‘An Evening with Jonathan Jackson’ at GHFCW (Photos)
Even though Jonathan Jackson (Lucky Spencer) just wrapped his most recent return to General Hospital on the June 11th episode, he still came back to perform and host his own event during this year’s GHFCW 2025.
Jackson, along with his wife and former GH star, Lisa Vultaggio (ex-Hannah) sang several songs, as well as participated in a Q&A with the fans in attendance, and Jonathan read some of his favorite pieces of his poetry and much more, earlier this weekend on Friday night, August 1st. In addition, GH’s Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) also stopped by.
Sadly, Jackson’s recent run as Lucky was cut short after only nine months. Jonathan first came back in August of 2024, but as things progressed it became more difficult for him to navigate living in Tennessee with his family and commuting to Los Angeles to tape all-new episodes of General Hospital.

Jonathan shared in June, “It was more of a real, sincere attempt from myself and from General Hospital to make it work for a longer period of time. The hope was to be able to stay on longer.”
The five-time Daytime Emmy winner, who is nominated again this year in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category, added, “There were moments where I thought, ‘I think I can find this balance with the family and time back and forth,’ and then you just have to pray about it and try to do what you feel is right. We gave it our best shot, but we weren’t able to keep it going.”

Jackson’s event at GeneralHospital Fan Club Weekend closed out his recent return in an uplifting way, while keeping the door open for him and Lucky to return down the line.

So, if you attended GHFCW were you happy to see and hear from Jonathan? Do you hope he will still come back as Lucky in the years to come? Share your thoughts in the comment section.
JJ knew it wasn’t going to work out in the first place. He needed some money to pay for the things he actually cares about. It’s not GH or its viewers. ABC has fallen for this more than once. So, move on from JJ. Quit being his back up bank and recast.
Taye Figs: I have to agree with you. If TPTB want the Lucky character to be a permanent part of the show, they must recast with someone who actually wants the job. Jackson is not the only person who can successfully play the character. Jacob Young and Greg Vaughan did very fine jobs. Especially Vaughan. He was perfect as Lucky the adult.
Vaughn was a horrible Lucky. All he could do was yell. GH does not want someone who is so far off from who Lucky is. They don’t recast him, like they don’t recast Robin. It’s just how it is.
No, Jacob Young was Old Yeller. Greg Vaughn was underrated and quite good playing a man struggling with an addiction to pain meds. I don’t think he got enough credit because he had tough shoes to fill(JJ’s shoes, not Old Yeller’s).
TPTB didn’t give Greg enough to work with. He did play the drug addiction a bit over the top. When you compare it to how Jonathan did it in 2011, Jonathan played it stronger. I like Greg but he always felt like another Spencer sibling.
That’s actually not what happened at all. You aren’t his people, so perhaps you should just shut up. He and Elisa thought about moving to LA but didn’t want to uproot their son. Someone who didn’t care, would have come to stupid FCW in excruciating pain.
What??? Are you for real? You have got to be kidding. This hateful comment absolutely makes no sense.
You are a fine example of pure speculation or just plain old make it all up. Next you will be telling us you know Jonathan Jackson personally. Your thoughts are just your opinion.
I read that all of Liz’s children are off camera . I would have thought he would prayed about this before he ever took the job yes commuting is tough my husband did it for a long time in his work. But he has other things going on so why the come back my understanding was very little scenes with Genie or Liz . And please clean up the dirty long hair and worthless beard do not make him appear older ! This picture unfortunately makes his wife look angry
He had a lot of scenes with ELIZABETH. She has never been Liz to him. He wanted more scenes with Genie. That was his reason to come back. It wasn’t his fault that he got stuck in scenes with Kristina. Don’t mock him praying. His hair isn’t dirty. I have been around him multiple times and it actually is very soft and very nice looking. He and his wife are very kind and before you knock him, he had a horrible back injury all weekend.
OMG!! You are just straight hateful. Your comment is so hateful and so unnecessary. It’s clear you have some issues so go get therapy and take that hate somewhere else.
It was gracious of him to be there at the GHFCW event. Absolutely love hearing him sing and his wife is so lovely. I would absolutely LOVE for JJ to return at some point (hopefully sooner than later) to the GH canvas in the role of Lucky Spencer. The chemistry that he and Becky Herbst have is off the charts and the 2 of them lights up the screen together. He is so talented and no one can play the role Lucky Spencer the way he does so no recast is needed.
the reason he left was because they dident write an amazing story for him it sad because he deserved better.
I wish he had sung a duet with Evan Hofer( Dex). Evan has an amazing singing voice. His cover of The Eagles “ Take it Easy” is just lovely.

At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
