Ingo Rademacher tweets about new GH chiefs taking over Port Charles!

Ingo Rademacher (Jasper Jax) took to twitter this weekend to let his thoughts be known about the new General Hospital creative regime of Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati coming in and making some adjustments to Port Charles.
Ingo tweeted, “It seems like the new show should b called “one hospital to kill” oops to late … I tweeted that. I’ll take the blame. Just kidding 🙂 Not.” He then later tweeted back to a fan to clarify by stating, “I have nothing against the actors from OLTL. Why would you think that. I’m generalizing on a show. Not cast.”
With four actors from OLTL coming over to GH, (whether it be short or long term), new GH head writer Ron Carlivati stated in our recent interview with him, “This is meant to help enhance the show not take anything away from GH. It is a wonderful show and I would not be going there to write it, if I didn’t think so. It is a story and it is about weaving some of these people into Port Charles. First and foremost, it is about the people of Port Charles, and I will talk more about that when the time comes. I just want to say to everybody that may have concerns, that it’s all going to be good.“
What do you think about Ingo’s tweets? Are you concerned about how GH will look and feel when the new episodes air under Frank and Ron? Or, can you just wait and see how it all unfolds and be optimistic, since the show desperately needs a fresh perspective? Let us know!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.

Ingo isn’t on contract there anymore and, though I’m sure he is still in contact with those who are, he might not be the best source as to what is going on.
I read that the new team wants to bring GH back to its glory years. That involves the hospital too.
I will wait and see what goes on. The show is really choppy right now, but I like that things are wrapping up and the new writing will be airing soon.
really gh will be a better soap with the writers from oltl they are excellent….and gh should be honored to have 4 fantastic people from oltl trust the oltl fans we want our soaps back…..soon the gh fans will be in the same spot as we are if rumors are true..then what???
Agreed!!! Being Honored GH.. just be Honored. Your whole Mob hositpal has been horriable for the last 10 years. If Ron and Frank can return this show to its roots, I will watch again.
So true! OLTL was the best soap on T.V.! I really miss it!
Me thinks he objects too much. Could he be upset that the “new bosses” do not want to have him return? I myself am fine with that. I for one, am anxious too see what is in store for a show that I have watched since April 1, 1963.
Ingo tends to get a little tipsy when he tweets.
Can it “look and feel” any worse than it does at the moment? It’s practically unwatchable now, how could it be worse! Hope GH fans – and cast – give the new regime a chance before condemning them.
That’s true, Carol, but you forget one thing: we all said the same thing when Guza got fired.
As I said, I hope people will wait and see before condemning.
Your right, we did have the utmost faith of Garin Wolf turning things around. However, the most important aspect you’ve forgotten was that he was working under hatchet lady Jill Farren Phelps. Everyone condemns the writers but Phelps was instrumental in allowing GH to be fundamentally destroyed under HER watch. When Guza wrote for GH under former EP Wendy Riche, the show was superb. Every soap Phelps touched, be it GH, OLTL, GL, SB, and Another World have been cancelled or were so decimated by her decisions, they took years to recover if that. I hope having The Revulsion tanking in the ratings will bide GH some much deserved time to prove it’s worth saving.
Ingo is another word for EGO. GH is scrambling for survival and Ingo should realize it’s not about HIM. Trust me, anything is better than what Phelps, Guza, and Wolf have done. GH is close to being terminal right now so drastic steps need to be taken. Jax was ruined under the previous regime so I don’t know why he’s giving grief to the new bosses. I wonder if it’s because they are lukewarm to any return of Ingo? Ron and Frank have SO MUCH pressure on them it’s frightening to think about. I wish Ingo would take a one way trip back to Hawaii.
I don’t like his comments. I don’t think Ron or Frank would do this, if they didn’t have it all planned out, in a classy way that would add to the show and not take away from it. Plus, in a time when ABC is so quick to pull a soap off the air, it doesn’t show the fans that people are willing to work together to try and save this show. I know he didn’t say anything that was extreme, and he does have the right to say what he wishes….but I think an approach of, “Hey this is cool, I can’t wait to see how they pull this off.” Would have been much better. I don’t know about anyone else, but I enjoyed the “What If?” series that Frank put together on Soapnet…and I’m sure it would be something along those lines. I just believe that everyone should work together to make this all improve or help GH in any way. I’ve never been a huge GH fan, but I will offer up my support, just for the simple fact of the OLTL characters that are going to GH, and I think Ingo should keep that in mind. There are a lot of people who will be like me, and watch to see these characters, and that, in the end will generate more ratings for the show. And even though I’m not a hard-core GH’er, I do wish them the best, and would hate to see it get cancelled.
Totally agree with Torrey! I think his remarks were rude and arrogant. Then again, I’ve never cared for him. OLTL should have never been canceled, and GH should be happy and welcome any help that they may offer to saving the show! I wish all of Llanview could come!
Agreed! Long long “One Life To Live” even if its only in our hearts and memories!
I find Ingo’s tweets childish. Being a long time fan of the show, I have watched ABC soaps for over 40 years, and I am sorry GH has been lacking in the recent years. I am looking forward to see new life brought to this show an have high hopes that the new writing and leadership will bring this show back to the great show it once was!
They do sound childish, don’t they? I agree.
Plus. I don’t take much stock in someone who legally names their child Peanut.
Jenna, I thought the same thing but thought my comment wouldn’t get printed! You go Girl!
good lord, he named his kid peanut? was it a boy or a girl ? either way thats awful,I feel so sorry for these poor kids that have parents that name there kids dumb names ,those kids grow up ,they go to school, lets face it kids are going to laugh at a name like that, but seriously he and his wife named there kid peanut?I dont even know what else to say.
Yes, Barbara T. Unless the tabloids got it wrong and anything is possible. But back when the baby was born. It said his LEGAL name was Peanut and then Ingo had some story about why. But his middle name is supposedly Kai and he was supposed to go by that.
I, for one, can’t wait until Peanut is a Freshman in high school. Poor kid. If he had been born in one of those countries that are strict about baby names it never would have happened. Yes he is entitled to name his child whatever he wants, but give me a break.
Sounds a little intimidated. I hope the 4 oltl actors keep their characters.
Ingo sounds a lot like Sour Grapes !
For me GH was killed when it became the mob, Jax and Jason hour and yes that sacrificed the group that was the Hospital for the most part!
I have never like him in the first place. He is jealous because if we are lucky, he will be permanently off the GH cast. I have watched GH for more years than I would like to say. Sorry Ingo, Don’t care too much for you. Go OLTL. Best soap ever.
Hopefully the new team can make GH better. I do look forward to seeing the folks from OLTL again but I am Standing With Agnes Nixon. Give the rights back to Ms. Nixon. I will not watch anything except GH day or night and I will continue to lobby for my soaps amc and oltl.
I have such high hopes for everyone at GH with the team from OLTL. I will miss OLTL, but really think the cast and the fans will benefit and I am all for having some wonderful One Life actors join GH.
I couldn’t agree more. It definately helps know I will see some of the OLTL characters on GH. Please people. FOCUS! We must band together and watch GH. It’s the last soap standing on ABC. I’ve watched both shows since the early 1970’s as a kid. OLTL was consistently my favorite, however, GH had it’s high points. Please, please, we need to have a united front before it’s too late.
Just a thought – has Ingo been let go several times or has he chosen to leave the show?
I think you’re right Tina, Ingo has chosen to leave several times before due to other commitments.
Don’t forget Ingo’s super high salary and how that factored in his leaving numerous times. Remember he left for prime time some years ago, GH was nice enough to have him back. Jax was a great character when he was initially brought to the show. It was under Phelps that Jax and other beloved characters were ruined. Ingo should learn to remember it’s NOT ABOUT HIM.
the last 2 times he was let go……………..
Ingo sounds just like his character Jax spiteful little boy that didnt get his way, so glad he is gone. When other shows were cancelled some characters went to other shows to help gain viewers and with 3 1/2 soaps left I will take what ever extra viewrs we can get. I think people should wait and see before jumping the gun and complaining.
Keep Ingo off and use the money saved to bring more OLTL’ers on GH !!!
I didn’t care for his tweet when I saw it, and the more he gives off that type of attitude the less we fans want to see him return. I’m a long time GH watcher but there was a period of time in the early/mid 2000s that I was out of the soap watching loop. When I came back, I was surprised. I am very excited about what I’m hearing of the new team at GH. I just recently went back and watched a lot of the early Port Charles spin off episodes on youtube. I have to say I miss Kevin and Lucy. They added a nice zany effect. I could just see Lucy and Spinelli getting into some kind of adventure together!
I really do not like that they have to get rid of some of my favorites to make room for these others. I want Johnney, Spinelli, Kate and Anthony to stay!
What a princess…..
Jax is so over. I for one am excited to see the next chapter of GH. Wow, btw, Luke & Lulu
Reallllly good scenes! Very touching!
The show is fighting for survival. It is not about him. Maybe that is his problem. FV and RC did not fire him. That was done by the prior regime. Get over yourself!
I’m not sure when everyone decided it was a great idea to post every thought and feeling they have on Twitter and Facebook, but there are some things you should just keep to yourself. Especially in a business where people have long memories and acting jobs are hard to come by. Just sayin’……
I miss OLTL so much! I’m so glad at least 4 characters are going to GH. I haven’t watched GH since 1984. I’m watching GH now in anticipation of the OLTL characters. I hope the 4 OLTL characters stay in Port Charles and they add Melissa Archer too!
I have serious concerns about what this new version of GH is going to look like. I have no choice but to wait and see how it unfolds, I just hope it’s *GH* and not a hybrid. Also, I think Ingo’s comments on Twitter have been blown WAY out of proportion and too much is being read into them. For Heaven’s sake, how much trouble would we all be in if our comments were held to such scrutiny.
Ingo sounds a bit bitter. I’ve totally quit watching GH but when Ron and Frank takeover I plan on watching. GH is horrible at the moment but I have high hopes for GH when OLTL takes over. GH needs a HUGE shake up and the 4 cast members and hopefully more along with the new regime hopefully they’ll be able to fix the mess that the show is in has become.
We’re being manipulated by ABC. I’ve looked at both shows for many years. I’m really mad about OLTL, I want it back on. Howvever, the powers that be are just appeasing us so they can justify February sweeps. I’m not saying I’m not going to watch, but think about the actors on GH. They see the writing on the wall and now their screen time is obviously going to be diminished with the crossovers. This is all ABC’s doing. They’re trying to pit the fans against each other. Don’t let it happen. Keep writing on the ABC boards.
Long time ABC soap fan here. All three shows have had there ups and downs. If RC and FV can restore some of the reasons I started watching GH I will b happy. As far as Oltl characters coming onboard, I’m cool with that. I have always loved it when any of the shows crossed over.
all the negativity needs to stop!
personally i am just thankful that we have an abc soap left – frank & ron definitely have their work cut out for them – here’s hoping they can work their magic to get this soap back to where it once was back in the day – i have been watching gh since the early 60’s…………..
Ingo’s character was ok and the writers wrote him into a corner. I remember when the show was about a HOSPITAL, and when Frank Smith hit Port Charles but the mob storyline has gotten old. I don’t know how the OLTL character are going to fit. I still scratch my head when it comes to Samantha McCall. BUT something needs to be done and hopefully, it will remain on the air.
Ingo does sound bitter and does not seem to be rooting for gh. I too have heard he’s arrogant. Actually, this long time gh fan wants the actors on who really want to be there. Good luck Frank and Ron! You’re going to do a great job!
jax is not going to be missed,at least not by me,ive always liked ,but not liked him.he tweeted, one hospital to kill.because of the writers from one life to live now the writers of gh taking over ,g h has been so boring ,Ive kept watching this soap for so many years ,hating it.took alot of afternoon naps when it was on.if g h is dead its because of the lousy writing that has been going on for a very long time now.Im looking forward to a very big change and I hope after ingo rademacher comments ,he is never asked back.ron and frank are the best writers, the stories on one life to live were the best, and I am looking forward to big changes in port charles, without jasper jax.
He’s totally right… One Hospital to Kill. That’s exactly what this show has become today.
no scott, its been the sonny corinthous and the mob show.
Well now it’s One Hospital to Kill.
ok but ill call it 1 hospital for abc to kill, not ron and frank.
I have no comment because I’m tired of going in circles with you. I get it, you like FV/RC, you know I don’t. Deal with it and please move on Barbara.
ha, they are so busy bringing back the old actors and adding new ones that the writers have blown the story lines that could of been good. g.h. had some good talent that they let go. lisa, abby to name a few. one could tell the writers didnt know what to do with the actors they had. i think there is still a struggle going on.
OLTL was always a great soap but it became epically great once the abc execs got their hands off it and stopped caring. RC FV did amazing work on OLTL. They are fans of GH and I think they will bring GH back to its glory days so we won’t have to suffer through the unwatchable unbearable crap that’s been on our screens for years. I have faith in them. If I’m proven wrong then I will be sad but that’s life. Soap fans have been a roller coaster this year so my motto when it comes to them is now: hope for the best. expect the worst.
I think Ingo is just a bitter bitch. He got fired from the old regime and the new regime is like yea…great…we’ll see…have a nice day. If they want him back, great! Hopefully Jax can make Michael bearable again like he did in that ep where they had that nice convo and Michael was a character I liked for once. If they don’t, oh well.
Stop being bitter about the new regime and see what they can do bc it just might amaze you. Hopefully, they won’t prove my faith in them wrong.(That was directed at Ingo).
I agree with the One Lifers up there, not only because I was a fan in the late years, but because it WAS a great show when RC/FV took over. I agree the quality improved, ironically so, when the abc execs stopped caring. It was on their chopping block, good ratings/good quality or not, because GH was always the network’s daytime darling pet.
Now, I tuned into GH one night this past week, and it was simply unwatchable, and I won’t even go into detail to how much this show disgusts me. I turned it off after 5 minutes. Part of me wants to watch GH when the RC/FV dream team take over, and I’d love to see a mass migration of OLTL characters to Port Charles, because the network DID cancel the wrong show. However, I do not want to invest in and show loyalty toward a show when the network cannot do the same for me. I truly believe GH will be cancelled very soon.
It is now all too apparent that OLTL was the anchor that held the network’s afternoon lineup together. It was cancelled, and now the network knows what we all knew all along, that these lifestyle shows followed by an extremely unwatchable drama are no match for a strong afternoon soap lineup. Maybe that’s what the corporate suits with empty heads and greedy hands wanted all along. Maybe they’re even wealthier for having made these decisions to exit the soap business. I just know their wealth will no longer be because I’m watching their garbage.
I wish that RC/FV would have gone to Y&R. I’ve resumed watching Y&R after our beloved show was cancelled, and Y&R is getting back to its old form, I must say. But just IMAGINE what it could be with our dream team at the helm!
Long live ONE LIFE TO LIVE.
Ive been wanting to come here since we got the news that one hospital to kill has been renewed ,ingo you were wrong about your comments to Ron and Frank and I for one hope you never come back to general hospital ,the writers you were sticking up for pretty much killed your character and made you boring I thought you were boring for very long time. for you to speak about the new writers before you had any Idea what would happen was wrong on your part it kind of hurts you if you want to return to your old job ,General hospital is good again better then it has been in the years while you were on,I know alot of people like jasper jax I dont ,anyway I just wanted to come back here to say INgo you were wrong, and I love it.
