couple for a change. Everyone else pales in comparison. A real head scratcher why she/they aren’t used more. Genie continues to be the “heart” of GH.

Genie has been additional airtime; although, it is mostly “filler” to try to sell insipid Lulu’s stolen embryo/hidden daughter storyline. I would like to see Genie in her own storyline, and see her relationship with Kevin continue to grow and unfold. Also, have her in more scenes with the other vets-Mac and Felicia, Lucy, Scott, etc. I wish the actress who plays Lulu would be written out, along with Dante. The couple has zero chemistry and Lulu is written as an annoying little sister, not a strong Spencer woman.

Finally, dmr, someone who is not a fan of Dante and Lulu. But, it seems that we are not to express ourselves on this site. We HAVE to like those characters whom the most aggressive posters demand of us…wah, wah, wah…..
I would love to see Genie and Kevin enmeshed in a romantic storyline. So far, their relationship is just ‘understood’….step it up, I say.
You are so right…Laura’s job is to showcase lalahead Lulu. I guess a mother’s job is never done? LOL

Love Laura, but I have had no use for Lulu since Julie Berman took a hike.
This one is as perky and cute as a muppet while the old Lulu was ethereally beautiful and yet, street wise. Julie as Lulu was a perfect representation of what would happen if Luke and Laura had a child.
I do like Dante, however. I just don’t like him with this Lulu.

Why can’t they ever seem to write a story for Genie/Laura? I could do without Lulu! I did enjoy the prior actress in the role

Here we go again. Frank hasn’t learned from the last time this happened.

Exactly, Enrique! You just knew that the importing of more OLTL/AMC vets to Port Charles was coming down the pike when they announced the Prospect Park settlement….this practice ruined GH as we once loved it to be the first time it was employed, and of course, now it’s time to double down and repeat the same mistake again. Just another reason (of many….) not to watch this once great soap…..

@GH… MUST

bring back Delia … let her work… @ Ruby’s Diner… or what ever it’s called … that Sean and TJ owned/ operated

I mean this

it’s a place where Ava / Kiki / Avery can see grandma.. and we bear witness to 3 generations of the fabulous

give Ava a semblance of normalcy familial and bonding… Ava and Kiki deserve this

That would appear to be a pipe dream, Patrick. Despite the fact that Delia’s turn as Ava’s mom was one of those rare instances of highly creative, successful casting decisions from the Cartini era, it was quickly displaced by repeatedly disastrous introductions of unpalatable newbies and unnecessary characters solely contrived as vehicles for those pet soap actors that the insistent showrunners foisted upon a loyal GH audience who all along have asked for nothing more than their familiar cast and storylines which revolved around them.

That would be nice. I love that Delia still gets mentioned from time to time, keeping the door open. 🙂

I like that idea, but I have a feeling that Delia’s portrayer is a devoted east coast girl. However, that said, I’m puzzled that they never had her visit and sing at the Nurse’s Ball.

Patrick…Something I hope makes you smile. You seem to have a “little crush” on Nurse Elizabeth Webber. My new day nurse ( Chantel) looks very much like her, and was thrilled when I showed her Rebecca’s picture. She’s not up to speed on GH. She’s also kind and gracious. So I have my own nurse Liz/Chantel today. Hope to go home tomorrow, or next day. Yea!

Congratulations to Hillary B. Smith. I love her work. Nora Hanen Gannon Buchanan is a force!!!!!!!!!

I think it’s a stupid idea, even if it’s a temporary role.
ABC had their chance for crossovers before giving the rights of AMC/OLTL to Prospect Park. And we did get Todd, McBain, Starr, along with Blair and Tea here and there. But because to the lawsuit, we were then given Franco, Silas/Finn, and Kiki (now with a face of her own with Hayley Erin taking over the role). Now on top of that, we have Rebecca playing Hayden and Bree who played Claudiette.
As much as I would love to see OLTL return, it should remain dead and buried because having actors on GH portraying new roles and others playing as old roles is just a little ridiculous.

I’m beyond excited and happy to see Hilary bringing Nora to GH. This is the beginning folks, our shows will be returning. Stefano Dimera is not the only Phoenix in daytime!!

Can’t wait to see who else comes to the show!

Love Hilary and Nora! Stoked to have her back

This is great news for I love Miss Smith but GH is GH and OLTL is OLTL. A guest arc for actors from OLTL is a gift but the series each have their own distinct points of view and directions.

HBS is an awesome actress, and Nora is an amazing character who will fit in well with the GH cast. The show needs a little shot in the arm, and crossovers are always fun.

Based on everything else Jean and Shelly have given us, I expect to be underwhelmed.

Exciting news! Frank is making GH a “Super Soap”!
Great news!

I know I am in the minority but GH could benefit from using some of the more popular OLTL and AMC characters. Those fans lost their soaps, and may not watch GH they would if they could for a little while or long term see their favorite characters again. This could be a win for GH because it would increase the number people watching he show ,and a win for GH increased viewership will keep GH on the air,

have to say, you’re right. I watched all three ABC shows for decades… but turned GH off when it became all Sonny all the time. I started back when Ron started writing and OLTL characters showed up. I continued to watch even when they left because the show was good again… but stopped a couple years ago. however, this may get me to watch again. I love Nora and very interested what they’ll do with her. 🙂

I am in agreement with Dee, if they want to increase viewers, then they should absolutely incorporate some OLTL and AMC characters and weave them into the storylines at General Hospital – ABC owns ALL THE character rights from General Hospital, One Life to Live and all my Children – may as well utilize them in one way or another – I had hopes that the existing characters of AMC and OLTL would combine into a half hour show as a Lead-In to Gen. Hosp. but that might be hoping for too much.

Interesting, Dee. I was thinking the same thing. I can understand why GH long-time viewers and fans would rather see GH vets much more often….it’s natural.
But, I really miss OLTL and AMC…..I know my friends ( who do not watch GH) would start watching in a NY minute, if their faves from the above soaps would be part of the GH cast…..even temporarily.

Your post is 100% correct DeeDee! The soap ancients is shrinking, every viewer counts!

bring in as many characters as possible, then split it up …

into two or more soaps and populate the air time with some good story telling…

PPLLEEAASSEE

I like this a lot. Too add that new soap you would need to lay the groundwork for success.

The Mouse would be wise to do as you suggest

Can’t Liz bring Nora for Franco and Liz knows her .

So happy she is awesome and bring Bo back!! David
Can go with Lucy that would’ve hilarious!!

Yes, Patty, it would be!!!! What a novel, hysterical idea. I can just imagine. Perfect couple! Loooove David.

Oh, that would be hysterical! David, Lucy, and Lucy’s duck, Sigmund, haha!

That IS a great idea, Patty! Loved David and he’d be fantastic with Lucy. Haha…if, like in OLTL he wanted to date an older woman, I could see him with Tracy, as well!

I suppose if GH would have been cancelled I would have relished a GH character to land on OLTL or AMC BUT, lets not go overboard with bringing in other soap stars just to pacify other soap fans. Look at Y&R, it took Steve Burton 4 years to get a decent story. Jason Thompson is still struggling there. GH has way too many capable actors who sit and wait for the inept JELLY to write them a story! Lets remember, its not “One Life to Live at General Hospital” or “All My General Hospital Children!”

Yeah, I see your point, Timmmy. Always the voice of reason. But, I, as so many others, are so hungry for our OLTL and AMC cast, we’d beg for even a small crumb.

GH would be wise to trim ten characters from its current cast then bring in 3 OLTL characters and 3 AMC characters as regulars. Once those 6 are established in Port Charles the show could bring in other characters for visits or short term story arcs while maintaining 2/3’s of the focus on the GH characters. By doing this, the show might bring its ratings up as fans of the cancelled shows tune in to see what their favorites are up to and end up sticking around if the other stories catch their interest.

Of course to make sure that the other stories catch their interest, GH would need new writers…

Alan, THAT is an excellent idea!

But it’s not really General Hospital anymore either. No one worth watching works at the hospital. They’d be better off turning the hospital into the condos and then re-naming show to “Port Charles”. Alot of the Port Charles characters are there anyway, in one form or another.

I love it!

great news! bring more OLTL characters on and I will watch GH. Make Franco go away and bring back Todd Manning. bring John Mcbain back and bring Natalie on for him.

Yesssss. I will take Michael and Melissa anyway any day

Hey great bring Nora in to defend a case – but unless Bo is in tow permanency should be a no go.
GH already has actors that are underused – don’t start flooding the show with AMC and OLTL characters.
If only ABC could bring the shows back themselves – THAT would be fantastic.

The under-used actors could be replaced or the boring storylines could be ditched for better ones. Not saying to bring in new people just for the sake of doing it, but for better TV – hell yes. If these characters are now freed up let’s go for it.
And I agree that bringing in the shows themselves would be the best thing yet, but where would they put them in the lineup? I swore when that “food” show took over AMC’s spot I would never watch it and haven’t to this day.

YES! I don’t care for how long she’ll be on….but to see an old friend, a character that many of us loved will be wonderful. To all the nay Sayers out there, we need to keep GH on, and if this boosts ratings, brings in former OLTL fans to watch, then let it happen! Have a great week everyone!

She is so classy I hate that word but it fits her I just love her!!!!!!!

Great news! This may actually get me to try watching GH again. I watched it for a bit after OLTL was cancelled and did not care for it. Maybe if this gets more viewers, OLTL could be brought back in some form. Bring Bo, Viki, Clint, and Natalie next!

This should be a treat!

OMGoodness!! Love it love it love it!! I loved Nora Buchanan!!! Ahhhh!!

Can’t wait for this! These are scenes I definitely won’t be FFing through!

Love it. It’s a treat for all OLTL fans nd GH fans who don’t really know her will appreciate her great acting!

This reminds me of when Cass Winthrop would visit other P&G soaps. I love Nora and Hillary. I look forward to seeing how it plays out.

@Dean_Morgan….Crossovers were great fun when we had a plethora of daily soaps from which to choose….Such guest shots were inventive, creative and exposed each show’s respective audiences to new and exciting characters they may not have otherwise discovered. But with today’s diminished daytime offerings, taking players from a defunct program and overpopulating an existing soap with those characters at the expense of legacy cast members is not the same thing. It was a barely tolerable practice when the showrunners first tried to turn GH into a resurrected OLTL, and I relish the notion even less this second time around.

Well, this Shay person seems to right on point here.

So excited she is a gifted actress very funny to boot!

More of the Story on ‘General Hospital’ Star Josh Kelly’s Latest Film Role in ‘The Workout’

We had previously shared that General Hospital’s Josh Kelly was taking three weeks away from his role of Cody Bell to a shoot a role in an upcoming movie entitled The Workout.

Josh originally revealed his role in the film during an episode of GH castmates, Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast.

Now Deadline has filled in some of the blanks, and shared some intriguing intel on the premise of the film and its back-story.  The film stars Kelly along with Peter Jae, and UFC Fighter, Ashlee Evans-Smith. Other cast members include The Bay’s Kristos Andrews.

In The Workout, two army rangers set out to create a workout video, but their plans are abruptly halted when a mob hit interrupts their filming. Tragically, one of the rangers loses his wife in the attack, sending him on a relentless mission to take down the mob and anyone who stands in his way.

The film from James Cullen Bressack, almost did not get financed.  Apparently, ten days before his birthday, Bressack made a post on Instagram about the feature and production, casting, and financing came from the post … illustrating the power of social media. After the post gained traction, a producer provided financing and actors expressed interest in joining the project, leading to a quick production.

In a statement, Bressack shared, “As artists a painter paints, a musician makes music, a writer writes, but as filmmakers we have to ask permission to create. It’s time to change that narrative. This film spawned from a necessity to create. We create. We tell stories. We play pretend. I’m excited to take this journey. This is the truest form of collaboration and a community of friends coming together to make something fun. While our industry has had a rough time recently with strikes and a possible strike looming in the future, it’s nice to remind ourselves why we got into film to begin with. To have fun telling stories.”

No word yet on when The Workout will be released.
