Jacob Young Offers Up Thoughts On Rick and Maya’s Split On The Bold and the Beautiful

As fans of CBS Daytime’s The Bold and the Beautiful know, Daytime Emmy-winner Jacob Young (Rick Forrester) has been off the canvas for some time, and the actor had gone on recurring status with the series.

Young has been busy with other projects involving acting roles, his You Tube show, and music career, but certainly is open to a return to the soap opera.

But after the cover of this week’s Soap Opera Digest hit newsstands; which indicates that Rick and Maya have split with the return on-air of Karla Mosley (Maya) (who had been off the show for maternity leave), it clearly looks like the show is moving in a different direction.

Jacob took to Twitter to offer up his feelings on the matter tweeting: “I for one am incredibly sad and disappointed. Rick and Maya have split. (Love that would never die) I loved working with Karla Mosley.  it has been the highlight of my 21 year career in daytime. TRUST ME when I say your opinion matters.”

Since that posting, fans of the couple known as #Raya, have been voicing their thoughts and sharing photos of the on-screen duo.  Young responded to one in particular saying, “Who remembers this? Gosh, I miss Maya.”  In it,the posting read: “This is heartbreaking, Raya was the only example of what true love looks like on that soap!”

Previously, B&B has told the emotional and socially-relevant love story of a transgender woman falling in love with one of the men of the wealthy and renowned Forrester family.

So, what do you think of Jacob’s comments?  Do you want Rick back on the canvas?  What should then happen next for Maya with no Rick?  Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

YES…we want Rick back!!

I wouldn’t mind Jacob back, I actually loved him on AMC, but as Rick , I’d like him to stand up to Ridge a little more, especially after taking his wife away , right under his nose. Eric too, is not always there for his younger son, which leads Rick up to calling it up to Ridge that he really isn’t a Forrester, but a Maronie.

I like Jacob Young and would love him back as Rick…

I am confused by this… did they break up off camera? If so, what a cheat for regular viewers. Lame.

Typical Bell, he always breaks up couples off camera when he looses interest, just like his father did back in the days. It happened to Ridge and Brooke, Donna and Nick, Owen and Bridget, James and Stephanie and so on…

It’s how couples break up on B&B: off-canvas. If helps Bell to not have to write something that is not a love triangle.

Yes, off camera, in Forester International where most relationships go to die.

Wow, weird. On the other hand, since it was Jacob Young’s decision to leave (go recurring), then he really shouldn’t be criticizing their story decisions. But I feel bad for the viewers all the way around.

It’s strange they should break up since they seemed so in love. Maybe Rick decided to pursue a singing career after all (remember when Kyle Lowder played Rick? He sang with Phoebe.).

If anything, he was given a powerful position at Forrester International.

This does NOT surprise me…not one bit. I mean…seeing as how the show continues to RIDICULOUSLY revolve around that TIRED AND EVEN MORE ANNOYING Hope/Liam/Steffy triangle!!!!! Bradley Bell…SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

Happy Holidays, everyone.

Brad Bell has a half hour show to write which equates to approximately 18 mins per day. He can not seem to get off the Liam/Hope/ Steffy train. It is beyond old and tired. He has the ability to write good story as he did for the Spectra return. It is disappointing that this show is like watching a rerun daily. Perhaps new writers would benefit the B&B.

Constance Towers Returns To GH As Helena Cassadine … But Just How Does She Appear?

Now, any General Hospital fan knows that if there is skullduggery and evil going down, Helena Cassadine (whether dead or alive) is usually somehow involved when it comes to the lives of certain people in Port Charles.

And … some major storyline news from TV Line reveals that on next Monday’s August 19th episode of the ABC soap opera, Constance Towers reprises her role as the evil one herself … Helena!

Apparently, look for Helena to appear in a flashback with none other than Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) and about Drew Cain’s time in Afghanistan.  That scene might hold a key to just what Shiloh wants now that he has implanted Drew’s memories into Franco (Roget Howath), thanks to Dr. Cabot’s work.  But could what is revealed also relate to the story that will see Billy Miller (Drew) exit the canvas later this month? Stay tuned.

Viewers last saw Helena alive in story until November of 2016, but then she was part of Jake’s hallucinations that were a part of the chimera storyline that climaxed at the Nurses’ Ball back in May of 2017.

So what do you think Helena’s presence in a flashback will reveal? And, who is ultimately having that flashback? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Daytime Emmys To Merge Younger Actor & Actress Category Into One As Gender-Inclusive Categories Are On The Rise

The upcoming 47th annual Daytime Emmys are already making some changes to key categories and specifically this one that affects daytime drama performers.  Word from Variety is that NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) is going to announce that they are combining the Younger Actor and Actress categories into one gender-neutral category

Not only will the Younger performer category be gender-inclusive, but network soap performances will be combined with digital drama series performances for the category.  Previously, for this past Daytime Emmys, NATAS had changed the Guest Performer in a Drama Series to be gender-inclusive.

This category was initially created in 1985 when it was called the Outstanding Ingenue and then from there tweaked into Outstanding Juvenile Female and Male, and more recently that morphed into the Younger Actor and Actress categories.

Former GH star Hayley Erin (Ex-Kiki) and former DAYS star, Kyle Pettis (Ex-Theo) will now be the last female and male to win the two separate categories with this new move for 2020.

Fans of film and TV have noticed that on several award shows on MTV: their Movie and TV Awards and their VMA’s, there are several gender-inclusive categories, as well as the Television Critics Association Awards who for instance doles out Outstanding Individual Achievement in Drama in comedy.
