As Ingo Rademacher is deep into dance rehearsals with his partner, Kym Johnson as one of the competing teams for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, premiering on March 18th on ABC, EXTRA dropped by the dance studio to catch up with Australian heartthrob.  During their conversation, EXTRA got some scoop on the announcement that he and long time on-screen scene partner, Vanessa Marcil are headed back to Port Charles with a small story arc as Jax and Brenda!

Ingo revealed on his GH return: “I had to keep it a secret for so long… I had to lie.  It’s a nice little come back with Vanessa Marcil… the Jax and Brenda characters back together for a little bit.  It was a great idea to bring the characters back for the 50th.”    Rademacher also noted that he is already back this week at GH taping scenes with Marcil!

Now on to Dancing with the Stars,  of course Ingo related that he asked long time GH cast mate Kelly Monaco (Sam) for advice when it comes to tips for the ABC ballroom dance competition, and he says Kelly gave him tidbit, “It’s really hard, but you’re going to love it.”

So soap fans, will you be rooting Ingo through each week on Dancing with the Stars? What do you think Jax and Brenda’s story will be when they return to GH for a visit? Weigh-in! Now watch Ingo’s EXTRA segment after the jump!

Maybe theyll be married? But would Sonny or Carly care or not? I just wonder how theyll react if Jax and Brenda were married even if Sonny and Carly have moved on.

I am psyched to have them both return! Looking forward to seeing what team Cartini can do for Brenda, since the last regime made her unrecognizable.

As for DWTS, I will watch his dances the next day on YouTube and will be voting for him!

Not watching or voting for DWTS.If it wasn’t for GH I’d never turn on ABC anymore.Wouldn’t surprise me if they eventually hand GH over to PP to.Anne Sweeney made it clear she didn’t want any daytime scripted shows.Looks like they adding more reality to night time to.If you vote you make money for ABC.

am hoping that Ingo wants a CarJax reunion because as we all know it CarJax and S&B are the loves of each others lives. It’s that simple. I don’t want Jax to be with Brenda coz she has always treated him like a second hand fiddle whenever she could not have Sonny. And she’s always remember to try and turn Sonny’s life upside down when he’s starting to move on. Actually you know what? Here’s a solution……. Sonny and Connie or Kate or whoever were each other’s first loves. Carly is the love of Jax’s life and we’ve all witnessed… Read more »

Definitely rooting for him; only one I’m tuning in for this season. DWTS is a spectacular entertainment show..one of my absolute favorites. But for me, personally, the “celebrities” this upcoming season, other than Ingo, is a letdown.

Being on J&B. Sonny’s gone back to his first love, best love – Kaconnie. Carly’s going back to Original Baby Daddy, AJ. And Jax back to his real love, Brenda.

They should bring Jax on full time. I wouldn’t watch a show because someone from Dancing With The Stars was on but it would remind most GH viewers who are casual viewers, who tune in now and then, to switch channels if they aren’t busy, or dvr it.

Not a Jax fan at all. I read he is very short term. I hope that is correct. Brenda I used to love. Last time she was on I couldn’t wait for her to leave. Maybe the new writer’s will write her a little more likeable but I hope every guy on the show doesn’t fall at her feet like the last time. It was sickening. I hate those thick black glasses she wears. I hope she puts in her contacts. I wear glasses so I am not anti glasses. I just don’t like the ones she wears on her.… Read more »

I love Ingo and have missed him on GH so much. I just wished he could be paired with someone who really, really loves him,. I think they are going full steam ahead with Carly and Todd, so Carly is out. They will most likely dangle Sonny into Brenda’s life so it’s hard to get into that one too. Actually, I would love to see Jax with Alexis or someone totally new. Just as long as there isn’t another man always waiting in the background. This is what has turned me off of Carly and Brenda. There will always be… Read more »

49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards: General Hospital, B&B’s John McCook and Y&R’s Mishael Morgan Take Top Honors

Friday night, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ (NATAS) 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards were handed out in 15 categories on a live telecast on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.  When the dust settled, it was ABC’s General Hospital who took the night’s top prize for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series.

This marks GH’s continued record-breaking number of wins in this category and brings it up to 15 victories for the iconic show, which is currently in its 59th year on the air.  GH’s executive producer, Frank Valentini accepted the award on behalf of everyone connected with the show, when Drew Barrymore presented the final award of the night.

The night also brought with it the historic win of The Young and the Restless’ Mishael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair). The actress became the first black actress in Daytime Emmy history to ever take home the Lead Actress Daytime Emmy.  In the emotional highpoint of the evening, in terms of acceptance speeches and significance, Morgan spoke to the current generation breaking glass ceilings.

Morgan expressed: “We are breaking glass ceilings left right and center and I am so honored to be a vessel and to experience this moment. Everybody out there today, we can do this thing called equality and unity together.”  In her speech, Mishael shared: “I was born on a tiny island in the Caribbean, and I’m now standing on an international stage and I am being honored regardless of the color of my skin, regardless of my passport, for being the best at what I do, Now there are little girls around the world and no matter what the industry, the vocation they can strive to be the best.”

Veteran actor, John McCook who has played Eric Forrrester on The Bold and the Beautiful for over 35 years, finally won his first ever Emmy after four previous nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

The Supporting Actor and Actress in a Drama Series trophies went to two standouts from General Hospital, Kelly Thiebaud (Britt) and Jeff Kober (Cyrus), while Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer), added another mantle to the GH trophy case with his first win for Outstanding Younger Performer.

Days of our Lives writing team led by Ron Carlivati took home the gold for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series, while GH won for Direction.

The biggest winner in terms of total gold belonged to The Kelly Clarkson Show. When all was said and done, between the Creative Arts ceremonies held last weekend, and last night, the talk show took home 7 awards including: Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show and Talk Show Host. General Hospital followed with five total wins for Daytime Emmys 2022.

The ceremonies featured DAYS Suzanne Rogers (Maggie) anchoring the Lifetime Achievement Award presentation to her longtime co-star John Aniston (Victor), who was not present, with the help of John’s daughter, Jennifer Aniston, who was seen on tape.

Susan Lucci (Ex-Erica, All My Children) made her first public appearance since the passing of her beloved husband, Helmut Huber and introduced the In Memoriam segment.  Grammy-winner Michael Bolton performed his classic tune “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” during the tribute.

Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner were the hosts for the telecast, and with the overturning of the Supreme Court Roe vs. Wade decision on everyone’s mind last night, Turner gave a nod to how she and so many others felt, when Frazier told her how nice she looked in her dress. Nishcelle commented, “I chose this dress. It was my choice.”  That moment received huge applause from the audience in attendance.

Check out the full winners circle list from last night’s 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards below.
