I, for one, will not miss Avery. I never took to the character. Is Joe leaving with her? I hope not…oh, I know….why don’t Avery and Dylan be a couple again and leave together?

By the way….who else thinks that the Jack we saw today at Nikki’s INTERVENTION! was the real thing…I mean, the real Jack? Did he ,perhaps, intercept and ambushed Fake Jack?

He must be Jack Bauer then. 🙂

For being starved and strapped to a bed he would have to summon a lot of energy. I just want this story OVER.

You made me laugh, Chrystie.
I thought that since he escaped and killed Kelly, Real Jack made his way back to GC.
Then , today, the preview showed him back in that forsaken room with Kelly….I am so confused with this show….and sooo tired of its storylines running to eternity snd back.
I want it over too.

Funny CeeCee, I thought the exact same thing when Jack#2 waxed poetic about choosing your addiction over your loved ones. Then I saw the scenes for tomorrow – not sure if it’s a flashback or the real thing. This two Jack storyline is the pits for so many reasons – the main one being that you’d have to live on another planet to believe that someone could have Jack’s voice, expressions, gestures, and emotional intelligence down to perfect impersonation. And on top of that, I’m supposed to believe that this guy who was fluent in Spanish now has no trace of an accent? It’s so ridiculously insulting to my intelligence.

I will say that this episode with MTS was excellent, mostly because SHE is excellent. But I’m losing my patience…

I agree, Lucia. MTS gave us one heck of a performance. I was mesmerized by her ‘mental’ and ’emotional’ voyage where we were suspended between reality and imagination.
I am usually annoyed by Nikki’s romance with the bottle….the tug-of-war has been going on year after year, month after month….to the point of frustration. But, today? A definite pleasant surprise.

Then, there’s Jack…or the two Jacks. I have written about the overwhelming lunacy of this storyline until I am blue in the face. I had to suffer through Fluke….now Jack 1&2.
I have said it before, I will say it again. Y&r R is for babies, right now. You are so right…an insult to our intelligence.
Something else that is so unrealistic is Jack’s sex drive. Really? How does he keep up with a wife who’s more than 20 years younger? Viagra? One too many pills and he’ll end up with a heart attack…LOL.

I really thought that the real Jack was back. It made perfect sense. He killed Kelly; Victor’s henchman reported Jack had left the island; Fake Jack disappeared for a time because Victor was fretting over his absence; and, finally, Jack’s heart-felt words to Nikki. I doubt that a hardened criminal such as Fake Jack could even ‘feel’ those sentiments.
We shall see. You may be right….what we saw could have been flashbacks.
I do appreciate the fact that we had the same thoughts, Lucia.

Cee Cee. Well, maybe that was the real Jack. I honestly stopped watching after the first five minutes. Today’s Y&R episode was dreadful and indicative of an actresses’s out of control ego. Most soap actresses are not married to a high power network executive and so they cannot be indulged in this manner.
But Cee Cee, I was astonished that Jack told Victor that he would stay for the intervention because that is what the “real Jack” would do. He said the aforementioned in such a loud voice that it seemed incredibly idiotic.

Right on, Harry. I cannot speculate on these storylines any longer. The soap is making me batty.
…not just the Jack debacle, but I could not even imagine confronting my mother about a guy with whom we both had sex. You know? Abby and Ashley? Yuck!! (Not that it would ever happen within my family…..!!!!!!) I suppose it could be true to life….again, ….Yuck!! Sick!!
I am so far removed from this situation. They talk about it as if it were so commonplace. I may be young, but stuff like this does not happen in my world….where have people’s principles and morality gone??
Yes, I was shocked with Fake Jack’s docile behavior also. Are the writers trying to humanize him?
I feel as if I am watching a soap straight from outer space….so senseless.

OK Enough, I have to ask you guys, (CeeCee, not sure if you’re still reading this but hope you are): what the heck can we do about how ridiculous our show has become. One of my friends emailed me the other day and said, “How do we bring our show back to its former glory?”. Do either of you know to whom we can write irate letters?? Or is it a matter of simply not watching? Because as much as I will miss the characters, they seem so foreign to me now that maybe it doesn’t matter anymore. Any ideas?

Another thing, Harry? Here we go again….Jack and another woman….AGAIN! Chiquita this time. What is it about this old man and girls? Of all the gorgeous hunks, why him? This really bugs me….how the writers constantly try to make Peter into a heartthrob. He is in his 60’s ….no offense to elderly men, but, let’s get real. Match him up with women his own age.
All these hens, clucking around him. Is losing feathers over him really worth it? What am I missing?

Why does Chuck Pratt hate female characters. He makes them all crazy and pathetic . Enough of letting this writer work for YR

I don’t think Pratt hates female characters. If he did, we would not have to suffer through the perpetual grimace on whiny-faced Summer or alley-cat Abby.
The Avery character just wasn’t working. TPTB tried attaching her to different male characters with no success.
I lost count of how many times I have said here, and on other sites….We do not know what goes on behind the scenes or, behind closed doors.

Cant stand CHELSEA UGH! I never liked Chelsea and now I cant stand Sage!

I don’t like Chelsea myself….what is the fuss all about? The only pretty thing on her is her hair….that is, if it’s really hers. Extensions, maybe?
Back in the day, her on-screen mother, Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke), would have given Chelsea a run for her money.

NO, I don’t want her to leave!! The show needs actresses like her and bring back Billy Miller to

Hi! Who are you talking about, Emily? Avery or Chelsea ? It matters not to me,if either stays or leaves. But, I understand why Avery was let go……unless leaving was her decision?
I think that Abby serves no purpose, or Summer; I’d gladly see these two leave….but, they are both directly connected to the demi-god, Victor.
I wish Mac were back….she had a major link in Catherine, but TPTB decided Devon had more acting ‘sustenance’ than Mac? Go figure.

Emily, I agree with you. I like Avery and don’t want to see her leave. Get rid of Joe and Sage. Do not like them!!! YES, bring back Billy Miller.

I love Jessica Collins as Avery! I don’t want her to leave! I agree that some of the story lines are lasting way to long. Like lets get going with Jack. We know he will return to Genoa City. It’s getting very old with the “Marco” crap!

I hope she doesn’t leave. I have always liked Avery, and now
that she and Phyllis have grown closer, they represent pretty
much the only female friendship on the show, too.

Avery is being murdered.

And it will likely be at the hands of the fake Jack.

GREAT! No we have to deal with Summer sobbing ALL summer long! They got rid of the wrong blonde!

Nanci, I like the actress and really like Avery too. Unfortunately, the writing afforded to her has been really lack luster and unworthy of the actresses’s talent.
You know when I liked Avery the most? When she was just friends with Michael Muhney’s Adam. She brought out the best in him and he in her. It was nice to see Adam being kind to someone simply for the sake of friendship and not for anything he might get in return. And in turn, it was nice to see Avery be kind to someone she was not trying to save. Adam was incredibly protective of Avery and I liked seeing that side of him. I think the actress is underrated–so good she makes it look easy.

Hi Harry,
So true. I loved Avery and Adam, too. And so true about her being
so good as an actress that it looks effortless!

I would not necessarily call whatever it is between Phyllis and Avery a friendship. This Phyllis is too arrogant and controlling….there exists a give-and-take to a true friendship. Also, there has never been that special bond a sibling has with her sister.
And, therein lies the crux of the matter. Michelle Stafford’s Phyllis had a keen intelligence….she had oomph without being overbearing. I do not like Gina’s acting at all. I am sure the writers try very hard to resurrect Michelle/Phyllis’s demeanor and countenance….it is not working with Gina….she’s all talk,…..and, stupid. She has no clue with whom she’s sleeping? Why, oh, why, writers!!!! Give Phyllis a modicum of ‘get real’……throw a bucket of frigid water on her…..she needs to snap out of it.
At first look, especially when naked, Phyllis should have been cognizant of the fact that ‘what’ stood before her was pointing to the left and vice versa……not what she had been used to seeing. C’mon. We women memorize such things….we know every nook and cranny on our partner’s body….especially THAT.
Avery served no purpose, except to put another notch in Nick’s belt, litigate non-sensical cases, and my favorite? ?..Wait for it!……instruct residents of soapland how to bake fake cookies/cupcakes from play-doh.

Shout out to you, Cathy…..you may just be right in your assumption of Avery being the next murder victim. Frito Bandito strikes again?

Hi Cee Cee,
I think Phyllis was beginning to try to be a better sister, and wouldve
been an interesting process. Pratt couldve given Avery a better storyline
but instead he tosses her away, and one of his darlings is Summer, who
will probably be on forever. Ugh.

Oh, you’re right about that, Nanci. We are stuck with Summer.
However, as far as Phyllis is concerned? I won’t deny that Phyllis was trying to mend fenced and be a good, decent big sister. I guess her delivery just turns me off, albeit her intentions are good, and her heart is in the right place.

@Harry she also worked well with CLB/Michael I thought at one time that was where they might be going. No chemistry with Dude boy, Wonder boy or Oil salesman boy it was forced never worked.

Hi, Timmm.
Just a word of caution….
Keep in mind that I am a blonde (naturally)…..no blond jokes.LOL.
Furthermore, keep in mind that I am pulling your leg…..I am kidding…..LOL.
Now, explain to me what is so special about Avery? She is such a bland character…is it a man-thing? Is it her abundant bosom? You cannot imagine how cumbersome IT can be….LOL.
But, if truth be known, she does not annoy me. If push comes to shove, I would rather keep her than Dylan.

Chuck Pratt has gone on record to state that he loves writing women crazy. While I get it a a soap., I was kind of offended. Obnvi6 it’s a soap and you need the crazy factor but I find it offensive that a female character can’t be strong and interesting at the same time. Avery was boring, however she was also strong, smart and independent. This new writer has gone over the top. I don’t recognize these characters while I don’t mind suspending reality to some degree, but this show has become almost campy. Let’s return to actual stories and having the character be legitimate to their history.

@Liz.
If Pratt likes to write women “crazy”………what does that tell you what he thinks of women, and, his own character/persona?….. The man has issues, I say!!

I liked her too… JC does great w/ what they give her. It’s good to have bad girls/bad guys on the show but it’s good to have an Avery to balance. I know a lot of people got tired of her and Dylan which is probably what this exit is all about. Wonder if she would consider Days or if she’s going to focus on primetime gigs.

No doubt Pratt’s poison pen will give us a gag inducing exit for the Avery character.

Did you see the Daytime Confidential post about this? Word is Pratt’s exit for her was so heinous, the worst thing Y&R’s ever done, he was made to rewrite another exit. Wow!

It will not be ”heinous”
Y&R/CBS would not allow heinous ..
Y&R is a rung below a GP rating ..

A GP rating…lol..Maybe it was “heinous” for them?

GP???

Wee, su000, at least you’re now being consistent as far as judging both GH and Y&R is concerned.

agreed about his poison pen.

Please, let it be a murder mystery. Please, let it be a murder mystery . . .

I wonder if Phyllis suddenly showing up asking her what is wrong with her has anything to do with her exit. I thought that was so odd. Phyllis doesn’t even know her husband isn’t her husband and she’s testing the man parts every night. Why would she suddenly be up in Avery’s business pushing Dylan back at her. It seems odd because we haven’t seen them much together in ages. It seemed like they were gearing up to drag Sharon, as always.

I like the actress never was wild about her character the grapevine says her exit is going to be pretty traumatic. My guess is she uncovers some evidence about Fake Jack and kills her to keep her from telling Phyllis. Just please that is all holy have this have nothing to do with the character of Sharon let’s give that a rest.

That’s my theory too, of how Avery will leave the show. Since Yack is already to blame for Austin and Courtney’s deaths, I could see them tacking on Avery’s too. I just hope it isn’t gruesome or over-the-top, but then again, this is Pratt we’re talking about here. If he was forced to rewrite the story for how awful it was, I could only imagine what he’s got planned.

I agree.

Yes, but…what are they going to do to the character of REAL Jack in the process? He kills all these characters and then eventually, I’m assuming, all will be revealed. How does everything go back to normal? How will anyone be able to look at Jack again? How many bottles of vodka will Nikki have to consume to get over what Victor set in motion? Oh…wait. I just realized my stupidity. Victor won’t get caught. For years, probably. Duh.

Those are very pertinent and important questions you raise, Lucia. Yeah, Victor will get caught when HE, the almighty serpent,.is ready to die. Oh, yeah, does satan die? Everyone’s life is in his hands. He commands when it is time to die.
When all this immature abomination of a story comes to light, I would think that it will be one heck of a storyline surrounding Jack, his family and company. I am looking forward to what explanations will ensue. ….better be good!!!
Obviously, accusing Victor will be useless. So, how will Jack get his company back free and clear? Jack could argue that he signed under duress, or was mentally incapacitated and not in his right mind.
Furthermore, because of his several “bumps” on his head ( lol) one could argue Jack is hallucinating…but, where is Frito? I am still of the persuasion that real Jack has him stashed away somewhere. Jack needs him as proof. I give up, now.

Love this actress but the character of Avery has always been ill conceived at best…..and pointless at worst. I hope she finds new work quickly. She is blonde and attractive….and on Phelps/Pratt shows…that means she will more than likely die a violent and awful death. HiJack will probably kill her and then Phyllis will go all Postal on his ass!

Aden, I so agree.
Lately, they are pulling Avery’s hair back in such a way as to make her resemble one of Hitchcock’s cool blondes.

That is an interesting observation Harry. I also feel like they have colored it a shade of blonde that requires that the viewer wear sunglasses when looking at her.

I’m disappointed to hear this. I like Avery, and Jessica Collins is great. I hope the character is written out respectfully, but I saw the rumors. I hope Collins finds new work very soon. I’d like to see her on GH.

She is great. Now I feel guilty for calling her Betty Crocker, attorney at law.

Awwww, Harry! Don’t feel guilty. That’s how you saw her….we needed the levity amidst all that stupid fracas with Austin and those dumb cooking-shows….LOL. Seriously. What advocate does a cooking show? There are days when my parents barely have time to eat, they’re so busy with cases……never mind prepare meals.

I do agree with Jen in one respect….that the actress leaves the show with dignity. They all deserve that much.

I like Jessica Collins and I like Avery. Very enjoyable to watch on screen. I do not like all the plot lines. I liked the idea of a solid do-gooder type among the denizens of Genoa City, and that she was the opposite of Phyllis.

I liked that aspect of her character too.

Agree!
And now creepy, conniving Sage is becoming more and more
front and center, and we lose Avery, one of the few genuinely
nice women on the show. Makes sense. Not.

I so agree Iakovos, with everything you said. What a shame … she was the only bright spot in this otherwise dreary, fake, “Jack” fantasyland. Someone wake me please, when it’s over, and Victor goes to jail.. 😉

I’m pretty sure this will just the first of many to make the exodus from the show. Sadly, I can’t blame any of them if they do leave. I wish her all the best & hope to see her somewhere where the writers & EP appreciate her talent and write to her strengths.

I appreciate all the characters on the show so I wish she didn’t have to leave.

Thank goodness!!!!! Avery was boring as H%LL.

I really like Avery, however, I’m not crazy about the way she was written since Joe arrived on the scene. I can’t understand how such a big deal was made about Avery leaving Nick for Dylan only to change her mind once again. It makes no sense. I’ll miss JC and wish her well in the future.

Cannot say I’m surprised; the character of Avery changed from a strong and formidable lawyer to a man-hungry cook. The character kept changing. Maybe some time away will help bring some freshness for the character, and she can return down the line because I do like Avery and the connections she’s made with the cast of characters.

The Steve Burton Show loses another one…

Thats funny!

Don’t forget your recipes!

I’m angry,I like the character and actress.
If Pratt is behind it,expect more,he likes to kill off characters,he destroyed All My Children..

omg…. i cant believe this!!!!…. just as i was enjoying her protrayal as avery!
in fact joe/ avery/ dylan/ sharon quad is the only storyline i look forward to because its classic love story which is the only believable story from the writers as of now!
she looked stunning yesterday in blue with her hair pulled back when she fell on the couch with joe! both actors are so gorgeous to look at!
jessica on behalf of a longtime y n r viewer i apologize for the imposter writing team currently penning the show which matches the hideous story of imposter jack!
hope to see u back soon when the real y n r returns… in the mean time i will be leaving from viewing the show as well!

I have wanted her to leave since she joined. She is just so cold. Don’t know if it’s her acting, her, or the character, but she has never vibed with me.

I feel exactly the same way, Mo. Something about this actress/character is just not natural….

Let’s face it, Jessica Collins is sub par in this role. She came on with a poor excuse with the angry sibling role and then tried to turn her into a heroine that nobody rooted for. Her coupling with Dylan always seemed faked and this “relationship” with her ex, Joe is nothing short of stupid. The best thing about Avery is her apartment on the show. Great colors and design. While I hate what the Pratt/Phelps regime is doing to Y&R as a whole I can’t be sad that this character is going away. My only fear is that with Jessica Collins going that the character of Michael Baldwin will be leaving too. After all neither of them show up for work very often at the law firm and I have noticed that Christian LeBlanc is spending ALOT of time with various cast members of GH. Take a look at Twitter for that story.

Thank God, Mateo. I was starting to feel like a fool being among the minority concerning Collins….well, besides Mo. This character does not shine for me. She does not have savoir faire.

I am not too crazy about Sage or her furtive, hungry looks either (re Nanci). But she has the femme fatale syndrome….the thing which makes good TV. I do not agree with it, but it is what it is.
Moreover, personally, Collins is not that good of an actress.

Wow, CeeCee, you nailed it with those descriptive words!
Furtive and hungry looks – YES, totally Sage, lol.

I am devastated! Just devastated. Looks like I found the right time to give up Y&R. JFP is destroying the show.

You know, it’s funny. I never understood what people meant by that. When she came on to Y and R I read so much about people being scared that she would ruin the show. I have no idea who she is and I thought, OK, whatever. And NOW, NOW…with this new writing regime under Pratt, I believe it.

Gh needs a blonde! ;)))

Although I always had mixed feelings about the character, I thought the actress always did what she could do with the material they gave her. This character had a lot of potential that was never realized and although I didn’t hate this character, I will not miss the character. However, I am not looking forward to the character coming to some horrible end.

I don’t think writers should use violence as a plot device. Soaps reflect life, so yes there can be stories that contain violence. But when we had three murders in a row- Austin, Courtney and Kelly– another murder takes it from the realm of storytelling to cliche and sensationalism. And if there is more to come then it becomes absurd– like the mass killings on Days a few years back. The backlash became so bad they ended up rehiring all the people they had murdered. And that was Days, a soap known for such things. I think Y&R core audience will be less forgiving.

Ohhh goodie!
A kill-off!
Pratt will use the opportunity for a kill..
He is at his best when he writes death by action..
Hope Pratt makes it good..

ahh now I see why Kelly Sullivan/ Sage was put on contract (more money in the exit pot.

Ah, su. You slay me! Don’t ever change!!!!!

She would be a welcome addition to the GH or DAYS canvas, just sayin!

And I don’t care for Y&R anyway

This was a surprise, but not totally unexpected or disappointing. Avery was always a dull character, and while Jessica Collins is a fine actress, Avery never really had a purpose. Her only real tie to the show is Phyllis; they had to bring in Dylan and Joe as men from her past just to give her a story. Speaking of Joe, hopefully this means that he’s leaving GC too, because he’s another useless character.

I can only imagine what Pratt had in store for Avery. In fact, I’m really curious to find out, because in the last decade or so, Y&R has done a great number of things that can be considered “the worst thing the soap has ever done.” Whatever the case may be, I know I probably won’t enjoy Avery’s exit whatsoever.

I have always liked Avery and I”m sorry to hear this news. Not sure why there are so many haters. Avery is luminous and smart and brought a breath of fresh air to the show. Unfortunately, she was never given a good love interest or a good storyline, but she managed to make Avery something other than “a woman in need of a man”. I wish Jessica Collins well. She is so talented – good for her getting off the ship before it sinks to the bowels of hell.

PERFECTLY said! She is luminous & and a breath of fresh air. Get her away from dull Dylan & give her spunk back. She’s a keeper.

No hate here, Lucia. Just expressing our opinions. How can we hate someone we do not know? Hate is a pretty strong word for someone who means squat in my life. I do not see what you see. I do not see the talent, compared to other actors. Yes, I will concede that the way the character was/is, leaves a lot to be desired….but, there is no simpatia. Now, I have to worry about another hire? So tired of this yo-yo effect.
The same applies to Abby. There’s someone else’s backside I’d like to see as she waves her fare-thee-well. (Among soooo many others).

You say tomato, I say tomah-to. We can agree to disagree on Avery. I thought she offered a lot more than a character like Courtney who was always reminding us that she was “cop” but was completely unbelievable in that role. Avery’s initial klutzy routine was not cute, just affected and her storyline as Phyllis’s sister fell on me like cold water: that was the big secret? Phyllis had a family that turned her away when she turned whistleblower? The show was lucky that Michelle Stafford is fun to watch but that storyline was lame (not that Gina Tognoni couldn’t pull it off).
Regardless of the lame storylines she had to perform, I liked her interpretation of Avery and in my opinion, there are have been far worse characters and actors on the show.

As for the term “haters”, it’s an expression and you should not take offense, particularly since when I posted that comment, there were only 9 comments on this article and none of them were “hater” comments: distasteful, rude, and lacking in reasonable expression. A lot of people here at that time and since then have posted well-articulated responses to why Avery was not a loss for them. That’s cool. I was not referring to anyone on this site. I had looked at other soap news websites and some people posted things that I would describe as “hater” comments, because they expressed HATING Avery.

Loved your post, Lucia. You have expressed yourself very well, and I appreciate that. And, you’re right….everything is in the eye of the beholder. Avery was written in such a way, there was a wall between me and the character I found difficult to penetrate.
The same could be said about Michelle Stafford. She is my favorite soap star. Nonetheless, those spectators who were not acquainted with the actress’ acting skills, show a significant amount of distaste for her as Nina on GH because of the way the character is written.
Thus, Collins is most likely an exceptional actress…. I just have not seen that. But, that is only my opinion. I always thought of myself as having an open mind….so, I will keep it open and wish this beautiful actress good things happening in her future.
And, Lucia. This is why I love these sites, and M. Fairman for affording us the means to speak our mind….well, within the boundaries of decorum, of course…LOL. Peace out.

I hope she left on her own accord. Putting her with Joe looked like backburning to me. Avery was boring so I won’t miss the character. Best of luck to her.

Exactly, Geena.

Think about it….Joe is soooo sexy, and hot, hot, hot…….my heart goes potter-patter (he looks so much like my husband, albeit my guy has a lot more hair…LOL…it is uncanny and eerie). But, most importantly, Elrod is a great actor. Never boring. All he needs to do is stand there. Joe and Avery would have never made it, either. Perhaps the writers see this intangible ‘thing’ missing from Avery.

That is the main problem for me; Collins’ acting did not deliver, at least, not for me. There is no denying how attractive she is…voluptuous ….she gives good face. Nonetheless, she lacks sensuality even with all her positive, physical attributes. She does not have the IT factor.

I most definitely agree that Avery is the only character with a pure heart and mind in GC. She represents the epitome of what is good, honorable and honest. She is the only one who does not use underhanded tricks to get what she wants. TPTB could have gone another way in developing this character based on those merits.
But, it seems that unless a character is the most flawed, he/she has no chance of remaining on this show….JMO.

Lol…auto correct?….no way…correction; pitter-patter.

LOL

Ceec : I might envy you some….

Joe Clark… portrayed by Scott Elrod…. beautiful…. dynamic… a dream

Y&R production !!!! “do not…” do not… get rid of him or leave him in limbo… he’s too GOOD

i really only know him from his work… on “men in trees” but that’s enough…

I wish her the best, but I won’t miss the character. very boring and bland

Very big surprise, Pratt is killing this show.

Pratt was hired to give change, and that is what he is doing..
The numbers are up not falling, its far from being killed ..
Y&R lost its best stars, the ones that made it great..

Michael Muhney
Billy Miller
Michelle Stafford
(( and now Jessica Collins

not to mention;

Stephen Nichols
Cady McClain
Redaric Williams
Matthew Atkinson
David Tom
Kelli Goss
Huge loss; let go
Maura West, Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams
(they never use the great Tristin)

and the tragic loss of dear Jeanne Cooper

All in the past couple of years..
Y&R is empty of what once made it great..
no bringing it back to what it once was, the greats are gone..

Don’t forget victoria rowell.

I’m glad you left off Victoria Rowell. She is a troublemaker and I NEVER want her back on ANY soap!

They reap what they sow!

Best expression ever invented, 4ever….but, oh, so true!

I couldn’t have said it better DW you have said it in one !

Exonerating Sharon on those “murder by active volcano” charges. Carrying around a lucky rock. Dumping the gorgeous Nick for the sainted secret cult baby. Starring in an Internet cooking show.

With a list of accomplishments like that, I’m surprised this character lasted as long as she did.

Lol, Alan….How laconic.

Thank you, a worthless character. Maybe alway angry Lily can go with her.

Lili is always angry, isn’t she? Perhaps Cain is not rock & rollin’ enough to keep her satisfied? Just sayin’ ….LOL

Buh-bye, Avery! Take your cupcakes with you on the way out the door.

Susan lucci was right charles pratt is ruining the show

I’ll really miss Jessica on my screen. I was intrigued by her presence and performance right from the beginning. She’ll be a wonderful asset to any project that has the good fortune to land her!

I am glad to see Avery go. Her character was brought in so Phyllis would have some type of family and she hasn’t caught on with many viewers. My bet is that Yack kills her and Phyllis thinks Jack did it. This is the “digging” we have heard about Phyllis doing (more drama to try to get us to buy Gina Tognoni in the part as Phyllis which I respectfully do not) and it costs her the only family she has aside from Summer. It was only a matter of time before they let her go since she isn’t related to ANY core family in Genoa City. I don’t think she will be the last one to go either….Maybe they can take “Herb” (OOPS I mean Sage) with her.

wow

right on… about … giving nuPhyllis.. something… to layer with

Summer is not going to do it.. she is so dull

at this point.. i’d prefer Avery…. much more so … than dire… lacks screen presence Summer

Avery… when she first started out… knocked me out some.. as the tough firecracker legalese, with those glasses… I thought.. how sexy

where did she go?

shame

just a danged shame… what spirals

i’m so over Victor and Jack… as thee heralded… untouched unfettered dullsville twosome

Oh, my God, Vicki. I think I love you. Please, bring back Michelle Stafford, she is wasted on GH.
Gina Tognoni completely transformed the essence of what is Phyllis. The REAL Phyllis would have known Jack was not really Jack in a New York minute.
And speaking of Summer, who is, as you so eloquently put forth, Phyl’s only link to this dysfunctional town, does not demonstrate any kind of kinship with her mother, why? Because Hunter’s acting is mechanical. Even after activating her with a key, the expression of puzzlement Is frozen in place forevermore….

I found Hunter’s relationship with Michelle much more credible. Yes, mother and daughter had their problems……that’s the nature of the beast. But, former Phyl and she , showed that special bond constantly emerge amidst the fighting. I do not think that Gina has found her niche in GC…..with anyone. I thought she would have killed the character of Phyllis since I was familiar with her acting on OLTL. Very disappointing!
This Phyllis is completely possessed by her puppeteer, fake Jack . Does she not know yet that her children come first. Above all others?
Furthermore, Victor the contriver , the deceiver is being deceived by his own invention, fake Jack. This man has designs on this “new merger”….. He will have to dispose of Victor….his only obstacle, for the time being.
However, fake Jack is not as astute as one would think. He has this big “secret” within his grasp, that is, who Gabe really is. Why would he divulge this explosive info to Victor? I would have held on to it as future ammunition….to use against both parties. Perhaps disclosing it will make Victor think fake Jack is a loyal ally? Then “stab” him? …Lol….what a deliriously sweet thought…Ahhhhh!!!!!!

And we perhaps will also lose Scott Elrod (Joe Clark) in the process too. There’s really no reason to keep him around as he is not really connected to anyone on the canvas other than being Avery’s ex-husband. Like GH, I think Y&R is trimming it’s cast down a bit.

I never thought I would long for the days of the Grujon Reliquary and Brad Carlton’s powerful neck-snapping thighs.

Not sad to see her go. She is pretty and a pretty good actress. Her character just took a nose dive! Having said that, I just dont get it, they ax her but keep Summer, Devon, Joe, Stitch and Lilly. SUCKSVILLE!

The actress chose not to resign God Bless her their are still actresses out there that have self respect! I hope she calls up Susan Lucci and has a glass of Champagne! My sister and I will join you!!!

Ms. Collins I do not use Twitter so I will get a letter sent to you I just got it confirmed YOU chose not to resign my opinion of you just increased to 110 percent not to let a writer degrade you! Class Act and best luck in your future!!!!

Where did you hear that? I bet they wanted to destroy her character like they did Kelly’s…

JG from Daytime Confidential confirmed it to a friend of mine. This I lay on Pratt because I always felt JFP liked her? But in this business they smile in your face and tear you apart behind your back. You know that old song They smile in your face but all. They want to do is take your place. The Backstabbers! An oldie song from the old days!

I like Jessica Collins and her recipes and eclectic home ideas. I never grew very attached to the character. Avery and Dylan sounded good – but they were not exciting as a couple. Jessica Collins is talented I am sure she will pop up soon. I wish she would bring her food acumen from YT to Food Network….maybe even liven up Days if Josh Griffith can salvage the titanic in time.

I am not quite sure where Avery’s exit for Dylan’s character. I do not like Sharon Case and Steve Burton on the show. If Pratt and JFP are going to stick Steve in a too goody good “Jason” role. Then , I hope Steve can return to Port Charles. Ron could create a great Jason and Jake story.

I was never a Jasam fan and to me putting Dylan with Sharon is just another variation of that same theme. I thought Steve Burton was a long standing FOJ. If Pratt rolls Dylan to Sharon – maybe Jill doesn’t have the power and credibility she once had. Steve will always be well loved on GH. South the robust cast GH has now – they could work something out for his family time and commute.

Jessica Collins is a talented actress stuck in an uninteresting role at YR. However, for the show to keep Kelly Sullivan in an equally uninteresting role and story baffles me. Jessica is exceptionally more talented than Kelly.

Very concerned about YR more everyday.

I’m glad Avery is leaving. She, Dilan, Joe, Neil, Devon, and Hillary have the most boring roles. The sluttish crap that Devon and Hillary are doing is not riveting. They are not a good fit…I guess. Poor Jack, how did he get caught up in this pathetic double role. End the darn two Jacks and come up with something that is more captivating. Oh and not to get started with the mystery killing and the captain is sharing information with KIDS!!!! The whole Y&R have a lot of junk episodes. Not one scene is intriguing at this time.

I’m not surprised as the character never took off and came off boring and pretty useless in the grand scheme of things. I figured with a new head writer who is looking to pull forth some kind of dynamic feeling in the show he has to cut the ones that are not so dynamic in order to make the show shine brighter. Her lack of story or character has nothing to do with Chuck Pratt as she has been lingering like this since day one. Is it possible to reference the show without pissing on Chuck Pratt? He hasn’t been with the show long enough to warrant assumptions of failure. Quit the expectations and see where this leads and it can’t be any worse than the last what 3 to 4 yrs of blah!

I dont know if they have significant others, but I would like to see them together in real life. I like them both. All The Best to you Jessica!!!!!!.

My hope is that Avery is not killed. I took a while to warm up to the character, and actress, but they have almost destroyed her with her Joe guilt, and the vehement way she has taken on Nick’s cause to keep Sharon away from Faith. This show has done a poor job of showing the real explanation for Sharon’s actions, Except for the part about the medication. Bipolar people get completely out of hand, if they do not take care of themselves, and take their meds. They just have most characters (well mostly Newman’s) treating her as if she is just a nut. Mental Illness is serious, and like I said, I don’t think this has helped educate people regarding this illness. If they are going to get into a topic like this, they need to do it right, or not at all. Sorry, a little off track, but this really is something I feel strongly about.

CBS, please reconsider and don’t let Jessica Collins go. There will be a real void without her. She is needed on this soap.

I hate that jessica collins is leaving Y &R she is one of my favorite characters. I hate the writers for doing this!!!

Why is she OUT. Need to get cry baby and man chaser Sharon Case off. She has such a stronger character to play and does a good job. All sharon is mess around in every’s business. They need her out. I fast forward her scenes

Please Y@R and CBS, please reconsider and don’t kill Avery off. She is a vital part of this soap and is needed on here.

Jessica Collins is such a good actress and was the one woman on the soap that was not needy. Get rid of Sage and Kyle instead.

I agree, get rid of Sage & Kyle. The last person who played Kyle was much better!

Jessica is so talented and beautiful. I will miss her on the show as Avery. It makes me sad she’s leaving. I’d rather they didn’t
kill the character off. I look forward to seeing her elsewhere acting. My only hope is that Avery takes Joe with her (then dumps him on the side of the road!) Best wishes Jessica! You are a beautiful talented actress!

i like her, I thought she played a good part.
