As many have heard now through various soap publications and online platforms, it is Vincent Irizarry’s nefarious Dr. David Hayward, who gets “killed” in the whodunit/murder mystery plans from new AMC head writers, David Kreizman and Donna Swajeski.   And while this Daytime Emmy winner’s departure from the show was a well-kept secret and had been touted as the “death of a main character” on the show, there are some conflicting reports emerging that may cast doubt if Vincent is:  truly gone from Pine Valley,  if it’s temporary, or if something else is in the works.

Last evening on his official facebook page, Rachel Anderson, who runs the page for Vincent posted this statement to his fan base!  “Hello everyone — We can now confirm and tell you that Vincent is still in negotiations, as the end of his contract is up shortly. The show has added this plot twist, but as I expressed below, please continue to tune in and make your thoughts, wishes, and voices known. Like many of you, I feel there is much more of D…avid’s story that needs to unfold and we would love to continue watching Vincent’s amazing portrayal of the most complex character on the daytime canvas!

Vincent passed on at how touched he has been by the overwhelming support and outpouring of messages that he has received over the past few days from all of you. Vincent writes, “I can’t say enough how appreciative I am of all the comments on websites and message boards that have been written in support of my work and my character. There would be no doubt to me whatsoever, if I do return to AMC, it will be in greater part because of this wonderful outpouring from all of you who love the show and David as much as I do. I am forever grateful to all of you.”

So what do you think?  Is Irizarry truly dead and gone from P.V.?

Dear Vincent, I can’t describe how I feel today. I’m hoping and pulling for you to stay on amc. I think that amc wouldn’t be the same without you. You’ve done such a wonderful job with your character the evil Dr. David, the villain we love to hate.

Know that you have a slew of fans out her rooting for you and writing letters to tptb, on your behalf. We want you back her in p/v where you belong.

Hang in there we’re behind you all the way.

….

Couldn’t agree more! If he really is gone, it’s another (one of many) MAJOR misstep by AMC & ABC.

David makes the most of so much lousy material he’s been given. Able to play a villain in complex terms, not just one-dimensional. True talent. Sick of the shallow boring crap and one-dimensional characters AMC writers/etc treat the characters like paper dolls, puppets and matchsticks used to gloss over superficial story arcs and issues not allowed to be complex characters any more.

Good luck David!!!! They’ll rue the day the let you go.

….

Did i say David? I meant VINCENT of course! see, that’s how believable he makes the character!

I hope he isn’t gone from AMC. I think the character and the actor are fantastic. They have so many newbies and storylines we really don’t care about but Dr David always make any scene he is in interesting. They don’t seem to value their talented vets over there so anything is possible. However, it would just be one more reason to stop watching, which I do frequently.

David is the best soap star period

after just reading this, it gives me hope. as a 40 year fan of all my children, lets just say i feel like a true lifelong friend to many of pine valley. i have watched this show since i was 12! i grew up with these characters! before there were vcr’s or dvr’s, i would work nights just to not miss MY show! i have always been a huge dr. david fan! there is no one in that town with more talent, depth, comedy and deliciousness. sure he is slightly evil and unpredictable, but that is what i would so look forward to seeing. i hope and pray that they can negotiate a deal to keep him! i cant imagine pine valley without him AGAIN….so many blah boring righteous better than thou characters judging him. i am over it. if vincent irizarry walks away from pine valley. i will still tune in, but it will never be the same! dont know whats up with the writers there anymore, but you are boring the %^$& out of us lately!!! if dr. hayward goes, who are we to wait on the edge of our seats to see, scott? jr? lol! you have lost adam, brooke, palmer, jamie, babe, zack, and dixie once again. good or bad, we, your audience, need someone we can root for. i see very few left on the list for me anyway! PLEASE KEEP DAVID ALIVE, AND SEND RYAN TO JAIL! btw, i dont care much for greenlee, so her pain goes unfelt for me. she is just getting back what she always gave. these pompous asses of pine valley have me shaking my head and wondering, will i finally just turn the show off for good?

It would not surprise me. I love VI. I have followed him from soap to soap, starting when he was Lujack at GL. As a lifetime watcher of GL, I also saw what David Kreizman did to that show. I was shocked, appalled, and sad when I saw AMC had picked him up as a writer. It worries me. He destroys core characters, and has no concept of what is best and good about the soap genre – characters and their relationships. He’s a nightmare, and I hope his presence does not mean the end of VI’s presence.

OMG…i had no clue David (Vincent) was leaving AMC…what the heck are these writers thinking? The show is so boring lately and hes the only one that spices it up with his anitcs. I’m glad hes not a real person cause he sure is full of anger and hate..but …Vincent…you make this evil man the guy that he is lol…I’m sure nothing like your real life..or at least i hope not…lol…but you are very believable..unlike many of the idiots running around Pine Valley…I have watched the show since day 1 and have seen many good actors leave and go to other shows and be very successful…You would be scooped up in a new york second and never out of work..Honestly if i were you, i’d tell AMC to KMA and move on to bigger and better things…Maybe CSI or night time TV…hey isnt it time for Erica to retire lol…i am so over her..and others i’m over are ryan, greenlee (she comes and goes like the wind), marissa, but i do especially love Calib…and i sure hope he doesnt get hooked up with Erica…but..this is about you Vincent…you are such an asset to the show and they have no clue what they will lose if they dont renew your contract…but if they dont as i said i’ll look forward to seeing you on Prime Time TV where you truly belong……….best wishes

I HATE HATE HATE DAVID….but, he still has to make Greenlee and Ryan pay and get Liza to prosecute both of them. Then he’ll return and destroy more lives. He’s David…they can’t truly kill him…I don’t even like him and it doesn’t make sense to me!

I don’t know about David, but Vincent should never ever wear that sweater again.

Vincent is an integral part of the landscape. Without him there is not much of a show!

David is an evil man. Pine valley needs this villain, they don’t have anyone truly evil. And I watch AMC solely to see David get his comeuppence. His death would be a disappointment to the loyal fans that enjoy Vincent’s exceptional performance. Let’s hope there is a bizarre twist where it’s a secret twin that gets killed. Or maybe Greenlee steals his body and hires some Dr. Frankenstein to bring David back to life.

surely not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First you take Zach away and now David. I feel like not even watching it anymore. I am very disappointed.

I think David has somehow given himself a drug that makes a person appear to be dead. Meanwhile, he has an accomplice who will make sure he isn’t really buried. Then his “death” can be pinned on Ryan, whom David wants to get out the way anyway.
I hope something like this scenario happens, since David is one of the best characters on the show.

I think you’re right, maybe not spot on, but I definitely don’t think he’s dead. David’s way to crafty to just collapse! It would take an army to take him down!!

Exactly, and who dies from a punch in the face?

Just saw the last episode where David dies, and we were devestated. Are you all kidding me? He is the WHOLE show. You definitely need to bring him back, or I definitely see you losing a huge fan base.

I agree. There are so few substantial characters left on AMC these days. It seems like they’re just catering to a younger demographic by filling the show up with characters ages 18 to 35.

I truly believe it is a great mistake to kill off one of the best and most interesting characters on AMC. I was sad when Vincent left the show before but the character of David Hayward was still alive and there was always some hope he would return. Vincent Irizarry is one of the best actors on AMC. I always look forward to his scenes. Please reconsider your decision.

After losing David Canary (Adam) only Vincent could take over the role of villain so perfectly in his place. PLEASE bring him back. The show will go downhill without such a diversfied and professial actor.

vince is all my children, especially w/ the departure of the almighty david canary!

Knowing David, he took a drug to make him look dead. He will arise again. He is to evil to die.

David is alive and Madison helped him stage his death.

Yes, I just thought the same thing, when I saw that vial of digitalis in Ryan’s pocket. The only one who could have put it there was Madison.

I’m a 25 year veteran of the show. I think that David is alive. I cried when Zach’s son and Annie’s brother died. Both resurfaced on other soaps.

david is the only villian on the show which make him incredible in every scene i will miss him i wish they would have gave him a real love interest

I hope All My Children isn’t stupid enough to kill off one of their best ever characters. Vincent plays the part of David so well, he is a true talent and so much fun to watch. You never know what he is going to do next. It was sad enough to see David Canary retire so Pine Valley needs a bad guy. JR tries to be the bad guy and nothing against Jacob Young, but he just isn’t the caliber of an actor as Vincent is.

amc has had major ratings issues and can not afford to let vincent/david go. He is so
wonderful to watch and keeps the stories exciting. If people hate david thats a good thing! Means vincent is doing his job well! I miss his interactions with tad. I also like
becky budigs chemistry with vincent. Ryan and greenlee would be more interesting if she truly has feelings for david as well. Be smart amc, you finally have fans talking and
an opportunity to have david resurface after the fake “death”. This story could be so much more interesting if david were still alive than the usual who done it which has been
overplayed by every single soap!! We all love vincent and want the writers to do this actor and his fans proud!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Who could play the villain better??? David Hayward is the guy you just LOVE to HATE! But he does have some redeeming traits – I just can’t believe he is off the show! Please, please, please bring him back!

Iam and still in shock that Vincent’s character is off, I really hope he is not,I am a huge and devoted fan of his,and yes I truley hope he comes back,AMC will not be the same without him.

Plus I wont watch if he is really gone.!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been a fan of AMC since 1974. I will stop watching this show if David is truly killed off. I’m through.

Hey, I’ve been watching since 74 also, don’t quit it’s a great show. They will make it interesting again. Maybe they will bring David back

I hope they keep Dr. Dave on the show also, as the storyline possibilities are numerous if he comes back. But if he leaves, the best of luck to Vincent. However, I’ll still continue to watch. Asher is a pretty good possibility for a new villian (he’s actually kind of creepy), as is Caleb Cooney (why is he always so secretive – I mean, what does he have to hide ?).

I don’t think Caleb Cooney has anything to hide. He’s a great down to earth man although he has trust issues and you can’t blame him after all.

I think they could have the usual ‘who dunnit’ but then later have him resurface. The last couple of episodes I thought were ridulous with David coming back as a ‘ghost’, or Greenlee’s conscience. The “ghost stories” have also been done to death. No, I don’t believe David’s death with kill AMC either. I mean, other major characters have left and the soap itself survived amongst protests from fans. And I hope David doesn’t come back only to pretend to be a ghost to drive the others crazy, as that’s been done before also (like when Janet from another planet had the deceased Will Cortland’s double ‘haunt’ Dixie to drive her crazy). I think he should come up with something more devious than that. But seriously, if David does come back he should really consider taking a self defense class because the guy doesn’t know how to fight, and everytime someone goes into battle with him he gets his butt kicked.

David’s death on AMC made no sense. I think the producers, directors etc. need to relook at this and figure out how to correct their script. Everything was going well, David was black-mailing Greenlee and it was just getting good then all of a sudden David’s gone? It didn’t make any sense but I’m not a producer, director etc. so I guess they know what they are doing. In addition, no one really knows what he died of? Two guys fist fighting doesn’t usually end up in death unless one person is hit upside the head but when David stumbled to the floor he was holding his stomach. I thought he had been shot or stabbed but neither happened so it’s really not realistic. I’ve been watching AMC since 1974 so I’ve kept up with this soap for a while, David is a grreat actor! He deserved his award last year and he should have received one again this year. I think the directors, need to figure out a way to bring him back. Maybe they can include something like: David faked his own death because too many people (especially Ryan) already knew what he was trying to do to Greenlee and therefore he knew he would end up in jail and without Greenlee, and he didn’t want to lose Greenlee to Ryan so he makes sure Ryan is arrested for his death. How did he fake his own death: David is an excellent doctor and probably knows some way to make himself look like he’s dead in addition he pays off the doctor who pretends to perform an autopsy. By the way the individual that left his input about David getting his butt kicked all the time well, I do believe David can probably fight, I just believe that they make his characted appear to be a wimp when it comes to fighting. It’s really kind of comical because everytime he gets into a fight he always get whooped. I love AMC and all of it’s characters. I have laughed, cried and felt sorrow especially when the Martin’s grandmother, Mona, Palmer, Phoebe, and Myrtle passed away. Awesome show!! wish I could meet the characters especially, David (Bring him back!) Adam (too bad he’s no longer on the show) , Erica (of course), Jackson, and Angie and Jesse.

I was very happy to see Vincent return to Pine Valley…now, he’s gone again…possibly forever! I say, “NO”……………….(to the head writers) …….don’t do this to us! I really like him with Greenlee……I see she is having remorse, second thots, etc??????? I like her with David better than with Ryan. I say, “KEEP HIM on All My Children!!!”

Even his scenes as a ghost are terrific. I don’t care who killed David, (other than the worst writers in daytime), dropping Vincent I. was such a letdown. I thought that there was great chemistry between VI and Rebecca B. (Greenlee), and was hoping the writing would steer the characters into a more geniune relationship. Then we could see VI and RB at their best, showing their characters vulnerablity. There seemed to be so much more the writers could have explored with David Haywards background, because he wasn’t always so devious. I have tried to watch the past weeks show, and am only enjoying the scenes VI is on with RB. The other storylines are leaving me disinterested at best. If there is not a plot twist soon, I don’t think I will invest any more time with AMC. Wherever Vincent I. winds up next, I will be watching. I read he will be guest starring on NCIS-LA. soon, can’t wait.

I hope that Vincent Irizarry/David isn’t gone from AMC permanently. – – He had a great character on the show and was such a key part of Pine Valley. If Jessie can return from the dead after 20 years, surely David will be back too!!

No way, David is not gone for good. He is a fantastic actor. He makes me want to strangle him myself.

I hope there is some way to bring d.h. back from the dead. the show could not be the same!

The character of David is basically the whole show, without him the soaps rating has beeb seriously downgraded. Vincent has an on screen presence which exudes quality of his craft in a unique persona.

The character of David is basically the whole show, without him the soaps rating has been seriously downgraded. Vincent has an on screen presence which exudes quality of his craft in a unique person

Im sure David is not dead. He is a major character of the show. If for some reason the writers chose to let him go and he is dead they should reconsider it will be a great loss for the show. Noone does it better than Vincent Irizzarry.

I love david even if he was a scoundrel, please don’t let him be dead

This is how my theory will be and how David Hayward’s death is a hoax. He must’ve pay Nick Pearson a lot of money to frame Greenlee and Ryan for murder that he planted the vial in Ryan’s jacket and Nick must’ve have the antidote to keep him alive. Maybe he will walk in the courtroom to shock everyone that is one big ploy.

David’s character is the only character that actually makes sense on this one sided soap opera. While ALL MY CHILDREN try to give Ryan all the good written story lines.., David really does some fine acting. Without David, Adam, and Zach, the show really sucks. All MY CHILDREN can not continue to make Ryan look good on this show. It makes the show really boring.

Please hire the writers they have ten years ago.

If you get rid of real actors it really hurts a once great show.

It’s about time they brought David back.. the show was truly suffering. I was getting so sick of the BS they were putting on. I completely stopped watching it. Now with Zach gone, which is a huge lost, David can spice the show up again. The sorry excuse for writers must have come to their senses. The next move is to kill Ryan off, and for good. Cameron is a lousy actor and his character is over-rated. He pisses me off.

This is the man I love to hate. Life just wouldn’t be the same without his lying, cheating, sneaky, devious character to spice up my day. If All My Children doesn’t fight for him, I’m afraid they’ll have lost a major player!

YOU PEOPLE HAVE GOT TO BE CRAZY-DAVID IS GONE LET IT GO ALREADY AND WHILE YOU ARE AT IT GET RID OF ANNIE AND MADISON TOO.

This week began and as reported with a spotlight article on Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos and how their production entity, Milojo, has been teeing up the All My Children reboot with Lifetime.

The L.A. Times featured the married couple, co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark, and former All My Children cast members (where they met and fell in love) about their plans to bring two All My Children movies to Lifetime and how they are working with the Agnes Nixon estate to make it come to fruition,

On Wednesday, it was revealed by Daytime Confidential, that All My Children reboot producer, Andrew Stearn handpicked none other than Ron Carlivati (ex-head writer, One Life to Live, General Hospital and Days of our Lives) and Jamey Giddens (who is the new co-head writer of The Young and the Restless, following his tenures on the writing teams of Beyond the Gates and Days of Our Lives), as the two scribes who will bring the first of two of Kelly and Mark’s All My Children movies to the page.

RON CARLIVATI AND JAMEY GIDDENS CONFIRM THEIR BOARDING THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE PROJECT

The second installment is said to be written by primetime writer Leo Richardson whose credits include: Star, Katy Keene and more recently the Penn Badgley (ex-Phillip Chancellor IV, The Young and the Restless) starring series, You.

Richardson also wrote for three years on the U.K.’s long-running soap, EastEnders. All My Children revival fans will recall Richardson’s name was attached as the writer for the first incarnation of the All My Children movies, entitled, Pine Valley.

Ron Carlivati took to X and confirmed he is indeed boarding the All My Children movie project. Carlivati shared, “So excited to share this news! Thanks to Andrew Stearn, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Albert Bianchini and the Agnes Nixon estate for entrusting Jamey Giddens and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime! Stay tuned!”

Jamey Giddens confirmed DC’s announcement by taking to his account on X and expressing, “I’ve been booked and busy in 2026. Thanks to Andrew Stearn, the Agnes Nixon estate, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos for entrusting Ron Carlivati, and me with the first of two planned All My Children movies for Lifetime!”

Some fans seemed to question how Giddens could be writing for the first All My Children movie at Lifetime, when he is the new co-head writer at The Young and the Restless with Dan O’Connor. Jamey answered that head on via X and explained, “We turned in our All My Children script months ago. My sole focus as of this past Monday, is Genoa City, Wisconsin! #YR”

ERICA KANE, MARIA SANTOS AND HAYLEY AND MATEO SANTOS TO APPEAR IN THE ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIE REVIVAL?

In the planned stories, Susan Lucci’s Erica Kane and Eva LaRue’s Maria Santos will be two characters whose lives we will get to see for the first time since the series was canceled by ABC back in 2011 after 41 years on the air. As well, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos confirmed they will make brief appearances on-screen; one could assume as Hayley and Mateo Santos.

“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos to the LA Times. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”

So, what do you think of Ron Carlivati and Jamey Giddens getting nod to write the All My Children movie #1 script and Leo Richardson #2? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

‘All My Children’ Revival Updates: Lifetime EVP Speaks on Why Proposed Movies are Great Fit, Mark Consuelos Wants To ‘Give Back’ to Fans

The All My Children revival via movies at Lifetime is still in the works from former series stars and marrieds, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, through their production company, Milojo.

The co-hosts of Live with Kelly and Mark were featured this week in a Los Angeles Times article which detailed their efforts to bring some of the citizens of Pine Valley back to your screens.

As previously reported, and reaffirmed by the L.A. Times, the All My Children movies will be set in the present day and focus on what beloved characters such as Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Maria Santos Gray (Eva LaRue) are doing now. In addition, Kelly Ripa confirmed that she and Mark Consuelos will also appear on screen briefly most likely appearing in their signature soap roles as Hayley and Mateo Santos.

ALL MY CHILDREN MOVIES BRING NOSTALGIA THAT CAN BE MADE TO FEEL NEW AGAIN

Elaine Frontain Bryant, executive vice president and head of programming for A&E, Lifetime, and Lifetime Movie Network said of the All My Children reboot, “Lifetime is always interested in shows that kind of tap into a powerful nostalgia that can be made fresh for today’s audience. There’s a whole generation of women that have missed these stories and these characters.”

As for working with Kelly and Mark on the Lifetime movie versions of the soap, “They’re exactly the kind of partners you want at a brand,” expressed Bryant. “They’re trusted voices because every day they’re talking to their audience, which, a lot of times, is our audience. They bring a real credibility and have an authentic point of view. You meet Kelly and Mark and kind of what you see is what you get, and I think they bring that same authenticity to their development standards.”

Albert Bianchini, executive producer for Milojo, says he knows All My Children is so wildly popular with the fans of daytime. That was punctuated when seeing it in person, and how the energy was off the charts back in January of 2025 when Kelly participated along with Susan Lucci, former head writer, Lorraine Broderick and casting director, Judy Blye Wilson in a conversation with Andy Cohen at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.

“I’ve never seen a crowd like that in my life. People were lined up around the block, recalled the Bianchini.  “Everyone wanted to know, ‘When is (All My Children) coming back? We want more.’  We got to see that in real life and Kelly got to feel it in real life, and it made so much sense. I just know that the minute it gets out in the world, people will want more and more and more. There’s just a love there.”

Kelly Ripa added that they are, “working closely with Bob and Sarah Nixon, who are also serving as producers.” She recalled, “She (Agnes Nixon) was so far ahead of her time. She covered topics that weren’t being covered. It was extraordinary the audiences that the show drew, and she served them real stories that were affecting Americans across the country but weren’t necessarily being represented anywhere.”

“It’d be wonderful to give the fans something that they’ve been yearning for so many years,” shared Mark Consuelos. “All My Children gave me my family. I met my wife there. It gave me my start in the business. It gave us so much. It would be a dream to be able to give back.”

THE CANCELLATION AND STOPS AND STARTS OF ALL MY CHILDREN REBOOTS

All My Children aired on ABC from 1970 to 2011. It got a second chance at life when Prospect Park resurrected the show and brought it to The OnLine Network and Hulu for one season in 2013.

Recently, the series made a return through the estate of Agnes Nixon and is streaming internationally on BEONDTV and through their partnership with PlutoTV Canada with episodes starting in 1995. Fans hope original episodes will some day soon be available in the U.S. as well, but that could prove more difficult since ABC owns the rights to the episodes stateside.

Now 13 years later, while there is no word yet on a definitive production start date to the two movies at Lifetime, all the people involved seemed determined to make it come to life.

So, what do you think of the executive vice-president of Lifetime and LMN being enthusiastic about Kelly and Mark’s All My Children movie revivals? Are you wanting to see this come to fruition? Kelly and Mark seem to have made this a very high priority.  Do you hope that by 2027 we might be able to get this to the finish the line and into production? Weigh-in via the comment section.
