Hunter King Returns To Y&R On Contract
It’s going to be a long hot summer when Hunter King reprises her role of Summer Newman on CBS’ The Young and the Restless.
The actress, whose primetime comedy series Life in Pieces has been renewed by CBS, is now set for double duty. She will return to her daytime beginnings when she first airs on Monday, June 4th. The news was first reported by TV line. King is a two-time Daytime Emmy winner.
When we last saw King in 2016, the character of Summer took a break from her college studies to travel the world. When she returns, she will waste no time digging in her heels and getting into all sorts of trouble. What will happen when her mother Phyllis, played by Gina Tognoni, finds out Summer is back in Genoa City? Stay tuned.
So, are you excited to hear that King is on her way back to Y&R? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
Not really, happy that Summer character coming back.Never saw a story that showed her talent. But LOVE Hunter on #LifeinPieces
i like Hunter but don’t care for the character of Summer. i hope she’s written better this time
Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?! To me, Y&R was SO MUCH BETTER without her!!!!! A VERY, VERY DUMB MOVE, Y&R!!!!!
I couldn’t agree with you more jaybird. We are probably going to have to gear up for a Kyle SummeTessa triangle, with poor Mariah watching from the sidelines. Time will tell I guess. I don’t know which will be worse, watching the three of them or watching Devon and Hillary giving each other gaga looks about the baby that isn’t even formed yet. Take care
Oh, my goodness, Soapqueenforever….your comment gave me pause. What you say is sooo very possible and probable.
Can you imagine if Jack is, indeed, Victor’s son ( as I have suspected and intimated for a while) ?
What if they end up in bed? They would, actually, be first cousins? Yuck…..nah, I doubt the PTB would go there, would they?
I never took to Summer….but, love the actress.
Hunter slimmed down….she looks beautiful !!
As far as Devon and Hilary….she’s is not the problem. I like her. She deserves the shiniest accolades.
The problem is Devon and this insipid storyline. You are sooooo right, my friend.
I suspect ( for a while now and said so from the onset) that Mishael is pregnant in real life. I noticed a little bump.
So, her pregnancy ( I could be very, very wrong) needed to be written in? Maybe?
Also, Tessa has resurfaced….I know she never left, but , at least, she was securely ensconced in the background.
….Mariah deserves better.
Wondering if Jack and Victor are half brothers.
Jack will have a man crush on Victor lmao.
Hi Celia
Finally figured out this new website! Not sure I like it. But you’re right– Tessa, Mariah and Summer: hmm. Kyle will be thrown to the wolves, which he deserves! The Devon/Hillary thing is still awful– rather see Hillary with Kyle: dynamic troublemakers.
However, Hillary looked spectacular in that pink prom dress!
I think Mishael is one of the most beautiful people on soaps…..and, I don’t just mean physically ( she’s gorgeous), but simply her nonchalant air is very magnetic. She has this unidentifiable, lucent aura about her. Not too many people can own that natural, innate trait.
What arrests the viewer, about Hilary, is that amidst her devil-may-care, outward intractable countenance; she’s a vulnerable, little bird……the most contradictory personality “in motion”. LOL……love her. Devon is not man enough for her.
A woman should be allowed to do, to feel as she may….no restraints…..cultivate her spirit, not cage it. It takes a true man, in every sense of the word, to grace a woman in that respect.
To me, Ron, the Neanderthal type, does not a man make, nor does he prove his mettle.
Devon is no such caveman, I know…..but, criticizing Hilary, which he has done, in the past, can dent the soul, heart and mind, just as negatively, as a blow to the body.
Oh nicely done, Celia. You know who I would like to see Hillary with? Billy Miller’s Billy Abbott. Oh think of the possibilities, the potential.
Yes!!!! Good one, Harry….if only. Billy Miller….That’s a man….well, after my husband, of course. LOL.
I don’t think I’m the only Mishael/Hilary fan who feels Devon is not right for her. He can’t seem to make up his mind….and the writers are using him as one of Geppetto’s puppets. Wooden and boyish.
Yes Celia, Hillary looked gorgeous in that Pink prom dress. A true Goddess.
Lol Hunter King is a terrific actress, she has 2 daytime Emmys on her resume.
Oh well. There goes the GC neighborhood. Dump dull Noah and bring back Melanie from Josie and the Pussycats, the cartoon version. LOL.
I would take Noah any day.
I am not a fan of the Summer character. Quite the opposite and that would be I cannot tolerate Summer.
Nonetheless; IF Summer has grown up and is given an actual meaning for her existence, I’ll give her a chance to wow me .
I’m upchucking at the site of Sharon and Nick- I can’t take any more of them yet to add Summer.
So, that’s all I’ve got 🙂
Yeah, su000, I hear it. Hmmm, Sharon and Nick reconcile while she harbors yet another BIG SECRET that he can self-righteously use as an excuse to leave and/or cheat on her. And Summer? Just another reason to change the remote batteries…gotta have FF readily available.
I had always hoped, Soaphound, that when Sharon and Nick came together again, it would be with a clear heart, mind and soul.
They belong together. They were the young lovers of my innocent tween years. ….know what I mean?
Thus, this ‘scheme’ leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I ask, why? Haven’t they had enough drama? All thanks to stupid Phyllis and her lack of knowledge for the law…well, the writers, actually. They think this stuff could be glossed over and we’ll accept it without question. Hmmm.
Summer—-another WHY???? Where will she fit in?
Did she get along with Sharon? I forgot—bad memory. LOL.
At this point, Nick taking Sharon back does nothing but make him look incredibly stupid. She’s slept with his father, both his half-brothers, his stepfather, and two of his brother-in-laws in addition to burning down his family’s ranch, tampering with Dumber’s paternity results, allowing her children to suffer thinking she was dead when she was really in New Mexico avoiding jail time, keeping Christian from him, and forgave Adam for letting them think Fake was dead when he had actually given her to Ashley. I know it’s a soap but Nick forgiving all of that is just too much…
Not too happy about Summer coming back to roost??…..especially if this is another bout with spoiled brat rich girl. Didn’t we go through this with Abby? Who will it be next? Faith? What a vicious circle.
Victoria seems to have been the only girl who never really got herself into trouble.
Such a vicious circle…..
The writers are revisiting the same old, same old??
Maybe it will be better this time around, Celia? I once detested Abby and now I really like her. I have a hunch they will pair Summer with Kyle but would really like her paired up with Ravi.
I guess, Harry….you’re right; I did not like Abby, now I do.
Let’s all give Summer the benefit of the doubt.
Yes, there could be a story there with Kyle….weren’t they involved before? I believe that was when there were doubts about her paternity, so they broke up?
I hope I’m not confusing this with another storyline….. plots intersect …all of them, from soap to soap, Harry.
Also, as I was saying to soapqueenforever, what if Victor is Jack’s son?!?!
Agree– Abby is easy to like… but this garbage with the construction worker– what gives? WHY this storyline? He’s awful.
Hi, Ron,
I made a complete about face where Arturo is concerned. I thoughe was such a hunk…..No more….after seeing him day after day…..you are right, he’s awful……I can’t put a name to him….uninspirational?
He used Nikki who WANTED to be used….both disgusting.
Yet, I know he ‘took’ to Abby since the first day he laid eyes on her. The writers need to rethink this…..what’s up with his hair?
Arturo lacks the IT factor….too pedestrian.
Funny how Nikki just happens to walk by and catch the nouveau lovers making out.
Nikki looked put-out. Is she for real? What exactly did she expect from a young guy? Complete and utter devotion forevermore?
I know, I talk too much…..
Celia…
1. To me, watching that Arturo dude is like watching that Zack dirtbag (Remember him???) all over again. Beyond yuck.
2. Abby is such an idiot when it comes to men.
3. As for Nikki, she is acting like such a jealous, lust crazed and needy NITWIT!!!!! Washed-up lush.
Have a good one, my friend.
Ha ha ha! Jaybird, every time I see Nikki, she is skulking around the bushes spying on Arturo and Abby–not a flattering look for Mrs Newman. The writing being afforded to Nikki has been rather odd with no build up. And don’t get me started on the idiocy of the JT murder story line.
I agree with you totally. The rich girl and the construction worker, Nikki and the construction worker, yeah that believable?? I don’t care for him. I think bring back Scott for Abby that could have went somewhere.
I want Ravi, to be gay. Have an affair with Kyle.
Where is Ravi ? They brought him back for the flash drive stuff and poof he’s nowhere to be found.Give him some work, a love interest…something.
Oh Celia, say it ain’t so! I can’t bear the actress (though she is competent) and the character was always in some kind of bubbleheaded trouble. We have this repulsive new Kyle already…haven’t we suffered enough?
Victoria not getting into trouble? She was the brattiest and most rebellious of them all: teenage bride of Ryan McNeal’s; refusal to attend college because she was a Newman, which hilariously got her assigned to the mailroom, where she toyed with the emotions of lovesick Brandon while she plotted to break up Ryan and Nina; seducing her mother’s love interest, Cole Howard, knowing very well that Nikki was smitten with Cole; posing nude for an adult magazine, causing Victor to have to buy every copy printed, etc. etc. etc. Summer is a fine legacy character. It’s a soap. Enjoy the ride.
Thank you for the backstory, Scot. I really started getting into Y&R when I was about twelve or so…..around the time Nick and Sharon started dating, albeit I watched with my grandmother, as a toddler. It’s pretty foggy.
I don’t really remember much. However, I thought Victoria was married to Cole and Nikki had an affair with her son-in-law. I guess I’m wrong?
Again, thank you for telling me…..I really thought Victoria was the ‘sedate’ one. LOL. You do paint the perfect picture of the rebellious, poor, little, rich-girl brat.
Cole was a ranch hand (and the son of Victor’s former secretary Eve Howard) who Nikki slept with after Victor was thought killed in a car accident (he was really in Kansas falling in love with Hope). Victoria told Cole she loved him and they were married but then Victor returned after reading of the marriage in the paper and told them they were half-siblings so they got a divorce and then later found out that Cole was not Victor’s son after all so they got remarried. They had a baby daughter who died soon after birth and then Cole had an affair with Ashley while Victoria was out of town. They later divorced and he married Ashley but that marriage ended when Ashley wanted to have children and Cole didn’t.
I thought Summer was over…and its getting too Sonny over GH too…lol
Funny you should bring up Sonny, Jim. Because Sonny was singing “Summer Wind” with his dad at the Nurse’s Ball recently.
Worst. News. Ever! Thought she was gone for good!
Can’t stand Hunter’s version of Summer,
Just what the show needs is a tiresome troublemaker…on or off set!
SZima…EXACTLY!!!!! That Hunter King chick needs to go back to the Life In Pieces set…AND STAY THERE!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO……
I was ok being Summer-less.
Maybe it’ll be just a SUMMER breeze, James.
UGH. We’ll have to endure not only annoying Abby, but, Summer, too? No thanks.
#Michael Muhney!
I second the motion, Timmm. Unlike Kyle, Michael Muhney makes bad boys irresistible.
We need Adam back! He can show Kyle how to play the disgruntled, angry son who hates his father with style!! At least with Adam, we got why he hated Dad, but with Kyle, we don’t get it. Hell, it doesn’t even seem like Kyle gets why he hates his father.
I am lukewarm on Ms. King and Summer Newman. I was not pleased with the SORAS years back and the stories regarding Summer were not exciting. Summer went through that silly paternity question tale, currently recycled among the 50+ set in Genoa City. I know last year’s human trafficking story and teen tales centered on Reed and the suddenly grown twins fizzled. Maybe Summer and her young friends/relatives can generate some excitement this turn.
UGH! Summer is one of the most annoying characters-along with Abby!
Summer’s coming back for Summer? Well, I kind of like her. Her scenes with Mariah were funny and they play off each other really well. I almost derrived the the feeling that those two are friends in real life. I say pair her up with Ravi–please, please, please! I beg the soap gods not to pair her up with that Forever 21 male model, Kyle. But I bet you they WILL pair Summer up with Kyle, a marriage made in hell. Also, Mommy Phyllis and Bad Billy are going to need to move out of Summer’s apartment. Remember, Victor Newman bought that apartment for Summer, not for those two squatters. I say to Summer’s critics– give her a chance, maybe she’s grown up some and therefore, will grow on you. I know, I used to be one of her biggest critics. Speaking of Billy and Phyllis, how I detest those two! Phyllis is draped over Billy like a Lady Macbeth overcoat as he sits at the helm of Jabot. It’s not enough that these two Vulgarians had a torrid, seamy affair with each other behind Jack’s back, now they are scheming together to make Billy the permanent CEO. How many times can Billy and Phyllis screw over Jack? Jack has been screwed over so many times by Phyllis and yet he never got screwed, so to speak. And Ashely is no prize as a sister either. When you factor in Kyle, and his betrayal of Jack, you have to ask yourself, “Y&R, why do you forsake Jack so?” I can only hope that Ashely went insane again, and had those DNA tests tampered with again and Jack really is John Abbott’s first born son.
Replying to self–Self, there is some good news and some bad news about Fairman’s new site. Good news? You can click a negative or positive reaction to someone’s comment. Bad news? There’s no edit feature and I cannot correct my mistakes such as my misspelling of derive above.
HaHaHa…..would you believe, Harry, that I had not noticed the negative/positive clicky-thingy until you brought it to the fore?
hi Harry..
I disagree 🙂
the click a negative or positive; the reaction to someone’s comment can cause hurt feeling or some such thing if a person’s posts get a thumb down and might even discourage one from posting..
even facebook wouldn’t go there..
(( desperately need an edit button, I don’t want to look stupid ahaaa!
HA! SUOO–I thought of that and almost toyed with the idea of giving you a negative score as a joke. But then I thought better of it. I hope folks give me a negative score because I will have so much fun screaming,”HEY, who gave me a negative score? Speak now, or forever hold your peace!!” The very idea just cracks me up and now that I have said so, I look forward to numerous negative signs on every post I write. Now Celia, I liked what you wrote and therefore, gave you a plus sign. Sometimes I just want to tell folks I like what they posted without writing a response which rivals “War and Peace” as far as length is concerned.
Thank you, sir Harry!!
The old site had an edit button?— you mean for all those years I let my mistakes shine for all to see—who knew– LOL
No, Mary–sorry for the confusion. No edit button on the old site either. I just need to slow the heck down before I post. My mistakes are giving me wrinkles from wincing so much.
Did you watch the show in the 80’s? Jack was a cad. He’s softened over the years. Let’s not forget that Jack used his marriage to virtuous Patty only for John to take him seriously enough to let Jack run Jabot. He slept with Diane on his wedding day to Patty! He’s the one who pushed Patty over the edge. He’s also the same man who had an affair with Jill when she was married to John the first time. He’s also the same Jack who blackmailed Ashley when he learned that Brent Davis was her biological father. Ashley had her first breakdown because of that drama. There’s more, much more. Jack is on the short end of the stick because of karma. That’s why people who don’t know the show’s history are oversympathetic to an unsympathetic character. Kyle as written now is very much like Jacky was in the 80’s. I think it would be hilarious if Brent were Jack’s father and if Ashley were John’s. They didn’t have the same paternity tests back in the day, unless I’m mistaken. That would be a story come full circle because Jack would have to face the damage he’s caused for Ashley and for Tracy. Remember that deranged Patty came back to town to get Jack back, and Colleen was killed. I think it’s important to understand that Victor may be a sadistic and ruthless, controlling man; BUT Jack was once the villain of the show, and he did many many terrible deeds, and Victor hates him for many reasons.
Yes. That I knew, Scot…..my grandmother schooled me on Jack. She never liked him and it rubbed off on me. She told me all about Patty and the Williams’ history—-about “Jack and Diane”…. and John Cougar Meloncamp’s song playing while Jack was cheating on Patty while married to her..
I am not sympathetic towards Jack….he did a lot of terrible stuff. My grandmother watched since day one. I was born fourteen years later, LOL…. I thought I knew everthing there was to know, except for Victoria. I was so into Nick and Sharon and her mother Doris ( in a wheel chair), everyone else fell short.
I did not like Nikki much—-I lost count how many affairs she’s had—- and still at it, LOL.
I, also, know she had a sister who was a doctor?… can’t remember her name.
Y&R still is my favorite show…..
Celia…check it out: Nikki’s sister’s name is Casey Reed. And trust me…Casey has always been WAY MORE MATURE than Nikki…PERIOD!!!!!
Later, my friend.
Thank you, Jay….I don’t remember her, but my grandmother always remarks on how different the sisters were.
Nikki was a piece of work, I gathered.
I hope I am not affronting anyone….but, Victor and she exchanging mouth fluids made me gag. I just finished watching—after an exhausting loooog week-end.
Ciao, my friend.
Scot, you make good points but the death of Colleen, Traci’s daughter, was Victor’s fault, certainly not Jack’s. Victor sprung Patty from the high security mental asylum for the criminally insane so she could reek havoc in Jack’s life. Jack has evolved since the days he was ole Smiling Jack big time while Victor has remained the same darkly sinister and shadowy character.
True, Harry….I do follow your sagacious writing…..but, in a way, Scot has a point. Jack drove Patty batty. He was a real lascivious mother ________. He acted like an animal—well, worse, since animals ‘kill’ and plunder ( jack plundered Patty’s body and killed her spirit) for food, and attack for self-preservation. What is a human’s excuse—kill and massacre people for sport?
This is why I think Dina did the hanky-panky with Victor—-the issue from that affair is Victor’s replica: Jack.
Yes, you are right; Victor did unleash Patty on the world, making Colleen a victim and a fatality. But, Jack put her there.
Two peas in a malignant pod.
Celia, it is so rare now days where I can make the following statement–Bad Jack, as played by Terry Lester, is before my time. Oh sure, as a latch key kid I saw ole smiling Jack committing some devilish crime. He really was a cad. Even back then, Jack seemed to have a conscience, and paid dearly for his crimes. But by the time I came of age it was Peter Bergman’s Jack with whom I became acquainted. Maybe I am biased because I know for a fact that Peter Bergman is a dear sweet man. I think the actor interjects that goodness into his role as Jack. Sure, Jack of today is deeply conflicted and flawed but he always seems to be trying to err on the side of goodness. I am always on Jack’s side these days. Yes, that stupid blood Abbot clause was the karma which bit him but Ashely kind of pushed him into a corner at the time he utilized the clause which backed him into a corner. As I have said time and time again, with family like the Abbotts, who needs enemies? Traci is the only decent one in the lot of em.
Oh, goodie an annoying character and an annoying actress returning. One can only hope both have grown in their absence.
Off topic… but I was always under the impression that Tracy was the oldest Abbott child. She certainly has been the most mature. They need to put Beth Maitland on contract. It would have been a great story to have her oppose Billy as Jabot CEO (yes, I know she has never really been involved in the company but rather than just default to the male Abbott it would have added something to the story)
I’m pretty sure it’s Jack….he looks it. Then it’s Ashley; then Traci.
I like yourvidea of Traci being front-and-center, Chaz….but, at this point, we can’t be sure she’s an Abbott either.
Dina may still hold a bunch of secrets stashed somewhere in the recesses of her mind.
You know, a few weeks ago, Phyllis made a comment about Nick being Victoria’s older brother. According to my grandmother, and if I am not mistaken, Victoria is the eldest.
Hello Celis, You are correct. Victoria is the eldest.
I hate spellcheck! I wrote Celia! Sorry about that!
Oh, Lew, my friend….I did not even notice. Plus, I would think nothing of it. Do you read my stuff? I butcher some names and words, in general. Typos, not spelling mistakes. ❤️
Worst Y&R news I’ve heard all week. I do not like the character or actress. A recast would’ve been a better option, since a new actress could’ve been more talented and able to show other sides of Summer. Hunter King is a one note actress.
Personally I’d rather skip Summer and go straight to Fall. We have enough spoiled rich girls in GC already.
Soaphound…good one…lol. And so TOTALLY TRUE!!!!!
No, do not want her back. Having Summer return is ok but not with the same actress. She is not a good actress and doesn’t fit well with the other actors. Hope if the character is important to the story they find someone else to play the part, otherwise don’t bother
This does not make me happy! I am really enjoying Y&R right now and there is no need to bring Summer back. Do not care for the character.
Frankly it is a missed opportunity to recast, the character has been off screen for 2 years and most of us have or would like to have forgotten Ms.King’s version of the character. It was the perfect time to update Summer to make her more hip- sorry showing my age, but that is what the daughter of Phyllis should be— a real fireball, and HK version wasn’t. And if they are revisiting the Summer/Kyle pairing–with this annoying new Kyle–it will be like nails on a chalkboard to watch
I actually would have preferred a recast too, Mary. As I have said many times before, would it not have been lovely to have a British actress as a recast? Viewers would believe that Summer had spent so much time in the UK that she returned with a British accent. Then Summer could be paired up with Ravi in an East meets West kind of romance. (Think EM Forester.) I just love the idea of it which is probably why it cannot happen.
First time seeing the new site. It’s sometimes difficult to separate the storylines from the actors, although not always.
For me I have seen too much DNA testing recently. I won’t find it pleasing if Jack is not John’s son. Yes he, indeed, was a scoundrel some time ago. However those unforgivable scenes when the writers kept Jack tied to a bed, tortured, and more abhorrent thing allows me to forgive a great deal of those past shenanigans. In fact, I recall a time when Terry Lester remained quite celibate and rather mundane for a significant period of time. However, I bow to Scot and others with their amazing recollections.
Summer–I don’t remember much, but am a bit bored right now with the crazy JT storyline. Should Jack be Victor’s son; far too much silly stuff going on at one time.
Don’t have the feel for how to write here. Best to all!
My money is on Jack and Victor being half brothers.
Hi, Helen,
How are you?? Hmmmm. That is such an interesting idea. Victor and Jack brothers!!!! Victor did know who his father was. I remember him on his death-bed ( George Pappard). It would have been such a twist to the plot had his father spat it out, at the time to clear his soul, per se.
It makes great sense for Albert to have had an affair with Dina. I like that premise even better than mine; that is, Jack as Victor’s son.
Sorry: that should read, George Kennedy, not Pappard.
Y&R continues to be a plot driven mess and the news of Summer’s return is anything but good news. There are no absolutely no stories for the actors already on this show so we bring on another character? In the place of real storytelling all we have this…
~ Devon planning a nursery. Where — the GCAC dining room or the Hamilton-Winters Group offices? Neither he nor Hilary have an apartment set that we’ve seen in months. For a couple the show seems so committed to pushing it is ridiculous that we never see them anywhere but work and the club dining room.
~ Nick and Sharon getting back together. Considering that Sharon has slept with Nick’s father, both his half-brothers Adam and Dylan, his step-father Jack, and his brother-in-laws Billy and Brad in addition to burning down the family ranch, letting her family think she was dead while she hid out in New Mexico with Sam the veterinarian, switching Summer’s DNA results, keeping Christian from him for months, and her decades long history of ignoring her wheelchair bound mother this does nothing but make family man Nick look like a big sexy doofus.
~ Abby 3.0 whining about being third in line for the job as Newman CEO and flirting with her stepmother’s sidepiece. Either recast the role with Bree Williamson (who I would totally buy as being the offspring of Victor and Ashley) or send the character back to France to run the Brash & Sassy offices there.
~ Charlie going to prom with a girl who’s made MAYBE a dozen appearances.
~ Speaking of Charlie, when Abby was interviewing Dina the camera was positioned in front of Abby and aimed squarely at Dina’s face, yet at the premiere of Dina’s “movie” there were camera angles from every side and close-ups of her wringing her hands. Do you really think we don’t notice this, Y&R?
~ Jack’s “paternity scare.” This is a bust because it’s pretty clear that it will be revealed that Jill slept with that guy in the diner back in the day when she was trying to get pregnant to hold onto John Abbott and Billy is not really John’s son. For a savvy businessman I can’t understand why Jack didn’t have tests run comparing both Billy and Tracy to his own DNA. (I also don’t understand why a recovering addict kept his old dealer’s number in his cellie either…)
~ Emmy Award winning Eileen Davidson reduced to showing Dina to her room and discussing Jack’s paternity with her boring daughter. Seriously? Eileen needs to go back to DAYS where her talents will be put front and center.
~ In addition to wasting Eileen Davidson’s talents, the show also keeps squandering Camryn Grimes’ talents by using Mariah as a coffee drinking lesbian Greek chorus who spends her time commenting on everyone else’s relationships.
~ Billy and Phyllis continuing to shack up with all the chemistry of peanut butter and mayonnaise. (And has Gina Tognoni’s Phyllis EVER had a moment where she wasn’t angry or bitter?) Oh wait — I forgot about that game changing story development where Billy decided to install a glass wall in his office and brought in a popcorn machine for the Jabot employees. I’m sure the repurcussions from that is going to pay off in spades in the weeks to come. *sigh*
~ The complete absence of romance in Genoa City.
Get it together, Y&R!
WOW, Alan, when you but it tat way….LOL.
Sharon has been around the block as many times as Nikki.
Sleeping with her btothers-in-law ( ex or otherwise) is one thing….sleeping with her ex father-in-law is another.
Yet, isn’t this the route every male and female character takes on soaps????
Ahhhh….if only ( at least) one of them could be as virtuous as I….ahhh sigh!! LOL.
She didn’t just sleep with Victor – she married him! LOL
HaHa and PS, Alan.
Too funny. Hey, Jill slept with Jack. Billy could be Jack’s son. “Comedy of errors”!!
Summer returning is the BEST NEWS I’ve heard about the Show in a long time. Hunter is not only a very talented 2 time Emmy Award winner, I admire the way she stood up to that actor who was sexually harassing her a few years ago. ALL the Cast supported her in doing so. BRAVO Y&R. Bring on a Long HOT Summer!
emmys bought and paid for by jfp
Booooo!!!!!!. Awards can be bought and paid for every time I see her on The Young and the Restless I don’t see Talent at all all I see is a spoiled little rich girl who used to date a married man and now is trying to get with her mom’s boyfriend there’s nothing talented about that
This decision leaves a bad taste in my mouth not a fan anyway I love how everybody brings up Sharon’s past you might want to check out that Phyllis was never a angel
I wish Hunter King would return to Life In Pieces soon.
Days Of Our Lives
‘Brilliant Minds’ Officially Canceled After 2 Seasons at NBC; DAYS Alum Al Calderon, OLTL Alum Teddy Sears and Zachary Quinto Among the Cast
After languishing on the bubble for months, on Friday, NBC handed down the decision and canceled the medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons.
Brilliant Minds stars Zachary Quinto as neurology physician Oliver Wolf, who’s character and the series is inspired by the life and books of neurologist. Oliver Sacks. The series focuses on the medical mysteries of the mind, as Wolf a larger-than-life neurologist and his team of interns explore the last great frontier, the human mind, while grappling with their own relationships and mental health.
The final six episodes of what will now be the end of its second and final season were already set to air beginning on May 27, after being pulled off the network schedule in February as viewership saw a steep decline. Brilliant Minds second season became the lowest-rated drama on linear TV viewing, which didn’t bode well fo a network renewal, although it had its hard core fan base.

There are some exceptional notables in the cast along with the talented Quinto that includes Days of Our Lives alum, Al Calderon (ex-Javi Hernandez) who joined the series in its second season as Nurse Nico Silva, and One Life to Live alum, Teddy Sears (ex-Chad Bennett) who plays Wolf’s love interest and fellow physician, Dr. Josh Nichols.
The rest of the talented cast includes: Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, and Brian Altemus.
In an ironic twist of fate on Thursday, April 30, Days of Our Lives finally revealed the actor who was Al Calderon’s successor in the role of Javi, when they announced that actor Jacob Martinez had now stepped into the role. Since DAYS tapes ten months ahead of streaming new episode, Calderon left in the spring of 2025, but will be seen in the part for the final part this month, and then on June 20, Martinez debuts as Salem’s new Javi.
Taking to his Instagram with a sorrowful and heartfelt post on the Brilliant Minds cancellation was Teddy Sears who wrote, “Thank you, Brilliant Minds. I got the call today and I didn’t want to hear, but I knew that it would come, You have to be a particular vintage to quote Don Henley from memory, but that’s the line that came to mind earlier today after I got off the phone with our inimitable showrunner Michael Grassi who delivered the news that NBC has cancelled the series”.

Photo: NBC
Sears continued, “To say that I feel sad to be moving on from these stories, this character, and this cast and crew just doesn’t paint the entire picture. I’m sad, sure. But I’m also deeply grateful that I got hired to play this part, so proud of the stories we told, and the other actors I got to play alongside. I’m excited to see what comes next, what adventures await, and terrified to be without a professional home. Taking to his Instagram to celebrate the nominations, GH’s Bennett, enthused, “3 Critic Choice Nominations! I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. Not bad for a little show on Hallmark Channel. What are your thoughts on our show?” Jumping first into the comment thread was one of his new GH co-stars, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) who expressed, “Yeah buddy!!!🔥🔥”
In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). Along the way, they develop their skills and a bond with one another. The show, which is available on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Plus, highlights LGBTQ+ representation with openly gay contestants vying to be the next Hallmark star.
It should be noted that Traitors received the most Critics Choice Real TV Award nominations with 6 nods, followed by Dancing with the Stars with 4.
Bennett is very familiar to daytime fans having started his career as JR Chandler on All My Children in 2000-2001, before landing the part of Aaron Samuels in the motion picture, Mean Girls in 2004 starring Lindsay Lohan, which would become his breakout performance.

‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?
On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.
As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.
Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.
BROTHERLY LOVE?
Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”
With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”
BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE
Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”
So, who do you think will be the person to blow Cassius’ cover? Will it be Britt herself? Josslyn? Liesl? Brennan? Nina? Lulu? Rocco, Maxie, Cullum or someone else? Let us know your pick in the comment section.
