Good news for “Skyle” fans who have been devastated that both Hunter King (Summer) and Michael Mealor (Kyle) exited The Young and the Restless when contract talks broke down.

Now comes word via Soap Opera Digest that King and Mealor are on their way back to the top-rated daytime drama for a visit.

Word is that Summer and Kyle are returning to Genoa City for a visit and the actors will tape their scenes this week.

Then, look for them to air on-screen sometime in October.

Y&R viewers recently saw King and Mealor wrap their run on the CBS Daytime drama series when Kyle met up with Summer in Italy.

So, glad to know that there is a little more Skyle on the way? Comment below.

Why? Just as I’m enjoying a Summerless sunmer!

I agree. Sick of both of them.

It’ll be a treat, but not enough.
I would have liked a longer stay and a confrontation between Summer and Sally–and, between Summer and Tara; just to get some satisfaction.
Summer should beg her grandfather to have Sally kicked to the curb.
I was right about Tara from the first moment she appeared on stage with those red, languid eyes and trembling voice.
I, also, said Stitch was the “nutso” behind Mariah’s kidnapping. His appearance was too much of a coincidence. As I said a few days ago, he wanted to be the hero, with the hopes that Abby would take him back for his rescuing the baby ( and Mariah). These soaps are getting way too easy to decipher.

Yes, Celia, Stitch, sorry, “Ben” was my choice also but for different reasons. I thought he was going to steal the baby to spite Abby (in case he blamed her for Max’s deteriorating condition). Either way, it was a dumb story which I mostly FF’d through. I do like that Devon, at least, was suspicious while Sharon shrugged it off and Rey tried to blame Adam. You know I’m a big fan of Mark Grossman as Adam; the thought of him with Sally Spectra makes me reach for the TUMS. Not the small package, either… the big bottle from Costco!

HaHaHa—-my TUMS are prescribed, PROTONIX …..I know how you feel—Sally gives me heartburn, as well– that mouth.
Nonetheless, you know where this is going. As I said, the theme is “been there, done that”—too easy. Adam and Sally—getting the shivers. Yuck!!
Your Stitch theory is just as good—and, yes—dumb story. I am still trying to figure out the purpose it served. Perhaps Camryn needed some time off?
The picture of “hot couple” Moses and Faith strikes such a discordant note, the vision is starting to distort.

Soaphound,
I agree that I also thought Ben wanted the baby, but I hope we have seen the last of him, now that he’s on the run with his mentally ill son, which in itself is scary. My next crazy idea is that they will catch him, put him in jail and playing on the guilt Abby feels, asks her to take care of Max. I don’t think I could watch a SL with a situation like that. It was bad enough years ago when he was just a young kid but he must be a teen now, so wow!

Soaphound
They sure dropped the ball here, didn’t they? After Nina and Ashley showed such grandmotherly interest previously, neither one was there close to the birth or after.

I have a theory, Soaphound—-What if the whole kidnapping thing was contrived so that Mariah would be isolated from everyone in order to develop a closeness with the baby—-a closeness which may not have happened otherwise….that is, if she were among her “people”.
A ploy? She had no one with whom to talk except the baby.
Now, Mariah feels misplaced and desolate—she misses that connection, which is exactly what TPTB had in mind. Can you not just see it, LOL? —-Catfights and fisticuffs galore!!

I’m with you on that theory, Celia. Mariah didn’t seem to really bond with “Bowie” until her imprisonment. Now she’s breastfeeding? Hello! And if she’s gonna name him Bowie, let’s at least hear “Changes” or “Rebel, Rebel” on the soundtrack (but NOT sung by Tessa, thank you). This is so similar to the GH battle years ago between Maxie, Lulu, and Britt over Rocco. Until Victor gets involved, it’ll be deadly dull.

I know, my friend. I so miss Victor’s piercing, frigid looks, his brooding, his catch-me-if-you-can behavior…..
Particularly, his not-so-up-to-par schemes. Victor seems to be focused on Ashland, albeit I do agree with him. At the risk of sounding repetitious, I did say Ashland has an agenda. And, I still think he and Tara were/are working together. I don’t even think he’s sick. “Joie de vivre” my foot. Joy of living? He’s waiting for that joy after he brings the Newmans down. Or so he thinks. I hope Sally partners with him so that they will both sink together.
Ahhhh! Tessa, the busy bee of musical gigs. Mariah is such an endearing character. Why Tessa? Insipid personality.
Mariah is starting to resent Abby—the tension is there—I praise both actresses for having that “je ne sais quoi” skill. If looks could kill. Visitations for Mariah will soon come to an end, as Abby feels inadequate and insecure. If she wants to bond with “Dommy-Bowie” LOL– she should be there for him 24/7,
You bring back not-so-inspiring characters from GH—-except for Britt, of course. Poor Britt—Jason & Carly—Sonny & Nina–Britt & Jax–Sam & Drew ( with Dante as a side dish; or vice versa)—Anna & Valentin—Finn & Lizzie ( gross!!—brothers-in-law should not be tasted). Michael and Willow ( they deserve each other)–It looks like that’s the path of PC’s romances, so far. Nonetheless, looks can be deceiving.
I hope Brook Lynn and Chase will never ever be a thing. I protest!! He deserves Impeccable qualities in a girl—definitely a good, giving and loving heart!! I feel so much better now. Ciao!!

Best news to come out of y n r in awhile!
Still awaiting the even better news once Josh Griffith and Tony Morina get the axe!
Mealor and King shouldve been treated much better during negotioations, cbs and sony are garbage for running y n r the way it has been for the last decade. Budget sets, budget writers, budget music score. Besides the stars theres nothing recognizable about this once glamorous prime time worthy soap.
The only reason fans continue to tune is for the stars like Michael and Hunter, certainly not for stories written by likes of Josh Griffith!
A whole week of a bunch of boring kids like Abby and Devon crying in the once grand home of y n r legend Kay Chancellor…oh how this show has sunk

Well, they do need to wrap things up better than they do for most exiting actors. I’m loathe to see them leave, especially if Faith and Moses are supposed to be the new “hot couple”. And I feel bad for Jack, who looks lonesome already. I hope Michael shows up on GH or DAYS. He’s a real find and can go far.

Soaphound,
They are getting desperate if TPTB are thinking of these boring and very tiresome teens being anything that resembles a “hot couple”.I almost feel sorry for Jack. Am afraid he may be falling into Red’s clutches again. The only good thing would be Nick getting away from her, finally. I hate the idea of Sally and Adam, or Sally and anyone.I was hoping once Tara went down that she’d be close behind, but now this. What will Nicki and Victor say when they see them together. The only couple I like is Victoria and Ashland which could really be exciting if it isn’t just a big hoax or con on his side, which we are hearing and reading from everywhere. As far as Abby’s baby goes, the name Bowie was growing on me, but that’s another whole story.

My gosh, Violet, what is Abby (not) thinking with that catalog of names for the baby? Why not order the KICK ME HARD signs now…by the boatload! And what are we left with — Dom Chancellor? For short, what? Dommy? Dummy? What horrors! I thought “Bowie” could have easily slid into that bizarre panoply of names, but alas, no luck. Then to watch creepy Sally touching Adam’s pretty, perfectly coiffed hair while kissing him… nausea is too soft a word!

You are cracking me up, Soaphound!! Dommy!! Golly Gee—my favorite soap is going down the tubes. —-seems to me the show is written by Kindergartners.
Phyllis!! I love her!! Always did, always will. And, she was the better Nina on GH,s well…( there should be a law against those stomach-churning, revolting, mouth to mouth scenes between her and Sonny).
Michelle Stafford is the best soap actress on TV. Period. LOL.
I am still very confused–who the baby’s parents are? Mariah, Devon, Abby and Chance? All of them will have a hand in rearing him? Dumbest story ever!!
Same goes for Chelsea, who gave birth to Johnny and forgot he exists—The idea that she gave him away and not feel any remorse or love for him goes against every motherly fiber of my being. Not normal—Once a con-artist, always a con artist.

Well, Celia, I agree about Michelle. For me, she and Maura West are the best, since we no longer see Kim Zimmer’s Reva, Elizabeth Hubbard’s delicious Lucinda Walsh, or spectacular Jane Elliott’s Tracy Quartermaine. Oh, I know what you mean about the YUCK factor with Nina and “Mike”. It’s some weird sort of new, all-time soap opera gross-out. He really thinks he’s hot stuff! There’s more heat in an Arctic freezer! And on Y&R, they might as well reserve a courtroom now for the custody fight…when Mariah presents her case for keeping Dom-Bowie, all she needs is to present Abby’s list of names for that poor kid. That should convince a judge that Abby shouldn’t have custody of a hamster!

PS.
Maura West!! One of my favorites, also, Soaphound—definitely en par with Stafford.
Aside—Esme– she said she was adopted. The word sent tiny shocks down my nerve endings. LOL.
Could she be Ava’s or Nina’s? Nelle’s “missing” twin?
I shall bid you adieu for a bit—school starts Thursday in my district—so, a lot of adjusting and changes and settling ahead….
Poor kids still masked!!

Violet, didn’t you LOVE Nikki’s gleeful expression when Phyllis lit into Sally? Priceless! It was worth putting up with sleazo Billy illegally trying to one-up Adam AGAIN. And that “GALA” Launch Party of, what, nine people? Talk about tight budgets.

Soaphound,
OMG, Nicki’s smirky grin was priceless! Answer me this please. Why hasn’t Nicki or anyone else informed Victor of Sally’s involvement in sending Summer away from G.C.? He acts like he knows nothing about what all went on. Boy, Billy never gives up, does he, and why didn’t Nick do anything after catching him with his hands in the cookie jar?

You’ve got me, Violet. Why have they declawed Victor? “It was nice meeting you, Sally”. REALLY? Doesn’t ring true in the slightest. And Nick should have texted Adam ON THE SPOT about Billy’s illegal subterfuge! So much isn’t consistent lately. But, right now, I prefer it to the mob movie that GH has become.

Would be nice to have them back for the wedding and then go back to Italy.

Let’s not forget that Ben “Stitch” Rayburn’s sister was Kelly, the crazy lady who slept with Billy and then found her way into Jack’s bed and was part of the whole doppelgänger storyline. Lots of issues with that genetic DNA code. Fortunately the newest baby, DoMenic, has the DNA from Abby and Devon, or at least we hope!!!

Yes, Margherita, we hope. Yet, methinks there will be trouble down the road. I get this weird suspicion that Mariah is having separation issues. She’s in love with the baby.
That motherly instinct comes with the territory.
I guess I was not following the storyline as well as I should have. Was it Mariah’s egg or Abby’s? Confused.

Never liked their story lines i was glad they were gone they started all the crap with Sally then couldn’t handle it when ahe gave them a dose of their own medicine granted sally is something but Summer started the threats to tell about Sally’s past just because she couldn’t handle a little competition in the business world

I beg to disagree, Cissy. Sally is evil. Thst’s the difference. She came “to be” in GC through nefarious means. As far as I’m concerned, Sally is a fraud. Then, agsin, thst’s just my opinion.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

It’s a milestone we couldn’t let pass by without taking some time to celebrate as a family (and, of course… eating some cake). 🍰 We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.”

WHAT WILL HAPPEN ON THE 16,000th Episode?

The 16,000th episode will feature Jason Morgan returning to the town of Port Charles, Anna and Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) reuniting, and a new surgeon, Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) joining the staff of ‘General Hospital.’
