Ingo Rademacher Announces His Departure From The Bold and the Beautiful

Photo: JPI Studios

Fan favorite, Ingo Rademacher took to his Instagram on Saturday to deliver the news in his own words that he is finishing up his run as Thorne Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, because he has decided not to renew his contract.

Rademacher, who became soap-famous as Jasper “Jax” Jacks on General Hospital had taken over the role of Thorne in 2017, when Winsor Harmon was replaced.

The actor, who has been in Hawaii with his family, says he will be back in the New Year to finish up his final episodes at B&B before he departs.

Ingo’s Instagram message read: “My Bold and Beautiful status. It is true what you are hearing and I think it’s time to set the record straight. I have decided to not continue with my contract on The Bold and The Beautiful and I’ll be finishing up my last episodes in January.  I want to thank Brad Bell (we’ve been communicating) the entire show and cast (truly awesome people) and also CBS for a fun year of playing Thorne.  We are parting on good terms and with the possibility of a return.  We shall see what the new year brings.  Yes I have been in Hawaii for the last 2 month with my family working on my property and will continue to stay here throughout January but then it’s back to LA.”

So, what do you think about Ingo’s exit from B&B?  Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Back to LA, huh Ingo?

Could that mean that a return to GH is on the way?

I know he wasn’t a big fan of the regime when he left the last time, but I believe that was more due to ReRon’s horrible writing, just as it was with Steve Burton (who has since returned), Tony Geary, and other long time GH vets who walked away before they finally canned that hack writer.

Not sure if he gets along with Frank Valentini – the other half of the trainwreck that hit Port Charles in 2012 – or not. But if he’s back in LA, it must be for work, and I don’t see him turning up on Days as long as ReRon is writing.

One thing I do NOT want to see is another Sonny/Carly/Jax triangle.

I doubt he will return to GH…as Jax is not a serial killer. The show is currently SO top heavy with serial killers. They have Ryan, Franco, Sonny, and Jason. Four serial killers on any canvas makes for a dark, depressing show. Ava has had sex with three of them…including another serial killer, Paul Hornsby. This show really needs to get OFF of redeeming multiple murderers. Its not interesting, it is in no way even close to realistic that any town would have THAT many killers running around loose. Its not entertainment…it is disturbing.

Sonny & Jason are NOT serial killers. They are mobsters. While murder occasionally happens in the mob world, they don’t kill simply for the sake of killing, don’t take pleasure in it (as Ryan obviously does) or think of it as some twisted form of “art” (as orignal Franco did – Frodd is a pathetic substitute for him, but that’s a whole other argument.)

Sure you could make an argument that “murder is murder”. But neither Jason or Sonny ever killed somebody that wasn’t a threat to themselves, their families, or their business. That doesn’t fit the definition of a serial killer.

Ava and Liesel or NO better than Sonny and Jason!

No matter who played Thorne, it seems like that he (Thorne) never is a permanent fixture of the show…so who will Katie pair up with next? There never is any long time story except for a select few and we all know who I am referring to…

Even though I long ago gave up on “B&B,” I must note that the only Thorne that ever really rang true for me was Jeff Trachta’s version. At least he was not one-dimensional and displayed an entire range of emotions….plus, how he could sing! (Then again, I admit I was already partial to the actor based upon his “Hunter Beldon” character on “Loving!”) Having said that, the original Thorne, aka Clayton Norcross, was oh, soooo easy on the eyes!!! But the poor guy couldn’t act his way out of a paper bag… such a pity!

Saw this from a mile away. He never did seem like a good fit. But I wish him the best of luck.

Just as long as he doesn’t return to GH. It’ll mean more Sonny and Carly stories, probably including Brenda. Now THAT could make me a full-time fast forwarder! Also, it must be nice to just decide to “not renew my contract” when so many people are clamoring for work. I’ve never been fortunate enough to make that decision.

He was always a better fit with Carly. They show to damn much of Sonny and Carla. I am sick of them. They need to bring Jax back.

Hmm I wonder if he’ll come back to GH again ? It looks like Sonny is going to slip off the fidelity wagon – so maybe Jax will come back to pick up the pieces.

General Hospital EP Frank V. this is your Q to get JAX back on the show.
Carly & Jax were always better suited
for each other…than Sonny & Carly.. shake it up!

I agree. Love Jax.

Hopefully he will come back to GH.

Violet…I’m with you on this. Loved him on GH, especially his early days on the show…humor and romance…later standing up to Sonny (but I’m not interested in seeing Brenda back, or picking up again with Carly, but Josh could use her Dad there full time..before writers turned to the darkside making a diet of sad, serial killers, dreary stories. And even the more violent ones that included Jax’s brother and Helena/Cassadines didn’t seem as gruesome and so sick, but also had a sense of mystery. And maybe it’s because there is now so much of this in the news. But I don’t like so much in my soaps. Even JT on Y&R, while outliving it’s time, has a bit of “humor” because it is so outlandish, and there’s the unholy alliance of ladies who mostly don’t like each other.

Ingo really never captured my heart. Is there going to be a Katie/Brooke showdown for Stallion dollar bill?

talents were so wasted as thorne the show writes for 6 characters and someone inform me when hope is leaving because i am about to tune out

I’m with you. She’s another one who brings nothing to the show and her being pregnant is nauseating. You would think no woman ever had a kid before her

And i thought Ingo did a good job playing Thorne. I wonder if they’ll recast or rest the character for a little while.

Again!!!!! He comes and goes with the seasons

I am not surprised. He wasn’t properly utilized. That’s the problem with B&B, they hire established actors and do nothing with them. All the best to him!

Boy do I agree. A waste of his talents. I thought this will be great and they gave him nothing. Sad to lose him. Wonder how they will write him off for poor Katie! B&B you gotta wise up throwing cast members down the tubes!

I wish him luck in his future..he will be.miss..good luck

Wishing Jax was back in Port Charles!

He didnt suit that role anyways, he didnt bring much to the show, boring actually

When is he coming back to GH?!

I only started watching B&B because of Ingo. I never had an interest in the show. However l couldn’t connect with him as Thorne l loved him to much as Jax. Thorne with Katie l saw no chemistry. Not sure if l will continue to watch know that hes leaving. They won’t use Aaron D. Spears much, l give up there. I love Don,but one man can’t always run the show. Sick of Hope and Brook with Steffy talking about Kelly and Hopes child and Liam being spineless. One Ingo exit will remove it from my DVR unless l see something with Aaron Spears.

The role bored him to quitting.

I’m not surprised. Maybe he hated the way his character was written as much as I did. The God’s honest truth is that I DVR the show and then fast forward to the very last segment as that is where anything that will actually advance story happens. The remainder of the show consists of endlessly repeated dialogue, retreaded scenes, flashback montages, establishing shots and the same 6 characters. The only question is whether the show will bother to explain Thorne’s absence or if he will just disappear one day and wind up wherever Sheila, RJ, Coco, and others are now.

He added nothing to the soap, and it was horrible how they replaced Winsor Harmon. I will not be sad to see him go.

NOT one thing was said about Thorne and/or Ingo during “his” one year tenure

so be it

NOT one thing.. be it in SOD or on this site

He’s gone

the only thing that was…. Windsor Harmon personal plight

who could possibly bring back the memory of ^^^ his last visit @GH .. watching Ingo flounder around in bed with laura wright as she smothered him… lastly burying any thing good between them. what magic Carly ever had… ended in 2012 when @GH fired Ingo.

I doubt Winsor will be asked to return. He seems to have some issues he needs to take care of. They didn’t give Thorne much of a storyline. So now what? Thorne and Katie are married. Will he be relegated to the basement now, never seen and just mentioned in passing?

Why is it B&B cannot find something wonderful to do with the Thorne character? He and Macy were a wonderful storyline. Then circumstances and choices decimated everything Thorne ever was able to build for himself. I do not find Ridge a hero in any way. Thorne had the more interesting story arcs.

Everyone is probably excited he may return to GH. Well, IF its full time YES! If its a stunt, FORGET it! I could see Sonny fall for Margo and Carly would be free to be with Jax if she can release herself from Jason! Joss would love to have her mom and dad back together!

So sorry to see him go. I liked him and I loved him with Katie. Why are all these people coming and going so fast. They need to get rid of the ones who do nothing in or for the show. Dump Zoe and her father. Neither of them is attractive in any way shape or form and bring nothing to the show….then again maybe her father will take Taylor far far away and we won’t have to see either one of them again.

I also think Liam should just live with both the women and they can be sister wives.

He did the same thing to General Hospital. I saw his movie over the Christmas season on ION TV with a few other soap stars from ABC and it was OK. Perhaps he wants to make TV movies since they won’t tie him down

did any one catch : Lifetime w/Laura Wright ? ratings for cable that night : “stalked by my patient ”

her show was rated #117 out of #150 shows that night.

??? I hope this is indicative of her “want” to STAR in graveyard Lifetime movies, forever more. Yawn

Kind of hard for fans to really develop anything for his version of Thorne, when the whole show revolves around Hope/Liam/Steffy……and Brooke’s need to try and insert herself in every situation. I haven’t watched in a while cause I got sick of the never-ending love triangle. B&B needs to hit the reset button and start telling stories that involve the other characters on the show. This show is so one dimensional!

I’m not sure of the reaction for this, and it has already been addressed on the B&B Wiki, but I’m really led to believe that B&B is an awful place of employment. I’m not discrediting any of the staff as I have great relationships with a lot of them, but I’m aware of Ronn Moss’ and Susan Flannery’s “real” reason for departure from B&B, and it was due to working for Bradley Bell creating a “toxic work environment”.

If you listen to Ronn explaining this in one of his live shows, you will also see that Ronn has explained more than one story about his departure – to most media, he states that he left due to what appeared to be an epiphany after a car accident, whereas in this particular interview (and a lot of hinting through interviews in the Australian magazines TVSoap and TV Week) he expresses his disgust at the work environment and poor morale, and revealed that Susan Flannery considered his claims and felt the same way.

Ingo spoke of a “mutual agreement” between himself and Brad, which apparently resulted in him leaving, so possibly that could mean for the same thing, and that a “return to LA” could be a few guest appearances on B&B and a full return as Jax on GH. Also, remember how Pierson Fode decided to abruptly leave B&B days after Rome Flynn did? Seems familiar, doesn’t it?

Again – this is just a fan observation, nothing more.
